Members of our chapter will now share more about each pillar. Please welcome Alamade Adqua. [Applause] Thank you. Martin Luther King Jr. in the purpose of education wrote, "The complete education gives one not only power of concentration but worthy objectives upon which to concentrate." To us, this means hours dedicated to reading and study and a

focus on the lasting benefits of a cultivated mind. Scholarship denotes a commitment to learning gain through experiences both in and out of the classroom and continuously looking for opportunities to gain more knowledge. Being a National Honor Society member strengthens your commitment to expand your curiosity and continue your journey towards becoming a lifelong learner. For Emily Gambo Radini, our NHS president, this means challenging herself with AP classes at school and leading as a captain of her soccer team. For me, this meant challenging myself with AP classes as well, but also pursuing internships for Congressman Bodat Coleman and also other local nonprofits. This exemplar scholarship also extends to each current and incoming member of the UI High School National Honor Society. of our current members. We have students looking to further their education at renowned universities including

the California University of Pennsylvania, Emerson College, George Washington, Hofra, Harvard, Lehi, Lyola University of Chicago, NYU, Penn State, Rowan, Ruckers New Brunswick, Sean Hall, Stockton, TCJ, University of Delaware, Worth Institute of Technology, and Xavier University of Louisiana. As a chosen representative of scholarship here tonight, it has been an honor to work alongside these 22 intellectuals who challenged themselves in the classrooms and also excelled in sports, art competitions, musical editions, and so much more. I'm sure the new inductees bring nothing less than this scholarly zeal and tenacity to our chapter membership. And as they begin to as they begin this new journey, we look forward to seeing them continue the tradition of scholar success at EHS excel in the classroom and beyond. Now, please welcome [Applause] Ezra. Good evening everybody. Character is the force within the

individual that distinguishes each person from others. It creates for each of us your individuality, our goodness. Every day your character is displayed in your actions and the choices you make. It is seeing the respect you have for yourself and the respect you give to others. It is this force of character that guides one through life and once developed grow steadily within. Character is achieved and not received. It is the product of constant thought and action. The daily striving to make the right choice. The strive for good character is the strive for self-control. We must be in reality we wish to appear to others to be rather than to seem. By demonstrating such qualities as respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and citizenship, we may hope to prove by example that we value character. This chapter of

the National Honor Society has confront good character dur sorry through our appreciation of Yung High's principles, teachers, and staff members and the dedication towards happiness of the student body. Members of their chapter have spent many hours tutoring their peers in a variety of subjects and have provided advice both in and out of the classroom. Each day, the members of the National Society pave the way for good character in our community. And while this generation of human kind's time is coming to an end, we will continue to be good. We will continue to be examples of good character in the communities we embrace in the future. and we know our inductees will continue where we left off in being examples of good character in New Township. Thank you. Hi My name is Sydney Gal and I'm

speaking on leadership. Leadership should exert a wholesome influence on the school and taking initiative in the classroom and in school activities. Setting the example in your words and deeds to motivate others to follow. It is about engaging people while guiding their direction to a common goal. A leader has self-confidence and will go forward when others hesitate. No matter what power and resources may exist in a school, community or nation, they are ineffectual without a guidance of a wise leader. NHS members are leaders in and out of the classroom. The current chapter members of NHS have contributed to the betterment of EHS in the UN community as a whole through leadership. From creating empower Her which added positive messages and hygiene products in the student bathrooms to organizing a code drive for those in need and

to cleaning up our community in their free time. You have set positive examples of leadership for others to follow in years to come. Please welcome Jake Mayona. [Applause] Service can be defined as an act of voluntarily giving your time using your skills and talents for the benefit of a community. Through our service efforts as individuals or as a group, we build empathy and we learn more about those in need or crisis. Service also fulfills one of our responsibilities as citizens. As a National Honor Society member, you will be presented with many opportunities and deepen your understanding of service leadership and grow your passion for helping others. My favorite NHS service activities were the Trenton Plates food drive and the Lore Elementary School PTA meetings. For Trenton Plates, NHS members along with many other service clubs

spend the day at Cure Arena packing meals for people in need around the world. I along with many other members I'm sure had a lot of fun and met a lot of new people while serving the community and making a difference for those in need. The Lord PTA meetings were something I helped organize this year. Each month we spent a few hours watching the children while their parents are able to go to the PTA meetings. We play games with the kids and had a lot of fun. It also helped strengthen our connection with one of our elementary schools and their families. These experiences of NHS service have had a longl lasting impact on me, our membership, and our local communities. Thank you and [Applause] congratulations. At this time, will the new inductees please rise, raise

your right hand, and repeat the NHS pledge after me. I pledge to uphold I pledge to uphold the high purposes of the National Honor Society the high purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected to which I have been selected. I will be true to the principles for which it stands. I will be true to the principles for which it stands. One long-standing tradition of our chapter's induction ceremony is to announce next year's president. A president is chosen by the faculty council during the selection

process. The council seeks out a president who is most excellent model for the four pillars of scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Our Next president was viewed by the faculty council as a well-rounded individual motivated by a genuine desire to help others and to see society advance and grow with compassion and empathy. The council also identified true leadership through this person's efforts to advocate for other students, especially those who feel unseen. It is my honor and my pleasure to announce next year's NH president is Valentina [Applause] This concludes our NHS Dudson ceremony. In a moment, members will pose for a few photos.
