thereof posted in the office of the borough clerk Borough Library the borough Rec Department the office of the Board of Ed and the offices of school number 3456 in the high school on July 17 2023 and notices were forwarded to the reporters of the record July 17 2023 this is an official meeting I'd like to take the role if I may Mrs Abreu Mr capanum here Mr Fredo Mr Garcia Mr Nedrow Dr pantaliano here Mr Rancor here Mr Russo terabakia here Dr pontelano Dr Hage you want to kick off the agenda sure thank you Mr alfano so as you know there are 45 Personnel resolutions that we're asking you to ratify tonight I'm going to speak to five of them because the majority of them are perfunctory so please know that eight of them are
leaves nine of them are teacher aides who are appointing but if you can take a quick look at resolution number nine I just wanted to acknowledge and commend within resolution number nine Mr alfano and our director of special services Mrs Pinto for collectively putting that position in front of us they funded it through money saving money saved by not Outsourcing speech language pathology as we did last year and we we're now going to hire and I'm asking you to approve hiring an employee and although it's a 90 000 salary that's going to be a significant savings for the district resolution 23 is a salary adjustment that I have to apologize to you I should have done it over the summer but I just got to it in the September's board meeting Mr Roman Gino brought
it to my attention over the summer well actually in May and June and I'm putting it in front of you tonight resolution 24. um pleased to let you know that we're bringing Celine sayonlar back from another school district to work in Cliffside Celine is a Cliffside Park High School graduate former athlete in the district and we're proud that uh she's back teaching with us resolution 31 I wanted you to know that both of those transfers within that resolution are voluntary and it just happened to work out well that one teacher requested to go to the Elementary's and the other teacher requested to go to number six schools and lastly resolution 32 is what we discussed at last week's work session and I believe Dr penciliano may speak about that further during her report I'd like
you now please to just jump to the policies under the first of all any questions on personnel yes I do have a question on Personnel so number 23 I'm assuming the salary adjustment is due to additional responsibilities you have a 70 year old interim and um dancing as fast as I can but yes Mr Roman Gino and I again talked about this and we knew that with me coming in here that person within the resolution is going to pick up additional responsibilities I'm asking you tonight to compensate and we're going to have significant breakage I'm sure it's Mr Roman Gino correct salary way higher than yours no that's understood um yeah I think you have about forty fifty thousand dollars that you get thank you and if I can interject the individual starters with the
transition when you have Mr romantino did announce his uh retirement to the board last uh last year and took that role uh you know in full force and and just has made this transition easier as you can speak on for yourself Dr hey she's been a great asset to you 100 now she's here to present with us tonight is going to save my kudos for when she gets up to present okay thank you thank you any other questions on personnel so if you would look at policies and procedures please there are six resolutions again open lunch and have Dr pentatiana is going to address it resolution 49 I wanted you to look at and let you know that uh that's a an annual approval that we're asking you to ratify and we had two Hip
allegations at the middle school in September both of them came back as non-hib or parents were notified offenders and victims were counseleds and I think everyone in the district who works who gets involved with our HIV did an outstanding job at the investigations and that concludes the report of the superintendent Dr pantaliana did you want to address I just have a couple of the volleyball program at Flipside park for many years so I was very proud and honored to see that the senior volleyball player Reina Institute has been named New Jersey athlete of the week I'm not sure that's happened to a volleyball player I think the date XO was 1985. I want the girls to know I have believed in you for many years and I'm looking forward to great things from a lot
of your senior year I look forward to Bringing Randy to the board meeting so that she can be appropriately honored and I'm very happy to announce that our volleyball team beat Fort Lee this week and they have an excellent standing in the league currently so very proud of them thank you very much the girls do you have any comments before we vote I mean I want to thank you for coming last week and you made some excellent comments and presentations about the lunch and I think that we've all taken that into consideration and we'll be voting on it shortly so the open lunch correct the resolution oh I apologize um so I think the back I gave you the copy of the contract Judy him that's that and uh Mr fennel can we redact the
resolution at this time of just putting insertion in to approve the Cliffside Park open lunch period for seniors only we can make a motion to amend right we'll make a motion for men yes sure make a motion to amend number 48 to include for seniors only a second yeah thank you for that thank you very much to include that we'll put on the overall agenda which will embed the unit okay the amendment sure because we have we are recording also so we'll capture all that and I'll be captured in the minutes and also be captured in a revision to uh the the agenda yeah I'll give a quick update on finance we are currently working on our 24-25 budget and we'll be engaging finance committee and the board in the coming weeks probably at the
next October work session to talk a little bit about capital projects and the Surplus in regard to our 2223 audit which will hopefully be doing the exit interview next week and that will trigger the finality on our Surplus and that will trigger us to be able to more appropriately have dialogue on what capital project we may want to do because we'll have a clear understanding of how many dollars we have to spend and what projects we may want to assess with our architect and engineering we'll probably engage the exit interview next week and engage the finance committee and the board I believe October 18th is our next work session so I just wanted to bring that to the attention of the board and the public and there's one change additional change we're going to make
if you go to page 16 resolution number 64. you'll see you'll see the word there Atlantic New Jersey there's not an Atlantic New Jersey there is an Atlantic City New Jersey so we'll add that we've already spoken to uh Dr Hayes is Secretary of Gina and she's going to update that and it'll also be updated on the minutes also I just wanted to bring that or detention and The public's attention any questions from the board or the public no just to suffice a committee Report with voting grounds thank you the high school backboards are in as you know we know with the undertaking of uh redoing the entire gym therein The Operators will be uh in probably next week or just waiting for electrician but they're up and running um they're usable as we speak
they just have to put the operators in so they can move them up and down it really came out great the HVAC system that we had some discrepancies in the past has been rectified it's been two months and everything has been operational since uh the um the two additional compressors were replaced we have four compressors two weren't working in the beginning finally train came down themselves and stole new ones certified and the two-year warranty kicked into effect uh last week if I'm not mistaken so we have two years of Manufacturers warranty it's like bumper to bumper on everything labor all that good stuff for the next two years but everything's been operational and everything and the temperatures are all right uh number during the Columbus Day holiday number six School the Middle School the gym
floor will be buffed a light stripping re-waxed and back into shape from they'll start on Friday they'll work over the weekend and holiday Monday will be back in order for Tuesday when school starts on the 10th understand when they do that you may have some sort of odor it's water-based uh polyurethane it's OSHA approved but you know it's just a sealant on the floor to protect its longevity and to protect the athletes from not slipping and falling so I just want to bring that to everybody's attention and the buildings are in good shape just little odds and ends that are getting taken care of that were left over from the summer the brick and masonry project at number six school as you know it's not closed out yet and they're doing some little minor repairs
over the weekend to try to close that project out that's pretty much it for buildings and grounds any questions or comments that should be a closed out final pay wreck for the by the next meeting October 25th to piggyback on the gym floor and the refinishing we did button it up with the ad to make sure there was no conflicts and also with the School principal and also on that long weekend that Monday which was Columbus Day where the schools were closed we're going to have our herons six-month of Hera inspections from an environmental logic we think that's a good time and then we'll report out with the reports and the outcome of those inherent inspections so we get them as you know twice a year so what we try to keep busies on the
facilities side especially when schools are closed Greg anything from the public okay I'd like to have a motion to accept the agenda if I may please I'll make a motion that was um Mr Baki it was number one and Mr capana was number two okay we'd like to take a vote May now Mr capano yes thank you Mrs Fredo yeah Mr nidrue Dr pantaliano yes Mr raincore yes yes Dr padriano Dr jeso moved and a lot of questions out I want to congratulate the ladies in the audience for their wonderful presentation the board just approved Senior Open lunch and we put our faith in you to do the right thing and we know that you will uh I'd like to further ad to leticia's point uh saw some of you uh tax at the high
school so so rest your Council for working so hard we appreciate it I may have a motion to adjourn I'll make a motion Mr okay that's Mr Baki was the first and Mr ringcourt I believe was the second so move the meeting is now officially closed
