We are gathered here to honor the hard work, growth, and achievements of our young people who are ready to take their next step, high school. Let's begin our evening by standing together for the pledge of allegiance to be led by the Sha Ross. [Applause] I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. You may be seated. Thank you. [Music] It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to our eighth grade promotion ceremony. A celebration of growth, resilience, and the anxiety growing ahead. To our parents, families, and friends, thank you for joining us tonight. Your support, your love and encouragement have been the foundation of our students success. This milestone belongs to you as much as it does to them. To our dedicated teachers and staff, thank you for your passion, your patience, and your commitment to shaping not just learners, but confident and compassionate young people ready to take on the world. And to our eighth graders, congratulations. Today we celebrate the end
of one chapter and the beginning of another. You've grown so much academically, emotionally, and socially. You faced challenges, learned lessons, and created memories that will stay with you for years to come. This promotion isn't just about moving up a grade. It's about recognizing your journey every moment of your effort. Every time you push through, every time you showed up, even when it was hard, you've shown us what it means to grow with determination and heart. As you step into high school, you're not just starting over. your stepping forward with the experiences and values you've gained here as your guide. And while the path ahead will bring you challenges, I have no doubt you will continue to rise with courage, curiosity, and strength. We are so proud of each of you. You earned this moment, and
we can't wait to see all that you will become. So once again, welcome to our eighth grade promotion [Applause] ceremony. Let us now turn to two students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and exemplary character throughout their time at AU Elementary School. It is my honor to introduce the co- validictorians of the class of 2020. We've reached the end of our middle school journey and now we stand at the edge of something new. High school. Over the past few years, we all grown so much. We've learned new things in class, discovered who we are, and built friendships that I hope will last a long time. We had moments of stress, joy, and a whole lot of change together. One thing that meant a lot to me during middle school was getting the chance to play
high school sports with some of my friends. They challenged us to grow, to stay focused, and support each other both off and on the field. We shared wins, losses, long practices, and good memories that I'll never forget. But even outside of sports, we've all found moments that made these years special. Like hanging out with friends, playing games, or laughing about things that probably didn't even make sense. Those small moments matter. That sometimes the best part of school aren't just about what you learned, but we learned it with. We wouldn't be here without the people who supported us. Our teachers who gave their time and patience, and our families who believed in us and kept us going. Thank you for being in our corner. To the class of 2029, this is the only beginning. We have
so much ahead of us. New challenges, new opportunities, and the chance to make a difference in our own unique ways. Congratulations and thank you. Now, please join me in welcoming our second co- validictorian, Valentina Ramirez. Good evening teachers, families, friends, and fellow graduates. Two years ago, we walked into middle school not knowing exactly what to expect. We were younger, maybe a little nervous, and curious. We've come a long ways since then. In just two years, we've learned so much, not just about math, science, history, and writing, but also about who we are. We've grown, made friends, faced challenges, and even survived group projects meals. You discovered talents we didn't know we had and pushed through moments when we didn't think we could. Middle school taught us more than facts and formulas. It taught us how
to be better people. We learn to be responsible, support one another, and stand up for our beliefs. We learned that asking questions is just as important as finding answers. As we stand here today, ready to head into high school, it's okay to feel a mix of excitement and nerves. High school will bring new classes, new teachers, and new opportunities. It may feel like a big step, but just like we adjusted to middle school, we will adjust again. We are ready to teachers, families, thank you. You believed in us, guided us, and helped us become who we are today. We wouldn't be standing here without your support. To my fellow classmates, congratulations. We made it through these two years together. And now we can take the next step. Let's head into high school with confidence, kindness,
and courage to keep going. The best is yet to come. Thank you. The best is yet to come. At this time, it is my distinct honor to formally present the class of 2029.
