Um, a lot of personal accomplishments, a lot of a lot of team accomplishments that we're all very proud of. So, here's the way uh this runs. I I just say a few words like I just did. Uh, Dr. Roberty had to be at an event for his son. So, uh, Mr. Doctor is going to give the welcome, followed by our principal, Mr. followed by um our board president Alan Paris and then we're going to get into some of the special awards and then some team presentations where

a team MVP will be announced and then our uh female and male athlete of the year. In the middle of that, we are going to have dinner and make sure you do stay for dessert. So, I'm going to ask uh Mr. Doctor to come up. [Applause] Good evening everyone. Uh I'm here on behalf of central administration and Dr. Rozi specifically who uh wanted me to express his condolences for not being here this evening. Uh as Mr. Maly said he had a family event with his son who is graduating this year. 004moment and he will be uh mentioning all of them who are here this evening. Uh I just want to take a moment just to congratulate all of you. Uh I have been here as an athlete. I've been here as a coach, as principal of the high school, and now as a central administrator. And of all of the dinners, all of the events that uh I have been to while in Clifton Public Schools, this is one of my favorite. Um it's a night where we honor all of our senior athletes, athletes who have gone through two, three, four years of being the best of the best at Clifton. And I want to take this opportunity to congratulate all of you and your coaches for a great year this year and four years for the vast majority

of you. Thank you very much. Have a great [Applause] evening. Thank you, Mr. Doctor. Next up, Mr. Honda, our school principal. Good afternoon, everybody. I just want to take a moment to congratulate you all. This class is special for me. Uh you guys are the first group of students that have had me as their principal from start to finish and I have to say it's been a wonderful ride and I'm so proud to see all the growth in this room. All of you guys have gone so far from when you were freshman to today. I think that's the theme for this class, growth. We all grew together. I grew professionally, but you guys grew educationally, physically, emotionally. You guys have done so much good. And listen, one thing that I want to tell you guys

is that, you know, no matter what you do, you guys have learned something that is extremely important by playing sports at Clifton High School, right? It takes commitment to start something, but it takes consistency to finish it. So, the fact that you guys have gotten here shows that you guys have determination and consistency, which is going to get you far in life. So, I hope that you guys enjoy the night. I'm so so proud of you all and thank you all for coming. Thank you, Mr. Honda. Uh, board president Parish. Thank you, Mr. Manki. I'd like to introduce the board members that are here with us this evening. Uh, starting with Commissioner Brunak, Commissioner [Applause] Mahia, Commissioner Siano, Commissioner Suarez, Commissioner Danny, and Commissioner Kenova, and Commissioner Bask. And I know uh Vice President Santiago

is on his way, so he'll be here uh very very shortly. Ladies and gentlemen, dedicated coaches, faculty, administration, proud parents, and most importantly, our remarkable class of 2025 Clifton High School senior athletes. As the president of the Clifton Board of Education and proud CHS class of 1977 alumnist, it's an honor to address you this evening and celebrate your outstanding achievements. Your dedication, hard work, and passion have not only brought honor to yourselves, but have continued a Clifton athletic tradition spanning decades. What does it mean to be a Mustang? It's more than just wearing maroon and gray. It's a dedication to excellence both on and off the field. As basketball legend Michael Jordan once said, "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships." It's about the spirit of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity in everything we

do. It's about representing our community with pride and living the values that make Clifton such a special place. Teamwork isn't just about scoring goals or winning games. It's about the unbreakable bonds forged through sweat, tears, shared victories and defeats. is about lifting each other up when the odds seem insurmountable and celebrating every triumph big or small together. The great Vince Lombardi once said, "Individual commitment to a group effort, that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work. Each one of you sitting here today embodies the soul of what it means to be a Clifton Mustang. Sustain your spirit of teamwork, the resilience to overcome challenges, and the courage to chase your dreams with unwavering passion. On behalf of the Clifton Board of Education, I want to express our

deepest pride and admiration for all that you've accomplished. Congratulations to our exceptional athletes. May your future be filled with continued success on and off the field. Congratulations, class of [Applause] 2025. [Applause] President, so I forgot to mention uh earlier that this event is being livereamed. So your your parents are able to watch it, you know, in in live right now or they can go visit or you can go visit our YouTube page and go watch that. Let's hear from our live stream team. Our live stream team is literally the best in the business. I challenge you to go anywhere in the state of New Jersey and find a better, more consistent live streaming crew than this. They're here on weekends. They're here on short notice. They're here in the rain and the cold uh over

spring break, winter break, it doesn't matter. They're they're always here. They do an incredible job and they do an incredible job supporting our cast program as well. So kids are getting um you know outside of the classroom um experiences with true professionals. So thank you to the live stream crew. Also want to thank the coaches. Uh we have we have by far the most dedicated coaching staff that you can ask for. They they they give so much time, so much effort. Um they're so diligent, professional in all that they do. So really appreciate our our coaches. Let's hear from the [Applause] coaches, our athletic trainers. Where are they're in the back? All right. Trainer Tom hasn't missed a free meal in 43 years. So, we're happy that he is uh keeping it keeping it keep

keeping it consistent for us tonight. But they do a great job keeping you guys, you know, on the field. When you are injured, they do get you on the on the field very very quickly. So, we're really appreciative for for everything that they do. So, thank you, our athletic trainers. We also have a a very dedicated support staff. you know, the people who keep score, the people who keep time, uh the people who site manage, the people that really keep this department going going uh in the in the right direction. So, we want to thank them as [Applause] well. Uh central administration want to thank thank everybody for for all of their work from Dr. Roberts down. Um we get a lot when you see the projects that we're doing. No other district is doing

the amount of projects that we're doing. In the 12 years I've been here, I'm amazed at how many projects that we've done, how many improvements have been made, and uh how many we're going to continue to make. Right, Mr. Jiad? All right. Now, you can't do that also without um the support of the board event. So, I want to thank our our board commissioners for all of their support. They're always a yes when it comes time to adding positions, adding programs, um making these facility improvements. So, want to thank our board commissioners. Want to thank Mr. Honda and our VPs for everything that they do. Uh they're extremely supportive, always there to listen, and always there to help us. So, we appreciate them. Now, I just want to take a second to uh thank the

most important part of the athletic program, Miss Marsh Young. [Applause] Miss Marion runs every facet of the of the department, whether it's it's making sure support staff gets paid, making sure our orders go through, our orders get paid, uh, transportation, buses, officials, uh, dealing with coaches and emails and communications, and that and that's just a small part of what she does. So, thank you, Miss Mariel. All right. Now we're going to get into the team presentations. We're going to start with the fall. Going to start with football. Coach Sinu [Music] All right. Uh, good evening everybody. Um, I'm going to be up here real quick. First and foremost, just want to thank Mr. Malay and Miss Marion, uh, for all your hard work and dedication to our program. Um, I would like to recognize all

the coaches in the room for their constant sacrifice and time spent away from family and loved ones to make you better athletes and better human beings. So, I know this night is about you, but I would like to recognize you guys real quick. To your seniors, this has always been a special night here at CHS. As uh Mr. Docker alluded to earlier, many years ago, I was at this event just like you guys. And um you should be very proud of your accomplishments. All of you that are going on to play college uh athletics next year, I tip my cap to you. I know what it takes. I know how hard it is. Especially division 3 athletes, you have to go. you have to pay and you play. It's a lot. So, I tip my

cap and I'm uh you should be stand up and uh be applauded this evening. Football definitely a challenging year for us. However, we did finish on a win for the first time in a while because of the young men in this room. So, thank you for never giving up and always being Clifton tough. We have three young men going on to play college football. Isaac Kazamoski will be going to William Patterson. For you guys that don't know, that's salami. Justin Cavaria will be going to Monslair State and David Alvarez will be going to Muenberg. [Applause] [Music] Our MVP for this year is a three-year starter, two sides of the ball, and uh one of the toughest guys that I know. And uh because of guys like you, we'll be better next year. And uh next

year, he'll be taking his talents from Montlair State. Justin Gabri, come on up. [Applause] How does it Thanks. Next up is Girls Tents. You see, good evening everybody and welcome. My name is Elizabeth Prey and I am the um girls head tennis coach. Um tonight we celebrate our senior athletes and their accomplishments. I first would like to thank uh Dr. Roberts, the central administration, the Clifton Board of Education, and the Clifton High School Administration, Mr. Hanza, Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Stef, Mr. Keegan, Mr. Goer, and Mr. Walka for your continuous support of our athletic programs. I also want to thank Mr. Tomy and Lorie Mashion for organizing this wonderful event. And finally, I would like to thank my assistant coaches, Chad Cole and Annne Tate, for their mentorship and collaboration to make this season so successful.

This is my first year as the head tennis coach. While my assistant coaches made this transition super smooth, there are four seniors that made this um season very enjoyable and memorable. And those seniors are Paris Ao and Marina Ne Rivera and Viviana Santiago. Um, thank you Viviana and an our co- captains for being team role models and leaders this season. Thank you powers of the bag for your continuous dedication to our program. You faced challenges, celebrated victories while supporting your teammates and respecting your opposing teams. Over the four over the past four years, you have shown incredible dedication to improve every day. As you move forward in this next chapter, please remember the lessons you have learned and that um all those learning that our tennis program has given you. I am so proud of

each and every one of you and I wish you all the best in um all of your future athletic and academic endeavors. Congratulations and thank you. And for our um uh senior MVP, I would like to call Anna. [Applause] [Music] Next up is coach Sardano, girls volleyball. [Music] Oh, Coach, I'm sorry. I I was looking at I was looking at uh Sando. I apologize. Sorry, Stephen. Um good evening everyone. Uh I would like to take the moment to thank the coaching staff and the Clifton School uh administration for their support to the girls volleyball program. Um I would also like to acknowledge our seniors. We have Kimberly Waka who unfortunately is not here. uh Junior Crawford who is also not here but she will be attending Ruckers next year. Jamilia Sanchez who will be attending

Penn State and our MVP who is Alisa Poly attending Ramapol. Uh, thank you very much. [Applause] [Music] All right, next up is boys soccer. Uh, Coach Lumprey was a bit under the weather today, so I'm going to uh present for him. And then we have some of the soccer players are going to come up to present the uh Fernando Rossi scholarships as we do every year. So boys soccer finished 173 and two. Uh they won the Liberty Division as well as uh Pay County Championship. They were sectional finalists and finished in the top uh top 20. Again, these seniors that have played for the last four years have started and finished in the NJ.com top top 20. So there's a lot to be said for that. Very very difficult to do and won uh multiple

championships. So that being said, the boys soccer MVP is Justin Lee. Uh Justin [Applause] Leech, like Mr. Ultimately, he said, "We ended our year fourth in New Jersey rankings and 12th in all of New Jersey. In the last four years, we've had a combined record of 11 losses, five draws, and 64 wins. Now, we have the honor of announcing both of this year's $1,000 Fernando Rossi scholarships. And the winners are Jada Romero and Justin Leech. [Applause] All right. Girl Soccer Coach Chris. [Applause] [Music] 4. All right. This soccer season, we had four seniors who dedicated four years to the program. I want to thank them for all their commitment and hard work throughout their high school careers. Uh my four seniors are Amelia Wil, Mia Dvita, Kayla Akuna, and Brianna Moyes. My MVP was a

workhorse up and down the field, always wanted to get better, not only as an individual, but as um as better for the team. My MVP is Mia Dvita. All right, next up is coach Mercini and cheer cheer and competition cheer at the same time. [Music] Good evening everyone. My name is Dina Fcini and I have the honor of standing up here tonight as the head coach of Clips and Jer. As always, I'm incredibly proud to represent a program filled with heart, hustle, and history. This season was nothing short of amazing. Our team completed the Big North Conference with a record of six and two and earned the title of Big North Liberty Division Champions for the fourth straight year. [Applause] She placed third out of 28 at the Big Horn Cheer Championships, took home multiple

first place finishes and grand champion titles, and became state champions for the third year in a row, scoring the highest out of 23 teams. These accomplishments don't happen by accident. This team showed up. They worked hard, supported one another, and they never settled. I want to take a moment to thank my incredible coaching staff, Laura Tanel, Samantha Feliciano, Sarah Post, and Brandon Rivera. You bring so much dedication, energy, and passion to this program, and I'm so grateful for each of you. To our athletic director, Mr. Tomy and Mrs. Lorie Maron. Thank you for always supporting us and believing in our program. And now to our six seniors, Alexa Miller, Elizabeth Lour, Ava Ortiz, Veronica David, Josie O'Neal, and Shane Fischer. Thank you. Thank you for your leadership, your energy, and for leading this program better

than you found it. We'll miss your presence on the mat and during games, but your legacy will live on and inspire young athletes for years to come. And finally, a special congratulations to our fall MVP, Alexa [Applause] Miller, and our winter MVP, Elizabeth Tor. You were both the anchor each season and examples of what it means to be Clip Strong. Thank you to the parents, the board of ed, the clips community for always cheering us on. This team is something special and I'm so lucky to be a part of it. Thank you. [Music] All right, wrapping out the fall. Coach P is in girls and boys cross country. [Applause] [Music] I want to thank all of you for being here. It's a privilege to coach at Clifton High and work with some of the finest

athletes that our county in our area of the state produce. Whether you've been on super successful teams or teams that struggled, it's the person you became by being part of that group that matters the most. I want to thank the administration of the district, the administration of the school, the athletic director, our principal, our vice principles, our secretary, Miss Marion, and most of all, my assistant coaches for cross country, Mike Vez and Justin Swisser. And we did not have a lot of seniors on our team, but the two girls seniors were tremendous leaders, were great examples for the younger girls to follow. Our outstanding senior girl. I'm not sure if she's here, but she deserves our applause. Muhammad Kala Muhammad [Applause] All righty. Our boys team had three seniors that contributed an awful lot. Every

one of the boys and girls, the total five are all going on to higher education of some sort. on boys cross country. The individual who's winning this outstanding senior award truly is one of our all-time greats. He's not just great as you know him in the building and the school district as one of the brightest athletes we've ever produced, but he's going to an exceptional college. And I'd love to be around another 20 years to see what he accomplishes in his life. His dedication is unescribable. Lamar Ali [Applause] [Music] All right, moving into the winter. Coach Val, girls and boys swimming. [Applause] [Music] Uh, good evening everyone. Just want to say congratulations all the seniors in the room for your hard work and dedication throughout the years. Um we had a few seniors Paris Royal

Ranatada just sorry Ranada and James Yasmin Mills Maria Ramirez Na Rivera and most importantly our senior MVP Jaylen Rivera. Congratulations. [Music] for the boy side. Uh we have one senior boy dedicated, showing up every single day, gave everything to swimming his four years. Not didn't say much, but said a lot with the work ethic and everything that he did in the water each and every day. Our voice here be Benjamin Santana. [Music] Next up is Coach Getta in boys wrestling. [Music] Welcome guys. Today we are coming together to honor our outstanding senior class of wrestlers. Uh one that's going to left an unforgettable mark on our new program. uh Edward Jativa, Joshua Martinez, Jason Gel, Justin Geria, Isaac Kazamski, Nick Doctor, and Joe Gletto. Uh let's not forget these guys won numerals awards throughout the

four years. They were building block for all every single championship one. They were county champions. They won big North public school dual team championships and they won the state sectionals last year as well. Uh now as we move on they leave behind just not just an empty spot but also a legacy and culture. Okay. Hard dedication, really hardworking kids that these younger kids are already noticing how much they're going to miss him next year. Um it was a hard to pick MVP this year. uh from Justin who was the last kid winning the state championship against BCTI to Isaac Kazamski who went one match away from placing in states this year with 38 [Music] wins to Nick Doctor and Joey Galetta. who both accomplished 100 wins in their [Applause] careers with Nick setting the record

of pins. Incredible. 96 pins in high school career, which is high school record in [Applause] pushing. and Joey, my son, a little hardheaded taking a year off, taking a gap year, set a record with 425 points, wrestling three different weight classes against the best competition, [Applause] like I said, it was very difficult to decide, but the most consistent kid who wrestled four years on varsity. Nick [Applause] Do hopefully one year. All right, next up the real coach Kleta and girls wrestling. [Applause] [Music] Last year at this dinner, we had the pleasure of honoring NJ Martinez, who is now thriving at the Naval Academy. Today we are here to recognize two senior female wrestlers, Jesse Nuan and Samara [Applause] Monahan. When MJ graduated last year, we only had Samaro as the team who suffered broken collarbone

injury and couldn't compete. But Sam came back. She attended every summer practice and even mobilized more of her friends. Together with MJ's inspiring legacy, we were able to build the first varsity girls wrestling team in Clifton High School. And what a year it was. We competed in dozen of events and I'm happy to say that more than half of our Navis wrestlers finished with a winning record. And also as a team we achieved a winning record as well. We beat tough opponents like Natley, Carney and Sparta. I also want to thank Coach Galetta, his dedicated staff and also the entire boys wrestling team for for their support. Coach Vleta, you have been instrumental in this athlete development. I never thought I'd say this, but I have a lot to learn from you. [Applause] We are

proud to share that Jesse and Nuan will be attending Princeton University and our Catherine Samra Monahan will be heading to Montlair State. I also want to acknowledge our hardworking manager Jayen of Espinosela. [Applause] Congratulations. And our MVP for this year is Sam Monahan. [Music] All right, we're going to take a break to eat dinner at the reserve tables. Please head up. Live stream. Please head [Music] up. All right. Now take your first shot. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] All right, we're going to pick up a little while bring [Applause] All right, kicking us off in the second half, Coach Loito and girls basketball. Good evening everyone. I recognize the administration, our athletic director Malay, and of course, Miss Mario. They've done an outstanding job

and with all the athletes, but most of all, we're here for the senior athletes to recognize them for their effort. Today I want to talk about the girls basketball team. The seniors are Crystal Delone, Da Shade. I don't know if she's here, but if she is, I'd like to give a shout out because it's da da da. One of our seniors who did not get here was Audrey Rodriguez. And last but not least, our manager for 3 years, uh, Jonathan Kennedy. Um, so very, very fortunate to have all the seniors through. Um, our year started off my first year as varsity coach. We've been here 5 years also as an assistant. And first half year was fun, but we really turned it around. So guys, winning some league games, which was good. Finished the year

strong, hitting hard. So I was very happy with that. Um could have been also the seniors for all their work, their dedication. A lot of money has been here in program for 40 years. But at this time I want to really talk about our MVP. She's a four-year four-year starter who's won league honors, accounting honors, and will be attending Ruckers College and Mer University next year. Nia All right, next up. [Music] Thank you. So, basketball had an up and down year this year, but these seniors have been really been a part of a lot of really important wins over the last four years. They have really set a standard of excellence. Um, especially the three seniors here tonight, Justin Leech, Julian Vega, and Omar Rosario. Um, my team MVP is Omar. He's a great kid.

Um, I can't wait. He'll be going to Ram College next year. And, uh, I can't wait for him to come back with us cuz he's going to go and come. So, Next up, Coach West. Girls indoor track followed by boys indoor [Music] track. All [Music] right. So, our girls indoor track team consisted of seniors Mia Dvita, Isabella Vtori, and Halo Muhammad. Um, our season was pretty good. The girls came second in both uh leagues and county championships. Um, I can't speak enough about them. We have one particular individual who's been the cornerstone of our track program on the girls side. She is our MVP. Mia Lita. [Music] Mia actually keeps me sane. She's one of the few normal ones on it. And uh it's been a pleasure being your coach, Mia. Honestly, I really do

appreciate the four years of your dedication to this program. And uh I'm going to really miss you. [Music] [Applause] [Music] As for the boys, our seniors consisted of Wana, Deaner, Rineer, Familia, Aaron Hatcher, Zane Nelson, Lamar Ali, and Nathaniel Phill. The boys were third at league championships. Uh we had a few teams, a few individuals county wer uh those some of the seniors at home county. We had a couple second team members Aaron Hatcher. Yeah, you can you can cheer. uh sectional champion who's also a junior but I haven't quite there uh we have a couple uh first team or league I should say Lamar Olive uh and and Phil uh the boys also won county championship if you had to know our season was pretty controversial we had uh if you watch the news

we had some issues for about a month in track but they still managed to to overcome that uh adversity and win county championships. So, I just want to uh congratulate the boys team on a county championship victory. Our senior MVP, Wander [Applause] [Music] Yeah. Coach usual. Nice shot. Just want to first start just by thanking everybody for coming out. I want to wish all of our senior athletes uh the best of luck in everything they do moving forward. Uh, as far as our ice hockey team this year, um, our [Music] seniors, Joseph Abella, Ryan Rud, Thomas Nikl, Nathan Bendola, Joseph Petriela, Christian Reyes, Julian Sanchez, and our senior managers, Haley Casterly, and Francesca Shione. Uh this group of seniors is kind of a special group. They're the last uh last players in our program that

were part of the team when we were just cliff. Now we're a try out which means we're made up of three different teams and I know that is special to those players to have played uh as just Mustangs that freshman year. our senior MVP, uh, honorable mention all county, honorable mention all league. Uh, just a player who every game, every practice, max effort, uh, someone who we never had a question whether or not he was given everything he had. He set a great example for the team. He also served as our captain his senior year, and that is Thomas [Applause] Knight. All right, winter. Girls and [Applause] boys. Good evening everyone. This past year, I had an unexpected but truly rewarding opportunity to serve as the intern and coach for our building team. I want

to begin by giving a heartfelt shout out to coach Alice Orbridge. While we all miss him this season, I'm incredibly grateful for his support and guidance throughout and made a huge difference. Additionally, I want to recognize my assistant coach, Matt Me, whose steady presence and reliability helped keep everything on track. I also want to thank so many of you in this room who offered me kind words throughout the season and meant more than you know. Now, a special shout out for our seniors who went by example. from our hurdles team Carolina Fabola Mia and Gabali team Brandon Kevin Grievous Victor Manetto and Finally, I want to congratulate our MVPs, Fabola Mia for the girls and Kevin from the [Music] [Applause] boys. Thank you all. It's been an honor. [Applause] Thanks. Moving on to the spring

break. Girls lacrosse. Coach [Applause] Frisky. All right. This season we had four seniors on our team, two of which were fouryear varsity players. They dedicated themselves to getting better every day and making everyone around them better. They will definitely be missed. There are Jaylen Rivera, Amelia Will, Ellie Kis, and Viviana Santiago. My MVP suffered a devastating knee injury that fought her her junior year. This season, she came back on the bench more determined than ever. She earned first team all league, second team all county, finished with 29 goals in a chance, and will be playing next year at Wild State. familiar [Music] [Applause] [Music] world. Congratulations.
