001good [Music] evening welcome to Fisher promotion ceremony I'm deeply grateful that all of you are here tonight to celebrate about 250 students from fiser Middle School's class of 2024 you and high schol school's graduating class of [Applause] 2028 tonight's program will be divided into two parts first we're going to honor the remarkable accomplishments and contributions of our students following that we will promote those who have met the academic and attendance requirements for advancement to the ninth grade though this evening is just a small step in their Journey it is a significant occasion that we will all remember and cherish so to ensure that the ceremony proceeds smoothly I ask that you turn your cell phones on silent and hold your applause until all names are called I do ask that you respectfully hold your applause

003thank you at this juncture I would also like to to acknowledge the president the presence of superintendent Dr David Gentile who will now graciously address the audience for a few [Applause] moments good evening everyone oh come on good evening everybody all right you have to forgive me this makes uh the fourth commencement or step up ceremony in a couple days I've had the pleasure of being at Elementary uh step up for fifth grade I'm sure our eighth graders remember that moment well um and I'm happy to be here uh with you guys tonight to celebrate this momentous occasion where eighth grade become high schoolers so let's give the high schoolers soon to be a round of applause to the eighth graders I want you to take a moment look around and think about all of
004the family members uh your parents your relatives that are all in your camp they're all supporting you helping you get to this moment and give them the round of applause they deserve please your family members will be there with you when you uh succeed they will be there when you stumble and they are going to play a very important role in your lives now as you get older your friends become more important than your parents' opinion I know that firsthand with having two high school students of my own at home let me just caution you make sure that you choose your friends wisely and in this I ask that you stress quality over quantity find people that are going to help you get to where you want to be okay think about [Music] that all
005right and I know we want to get here to the students and celebrate them I won't take up too much of your time but I do ask the eth graders As you move into high school you're starting to get grown you're getting to the point where you really start thinking about your future and what comes next because I will tell you that the next four years come so quickly when I talk to graduating high school seniors the number one thing they tell me is I cannot believe how fast it went and I wish I would have done X or Y all right so think carefully about the things that you're doing and spending time on because those things will become your future people tell you all the time you can become anything you want that's
006not quite accurate you can become anything you work for okay okay so set some goals and then work for them sacrifice work hard if you don't like the outcome so far and you don't like where you are today and you wish that you had uh done better or you had done something differently it's not too late to change but don't keep pushing that change down the road don't keep waiting to do it do it today decide today that you're going to be the best version of yourself and then make some goals close group of friends that are going to help you get there and go for it so I wish you the best of luck it is my honor to be here as part of your celebration and and cheer you on we wish you

012of the late Don Cox senior we have the honor of having his son Don Cox junor here to help present the awards Don Cox uh senior sorry grew up in ying and attended Ying schools he devoted his life to numerous nonprofit and Community organizations in Mercer County also fun fact he organized the Key Club at Ying high school so eth graders please check that out next year uh the two students who are receiving this award tonight were selected by the fiser Middle School awards committee and will be given a letter and a monetary award the U Kanas members would like to wish all the eighth grade students continued success in high school and Beyond this year's recipients are colani Gary and Jackson Harvey [Applause] thank you I have the honor awarding the next three Awards
013the first one is the fiser Middle School outstanding Citizenship Award this award is designed to acknowledge students who are goal oriented enthusiastic respectful of school policies additionally they maintain a friendly and respectful rapport with their peers and faculty and they serve as positive role models within our school furthermore they exhibit pride in being an eagil by positively contributing to the Fisher community the first recipient is Taj [Music] [Applause] MCC the second recipient for the official fiser Middle School outstanding Citizenship Award is Julia Zusi the next award is the fiser Middle School human relations award this award was created to encourage and recognize student behaviors that promote good human relations here at fiser middle school and within the unan community students who are honored with the human relations award exemplify Fisher's commitment to diversity and positive
014interpersonal actions with others regardless of religion ethnic or socioeconomic background or ability this year's recipients were selected based upon their outstanding character sense of others and selfless Behavior the first recipient is Maya Pegram the second recipient is Michael Gamboa [Applause] or the next award is the Fisher Middle School Integrity award this award is designed to recognize students who are honest sincere responsible dedicated determined and caring the student aims to do the right thing knowing that nobody's going to know whether or not they did it the first recipient is n bu malab the second recipient is Naisha [Applause] Doral good evening I said good evening even so I have the honor of acknowledging the PBIS award now this award recognizes a student who has diligently adhered to our sore core values at Fisher Middle School this
015student excels in leadership serving as a peer mediator effectively assisting classmates in resolving conflicts encouraging Positive Choices and she created an overall safe environment now this student is also being recognized for using self-regulatory skills to their emotions while setting an example for others please note we're not highlighting Perfection but this students commitment to becoming a better human being and it truly was a privilege watching them evolve as a sixth grader until now an eighth grader and that person is none other than Faith Settles the Fisher Middle School Eagle Award this prestigious Eagle Award is designated for an exemplary students who personify sword safety ownership achievement and respect these students are exceptional role models for their peers they are highly motivated and committed to their academic behavioral social extracurricular and personal goals these students possess exceptional
