We want to welcome you here tonight all our supporters. We'll start with a pledge by media and then we'll remain standing for the Thank you. All right. if you will. There she is. >> Okay. Um, we're so excited. So, Cheryl Kimber is our newest board member for zone 5. I declare that I support the Constitution of the United States Constitution and the laws of the state of Idaho and that I will faithfully discharge all the duties of the office of trustees. All the duties of the office of trustees of Jefferson joint district number 51 Jefferson and Madison County state of Idaho according to the best of my ability. We're excited to have you. Our board is finally full again. So that's good. All right. Second. All in favor? It is the month of recognition. We're

excited about that. So anyway, Ryan Lord, did you want to start off? We'll start off with a few currently for the last 40 credits. And then her science has so much stuff. She's one of 80 students in the state of Idaho. again. She's one of over there. He also participates in some amazing things. I have a lot of green. Come on. coming here. I'm sorry. establish one of those guys that having that person I appreciate. We're gonna mix games. Daryl, come on up. Shirley was is and was uh science teacher and she's the one that And it's gotten better because now it's helping I know every time I want to walk down if you're having a bad And I'm still I'm not sure. That's really Another question. So I woke When I first came to

work, I got so then after I grad, I had I to understand the she had with the curriculum and how she how organized she was and how well she was uh with everything as an instructional coach. I would write on her because I love and I wanted to see how great people really enjoyed the fun as a new administrator. It's been super awesome to go and watch and not only again as a new administrator I haven't had to worry about anything else like it's been so organized everything has been taken care of so well and I really really appreciate that about that. Um I'm sad it's hard to follow even though but I be grandma and all the for that I'm super excited for her. So I Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, I have had

the privilege of working with you on picture for this last year. So, I'm gonna ask her to come up, say a few words about her. Um, we have only had her at Ricky Middle School for the last year, but she's been in our district for over 10 years um serving as a special education um teacher. And she this last year has been so flexible. everything that we have asked her to do and thrown her way, she has done it and um with a smile on her face. We share very hard to do this together and again smile on her face every single day that she he gets to teach him and um we learn together. We grow together from it and um she is going to retire and be with her husband who retired last

year. So, I know she's very excited about that and being with her grandchildren. Um, special education has a sweet spot in my heart and um those teachers do so much for our kids and so thank you for those So Krina and I have worked together for a long time. She is excellent teacher. Every parent you ever talked to was so grateful that class didn't want to go out every day. never achieved that as a teacher. Um she's also our test coordinator. So part of her is already that's a nice thing. Um but yeah, I mean you can't say enough. you have those teachers that you wish every kid was able to go through that class be able to have that experience with that such I'm grateful to train for the 29 years of excellent service

and it's hard to let go but I know I've got my Ray Pa and I've got a little bit of a bone to take with her because we had an agreement when we started our way together. He She always said that she was going to work until noon of the day of her funeral. And I feel very ripped off that she has gone back on our agreement. But uh I I really am going to miss the race um a lot. B she has been a confidant and really has helped us grow as a school um in so many ways socially, emotional, academically it for the last several years we've been bragging that but that and her counseling program have met the national model for program and that that's not easy to do most programs in

the state of it. leader so many ways. I feel a little bit sad. That's all of our retirees. And I just want to take a minute and thank each one of you. The thing that I find amazing, and I don't know if you find this anywhere else, but you always find it in education, is everyone's excited to retire, but when they're here, there's tears in their eyes because they know that they are going to miss the life that they've been living and to have the influence on this that they have. And so, we just want to thank you. It's an amazing thing to be a teacher and you will never know how many lives you touch. So, thank you very much. Okay. Some more than others. when I was ready. I learned a lot. He

was always from amazing amazing job. Hey Ryan, want to come up? Um, okay. I wrote all this stuff down. I very hard to get a hold of. >> Okay. So, um, take a moment to recognize her. So, she's our librarian. Okay, cool. Um, uh, she is our school librarian. We can only get her for 29 hours. That's all the fun we have for um, but what she was able to accomplish in that time. So, the RMS library has never been in our in middle school design building up. No one find it that um always before that power has made it um and transformed it into a place. I have cameras up all the time in there and now where she actually needs more in there to help kids. Um it's now welcoming inviting and most

importantly to reach them at the front and help them what they what they need and listen um on top of all of that. So she has worked incredibly hard to have a lot of fun for that space. We have written a lot of rent side note I told there's not a lot of rent so many people are writing grants library grateful that we haven't cut it yet but she has written um uh she has written many grants and she's raised over or gotten over $13,000 over the few years to buy new books update our furniture and create the kids Um uh her work in the library has created the culture like talking about culture that All right, I got one more. Okay. Um, this recognition is so long. Um, this guy we met Uh, it's

long overdue. So, this guy, we met in the fall of 2021. Um, we started a program called Dads on Duty. Um, if you don't know what a Dads on Duty is, it's someone who's willing to donate their time and just hang out with the kids. Hang out with the kids. He walks the hall. Um, try to build relationships with them, text on the kids. um model of our dad on um like I said he started in the fall of 2021 since then has become a constant and positive president he was almost there volunteering his time since the fall of 2021 every day um for whole function giving more than an hour every single walking the hall, checking in with the kids and talking anytime he has a concern. Beyond that, Bernie also volunteers their time

at supporting us assembling running board really anything that we need to give all that time. I don't know if um getting uh whatever we do. So for example, we just had the distance and setting up um we totally told the dollar. It's roughly,00 picture that that's working 46 24 hours for 27 fulltime work or estimated 67 months average. Um, it's incredible that this guy shows up every day. I know you hate being recognized. So, I'm glad I get him, too. Um, Ernie, we're so grateful for you, the relationships you build, and I will take any day that you do. really hope you know how much you got. Come on. I did have earlier. I'm not willing to do without recogniz All three of these little bitter been came from a soccer he's been wrestling for

for three years. Works hard. always got a smile on his face and and just done a great job for three years. That paid off this year this year. Then we have these other two over here. They weren't here for two years. They were here for one year. They're both in sixth grade. These are the staff and they're twins if you can't tell. But they had a they've had an exceptional year. They've uh we bounced them around as we go to different matches, different tournaments. We move them to the tougher weight move. We move them wherever they tough competition. And we didn't do a very good job of finding tough competition for them because I don't think they even got scored on until really late in the year. Both of them were were undefeated. Um they've

done so many things beyond beyond that. They both won a couple of state championships this year, right? Um they're matching range efforts. All three of these young men are greatly different kind of they were supporting this year. Um but as good as they are at rest all of these better than we are. Um, I've had the amazing opportunity to work with Leah Cook who's been doing our behind the scenes, those segments that we've been putting out. Um, and I just wanted to recognize her for all the work when you were with me. Um he has posted or been working on nine segments so far. Um and um he also has been teaching me how to use Instagram and Facebook which is a big deal. So thank you and I just wanted to give her a

big thanks to our district and um and all hard work. We not only have amazing staff, we just have amazing people in our district. and that's what the people that make our district so good. So, thank you all. That's the end of our recognition. You're more than welcome to stay for our board meeting. All right, we're going to move on and we have our superintendent report. you know, if I was to report all of this going on this month, it's a very busy time. But I I do want to report on one thing. Uh we went earlier this week, which it was so fun to see our high school FFA students working with the third grade students. And we had I think 550 third graders went through and feedback some of which I knew and

are quieter with so much passion and enthusiasm and so fun to see so fun to have the opportunity to see our kids engaged and we have so many opportunities whether it's or whether it's athletics drama or whether it's with music orever whatever it is we We have so many opportunities and I'm blessed to be able to see our students engage in those things that they're passionate about and importantly providing those. It's a great time of year to have one while it's just for your information. We have a great work session. School finances are understanding that already. in the school year. Uh the first one was uh President's Day office called the new uh schedule is now open to process that since it's also a holiday for a yearround uh employees uh it's recommended that we

give them closing holiday um July 24th currently uh the district office is closed Mondays if that holiday follows on Mondays and Fridays uh we would recommend And that's the administration. And then the other thing is uh those uh year round employees additional holidays after they work a year. Um actually that has never been as long as I so I would recommend that we strike that we don't have to have a couple of different Have a I'll make a motion to call these action items. 440 legal bas. This is pretty cool. over there. How you doing? of our mention. were selected. This conference is all about the people in March. What we call that empower your personal engagement. The conference is That was hard. Thank you for um the students that you selected to come with

us are the vice president of community and the vice president of What doesn't begin for us? All right, Ryan. We raised enough money for Exactly. >> You're the one that goes out in front of the I'll make a motion to approve it donated school board. A couple of weeks ago, we got a great legislator actually extra this year for program and that saved us an extra $38,000 This is exciting because a lot of times it's difficult to have We have two large. One is just $14,000 for the other $8,000. But are there any questions about rounder. So it will be used in what classes? All right. Job done. Right. So, um earlier this year, the um um offered a screener to be used by district and uh to to identify students within um and so

with our eight coordinators, we applied for the grant and we were awarded it. So, it's in the amount of $5,850. to help identify students in the process. And we're looking forward to it because we use other measures and means to qualify or find students. But this will assist in helping identify students that are identified learners, students with disabilities. And so um we were one of um our goal for pilot next year second grade student at the end of the year and it's hard test but it's a nonverbal test. Um, the teachers are able to have you at full class. Yeah. So, as you know, we've had I would like And so I would like What that looks like? I don't know. You don't have a good time. Yeah, that was part of it. So even
