So, FIRST OF ALL, CONGRATULATIONS. >> [applause] >> THIS [applause] AWARD IS ESPECIALLY PERSONAL TO ME because I remember being a student here at Clifton High School when my mom would drop me off at Manhattan, and and I would always have to cross. And um you know, you were just so passionate about your duty. And it's something that really goes unnoticed, right? The the amount of kids that you cross every day that you keep safe. Um again, it goes unnoticed, but we're so appreciative to you. Although crossing guards are under the the city, you know, you really protected our students especially. I know when I was part of the Clifton Student Union, we made an effort to every Christmas we
004give you a nice gift just again really to recognize you for what I think often goes unnoticed. Whether it was rain, snow, in the heat, in the cold, you were out there and you've had that incredible lasting impact. So again, just we want to thank you, congratulate you, um and good luck on your next chapter. 015a child that was non-verbal all year. I'm going to get real emotional. Kid The child could not speak at all. And because of Rocky, one of our team chewy dogs, she's now speaking. AND THAT'S that's that's a Rocky has been MVP. He's our newest pup this year. We are in the process of training a new cohort of special pups. And they bring joy to all of our students and staff. The proceeds from this fundraiser that was held in early spring because the designs were made into hoodies, t-shirts that our district and families purchased. The proceeds from that is going back into team chewy to

Alexia credits Ms. Massa for her long-lasting impact, describing her as a supportive and hardworking educator who helped her grow both academically and personally. She also recognizes Ms. Hamilton as her AP language teacher whose rigorous writing assignments have strengthened her analytical and writing skills in preparation for college. Beyond the classroom, Alexa is involved in baking club with Ms. Walker and dedicates time to tutoring and community involvement. She aspires to attend college and pursue a career in journalism, hopefully travel the world, raise awareness about important issues, and make her family proud. Is Alexia here tonight? E-Path stands for um equitable partnership across tiers and home. What that essentially means is that we've partnered with the University of Connecticut. This time last year, we started uh we embarked on a colorful journey, which is designated and designed to increase family engagement within our schools. And um I am so extremely proud to say that the work that schools 8, 14, and 17 have rendered a national model that is being tested to increase, as I said, family engagement, but more importantly to to actively look for families with students um who have special needs. The partnership is with the University of uh Connecticut, as I mentioned, as well as SPaN.
059And we are incredibly grateful for the leadership in our buildings, as well as our district.
