You don't know. [Music] Tell me what they have. She has the biggest [Music] Not happy. You want this [Music] by confused. Oh yeah. [Music] Favorite [Music] I didn't know what to talk about. Are you going to record? I'm going to record you. I'm going to record. [Music] Oh, I have [Music] Good evening everybody. We'll be starting in a couple of minutes, but uh before we do, I want to encourage anybody uh who wants one, please go help yourselves. We have an amazing array of desserts over there on behalf of Mr. Kokinsk's uh culinary class that produced it for us. Uh please go. service. Please go grab a drink, grab a plate, settle in, and we'll get started in just a couple of minutes. Thanks for joining us. I just got to cook. I just got
to cook. Let me pull another chair. Hold on. Wow. What happened? I see one. [Music] I don't know. It was [Music] That two seconds ago. We were like one [Music] Say it. Say the right one. [Music] What? You think you're [Music] Good evening everybody. My name is Kelly Hammer. I'm the director of student activities here at High School and I would like to welcome all of you to our annual celebration of our clubs and activities. Uh this is the 2025 EHS activities awards. This is a great opportunity uh that we have each year for our adviserss um to uh recognize and celebrate those students whether they're freshman seniors um who have done amazing things in terms of contributing to the development to the excellence um to the um building and growing of our clubs in
these extracurricular spaces. Um and every year we look forward to this because it's a great chance uh to reflect on everything that our students have been able to do this year and every year. Uh they do it in the name of the school, in the name of each other, in the name of making this a great place to go to school. And so we feel very lucky for the work that they do for art clubs and activities each year. So thank you to our nominees. Um I'd like to just start with a quick uh thank you. I want to thank all of our uh reps for coming out tonight. I'd like to thank our adviserss for being here, our families for coming out and for supporting. Um our administration, Miss Lenny is with us tonight.
Miss, Miss Jared, they are always constantly supporting our clubs and our programs and what whatever asks we make. They say yes. Uh Dr. Bogus is here, Dr. Gentile earlier. It's great to see them and we know that their support is constantly continual. Um we've got um uh Mr. Ludas with us uh tonight and Miss Bton. Yeah, I taught her kids. I taught her children and I just had a brain freeze up here and I was practicing in the bathroom. So, you know what? say anything. Uh but thank you Miss B for coming. Thank you Mr. Ludas. The board is always and every year so incredibly generous uh to our clubs and activities in terms of making things happen. um whatever we ask um their support is um something that we can always rely on and
it's one of the reasons why when you look at the extracurricular spaces here at preschool the growth every year one after the next after the next more kids get involved more people are participating our programs go the kids come they initiate they say can we do this can we build a club for that um and the answer from our administration from our board from our community is always yes and what an empowering thing that is for our students to So on behalf of everybody who benefits from that, thank you very much. We're going to ask each of our adviserss to come up and present to their club uh recipient tonight. Um the program is listed there for you. We'll start with our writing design and competition programs, our special interest programs, performance programs, and then
our school and service. The advisors will simply come up. We'll provide a little bit of toast for your students. Um, and then we'll present them with their certificates. And so we'd like to begin tonight's presentations with the art. [Applause] Hi, I'm Sarah. I am the advisor. Um, my award tonight goes to Tiana Lewis. I first met Tiana when she was in my craft class last semester and I knew right away that she had a great talent for art. Um, so I was excited to see her when she showed up when art club started a couple weeks later. And not only that, she also brought a couple of talented friends with her as well. Um, I knew that she was dependable and trustworthy even as a freshman when she uh came to promote our club for
back to school night and somehow even managed a few of the artworks her and her friends made during art club. Um, I'm excited to see what she brings to art club for the next four years. [Applause] Hello, good evening. My name is Weber. I teach ceramics here at High School and I run the EHS club. My award tonight is going to Shave has been an integral member of play club this year. I first started working with Shade in the course of last year. Uh during that course, she really started showing me extreme leadership qualities. I still to this day keep thinking she's a senior and she's a junior. The leadership qualities really showed during that course. I do not usually do group projects in ceramics and decided to try a class chess set and she
really stepped up and helped with organizing that and getting that together with the other students and I really started seeing some great things from her there during clay club this year. She continued to progress in her work on the wheel independently. I was seeing much progress with that um in her improvement on her pieces she was throwing on the wheel and also trying out new glazing techniques like that. Really, she should be splitting my uh stipen for the clay club because that's how much of a help she was with me helping me keep track of beginner students in clay club and who needed a late bus pass at the very last minute before they ran out the door. So, I appreciate that. We are a fairly newer club at Union High School. Play club has
been here for about four years. Um, so we've been getting many more interested members coming in, newer members coming in. So, Sh has been very helpful with um helping out the beginners, making sure they know where things are and starting the studio. I feel very lucky to have Shai Play. Um I'm very appreciative of all of your hard work this year and I would be very honored if you would come back again next year as a senior and um that would just be amazing. So thank you so much and present this award to you. Please come on up. [Applause] Hi everybody. My name is Kelly Kennedy. I teach juniors journalism and I advise the newspaper club. So typically the newspaper award is given to an upper classman who has stood out as a key member
of the journalism club. But this year I am breaking that tradition and awarding this honor to sophomore Christian joined a club at the beginning of his freshman year and has been the most productive um active member since joining. He regularly attends meeting and he has produced more articles, written more articles and had them published than any other student. He has a dozen articles up on the website right down to work and often writing and publishing the same day as our meetings which I don't know if you guys are familiar with the movie all the president's men older people right right story of how they exposed water on class right um Christian reminds me of them they were junior reporters just as they were called and they were want to be pulled from the article and
somebody the editor editorial board like no but they're hums they're workers and that's what Christian reminds me of he'll be in a meeting and I'll be like all right let me know when your article's done he's like it's done it's good it's you know he comes in he gets down to business he writes he embodies the meaning of high school journalism finding your passion finding your voice he utilizes the written form as a means of selfexpression and as a mode of diving deeper into what he's truly passionate about Christian's articles whether discussing movies they're informative and They're enjoyable to read. His writing skills have grown greatly in the last two years and I look forward to seeing and being part of your continued success here at Yuing High. Um, and as a member of our
sorry our newspaper club Ying [Applause] Good evening. My name is Mr. Haynes and it is the other advisor of robotics club. Tonight we are honoring bring him up his accolades up. has been on the robotics team for two years and this year took on the role of technical manager which small basically he was in charge of building making sure the robot functioned and when I say when the robot broke because it broke um he was in charge of repairing it got back on the field. And I say uh for no small fee, the robot went back on the field every single time. We didn't miss one week and a lot of that is due to Ezra and his dedication and commitment to working on the robot. He has no power to the technical management. Ezra
gave us 110% of his time and commitment and we say that as a factual thing because that's not figurative. That's literal. We have the data to prove that he was at the meetings for over the hours that he was meant to be there which is absolutely great. Shows his dedication. Uh he's planning to move on to Ruckers after this and planning to go in the field of astrophysics. probably a little bit harder than a lot just just slightly. But no, we really appreciate everything that Edon did this year and we appreciate everything is going to miss him, but we hope that he comes back, visits us and tells us of his great achievements that achieve the master faces. Thank you. I'd like to invite Emily Who's my SARS? Emily is one of the hardest hardest
workers um that I have on our yearbook staff. And uh your book um as some clubs do go pretty much the same way over here. She's a really nice turn like this really well. there's so many people and everyone's going to be working and this sport starts that activity picks up and then they have to take care of this and the numbers slowly and surely move on and we go in waves right we have times when everybody can shop and we have times when the numbers are more challenging and more difficult to manage but Emily is always there she always finds a way to make herself presence uh she works from home she does things at night online she'll post messages She's committed to sports. She's in her honors classes. She has a tremendous schedule
that she's balancing. And yet, she prioritizes yearbook because she knows the value of creating this piece, this work that so many kids, so many people in the building, so many staff invest in, they look forward to, they value. And she takes that to heart. She takes that very seriously. She's got a lovely critical eye in terms of layout and design. Um, she is very independent in the work that she does. I incredibly lucky to know that she is one of my senior school who will be coming back next year. Um and just to incentivize that uh the annual recipients their certificate but gets the first edition of the 2020 [Applause] Hi, I'm Hutchinson and I'm the adviser for coffee and tonight's recipient is Leslie. [Applause] So, I had the pleasure of throwing my not only
the adviser but biology and he's currently my friends to see each other a lot. Okay. So, coffee is studentled basically faith-based group and Leslie's been in charge of it for three years, right? Three years. He is a young man with amazing leadership ability whose commitment to call people's soul has inspired many of sorry under to explore their faith and spiritual journeys. His faith is evident through his actions. His sense of humor and bright smile encourages others to share participate in group discussions. Leslie leads by example and accepts will not be the same. I'm not going to [Applause] Hello everybody. My name is Arten here at New High School and uh tonight I'm proud to honor the man whose culinary skills left me sautéed, plain, and a little bit glazed with admiration. 108. [Applause] All right.
Now, when David joined the culinary club, he was just another whisk toing hopeful with dreams of special glory and su serenity. But tonight, he's the top truffle, the culinary commander of control chaos. David, I've seen you Julian with the precision of a surgeon and flom with the enthusiasm of someone who probably shouldn't be a fire. Uh, you need dough like an OG and you fold egg whites so delicately I have to expect soft music to start playing. Your leadership in the club has been the secret ingredient to our success. You spice things up when we got land. You cheists are boiling over in the kitchen and always knew when to let things simp. Your uh this award is just a celebration of your culinary chops. It's a thank you for your countless times of leadership
allowing you get through allowing me to get you another meeting and not just microw. It's also a tribute to your warmth, your humor, your uncanny ability to turn any clothing into an episode 100% less. Uh, so here's to you, Dave Barini, our top chef, master of marinades, Baron Boss, and now official holder of the culinary club spatula award. Your suitcase never fall, your sauces never break, and your fridge always be stocked with something weird but useful. You want to have a tea? [Applause] I am TJ Dens. I'm the film club adviser. Um, tonight's film club award or I guess Oscar goes to Harley Prior. My speech anyway. I won't run over time. I promise. So throughout the year, Harley was an active participant in our club. And as much as we try to get a
wide selection of films that we assume students have not seen or might not understand their relevance historically to cinema or why they are still critically acclaimed, I believe Harley had seen just about and brought knowledge to the table of every single one. Um Harley also excelled at bringing knowledge through anime's contribution to film to our club. And as much as I am still not a fan of anime, I always want students to challenge themselves to learn and teach even if they don't enjoy the content. And so since I would prefer not to be a hypocrite on that note, it was great being talked about anime and its contributions. Even if I did not enjoy the film or the genre on a personal level, what I'm sure Harley and I can both agree on is that
we can take her leave watching 2001: A Space Odyssey again for a very long time. So without further ado, She is not here. Please do another round of applause. I am of the gaming club and this year honoring someone new to the club joined in earlier in the school When I first met him and comment on the name of shows, he is not a special agent. He's very close to that name. He watch Jack Bowers. Um came into club with an eagerness and willingness to do whatever he could to support the club. From the start, he brought in some new members of the gaming club early. really grown uh tremendously. Anytime we needed uh anytime we needed an event to be broadcast or a fire to be made or someone to help run make things
flow, Jack always stepped up to do so. You know, aside from one of the things that gaming can teach us is communication, leadership skills. Um and Jack showed that coming into gaming. Um one of the quotes um in the anime is that if you don't take risks, you won't be able to create a future. And for Jack, he took a big risk by coming into gaming club. I've seen him open up out of the shop and use that as a way to find something that he enjoys. I hope you're able to take that and keep taking healthy risks um to be able to expand yourself and create that future for yourself. And Jack, thank you for being a part of it. Love you. Hi, I'm Victoria. Um, when a group of students came to me
and said they needed a model advisor this year, I was very honest with the fact that I would be learning right alongside them. This year has been one of growth, both mindset and developing an outline for to come. Thanks to their dedication, we were able to hold events out of ant schools, helping to educate students on Earth Day and World Freedom Day. Throughout the preparation for these events and planning for next year, multiple students who show the extreme dedication to the startup of this club. Tonight, we are honoring the student who has attended every meeting, even amongst other obligations in the school and has taken a strong leadership role in preparing materials and planning for our first. This student is always bringing new ideas, thoughtful insights and creativity to everything he does. Amidst developing membership,
Lex has never failed to attend the meeting, always making event a priority in his extracurriculars. Lex played a large part in develing the for each event often working on it both during and outside of L is a student that is always willing to jump in and volunteer to do something including being an actor in one of our activities for Lex is responsible charismatic and dedicated to things he puts his mind to we're excited for the opportunity [Applause] Good morning. Good morning. See, good morning. Okay. All right. Hello everybody. I am going I have my speak English, but you know what? I'm going to respect the And I'm going to speak in Spanish here. [Music] This is Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Brian says satisfied. [Applause] I'd like to have Sydney and join me, please. our uh
our athletic trainer, Miss Odell, also runs our sports medicine club. She couldn't be here this evening, but she asked me to share a few words about Sydney. Sydney Gonzalez has been a member of the sports medicine club for the past three years. She's eager to jump in whenever help is needed and always around. She's been nothing but helpful and an absolute pleasure to be around for these last years. I know that whatever path she chooses to go down in the future, she will excel at. Thank you, Sydney, for all you have done, and we appreciate all you have done for the club. We appreciate what you have done for her more than you know. Congratulations. [Applause] I am also the advisor of [Music] unifi. Unifi club is a socially inclusive club where all students of
all abilities work together. We participate in a variety of activities including sports, leadership, volunteer opportunities, but most importantly we are building fresh. We had an amazing year with an increase in members and allowing us to do even more for inclusion in our school. The students receiving award have gone above and beyond with participation club representing unified at various service events and always being a ray of positive growth to those around them. They have taken initiative in each meeting helping others and educating themselves onion and respect for people with disabilities. This year's recipients are Morgan French and Angel. [Applause] All right. Morgan and Angel's dedication in attending each meeting and event throughout the past few months have truly allowed them to shine. They are the first people to volunteer and do so with enthusiasm. In every
meeting, Morgan looks for opportunities to make sure every student is included and offers support and encouragement through every activity. Angel is an active participator in all activities with his contagious smile, fun facts about every topic under the sun and creative insights. He makes friends with everyone he meets and makes everyone included in the conversations. Congratulations for your outstanding dedication and promoting our school community. Congratulations Angel on this well served award. Okay, this next award is for the International Thespian Society. The International Thespian Society is an honor society that recognizes the spirit of the who was the first person to appear on stage as an actor. The society seeks to honor the art of the theater in all its forms and strives to encourage students to be the artist they were meant to be. Siri Blue
embodies this spirit and has been an integral part of the program this year. This year she has become more involved in the productions and has always been excited to bring new ideas and opportunities to the table. Syria the annual New Jersey festival this year and took full advantage of every possible opportunity to learn and grow as a performer while other people were just sitting on their films. Her growth within the program has also earned her spot as our new vice president this year and we're so excited to see what she accomplishes. [Applause] Hello everybody. My name is Mr. Winter. I am the tech support here at Erie High School and occasionally they also let me teach choir which is very cool. Uh today I am presenting the chamber orchestra award. Um Miss TR cannot be
here this evening. She is having a child who will be very soon. So we are all very excited for her. Uh so this award will be presented to E Hawkins award. So there are lots of eyes in here. So for the next two minutes I am Mrs. I have had the pleasure of working with Eevee since she was in the sixth grade and have seen her excel in many different ensembles over the years. Most recently being the high school orchestra, pit orchestra, and symphony orchestra. Ed is an outstanding bass and electric bass player who leads with her musicianship. She has always been a reliable, dedicated, and an essential member of our ensembles. Ed's hard work and dedication towards our relatively new after school symphony group is a much appreciated and as she has set the
bar high for all future musicians at congratulations. [Applause] All right. Hello everybody. My name is Jessica Vanudi and I am the color guard instructor here at New High School. Color Guard is a group of dedicated performers who bring energy, color, and excitement to each March band performance using flags, dance, and new this year, Sabers. and outfits. In fact, they help bring music to life in a powerful visual way, adding a whole new dimension to the show, making the band's performance even more engaging and unforgraceful. This year's color on award goes to an individual who is extremely dedicated to the program. She was the first of our grade to sign up. She bravely auditioned for and performed an incredible solo in this year's show with that saber, and she always volunteers her time to help promote
the group. She is a wonderful captain and I am so lucky to have her for two more years. So, Kayla, come on up. Watching Hay Rose for has been one of the highlights of this year. All right, this next award is for the drama club. As the president of the drama club, she seems to be the obvious choice for this award, but she not only excels in the position, she also exceeds the expectations and has taken the position and made it her own. has thought of so many amazing ideas for our club and she helps put them into motion so our meetings are successful. Her maturity and drive help sustain the club and her leadership skills have helped her gain the respect of all club members. These last two years of major change have been
a whirlwind but Haley sees every opportunity to better our club and make sure everyone is getting the most out of each and every [Applause] Hello, my name is now Mr. Jason Price. I am the director of bands here at High School and I'm here to present the award for jazz band. This jazz band award is going to Leslie Again, I am reading the words of Mr. Price. So, for the next couple of moments, I will be Mr. Price. Less has been a major force within our music program since he started in elementary school. His enthusiasm for learning and performing music burns extremely bright and are qualities I truly admire about him. He has used these qualities not only to push himself but also his fellow trombonists and the band as a whole. I know Les
will keep music as a part of his life no matter where his journey takes him. I am proud and honored to have had the opportunity to teach him and be a part of his musical journey. His musicianship, leadership, and positive aura will truly be missed in the IMR next year. Congratulations. I continue to remain to be Mr. Price to present the marching band awards to Miss Abby Nichols. Abby has earned this award this year due to her strong dedication to her pursuit of musical excellence, dedication to our program and her fellow musicians and musical leadership. Abby is always one of the first to volunteer to help me in some way and is always willing to help anyone in her section or the band at large. Abby is never one to shy away from a challenge
and won't give up until she has mastered whatever task is challenging her. I am very proud of all she's accomplished so far and I'm very glad we still have her around for one more year. Congratulations, Abby, and keep up the great work. [Music] Okay, now I'm me actually this time. Uh this next award is being presented for the uh musical production performance aspect and today this award is going to sail. [Applause] Recently on Broadway, there has been a lot of talk about underststudies and swings and how they absolutely run the world of Broadway. For without understudies and swings, we would have no shows. They're the ones who are called last minute to step in and fill in for roles. They're the ones who arrive at the theater with 10 minutes notice and have to put
on a show. This year, as Kale's first year in the musical, he undertook an understudy role. And I must say, I've never seen a high school student take the understudy role with such grace. Being told you're in understudy often feels like it is the worst thing in the world. You are second best. But those who know musical theater know that that is not the case. Often times those are the strongest people in the cast. Those are the people who can step in at a moment's notice. Kale was at every rehearsal. Never missed a beat. If he wasn't needed on stage, he was out helping tech people do something, build set, anything he could do to get his hands dirty and get his hands to be a part of the musical. When the time came for
our show, Kayla D was called upon to step in as an understudy and did so flawlessly. He was ready with every line, every step at every musical. Kale, congratulations. Uh this time we are up here for the musical technical theater award. So technical theater covers many parts of theater except for the actual performing whether it's on stage or indeping, sound, props, costumes, set, front of house, etc. And the person who I am speaking for has worked in several areas that are having during high school. They are extremely talented and dedicated no matter the area they are assigned to. This student has shown incredible dedication and always gives 100% including coming to school when they did not do well to ensure that the show was ready to go on. This student has truly become an irreplaceable
part of tech crew. And while I both nominated and volunteered to speak for this person, I really didn't want to because doing so meant that I had to acknowledge that they are graduating this year. This person has been my right hand, has kept me sane, completed tasks that I did not want to, and our shared sense of humor has been a highlight of the year. And please know that you are always welcome to come back and visit or do more of the things that I will want to do. All right. So come on up Eli. This award is for you. Um I I don't know this year, but I'm going to say it anyway. Um this year was my first year involved in musical, and as the supervisor of costumes, I knew I was going
to need a lot of help bringing the show's vision to life. And as many know, I usually approach a new task with lots of stress and overthinking. As we began gathering costumes, I realized we had a major problem. I can't sew. Morgan Rickowski stepped up when I voiced this concern in my drama class and jumped right into altering costumes and making sure everything was ready in time for the opening. Morgan worked countless hours to hem, take in, and add to our costumes and ensured everyone looked amazing. She stayed for the run to make sure that all costume issues were dealt with in a timely manner. And she deserves to be recognized for her major contribution to this year's musical as would not have looked the same without her. She used her creativity and artistic eye
to make sure the costumes always looked fabulous and within the I said it probably 100 times to her, but I'll say it again. I could not have done it without [Applause] Good evening everyone. My name is Miss Aqua. I am the advisor of the BSA club. That's a black student alliance club alongside my co-advisor who could not be here today, Miss Johnson, but she's definitely here in spirit. It is my absolute pleasure to take a moment to honor someone truly except exceptional. A young woman whose leadership, resilience, and heart have left a lasting mark on our school community. [Applause] Stephania's journey in the Black Alliance Club has been phenomenal. She has carried out her leadership roles with great care, organization, and commitment. She has always risen up to the occasion without hesitation, with a level
of and dedication beyond her years. She's not only balanced in leadership, but also in honors classes, keeping a 4.0 GPA, which which means she's she's managing high level academics on top of it all. And yet, she continues to show up, lead with excellence, and represent her peers with pride. I want to highlight her participation in the during the Afro Fest. That's one of the major events that we have every year in February. Um during the time her team did face unexpected challenges that could have easily thrown things off. But instead of backing down, she stood firm. She took charge. She problem solved. She supported her team and made sure that Afro Fest and together with her team went on not only smoothly but beautifully. Her diligence is something I've witnessed time and time again. I
just met her in January, so you can only imagine. It shows in the way she shows up for her peers, her responsibilities, and for the culture she represents with pride. Stephania, thank you for your strength. Thank you for your leadership. Thank you for pro proving that when passion meets purpose, greatness truly follows. We are proud of you. We see you and we celebrate you. [Music] Good evening everyone. I'm Kristen Mitchell. I am one of the class of 2025 advisors along with Miss who couldn't be here. So I had her write it and now I am presenting it. So the class of 2025 would like to recog Emily Orini. Emily has been an incredible contributor. Emily has been an incredible contributor to this success in the class of 2025 fundraising efforts. While there were many deserving
names to recognize, Emily stood out for several reasons that speak to both her character and her commitment. Throughout the year, Emily consistently stepped up. Whether it was working concession stands, loading heavy bags into bags of trucks, she was always ready to help. What truly set her apart was her ability to balance multiple responsibilities while still finding time to show up for her class. Even when she was managing the book for a team, she made a point to be there during busy rushes when help was needed most. What we personally appreciate appreciated about Emily over the years is her go-getter attitude and her simple can do response. Just tell me when and where. She may not have been involved in every in planning every event, but she was always a reliable, willing presence, someone we could
count on. Her honesty about availability, I can't make it that day, but I'll be there for this. Made organizing easier and show a level of responsibility that didn't go unnoticed. Emily didn't show up out of convenience or for perks. She hustled straight from outdoor practices or games because she genuinely cared about supporting her class. Her dedication, hustle, and heart have made a lasting impact. Thank you Emily for the class of [Applause] 2020. Last one for me. Okay. For the class of 2026, we have nominated Na Lena. [Applause] Ni has been instrumental in uplifting and encouraging the class of 2026 to reach new potential each year. She is at every meeting helping to plan fundraisers and bring new ideas to the table to get more students involved. This year she brought an amazing fundraiser idea, the
Valentine's Day crush can fundraiser, and helped make it happen as well. She always steps up to the plate and makes sure the class is on the right track for achieving our goals for senior year. She always gets the word out on the 2026 social media platforms to make sure everyone knows about our events, spirit days, and activities. And thank you for having a wonderful year. Hello, my name is Scott. class of 2027 advisor. Uh it's an honor to be here today to present the school of service award for the class of 2027. This award is recognition to given the student who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the school of community. We are happy to announce Mr. Mon couldn't be here today. Um the recipient of the school service award for class 2027 is Jay Little.
Jayla has consistently shown an exemplary ability in balancing academic excellence with participation in a number of extracurricular activities throughout the school year. We actually had to chase her down because she was so busy to get everything. I was trying to hound her for a list. Um Jayla has been a member of the girls soccer team for the past two seasons. She participates in winter and spring track and field. She served on the sound crew for school musical production. She's a member of the honor symphony and the film club. Jaylen also shows her school spirit commitment to the school community by participating in each and every spirit day volunteering for pep rally events. She also helps out with all the concessions that we did for basketball last year and football this year. She helps the class
0452027 Instagram account in recognition of her ex exceptional achievements and contribution in our great honor to present the class of 27 school service for field [Applause] Christian the adviser for our environment be with us tonight. So, she asked me to share a few words about um our recipient this year. This year's recipient has been an EHS environmental club member since her freshman year and has participated in collection drives, community cleanups, and fundraisers for environmental causes. He's a leader within the club and has always aided recruiting other students to join. He's volunteered his time at back to school nights and on weekends to cleanups. He's contributed innovative, well thoughtout ideas during club meetings on how to improve the sustainability of our school and our community. This year in particular, he has helped lead the collaborative efforts
between our club at the high school and the STEM club at Moore uh and has been uh specifically helpful to push forward a new recycling initiative here at High School. He truly understands the importance of spreading environmental awareness and he will be sincerely missed next year. Please join me in congratulating this year's recipient of the environmental club activity award. Congratulations Christian [Applause] Sura to the stage. [Applause] the key club advisor, Mr. Burley, could not be here. Uh, and with his administration present, I would like to stress this is his speech. Just so we're aware for the record, you ready? Okay. When I first met Issa his freshman year, I did not think there was any chance that he would ever receive the Key Club award. By his sophomore year, it did not even seem in
the realm of possible scenarios. But during his junior year, Issa became more involved with Key Club and started to emerge as a leader. He helped with many of the elementary school activities, food drives, all of the back to school nights, the toy drives, and many of the other activities throughout the course of the school year. This great change was not just a fluke. By his senior year, Issa was showing initiative and responsibility at the meetings and all of the activities. So, it was not a surprise that he was led the president of Key Club by his peers. Issa clearly understands the importance of practicing active citizenship and serving his community. I am truly impressed with the journey that you've taken over the last four years. Congratulations and good luck in college. I'm going to present
the National Honor Society award as well. Mr. I was trying to make it back but I asked him to speak in her place. Uh and come back The National Honor Society is fortunate to have many members who continually model its core principles of scholarship, character, leadership, and service. But only one truly stands apart in our chapter. From the very start, she has exemplifies what it means to be a true leader. She has led our chapter with integrity and always treats others with kindness and with empathy. Under her leadership, our chapter has grown in many ways. She has not only facilitated impactful service initiatives, but has also led by example, devoting her time, energy, and heart to every NHS program. Whether leading monthly meetings or volunteering alongside her peers, she brings people together to serve the
greater good. It is my pleasure to recognize our EHS chapter president as the award winner, Emily Gau or [Applause] Some of the members of Rotary have been involved during my entire time here at High School. Throughout these years, the members have collected items for animal rescue bags for street friends, made mascots and served food at the animal co-ack collected from the annual Thanksgiving food drives, sold cookies to Feration of the Alzheimer's Association, and done so many other things that I can't. In each of these opportunities, students organized and led efforts, developing their skills as community leaders. The student receiving this award tonight has gone above and beyond not only in his senior year, but in all the years he has been a part of Rotary Club. He has held an executive role, volunteered for almost
every event, and has helped complete a lot of behind thescenes work that has helped Rotary Club to become so active and recognized in our school community. The recipient of this award is Ezra [Applause] Ezraman is always present during club meetings, actively taking notes and writing down new ideas that can be developed into larger projects. He helps keep members focused when volunteering, is an excellent role model to others, and without fail is always recognized at best for his dedication to service. Ezra is not always the loudest member, but his quiet diligence and commitment very disturbing. Ezra will be dearly missed next year, but his impact as a Rotary member will not be forgotten by both the members who have gotten to know him next. We look forward to hearing about all the things you'll accomplish in
the future because we all know this world. Good evening everyone. My name is Sean Hack. Um the advisor student council will present the final three awards for this evening. First, please join me on the stage our outgoing co-presidents Ara and Sydney Gonzalez. So the first words that come to mind with these two are infectious enthusiasm. Uh they have great ideas, lots and lots of energy and are both driven by a genuine desire to improve the school for everyone around them. What's make their partnership as co-presidents so wonderful from my perspective is that they've applied that energy and drive into different projects within the student council portfolio. And so we've been able to do a lot of things in a ton of different spaces because we have two go-getters who are just going after it in
all these different ways. And so I'm going to take a couple minutes and talk about each of them individually. Not too long, I promise. We're going to start with Sid. Sid is the walking embodiment and physical manifestation of school spirit. She's been our pep rally DJ. She manages both the SuKo and the EHS decisions uh Instagram accounts, which are which are pretty demanding tasks and we have lots of pretty fun things coming into the uh direct messages. Um, and you hand that with much grace. Uh, her work this year was really a culmination of four fantastic years in student council. Um, couple quick examples to shout out. Uh, last year we were doing our annual PI teacher fundraiser on Pi Day and Sid came to me during the event and was like, "We need to
pie the seniors next year." And she did not stop. It was like like a dog in the bone. And this year we we pied seniors and it was massively successful. I'm sure we'll be pinging seniors from now till eternity. It's a legacy project. Um the other big thing we started with March spirit week uh doing daily spirit uh participation stands with spirit cards at lunch giving away concert ticket raffles. It's taken off. We've done the last few spare weeks. Another thing we're going to be doing forever and ever. I think it's a fantastic addition to to what we do and you can really draw a straight line from like hey let's try this crazy idea you know mentality to a lot of events this year senior sunrise and senior sunset. Um let's just say the
sun will not be setting on our impact at uh high anytime soon. We will certainly miss her next year and wish her the best of luck at Penn State first. Thanks for a great Now, as for Alamade, Alama is always willing to step up and meet the challenge of the moment. My favorite example of this was during homecoming uh when I asked Alamade if she wanted to announce the winners of the homecoming court on the microphone. Now, I did not imagine she was going to say yes. you know, it's grabbing a mic at a dance with like 500 people. I thought for sure that was going to be intimidating, but I was like, "No, I got this." And she gets on the mic and you'd think she'd be doing this like her entire life. At
one point, she was like hyping up the crowd. I thought we were going to hear like some air like sirens coming out of her mouth. Like it was it was a great moment just really embracing the challenge and like making the best in that particular moment. Loved it. Um, last spring when she came to us, she had this idea we should do SAT study halls. And this year in October, we did the SAT study halls every Monday. Um, and that's really impressive for us because October can often times be very busy with spirit week and homecoming. We get distracted, but Alam is like, "No, we need to make sure we're focusing on this really important thing." And that's what she's done all year long. Make sure we stay focused on important things, things that are
going to help us open up doors and opportunities for all of our students. Um, she's initiated multiple conversations just on her own, talking to Miss Sabo and the EHS administration, talking to Dr. Bogus, board members, and saying, "Hey, how can students be more involved? what can we do to help make decisions, which is exactly what we want to see student council leadership doing. Um, she's been working on an alumni survey, which I promise we are going to finish in the next 10 days before you leave. Um, and she's also one of the founding members of Bilingual Buddies, which is a program we've developed to uh help meet the uh the needs of our multilingual learners. It's going to be probably one of the most important things we ever make. Uh, so I'm really excited to
see where that goes. So, thank you so much, Alamate, for all the great work. Harvard is very lucky to have you. I'm going to ask S and up here for a minute while we bring our final award recipients uh up to the stage. The new president student council, Valentina and Gong Groas. So Val has been StuCo since freshman year and for me there was a really like defining moment on her journey from becoming like a member or like just like a sophomore officer to being junior vice president and now our president. Um it was the day of Friday nights it was like two years ago and we had just like finished bringing the new officers in. We're talking about hey we're going to be looking for people to step up and it's after school ready
to do setups and Valu like appears and she's like Mr. remember I'm here. I'm stepping up. This is the time I'm stepping up. And Valve with all the setups. And ever since then, she just found this upwards trajectory of like, I want to do more. I'm going to do more. And she's there every single week. Had the best uh attendance this year. She's really like the glue holding all the pieces of student council together. And her fingerprints have been on every single thing that we've done in the last two years. Uh my little buddies was really her idea. We just kind of took it and ran with it. I'm super excited to see where you and the rest of our officers take us here. The sky is truly the limit. And so at this time,
what I'd like to do, we're kind of bringing back a tradition from old. I'd like to ask Alam and Cindy as their last official duties as student council presidents to formally present Val with the honorary key to Euing High School. [Applause] Now is where now as you mentioned that you know in addition to being student council president also the Rotary club president the NHS president. So the key is in really good hands and as we officially say thank you and goodbye to all cityo perspective we'd like to send them on their way with just a small token of our gratitude for all their hard work. We have some replica keys that you will be taking with you. We sincerely hope that in the time here you and I will continue to unlock doors for you.
And that ladies and gentlemen is going to conclude our evening. Thank you so much for coming. Yeah, you can clap it up. [Applause] Yeah. Before we leave, we're going to ask that all of our award recipients um join us over there. We'd like to get a couple of photos. Give parents and families an opportunity to get a couple of uh photos. Um, but before we do that, again, uh, one massive thank you huge toinsky and his crew and his culinary team. Uh, there are little takeaway trees, so if you, you know, might something, feel free to take it for the road. And, uh, thank you to all of our students who were recognized. Thank you to the families. Thank you to our board members and our administrators. And thank you to the adviserss for the
work that they put in day in day out into making these clubs so successful. I hope to see you all next year. Thank you very much. Thanks so much.
