up seemed easier than pushing forward. I felt discouraged more than once, but I never left those moments to find me. Instead, I chose to act. I asked questions when I didn't understand something, stayed after class, and put in the extra time to truly learn. I retook assignments, resubmitted work, and pushed myself to grow. The grade I eventually earned reflected not just my knowledge, but my effort. And it reminded me of what I'm capable of when I don't give up. I didn't do any of this alone. My teachers challenged me, supported me, and reminded me that learning is a process. My family encouraged me through every moment of doubt and I kept pushing myself knowing that even when things were difficult, the effort is always worth it. So today, I accept this award not just as
recognition of hard work, but as a symbol of resilience, growth, and perseverance. I hope to carry these lessons with me as I reach for even bigger goals. Because I truly believe anything is possible when you put your mind to it. Thank you for everyone who believed in me. I couldn't have done this without your support. [applause] Now I believe the board we have our first high school student and I believe the teacher is Mr. Romo. >> Yeah. Please come to the podium Mr. >> Good afternoon everyone. 003freshman student of the month, Riley Coulson. He is a quiet, serious student, but very consistent. In class, he stays focused and uses his time well and completes his work responsibly. He doesn't just finish on time. He cares about the quality of what he turns in and makes an effort to do his best. Something I find especially meaningful is how uh how rewarding it is to hear other teachers speak about writing with the same respect and recognition. We consistently see his strong work ethic, his classroom engagement and the quality of his work. This show us uh that his commitment is not limited to one class but it's reflect reflected across all his classes. Riley remind us that you don't always have to be loud to stand up. Sometimes consistency, discipline, and daily effort speak louder than
words. For these reasons, Riley was selected as a superintendent freshman student of the month. Congratulations. on this. >> Smile. >> One, two, three. Smile. >> Yay. Once she sets her mind on something, there's no way
that she's going to slow down. In fact, this is a fact. I fact check it. She has already booked the event hall at Curly School and completed all necessary documents, the paperworks as early as last week for the senior's ball this coming May. Yes, Mr. President, members of the board, um policy DIE removes the June 2016 reference to the office of management and budget OM compliance supplement to ensure the policy points to the current version used for audit and compliance purposes. Regulation DIER was updated to align the district's audit and financial monitoring terms with current federal and state requirements. The most significant change reflects the Office of Management and Budgets revisions to uniform guidance, which
increase the single audit threshold from 750,000 to $1 million in federal grants expended during a fiscal year. This updated threshold applies beginning with fiscal year 2026 audits as noted in the regulation. And uh um any additional questions on this?
