Dr. Jamie Kelly, son of Christopher M. Pennyop. Welcome, Jacob. to do to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> You may be seated. At this time we have Lauren Paul and we do have one missing Dr. Jacobe, you leaving us now? It's okay. >> Okay. At this time, we leave the adoption. A motion to approve the agenda as presented. >> We'll make a motion to adopt the um agenda as presented. >> Need a second. Second. Motion is second. We all agree and spoke by showing. Thank you. At this time, we need a motion to approve minutes from April 21st work session, our regular meeting, and also May 6th call meeting. >> Make a motion

to approve the meeting minutes from May 6th, April 21st uh work session and board meeting. >> We have that motion. Second. >> Second. >> Okay. Motion and second. All in agreement. Vote by show of hands. Thank you. At this time, we are ready for our financial report. And Miss Marchman is not with us. I see that she um has some family things going on. So, I will present the finance report to you tonight. >> Thank you. Um and so before you you will find the financial report for April 2026. Um we are approximately 83.3% uh through the school year as of April 30th. Um actual revenue is 68,41,263 and that represents 57.12% of the budget. Our expenditures again we're at 83.3% of the school year. Expenditures are at 66 uh,380,434 and that's about 80.63% of

the expected budget. So we are right align right in line with the um time of year general fund balance. Total assets $297,89,342 with total liabilities and fund equity equity equaling the same. and our changes in general fund equity um 296,525,786 investment in all funds total investments 281,31,8521 and the next 15 pages represent in are and commerce report for um the month of April. The second attachment there represents our vendor activity report and this is by vendor 5,000 or more. Are there any questions about anything on the financial report? Anyone have any questions? No questions. And I do want you all to know we've had this a week or so to study already. Okay. >> Also, oh, we need a motion. >> Yeah. >> We need a motion to approve April 2026 financial report as presented.

>> Make a motion that we approve the April 2026 financial budget as presented. Okay, a motion has been made. >> Second >> as it's been second. Are there any questions? No questions. Let's vote by show of hand. Thank you. >> All right. The second thing that you have there is the um FY27 budget. Um this is a tenative budget of course. um looking for approval on that tonight and then it will be um put in the paper and with the expected um final approval on the budget being at the June board meeting. So I will open that and is there any questions? Okay, questions. We need a motion to approve the tenative budget for fiscal year 2027. I make a motion to approve the tenative budget for fiscal year 2027. >> A motion has been

made. Need a second? A second. >> It's been second. Are there any questions? There no questions. Let's vote by show of hands. Okay. Thank you very much. And thirdly, um you will recall at the February 17th board meeting, Miss Marchman brought the corrective action plan for FY23. Um on April 28th, we received an email asking for a few revisions. So this uh copy um reflects those revisions. They want a little bit more detail in the plan. So um that's what you have there before you. So we have to again have it reflected in the minutes that the board repro approve the corrective action plan with those revisions. >> Okay. Need a motion. >> I make a motion to approve the corrected action plan for 2023. Need >> a second. Second motion is second. Are there

any questions or questions? Let's vote by show of hands. Okay. Thank you. >> And the next one is on miss. >> Good evening. Nicholas, I want you to have a hard coffee. So S&P has their plans. In order to stay within the aotted budget, the nutrition department is requesting that the board pick up the salaries of two positions. I believe it was discussed in extension, but I wanted to give you some further details. So the amount allotted to operate school nutrition is less than the increased cost of the district's salary schedule. So we have put some measures in place to counteract and we have we last year we started doing the chicken. We discussed that how we send the USDA chicken to the processor get our nuggets tenders fly popcorn. And then we have this

next year we have a new marketing plan. We're gonna do Tri Tuesdays for the little ones and then once a month we'll do Tri Tuesdays for the older ones because they're already kind of they're already set in their ways, but we're trying to capture the elementary students. We're also pushing social media a little harder. Our staff will be at open house this year with pictures. We've been taking pictures of all the entre and the signs and we're going to have posters at open house. So, parents are willing to come and ask questions. We'll be there. And then also we've been doing more staff promotions with like taking them pictures and posting when they get 100 on their health school and making little posters and put on the cafeteria so that the the children understand how

hard it is and how good of a child they're doing. We've also implemented a menu rubric to cut down on the cost so we can provide popular and new choices to still see a priority budget impact. And then we have Wesburg Primary and SGA will transition to breakfast in the lunchroom for the majority of the grades to cut down on the individually wrapped items because they're a little pricier. And then we have the high school is starting to eat in the cafeteria for breakfast in place of the grab and go so they can have more selections and they can get a hot breakfast. And then the middle school has been working with the nutrition department to plan special menus for celebration days. So when the school does a celebration day, it takes away from our

participation. So we're starting to work with the principal so that we can help provide the food for the celebration day mark together. So it benefits both. They don't have to pay an outside vendor and we get our participation. Also, we are tracking inventory to keep money from sitting on the shelf and in the bank account. And then we are looking into next year on our bid. We've added more shelf stable options to have on hand in case of emergency weather day. So, as long as we get enough of a heads up that something's coming, that there's a chance, we'll go ahead and start packaging all the food, the shelf stable, something trying to get it ready for emergency rooms. Also, thank you for the virtual dates. We will now feed the students in the school

system because the state won't allow us to send meals home when it's a planned virtual day, not an emergency. So that'll give us three more days of participation next year. And we are trying a new thing of offering lunchbox built at elementary schools. So parents don't have to stack lunches. They can put their favorites in the lunch box and then we will have the supplemental to go with it that's reimburseable. they'll have that option plus they can choose hot options as well if they go through one but we'll have that sit in there that they can supplement the lunch box with in just another um I do have questions and looking at the budget >> which will But I just include the meals for early head start and head start >> button. >> Okay. >>

They're also on a black. That's why their their numbers are looking a little better. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. >> Adding headstock to it really help their revenue. >> Okay. All right. >> But I need a motion. >> Uhuh. You I got another thing. >> Anybody else? >> Oh, you want me to do the motion before your other thing? I got two motions today. >> Okay. >> This one and then I I put it on there twice, but let me >> Okay. Well, we need a motion for the SNP budget. >> This is for the allocation for the personel >> for the personnel allocation. So, you all talked about it in the work session and vote on it during this session. >> Okay. >> So, we need um a motion to approve the S&P budget for

fisc year 2027. Also the um I'm going to got it right here. >> Okay, >> I need it. >> I make a motion to supplement the nutrition department's request for two positions. >> You need a second? >> I second motion and second. Okay, there a question. No questions. We all agree. Thank you. >> The second item was okay for the school year 2627. Uh we have projected ex expenses of 5 million less 5,268,273 and the revenue is projected at 5,287,94. Does anybody have any questions? Um, I also gave you the the stool so you can see how each school and program is broken down. You can see which ones are working on where they >> Okay. >> Do you have any questions about the individual? >> Are there any questions? Okay, >> no question. We

need a second motion. >> I have a motion to approve the school nutrition budget for fiscal year 2027. >> Okay. Need a second. >> A motion. Okay. >> Which one? Which one? >> Okay. All right. Second. Are there any questions? If there are questions as folk by showing >> Okay. Thank you. Thank you. I see some young people in the audience tonight in the back. Would you say? Are you just here visiting us? Okay. Give us your name. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Uhhuh. >> Okay. Well, thank you for coming. All right. Let's continue. We are now ready for um we have no public participation on old business. Okay. >> Under old business, Madam Chair, we have the two policies that you the board requested that we hold off on to ensure that they were there

for the minimum of 30 days of posting for comment. And there wasn't any, Mr. Unless you've gotten something separate. Um, and so these processes are back before you um or not. >> We can start with G A R K um which is the vacation policy draft. I'll bring it up. >> Any questions about that one? >> Know it's been a while since y'all looked at it. >> Yes. So currently everyone is every one of the 230 240 and 261 10 days. >> That's correct. Correct. >> Yes sir. >> Um >> regardless of the number of years >> years of service. >> Okay. And then we are adding the ability to roll over 50 days in a bank >> that can be used the following year or it's just banked for retirement essentially pay out. >>

That's correct. >> Okay, that was one question I had if it would if it would roll. >> And you said for retirement. I want to make sure I correct that. It's actually whenever you get ready to exit the district. >> Yes. Okay. >> However, that happens. Retirement resignation. I first of all don't want you that it's used towards their retirement. >> And if I have if my notes are right from our last meeting when we discussed it. So there's there's roughly 26 days built into these individual schedules that are essentially school holidays, spring break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, that sort of thing depending on how the calendar falls. that is somewhat accurate because it also um remember the 230 and the 240 individuals they don't get all of the holidays >> they are minus some of those

days like for instance you know Thanksgiving that's a we probably counted five days or three okay but that is accurate and then we do get the um spring break we also get the Christmas but there are like next year I think I mentioned about the um Columbus Day we will be working So that will not be a date that we that 2:30 240 will have all or 261. >> Okay. >> Yes sir. So it's like two of those days. It's the >> So the days that you gave us in bread >> last meeting, Columbus Day, Veterans Day and President's Day for his bra, but the other two days we will know. >> Okay. That's Yes, sir. >> Any other questions? don't know questions. Go ahead, please. >> So, I feel and this is this is

just my opinion. I feel like the ACLU at at five years ramping up to 15 years. I feel that that is a little excessive and I may be off my mind my mind goes to hours based off of my employment. I think I think about time off in hours but I understand we don't we don't take hours off. We either take a day or half day is that correct >> however okay utilize it however the dawn question. So a a day counts as a eight hour day, but they can take three hours of that day and come in later that day. >> Yes, I absolutely any other questions or concerns? If there no other questions or concerns, we need a motion to approve vacation policy G A R K to adopt the revised policy. Make

a motion to adopt the revised JK employee vacation policy. >> Need a second. >> A second. >> Motion has been motioned and second. Are we ready to vote? they go. Oh, by show of hands, please. Okay. Thank you. The other policy is G A R H. Um and recall that um with TRS employees their sick leave goes towards retirement. That is not the case for employees under Pasers. And so this um suggested draft was made to address um the the custodians and other employees who cannot roll their um unused sick leave into retirement. They either use it or lose it. Okay. And that was the only modification to this draft. >> Are there any questions, concerns? And we need a motion to approve the revised policy. G A R. >> Make a motion to approve

the revised policy. G A R. >> Need a second. Second. Motion is second. And no questions. We'll vote by show of hands. Thank you. >> New business 30 head start the last 30 kids get out June 18th. So we still got a little stretch to go. Um so I'll go ahead and start with our um April budget report. Uh we have funded enrollment for April 94 children and then the actual enrollment we dropped down to 92. Uh and then of course we replaced the two children. So we're back at 94 month of May. Um the average daily attendance for the month is at 81. Number on the waiting list is at 30. Number of transitions 39. Number of pregnant women five. Our health checks are up to date at 94%. Shots are up to date

at 100%. Monthly reportable health incidents at zero. Number of children with disabilities is at 12. Staff training activities three. Parent involvement activities 8. in kind reported at $41,526. We have one Walmart expens which was $113.32 and our January through December uh 2026 year to date is there but I'll focus on the April amount which is $184,416.111 for the month of April. And then if you turn there, you'll see that reflected for total expenditures for April. And then our January through April budgeted amount is there. And then you see the total expenditures from January to April at $716,620.25. And our total incumbrances year to date is going to be at $24,85150. Do you all have any questions? >> I don't. No, we don't have >> and then I'll give you my little jingle. >> So, my

babies are graduating. If we have a graduation, we have some invitations for you. If you'd like to stop in and uh take part in that, feel free. Um it's going to be at 10:00 a.m. on June 18th. Here we are. >> We need a motion to set the stop report as presented. Make a motion to accept the early head start report as second. >> Second. >> Motion is second. >> Which one? >> Thank you all. >> Okay. Thank you. Let's vote. Thank you. Thank you. >> Is there anything else report? >> Um don't have a report. Just to give you I think Miss Nelly has shared all the the list of all the honors programs that are upcoming, but just a reminder of the senior honors night tomorrow night at 6 p.m. >> Oh, 6

p.m. >> You all will be presenting the scholarship for the Johnny M. Jenkins recipients. Okay. And then we uh also an invitation to join the high school uh Friday morning for the 9th through 11th grade um honors. >> And then that's all. Okay, I have a couple minutes worth of Thank you. Well, at this time, we need a motion to enter. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for coming. We need a motion to enter into executive session to discuss personnel for other business. >> Make a motion to go into executive session. >> Second motion and second spoke by show of hand. We all agree. Thank you. Good evening. Byebye. >> Make five copies of it. >> Sure. >> Oh jee. M pepper.
