Join me in the pledgece to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God indivisible with Is that right? >> Open office. >> No, that's for next month. Is it on here? >> Yeah, it's on here. >> Oh, no. Okay. >> Okay. >> Cancel. >> We'll strike through that. >> We were going to do it and then [clears throat] decide to do it in J at the special board meeting. >> So, with that, we'll move on to good news. Miss Paige, if you and your team can come on up, Mr. Cotton. You stand in the middle. >> You guys can place all these guys. >> Well, I'll thank you. Chairman Bingan, trustees, I want to present to you Mrs. page, our state championship. >>
Just a few words that I'd like to share. Mrs. Paige, team, uh, what this signifies, the the hard work, dedication, vision that you collectively share and bring day in and day out in your craft. It's a culmination of this success and we're incredibly proud. Um, what's inspiring about this group is how they genuinely care for each other. um what they bring individually their best for not just themselves but for each other. It's truly inspirational and we're incredibly proud. Mr. Cotton. >> Yeah. Just wanted to add to that. So I want to talk on this page for a minute. She's been doing drama for 25 years at high school. Um portable buildings. She's been teaching in those and a little tiny classroom. And then she's has to work around a bunch of sports and everything that
goes on in that gym. You guys have to work around that. And I don't ever hear a complaint like they they're amazing with what they have facilities wise to use and you see the schools that they're up against and they're out dominating the competition all the time. It speaks just so much about your leadership, Miss Paige, and what you've done over the years. This is a long time coming. And then a couple weeks ago, me and uh Mr. Bour were out in the hallway and Miss Paige walked out of the room and this was at like 600 6:30 at night. Miss Paige walks out of the room and heads down the other hallway and these guys are getting ready for districts and they did not miss a beat. Like you can just hear pure racket
coming from the room and there was no like they were all coordinated. They didn't like Miss Paige left and they just took it and ran with it. So the dedication, the ownership that you guys take in your program, we're so proud of you. Our third banner that's going up in the gym. So we're super excited about that. So congratulations. Monroe is my assistant director. [laughter] Congratulations. [clears throat] >> Okay, team move on to reports. uh annual notice of our annual board meeting that will be January 20th at 5:30. Uh then we have notification for the special board meeting that's coming up executive session only for student hearings that's going to be on January 8th. Mr. Gilbert, your report, please. >> Mr. Chairman, members of the board, I was going to share with you our IRI
data this month, but we're going to hold off on that until probably February. So, part of the issue is we don't know exactly what the the new test is showing us that well yet. Um, and so we don't have anything trendwise to really show you other than the pretty graphics of the the current data. So, I I think if we have a couple more months, it'll give us some trend line to show um and give you a better idea and give me a better idea looking at with it. So, we'll hold off on that. [clears throat] Couple other things. Um an update on the community schools grant. So, the funding for the grant is set to expire on December 31st. Um, that's our community schools grant and all the staffing and programming that comes with
it. We have uh submitted our letter of support. Uh, I believe they have until December 18th for the appeal on it. Uh, so hopefully that course is reversed. If not, um, this will probably be the last year of the grant within our schools. And unfortunately that comes with a lot of community opportunity that we'll miss out on. So, we'll we'll keep you up to date on that. I know you guys got a a message from ISBA on that as well. And then the last thing I wanted to share with you is Idaho Ed News is reaching out to districts who are not currently up to date on their library bill. Um, ours is set for the final reading tonight on it. So, just be prepared for that. The state department sent out a survey to
districts and then that survey was uh freedom of information act requested by Idaho Ed News to do a good job on everybody witness. So, uh after tonight our ours does meet the the requirements in the the new legislation with that. So, when we get to that part, I'll I'll discuss that a little bit. But those are the updates I had for you for tonight. So, do you have any questions? I'd be happy to attempt to answer them. >> Okay. >> So, with the shutdown done, are we heard anything back from PSMI on >> Yes. movement? >> We haven't heard back from PSMI, but we are there was a meeting Dominique attended the the funding for our project is is still there. What we aren't aware of is what's going on with Congressman Simpson's portion of
this. So, PSMI part of that we're the big part we're waiting on is uh the core engineers has to come out and do a land valuation. That request was put in prior to the shutdown. We haven't heard anything back from [clears throat] the court. Once that valuation is done, then that'll be submitted in for the lease and the lease will be approved and that will move us into that next phase of the the grant. >> Yeah, I did see on her report that their response was there on back order. >> Yeah. And hopefully there's not another pending shutdown looming >> February 1st. Anything else? Anyone else? >> Uh, board of trustee public engagements. Anybody got anything to report? >> No. >> Um, I have uh two. So, last Wednesday at our BFW dinner, we presented
our Voice of Democracy Patriots pen and our teacher of the year locally. Um, so we had um Sher Barter was there at dinner with her and her husband and then with uh Toeer and his family. His daughter won the Patriots pen at the post and Sherry won the teacher of the year for elementary at the post and at the district level. We do not know beyond that at this point. So um that's all my engagement there. >> Anybody for public input? We'll move on to approval of the agenda. Motion at this time to approve the agenda. >> Second. All >> in favor? >> I consent agenda. Anybody want anything pulled out? [clears throat] >> No. >> Okay. With that, I'll take a motion to approve the consent agenda. >> Second. All in favor? >> I
have no delegations. No unfinished business. Okay. You're up. >> 20 minutes. >> 30 minute minimum. I can I [clears throat] can talk. So, Mr. Chairman, members of the board, I'm here tonight to request uh for myself and our mentor specialists to attend the IASA and I AESA. Oh, I messed that up. I ASA a lot of vowels there. Um spring conference. Um it's a two-day conference. It's March 2nd and 3rd. It's in Boisey. We just drive to it and some back um each day. and it is probably the best conference that is provided um yearly have national speakers that come typically they have some lawyers that will come and speak towards rulings that have happened in the ninth circuit which is what will what impacts Idaho um I I give the mentor specialists a hard
time because I'm you're I go to all the ones that are like how are we going to get sued um and then she goes to all the others so we kind of divide and conquer so just there was additional information in your board packet. I don't know if you have any additional questions. >> Does look like it cost us 500 bucks total. >> Yes. >> For registration. >> Yes. >> I like being informed on how not to get sued. >> Always good. >> Yeah. They usually have a number of really good speakers that are um it's so early in the year. I look the agenda's not formalized yet, but typically they have a lot of the hot topics. Um, and then there's usually opportunities, most of the directors from around the state to go to
it. And there's usually a couple of sessions where directors just get together just to discuss, you know, what's happening in the district, how are they handling it? Most districts are having pretty similar challenges. questions. >> I give motion to [clears throat] the request to attend the SA and IA blue jeans spring conference. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Thank you. >> Welcome. Have fun. >> Please keep us out of court. >> Do my best. [laughter] Uh, hey, there's a library bill. Let's talk about that. >> Mr. Chairman, members of the board, we have the li revisions to the library materials reconsideration. Um, so just a little background on this. We've had this policy in place for ages uh and a and a process for when there's a challenge to any of the
material. State code now requires that you have the definition from Idaho code 18-1514 that um lays out all the things that our legislature has deemed are harmful to minors. So it's a required uh set of statements that we must have in there. So we're just adding that doesn't really change what we've done in the past. [clears throat] Just like to remind you this is what local control [clears throat] in Idaho looks like. questions. Motion to approve. >> So move second. >> All in favor? >> I Okay, there executive session motion to return. >> So moved. Second. >> All in favor? >> Merry Christmas everyone. >> Merry Christmas. That's a record age.
