010can I I forgot when you had said about the agenda was can I say something about that and not detract from my three minutes on what I want to say it's it doesn't matter you could say it's an agenda item you can say what you need to say okay so I saw something about an antenna going on a tower did you guys did that come up on them so we purchased new radios for our bus fleet um there's a bunch of dead zones switched over by turkey swap in order to have a new um radio's work we have to install a new antenna we already have an antenna there so it's over at the water tower over by Freehold Raceway Mall it's not attachment property but so this is just the township had to go
011through their attorney they had to draft this resolution for us it's just a new agreement for this new antenna and it just basically says yeah we have the right to put up there and there's certain things we have to do and that's all it is okay thank you I appreciate that foreign okay so what I want to address here is that um a lot of people have been discussing and myself and looking at things um some of the books that are ending up in our schools and the libraries are just in my opinion quite perverse and not school appropriate and I just wonder what is in our library and what is allowed reading there as well so um specifically I just want to talk about I love the turnout all these parents name to see
012their Awards and how beautiful that was but I wish that the parents would be more involved in understanding that some of the curriculum that's being rolled out some of the plans for Parental Guidance and being notified on things are in question but so specifically for right now I just want to talk about um there's a book there's a whole bunch of them but this one is Lawn Boy by Jonathan Edison is anybody aware of that do you guys like look at those books at all no okay but so Scholastic Books remember I remember them as a kid we got them as a piece of paper right but I think you guys do Book Sales right you know people show up live to those do you still do those papers the Scholastic books okay book Affairs
013so they say that it's from 9 to 13 this book um and excuse me it says that it's funny fast-paced Tale on ordinary kids gets crash course and economics but this is how it really reads and I'm I've seen people boldly come up here and say the words and I I'm gonna bleep them out because I I really don't feel comfortable saying them but it goes like this what if I told you that I touched another guy's blank D the d word I said what if I told you that I sucked it Nick looked soundly frantically and said it was just uh it was the fourth grade it was no big deal I'm sort of paraphrasing here and shortening it up a little bit but this is explicitly how it goes um and it's just
014normalizing this Behavior the book is called normal ordinary um I wonder if what I'd really like to know is I'd like to ask each and every one of you and get a response to know how you would how do you plan on going forward with this like screening the books would you is somebody going to review them well we know will parents get a list of the books are they in the libraries and where do you stand on allowing these books in our libraries personally do you think they're age appropriate do you think they're appropriate because I find them quite repulsive and I think if you're aware of them I think you might find them quite repulsive as well answer Ed but I I feel like you as a board member representing the people you
015need to be the Watchdog of our children of our future and I think the parents need to know what books are in the library like it should be easy like here's a click and you can see this and you can see that I think if you're going to be our board members and represent the community I think a lot of people would be a poll to know that these are being filtered into our school districts I I understand that but I think it would be a job and a due diligence to find out if it's in there because I where am I going to have access to look in this I can't come into your school and look in the library so does this shock you this kind of language it's not okay how about
016you Mr Williams does it shock you see it Miss bran attraction I'm against any pornography in schools Miss casalino because so you would not support a book like this and because I think a lot of busy parents are just I'm not understanding okay maybe I could buy that book for you okay that's good all right awesome time is up thank you all right thank you what would anybody else like to address the board hi everybody my name is Zane Alcott I'm from a 63 Stonehurst Boulevard um I want to talk about my disagreements with uh transgender policy the 5756 policy um I'm not a parent yet but um soon to be with my wife that's her next uh our next step so I just want to be a proactive uh what I don't understand is
017how we came to the point where parents are not involved with their children uh when it comes down to school all my life I always understood that the school and the children and the parents are always on a triangle system we got the the kids at top of course and we got the student or the parents together with teachers all three sides or all three sides are connecting at one point but with this uh transgender policy we seem to cut out one side so it's just between the school and the child I don't see how a school can come to that decision to say that's the best for the child and like I said I'm not a parent yet but I am uh I do have parents myself and I when I was growing up
018you don't realize how much your parents love you but when you're my age now and you're older you realize that no one loves you like your parents so this decision to leave the parents out of anything to do with the school I just completely disagree with it doesn't make any sense to me um another thing I see is that I mean maybe something will come out of me later but whenever somebody talks about this it's how they put it like in cold Sack or Hanover they're trying to change up their policy over there and then you hear people that are involved in the school they're coming out and saying that parents are outing kids I mean I'm old school I'm 38. from my understanding when outing outing somebody used to mean that everyone knew or
019ever no only one person knew in the whole world didn't know and then one or a few people told the whole world but for some reason when people talk about people or like challenging this policy they're calling it outing the kids but in reality when you look at it really it's the school knows potentially everyone in the school knows potentially all the kids friends knows and the only person that doesn't know is the parents so how did it turn into everyone but one person doesn't know and that's out foreign would anyone else like to address the board yeah okay okay thank you all for coming this evening can I have a motion to go into executive session whereas pursuant to njsa 10 412b the Board of Education May exclude the public from that portion of
