001All right. So, first of all, um, my name is Laura Zimmerman. I was a teacher in the district. I'm a parent in the district. I felt a lot of the emotion tonight. We had over a hundred plus community members. And we just want to say thank you so much for engaging in these conversations. These are important. We recognize tonight that what we were what we were proposing, what we were asking is is a bit of a a generational shift. And we want to acknowledge that the core message from this evening is that there are no final decisions that have been made yet thus far. And so we appreciate everyone bringing their perspectives to the table. We heard you loud and clear. Um so we uh one of the big takeaways is that you know we
002do have a budget reality and so we know that we have a responsibility to address that those current budget realities. Um that so the necessity of rights sizing for long-term financial stability will continue to be a conversation. Um we just are going to slow down uh any implementation of that. So, um, we just want to let you know that any timelines, uh, for all of this is going to be extended. We need proper preparation time, planning time. Um, and so we heard we heard you there. Moving forward, the board has committed to extending our timelines for adequate prep and planning um, for any cost reductions that we are going to make that um, will directly affect students and staff in the buildings. Um, and so we had uh we had all those options put at
003the table tonight. Um, I'd encourage you to watch the well the full video is pretty long, but but if you uh go ahead, you'll see that we talked about a lot of different budget reduction options that we can we can make and we have to decide on in the coming weeks. Um, we also talked about a resolution uh that was brought before um our governor and our state legislators about urging the state to fully fund public schools and begin to f phase out uh the funds uh for the ESAs currently.
