pres um Mr Mr is uh [Music] mson here I have a motion to ad I'll make the motion all those in favor say I to of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands nation under God indivisible with liy and justice for all first informational item is the issuance of the 2025 26 certified contracts Mr President members of the board um statute 15- 5366 and 15- 5381 now state that probationary and continuing teacher contracts for the ensuing school year shall be offered on or after March 15th of each year 2025 20126 certified teacher contracts are being recommended to be issued to the following teachers and we got this update from Arizona School Board Association but we also uh print it out uh I believe you have if not we can
share it with you um the uh AR it's right there it's right there summarizing it for you but those are the names we have uh no board action necessary this is a study session item only but we have to wait at least to March 15th any questions or on is this is this just teachers that are due for a contract like their contract is renewing I'll certifi all all of our certified after that all the teachers okay okay that's any further comment question move on the next item approval of the finance CL pleas from okay Mr President members of the board um the administration had has posted internally for the position of finance cler two applicants applied in were interview the administration is recommending em Vasquez for finance for position no board action necessary this
is an informational item only so just to share with you uh we had it posted for one week on February 14th through the 21st internal posting posted at five locations throughout campus Teachers Lounge school office district office special office cafeteria and Miss email to all staff um February 26 we had interviews with the committee it was uh myself and both of our finance analysts M Ginger player and on Friday February 23d Miss Vasquez she'll start in a few weeks so she still be special education office manager but she's going to be coming back and forth just working primarily with Miss Wy she getting familiar with Time Clock Plus payroll and just some other uh other issues accounts payable with Mr so we really wanted to keep this internal to really uh follow a recommended practice
from H Miss education Administration when you keep an internal you promote from within you establish credibility you really also provide motivation encourages staff to always think hey what else might come up that I can apply for that I get into and so it really just also uh it's critical in maintaining retention employing retention so uh Miss vus did very well and um that's where we are you say she staying in the position she right right now cuz she's been to you what we're going to have to do is we're going to have to open that up but we we can't have her to leave there right now and so she's going to just be we're just going to be figuring that out are we going to do that position internally too yes okay just concerned
yeah so we're gonna go from probably from uh this meeting to the next meeting April April 7th and 9th so the next meeting the target dat is to have that special office manager position so why is that about 24,000 a year um I would have to double check with terer Mr well it says 30 hours 12 months at $17 an hour so just the gas saying about about 24,000 a year um I'd have to check the yeah I know it's an estimate but they're going to try and figure out is this a position or no this position is going to be um most slly in time disposition is going to replace one of our finance anals that we have right now okay so we want to just we don't want to wait to till that
person most likely on then try and find some find some before so they can they properly and so that we have that person already ready to step right in when that position opens up and that point you go up from0 well right now it's for 30 when position she might move no that position what he's saying is that position in general is 30 hours that's a yeah that that was this was done in collaboration with Tyler as far as for for budgetary purposes but also to make sure that um we're planning and also we're being fiscally responsible to okay any other questions or comments on that we'll go on to next item which is the approval of volunteer coach softball coach Jake Tucker Mr President members of the board Jake Tucker has been interviewed for
a position of the volunteer softball coach Mr tuckle will not start his first until approved IP fingerprint card and received recommend the appointment of jakee Tucker as a volunteer softball coach on the receip of an IDP fingerprint card questions tells me that that's the head coaches go to the next item which is Administrative salary schedule um Mr President members of the board off Unified School District does not have a salary schedule for administration and it is best practice to adopt and improve a salary schedule for all employee groups including Administration attached to the proposed administrative salary schedule no board no board action necessary this is an informational item only um Mr Mo can talk more in detail to this on on Wednesday when he's here he will be here but just a little background U
other districts have admin salary schedules on UniFi School District to the high school district so this is a good practice to have so we'll have a administrative salary schedule we have the classified salary schedule that we revised last year and also the certified salary schedule so this is a this is a positive that we're getting more consistent and having best practices in all different areas any question or comment on that no next item then is approval of disposal of table pitching machine and F Mr President members of the board a broken table and broken pitching machine are being recommended for disposal because each item has a fixed asset tag board approved disposal necessary pictures of the items are attached also being recommended for disposal or broken student tables and chairs word actually necessary so can
you put that up on the yeah yeah so this is this is very just being proactive uh all those chairs and desks are broken I believe so I was told by Daniel and then I verified with and they're either old in CR or they're missing legs or they're they don't have feet or some of these are what 30 40 50 60 years so so so you know this is being proactive versus whereas as it accumulated you remember in the North End Zone as we get it we can clear it out this is what also our finance consultant Tyler Mo has recommended to just to tag it you guys approve it and we just move it out and last year through Essa right through Esser we got um the desk uh chair combo for a lot
of the high school and middle school classes so the they can slide in to the side and the desk and the basket on the bottom we got a couple dozen of those to replace these so we're not leaving anybody sitting on the floor we have a lot of replacements my my thing the reason I asked about the chairs like was that picture in particular all those chairs are stacked are they're all bad though like we can't donate some of those to like the thrift St or something we can't donate okay okay Ty's been very he's reminded us we have to really follow okay fed inventory requirements real careful these items that if we V to dispose will be like the stuff be in the football field will be done as an auction I so that
way it are us reuse situations I know that we're not allowed to do that with we use a website called public and and it'll say like a lot of 75 and we'll package them up and they have to come get them and it's an online option and it's probably the best way to get rid of stuff like this and then if they don't sell or then we can recycle them or we can dispose of them another way or we can't just say hey this all goes to Jim Smith or this all goes to whoever yeah we have to at least make an effort B website I just bought something in that website day Public Surplus I never had public before any further discussion or questions on that we item up first reading of governing board
policy advisory 89 88 Mr President members of the board of asba policy Services commitment of service to our subscribers includes listening to your feedback and improving our services to best support you thus as we have shared at County meetings via our PLL on policy newsletter and at our annual conference we are in the process of conducting a full review of our model manual and are rolling it out in sections for manageability this manual update is a team effort of policy and legal experts as well as district and educational leaders for eding each document part to send each section to you section A documents along with the revisions of policies to policies gbk and ji are provided below policy documents ACA ACAA AC a a r gbk and j i i include the title n updates
from 20 USC 1681 education LS 19729 the updated documents are available in policy brid for adoption as with any other policy advisory so what I'm going to do is there there's I'm not going to read Rea like like I've done in the past I'm just going to ask Angelina you have in front of you you can either look in your on your attachment or follow on the screen I'm just going to go to the page number and just point out where you know where where you see any underlined words or group of words those are the changes so I'll start on page um I'll start on on Pol advisory 809 um AC District Mission and belief statement page five where you can see at the top you have under the underlined words there in the
middle and also at the end you have a lot though has been crossed out just because these the revision is being done go on page six you see just some highlights there at the top The District staff who have and who are everything else pretty much has been crossed out and on page seven most of it has been crossed out there you see C D and that is all new all those underlined parts so I'll just kind of give you a little bit of time to look at that let me know when the ra go to the next okay advisory 810 you go to page nine um AA School District legal status uh that you see the underline part um The District's legal boundaries can be found in the transcript that the county school superintendent
enally files with the Board of Supervisors and county assessor Miss valuel has that in case you want to see it but that's that's pretty much the revision to this policy go to advisory 811 we go to page 12 ABA Community involvement in education you see everything that's been taken out the underline part is the new part let me know when you're ready ad advisory 812 you go to page 14 abaa parental involvement you can see mostly everything else has been taken taken out the district supports the active involvement of parents and Guardians as partners and their students's educational activities that's the only that's the new part go to advisor [Music] 813 page 16 AC non-discrimination equal opportunity there's just that one part that's underlined has been added and go to page 17 the regulation ACR
non-discrimination equal opportunity just um pretty much who has has been added a few words taken out complaint process procedure is taken out go to page [Music] 18 everything else is the same page 19 AC exhibit non-discrimination equal opportunity there's the exhibit pretty much everything is the same so now I'll go to advisory 8:14 page 21 go to page 22 ACA section sexual harassment you see what's taken out there and title on line of the education Amendments of 1972 everything else is just pretty much the same if you go to page 23 for your attention where it says education Amendments of 1972 TI 9 as amended in 2024 TI 9 that part's taken out so this we're back to the 2020 um right so that's page 2 three if you go to page 24 the regulation
ACR sexual harassment there you see procedures taken out it's process the word complaint process everything else is is pretty much still there the same page 25 insane exhibit AC sexual harassment Complaint Form 26 and 27 it's the same um 8:15 this part is the probably the the most inth part from 29 to 40 so advisor 815 ACA title mind sex discrimination see on page 29 um this one go ahead their correction grammatically is wrong because it's now an incomplete sentence just say the district do not discriminate based on and and hears too that yeah yeah okay okay you forgot the N actually it just say B on and then it goes to there yeah ad to all okay including is also new everything else is uh letter D that those two words are taken out
words so so to is no long is only sexual harassment now um well it says it's yeah it's title n sex discrimination okay no I'm only asking because they took out the hosal environment right so they have like a letter B an objectively offensive letter D is taken out complainant you saw what's taken out and it says complainant mean means and it has the definition then a respondent means and it has a definition so if a student if a student tries to report Title 9 and it is hostile but and it's it no longer has that in there how do you do that the best thing that we would do is we would just call I'm just I'm just curious because now because it was both so now so now what is the process in
that situation Department and ask for guidance okay yeah okay and they they have lawyers specifically that focus on title and they can provide guidance and help us make sure we're doing everything correct okay page 30 you just have pretty much um go to the bottom confidentiality formal is is new complaining and any anything else is pretty much the same um go to page 31 you see they take out as amended in 2024 Title 9 also a report or formal complaint that's on the last paragraph under retaliation prohibited all right now this part is the is the lengthiest part of of what's been added or taking up from page 32 to page 41 okay so um AC a regulation title N9 sex discrimination you have a response to sex discrimination taken out complaint process and you
see on the paragraphs that that follow all the underlying parts that have been added and once the was taken out um a a actual knowledge means notice of sexual harassment of sexual harassment to a District's timeline coordinator attorney employee you have section B sex discrimination taking out sexual harassment you have letter C all that underlined part ability page 33 you saw title n what's been taken out and you go to the next paragraph you see all the underlined Parts a formal where no formal complaint has been filed sexual harassment not discrimination not sex discrimination um supportive measures provided shall remain confidential if possible and we have all the underline part even if no formal complaint has been filed the teline coordinator shall properly a b c and d that's all that's all new give you
a minute to look through that everyone ready to go up 34 page 34 removal of a responded key point you have again the term that's consisted D sex discrimination is taken out and the term is sexual harassment response to the notification of cond you see all that part has been taken out all the way to the bottom a b c d e and F removed g&h removed following paragraph removed everything removed up until response to a formal complaint all that paragraph all that is new formal complaint me a document filed by a complant or signed by coordinator then you see the rest right there that's all that's all rised page 36 page 36 all the first paragraph first of all all that part all the way the whole page all that is name okay first
paragraph letter a number one 2 3 4 five b c DF okay any questions on any on that page pretty much the whole pages Stand Out page 37 once again the whole top part is new p7 page 38 everything's pretty much know stage in formal resolution process any time part to reaching a determination regarding responsibility during a formal complaint process the district May facilitate an informal resolution process such as mediation so that's stress that there mediation that does not invol full investigation and judication provided if the district and it goes into detail you know how how you can use why you can use mediation if you follow rest of the what stated there the rights of the parties are written notice disclos just all this is like I said all this is is is new
um a B and C dismissal of complaint there's the description the district May dismiss a formal complaint or any allegations there in at any time and then it shows you um what must take place all this entire page everything is any questions or comments on that that page all those all those revisions page 39 first paragraph of the top is new upon dismiss of a formal complaint or any allegation during the district sh promptly send notice of the dismissal the reasons for the dismissal simultaneously to the par and it says there the decision maker and our a decision maker and investigator is Miss Williams Mr Casey is our appeals officer the decision maker the duties come me know underline the decision you took the decision and Miss Queeny is our coordinator right Miss Queeny is
no longer our coordinator no longer who who is our coordinator now iness we guessing we have two other people taking care of it right now if she needs to she's also doing that as well we have and both of them that receive training some minor underl changes there 40 termination in appeal process um you go down a and C has key underling part there for or against complainant or respondents family the individual complained or respond that affect the outcome of the matter so once again you see some some underline Parts whether you see for or against complainants or respondents generally or an individual complainant or respondent you see the last paragraph once again let's consist with drop that's the first reading and so the second reading we just um go through the introductory part policy
Services advisory that you all have on page uh page two and three and I believe that will be the second reading so um Can can I ask what is with the map the map that relates to one of the that is actually from I believe hold on sorry I like it but I didn't know what is that is School District legal status I told I suggested Angelina okay have this ready just in case it says here the district's legal boundaries can be found in the transcript that the county scho superintendent fil with the Board of Supervisors and county assessor so that's what on file okay in case you guys like to see okay other questions that's Enda [Music] can I just point something out at the the so at the Wednesday meeting which if I
could pull up right now on the consent agenda there will be just because normally we don't have anything in the consent agenda except doctors and um uh the I'm doing another booster club donated uh the school board to the softball Raiders um they I know one of our board members isn't going to be happy about the color but the company um said red B really really fast and it being out in the sun all the time it would turn pink then it turn pink yeah so um we did a little compromise and then on um Friday actually they also um not that one but this they donate needed um uh speakers for people to announce uh at the softball and baseball so softball got one and Bas got one so they're in our shed and
they belong to us but for statute we have all donations have to be board approved otherwise it revert to the original owner so everything that the uh the booster club gives us we have to officially approve and then it becomes ours where is this going to be installed huh where's it going to be installed the scoreboard M the best know that well the best thing I could think of is just right out there in the outfi okay like the baseball the baseball scoreboard is in right field be right there everybody can see it players teams people in the stands and the cars that's probably the best location so Ro natural I hope we do got we got to come back and do it and also added e so this will be here for this meeting
and then it'll after that we'll we'll pull it out you okay good stuff good news great news second say I yourself now
