002Jessica Jessica here we [Applause] go congratulations Jessica stay right there okay our next award is called excellence in in the would write a short paragraph and that was about it but as we went through the school year I saw an increase in the number of paragraphs getting all the way up to a five paragraph essay on their writing prompts they would tell wonderful stories and share those via their excellent writing and took feedback made edits really well in in addition to that wonderful at sharing stories and that is Arya congratulations one more and then I'll turn it over to JJ this next award is most improved in writing this individual would start writing but then ask me for uh how to spell new vocabulary words and do that but then not be done they would

004seat all right congrats to those students all right next I'd like to introduce our English teacher for reading it is Renee sorry I found this picture of you it's a beautiful picture to me please look away start with our youngest our fifth graders this on R RS focused on helping other people there were some ups and downs in their work but almost every single day they came in with a positive attitude remembering RRS RRS I got to work hard I got to get better and this student is Anna really proud of you great work on us all right next up for six grade man this student just had a tough or this was a tough tough choice this student really liked to try to finger spell Advanced words and this student worked super hard to
005finish all of their work work they always did an outstanding job on their assignments came in sat down ready to go and I really appreciated this student this is Robert [Applause] Telles all right now for seventh and eth man I had a hard time both seventh and eighth grade classes are huge so it was really hard to choose this student very often set a great example for their classmates finishing their work in a timely manner a little bit of silly side conversations of course but this student showed marked improvement this year and that is Gavin great job Gavin congratulations all right eighth grade you're last my last year with all of you goodness I put a lot of thought into this there were so many of you who made such Improvement but I was also

007show all their work asking questions if they didn't understand something asking for any support as necessary also this is somebody who completed assignments every assignment they did all of their work on the test this award goes to Arya congratulations AR the next award is more of a rolling up your sleeves being ready to work put in that effort have the desire to do a good class and if they struggled a little bit from time to time they still showed a lot of passion in the classroom so this award goes to Jessica congratulations Jessica the next award emphasizes more on the act of hard work never giving up never being complacent never saying ah I just don't want to do the math if there's a math problem that's too difficult they don't really just you know
008give up on it they just persevere and keep that effort steady where they've already shown Improvement in the whole class this award goes to Jesse congratulations okay my final award I want to recognize this student from the beginning of the school year this person started out very shy was unsure of how they were going to present themselves in math and how they were going to follow my expectations because I set some pretty high expectations but they worked through the math problems and at the beginning they didn't show their work but as I preached and I emphasized to show their work and prove their answers they followed and reached my expectations and made huge improvements over the Year this award goes Tob congratulations just want to let you know that I really enjoyed having all of

010was creative calculator all right this next all right uh we wait more people are arriving okay I I apologize I said the wrong award just now this one was for Creative calculator this next one is the math Explorer this award is called math Explorer and what I mean by that is an individual who's super super curious they want to learn all about math new math skills and they just are so curious about how things work always trying to learn and um always inquisitive and the person I chose for that is Victor all right all right our next award is called the level up learner this award is the leveled up learner this is an individual that I recognized who made consistent Improvement and stayed motivated to learn math U skills math content math differentiation and
011critical thinking in math and started to learn and new math concepts throughout the year and really became great at problem solving in math that person I chose is Lilo is he here or is he's absent okay oh there he is perfect timing lilio come on up congratul UL ation all right the last award is pro participant this award is called Pro participant that is a person who's always willing to attend to new lessons always participates in discussion and throws out ideas and wants to be able to give that answer or help others find that answer super motivated to learn in that and really a joy to have and that student is Lea congratulations all right Pablo wanted me to let you know congratulations wish that he could be here with you but he is he'll
012make it up to [Applause] you all right now we're moving on to science with a gray hello hello everyone my name is a sauka this is how you sign my name and I'm going to talk about science Awards what do we do in science we climb those mountains this first a recipient is a student who worked really really hard to rise to expectations I gave them a lot of hard work and challenged them to continue to climb and man did they ever outstanding achievement in science and they absolutely love science and that is Owen all right our next award is a student who is very curious not in the classroom per se but in the lab anytime we get to go into the lab this student is so eager to learn look through things open
013tools and take a look at how things work and when we gave them um work to create a rocket or to measure a rocket propulsion they were super excited struggled through it couldn't figure it out but finally did figure it out and said tomorrow let me try again and so the next time it didn't work the third day it finally worked and we got that rocket in the air it was incredibly impressive and that student is Brendan okay our next as a creative project scientist and this student Le wanted to learn how to build a car we had a pretty basic design but this student was like heck no I want a more complicated Des design I want this thing to be cool and they wanted to bring it home and work on it at
014home over the weekend so they did that brought it back to school and it was an incredible car and that is Shaden and you made that car really cool Shen and my last award is my potential scientist and I use the word potential because this student hasn't learned a ton of science just yet but they got to come into middle school and start learning science really for the first time what we call the hard sciences and this student was really patient and tried to learn their best and just powered through made moderate improvements and then made a huge leap in Improvement and that student is my potential scientist who I am super and that is Arya AR there she thank you all for your hard work this year in science and all that you learned
015all right you can have a seat all right next we will introduce Jessica for technology Jessica Madson hello everyone my name is Jessica I'm the technology teacher for k12 and I've got two Awards to give out the first one um with my that I have this quarter this I am calling the computer Champion award and I am calling it that because this is a person who's super knowledgeable about computers and will even help me with things that I struggle with on the computer um really does so much and contributes so much to their class and that is Zion Parker all right my second award is called the designer award and this is a student who worked um super hard in the Adobe programs um Adobe Illustrator Photoshop um those are the two primary programs we
016worked on and that student got really good in both of them is able to um really learned all of that on their own and that is Angel congratulations all right good job both of [Music] you all right next we have our PE teachers Scott and Michael is Michael coming okay so we'll just have Scott hello everyone my name is Scott Johnson Michael couldn't be here um he is running our PE classes oh I got to move isn't that better okay sorry about that a little bit awkward here okay I'll say that again my name is Scott Johnson and I am one of the PE teachers this year my first year here Michael is not here right now because he's running one of our PE classes so we had a great discussion and it was a
017really tough decision because um all of you have been in our PE program and we had to just pick four Award winners this first award is the refuse to give up award this student would not quit this student um you know some students come in to PE with no confidence and this kid was struggling a little bit but we gave them a lot of reinforcement um helped them understand the rules sometimes it was a little bit hard and we just all we had to say was you're going to get it you just got to stick with it and as the student learned the rules and started to understand it they started to really love every single game we played in p and that award goes to Alexa good job all right this next up uh
018award is called the all around award in PE by all around I meanone has got great behavior is a hard worker is committed and this individual asked a lot of questions to me to Michael wanted to understand why rules were the way they were for certain games why we moved a certain way for certain skills was super motivated to learn and there wasn't a problem that they wouldn't face and they influenced others in a positive way to participate with them and to play hard and PE and that award it goes TOA am I signing your name right is it this way okay theya still learning everybody's signings bear with me you look shocked Lea we are giving another allaround a work and for M student Michael and I talked about this a lot as well
019because we've got a lot of great students but we had to piig one so this person always showed up on time always had their uniform asked a lot of questions what's where we doing next if we're excited to learn we had to every single week are we going to a new one I want to play basketball I want to play basketball like sorry basketball is not one of our options but this kid who was really fixing it on basketball but didn't let that bother him heed in the other sports with great Behavior great questions understood um our vocabulary lessons for PE participated actively in all of the sports and games that we played and um for the heart challenge I got to say this kid did incredibly on the agility course was our best contributor
020and that award goes to Zion Parker [Applause] all right and my last one is for great effort in PE what I mean by effort is a student who will try anything even if they think it's boring or it's hard they're going to try they're going to um do every single activity we put in front of them and this award goes to lilio great job lilio let's hear it for all of these amazing PE students great job great congratulations next we have at eighth grade transition trans transition to school with Natalie and Mar Soul hello hello hello wonder why Natalie and M Soul are up here we've got some eth graders yeah next year where you going high school we are so excited to have you uh come into high school next year but with eighth
021grade we do monthly workshops do a few events here and there learn about what high school is going to look like and we are so excited for you we are giving out two awards today the first one is called ready to level up in high school this student is ready to go they know exactly um what they want for college all they want to go to RIT they already know what they want to pursue this kiddo is ready and that person is Lea congratulations Lea all right and our next award this is a student who we are calling it the most curious award every month during eth grade workshops they would constantly raise their hand ask a ton of questions we had different kinds of presenters that came in um and high school teachers and

023is to administer State assessments and math testing and this award is for a student who showed exceptional hard work and focus during testing I am super proud to say that this is one of my former preschool students and that student is [Music] Lea congratulations great work you did really really well all right next we have Athletics sports with Jeff hello everyone my name is Jeff and I'm the athletic director here in Middle School sports we always celebrate fall winter and spring Seasons when those seasons are done we get everybody together give out some participants trophies and medals um for different things and have a banquet but this is a unique award for this particular ceremony okay so we have a few different um Awards this one is called Road Runner 3 and what this Awards
024is it recognizes athletes that were involved in three Sports in one year so they did a fall a winter and a Spring sport so we want to recognize those student athletes um with a Road Runner three award so we we've got the names up here when you see your name please come on up and we will give you come on up y let's give a round of applause congratulations to all of these athletes look out here we're going to get a a photo sorry about that great job okay and the next get SE all right the next award is called Road Runner 4 this is for stand light thank you sorry about that um Road Runner four so this is for an athlete who was involved for four years um so for example maybe they
025were a volleyball player through fifth sixth seventh and eighth grade um so they did four years of volleyball so we're recognizing them with that award if it's four years of basketball four years of clock football um four years of soccer um to play four years in one sport in middle school is awesome and so we want to recognize those AES come on up pict congratulations this next award is called the Road Runner 12 this is for a student who played 12 Sports throughout their time in middle school so essentially they played small winter and spring sports for four Street years and 12 recipients are Al and congratulations all right um Road order 12 is a shows huge commitment and dedication lots of persistence in in all of those Sports and they are on the way
026um to be a future Road Runner 24 when they get with high school if they keep it up so um they can earn it all the way up to a road 24 which is just incredible so keep it up all right next up we are going to do Mr and Miss Road Runner oh you said next I'll explain it once they get up here so Mr and Miss Road Runner what these Awards represent are student athletes so they have to be both students and a commitment uh attendance to practice and games um attending to their coaches supporting their teammates being strong leaders and also participating in their academics and doing well in school um supporting their teachers behaving appropriately and then demonstrating R RS no behavior issues um and so we recognize these who have
