[Music] discussion of personnel items [Music] we've also hired her husband her husband would be a special ed teacher here uh we'll be having her in middle school social classes organization and we hire the you until you know what we're going to do okay the next personnel is the employment of another teacher maria fernandez interviewed very very well uh and she will be uh placed in five six uh combination program at this time some some um staffing parents make items may change depending upon availability teachers or someone leaves here after and that pretends always happen um we have we're going to recommend the hiring of a teacher named christian gonzalez for music he's a vocalist we've considered four four music teachers this year none of them had significant amount of instrumental but they're all vocalists that
will not be an issue in my opinion for k-k-a or k-6 at least and some some high school kids and some high schools are obviously successful with choral programs that'll be a little bit different it'll be a choral program but at least we have music um the next boss those are the hirings um we'll have one on the agenda for um the one we interviewed uh last week that was three of women ria fernandez should be on there yes and so uh that wasn't posted uh for tonight i'm so glad we're not going to be we have 24 hours for action on wednesday night she is an experienced teacher she's from the philippines she taught for seven years in the philippines and she's been in australia for the last 13 years so her accent's intriguing
he's got a hint of both cultures and very experienced she's a college professor at one time has three master's degrees very very well um dr truboltz is not here to address the next items next item is extended employment of mercy airing and mr babu casey their contract ran out on friday they had five days before and after their teaching contract but this this school year they did a lot a lot of times studying and that's sort of dr jabul so there's things that didn't get accomplished what he wants to do is work with mr casey and mercy on looking at student data and going back to more data driven decision making and we haven't had time to do that with the short time they had last week plus uh time summing they they fell behind
because of that so i'm recommending another five days and not necessarily all five days maybe five days somehow between now and the start of their new year uh the next item on under personnel this is a very similar approval of additional workdays from library staff dr uh connolly and ms leon her her prayer pro um i'd like to bring him in she was going to report to work july 1 uh she being dr connolly i'd like to bring them in the 13th um dr jim boltz is going to use some rearranging classrooms classroom 22 is at the end of wing 3 on the north side that we want to put closer groupings of students by my grade that room right now is like an overflow room for library materials and so dr conley needs to
work on that plus she's been leading the library and as a young principal i encountered that with one of my life friends and i said what's all these books they're all in good shape when you look at someone who hadn't been checked out for 20 years sort of taking space so she getting rid of books uh she maybe dr colleen is giving her books that are not um have not been used for 20 years or 10 years or more and just taking up space and some of them are just deteriorating so she needs to pull those books and enter them into a take them off the inventory so we can approve and discard those books so that's very timeless and she wants some extra time for that plus she taught classes since the april 4th
that vacancy she's been teaching classes half the day so she hasn't been able to at least have that she hasn't been able to do some of the library work she'd like so i recommend her to come back the next personnel item is the employment of four prayer pros uh to work with june summer school which is sammy hernandez mrs debbie house miss raphael durant and miss sherry simpson they'll only work if they're they're one-on-one paraphrase for special education if their if their student doesn't show up they won't work but if they show up and want to have them prepared to help those kids out in the cases of all four of those people the students they're working with are fairly severe fairly high on the spectrum and so it would benefit them to have um
the next personnel i have is extra pay positions these these are hiring coaches hiring this whole categories hiring coaches hiring class sponsors so on and so forth and we're asking to approve charlie beer kelly erin khan as inspect director marichu has resigned she's going to unified school district so that should be two million dollars i'm sorry yes and charlie you're right not sure thank you um and sherry is going to be teaching special ed also she was involved in starting special education program in her last school in the philippines i was very nervous we've got some good candidates good we thank good special ed teachers but all three were going to be brand new to school and to make one of those the director's special ed made me real nervous so i was relieved a
little bit of pressure from dr boltz and i to be honest with you to talk her into doing this and so she's going to be teaching special ed and doing the director just like merits who did uh jose diaz in york pardon me he's a young man has impressed me in the last few years he has been asked to be english language director roughly i hope i'm pretty accurate here of our ell student of our students that hispanic students about 100 those students qualify for ell support at one time in our state we can teach kids bilingually you could teach them the concept in their language a law was passed in about 2009 2000 doesn't allow that so we have to teach students in english we can explain in their native language we can't teach
it directly and then what's frustrating for those young people is typically within a year they're tested in english and i tell people to be like saying germany to be tested in advanced physics they have two problems advanced physics and the language but um mr mia senor is a second language learner he's got a good rapport with kids so we think he'll be he'll be a strong one there we have another another extra position as basketball coach and basketball coach doug sing mr sane has been hired by the board previously to be a uh secondary um i think he was language teacher his wife is the art teacher they've moved here already from [ __ ] guy um he was a teacher at yonkers high school last in buckeye he came in last week and i talked for
probably an hour um i like his belief system might i may come back and tell dr sotero that i may come back and walk around once a month i think we have some good people coming in i'd like to see them work i think he'll be good and that concludes personnel okay the next item is discussion of business [Music] ideas um so we want to ensure that we propose the highest budget and get our taxes calculated so we should make sure in july [Music] um um [Music] our tax um are correct for next year um the reports that i have let them off so that we have all the backlash events um here [Music] is and then this year our calculation is going to be lower which is always the population [Music] and so the
downstream the main thing i want to point out tonight that this tax rate has fallen down um nine sixty one and the employee twenty three plus is two point one percent higher at three million seven hundred thirty two dollars one hundred seven thirty two thousand one hundred forty one so this is the main revision that that extra budget capacity was placed in the classroom dollars for southeastern government so [Music] um [Music] [Applause] get much more [Music] is [Music] um [Music] uh do you have any particular points uh i was giving folks a chance to look over things to see if they had anything sure [Music] thank you very much well hold on for a little while before coming up later on yes oh you're not off the hook yet okay this is the same document
with some very slight changes that were approved by the board last year and i hope uh simply involves changing dates at the bottom of page two um we clarified the blackout days they're in both both agreements that's something that uh the first two weeks ago the last two weeks of school policy on the section i'm sorry on the third page holidays we had a thanksgiving break thanksgiving the last this the year we're finishing and come following year including wednesday uh people have to travel we did this in my former district we did here when i first came we got away from it but um people asked about last year's have been put in so there's three days wednesday thursday friday it's like this thanksgiving break on page three that's addressed page four there's no changes
page five item i under eight is leave days i says to use fmla this is straight from fmla employment's been employed at least 12 months and we're at 1250 hours for the district fml flyer is located back in the agreement so when in doubt you read the document then down to number 10 we change the title or add to the title maturity and return maternity and turn you leave we had i mentioned the fact again this is recognized at the end of the uh in the handbook uh with the fmla the last line of maternity and fraternity leave no exceptions about fraternity show conflict with family medical leave actually added part-time fml a part-time employee fmla is referenced in the fmla flyer at the end of the agreement then on page six one change after
leave item 14 item c um you talk about par for vacation leave the changes in the must be approved by the employee supervisor that could be maintenance food or principal however in my office i have classified employees i get approved or disapproved we like to have the changes made in the week before the day for someone to call in the day it happens when it could have been sometimes seven there are no changes uh page eight no changes page nine no changes and page ten there's no changes so yes no i'm sorry this is once you want me to join it's effective i'm sorry on page 10 on page 10 put in dates july 1 through june 30th page 8. there's just one word that looks like the word schedule was agreeing are you ready
thank you uh paid 19 mr hopkins frankfurt class compared to parapro's workday scheduled to be considered perspective week's program what we mean by that sometimes a head start i said start preschool may have some different needs because they don't have children on friday or if a child is um needs a one-on-one parapro sometimes they do some different arranging for them so most parapros reportedly 15 but sometimes if child schedules different we may change their schedules we just want them to be aware of anybody have any questions about them so i would like to see two changes made before we ratify it one on page four it says requires uh sorry section eight weekdays d if an employee has an injury or illness our environment missed more than two plus consecutive days of work i to
strike and just make it three well just more than two more than two because yeah two plus is the same thing so you strike the classes is in the classified in the certified agreement we struck the 60 days so section a maternity leave 60 days after the birth of a child employees should be expected to return to work i'd like to see that sentence struck so it is in accordance with fmla and also is the same as okay so now we're on to the cheek heads as you recall is an umbrella district for 12 districts within a county aho voters approved of that in about 2006 2007 in fact we had a very good response in supporting that we have our program has changed significantly because the program tends to be communicating the teaching jj
we have several teachers to do that now but to do jt you have a iga international agreement with another governmental agency which is the joint technical education district which is the deaf district in tucson and our attorney already takes a look at it and he's approved an agreement for the the j-ted and the iga with the dj so we recommend approval about this um the best you know a really strong program we've had for dual enormous with i had like one of the vice presidents years ago um at least nine credit hours of college um grand canyon college has been involved i frankly they haven't talked to me so i don't know what they're approving the visit the intergovernmental agreement with we haven't seen one from grand canyon college so grand canyon they're not a
governmental agency they're a private university but we don't know what we want to push we uh lance wants to push um a community but we can't do that without any government agreement so they had sent us the government government reviews and again ben looked at this and proved it so he said so we we're thinking lance is saying if we approve this and we can have someone work with the district as well as um the vice president did a few years ago we might be able to provide another dual education opportunity which we would like to do if we have i think seven students enrolled in tucson the same class when that vice president was above our kids didn't get charged one class we had to pay for we didn't even share it typically they
took speech classes they took english sometimes english class things that it's necessary for an aaa degree or for moving on to bachelor's degree and the speech class have been elected for some other classes from this camp we have the equipment um about a year before we did this that's in capital money and i'd seen um another school of rural schools in the state do this with a nearby community college so i bought the equipment fantasizing about doing this and it's about 50 larger than that screen combined with a split screen so the students can see their class and the professor the pima community um i was over there for a meeting one day and i i knew when the class has been a few so i went by the west peter county campus and so
i was in the lab where that was being taught there and like your kids say oh they're good so i can see my kids our kids and they can see me but it works out pretty good so because you can see the person and i think this is long before we did a lot of the online learning that we're doing now but when the kids can see a person and hear a person uh get direct questions they seem to be pretty attentive and i'd like to see that confused i'm glad she can't they hadn't really been until they reached out to me at the learning center about partnering with the ged program but now this since i started working with them i've had multiple people in town asking about what are the chances of penis
setting up some sort of small cell life and i said i would love it especially if you do like health care classes because they need to train health care givers in town and that would be the the administrator that broke the ice for us years ago is now the president of a community college who could carry new mexico i wouldn't need tucson for junior kerry but he's happy i talked to him maybe once a year and in fact his wife was a professor she was the first one that came out and our kids because their program starts three weeks after ours so our kids all signed up ready to rock and roll then the longer the way the more they kind of got nervous about it so i talked to him about it and he
sent beth and she met with the kids personally she was really an apple lady and the kids felt comfortable and they were very successful i watched them in class and i happened to be able to see them over there so i was you know [Music] what you were talking about when i was talking to jeff peck the other day and we had a conference on aging and part of that they were talking to pima community college about healthcare a home health care providers and they went for a grant and they got that grant took like a year so they haven't been they have positions open for seven students the only bad part about it is it's going to be in cells but it includes the educational part of and lodging wow you might be the
perfect person to get a little judge packing and you might have people that that are interested in doing that thank you my next business item we have and there's a rumor that you're going to change superintendents this year and i'm a signer on the checking account and so is dr jakols and so is venus galrani if if i leave and i'm not a sign after june the 30th it's going to potentially put the district between a rock and a hard place so we're asking we need to have board approval to have the bank accept this and uh recommending dr zotero's name that list will be proving dr zotero and dr jabalts and bien scalarani and for and they'll get signing cards and so on and so forth and thanks so we should be ready to
go and that's yes the book and the this information from this is the odd book that bill bridge puts out and the two of the documents we keep on file i've gone for 20 years in my office we had a preview documents i recall whenever you're ready laura [Music] [Applause] [Music] which can never tie to any district records and the reason why is the auditor takes a full fiscal year expenditures in the drama line on june 30th at the end of the so any money we received after that time like reimbursements for grants or j-10 or any bills we paid after june 30th which is still legal because the year so if you look at these pictures in this book and try and tie it to any report that they have provided you they will
never match up this section here [Music] the terms that they use later every year the auditor general puts out what's called the uniform system of financial records compliance questionnaire it's actually called the usfr i've heard people thought it was [Music] [Applause] and basically what this is is what the auditor tested it for and they always find things we are not proceeding and we set up all the coupons the and said there's always mistakes so we have our draft audit given to us on april 22nd and it had 16 items and one spending and i think i argued about 20 45 percent of those away because because it just takes research and every the most important one to the governing board and to me is to look at the single audit report so if you all
have one um [Music] uh [Applause] last [Music] um [Music] foreign can i say a couple things laura um this this is this the audit guides half of what half the decisions we make in a district office and it's different than one of us dealing with our own personal banking accounts we make a mistake there we pay for it but when we're talking about taxpayers dollars and members of this community and across the state with equalization funding it's a big deal and so i imagine sometimes staff see us being a little cranky because we have to use the word no more than we'd like to but we have to follow usfr universal system and finance and i see internal internal controls and if we don't then we get one of these findings like laura mentioned and
looks bad lately i've received emails from attorney general's the auditor general's office on two districts i know up in state and one of them is in yellow pike county and one's in i believe pima county and their terrible findings either went from mistakes or in one place it was corrupt operation where a business manager and a superintendent were trying to make more money and we're not smarter than auditors about money and so in both cases they were caught and it's embarrassing and those type of auto reports go to every board member probably at least every superintendent of state and one does not want to have that as a part of their reputation so i appreciate the fact that leanne did a good job laura followed up um venus galirani can get really intense about finance
but she knows what she's talking about she's paralegal and so she follows the legal letter to the to t so that's one of the reasons we've got a good daughter it's the best one we've had for a long time so i appreciate it thank you laura thank you laura okay now the next thing we have is a report on upcoming professional development and elaborated for dr satira moving targets already um well first of all thank you for giving me this opportunity mr hopkins and honorable members of the board i just want to give you a brief overview if you have a hard copy to pass out and so um what i'll do first is i'll just ask angelina to go to uh to the first handout um regarding the conference that the sessions that i'll
be attending this friday and saturday it's part of a uh it was first contacted by dr mark orangevad the executive director um any uh regarding arizona school administrators and this is this is a a very critical opportunity where uh all the new superintendents in arizona are taking part in this it's called the aspiring superintendence academy for latino and latina leaders and so what it's going to be is pretty much it's a year-long cohort and outside of this first session on a monthly basis will be a zoom session the chord will take place via zoom 3 30 to 5 30 starting in in in july august so that's good in the sense that i'll be here at the district i will not have to leave but this first session is going to be a very intense
uh june 10th this friday from 8 to 4 and saturday june 11th from 8 to 2. i gave you a little a brief uh synopsis of what where it's going to be taking place at west point high school the tulsa union high school district and so uh some of the benefits for that they're going to assign a mentor which i think is great it will be my first experience as superintendent and so it's always good to have someone who's been in your shoes i've been fortunate to have been talking with dr julie last week but this is going to be ongoing throughout the year and so it's going to be either a latino or latina superintendent from arizona i don't know who my mentor is yet and so this is someone who i can call
on throughout the year on anything and everything after listening to regarding the audit reports and everything it's going to be good to have someone to just kind of pick their brain and and taking what that what they share with me that over time did all of my own style so that's going to be very very very positive um if we can go this is what i'm really excited about is there's going to be two instructors current superintendent this is dr gladys cruz she's she is from upstate new york so she'll be also doing one of the co-instructors the other co-instructor is close by she's about an hour and a half away i'm going to beat the high tower elementary school district so it's going to be good not to just have a mentor but this
is someone that who is just an hour to an hour and a half away so if there's any other professional job that i'm taking place not just this one but what i'll talk about next she's close enough to where to talk to or also meet with in person and so she's going to be giving also one of the instructors a little a little bit of background with dr hightower she's in the grand canyon university board past president of the arizona association for latino administrators and superintendents past executive committee member of the american association of school administrators and also a president of the arizona school administrator so it's good as as i remember as a new principal i had good mentors um also in my experience with add i had good mentors this is critical i
really believe that and sharing that with uh with dr dooley um this is what you're not going to get in the research i mean just real intense in life conversations with current practitioners who have searched the top of their their profession and so some of the topics of the course focus for this thursday and friday is going to be intense i mean they have signed us homework uh also a readings of a book that we're going to be assigned a book called um the uh the power of latino leadership so there you guys can see on the screen are a few of the chapters we're going to be reading as we get started but the topics include why we wanted to become a superintendent what will be our unique contributions as latino leaders the personal
values and qualities that qualify for us as superintendent and professional growth objective so this is this is serious business and i'm glad because it's gonna challenge us to be ready to be prepared and so the next uh professional development opportunity i wanted to share with you and and i can't reiterate enough i am very grateful for the support of the board for for giving me this opportunity because it's going to help me do better which in a sense is going to help us do better which in a sense is going to benefit staff students and the entire school community and so that's always a plus this is from grand canyon university in partnership once again with the arizona school administrators and the arizona department of education it's called the superintendent's collaborative network and the we're
going to have not meet monthly but they're going to be four quarterly sessions we'll meet in person and so the uh the leader in in the sense of this program is is dr john marissi he is a retired superintendent from scottsdale unified school district and he reached out to me a few weeks after the appointment may 11th and he gave me a heads up about this program and one of his staff members got in contact with me this is also going to be very intense but once again i can't stress this enough we'll also be assigned a mentor for this program so it's a mentor a latino latina mentor from the aspiring superintendents academy for latino leaders but also a mentor from the superintendent's collaborative i'm looking forward to it i'm going to take in
the perspective the guidance but like i said as time goes by develop my own on what fits best for our district for us as a lord and superintendent and student staff and school community i highlighted some of the key uh key topics uh planning the first 100 days positive board relations and communication leading and retaining exceptional educators which you heard that topic discussed earlier from dr dooley uh communicating with both internal and external communities something else that's very critical of esser funding plans we have esther funding until september 30th 2024 so this is this is a front burner issue and this is going to be a topic of discussion in the carter meetings uh in addition exceptional customer service i really hope that very uh that's been very important to me and my experiences as
a school administrator it all starts with us in the front office the first perception that the communities have of the school school district is when they come to that front office myself our office staff everybody so that's very critical and that drives a lot of the perception becomes around well we all realize that so bridging the technology divides so this is very critical as well i really like as far as the uh the last sentence they're talking about a collaborative network website via grand canyon university so we'll they will share with us a publication as part of our reading and personal professional library so it's going to be good to see what else is going on just around the state nationwide and how that can be brought and then used in our district so this
is a great opportunity i can't stress this enough one of the sessions will be a virtual so that will be good in the sense of me being near physically not having to leave the district and so great opportunity as you saw earlier the other pd opportunity one of the instructors is intellisense so it's good to have those resources it's good to have this this benefit it's good to have it's gonna be two men for us and so i just wanted to share that with you so you have for your information um any questions or comments from any of the members of the board glad you're going yeah thank you thank you thank you for and that as i come back from each session i'll give you a monthly update to cody so just so we're
on the same page and please uh reach out to me or during the meetings or in distant formal talks about i would love to share with you what's taking place and this is um stephen covey talks about it sharpening or soft this is going to help me continue to shuffle this off because that's how we grow and as les brown talks about it that's how we stretch it back okay next item is the discussion review of the governance team handbook if i could first just point out a couple additions one short section on page nine on parliamentary procedure and then the most significant changes were to the board calendar in the brain started 15. as i said before this is all to change depending on what we what we want to do just i like
governing governor's team handbook everybody uses governing board i mean the ben does this and say uh state um so you know just everyone does and i think there are things throughout the book that should be changed so that we can language so um that's up to us you certainly can change that um the reason why i chose that title um it was more like in the spirit of collaboration because the government investing word is us lead five so that's that's why i presented that way it could change yeah it should and then the other one was on page four uh new board members on boarding um we're not taking a sale and having a champagne or anything wrong no i don't know i don't know what is true that isn't oh isn't the word on
words it could be information for new board members that was one that i felt that was not appropriate and then on page six the last about in the middle of the page when engaging with staff members board members who are also parents or students will make it clear that they are acting as parents rather than board members six okay so that's probably from last month we should have what marsha has is probably from last year that's okay but i don't think um the text of that change so let's see if we can find it it was just not clear to me what is sure you know i'm not saying it it's yeah the whole section is drawn because it's under the site visits section well that's fine if you drop it it's funny and then
also on that page it goes on on behalf of stakeholders the board works to set the vision and establish schools of the district i did go to the uh current dictionary and stakeholders are people who will uh take bets from people and hold the money and i don't think that's what we should be using i think on behalf of community members or something that's most open martial stakeholders is a pretty internationally recognized term i've been at a lot of meetings and stakeholders yes it's used all the time you know stakeholders anybody that has an interest in what you're doing oh you know it's keeping the language used by the arizona department of education where they're going to be lesser three funds so we have to get stakeholder input i know what you're talking about because
it is a current dictionary in the same way those two people are invested in the district then i think we should have a community and some debt but something that says that that's what we need to worship but i'm more than willing to hold the money yeah i don't know the rest of the point might not agree near the top um yep right you got it okay if a board member observes members board members who are also parents of students will make it clear that they are acting as parents is that the same wording yes is it not clear so to me it's one of those things that you would you would hope wouldn't need to be said yeah at the same time you don't want the teacher to think oh they've got i've got
the board with a president of the primary teachers for a long time and the minute they they knew i was on the board they panicked if i went in and worked in their room and everything they it took you i'm not even mentioning more just working with the kids they finally changed and accepted me but i think any time a board member goes in you're going to get those feelings whether you're a parent and this is a an attempt to address that in the specific circumstance of a parent who is also a board member and i find myself that this actually was taken from nikki whaley's notes from the from the training we had but i find myself as a parent people remember in that situation often where i i come to address something and
they do they didn't i have to make clear that i'm working in capacity right now as a parent i'm here approaching you as a parent and not as a board member um so i do think that's important um and helpful to new people did that when i talked to her about moving some logs for me because i'm not asking myself right now you could be expanded when yeah i mean i think you're right as well that it's hard for people to separate oh yeah it's you know it's very it's kind of like if a police officer pulls you on the road to give you friendly advice you're still thinking these options pull me over and you're intense about it but that's to me why it's valuable to have it in there so that okay board
movers are at least aware of that have the prior knowledge that they might need to diffuse that it just gives the idea that the parents are the only ones who get the staff nervous yeah i mean everyone that goes gets the stats i know it's a teacher's shaking did you i know these teachers up there can tell so much so altered just a little bit to be more inclusive okay and then i went on to page 10 in the organizational chart um [Music] changes [Music] um i thought that the superintendent secretary was put way down below i mean i know the line goes down but i didn't think i until you worked so hard and does so much and then when we get her down the reef is sort of equal to a finance clerk
or whatnot that's not good and i think that uh i would like to see her known as um a superintendent's assistant rather than the secretary that's more that's more contemporary yes it [Applause] is that goes up down or down it goes up traditional ways okay it's at the top yeah all right [Music] sure so the maintenance and transportation director comes out of the director of finance technically in the party districts here it's much more challenging to see that that difference but definitely in large districts so who's the director of finance right now um venus so so we'll say comes under venus i have them both reporting directed at me so i have more parallels this um at that time we did this it's been done 10 or 12 years ago that was basically the director
of finance was uh spencer and so she was the finance person just like laura smith is now and we changed the finance coordinator was uh venus galrani and so we had without an extra step there we have a person finance officer i can't think of what we call her finance clerk so she down there under finance uh coordinator director right now who've been finance directors venus venus still reports she reports she's kind of got a dotted line between who the business manager is and me i basically deal with that on a daily basis and to something more detailed than i uh or if i'm not available she goes straight to the business manager the business manager now orange director finance the way we're doing at that time is the same person i think also if
this was done landscape rather than this that it could be spread out as well and then we'd have more room now but one of the reasons and relaxing one of the reasons we didn't put superintendent secretary up further because uh she doesn't supervise anybody and that's one of the typical things we see on organizational church so if we put her up and we could easily put it between director of finance and principal but she doesn't she would have anybody understood kind of quick made that a little more challenging just to decide yeah but again you're right we did a landscape instead of a vertical excuse me we'd have more more room to play with that well then i went on to page 11 and um so do we need to redo this chart yes so
your page 11 is already 13. okay we had i numbered them one two ten and eleven and um they certainly didn't apply to what we have done for the year um and i thought that was rather humorous but anyways at the bottom and number 11 says remember always that a board member's first and greatest concern must be the educational welfare of the students attending the public school i find that that should be number one not 11. and that is the first thing that should come on the code of ethics [Music] that page is taken directly from our policy that is policy vca um i don't see any actually that is the number one thing and we sometimes forget that that our first thing is for the students and that should be number one and then
move the rest down yeah and then i think that was it pretty much i also question um there are a couple of the ones here that um it like on page 15 and i don't know what page that is what section it's the notes from aspect and i presume that it's not going to be part of the manual or is it remember she's going from recovery marcia can you read a part of the uh down at the bottom where it says additional meeting agreements well it's a different page because she's going to last night this is they came from that's what i said is that going to be on but the thing i objected to is the board secretary because um angelina is not the board secretary she's the administrator so yeah so that came
that's been changed that came directly from the willy's notes um but let me see if again but then it goes future board agenda items request yeah requested agenda items will be tracked by the board secretary and i object to that title yeah if that's been changed okay if i could have a copy [Music] but yeah it sounds like that's actually another stranger sections um one short one parliamentary procedure on page nine green is all new um and and then towards the end the board calendar which i basically took uh dr dewey's board calendar that he gave us a couple months back and combined it with the asba suggested board calendar um and so like i said before this this is subject to you know what we uh you know agreement by the board and the
superintendent what makes makes sense in terms of when things should happen but i just flunked them down where they are where they were in one of those two places so again this isn't something we're voting on monday or wednesday two improvements so a lot of time to look over at this [Music] okay any further discussion on that and i actually i talked to you about something i thought we needed as an informational i don't know winston but i am thinking we um well to get the board the background on it when we hired astro to help with the superintendent search one of the things we paid for was a post-hiring session with them that would help dr saltero and us just kind of proceed with running the district there were two different options that nikki
had presented we have already paid for one of these training sessions we paid for it when we paid doctor comments um she can do them either by zoom in which case there's no additional cost to us or if you wanted her to come here in person maybe dave or travel and most likely an overnight state it's we don't have a date for it i just wanted to throw it out there because i'm thinking wednesday it would be nice to firm up which of the trainings we want and when we can do it so that it doesn't make any sense to do our training you know it makes us do a training early on in dr saltero's stay away so um i was gonna have that i think in order to decide which session and which
date we want for whitney to do a vote even though we're not spending any money one thing to talk about was looking at board members training calendars i think july is pretty cool yeah very open for her but she thinks it will fill up pretty soon because there are so many new superintendents around the stage people bring their agendas for the church alive for example when you're available and when they had the first session um nikki charged mileage which aspa typically knew that but she didn't want to spend the night she want to get back to phoenix of the united states hotel here in town she should have that options yeah i think zoom if zoom works tonight didn't work um that's the first type of craft problem but zoom is much less expensive it's
effective training session so at first i thought it was something we could add onto a board meeting but nobody wants to add a three-hour session so it would be a matter of scheduling a special session i know she's not available thursdays and i said i can't speak for the board i'm not going to set the date based on what works for me i don't want to be the only one that's able to make it i said it would seem to be that mondays or wednesdays since we already have those in the regular meetings would be one where it would be most likely that more board members should be available for it on these nights but like i said i'll bring that up and i'll even bring them right up and let you know what the
two different sessions are on that we would be considering that and if we wanted to we could even decide to do both but like i said that would be paying out of pocket for one of those two sessions because you will be paid for one yesterday and also make sure that they don't um conflict with the two workshops that he's already got going yes yes was it what the superintendent's meetings for pillar county are what thursdays the first thursday of every month who's going to get the chair of the shooters yet so but it would be the only morning legend yes [Music] mr hopkins mr guthrie hi 48. you have a good night
