tonight so that's nice more than two more than usual all right eric would you take your room yes ma'am miss duncan here oh mrs robertson dr dooley here he's here uh may i hear a motion to adopt the agenda mrs robertson hold [Music] one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all visitors are welcome to speak on the gender and non-agenda items comments and women two to three minutes please state your name and address prior to making your comments please note that members of the board may not discuss items that are not specifically identified on the agenda therefore action taken is limited to directing the administration to look into the matter responding to any criticism and scheduling the matter for future consideration any of you want to speak okay right now um does

anyone on the board have a report um just a reminder tomorrow is saturday there's no school for students or staff 11th month 11th hour 11th day world war 1 ended um i i just wanted to remind you more we talked about this a little bit in the study station last night i'm sorry the supreme court um and i'll find the uh this uh item and a senate field with fort leonard ruled on i didn't have the date on monday night on november the 2nd i mentioned it is supporting the uh jeff cooper who um against the law and man mass and uh a few other things goes the way the bill was passed but that was on november 2nd i apologize not having it the other day we've been working with the pima county health

department to have vaccinations for students on our campus we were scheduled to do that i think the 17th has been postponed because they have a shortage of vaccines so we still want to do it make it available to parents and students but we've got to wait till it's vaccine want to reiterate loudly no child will be vaccinated any age during the age of 18 without parent permission we do not do that without parent permission um we had an incident this morning i'll read what i put on what we put on facebook about 10 o'clock today involved there appeared to be a gas leak in the cafeteria i was called over there about 8 15. because an odor in the catheter is seen to be coming from natural gas we notified pima county sheriff's department immediately

literally four officers showed up in less than five minutes the way it works the fire department apparently has devices to help clarify what the smell is but we have to go to the deputies get that they arrived on campus then the volunteer fire department two people mr lopez and mr allen arrived in 20 minutes they turned off all the gas the school cafeteria the fire department staff and deputies directed the staff to empty the head start classroom which is adjacent to the cafeteria as well as the k3 campus we had questions asked why we didn't i told parents why wasn't the high school or the middle school injury because the fire department and the sheriff's department did not see a danger they didn't they did not have to now some of those students went home

to help take care of little children um but that wasn't required by the emergency people a safety parameter was established and masons the buildings would stop until it reflects safe school staff were told to call parents and allowed families to come and pick up students from school that were in head start or in the k-12 programs our gas supplier is southwest gas they arrived on campus about 9 30. um they got here really quickly i was pleased they checked all sources of gas around the cafeteria around that area the smell was coming from one pile of light and a commercial range in the kitchen this is a range that has six burners and we believe we don't know this for a fact with the pile of lightning up because there's a hood fan right above

it an ansel system and a hood fan so it had been emitting gas into the cafeteria kitchen and we got the gentleman from southwest gas he checked every appliance in the kitchen in the cafeteria that used gasoline used natural gas there were no leaks there were no leaks on the unit outside so he determined that it was safe they declared the buildings could be reoccupied approximately 10 15. um the cafeteria staff returned at that time the menu couldn't be done because there was we didn't have time to pay that time but we had several boxes of pizza so the lunch today uh instead of whatever was on the menu became pizza and salad and something else and so um they were still able to provide i was impressed with i was impressed with everybody i

was really pleased that um detective or sron literally he was there in a minute and three other officers including a sergeant arrived less than five uh fire department was there quickly and uh southwest gas was there half hour before they thought they would be and cafeterias hustled and kept things going so it was destructive but uh it was safe we didn't want to take a chance of having any students hurt but i want to reiterate that we follow the direction to the fire department and the sheriff's department for student safety and that concludes my report thank you um may i have a motion to accept the consent agenda i'll do it a second one second mr duncan aye mr guthrie aye ms robertson aye moving on then to personnel we have a certified resignation of

a high school math teacher uh kenneth connects the high school math teacher has submitted his resignation effective november 5th and the administration has approved that mr commence his resignation may i hear a motion to accept mr kamanski's resignation hi all right the next order of business is um the vacant certified position of ambrose lovelace has abandoned his position as a middle school a language english language arts teacher mr lovely did not show up to work and did not participate in parent-teacher conferences from october 13-17 informed mr shivers on monday october 24th that he would not return a minute superintendent recommends that we mr guthrie all right miss duncan aye ms robinson aye mr pearson is also not willing to support zero uh the next is um personnel uh 2021 2022 subject to teachers the administration

employment of the league sanchez as a parapro at the aho school do i hear a motion i will and second second hi mr curtis i mr brother hi mrs robertson hi all right moving on to the business side the first order of business is the miranda memorandum of understanding when the child parent centers head start dr dooley do you want to say a few little this is something that we do annually um child head start is not an envelope program it's a program in a hub it's not a part of the all unified school district they use our campus and they provide service to students that will be in our school every every head start program has a non-profit agency that functions as their support or their supervisors the american counties catholic social services in

pima county's child parent center we received a memorandum of understanding that's between two non-profit governmental agencies quasi governmental agencies about a week ago a week and a half ago i took a look at i thought it would find we always have our attorney proofread that mr hufford our attorney approved it and we sound off our beliefs tomorrow friday friday so i recommend approval that because i'd like to see the program continue for young people in that hedgehog program do i hear a motion uh to approve the yamaha years okay uh the next daughter of business is second reading approval of the governing board policy due to a recent ruling in america maricopa's county superior court judge kathleen catherine cooper that that parts of the house bill 2898 was unconstitutional and void policy services has determined

that districts and charter schools may rescind policy advisory 700 if adopted or if not yet adopted eliminate that this pa from the governing board or governing board consideration although the ruling came from america america maricopa county judge it is legally affected throughout the state and we really don't have to do much about that because we have already got that straightened out at a previous meeting but today we'll be working on g ch professional support staff orientation and training and ibm teaching about controversial sensitive issues may i hear i have a i have a just one comment for our dvd vr and then the two associated uh the only thing to me it looks good makes sense um but if it could read inside any uh district facility at indoor district events instead of the event

we uh oh may i hear a motion to adopt those qualities please still move and all second mr aye mr president i'm mr governor hi miss duncan aye motion passes four to zero and the last order of business is amendment of the asba bylaws by the aspen school board uh the board um to summarize the the board of aspa wants to add an additional seat because now the one seat is shared by the hispanic community for two years and then they switch over and then that the native american does it for two years and then they go back and forth and the black alliance has the seat on the board which just goes along for the whole year so they hope to put in another seat so now that the hispanic [Music] representatives can be

there forever and the native americans can also be there for the time 160 school districts have already answered yes so we just want to do it and they i got another letter from heidi david over last night that she's wondering where our vote is but doesn't have to be until december but i guess they're just anxious to get it going so do i hear a motion that we approve um i'll second it thank you miss harvest mr guthrie hi hi dr julie you're supposed to have a certified person and send them a try wouldn't you hear that all right moving on now we've gone very quickly through everything is there more don't you know the agenda items are there agenda items to be added i would like to pass your december agenda i know we

discussed this in january but the procedures for electing of uh board officers and thank you um when we will do that i mean i want to see an agenda item we can discuss it and approve it and i'll leave it that for now but my last life will either open at that time during that agenda if we come to a decision on that that we can nominate officers in december then they can be decided upon um at the first meeting in january that we have a 30-day window bro good morning to that at that meeting i i have some items to find today we're supposed to receive the paperwork for the evaluation that's the november 10th of every year anything i i haven't been doing that one that's valid i'm looking at a date here

before you messed up and see the phone well yeah making my head a little worse today so we're going to return today and i will add to that that i hope this year people get it in on tandy because that was part of the problem last year and that i know you did mr robertson i did but there were big gaps that people didn't get it in until even the end of january so i asked it so so yeah so the the paperwork i mean i am asking for a meeting eventually yeah right now um and additionally i would like an agenda item on the policies of the ebda and bdb can you say that again i'll show you one a b b a those are the ones about agenda items as well as this
