traditional wedding bells in the british culture so this is something that you might expect to hear should you go to a british wedding when they ring the church bells at the beginning to signal the beginning of the service each of the set of bells and set of chimes are supposed to match a dignitary that walks down the aisle of the church whether it be the royal court uh king queen some sort of duke or or whoever it might be uh and i i really thought it was it's such an ethereal really beautiful sound and so interesting uh for for a wedding and an awesome feast now the next piece might come as a surprise to many old lang zine a lot of people associate this with new years and it is a long time away
from new year's but what i find this piece to really mean is a celebration of endings and new beginnings and at this moment i would like to celebrate a person who is ending their time with us and starting a new beginning so i would like to recognize our sole senior of handbell stephanie frolio [Applause] stephanie will be going on to study biomedical engineering at tcnj so another round of applause for stephanie and her four years of incredible devotion to this group [Applause] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Applause] ah [Music] so [Music] hey [Music] [Applause] oh before we get our next piece there's a lot of people i would like to thank i'd like to start with all of the you who are in the audience today the parents and the friends
who support their students so incredibly without you none of them would be here and none of them would be so willing to make the incredible music that they share with you tonight so number one thank you to you number two i'd like to thank all of the ewing high administration who make all of this possible thank you to mr shmeel who i know i saw today and all of the assistant principals who aren't with us today and all of the the staff and faculty here at ehs i'd also like to thank the district administration i know i saw dr ishibashi and mr niddy here with us today so thank you to the two of you who do such an incredible job as patrons of the arts so thank you for all you do to help
our kids be successful and lastly thank you to the ewing high board our ewing school district sorry board of ed and all that they do to be champions of the arts and you know giving us things like this incredible auditorium space where our kids get to make such amazing music so if i can have a round of applause for all of those people yourselves included thank you so much [Applause] our final piece for the handbells that we're going to leave you with today is a piece called dona nobis pachem uh donadobi's pachem translates to peace on earth and we found this one very poignant this year uh so much so that we would like to dedicate this piece of music to all those who have been victims of gun violence in the united states everyone
across the world as well who have found themselves victim to to such a terrible and tragic event especially in light of recent events in our world and in our country you'll notice that this piece starts off very serene and very simple and then very quickly builds into a sort of chaos and as you'll notice this chaos starts to disappear as we find our own piece and what that means for ourselves so we hope you enjoy our final piece of the evening dona nobius pacha [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] bye [Music] so [Music] so [Applause] so foreign [Applause] africa [Music] stimulus foreign [Music] [Applause] south africa [Applause] the selection you just heard was entitled shosholoza a south african freedom song that depicts the sounds of trains as they move on their journey through south africa train
being the symbolization of freedom and escaping oppression and so in that middle section when you hear the stimulus that's supposed to be the sound of the train as it chugs along on its course and you heard soloist jaden white [Applause] [Music] [Applause] our next selection will be 16 tons 16 tons [Music] some people say a man is made out of mud a poor man's made out of muscle and blood muscle and blood and skin and bones a mind that's weak and a back that's strong you load 16 tons what do you get another day older and deeper in debt saying peter don't you call me cause i can't go i owe my soul to the company [Music] i'm oh [Music] saint peter don't you call me cause i can't go [Applause] to the company [Music]
[Applause] now before we move on to our final selection i have some very special people i would like to acknowledge in this group as well our seniors who have been with us through thick and thin who are on to greener pastures now but we'll always call ewing their home starting in the soprano section anaya glover moving on down we have fatima nadier into the altos we have kiara sickles [Applause] and last but certainly not least amira bogger [Applause] seniors i know i speak for everybody in this room when i say i am so grateful for your musicianship for your demeanor for your attitude for everything that you brought to this group this year and in years past so from my heart thank you so very much and good luck [Music] your children are not your
