006that when we put them on our agenda and I just think it would be more respectful if we read all of them but since I don't have my glasses handy I figured I'll just be quiet and read this one this month and hopefully we'll will re-examine our policy with regard to that so I'm going to read the proclamation for deaf domestic violence awareness month where as domestic violence continues to be a major social crisis and healthcare concern in our state and in Palm Beach County and whereas the physical and emotional scars of domestic violence cast a long shadow on too many individuals who face pain the pain and fear of domestic violence regardless of race age ability sex sexual orientation gender identity or citizenship and whereas domestic violence is a serious crime that affects people

010to our school Police Department with the appointment of Dan Alexander from Boca ratone to join I think it just reinforces the quality of the department that we have and how much we all appreciate the work that our police officers are doing mrs. Andrews I'm just happy to see Jay Baucus come back home to the Palm Beach County School District dr. Robinson thank you so without naming the person or the position I just that makes me want to say this I think it's critically important that we make sure that we provide our employees with additional opportunities to learn and grow so that they can move up to the next level it's unfortunate when we have to get talent from the outside I would like for us to be more intentional intentional about developing the talent inside

Shaw discussion dr. Robinson thank you so this was triggered by the quark report and and me taking the time to pay attention to the to the court meeting so first I have a question just for clarification so when we do piggybacks like this the hourly rate or the lump sum is set right this this is it this is a request for additional funds for more work not to increase the hourly rate okay all right thank you and then the other

012point that I want to make and I wanted to make it more I guess for my fellow board members because I've had this conversation with mr. Burke and the director of purchasing it's important to me that when we do these piggybacks that part of staff's evaluation of the piggyback is whether or not the original contract is in alignment with our our priorities and our policy so for example since we're in a small business enterprise environment I would hope that future piggybacks come to us with the notation that staff has looked at whether the original contract for in this in this case the example would be did it have SPE goals on it and just so that we would be aware of that and that would be part of our deliberations on whether or not we
