002to go over with you and also for anyone in the audience who to follow can have it up on the light board just wanted to give you an update and also the community on the uh the uh fire alarm School saf project is almost complete uh the contractors FBI Constructors along with climate Tech subcontractors who are programming the fire alarms and putting the communication panels in every building and the deputy State Fire Marshall will be conducting a comprehensive check of the entire campus on Friday June 7th FCI Constructors and climatic have been working for many weeks now day and night to complete the project as quickly and efficiently as possible our facilities team of notably Mr oon has also been working with FCI Constructor project superintendent Mr Alo Casto climatech so this is a a
003very exciting time uh to just maintain our focus on school safety at all times for our students staff and families and just want a little side note Mr Gano our project superintendent has done a great job uh just comparing um you know the last few projects we've had this the the organization he has the agenda his his his team every meeting and he's very detailed he here at night and and I saw with my own eyes uh he'll be here late checking on the climate tech people walking walking where where they where they're working on whatever building they're on and I'll just give a personal example he was here in the district office when they were running the the alarm system through here and we you start talking and and we're going through all the
004different buildings what they've done in every building before you know what he goes you better go home I go how come it's 10:30 oh goodness so we were talking when he was telling me showing me just we were watching what they were doing I mean literally pulling the wires from here to the to my office to the district's office to the library and but he's right there watching them and and he's just giving me an update on each building and and and those communication panels so everyone knows there's going to be one in every building now so anyone from any building where that communication panel is located you pick it up and make an all call so you can make an all call so we don't just have to depend on the one intercom in
005the school office from the auto shop to the primary building to the cafeteria um anyone can pick it up and say um we have a lockdown we have a lock down so if anyone sees something and they want to wait till being notified everyone now has access to that communic to a communication panel in everybody excellent so it's really um it's really first class and I really wanted to share that with everybody uh today also wanted to share a summer school we have a really uh very exciting uh time right now believe we have around 80 students more or less I remember Dr sh tell me usually we have 20 to 25 oh wow we have 80 students right now and how that I share with me that 105 students St in the cafeteria this
006first week every day we' never had those numbers those are great numbers so they're it's open all day for our kids from from you know from when as young as they can get here to 18 breakfast and and lunch and so also for the community for the prices but uh we have a really big turnout in our in our attendance and the kids who are also maybe not in summer school but want to come and eat here and for our our for our first thir grader uh summer basketball camp breakfast and lunch is also going to be open so they have any they're practicing they go get lunch they come back later in the day and they're going to have the the camp during the day so from 6:30 to 5:30 we'll have our full
007facility staff here so we'll have facility staff if if they need any help for from the grounds team or the custodial team but there'll also be breakfast and lunch served as well that's uh that concludes my report okay just one more about the lunch program this is the first year that they can congregate and non- congregate so they can eat in the cafeteria or they get it to go a plate ad change that rule for this year for all Ru school districts qualify so they don't have to come eat in the cafeteria they can come and get it to go plate and then take it wherever they perfect but it's the kids it's the kids themselves that have to come pick it up not the parents to summer time or all year Su just for

010years and made a tremendous difference in the time that you've been here I know the first year was a really odd year for all of us coming out of Co like that I knew you were literally substituting and filling in teaching classes half the day and I remember somebody in the community was like oh that's good you want your principal to do that I'm like you do realize the principal has other work that needs to be done too but that's what it took and that's what you did to get the job done um your your first retirement didn't take so we had ordered a going a departure gift for you that when it arrived we were a little bit surprised at at the scale of it but then like I said the retirement didn't take
011so we were we have this for you from your first retirement and I don't have my glasses on so I can't Dr V both thank you for all you have done for the student staff and Community all those schools now even though we fought against second retirement so um yeah we can't express how at least I can't express how than all that you've done here in the district You' got going the it shows both you know you and Dr were a great team it shows on the campus and where it really shows is in the attitude of the staff so I can't thank you enough for everything you've done so much so is it 24 or 25 years 24 okay she was research point something yeah round up you're 20 20 plus what the says

026or something if I'm um instead of doing three meetings in a month we have one meeting at the beginning 10 reg business then we do the other one later in the month to meet that time frame we could do that I think the only reason that I don't think we can move it because technically we have to have them within a certain number of days from each other we could move essentially to do that in my mind what we would do is eliminate the study session that month yeah and then which could make the Wednesday meeting go longer because we' be discussed why why not just move both of them down why not still do the study session and the regular board meeting but just move them down into the later into the month I
027think teally we can't do that based on our policy meetings have to happen for the official meetings off yeah because I think we're held by statute on that too yeah so I would love to see if we had to have a special meeting so instead of doing three meetings that month just canc let's just cancel the study study session have one on that day then do the one towards the end of the month we're still doing two back to me would be fine I think we all for schol bus well then we can we could probably get all the school's work done in those two meetings not going to take forever take minutes it's it's statute that we can't get around that says we have have to propose budget and then within 15 days have
