We'll move that one for the March meeting. Next item is the athletic presentation. It was also a board request. It will be moved to March meeting to ensure all um board members are present. Number five will be included. Um there's one section on RCA um updates from the governing board request. um they're part of that board report this month, but we also include it as part of the board rem uh board report for the month of March. Um it's in the February, but we'll include it in the month of March as well. >> Which one? >> That one is under five principles
003report. It's embedded in the board report. They're going to present the board report, but the section on RCA, we're going to bring it back. Moving down um we will need to move out of consent agenda, one of the new um hires. Um it is Juan Pablo Diaz. 006seven only the senior trip is going to be pulled out of that number. And I'd also like to request to remove the um vote to convene in into executive session number H and number I >> Yes. >> We got We got the numbers. Yeah. Are you daddy? Um, one thing to mention or make a note of with the um, operation um, Santa Claus, what happened is it was donated to our campus to our ES um, ESS classes. They told us they had enough toys for one or two classes. It turned into our library field. Um so what happened is we extended that um opportunity and bust over thanks to transportation
026um bust over our ESS kiddos from the primary and intermediate campuses and they were able to select the toys of their choice. >> Nice. >> Any questions from the board? >> Miss Hrix? No, I just just to comment on your attendance even I mean you had the 90% for the eighth grade but I think overall >> you went up 1%. So those kiddos Thank you. >> Please help me welcome um our outstanding Marita Mazone principal at our director at Auxiliary School. >> Good evening board members. Good evening um
027superintendent. with us. I uh have the January board report ready. Some highlights that I'd like to mention uh for January. There's a few uh highlights that I'm very proud of. Uh first of all, thank you Miss Ann Cordon and Rick and um behavioral health because again we had successful uh workshops for substance prevention this time around. Last time was the suicide um prevention uh workshop and this time was a substance prevention. Uh then we had our first ever boy all boys um mind body and medicine with Aaron Lopez and it's been um a success baby steps but has been great. Another highlight is that we have eight dually enrolled TOCC students. And um a big highlight that you'll see also on the on the board video is that 25 students got to build and keep
028their own telescope. >> So yes, that was amazing. >> Looking forward, we have another highlight which is planning with um ASU. We're planning career affairs along with um our other schools being part of that as well. And the great finale is Yasa Ortiz. She's our January graduate which you'll also see on the on the board. Uh, one more highlight before I uh for the uh credit courses completed just for January, we had 15 more courses completed by our students just for the month of January. And there's a few more coming up for February as well. There you are. >> Are there any questions or concerns regarding the board report? >> Any questions from the board? >> No. I don't know. Heat. Heat. Good job. And I'd like to um just give a big shout out
029to my teachers who go above and beyond in our support um just to make sure that our students are, you know, making sure that they have everything in place from their ECAP to their CPR to their um every all the requirements to their to um TOCC dual enrollment transcripts, everything in place so that our students can um celebrate and have a that big finale that you saw. So, they're very proud of of our students and our teachers. >> Thank you, Miss Maz. >> Welcome. >> Next, we have item number five of Kver Unified School District Governing Board Members Reports. Um, >> Miss Hendris, >> yeah, I was able to be part of the interview with the accreditation. Um, >> with the accreditation, um, is it on testing their Um, and they had very good questions
030for us in regards to what our role is in regards to making sure, you know, with the school district, uh, financial, um, academics, um, community. Um, I thought those were very insightful uh questions that they had for us and I think both Kathy and I did our best in providing information from the school on what our duties are, what our responsibilities are and ensuring that you know we are um in sight of everything that uh we um want to accomplish for the school district. Um, so I think that um we hope that um everything went well. I I I haven't yet completed uh reading throughout the through the complete report, but I'm hoping that um Ruben will highlight on that tonight. But um Okay. >> Thank you, Miss Hendrickx. Miss L, anything for the board
031report? No. Um, I guess I just want to say I did um attend the senior night at the high school. Um, and um I hadn't gone to a game really. So, it was very exciting. It was. It really was. I also um like Sylvia said um gave my my view on where our district is at and you know all the the work that all of you do to um keep our district moving forward. And so I really appreciate everything that everyone does to make sure that our students are loved and encouraged and motivated and all of that. So thank you everyone. Um those are the only two items that I believe that I had attended or took part in. >> Miss Hendricks. Yeah, I just forgot to mention that I also um attended the senior
032night basketball game. Um and unfortunately that was my first and only game I attended. I was I guess I I was and I did mention it to Ruben and I meant to mention it to him at some point. And I kept forgetting, but because of my situation right now with my being a little handicapped, just where would I sit, you know, because I know it gets us thinking that the bleachers will be all crowded and everything. And so I did mention that to them. So they made a real quick sign for handicap seating. And uh that thank you very much for that. >> Um but yes, and that I have a senior or my grandson who who played on the basketball this season this this season and it was really exciting to see all the
033families there celebrating their seniors as they completed the season as they got close to finishing up the season before the flight before the playoffs. Um that was exciting. So again, thank you um to everyone that are involved, all the coaches, the the teachers, the principles, the administration, and everyone that supports our athletes and ensuring that you know they're they're um passing all their classes obviously, you know, because that is something when I coached was the first and foremost thing that needed to be they need to do just make sure that their their academics were they were doing well in their academics and then sports would be next. So, but and I know a lot of them work hard at accomplishing that for themselves and for their families. Again, thank you. >> Okay, thank you Sylvia.
034Um, next is the um item number six, barbecue reunified school district superintendent report. Take it away, Ruben. Take it away. Oh, you said take it away, Ruben. That's superintendent. And I have um a several of updates from um the superintendent as well from our departments. Uh first I want to give a shout out to our culture teachers um and the intermediate campus um for supporting it at St. Lucy's blessing for the new historical site. Um also a shout out uh to all the principles in the curriculum um instruction for the data presentation during the month of January and it's spending the um the Sunday with us to celebrate the growth and also to let us know the next steps. Also, um I want to give a shout out which I will talk about it more
035during the February um highlights but right now I also want to acknowledge um Miss Cornell, Mr. Dan, Miss Medina, Miss Kinsy, Miss Valdez, Miss Beay, and Miss Onset for being a critical uh component of the uh interview during during the uh accredititation. But most importantly, I want to thank all members um of the district because of the work that they've been doing. Uh during the accredititation, we presented actual artifacts that they've been produced during the last three years. Um and it was not um a pretend show. It was the actual evidence that we presented. Um today we got informed by um Cogna they they want to come back and they want to do a study um a case study in Babok Unified School District um based on the documents review that they had. Um so
036they'll be back um they want to learn more how how did it how did it happen. So um I don't know how what that entails but they'll be coming back. So you'll hear from them soon. Um also uh from curriculum instruction I want to thank their support. They spent 25% during the month of January coaching 36% um providing site support 19% providing a professional development and 80 18% providing admin support. I want to take this time also to acknowledge um and and to the community that we have vacancies. Um we need two grounds persons, one custodian, three maintenance staff. Um and um a shout out to operations. Um out of the 1,333 um work orders, they have completed 1,179. And it's also Ross's birthday, FYI. >> Oh, today he loves the attention. um from the
037um exception exceptional ed um department. um the um a shout out for the professional development and emphasizing um energizing and and and in the secondary transitions for also the Special Olympics um and congratulations to Alise Lopez and Ariana Garcia for the recognition from the Arizona Council for Exceptional Children and we'll be seeing the video next month. So I I'm looking forward to that. Um uh a shout out to transportation. Thank you for submitting the 100 day uh report early um to keeping us on track. Thank you for their support. Um having said that, let's play the video of everything that happened during the month of January through the lens of the superintendent. How we count our syllables. We have three syllables. So that is telling us we have to add more or >> I know
038you're so excited. I agree with Kishana's um response and what they want to talk about. The book that I read was The Little Red Riding Coat. My my reaction was I like this book because the the Little Red Riding Hood went to her to give her grandma some food. But there was a wolf. He he followed her to her grandma's house. Then when riding left, the wolf ate her grandma. Then when the little red riding came back, she saw the wolf dressed up like her again. because of your feeling and doing your work. You lose the privilege to Daddy. Too much. Hey, hey, hey. Be brave. Any questions? >> Any questions from the board? >> Miss Leonard survived her first retreat. Let's give her a shout out for Miss Leonard. She was here on Sunday
039and survived her retreat. Good job. That's number seven is the uh public unified school district chronic absence procedure. members of the board um and community. Um this is a work in progress and this is what we have so far in an effort um to make an attendance a priority and in an effort to bring the community as part of the plan um we've been engaging with HRDC um in in this process and based on a couple of recommendations uh our principles also had the opportunity to review it and we have put together these uh uh procedures um that we want to bring to your attention um what what it entails. It is um um making sure that everyone knows that we want to be able to have four steps and in each step not only
040some um interventions but some supports but and and a way that we can document what is it that we're doing in each way to support the students and also to try to include the parents as part of the solution. Um those efforts include having a meeting with them, uh having a contract, conducting some home visits and at the end is um also part of this collaboration included at the Hono Police Department in which they will be glad to allocate um SRO officers during a week. um so we can then do um visits with SRO off officers and but they want all of the documentation in place. Um some of the guidelines um this is where people may get confused. It is student is chronically absent once they're out 10%. Um but that is based on
041the days that they've been enrolled. Um, for example, if a student is here for the 180 days, that equates to 4.5 absences. After 4.5 absences in the first quarter, the students will be chronically absent. By the end of the first semester, more than nine will be chronically absent. By the end of the third quarter, um, having 13.5 will be chronically absent. And by the end of the year, by quarter four, if they have 18 absences, uh more than 18 absences, they will be chronically absent. During the month, during the first quarter, we had a about 100 students that were chronically absent. By the month of December, we almost close to 500 students chronically absent, requiring then u special attention. So uh the purpose of this is to not not only have the students information, the
042parents information but start documenting when we have those conversations, when we have those meetings with the parents and with the support of also tech support. Um there we want to make sure that we um we have a system in place to document our efforts and upload it to the student records. Well, there is a place already in there uh in which uh we can have not only have these documentations but every time we have the meeting a parent keeps signing on the same document we scan it again and we can upload it in synergy. Um and on the bottom are some uh suggested additional solutions uh so that we can try it as a district. This is for now uh information to the governing board that we want to bring as an update. We went
043over it uh briefly during a retreat. This is including also the feedback from our principles. With your support, this drop will continue to uh evolve. But most importantly, I would like for this to begin uh we can begin um not only training our our staff, training our our teachers, our parent leaison um and also letting the families that this is going to be our system in place because we want to reduce our chronic absences. But most importantly, we want to make sure the students are in class learning. Um given that we have reliable transportation and that our teachers they are ready to welcome our students in the classroom. Um feel free to read it if you have the chance already to read read it. Um I'll take questions and additional recommendations. >> Any questions, comments
044from the board? I think we just need a little bit more time um on this to work together, have a better understanding of, you know, Um I I I know it is an issue. has always been an issue you know and I think to benefit our students and and most and that's why we are looking at this because we do want our students to get you know to to come back to school to get their education you know for for them to have a better life you know in regards to if they want to continue school if because they really can't nowadays it's really difficult to get a job without your high school diploma. And you know, we want them to be able to look forward to a brighter future. Um, so I think um
045I guess just kind of uh going through the steps and how we're going to accomplish this. >> Absolutely. Um you bring a good point um board member uh Hrix, it's a life skill. what that we're trying to teach here is not just coming to to learn, but it's it's a life skill. Um we have some students that have um 80 absences already in any job. That's not a good sign. So um we do need the support of the families. Uh this is a little reminder in the morning to get them up, get in the bus, and we'll take care of the rest. So take the time to read it, review it. Uh we'll be happy to bring it back. Um, and I'll make myself available for any questions that you may have as well. >>
046Thank you, Ruben. Um, I really I like that we have a visual on paper of the steps that we're taking because when um it's presented to different um supporters like um say legislative council or when you when you go do those reports um it actually This actually shows that there's additional steps that are trying to you know we're trying to do to make sure that the students are in school and that you know I don't know what what else can be done but this is it kind of takes away from the learning portion of what the school is for and what the staff is here for to for us or for you to have to take this step, a necessary step to get the kids in school or students, especially those who are um chronically
047absent. But it, you know, that h it has to be done and we've been um I guess ever since when ever since I can remember, we've been trying to tackle that. um absenteeism and so it's just um I appreciate that you're doing this. Um and then I know it's more work. it it's a lot more work than you know we should have or you should have to be doing but it also goes to show that it's not just verbally telling the community that we're trying to do something that it actually shows documentation that there are steps and you know and as Sylvia mentioned whether or not our students we want them to have that secondary education But yet some of them are going to go into the workforce and and yes, you're right. With that
048many absent sisters, they're not going to be able to hold the job, you know, because u employers need those students there on time every day. board clerk Vince. Um I also would like to mention that many of the steps there are things that we're already doing but what we're trying to do now is formalize the process um that and and and formalize the process in documenting it as well. Um but I'm looking forward um this is like you mentioned it's going to be an extra effort uh from our teachers from our leaison from our principles. Um but nevertheless it's another great step in encouraging our kids to make sure that to show that we love them and that we believe in them and and motivate them to be here in school. >> Thank you. Next
049we go on to number eight uh 202627 student and family handbook. >> Members of the board uh members of the community I would like to also summon Miss Marita Mason uh to come and help me with this item. Um these are some of the changes that um we are bringing to your attention. um for the u usually during the summer you get a chance u to review all the handbooks and also to approve any it changes or any alignment with new policy. This one does have a sense of urgency as a result of our data review some of the um intentions of having an accelerated school and the the group that we want to serve. Um we also want to make some changes um so we can maximize the services and intentions. So that's cool.
050And Miss Mason um and I worked on on on this document for some preliminary changes to bring to your attention. Some of them they will need um your your your support so that we can begin informing some families and parents. We want to start our online um enrollment process um on the second week on the 16th of February that week and we need to with with your support we want to um begin these changes. You'll get another uh set of revisions during the summer but these are the most urgent. So if you don't mind um Miss Mazone to go over some of the changes that you are also um recommending. make sure the microphone is on. >> So, uh the recommendations after the data review um were specific to the goal and the outcomes uh
051of the purpose of the school which is um generating the focus and the target to high school graduation. meaning that uh not sure the my notes are are are not showing but um and the page number however um from what I recall and on my notes maybe I should grab the >> Yeah, you can go ahead and give you >> specific pages are um listed on there to specify the grades 10th through 12th only. >> I'm sorry. >> Um the one of the changes is specifying the the grade change uh to 10 through 12 in Okay. Under the handbook recommendations noted our um eligibility recommendations. Specifying 10 to 12 only um as the recommendation on page six. and recommendation to specify Indian Oasis High School grades 10 to 12 uh 10 to 12 on page
05210 and the recommendation to do away with carryovers uh for the course completions on page 28. And the last one was a recommendation to specify Indian Oasis High School grades 101 12 on page 54 for the behavior matrix which is also um the recommendation. Would you like me to read in into detail what those changes are? Okay. I'm not seeing the I'm not able to bring up the changes the notes the one with the notes. I think it would be really helpful um when we it comes back again if you could highlight or um >> oh >> put a different color on the changes so that way we'll know >> she did but it's not showing here >> but I don't know how to >> she submitted it but the PDF is not showing the
053changes that she submitted it for whatever reason >> I'm showing um >> but I do have them way that I can >> give me one second Okay. >> I I have the live room as well. Um >> should I share it with Erin or with Ben? >> I'm the one showing it on my screen. Give me one second. >> Thank you. Um, so highlighted while we looked that up is on page six. Uh, an enrollment packet for the Indian Oasis Middle High School Accelerated Campus can be accessed can be accessed on the Indian Oasis Middle School Indian Oasis High School website. Um that is a recommendation that we change it to for 10th through 12th grade. An enrollment packet for the Indian Oasis Middle School accelerated campus can be accessed on Indian Oasis Middle Indian
054Oasis High School website. Along with um the addition to that would be Indian Oasis Middle High School staff with collaborate uh will collaborate with JDC to enroll students. Students with exceptional needs must have an IEP prior to enrolling the students to determine if Indoasis Middle High School has the resources to meet FAPE FAP stipulated on the IEP. >> It is now on the screen. Uh governing board members. >> All right. Thank you. >> Does it recommend a change for page six? Next one. >> The next piece highlighted um for recommendation and review is page seven, reenrollment process. Um if the student if a student is dropped from Indian's middle high school, Indian's high school, the student and parent guardian must schedule a meeting with the principal in order to reenroll. Indian Oasis Middle High School.
055Indian Oasis High School placement is limited and students and families must understand and agree to the requirements for continuous enrollment. >> Next one. >> The next one is on page 10. Indian Oasis Accelerated Campus. Um up for review is a recommendation for Indian Oasis Middle High School Accelerated Camp campus serves 6th through 12th grade. The recommendation is to change that to 1012. The school has implemented a computer program that is aligned with the Arizona academic standards core curriculum. In addition to the core subjects and elective courses, there are opportunities for dual enrollment with the Hono AM community college. Next is um the page 13 recommendation uh that's highlighted. Uh at the moment all transfers involving exceptional education students must be approved by the exceptional student services director for placement at Indian Oasis High School and
056um Baboku High School. This is a piece that we would like reviewed here. So that it's uh stated that it's the least restrictive environment must be determined by the IEP subject to review if FAPE needs to stipulated uh in the IEP can be fulfilled with the resources available. Next is up for recommendation page 28 highlighted is E. Each student is expected to complete 100% of the requirement class in order to receive a grade and the credit for the class. students who complete a minimum of 60% of a class in order to for it to carry over into the following semester in any student who completes 59% or lower of the class will receive a failing grade and the class will not carry over into the next semester. That is the present um policy at the
057moment. It is recommended that we do away with carryovers and the recommendation is that each student is expected to complete no less than 80% of the commulative test to receive a grade and the credit for the class. The expectation is to complete each course assigned. Failures to complete a course will result in retaking it. And um we want to com do away with carryovers and that's why it's stated remove carryovers from the information piece and the other piece was the matrix. um Indian Oasis on page 54, Indian Oasis is high school campus behavior matrix 10 to 12. And in the summer, we're hoping to review it some more and um to make sure that the pieces to what we want um with this with these policies are aligned to our target and our vision and
058our mission to our school. questions. Any questions from the board? >> Oh, Miss Hendricks. Um, so I guess with the the grade level change, would that also uh change the Indian oasis high school or would that be just middle high school accelerated campus? >> At this point, the recommendation is to keep the the name as is uh but currently serving only those grades. Um, changing the name, it it's a whole new process. Um and based on the time that we have right now, we want to only provide those services to those grade levels. The name will remain the same. >> I guess my question would be when are we looking at starting this new school year? >> That is a great question. Um these recommendations are to be um for the next school year but
059because we want to open the enrollment um we want to make sure the parents they are u informed ahead of time the enrollment is coming. However those parents are currently with the seventh and eth and ninth grader at uh accelerated we want to contact them and and meet with them to explain our reasons behind why we need to make these change given the the current placement and the services. The students are not showing the growth in the attendance required, the independence and the maturity required to be able to cope with the type of program that we have at accelerated. >> Thank you. >> Any other questions? >> Okay. >> So, so this will kind of square away what we discussed last last meeting. >> That is correct. >> I was trying to catch up that
060retreat got to me. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Go ahead. >> I'm still in the the t the name. >> It's just that I think that once you inform these parents and that are below the the 10th grade level, um they would want to know, but you're still middle school. I mean, you know, that would be an issue. I think that you have to you know explain >> that is correct I will have to address the name um and that is a whole other process it goes to um how it the school is registered with the state and it's a whole process so I will definitely have to address that with the parents >> to explain all that because you know obviously we have barbecue middle high school because we do have 7 then
0619 through 12 for high school you know at our regular Correct. But for this one, since we're going to be eliminating those grades, you know, I think you would have to explain that why the name is going to remain the same. >> Okay. >> Um, so I guess my question will be a follow up with Sylvius. Um, so it sounds like when you say that there's a process, is it a long process um to do that name change? >> Like how long? becomes a little bit more. >> So my recommendation to do that, you know, close down the school and they have to apply on that. So basically we're going to close those off and due to lack of students, lack of attendance, there's not enough student body to pay an extra >> board member
062uh cler board clerk events. Um we do need a six, seven, and eight though because we provide services to JDC. Those are the exceptional circumstances why we need to have those grades. Um they're part of our attendance area and we need to provide those services based on their situation. This is the best setting that we can connect with them and provide those services. but is not okay currently for students who could be benefiting from a regular program. >> That makes sense. The JDC students, I I didn't think about that. They would be in those grades, >> correct? >> Some of them. So, okay. >> They would continue to be serviced through our campus. So in the followup with this information, is it going to be highlighted? I can see >> we'll find a way to
063make sure the highlights are embedded for the color. >> Thank you. >> And this is onlyformational, right? >> This is only information. Uh, next we have number nine, coaches and club sponsors. Bobby Cubri High School, Andre Anton for head softball coach, Richard Garcia for assistant baseball coach. Next, we go into F action items. Number one, discussion and possible approval of the Bobby Cubri Unified School District 2026 27 school site standards. um board clerk and members of the board. Um each year we go through this process and it's how we allocate um the uh full-time employees uh to each school based on the enrollment um based on on our projected enrollment. We recommend that Babok Unified School District governing board approve the 26 27 standards as presented. Is there any motion? >> Sylvia second. >> Second.
064>> Favor the motion. >> Yes. Uh Captain Vance >> Mappo Sia Hris. >> Mappard. >> Yes. >> Motion carries. >> Next. Number two. discussion and possible approval of the barbecue reunified school district 202627 staff increases. >> This is also part of our routine business. um board members. Um every year we pro based on our projections and and and and discussions um what we can afford and we want to recommend to the governing board, Unified School District governing board to approve the 2026 2027 staff increases as presented which is the the the one step equivalent to 2%. >> Do I hear a motion? >> Make a motion. Motion by Miss Leonard. Second. >> Second. >> Miss Hendris. >> All those in favor of more money. >> Masappa. >> Silia Hendris. >> Masappa. >> Motion. >> Number
065three. Discussion and possible approval of the Barbecq Reunified School District 2026 27 certified and classified renewals. >> Also a routine business. Uh board members. Um the every year around this time uh the uh the the each administrator and director recommends the renewals uh for certified and classified staff. This is the first batch. Some names may not be included at this point for different circumstances. Um there will be in the future depending on on those circumstances that we may bring an additional list. But as of right now, we recommend, this is based on the feedback and evaluation and the recommendation from our directors and and and supervisors. We recommend the Babok Community School District governing board to approve the 26 27 certified classified renewals as presented. >> I hear a motion. Make a motion. >> Miss
066Leonard. Motion. >> Second. >> Miss Hendris. Second. >> All those in favor of this motion? Catherine Vance. >> Map. Mazapo. Item number four, discussion and possible approval of the Babe Unified School District 2026 27 district administration renewals. >> Governing board. Um it is with uh great pride and and endorsement that I recommend the Bubble County Fire School District governing board to approve the 26 27 administration renewal as presented as well. Motion by Sylvia Hendris. >> Second, Miss Dion Leonard. >> All those in favor of the motion >> number five, discussion and possible approval of job description learning support coordinator. U governing board uh members um and and me members of the staff. This is a previous um job description that we had in place um by reviewing um also the new configuration for accelerated. Um
067we would like to bring these uh previous learning support coordinator job description with some changes. Um and I would like um Miss Mason to come back to the podium to share her vision based on this position and she's running. Good evening again. Um where should I pick up? Uh >> how we want to use the learning support coordinator um under the new configuration of um accelerated and what services based on the background that we want to provide and some of the recommendations for for this job description. >> Well um as you can see here the background uh for this position um currently at the moment um Middle and high school um funds the following positions. Uh one FTE, one full FTE for ELA teacher and 20 for um JDC. And um with a goal in
068mind of increasing the support needed by our students, Indian's middle and high school would like to bring back the learning support coordinator at Indian Noises Middle School. The support learning coordinator position will be funded through impact aid by combining and recycling the funding sources for the positions listed above. So the recommendations are um to adhere to all federal and state laws, court orders and district policies and regulations, coordinate and facilitate the enrollment process and services with students under the custody of JDC in the Tona nation. Develop implemented and um develop implement and monitor the PBIS program to increase attendance and reduce behavior incidents. has needed support as the director's designate. Also support with entering students um schedules and meeting with students to support their academic growth. Um the um goal and the vision for for
069this position is um to ensure that our students are being supported um within um the purpose of the program to ensure um that number one um We are meeting those guidelines and um we are in compliance with the accelerated mission to uh make sure that our students recover their credits. Um safety is a big issue and combining um all these um FTEEs into the position will also make a great impact for our students and our school moving forward. Without any objection, board clar members, we recommend the Baba Unified School District governing board to approve the learning support coordinator job description as presented. >> I hear a motion. >> Go ahead and make a motion. Uh this sounds like it's a real positive addition to the accelerated campus, especially with the grade levels that we're expecting
070to increase the enrollment in. Um I think with that kind of support for uh yourself and teachers and especially students >> I hear a second >> second >> I made the motion >> made the motion. All those in favor of the motion, >> Kathleen Vance, >> Masappa, >> Sylvia Hendricks, >> Masappa, >> Deion Leonard. >> Motion carries. >> Number six, discussion and possible approval of the Bob Kever Unified School District March board meeting date change. Uh board members, uh this coming March board meeting on March the 10th actually lands on spring break. So we put it this on the agenda item just to see if you wanted to move that date. Uh we might not get a lot of participation. Maybe some admin or our staff are actually uh leading on taking that time off.
071Uh teachers don't actually work that time frame also. Um so if you would like you guys can discuss and keep that date or change it to another day in March. So, our original date would be the 9th. >> Are we going back to Tuesday? >> Well, I had it on the 10th, which is that falls on spring break. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. So, um like I said, if you'd like, we can move it to the 3 or I mean the week prior if you guys are available. Uh the week after 16th and 17th, Ruben will be at Nafas. Um, I didn't bring my calendar with me, but I think Well, I'll be having class still on Tuesdays. So, if you want to move it the week before >> March 2nd is fine or the
0724th. >> When are you back from Nath? >> That's a week before. Um, we're looking at um >> back the 18th. He'll be back the 18th. >> Yes, I believe so. I believe so >> because he doesn't have anything else on his calendar. >> So, I'll work around you guys's calendar. >> What? >> The I will work around you guys's calendar. Um I know I'm scheduled for NES um the 14th through the 17th. If you want to move it to the 18th, um we can make that arrangement. The only request, um is that I may need some time because it's also my son's spring break that I needed some time with him that week. >> Are you available on the second? >> I am. It just it just seems like it's like really quick for
073them to their stuff together to present it. Unless we're just >> 35th, >> huh? >> What about the 4th 35th? Because I would I would >> the fourth maybe. >> Fourth. >> Oh, but that's still the week of spring break. >> No, it's following the following week. >> Oh, okay. >> The fourth. the fourth. >> Okay. Anybody want to make a motion uh to move it to March 4th? Wednesday, March 4th. >> I'll go ahead and make the motion to move our March date, our March meeting to March 4th. >> Second. >> Motion made by Miss Hendris, second by Miss Leonard. >> All those in favor of this motion, Kathleen Vano, >> Siao, >> Leonard. Motion carries. >> Thank you. Uh number seven, discussion and possible approval. Family leaison position. >> May I please have
074uh principal VK to make the recommendation to the county board. >> Good evening. um Intermediate Elementary School would like to recommend Juan Diaz Romo for the apparently on position for 2025 to 2026 school year. >> I hear a motion. I'll make a motion to approve. >> Second. >> All those in favor of this motion? Captain Vance >> Mappy Hendricks. Thank you. >> Number letter G, consent agenda. Um, remember we're pulling the senior trip from this um agenda and that uh that's going to be at a later date. And we also pulled the family layers on, but everything else in there would be under the consent approval. if it's approved. I hear a motion for approval. >> Motion by Sylvia Hendris. >> Second by Miss Dion Leonard. >> All those in favor of approving the consent
075agenda. Kathleen Vance. >> Silia Hendricks. >> Mappard. >> Motion carries. Next we have um letter J request for future agenda items. The one is board retreat date selection >> cancel right not till summer. Per my recollection, President Mia wanted um a fourth quarter um and then a summer, but I will be deferring he wanted one after every single quarter um and then comprehensive for the year. But I'll will defer back to the governing board to determine what level of clarity would they like us um to present. >> I thought it was going to be quarterly like analysis. >> That was my recollection for President Mia's um request. >> Did you have any dates? While he's looking at dates, um I may call for a noon special meeting and that's going to be for the senior
076trip. Once they get all their paperwork correct, uh I'll send out an email or text to see if you guys are available by phone or we can do a short video. Um I will not be here for the March meeting, so I'm hoping that uh the admin team here can pull it together and get all that information in there. I leave the February 28th and I don't come back until 12. So, um, we'll work on getting all all the documents in there. So, you guys have all the information you need. Um, Nafas, there's a spot open for a board member if anybody can attend. >> When is when is NAS? >> Traveling information. the 14th through the 17th or 14th through the 18th. >> It's two months. >> 14th through the 17th >> and that's
077in >> DC. >> And I know March. Say March. This month >> in March. >> March. >> Yes. >> Okay. And nobody Nobody. >> No. No. >> I don't think Miss Stevens will be able to attend just because of her situation. It would just mean uh if you go just be you and Ruben do it >> March 14th to the 17th. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Can I let you know tomorrow? >> Yes, please. >> Okay. >> I'll hold you to that. >> Okay. and board um clerk events. Um for your consideration, given that the fourth quarter will be so so close to the summer, my recommendation is to combine the fourth quarter with the summer. Um instead of having a fourth quarter and then a summer comprehensive retreat. Um that will really help the staff
078as well. Uh so we can close the year. Um but having an end a fourth quarter and then a board retreat to uh in my recommendation I think it will be too repetitive. So I I will highly suggest and encourage that you allow us to present the fourth quarter within the summer retreat. >> I agree. >> I I agree with that suggestion. So, do we have we have a date yet for the fourth quarter? >> I'll send you some dates via email and please confirm with them. That way I can confirm with my staff as well. >> Okay. Any other uh requests for future agenda items? At this time, >> that's pretty clear. >> Okay. So, let's go to item uh K. Adjournment. >> Hello, >> Sylvia. Sylvia Hendris. I second. >> All those in
079favor of the motion. Kathleen Vance. >> Masappo. >> Silia Hendricks. >> Masappo. >> Dion letter. Motion carries. >> We are ajourned at 7:42 p.m. >> Thank you everyone. Happy birthday, Ross.
