You should be inspired as well. All right, I'm going to call the meeting to order. Everybody, please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you everyone. Uh I will do this tonight. So we are I will read the mission. We will empower a community of lifelong learners who strive for personal excellence through meaningful relationships and real world authentic learning experiences. And strategic um priority three expand opportunities for students to develop self-worth and connections to others. Uh conflict of interest declaration. Now is the time to declare if any board member has a conflict, personal conflict with anything on the agenda. Does anybody have anything to
declare? Hearing none, we'll move on to the approval of the agenda. The agenda is presented. Any modifications, removals, or anything need be updated? Perfect. I would entertain a motion to approve the agenda as presented. >> No motion. >> Motion by Ross. Is there a second? >> Second by Jim. You guys get used to this. Okay. We're just going to do this all night back and forth. Okay. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. I was an eye on that, Jill. I will be Yeah. Okay. Uh, visitors and communication from the public. Is there now is the time for anybody that would like to speak to the board? Is public comment? >> Nothing submitted. Anything submitted from anybody? Nope. >> Okay. >> Thank you for that. We'll move on
to information only. Building level reports. >> Yeah. So, Mr. Susman is gone a day. He had a death in the family. So, I did a Marie's family. So, actually grandma, I think. So, he's out today. I think Doug is probably helping with the meal of the concert and stuff like that. So, uh we'll jump with Cam and then Julie's got a little longer one, so I'll let her go second and expand on it for the strategic plan. >> Uh go ahead, Cam. >> So, mine's a little bit a little bit shorter here. I've got other things that are they're later in the agenda. um just opportunities for kids to go do stuff. We're This is a time where we're doing a lot of trips, a lot of visits. Uh college grads doing the DCI crime
lab. There's a picture in there for that. Uh our BLT team, which we'll talk about a little later, finalizing plan for senior presentations. Uh FFA chapter is in a busy time right now. They've got the livestock show Wednesday. had a lot of soil judging, livestock judging competitions the last couple weeks. They're doing a really nice job. Uh [snorts] they were fortunate enough to have the under secretary of agriculture, Richard, right? Uh he came in on Wednesday and visited with our FFA members just about a education and futures in agriculture, which is really neat deal. Uh for the first time since I've been here, we had students take the test for the seal of biiteracy. We have four kids. Um, and we're waiting for the final the final score, but as of right now, it looks
like all four are going to pass or receive that seal. >> Um, from a celebration standpoint, we had two high school students selected as all state artists. >> Um, Jenna Heights and Ava Reef. And then our art show, if you guys kind of that's kind of a neat deal. Our kids do a nice job not only hosting that, but yeah, just running the whole thing as well. So, uh, things coming up. Well, backtrack. Sorry. Great teacher appreciation week. As you guys know, we're really lucky the staff we have at the high school. Uh, care about kids, care about our community, and want to do what's best. So, we're lucky in that respect to have such a great staff. Um, things coming up. We've got Husky Health Day tomorrow, so we should be around town doing
that stuff. Um, Best Buddies Field Day on Thursday. Uh, the awards night is on Wednesday. And then fan casters um convention conference, giving our heart to say it on Thursday as well. And then our seniors really are looking down the barrel of being done and graduation on the 24th. So >> it's crazy. >> Uh what time would you like us there for commencement on the 24th? >> It begins at 2:30. >> What time do you want me there, Mr. Smith? >> 2:00 is great. >> Perfect. >> Do that. I'm chuckling because I just got a text from my child. >> I'll let you know. Okay. In the day, >> he just he just said, "Is Mr. Smith there?" >> If he is, he's the only one with a key to the old concession stand, and
there's stuff in there they need for dinner tonight. >> Oh, yeah. >> They need Okay, >> well, there you go. Hey, >> what I'll do is I'll text him and say, "Have a parent. Can a parent come get it from you? Can you >> The rest of the stuff's later." >> Okay, perfect. >> Be all right. Yeah, I'll leave my stuff here so you know coming >> 2 p.m. on the 24th. Thank you, sir. >> Yes, >> Julie. >> It's way. >> So, I thought tonight I would I mean I wrote something for all four of the strategic priorities there. I'd like to focus I'll get through that then take you back to our building goal because I think that is really um significant for us this year. Uh so several of you were able
to come out and be part of our learning showcase. Either you had a student participating or knew someone. And while we did that, we also had the art gallery. And I know several of you came through on another day to see that. Um projects are still up and going. We're still driving along with 100% of our kids. um being up in front of people and having experiences that are college career life ready. So the wax museum is this week. Um in two weeks we'll have our first ever boat riata and a volume zoo is starting to take shape. So if you come in the animals are >> Oh yeah. >> Um everywhere. So, we we were really excited um about the learning showcase and just really felt like we got really good feedback from teachers
and from parents. I when I wrote this, we I only had enough data to figure out 68%, but I'll get into that with our building because that number jumped quite a bit once I got other numbers coming in. Um, strategic priority number two, if you hadn't heard, we did have a group um through our tech class that submitted a project to a um presidential level um competition. And so they won at the state level. They were one of the groups that had won our state level competition. and they had to present and defend their project to a panel of judges on Zoom. Um, the kids did a great job. It was the April 9th, I think was the elementary conference night >> and I got to watch them present their project, defend kind of what
they were doing and learn stuff that I didn't even know that our kids were doing in tech class with Erica. So, she just does a really nice job with providing kids opportunities um to be self-directed, to be innovative in their thinking, and really the defending their project in front of the judges was huge on their feet critical thinking. The judges had some really good questions and our kids did really well answering those. um they didn't advance on in the competition, but now that we kind of know what it is, Erica is planning for another group. Of course she is. >> She's very good. >> We talked about this I know last month just our CKH recognition but with our fourth quarter walkthroughs being done and that data being collected now. Um our numbers really show
that we're not really even in implementating or implementation phase of CKH. It's really about refining and taking it to the next level. So those things are happening consistently across the board in our classrooms. And when I get into our building go, I'll elaborate just a little bit more. Uh but strategic three and four are the focus of the middle school building goal. Um so I talked about the opportunities our kids had this past month also to make those connections. So I don't have a copy of the building goal for you um but I can definitely share it with you. So when we thought about this year and profile of a graduate and our emphasis on projects and designing learning experiences for kids we really focused on designing something around communication. We wanted um homeschool communication,
that birectional piece and the continuing for kids to um express their sense of belonging. I think those are two key indicators to a student's success if we can get them booked by sixth grade with their sense of belonging and with the communication and relationship with home. when we stand they just go into that secondary um environment much more connected. So that's what we focused on. Our metrics that we used were going to be at parent teacher conferences. So last year our attendance for parent teacher conferences was right around 66%. Uh we did a spin in the fall where we had some traditional and some student le and our fall conference attendance rose to 88%. Which is what we wanted. We wanted to see an increase in that. And then with our spring showcase, and we've
talked about this some because it doesn't look great, we were we went down to 78%. But I think a lot of when we sit and talk about it, it was tiny. Um we were competing with >> it was a busy night. It >> it was a very busy night for things happening outside of school. Um so I think we would have done we could have done better if we were mindful about timing. But so we ended at 78%. But with that my fourth grade overall had 96% of kids get up and go um and prime the dog. So we're super excited about that. So that was one measurement that helps us know about communication, the school communicating and the parents being engaged with us. The other measures for our building goal um come from our
beginning of the year survey with CKH, our monthly survey where we asked kids to point to a memorable moment and then our end of the year survey through CKH. Um and all of those numbers grew this year. Uh so for example our monthly survey I took a just a sample from February and April. So the ones that the kids report to us a memorable moment at school or something meaningful that happened in uh February and fourth grade we hit 86% of our kids felt enacted to school in April. 91%. So all of those numbers look really good. we're we're sitting right around 90% of the building of kids being able to point to something memorable and I would say that is also reflected in our CK age survey. Not all of my students have taken
it yet. So as soon as I have those numbers to do um but our biggest celebration really is that family piece, the family participation in conferences and the family participation in the CKH survey. So we went from 17 responses last year and we hit 45 today. Hearing from our families has been really really meaningful validating to the work that we're doing. question for Julie >> High School construction update. >> Yeah. So, I was hoping to have uh information from Travis to share with you. I kind of alluded to on Friday we met with him. Um, as you can imagine, they're extremely busy uh navigating the uh the change in legislation. Uh we're on the front end of a project. They have several districts that this will cause them to have to refinance their their loans
uh to pay off their project. Um >> so I met with them walk through, you know, the change in the property tax basically that they're going to carve 25% of save revenue off the top for property tax relief by 2031. What does that do for our project? Um can we still afford it? Um after meeting with him, he is suggesting we we extend it out for four years. So from 20 to 24 years on the loan. um that'll drop our yearly payments upfront. Um and then once it picks up after that 25% is gone and grows, he said you can you can always prepay at that point, but it'll help you on the front side to do that. Um we also are going in with a decent balance into these projects that we accumulated knowing
it was coming. Um John I went through the numbers with him. We feel like it's something we can do. Um uh so that was he said he would have me those documents but um he sent me an email at five o'clock on Friday in the morning on Friday morning too. It's just >> it's crazy. >> He is working around the clock you know. >> Yeah. The whole legislative ch it's really >> and u Matt out of their office for like the next two weeks too. So they're so he's busy. Once I get that I'll share it to you. But again we just ran through the numbers again. um put in our you know we're predicting a 2020 20 student decrease in enrollment for the next five years probably level off we built that into the
model um yeah it'll be tight for a few years um but we still think we can do project so anything to add to that Jill that was really what we're hoping to have and I just didn't get it once I get it from I I will pass along for you to see I did because of some of the rebidding of the project we've talked about um it's delaying some of those for going out for bid So that draw down schedule that we gave you on when we need to pay >> it is and so based on that and when the the bulk of those payments will start picking up is October. Um he's suggesting to sell bonds in September. So we'll do some of that work in August and then sell them in in September
when we start to need it. We can cash the project up until that point. Then those funds will reimburse what we we've been paying out of Pebble and save. So that's kind of what I wanted to provide you on that. Yeah, I got more of my update at the end on our meeting last week. So, >> yep. >> Any questions on that? >> Move to consent agenda minutes. We have a set of minutes from our regular meeting on the 13th of April and then from the special session on the 29th. Uh paid bills and invoices. Uh anybody have any questions for Jill on paid bills or Jill, do you have anything that we need to be made aware of on paid bills? Um just looking at the app century is the new software we're using
for the scholarship app. >> Okay. >> We've purchased 3D 3D printers. One was through the foundation and one was um with in high school I believe um >> Gina asked one about bar. >> What's that? >> The one question Gina sent us about um is Andrew Bar >> um yeah not hours um bar and company. That's our fiscal year 27 pre um audit expenses. So, you have to pay out front 9,000 before we even get started for our fiscal year 27 fund. >> Um, >> you pay before they do the work. >> You guys have any other questions on the bills? >> I didn't have any. Kind of a small month. >> Good. >> Only 400. Yeah, only only 443 out of >> uh personnel report. >> Yeah, a lot um a lot going on
right now uh with some hires. So, we've got a lot of those. Uh the contracts obvious coaches are coming up. Um some of these people we've uh had intent to hire. Um and some were recent. So, there were all the new teachers we've hired. Right now, we have one open position. Uh that's family consumer science that we're advertising for. Um but other than that, we've been able to fill the positions that we we had out there. So, >> there's a lot. >> There was Yeah. um you know just some some leaving some retiring um uh all those things a lot of internal shifting this year too I've shared >> moving bodies on transfers so hopefully you've got kept you update on those as well um but yeah that's that's what you got in front of
you >> open enrollment Jill gave us her worksheet there and she's recommending that we approve the four out and the one in >> just and they have met requirements west of Wayne seems to hold on to their open applications since December and then approve them in April. So I think that's why I'm now just getting so let me know that but they so >> okay I don't have it. >> Are you logged in? >> No. >> Yeah, it's hidden. It's hidden. So you have to be logged in to see it. >> No, >> just because it's got it's got kids identify. So >> yeah. Um no wonder financial report. Jill, >> let's see anything else. April was looking is looking a little little better. Um a little underneath the three-year average for um expenditures and
a little above for the revenue. So um that was looking good for that. And then um statement positions um was you know spending slow down a little bit for this past month but again it will pick up here in May and June. So anybody any questions >> dropping right along. All right. contracts and agreements. We have the fiscal year 27 vocational which is uh the strive two contracts there this year. Um >> okay no changes I mean we've done that >> correct >> as we need. >> Yes. Right. I mean as as need this is for our learners. Yep. >> Okay. Um >> teacher learning van meter >> that's sharing with van meter and then the next one sharing >> with with van meter >> y >> and then we learners for preschool >> sharing
library services with >> all sharing I35 I transportation director with >> and then we learners with uh yeah with we learners >> and then SRO >> SRO agreement for the next year >> same as before right >> uh slight increase that salary goes up >> right but I Same >> same verbiage everything else >> same parameters yep uh I Jou uh if you remember we were getting the middle school or junior high for free for two years that's not the case anymore way to pick it up this year 26,000 um we also but to offset that cost we discontinued our contract with Donovan Group >> okay >> that monthly that we're paying um >> so that's about a wash if you're track I mean that's >> if there's 20 yeah >> so um that's what
that as Jun court leaison. So that's um a second amendment. >> This is an amendment because they contacted us that Natalie would like to put a uh purchase an online subscription. Um it's called carry guides. So they just put added $325 or actually 375 for this coming school year and then 325 after that. So it's just an additional and that otherwise everything else is the same. So >> the next one is uh Allen Busky. They did the initial GEO report for us. they um they submitted their bid for the testing during the construction project and so it is over budget um what they projected. Um talking to Reed though he said he thinks they built in a lot more uh travel time to come down and do some testing. They'll coordinate all that with them
and try and double up and bring that back. It's basically they're coming down if they come down um fewer times that will help with the cost. But Reed um after doing still recommends that we approve their bid for that and it kind of outlines what they'll be down to test for. Uh SUIC equipment maintenance agreement. Um this is something that a lot of districts actually put a a front back sheet at your table. Uh one was from Isquis and um they walk through kind of what it is, but essentially you're buying uh it's called break fix insurance. um you can pay out of your management fund uh for the insurance policy uh and then you can submit claims to get reimbured for it um which is if you look uh through that agreement they're covering
lots of things for so the waller agreement that's below a lot of the expense with that agreement we can get reimbursed through this project for um computers uh any uh maintenance that's on the computers time that our guys spend fixing computers we can get reimbursed at $105 $5 an hour >> um rate for when they're working those computers. All of our mowers. >> Yeah. All of our mowers are are covered in this. All of our copers um through access and it works directly with access. The district actually had this in place. >> Nine years ago, maybe >> nine eight nine years ago back when came before I got here as that time you had to have approved use their approved vendor list. Um, you had to get preapproval on lots of your invoices before they
would do it. >> Paperwork was a nightmare. >> It was. And Cammy just at that point it was too much for um her it would have been Matt's predecessor um >> Deb Kaylor >> and uh right there's a lot >> a lot of that is >> a lot of that streamlined um streamlined to make that process a little. So again, it's a way to um offset some of your general fund expenditures um with this insurance. Um and 100 how many districts are in it now, Julie? Remember it says in there >> it's got huge >> 140 districts. >> Yeah. Uh van meter is one that they sent us uh recommendation letters. Um Jill knows Sean really well. I know Darren. They speak highly of the program. So, >> so Jill have to be keep track
of like any hours that we do for fixing. >> So, actually >> it's going to do that >> actually the ticketing system that our maintenance that that our um transport technology department uses and maintenance is going to >> when they submit a ticket they in order to close it they have to go in and put so the time and they want to report at the end of the month and that's what we'll send in. >> So they'll they'll be doing it or is it okay in charge of it I guess? >> Yes, Matt and his crew will and then Ray and his crew as well. the wall dinger. Anything that they do on that break fix that's covered which is on that document and we get the invoice turn around and send it to them
and they'll they'll pay it. >> They'll be coming in for training with all the guys as well before insurance. I know some of those things like you just don't do it because it takes 10 minutes or >> so if somebody's >> We met with Ray and Matt and he they met with Nolan who's our rep and walked them through um Waltwood um what they would need to do. Um and they'll come back on site and do some training with them as well. Um, for example, so if you remember two years ago, two summers ago, we had the compressor go out in the freezer at the elementary and had to just that would have been covered. We would have been able to turn that in and it it would have covered that cost. So, um, annual
something we like to try for this year. If it ends up being not great, we can always pivot, but we think it's a a way to cover some of these maintenance costs we have ongoing and get some of that money back. So >> help the general fund. >> I was going to say it comes out of management instead of general. >> Yeah. So >> any questions on that? >> Okay. Next. Uh wding or maintenance agreements. >> Yes. With us not having uh you know choosing to choose radar. Um we asked them about the preventive maintenance contract and this is what they included. So they came out, looked at all of our units. Ray walked around and actually um in visiting with Ry and uh the technician who's here, I think his name is Ryan, I
think is the guy who's here most of the time. He has indicated if we would maybe do a better job on preventive maintenance. Some of the issues we're having, we wouldn't be having. So, uh thanks that this would be a good deal. Ray went through it with them. Uh covered a lot of what we think we need from them. And so, we're and again we can then turn around and bill it to um the brave fixing stream. So, they've not covered our belts, um, filters, >> consumables. Yep. That we'll have to pay for. And you'll see in the weldering agreement, they've carved that out. Like, if you want to buy it on your own, take this much off of it. If we do it, this is the cost. Um, leave it up to Ray out.
He wants to if he wants to buy them or or just has them bring them. So, any questions on that one? >> Okay. Hearing nothing. That is the last of the consent agenda. I would entertain a motion to approve the consent agenda as submitted. >> Is there a second? >> Second. >> Motion by Jeremy. Second by Ross. All those in favor say I. >> Post same sign. Motion carries. Old business. Second reading of board policy series. The 400 changes. >> Yeah. Had these last month. They didn't change between now and then. >> They have not. um just need the second reading and then Jane will uh go through and update all the dates and make the actual changes that were in draft form. >> Put them in policy >> and put them in policy. So
>> So hearing that, any questions? I entertain a motion to approve second reading of board policy series 400 as presented. >> No motion. >> Motion by Ross. Is there a second? >> Second by Jeremy. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. Next item is second reading of proposed updates to board policy 605.08 artificial intelligence in the educational environment. >> Yeah. Again, same same we brought last month. Just need the second reading before we can make the changes and actually put it into practice. So no nothing different than what you saw in in um April. >> Any questions or concerns on that? >> Not entertain a motion to approve. Second reading of proposed updates board policy 605.08. Motion >> motion by Ross. Is there a second? >>
Second by Jeremy. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Oppose. Same. Sign. Motion carries. New business. Fiscal year 26 budget amendment hearing. >> Public hearing. >> Am I opening? We're now in public hearing for the amendment to our current budget at 528. Jill, you want to run that through? It's something that we try to do every year. Fact, we will do every year. Um, and it doesn't raise your property taxes or make any changes to your rates or anything, but it's just something that we want to make sure we're above instead of getting dinged by the auditors when they come in and look at your at my the four lines and stuff. So, um, I've been keeping track of it on a monthly basis and kind of making sure that
we're in line. But I I did raise three of the lines. Um, but >> uh you have instruction up by a million, right? >> Yeah. >> Total support services up a million and then total other expenditures up two. So total >> purposes that we weren't didn't plan for a year ago. >> Did you have Okay. >> I added two million for that. So >> So this is just increasing our budget so we're not spending over. >> Yep. >> Okay. Anybody from the public wish to Kendra, you got any questions about that? >> Board members, anything. >> I usually like to say open at least two minutes on the public hearing. >> Are you having issues? >> What? >> You have issues navigating assembly? >> No. >> Slow. Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Mine's done. >>
Seems to be okay. >> Me and Ross because I have the same issue. >> Mine's still cir. >> Oh well. All right. I will close the public hearing at 5:30. Next item is >> actually >> to approve the amended certified budget that was presented by Jill. I would entertain a motion to approve that. Motion by Jeremy. Is there a second? >> Second by Ross. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. I. >> Post. Same sign. Motion carries. The next step we have approval of the 20 fiscal year 27 parent student handbook and staff handbook. Yep. So try to give you the changes uh like we have on um one document and so there are different tabs. So, they're all level the same, but they're all different. Does that make sense? Like one's bus,
one's on the parent student handbook. Um, so these are proposed changes for next year. Uh, we may um need to amend it again. Um, once we get the DE and everything from the legislative session on guidance, >> um, for example, PS, uh, length of time of P's in there, uh, the social studies bill, um, some of that may need to be amended. So we will bring back those when we get them. But reason we're doing it now is Jill likes as we're opening registration next week. We'd like to add a handbook up there that is as close to right at the time we open registration. Uh and then staff handbook. We caught some um just some discrepancies between what's in the staff handbook and what was in board policy. We try to clean those up.
So questions on any of those proposed changes? I don't think so. So, a lot of the ones for a student basically was due to changing from Wednesday late starts to Friday early outs and schedules and >> y' catch on all of that. >> Okay. >> Any questions on those? >> Not I would entertain a motion to approve the fiscal year 27 parent and student handbooks and staff handbooks as presented. >> No motion. >> Motion by Ross. Is there a second? [clears throat] >> Second. Second by Jeremy. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. Next up, we have the list of the Winteret High School class of 2026 graduates to approve. Thank you, Cam. They've all met all the requirements and >> or will have in the
next short amount of time. >> Some are taking the time to get back. >> Their days are getting very short. So, um, any questions about those? Not. I would entertain a motion to approve the Winter High School class of 2026 graduates as presented. >> I'll make a motion. >> Motion by Jeremy. Is there a second? >> Second by Ross. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Oppose. Same sign. >> Motion carries. You hesitated there for a minute. I thought maybe we're going to have no graduates in a couple of weeks. Next up, approval of fiscal year 27 fees. >> So, yeah, those are the normal fees and no changes to that. Um, and then I also have the ones for the meal prices. Um, we're not going to make any changes there as
well. And then we're keeping the same the reduced meal prices the same as current last year as well because we were trying to reduce our fund balance and that was one way of possibly doing that for us. So, adult lunches will have to be increased due to the um meal replacement formula that they give us. >> 515. >> So, we've rounded it up to $5. >> When we go eat the high school, we have to take $55. Any other questions for Jill on that? Thank you, Jill. For those I identify a motion to approve the fiscal year 26 fees as presented. >> Motion by Ross. Is there a second? >> Second by Jeremy. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Post same sign. Motion carries. Universal free breakfast. Jill, is
this you? >> So again, our fund balance is quite high and one way of doing that is providing um the universal free breakfast. um kind of reached out to another school district that does it and so they kind of helped me out with their board policy or their board recommendation that I provided to you and everything. Um I've also talked to Jen and she was all in favor of it. Um have kind of discussed about doing free lunches, but I think I'll just do free breakfast for right now and see how it goes. We can do this on a semester basis um and prove it again in December for the next second semester and see how things go. Um but I can see it happening for the full year for breakfast. But um and then
Jen has been visiting with me about some new things that she wants to do. She's getting rid of Southbury steak off the menu next week next year and adding some new um she wants to we're also going to try to order some new um equipment as well. Um a panini machine, another blender type of thing. Um looking for some more pans. We're also talking about trays, bringing the trays back. Um, so that's a recommendation I'd like to hear from you guys too about, you know, maybe try to eliminate some of the waste that we're having in the building with the paper boats and bring back the trays. I think there's enough from the elementary. I don't know if there's more. >> So there out in the shed between the comp gym and the stadium on
the north end of that shed, there is a whole wall of trays. >> So we may not need to buy them. I don't know. So we'll look at >> And there's other kitcheny things in there as well. So, I don't know if Jen knows that that stuff is out there. >> I didn't know that they were there. >> Yeah, we use boats. >> I only see because I get rakes and shovels out of there for husky help day. So, but that just might be a thought to look, Jill. I mean, I'm If we need trays, I'm not against ordering trays, but I think there's a bunch of stuff out there in that shed that was probably right >> what we had purchased previously and then got shelved when we started going to all the paper
and boats and all those things which and going to lunches. High school is fine. Elementary that is a real challenge with little hands to get a milk and boat and other things. So, >> Even middle school. Yeah. >> I'm looking around for other head nods and and you know, >> I've discussed it with Chartwell and they are they're more than willing to bring on another person if necessary to help clean all those trays and and the silverware and stuff. So, they I think are all for it. um they're going to be doing a budget meeting themselves here next week or this week um to kind of discuss what their um budget is for the next year as well. So um you know one of the things that Jen mentioned was this um Robo Coupe food
processor or a combi oven for the middle school and elementary. It will be easier to I don't know heat things up and stuff like that or vegetables and stuff. Um new trays and some different types of pots and pans that would be great. Um and then also with the summer program that we have applied for um we can purchase some hot and cold transport carts for that to keep um the I know hot coal while we're doing our food um deliveries this summer. So haven't been officially approved by that yet but I'm sure we will be. So >> um and then just the expansion of you know some newer foods and you know different recipes and hopefully better tasting food. >> Yes. Update on those food program we applied to having a food bowl. It
would if we did we would have to serve out of out of cobblestone because of the percentage of students who will qualify for free. It's based on geography location. >> We were thinking we could do it out of one of the churches but no. So >> there's a certain location that area that we allowed to be in >> that's north Douglas Highway to hit the population that meets the threshold. So we are in conversation with them about >> the challenge. I just I with because I would assume there's going to be kids south of the highway trying to get everybody can come. Yes. >> Right. But I'm just saying kids traversing Highway 92 is alarming to me. >> Either way pick up. It's No, >> it's okay. It's all okay. Sorry. Perfect. That that >>
Yes, I'll grab and go. We just wanted to use >> But kids still have to get out there though, right? >> Or a parent. We're doing it from noon to 1 on Tuesday and Thursday and they can pick up enough food for breakfast and lunches for the whole week. >> Okay. >> Um so yeah, it would likely need to be apparent, but we didn't think about that. But we have to do it on this side of the highway because that's >> Yep. I just don't know if we need to, you know, if there's something we can do with the city to look at, you know, maybe getting a crosswalk painted. I I just some way to help if kids are walking across the highway out there. Get Cory out there with a safe. >> Right.
I mean, I >> My mindset is, you know, kids are crossing the highway because I watch parents, adults, even at 8th Avenue with a four-way stop. >> Did we do >> struggle to get across there? >> This will be the first time >> in a few years. >> Yeah. because we used to do it out of the elementary schools, >> but now >> yeah, it's all based on where your family was. >> I just, you know, if that's something maybe >> in the past that they mostly drive to it or >> it varied. Sometimes you have kids show up and sometimes it was parents. >> Is there any way you could find out which kids are going to have to walk? >> Yeah, maybe find a way to get there to safety first always. >>
Yeah, we haven't been approved yet. I think we're >> It might help might help the DOT, you know, find a way to get a nice crosswalk painted out at the uh 8th and 92 >> or roundabout. >> Oh, a roundabout. Yes, I'll take the tractor and two wagons to a roundabout all grain into the elevator. Let me just get I'll just go right through the middle. >> So, Jill, so you're looking for your recommendation. Do you are you wanting to do it for for a full year or do you want us to do a semester by semester? I mean, if you're wanting a full year and you say the fund balance can manage it, I don't have any concerns with that. >> I will definitely address it with you guys in the in after the
first [clears throat] semester and see how we're doing and if we need to pivot, then we can do that then, too. So, >> you guys good with that? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, I would entertain a motion to approve the recommendation for universal free breakfast and the list of other things that Jill has presented to us. >> Motion by Jeremy. Is there a second? >> Second. Second by Ross. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. That's exciting. Feed the kids. Substitute pay rate. >> Yeah. During our discussion with uh the association this year, they brought up just subs and shortage and asked if we would do uh just a comparison of what people [clears throat] were being paid uh for their subs. So, I reached out
to the Raken River Conference. I think Bay Meter I can't remember a couple others on May Pella would be our new conference and got their rate of pay. Um to be at the average we're recommended to go to 155 a day and then long-term would go from 175 to 185 and that's just the average of those what those schools are paying. So for next year any questions on that? If not to entertain a motion to approve the substitute uh rate pay increase as presented. >> No motion. >> Motion by Ross. Is there a second? >> Second by Jeremy. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. Correction to inconsistency in board policy 80202. [clears throat] >> Yeah, this is what I brought to us. I shared you in
a board update. Um I think it really was just that it didn't the second line didn't get >> didn't get changed. Um, but to be fully transparent and bring it to you to address that and and update it. >> Do you want us to prove it and move it through on just one reading? >> You would like. >> I think that's okay because we're just clarifying and fixing a >> Yeah, if you go there's it's a policy in the 700 series. >> Yeah. >> That it calls out 48,000 in there. Okay. >> So, it's inconsistent with other board policies already. So then the motion would be to approve the correction to 80202 and approve it. Wave the first reading and approve it on the fir second reading. Approve it on the first reading. Does that
sound right, Jill? >> Would anybody like to make that motion? >> Motion by Ross. Is there a second? Second by Jeremy. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. review and approval of Winter Commission School District social media guidelines for employees. >> As I was going through handbooks and and getting ready for next year, I I came across this. I think Jared's seen this before, but I don't know that >> we started this once. >> Yeah. >> And then it never we it disappeared. >> So, um, >> no, we brought it. We >> did. We shared it with since you No, that hasn't. Okay. >> I put it together. >> Yeah. because it's and work with allers to clarify it. Um, but I thought it'd be good if
you guys just again the board to be aware of what we share with staff every fall. It's really just pulling together board policies um that you already have and giving them some guidance on social media um as they interact with students. So, it's a good document. Thanks. Any questions on it? You read it cover to cover. >> You know it. >> I'd entertain a motion to approve the social media guidelines for employees as presented. >> Motion by Jeremy. Is there a second? Second. Second by Ross. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. >> And we got to go all the way to O this should >> it's a lot. Good time. Okay, >> that's why you out of here. >> Updated graduation requirement proposal and
potential calendar adjustments. Mr. Smith, thanks for joining us again. By the way, >> that lettuce is free. >> Oh, that that's probably important for tonight. >> They're moving so fast. I was worried we might get to bring them back, Kim. Um uh the famous a couple of um things he'd like to present to the board uh and align with our strategic priorities and trying to um go to our or continue to work around a profile of graduate and make it meaningful for kids. So one is the to change grad requirements or they have to do a defensive learning before they graduate and then the other is um could it could we change the calendar to accommodate that? So I'll turn it over to Ken. So, um, yeah, the first one, the graduation requirement, senior presentations,
it's kind of a culmination of us working through the profile of graduates, so what's at the end of the rainbow type of thing. Um, and so in our building, our BLT and instructional lead team, uh, put together a plan where a senior would have about a 20 minute presentation that they would give to, uh, administrators, staff, and then people that they choose to invite in. um that will kind of focus on a few different things. First, uh we're asking every senior to learn how to create some smart goals. Uh yeah, how to create some smart goals. Kind of start with some of that. >> Um but then we want them to deep dive into the PG competencies and share with us two to three unique artifacts in there that demonstrate some some of their strengths
within the Pog. But they're understanding that they're going to be at varying levels of u yeah just talents like any any human is. So they might be really good at collaboration communication. So they want to highlight some of that stuff and that might come in a classroom that might come in an extracurricular that might come in a co-curricular right. So let them let them demonstrate some of that and then have them explain their MVA. So market value asset something that we saw down in Kansas City from the Kaufman organization. It's very popular deal down in KC and it's basically what is something that you have that separates you from somebody else coming out of high school. So an MVA for a student might be nine or more college credits. If they have nine or more
college credits they're that kind of stand apart. It might be an internship where they've had so many hours that sets them apart. It might be an industry recognized credential that sets them apart. It might be a business project that they did with a local person sets them apart. So there's a lot of and then we have ones that are maybe accustomed there. There's some of those kids differently like uh an Eagle Scout project where you're spending tons and tons of hours on u some of our kiddos that maybe aren't it wouldn't be as many hours. We have to modify it based on their their individual needs, right? But they're still doing something and they're still they're still having that experience. So they're going to explain that to us, their PG competencies, and then we're going
to spend about 10 minutes doing a reflective questioning with them. um kind of like an exit interview type of style um about their future plans, about the skills that they classes that they've taken at Winterstead Community School District that prepared them for this for this uh journey. Um with that said, each senior and actually start their freshman year put together a portfolio of artifacts that we're using Zelo in right now that they're uploading and then reflecting on these activities uh to show some competencies. So I think for us to have have it be meaningful, it needs to be reflective in nature. It can't be a uh we're just going to score this and you're not proficient. I want to be reflective in nature, but I also want it to have some not teeth per se,
but I want to have some weight to it. Uh because if it's just a deal, uh I don't know how serious we'll take that or how much preparation we'll have. So, making it part of our graduation requirement would be that they successfully do a senior presentation. Uh, not that they score such a high level or whatever, but that they successfully completed it. And that would be uh Yeah. Yeah. I'm asking that that would be a graduation requirement, not just a requirement to walk like paying all your fees or >> you know that sort of thing, but but kind of taking that Pog to the next level and saying this is the end of this is the end of this Pog journey and we want you to share. Um and then with that said, the other
one is the time for presentation. So January 18th, I know we have the day off of school already uh because of the calendar committee and that's we had that day. That would be our early grads day to present. That might be some kids that want to have that done early for whatever reason, right? Maybe they're going to be in the page program or they're going to go off to boot camp after term three or whatever. It's a day for them. But then we need something in the spring also. Um, and as some of you guys are wellversed in, the spring is about as busy as it gets with something every night. Um, and I want our teachers to be a part of these presentations. So, doing that during the school day, um, one not only
allows me to open up the classrooms to use for presentation centers, but it it frees up the staff to be there to have these conversations, sit through these presentations. Uh, ultimately, we'd love it if the kids were inviting, you know, another teacher. So, is that a is that an elementary teacher that meant something to you? Maybe that's your first band teacher, >> right, that got you hooked and interested in this and you invite them in. Having that day be more open uh with staff flexibility would allow those presentations to happen, people enjoying those things. uh with it being on a Friday, hopefully that would maybe allow parents too to have a little more flexibility on a schedule to come in and sit through their child's presentation as well. But um what it would do is
it would knock our student days from 178 to 177. Um we would have to then make sure their hours were in place. So me pushing the maybe the graduation practice another day, I I would still get our hours and and those those guys would still be at their 1080 and within their 1080 if they're a senior. So the Yeah. And so in our initial discussion administratively too, there was talk about what if we would move our spring conferences to that day. So that's a staff work day. You know, does that make sense? What we're asking tonight is the ability to come back in June with a formal proposal. >> That's what I would It's not a recommendation. This is just our thoughts right now. We would come back in we have one to change calendar,
you have to have public hearing hearing. Yeah. >> So, we would run a public hearing. We'd come back with a formal proposal for you. Outline the hours, outline those things for this day. Um and then also with the updated graduation board policy. >> Updated policies. Yeah. >> Yeah. So, that's what this is for. information chance there's no action. This is just an information kind of sharing with you. Um is the board supportive of us coming back in June with a more laid out um one with the graduation requirement that policy would say and then also the the updated calendar. Does that make sense? >> My head's going to go like this. >> I like it. >> Is it 20 minutes total then per kid? >> Yeah. It's too bad they couldn't like couldn't be part
of a required class, but that's hard for seniors. >> Um, actually the district that we went to in Kansas City, that's how they run it. Um, so they run an entire class as a senior >> that they take the first semester is a deep dive into the career that they want to go into where they do a lot of research on it. They even tied in like what how is AI impacting this career? What does that mean? um they read like a 20page paper. Yeah, there's there's a curriculum and a scope and sequence too and there are state dead codes and things like that where a course could be attached to it >> that first semester >> and then the first nine week second nine weeks of uh the first nine weeks of the second
semester >> is their um they have to do 26 hours >> uh 40 46 >> hours of um internship job some kind of immersion granted they're right outside Kansas City they have 260 60 business connections. >> Yeah. >> So, we looked at what do they do that we like that we could do and then >> sustainability on the second half that shirt. Yeah. Sustainable makes sense. >> During the four the final four weeks is the kids are doing this >> defensive. We were we were down there and the kid walked through with a a shirt and tie on >> and he had his defense that day and he was going to do it that day. This is our first step in that we see that we like that we can try years from now we
would we would build the calendar. Does that make sense? >> Correct. Build it into it. >> We build the calendar to accommodate um they bring kids up like they bring kids um >> their eighth graders come up and watch the presentation so they know what that looks like. Well, that was my thing was going to be how do we capture these to use as a educational piece for the next group, the next gen, you know, that where where do we plug that into, you know, what we're doing with seventh, eighth graders, freshmen, something like that? That was my was going to be one thing I asked as well. >> Well, if we run conferences or showcase night, what if we ran showcases from noon to 8 on that night for the other buildings? Does that
make sense? And so that's their that's your staff's eight hour day. But then um those are some initial conversations. We come back with a more finalized proposal. But um >> I think it's a great great idea. I really do. >> So they're all going to be done in one day basically. >> That's the goal said >> if it wasn't it would be nice to like include how to do texts, how to how to get a mortgage. >> Some of that. Yeah. for cover some of it. Yeah. >> So, this this presentation also does another thing having having in January if we do go to the two count student count system, right? Nobody's graduating then prior to doing our our presentation also. >> So, we get our certified development number. >> Yep. And that time right
after January 18th will be the first day of second semester. >> Um be there. >> Nice play there, guys. But uh for the class, a lot of that work is going to be done in advisory and then through the different different advisory times. What we'll do is plan to have the new practices checkpoints throughout. So like October is a portfolio checkpoint in our junior class, pair them up, have them in a gym sharing back and forth. What do we have done? What does this look like? Then start with our reflective questioning in December, another round in March. So slowly getting them ready for that but but not not nearly to the extent of what they were able to do yesterday for sure. >> Okay. >> Sounds good to me. I stay yes. Bring us back
something >> concrete and firm in June. >> We'll bring you back something to take action on in June. >> Sounds good. >> All right. We have resolution transferring funds from the general to activity to purchase or uh purchase of or andor reconditioning of protective and safety equipment. Looks like Nick is looking for some football helmets, baseball helmets, and softball helmets and about $10,000. >> This is what we've done, I think, almost every year. >> Yeah, we just [clears throat] get recycled through protective equipment. Y >> any questions on that entertain motion to approve the request for the resolution of transferring funds as presented? >> Motion. Motion by Ross. Is there a second? >> Second by Jeremy. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. Next up, resolution
approving the contract and bond for construction of the multi- prime contracts for the phase 1A bid package B rebid for smart concrete. >> So, it's kind of learning curve. So, talked to Danielle at Alders and we decided we put this back on the agenda again because this was on the agenda last week. >> Oh, we didn't have the we didn't have the contract. >> We didn't have the contract officially then. So, we just got the contract today. So, we can go ahead and >> approve the contract. >> Yeah. >> Formality. >> Would anybody like to approve the contract as presented? >> Do you have anything? >> No. >> Okay. Motion by Jeremy. Is there a second? Second. Second by Ross. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries.
Estis construction amendment 004. >> Yeah. So, um because the bid um was less, then they adjust their contract with EST just based on each bid. Does that make sense? Because you're paying them on a percentage of the construction. >> Oh, okay. >> Construction project. So, when the bid came back at 60,000 less, >> we have to adjust them down. >> And if it goes up, >> we're going to be doing this a lot is what you're saying. >> Your amendments. Yeah. >> Hope hopefully not a lot, but maybe a way. That's why >> Yeah, that's why we're 004. They put That's why they put so many numbers in there. >> Hopefully we don't get past the, you know, triple digit. >> Go up, too. >> Yeah. So, that's what it is. >> Okay. >> They
they you have to deal with them based on the actual construction costs and as they go up or down, you'll amend amend it. >> Yeah. As they go through the different bid package. >> Now, we will know when we see these next time. I was like, what? Oh, now it makes sense. Any questions on that or discussion? Not entertain a motion to approve Estus construction amendment 004A. No motion. >> Motion by Ross. Is there a second? >> Second by Jeremy. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. Approval of flexible student and school support program application 2627 PE waiver. >> You tired? You want me to do this? >> Uh yeah, go ahead. You've been busy. Happy to do this one. So several years ago, our state went
to a flexible student school support program where they where the state allows you to wave certain things. One of the things that we are asking for approval for is to wave the requirement for PE because we do at the high school level because we do it as a 4x4 block instead of a five time you know five day weeks you know all year long and so uh something we've done for several years. The model our state has gone to is it's a three-year plan. We are on the third year of this plan this year. So we are asking for an approval for another three years. So, the reporting works where we ask for the approval and then we get the three-year approval and then each year we report how we were successful at what we
waved and the only thing we wave in this suite of stuff is the PE waiver to do it in a 4x4 block and that's what we're asking for. >> Feel like I've seen this before but I could have. So, it's every three years we have it's >> every three years. We're actually at the end of the third year this year. So, we're applying for another three years for starting for next year. That's it. >> By law, you're supposed to have 180 to pee at the high school per week. Yep. Block schedule. They take it in the semester. They don't. Right. >> This is a way for you to get around. >> So, we do a year and a semester basically >> with the black. >> Any questions or discussions on that? Hearing none. I entertain
a motion to approve. >> Motion by there. Second. Second by Jeremy. Any other discussion? All those in favor say I. oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. Next up, 2526 superintendent evaluation. I think this is me. I get to lead this. Um, thank you guys for submitting those. I met with Justin. I have published um the evaluation on the assembly site to you guys as well. You can see all the comments, the critiques, um, meets not meets. And we used to do this in close session. We don't do this in close session anymore. Um, I just met with him, showed him, had some discussion, but um, yeah, we're going to keep you around. We already approved your contract. So, that's all I have. Any questions from you guys? Any goal? Do you want to do goal setting
now? >> Typically, what we do is I reflect on that and then I try and build it in the goals and I'll share in the fall with you going forward. So, I'll reflect on some things were brought up. Um, and then one I think one I remember comment was, you know, how being more intentional with the affirmations of staff. We try to do that this year. I'm definitely something I continue to improve on next year. Um yeah, then that'll be we'll build into the goals I have for next year. Our [snorts] big rocks aren't going to change and we're in the strategic priorities. Hopefully you see that loud and clear. That's what we're working on and we're leaning into those. So you'll a lot of the goals will be around that. And then obviously bringing
this construction project through the year will be a big part of it. So, and I uh in talking with Gina, we talked before she left. I just thank you for the breath of information you provide to us for that review, all of your attachments and amendment or attend all those fun things. Greatly appreciate it. I I would be hardressed to say that I don't know what's going on as a board member with you as our soup. So, I appreciate that. >> Um and and one thing new this year was the the continuous Google doc with the board updates where you could go back to your previous ones. Hope you found that beneficial. Just >> that was awesome. >> A new tag. >> I'll run the same play next year. So, you can always go back
and look at our entire dialogue of of weekly updates um in one spot. I used to do a new one every >> every month or every week. Yeah. And then you have to go try to find the email or find it in the old Google keeps that an updated updated doc. >> The tab is awesome. >> It is. They like to take things away too. >> They do. They add it and then they take it away from you after a while. Anything else from anybody for Justin on that? Justin, anything for us? >> I told Jared I mean I know it's something we have to but I hope I understand that if there's ever you need my attention or want to have a conversation, reach out. >> You don't have to wait till evaluation if
you have something like to visit with. So welcome the feedback. Obviously I want and my goal is that you're not surprised um when things happen. So if there's if you ever feel that way, let me know and I'll I'll be sure to try and do better. Make sure you get the information you need to feel like you're informed and can make an informed decision. So, >> perfect. No action on that or do do we have to accept it? Okay. Approve it. >> Yeah, >> that's right. Because that's through then you have to submit it and I have to sign it. Yeah. Okay. Entertain a motion to approve the superintendent evaluation for 2526. >> Motion to approve it. >> Is there a second? >> Yep. >> Motion by Jeremy, second by Ross. Any other discussion? All
those in favor say I. I. >> All oppose same sign. Motion carries. Sorry, Gina's texting me as well telling me she's going to be at graduation. >> Oh, perfect. So, we'll have at least two seats. >> Yeah. Anybody else want to sit with us? >> I'll let you check my calendar in May. >> Okay. >> We'll just set you up. It's a receiving line. We shake hands. >> Shake hands. Yep. >> Yeah. >> Just make sure chairs up there. It's all get a little We may have to start getting a little snug or take more space back there. >> We'll be fine. All right. Uh, board member reports. Jeremy, >> uh, nothing nothing to report. I went to the middle school and saw the art project. That was really, that was impressive. >> Yeah. So,
>> Ross, >> I was just looking forward to all the events here towards the end of the year. >> Hard to believe we're the end of this month. We're done. Yeah. So, >> kids are excited. Yeah. Kudos to everybody top to bottom for all that goes on the last month of the school year. That is doesn't go unnoticed. I think kids are excited, teachers are excited, parents are excited, and it's just the slide all the way through to it. So, keep up the hard work everybody. A lot of great things. Um, and as a new high school parent, spring season is much different than any other sports season. There's between so much going on in the spring months. So kudos to grounds crew, maintenance, janitorial, all of those guys keeping everything up and running. I
mean, our facilities and visiting several other, not knocking any other district, but our facilities are always in top-notch shape um compared to when you go to some other places. So, um, thank you for all of that to everybody involved with that. So, um, and I want to say I will tell Nick this every day I see him, that weekly husky piece that he puts out of things going on and then the email with how to get ticketing, how to that. I have started I have people that I forward that now to because they're like, I don't get that. I don't have a kid. I'm like, I'll forward it to you. So, like if again I think it's on is it on the district website yet or did we figure that out? >> Yes, it's on
there. >> Okay. I I couldn't remember. I told them they couldn't find it, but I haven't looked. But I just know that is >> phenomenal. I >> can't remember where I saw it but it's off. >> Okay, perfect. I I thought it was but I I couldn't find it the other day. But >> it's on Facebook too. I think for sure >> he does that but like he doesn't have the email that has all the links >> all below it >> like if there's how to watch live streams or find like the track the live timekeeping and all that stuff. That one is phenomenal that email. So >> yeah and I think that's all I had. Keep up the hard work. Justin >> uh some of those we talked about obviously you talked about Travis
instruction so break that um we'll put this on your radar you know the assumption is with PEP in place it's through 2034 it would be imperative that we get that back in place uh moving forward um we had our first OAC meeting owner architect uh contractor meeting on Friday wasn't a long meeting a lot about safety protocols and that but they did give the three-week look ahead schedule which I included for you and then the overall schedule so it kind of gives you the next three weeks um what they're going to be doing um and then the whole entire schedule when they anticipate taking on some of those things um so again I'll continue to share those meeting minutes with you in the three-week look ahead as we go forward um I think we meet
every two weeks uh for those with baseball and softball and construction Nick and I met again today I think he's leaning towards a couple of golf carts to transport people >> think like six-seaters like the ones with like >> bigger Yeah. Um because they're talking right away as soon as they're done in the back June 1st going and tearing the front parking lot up which will then make that circle drive. So the closest parking on this side of the building will be comp gym and then the student parking. So there'll be nights with when ADM comes to town will be really really busy. Um so again just shuttling people. So I think he's going to move forward with that. I think to get two of them for June and part of July would be about
$5,000 totally on that. So shuttle from the high school parking lot. >> Yeah. I think we're talking about is to set a a spot in the cop gym parking lot. So you come across the road there like make the circle drive pick up either right there on the the corner and then take them because you can't go around through by the gym because that'll be right. >> It'll be going all the way around either in between around the high school by the the tech center or all the way down around and bring them back up. Haven't decided. um to just be to keep them from walking through the construction zone. That's the quick >> be lots of signage and they'd be able to use >> where the will they be able to go. >> We
put on the streets too and take them that way. >> I didn't know I didn't know legally. >> Yeah, they are. They're legal. >> Where the students typically park. >> So the girls softball has always parked in the circle drive up front and walked. Well, now they'll be parking um >> at the middle. >> I think we're telling them the comp gym. way because most of the boys have always parked on the grass >> and we're going to put them down in the middle. Uh I think in the front, which I forgot now. I think we're going to tell the boys to try and park in front of them. >> They'll all be parking everywhere. They'll all try to find the closest spot like I'm just saying if we can >> isolate them out of
the alleviate some of that. >> Yeah. Um because that junior high parking lot will fill up for the JV game. >> Yeah. >> When JB girl I mean that people who come to the JV girls will fill that up and I'm sure that are going to park down around the street. We're gonna put a spot for officials in that uh softball umpires in that parking lot. We're going to pull the baseball officials, I think, off onto the grass there behind the Jerry baseball field designated in there >> to sit for them. Um is kind of our initial planning. >> Um and Nick's working on communication out to the team so they can communicate to their fans and all that. So anyway, I think we're leaning towards that. You already got graduation. You know who wants
to come? Let me know. German. We'll get seats up there. >> Uh you will notice that we're going to have some brand new black chairs. If you looked out before, there was green and >> multiolors >> and they were getting rusty and kind of falling apart. And so Ray said, "Hey, can we can we do this over a few years? You know, buy new chairs and replace them." So we bought a rack of black chairs this year. Um hopefully next year in a spot we can do another rack and solely replace those those chairs because they were getting kind of beat up. And then I give you a bunch of the dates that Cam's talked about already. Um opportunities if you're available. Um the concert tonight at the high school obviously get health day tomorrow.
Kindergarten concert. There's a fifth six concert before that at um at 6 tomorrow night. >> Kindergarten concert is maybe my favorite concert of the year. Just saying. >> Always fun. >> It's great. Love it. It's awesome. Hope I can make it >> minutes. It is >> short and sweet. Uh the senior awards of the 13th in the comp gym. Hot dog days. You're welcome to come help hand out hot dogs. I put those on there for you. The different dates. Um uh yeah, the last day of school. And then my schedule, I'll be here most week. I am looking at maybe taking this Friday's vacation day. Just thinking ahead on when I it would work for me to do that. Um if nothing pops up, I probably will. If something does, I won't. Um and
then the 26th coming out of uh um Memorial Day, that's Avery's followup. So I got to run Iowa City. So two hours there for probably a 45minute appointment and two hours back. So I'll be gone quite a bit of that day. Other than that, I should be around and not taking a lot of vacation till the end of July. May take a Friday here or there depending on softball and where they're playing. I know they go to Crestston, they'll take a Friday and go to Fort Dodge, I'll probably take that Friday, too. So, anything for me? >> Okay, next up we have our next meeting which is June 15th. >> I don't think we'll have a There was talk maybe a special wording, but I don't know that we will with the new bid on
the 23rd, but I don't know. >> Wouldn't Shouldn't it >> I think it'll be >> Don't we meet the second Monday of the month? >> Do I have it wrong? should be the eth because the first is on a Monday be the eth. >> It'd be the eth not the 15th >> because I'm like I'm gone the next board meeting which is the because if it's the 15th I'm here I'll be super tired but it is the 8th and Gina will be running that meeting. >> Okay. U maybe what was there? I think the bus came book maybe will be on that. as far as handbooks, probably construction stuff, and then it got to be pretty light. Oh, and then these two discussion items that Cam will have will probably be the the bigger part
of that meeting. So, >> um, so regular session June 18th, >> June 8th, >> 8th. Oh my goodness, you guys. Sorry. >> Well, Gina must be on. She's asking questions of things. So, like >> June. Yeah, >> June 8th. >> Yep. Perfect. >> And I I will let you know if we need a special wording, but I don't I think we're okay with the reing of that. Um it's all going out as the phase two now project. >> Perfect. If nothing else, we are adjourned. >> Yeah. Funny.
