003that be offered to grades say it again grad High School all we have four or five periods right now period okay they're going to eventually get into autoab later on but they're just giving the basics of foundation before they get that uh Mr uh president members of the board next we have Mr V our English learner coordinator and we're getting an early start so to speak um first met last week and he's going to he's going to share with you our Aela update planning and preparation now the challenge is when you're maybe not doing as well in an area to go up and to keep going up but in this s he did such a great job last year with his team that for K to eight he had 10 out of 10 points on
004each the English Runner section for the letter grade and then on the high school section we had 10 out of 10 points also so the challenge now is going to be to maintain that 100% at each level but it's very critical that one extra point can be the difference from the C to a b or a B to an a we're 900s of of of a point away from a b at the high school so these 10 points are critical uh we met last week K and I then uh this morning we met with Miss Fernandez the high school PLC team leader and so uh Mr V is going to share with you the plan and what we're going to do over the next two months to get to the Finish L Mr a light
005one hello everyone good evening so my name is I'm a high SCH and I am part of the department to and I'm here to share important information regarding the 2025 spring Accel assess so the first thing that you need to know guys I would like to share with you is the test Administration window for the spren accary assessment will start on January 27th and goes through until March 14 so at will provide 7even weeks to any District any office to test all students in our case we don't have we don't have S weeks we have six because uh the end of the third quarter will be on March 7th so we have six six weeks so we have a meeting with drto and my teachers my co-workers and we think the best idea for all
006e students is to test them during six weeks okay so the test Administration window for the a school district will start on February 3rd and until March 6 okay so we are planning to test uh we have 103 G students doing six weeks okay so who are the teachers okay who belongs to the E department so the test administrators for the AC assessment test are is vas she will be testing all kindergarten students we have five only five students uh we have missa she will be testing all first graders second graders and third graders we have missoma she will be testing all uh e students from fourth grade until 12th grade and myself Mr I I'm going to be testing all four graders on 12 grade students okay so the uh this is uh the
00773 report this is based from from a okay so how many e students do we have here in a high school district so from ker through 8 we have 74 e students okay and in high school from 9 to 12 we have 29 students okay in total we have 103 e students this is the the total population of e students thinking in our calculation from the 74 students only 69 from in 38 will be part of the C group and in high school from the 29 only 26 okay I'm going to explain why because uh in 0 there's there there's a rule the rule says any students enroll after the first 10 days of school will not be part of the account so everybody will take the test yes but the number for the accountability
008will not including those who were roll after the first 10 days of school okay so for the accountability for ker to a we have only 69 and for high school we have only 26 but again everybody will be taking their salary assess so this is the schedule we have so far we are planning to test all pre-emergence students uh on the on the from February 3rd to February 7 so we're planning to test all of them during the first week next we're planning to move on and continue with all basic students now we have a bigger number so we are planning to start from February 10 to February 19th so almost two weeks for them and then to move on with all intermediates okay so we are planning to once we're done with the basic
009to move on and continue with all intermediates from February 20 until February 28 and for the makeup test sometimes students are so for the student who will not be here during those days we're applying to test them between March 3rd through March okay we believe this is the best schedule because for example in February we have very important days first on February 6 we will be having the as test this is a test for all Juniors and seniors andom okay last year so s more J and most of the our high school will be taking this test um next uh you know on Fe from February 14 from February 12 to February 14 we will be holding the parent Teachers Conference it means during that week we only have Monday and Tuesday is a full
010day but Wednesday Thursday and Friday will be early this and that the week up next the next week so we will be having a short week because we there's no school on Monday because it's president day so that's why we will be having one week for the pre merging but two weeks for the basic and the intermed so this is the students for a accountability okay one more time we have um the total is 103 right we have 70 74 students but we will be testing for the accountability only 69 okay so for the from iner through eight as a preemergent we have 27 students it represent that 39.1% for basic we have 21 students and it represents the 30.4% and the intermediate 21 student that represent that 30.4% okay in high school the total
011numbers are is 26 we have only five students for the preer proficiency level seven for the basic and the highest one is the intermediate proficiency level with 14 students okay so as a team as a teacher we hope everybody can be proficient in English that's the goal right but to learn a second language it's it's a process that it takes time so focus on the e e proficiency State average uh during the 2023 8 througha the stage average was 12.76% the previous year from K through a uh the percentage the state average was 14.39% our goal during this school year is to accomplish that 25% okay so we can be I we can be safe and we can get those points right why because the proficiency points criteria is to meet or to exceed the
012state average so the 25% of the population for either grade it represent uh 18 students with the overall proficiency level of proficiency so 18 of 160 9 for high school the during the 2023 the state average was 21.28% the previous the year uh the state average was 0.04% and our goal for during this school year again is at 25 to reach the 25% that means s students of 26 to become overall profession level of Prof so do you have any questions so how do you test uh it takes time to test okay so the every student is testing five units or units writing reading listening and speaking okay so in order to be proficient they need 250 for each in total they need to they need they need uh the average they need 1,000 points
013but they need 250 points so they will be taking like four five units and they need to in order to be proficient they they need to score 250 points in each we already share with them every I mean we we already Shar with all you students the that result from the last year like for example uh mercy on your ready you were 245 so you just need five more points to be proficient on this one on writing on on speaking you have two 230 you need 20 points to be proficient so they already know what which one is their strongest unit and they already know in which unit they need to focus a little bit more so well and what we're doing is we're um in last November we just start with tutorial so all
014e students are staying after school three times a week Monday Tuesday and Thursday from 4 from 3:20 to 4:20 and so that's what we're doing so far so very State take the same test uh not it's online it's on like test it's not the same test as last year because it's not the same question but it's very simar it's different for GR level so for example the the salary assessment says for Kinder it's on paper okay uh there's another test for first it's one test for second in bir it's one more test for fth and four and fth it's the same test for 6 seven and 8 and it's the same test for 9 10 11 you're doing a great job brother thank you lucky to have Mr Hopkin members of the board we started
015looking this morning at the high school list of 14 students that are right close to being proficient so we started breaking down you know several different students that for example one student at listing is 222 out of 250 so so some of the other areas are already maybe 255 out of 250 in reading so there's we want to try and get all of them but we really want to try and raise awareness of the ones that are really close like in two or three of the categories they already have a proficient score maybe they're 222 out of 250 we got focus on that and then they can every little point every every Point matters I mean that's where we just having this deep dive discussions right now but um have a direct impact on the
016school abely I knew it had an indirect better they are with English if they become proficient these high school students from intermed to proficient it's also going to help Ina the other was sh the ex looks like doable B I mean if you take a look at students we need to get to that proficiency compared to the number of students we have intermediate band it looks like it is an achievable goal well last year's High School right last year's High School the state our proficiency that came proficient was like 30 to 40% right very so what percentage of our school is English NS that's 103 about the fourth we're 4 fluctuat from 4 419 to 4 to to 3 80 so we're about Mr President our next item uh to share with the board and
017the community is um rata security cameras upd now you have it as an attachment and the reason I just want for you guys to see it as an attachment is is uh strategic locations thank you there're strategic locations so I I really don't want to have our strategic locations out there yeah and put them on the board you have them your attachment you can see it so I'll just go Slide by slide okay um you see on that uh on the first one there um uh on the first slide slide two you can see the vertic command so pretty much what Mr Simon was sharing earlier today with me is that we'll be able to have multiple staff with a tablet you know just the tablets we have here we can connect through a their
018site it's going to set up for like the M District school office to have access to this uh the site but also if you notice you go to the next slide on on three the hardware those are the bullet camera series that are already uh they're already they're already in six different locations but to the right is the application so our school safety team on slide three we're going to have a number of our our school safety team members with that application for example miss Mr Casey um uh SRO Richardson Chief tibit campus security Monitor and our facilities team managers Mr Mr they're going to have this also and Mr Simon our manager so we're going to have multiple people with the application so that we have more sets of eyes for access to this
019just for for the Safety and Security of the campus you see there the first location there uh shows the the Middle School Wing in cafeteria right there on slide four and so that provides a a good area a good view of of what that location can cover you see on Slide Five the recess area behind the grand stands all major Ingress Andress points are covered so that's another good location is covering the north sector for the most part you know any possible uh uh North entry points slide six outside the district office middle school gymnasium front parking lot and so uh this is like we said like I just stated right now this is the north Northeast sector covered and and any possible uh entry points you have on slide seven bus drop off and
020pickup area that's another major entry point the South part of our campus and that is uh covering uh all those that location right there uh this is very this is a very critical location as well all major thorough first through campus are now monitor 247 365 24 days 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year and you guys are all familiar with that location there it's crit that's where all of our cars come in for the most part that Park if they're not parking alongside parallel to the northwell road that one a slide number nine that's going to get every single person who comes inside the school office that's where we have our most traffic it's going to have all staff who go in all parents who go in so we'll
021know who's coming in for who and at what time and uh they're all M wanted to highlight Mr Simon Shar this with me all traffic monitored and recorded at all times with cloud backup so long story short if the camera is damaged everything that is that is being recorded is outside of for cut it's it's not just in the camera it's in the cloud so uh it's a great great way to just have access to the data you see slide 10 this kind of shows you uh one of the features Camera Plus machine learning AI the artificial intelligence it if you see on the right side it has a time when it's actually a staff member going from the district office to their room using uh I believe using the red cart that Angelina uses
022so it really get get to the detail and it shows what time they were they were in that area actually thought that was a dollar it's not uh SL number 11 like I stated each individual is tracked so you see we have we have a few couple people right there you can zoom in and then if you go on to slide 12 you can see it even more it shows the direction direction coming from so it has the time in the six different frames 132 up to the seconds and just it's it's a really helpful security feature and slide 13 shows the zoom capabilities so like Mr Simon was sharing with me it can also get up to the license plate of of a vehicle coming by so that just kind of shows how we
023can can help out our school safety team just with um you know anything and everything so any questions or comments on slides I have two questions um I noticed that this interest right here is not in monitor at all right right on here yep this one right here okay um and second so in my second question is is like so let's say in Slide Five does the camera pan does it like move or is it like staged in that area um that's a good question I I believe I believe it's set in that area but it it's able to get to zoom out yeah to the angle I believe it set like that but that's something I can follow Mr S as far as that is a capability but if not just to set it
024up towards getting the wi good questions put question com are we well I actually one more um are we wanting all access points covered that would be ideal to have as many of the access points covered so whatever we don't have right away with these six we can always go back and get Mr Simon does have some cameras that aren't verata that you can also place in the areas you're talking about so you do have the capability to put other cameras up that maybe aren these ver until we get another one necessary okay because then like in slide 11 if you like go over to the right over more like over like over yep like over here there's more will be here too yeah I do I do like how wide these cameras do go
025and they're very clear yeah I really do like them and I like how they can track who's been where at what time yeah and then the application now we're have at least seven people from the school safety team with it on their phone at all is there any sort of alert on this for my t on campus although I realiz a good good for I kind of that could be tricky because we get havina on campus you wouldn't want people being disturbed at 11 o' a group of hav come for sure we can can everything okay actually with the AI feature it might be able to be set up to exclude something besid absolutely follow Mr s we'll see what else they're all up they're set and that's this is a big POS so they're
026up right now and they are monitoring right now as I see several things one is that we have teachers here lat just an add security for those teachers yes second thing is that if there was an altercation on the school grounds between a teacher and a student and the student stated that you know they were been whatever that you would have video proof to show that protect the teacher right show the teacher teacher wasn't over over physical with the kid and then of course the obvious is add a lot more protection to the campus and for the kids so this is just win win win win all the way around team did a great job they wed the whole campus for at least an hour and they were just double and triple checking the best

046you know what that's that's that's that's a good point um The Challenge there might be as far as just how many spaces we have here um but but look look guys we can process all this but at same point at the same point then the teachers can park out where the student parking lot is so the what I would suggest is that if a kid has to go out to their vehicle and they would have to go to one of the two offices and say I need permission to go to my car so then that way either the school office or I know okay uh Jimmy is going out to a school car and if you're not back in 10 minutes 15 minutes then I'm marking you absent right but but with that with that
047being said though I've had one instance with someone in the school office who keeps telling children that they are not allowed to go out to their vehicle we have to revisit that because I know that those one expectations in the past like they they Cann just go to their they're trying this person is saying that they're leaving school campus they're not leaving school campus that is still part of the campus you know what might help that what might help that is up till today between Jose myself and Brandon we hadn't really taken into account that maybe there's not a need for the 8 foot chaining fence along the wall so Cher's working with us to try and figure out a cost analysis of of with maybe that we know you you talked to me about
048this about trying to figure out how to get the you know the chain link fence to come up here and so you know we shared that with Brandon um that would take some some uh research with us in the county county before because Brandon said you have to make sure you're 24 feet away from the road right for emergency vehicles and then we would have to add another gate so so but I I'll be honest just brainstorming now and as Tyler gives me more information I'll share that with you guys as soon as possible if there's not a need to put an 8ot chaining fence right here because we can do it right here for purposes already discussed you have to put two gates that really helps us right here with the gate here and
