so we will go right on into informational items uh governing board report is there anybody on the board that has anything to report at this time no okay then we will move on to superintendent report of current events Dr soltero the floor is yours Mr kerich we have a a very detailed but a very productive and I believe positive uh report today to share with all the members of the board and and everyone in attendance all the uh guest uh staff members people from throughout the community here in AO so first what I'd like to do is we did have a lot of things going on over the last few weeks in Pima County so what I'd like to talk about first and Angelina is going to help me out here with uh we'll go

one slide or one one presentation at a time first I want to share with you uh we have a picture from January 23rd Kima County Board of Supervisors they had a proclamation uh superintendent of schools Dustin Williams sent the invitation out I have the proclamation here I'll pass it down to miss Olson first uh it's a sample one we're going to get the real one with the signature from chair Miss Gala but uh you have some members there uh at the at the meeting you have a few members left to right from the Sunnyside Unified School District uh Bale Unified School District uh right on each side of superintendent Williams you have members from Tucson Unified School District One member from Foothills UniFi and to the far right is missa and I'm just right there

in the back just wanted to make sure and go there to represent a cuz I know you guys were very busy that day and it's tough it's tough to uh to get over there the meeting was on a Tuesday at 8:30 in the morning and so uh very nice superintendent Williams's office is going to send that Proclamation our way you can put it on display here in the district office for everyone in the community to come and check it out so a very proud moment and that's the first um the first part of me report the second part um Angelina is the Pima J Ted we can go to that to that uh uh slide and it's uh wanted just to share with everyone this was a a Pima J Ted meeting with um AO

unified and also Babu K Unified School District and so there you can see uh for everyone in attendance here those are some flight simulators part of their Aerospace program and I want to share with everyone Mr kerich and members of the board uh their Chief Financial Officer Mr B shared that that program is modeled after ao's program that flight simulator program for everyone here all the people in attendance that idea that Pima County has and their jted office in Tucson was modeled after AO Unified School District so that's a very very big accomplishment Mr Chi's Aerospace program if we can continue uh Miss Angelina just wanted to share with you there's a robotic arm from their uh from one of their classrooms and I'll just go through each slide uh with Angelina here for everyone

in attendance they gave us a tour there's Mr chigi our CTE director that's part of their Electronics lab very state-of-the-art lab that they have Aerospace Electronics or some more Electronics uh work there on display um there we have an a 3D animation and game design very impressive uh long story short if if you've seen the movie Iron Man that's how that um animation and game game Design Lab is you can see the figures being created right in front of you from the computer very cool very high-tech uh the next slide we have there's a their multimedia uh technology um focus so it gave us some good ideas to to uh bring back here to our district to try and have something like that set up for our for our CTE program we have then you

have right there um that's a video for you to see um so that is if you turn your head to the left a little bit um that's their that's their digital photography Green Room lab and they have it really we have a real similar setup in our computer lab back here we have the same kind of workstations they have in their computer lab and so just to show you that what we have here the the digital photography the Aerospace Electronics is what Puma County also has so it's very positive very impressive and I believe uh that's it right Angeline is that the last slide video okay then the next uh presentation we have is something uh very that we're all very proud of uh to share with you members of the board uh Dr sholon

myself we have a um before I do that before I do that I'm sorry I want to share with you part of our CT program I wanted this is what we presented Mr Chi and I um at the meeting January 24th and and I want to share with everyone in the audience as well we have an aerospace pilot program 55 students in the third year two flight simulators 25 drones we have a culinary arts program 56 students in the second year digital photography 26 students in our fifth year Electronics program 21 students in the second year um and also what we want what we want to share with you we shared this at the Pima Jed meeting Mr K and members of the board how we're trying to really apply this to our letter grade

at high school I believe we have six out of 20 points on this category for the high school letter grade so we're about 2.6 points from a b so we really want to focus on the uh the CTE the Career and Technical education sequence students complete it they have to pass a technical skills assessment they'll get 1.25 points CTE course a b or c outside of sequence get 0.25 points industry recognized credential license 05 points two licenses per student such as for OSHA food handler's license or a drone pilot so a lot of our students they get these credentials this will help them with employment right after high school so that's a big focus in our program wanted to share that with you Mr kich members of the board that we're not just focusing on

improving our program but how they can help us with the letter grade at the high school level so that being said we're on the third uh the third part really want to share this with you we're very proud we're proud of all all of our presentations here because it's a team effort but uh for this next effort uh before I go through this slide I'd like to call our facilities and operations team members they're all in the back they're very humble but can can you have can I have you guys all come up here to the front please we have Mr Jose yon Mr Daniel cotton we have Andrew Angel Axel Gonzalez Elis s Esther Carlos Sora come up to the front uh all too often they don't get enough attention so you guys can

either wherever you want to behind the table or however you want to do it but so that everybody can see you and Angeline can we go through we have a scissor lift for the first time we through our capital budget we have a scissor lift here on our campus it's ours it's nobody else's uh if you go to the next slide please I wanted to share this here this's a little video it shows our Rafters all been cleaned and dusted we have about five or six new lights so for many of you have come to the basketball games you'll see the rafters are dusted the we have five or six new lights our our bleachers have been polished um our floor's been waxed we have two new scoreboards that we purchased from our capital budget

uh there you see the finished product there all these guys worked over the holidays uh to get it waxed look how shiny it is to really uh help our our gym stand out even more there are the new scoreboards that we purchased uh we two of them brand new it had been a number of years from from when we last had some some uh scoreboards in the gym and uh just to show The Pride again you see our our Red Raiders it sends a real powerful message I believe whenever visitors come in um if I remember correctly Dr sholz our basketball team was the boys were unbeaten this year were they undefeated here at home or did they have home undefeated undefeated so you know trying to just and it's really nice this is another

video just to show our our Partnerships um we put these up in the the gym just to show the community um the Partnerships throughout AO uh that we we have worked to establish fire department why not store border patrol uh the AO store the AL Lodge National Bank uh tabletop and that music is actually uh Freeport and olsson's Marketplace that's actually we have like a little little band getting started here in AO we have three three bass players a guitarist and there's the the new flag I want to thank Jose for getting us that flag but um all these gentlemen here in front of us and and and and lady and Miss EST did all this work the rafters the new lights the scoreboards the scissor lift um the banners they did the work so

I really want to make sure that that we we we we see them here and we give them our show them our appreciation uh thank you all of you guys for all [Applause] [Music] the so like I mentioned um Jose got that flag for us uh Daniel was instrumental in the scissorlift they all worked on on waxing on everything uh the boys and girls locker rooms are painted uh they're mopped every day before shower power room floors and all four locker rooms have all been waxed we have two uh uh 90 I believe two 90 gallon right Jose 90 gallon hot water heaters so the whole gym has hot water so that's a big plus and we just wanted to share that with you uh Mr kich members of the board and the entire AO

community and um thank you guys I'll let you guys I know they got you're welcome to stay guys welcome to stay but um or if you want to go home and make some uh some dinner for Dr shot ton I bring it tomorrow take it but they they deserve the credit they do a lot of hard work and you see them every day so we wanted to make sure and recognize them here today um the fourth part of the report Mr kerich is is arguably uh uh you know uh you always hear that term Save The Best For Last and I asked Angelina our our resident historian when's the last time we've had any kind of state championship of any kind and she told me the mid90s 95 96 so uh that being said our

achievements and Milestones last week I got an email from Dr Salter about choosing another superintendent student of the month it made me pause for a moment and wonder what does it mean or what does it take to be one how do I assess my kids and consider him or her as that student when you are in a classroom you will see the different capabilities and abilities with this with the students but there will always be this one student who stands out among them who motivates and fuels You by their by just by their bright smile and great energy to always say yes to any activity and Kenra is the best epitome of that Kenra really loves to learn she's genuinely interested about so many things and is excited to be really good at reading because

she wants to read books to her family Ken has his strong desire to complete her work to the best of her ability she feels confident in accomplishing her goals and navigate the challenges she faces Kenra is a student who loves to tell everything that pops to her mind first in the morning you will know everything that has happened to her stories that has happened days ago and even stories that has happened to her family members so there there's a a great story about this one so I don't know if it's okay to share right she suddenly told me that her mom was pregnant but first she said it's a it's a secret but then then I asked her does is your mom in the hospital and she said but that was supposedly a secret so

yeah accidentally I knew that her mom was pregnant Congratulations by the way um she is a great helper of the class even in words she likes to M motivate her friends by saying that everything will be all right she's one of the students who can make teachers feel that what they're doing is really making a difference and that is why I chose Kenra Jana ker as the superintendent student of the month as her teacher I hope that she will continue to shine and soar High congratulations KRA I'm proud proud to give this award to [Applause] you thank [Music] Mr K members of the board we have first gr now miss AIA Miss AIA good evening everyone it's kind of long so try to okay um today I have the honor of recognizing my student of

example for his fears to follow not to mention he is incredibly intelligent and competent he competes with Integrity always striving to do the best of his ability while also app uplifting and supporting others capacity which I believe part of his identity even in moments of competition he always shows appreciation offering encouragement and Applause to other celebration Emanuel Jo today it's our turn to applaud you your dedication and kindness and humility make you a true role model for our school Community congratulations on being named student of the month you have earned this recognition and we are proud to celebrate your accomplishment oh it's Miss Mercy turn and look [Applause] next we have Mr K members of The Board second grade teacher Miss aelio missio good evening everyone I am thrilled to introduce a remarkable second grader

who has gone above and beyond in their Learning Journey over the past few months this month's recipient truly embod the spirit of a true Red Raider I chose her because she's one of the kindest and incredibly hard worker she never sharks his responsibilities and she always goes at above and beyond what's expected of her in class she's of fantastic role model for her peers she always followed the rules and wait for her turns to speak and she is always happy to Le a hand to anyone who needs it she's truly someone to be admired she's always out for a challenge and she never gives up no matter how difficult things may seem in addition to her perseverance she's also incredibly kind and treats everyone with the same level of respect she's g a strong sense

of moral too she always know the right thing to do and isn't afraid to speak up when she says something that not right and even when things don't go her way she able to accept the the consequences of her actions and move forward with Grace and dignity all these qualities make her an amazing role model for her peers and she always encouraged others to up with integrity and to do their best I have no doubt that she's going to achieve great things in the future and despite all her accomplishments she never seems to let it go to her head she's always humble and gracious I am privileged to introduce to you our student of the month from second grade andon Isa Temperance Clark congratulations to this attended [Applause] student [Applause] [Music] all right thank you

bades they were talking about this all day today in professional development guys the floor is yours to share with our board members in AO Community our dll's uh information [Music] minut okay so good evening everyone I am uh jinle bagares I am the kindergarten teacher so today I will present the deos assessment result for middle of the year but with this one I will compare the results from beginning of the year just like what our leader our team leader Miss uh Ena present to presented to you last um year so we have here the comparison of the results that we have from beginning of the year and and middle of the year so the number one here we have from kindergarten the number one there is uh the the results for uh beginning of the

year so as you can see red is for well below Benchmark yellow is for below Benchmark green is for at Benchmark and blue is for above Benchmark so our goal there is for our students to be at Benchmark or to be above Benchmark so uh in the beginning of the year for kindergarten we have nine students who are at the low Benchmark but now in middle of the year as you can see we have um six students who stay the same who stayed at well below Benchmark but we have one student who went to uh well below and we have two students who are already at Benchmark so they've met our goal and for the below Benchmark the two students there which are yellow went to Benchmark and above Benchmark so again uh we have

I think we have at least three students now oh no no four students one two three four F uh four students who are already who met our goal who are already at Benchmark and above Benchmark so we have um seven students who are at Benchmark who stay the same at Benchmark and also we have four students who are already above Benchmark so that's for kindergarten so for grade one as you can see we have 11 students uh at the at the beginning of the year who are at 12 below Benchmark but but for the middle of the year we have six students who went to who went from well below to below Benchmark and from the students who are at well below at the beginning of this at the beginning of the year they're all

in at Benchmark now so so as you can see they're all in green so we have seven students went from well below to at Benchmark and now we have a two students who are still at Benchmark and the other one who went to above Benchmark and five students who are still above Benchmark so again that's for kindergarten and for first grade for our second grade students at the beginning of the year we only have three students who are um at well below Benchmark but now in the middle of the year two two of them has succeeded in going to well below Benchmark and at Benchmark for our six students uh who are well below Benchmark at the beginning of the school year the other one was it one yeah one student who went to well

below Benchmark um four students who stayed well below I mean below Benchmark and then one student went to uh at benchmark who or who have met a goal and then we have eight students who remained at Benchmark and we have five students who are at above Benchmark and lastly for third I mean one student who have above who is above Benchmark and lastly for third grade students so at the beginning of the school year they have 14 students who are well below but now in the middle of the school year we have four students who are well below I mean below at below Benchmark and one student who went to uh Benchmark so uh for the four students who are at Bel low Benchmark at the beginning of this school year one student went to

um well below Benchmark we have one student who stayed this same one student who went to uh Benchmark and one student who went to above Benchmark and we have four students who stayed at Benchmark and we have five students who stayed at above Benchmark so as you can see we have here the total of students from the beginning of the school year so from fir uh kindergarten to third grade we have 37 students who were well who are at the low well below Benchmark but now we have only 20 students we have 12 students who progress from well below to below Benchmark and we have four students who progress to uh at Benchmark so we also have 19 students uh from kinder to third grade who were at the low Benchmark two students who went

to who who went to um well below Benchmark five students stayed at um below Benchmark 10 students who went who are already at Benchmark and two students who are already above Benchmark so we have here 17 students at the beginning of this school year who are already at Benchmark one went well one went below 12 stayed the same and four went to above Benchmark and lastly for the 15 students we have from kindergarten to third grade who are already at bench at above Benchmark at the beginning of the school year two of them went to Benchmark which is the green one but 13 of them who were still at the above Benchmark so just to give you a picture a bigger picture picture of our students here we we have El students from kindergarten to

third grade so for kindergarten we have three out of 21 students we have 10 out of 31 students for second grade we have six out of 24 students and for third grade they have 11 El students out of 28 students so as you can see uh uh the results May Vary because we have a lot of students who are e learners but for our plans what have we been doing from beginning of the school year to middle of the middle of the year so we have here number one we have gear two we have gear three and we also have after after school tutorials so tier two is where we we do our guided reading so we use uh fly leaf publishing so we have decodable books so during our centers we guide the students

in reading but we don't uh direct them just in Reading we uh Supply that by giving them the letters at first and the site words that are found in those decodable books so that that is why we call it guided reading because um we are trying to supplement those students who are at below and well below Benchmark to just stay at tier two but they will not go to tier three which is our intervention so our intervention is where our most of our at risk students so uh at year three uh the students who are already at Benchmark and at above Benchmark we just give them um enrichments so we give them we give them works that would help them uh learn more and for the students who are at risk that is where we

give um reviews to them so so like we try to give them works that is that will help them grow more and we also have here fore number three we have after school tutorial so so we have contacted parents that the students who are at risk will uh join our after school uh tutorials so our plan after uh Gathering all these uh data um number one uh we will reach out to the P to the families of the students who are at risk so we will send resources from DBL so we have um we have resources from DBL that parents could do or could um work with their kids at home so that they will be able to know the things that they needed help with and so so the resources will help the parents

in uh learning with their kids number three we also have progress monitoring so this is also with dbls we can uh see the progress of each kid so we do progress um monitoring every uh twice a week right every two week every two weeks okay I think that's it for the so if you have I will just show yeah because that one's a little different from what we have on our screen you've got is just that it's a little different some of the numbers are off on ours really yes so they're a little different I don't know if this one's an updated one but yeah they're slightly off um yeah maybe maybe there is some dat added it looks like this one's added yeah this one looks like a newer version in and upload so

um I see the composite scores do you have data like um the least amount of progress done from beginning of the year to middle and then maybe the most progress we've made in which area for area per area do you have that we have talked about this one and we have realized that uh word reading accuracy is our strength for our students in kindergarten to third grade and the weakness is pmic awareness so your nonsense words yeah did you which one did you guys see the most progress in word reading accuracy and uh nonsense words influency influency you have data I that one yeah that will show we can we can provide aop I can scan yeah I like that yeah yeah just so I can see like a breakdown cuz yeah I'm just interested

to see where we're um showing a deficit and where where our intervention really needs to be and then where our strongest uh progress is being made I didn't bring my copy so I can I don't know if you have a lot of time you know if you yeah even if you just send it we're just talking you just want to send it over or we next Mon it's broken down per skill and then you can see the red which one has the least red is a strength but the longest red is a weakness right and we talked about that earlier and it she show progress from beginning of the year to middle and where you've seen the most growth in which area for each skill set let me look if um if we have that

report available this is just for this um the middle of the year that one is comparing beginning of and it'll show progress and growth yeah growth in each skill set one that we have is I think for just yeah this one is middle of the year I'm not sure if I can compare I'll try Okay and then which gemic awareness um program do you guys use most of the student using the M plus Intervention which is linked to disil and so it's so for example if the focus for this child because they do it during the last hour of a school day where they do the which should just address and if like they're focusing one skill at a time right so it's M plus intervention the activity is through there and then every so

so it's the lesson plan is I think good for 10 days remember right and at the end of that that's when they do the progress monitor isn't that the same program you use on no it's different this is just yeah what's good about it is it's linking whatever is being assessed is the focus of the intervention they're they go hand in hand right so what do you do when you have parents that don't speak English and you have to send home interventions oh what's good about DBL is that they have English and Spanish translation so if we know that the the parents of those kids can't uh speak English or they can't read English so we have a Spanish translation for it I think a lot of the classrooms and stuff like that have Spanish

translation right use Google Classroom to like contact parents they have the translations available they do but this um M plus has a Spanish version even the the resources is the Spanish version it is a little hard though because a lot of theic awareness activities you have to pronounce certain letters and the sounds that go with them and I'm sure in Spanish some of them can be different but you I mean so there's only so much you can rely on um home support I guess in that aspect if they're non- English speakers so it really take the job of the teacher you know makes it harder and that's why they we have online programs to that is also L and we can you know the teacher can change the settings to Spanish so instruction is in
