Miss Clementina Carlile, let's give a round of applause. [applause] Erin, can you put the expenditures on, please? >> I got it. >> Oh, okay. >> The memo or the actual? >> No,

the actual report. Okay. Good evening, President Wendia, board members, Superintendent Diaz, and everyone here and attending online. Um, attached you will find the fiscal year 2026 expenditures through October 31st. I hope you had an opportunity to review it. All the budgets balances are currently positive. 029this evening is our barbecue school district school principal supports. Mr. Diaz. Uh, President Monita, members of the board, and uh, colleagues, please help me welcome back Miss Enrique. Let's give her a round of applause so she can present her highlights for the month of October. >> Good evening, President Wendia, governing board members, and Mr. Diaz. I have submitted my report in writing. I hope you've had an opportunity to read it. I do want to point out that I forgot to change September to October. Um, but our attendance rate is still at 90%. Um, we do have a November attendance challenge that's also linked that you can take a look at um for our community event. Can you Are you scrolling? Can you go back to the highlights? Thank you. Um, thank you for everyone that

came out. It was a very successful evening. We had about 425 people sign in. Um that was not including our community partners that came out to participate in either the booth or the trunk or treat. Um I've listed all of the people that showed up that day. Um kids had a great time. Parents did. So did our staff. You'll see that in the video. But again, think it was a really, really good community event. Um that's all I have. >> Erin, we're ready for the video. Aaron, can you hear us? Okay. I don't have this on All right. And I want to >> [snorts] >> Good job. Thank you. [applause] >> Thank you so much, Miss Enriquez. I just wanted to um uh also say uh I I really do appreciate um the the whole

enthusiasm, I think, especially. But but oh, I had a question. Um and this is enthusiasm for like the the STEM u community that you have which was awesome but I had a follow-up question based on the report do you or I know you mentioned that attendance has been pretty good which so kudos but first of all but I also wanted to ask about the the tardies have there been still any kind of es and flows or has it been getting better with your new policy on making sure parents are signing in and all of that or is it still just the same? >> It's getting a little better. It's still the same kiddos that come in late. Um, we did have a couple where we did call parents in and had a sit down meeting

with them and explained, you know, they're missing out on a lot of stuff that's happening. I mean, they're going to miss out regardless of what time you get checked out. Yeah. >> Um, but when we have kids that don't show up till 10:00, you've missed almost all of SFA. >> Um, so we've been trying to emphasize how important it is that they are there on time. Um there were some issues that transportation was an issue, but then we're like, well, the bus picks up, so that can't be an issue, you know? So, we just went through different things. Apparently, Aison has been helping as well. We've been getting attendance contracts signed, right? >> Um, so it's gotten a bit better, but it's not where we want it to be, but it's making some progress. >>

Awesome. No, no, I think you guys are taking a pretty good standpoint, so thank you so much for that. Any other questions for primary chemists? Thank you, Mr. Enriquez. >> Thank you. Appreciate [applause] >> Please put your hands together to welcome uh Miss Jolene Lewis, principal for our intermediate campus. >> Good evening, President Wendia, board members, superintendent Diaz, and community members. Um there was a little typo. I was doing this on my phone making this um principal report. So on the October attendance on Miss Bulada, it says 9%. It's supposed to say 91% and Miss Hilawa had 96% not 9%. But everybody had 90% attendance um except for one class which was just 1% off. So, we were very, very close. But schoolwide, we have 92% attendance. And um the biggest highlight is that we're

a B school. [applause] And we can show the video. You can start the video. No, they cannot hear us for some reason. So, we're texting him. So, we apologize for the inconvenience. Um, >> [applause] >> We hope you can watch the video later and more clearer. [laughter] >> Thank you. Thank you, Miss Beay Lewis. Uh, committee board members, anything for Miss Pig Lewis's report? I just want to say congratulations to you and your team for all your hard work. It definitely shows and I love that the students are super excited that they made the B status. So congratulations to you and your team. >> Thank you. >> Miss um [clears throat] again congratulations on that beh when when you show them they're like oh my god like they can do it. That's so cool. Oh

yeah. Congratulations for that. But also um thank you to all your staff and the teachers for all their hard work, the dedication, the commitment to our children. Um and also to the attendance percentages. Congratulations. >> Thank you. >> And just to echo again, thank you so much for all the effort that y'all put in. Uh I think it's 100% what um what reflects in the overall achievement with the students. You have really created an amazing climate there. So thank you so much for the effort. I really appreciate it. Thank you for your report, Miss B. Lewis. >> Thank you. Our our sixth graders now are um they were asking, "Well, what happens if we become a school for next year, but we're not going to be here?" And we're all, "Yeah, but you can walk

around at your next campus with your head up high and say,"I made that happen." So, [applause] >> thank you. >> Please welcome. >> Hello again. Um, President Bundi, President Bundy, I can't talk today. board members, superintendent Diaz, and everyone else who's still here. Um, our school highlight for the month of October is we had our first quarterly awards and it was well um attended and that's it. We can go ahead and move on to the video. >> I'll let you do it, Mr. Diaz. >> Okay. Well, you can do it. Okay, we'll do it. Um, >> Ben will do a dance while we're waiting. >> I said, Ben, we'll do a dance while we're waiting. We can't >> the fear. No. Thank you, Miss Once. Uh, governing board members, any questions for the secondary report?

Miss Vance, >> um I did have a question on the uh quarter the data. Um do you don't have the pre and post? >> No, because the pre is all-encompassing. The quarter is just for the standards addressed in that. So it would be um very different things that you're comparing. >> Okay. So in with that then we would have to wait to see quarter >> at quarter two you'll be yes quarter two happens at the end of quarter two which would be in December so in January you will see quarter 1 and quarter two and since those are more aligned in the sense that in quarter 1 there are certain standards that are addressed in quarter two there are more standards addressed but the pre is all the standards so there's It's always going to

look more red than it should because there's a lot of standards not addressed yet until the very end. >> Okay. >> And then at that's why at the end you'll have the pre and the post which are the exact same test and you'll get to see their true growth. >> But on your side you guys are able to see and able to address those needs more. >> We have this and we also have DFAS and there's more standards and checks for understanding. >> Okay. Miss uh Stevens, anything? >> Okay. Thank you, Miss Son, so much for your report. Appreciate it. >> Thank you. >> Oh, sorry, Miss Diaz. We do have to acknowledge um there's a lot of work that we have to do still, but it's important to note that um thanks to not

only the work that has been going on um in the leadership under the leadership of Wisconsin, um the high school is now uh rated a letter B um under the state of um um the grading system for the state of Arizona. So, please help me put your hands together. Um because we have the high school also Abi um and there's there's more um that we'll share in in in just a minute. But right now um I want to thank Miss Constants once her leadership team and all of the previous leaders um that have been part um of this growth. But this this is not happening overnight. This is a growth that has been happening for a couple of years. So I want to thank um not only her the current leadership but all of the

previous leaderships as leadership as well that have done everything they can to continue to move forward um and that I want to thank our teachers, our students and the family for believing in us and continue to work with us and this is only the beginning. It's also an invitation that we have a lot of work to do and if we continue to work together um uh the the A is just uh scoping no jump skipping a hop uh from from becoming an A couple of our schools but uh I I want to thank you all for for your commitment um your support and continue to work um to ensure our students they've been recognized and also schools and our teachers. Thank you. Let me let me just kind of go back to that then. I

think it's really important and I know that when we look at not only the reports or what is presented to the board, it's a reflection of what you decide you want to present as principles. Um, and granty there are reports that are a lot more filled with information, some that are just information and some that we know are here's the board what the board wants to see here look at it. But I but I do want to make sure that we're not only celebrating but express huge gratitude to everyone that participated in making that school at the level that it is at today. So thank you so much Mr. Diaz for for not only acknowledging that but I want to you know encourage Miss Once to to to to step in in in in good

in a good in a good way towards you know this is something to really be celebrating and I I would much rather that that be coming from you as a principal. Um, so I guess from the board standpoint, I I I will say to all of your staff and everyone else and anyone else that um is um you know needs to hear it, thank you so much for everything that you do for our students and and to our parents and guardians and everyone else. Um that achievement is not just that of the schools but is that of the community. each one of the schools and their ability to be able to achieve is based in a lot of different factors that not that don't always reflect well in the school. So I mean don't reflect

well on the students or the school or the community. So while we may all feel like this is something that doesn't feel like ours or maybe we don't we're not we don't deserve it. We absolutely, I think, have to continue to acknowledge our students here nor there or our administrators or anyone else who's come or gone um need to be acknowledged and thanked and celebrated. So, thank you. Um that's I guess for me. I don't know if any board members have anything else to say about that. >> If not, we can move on. Thank you, Mr. D. Please help me welcome Miss Mason, principal for our accelerated school. Please give a round of applause. [applause] >> Hello. Good evening, President Wendia, board members and superintendent Diaz. Uh we do have a double presentation I believe

for um September and October. The one we see now is November um in which you will see the report um has been adjusted so that it most reflects what we are working on as far as our our goals and our alignment and making those um adjustments to make sure that we are communicating exactly what um would represent our schools. >> So that is where you'll see the difference between um September and and November. >> Thank you. You see that? >> I see the November one up. Um so perhaps you already um viewed the September one and um you will see that um the November one has been updated to reflect um the focus areas and the alignment, the how and the progress um into which we are moving forward for each of these categories. And

that's under school priorities and focus areas. You will also see um the graduation rate that same template that has been adjusted for that reflection to where it um it gives that information for alignment the how and the progress of it and um through it is the progress for November and where we stand um sorry for October where we stand for the month of October which we didn't have in the previous report um it was a little bit um it was excluding of that specific information. So, this one's a much more detailed and in-depth um type of a report. And um speaking about thanking people and being thankful, this is um the month to do that. And I'm very thankful that um you have been uh given us as a school the privilege to change these

and adjust these type of um reports to where um we can best report out to our community and to everyone present. We are um still um working through it. So if uh there's any adjustments or suggestions, we are happy to take those um suggestions and and um make those changes. But for uh credit and progress um check meetings um those remained. Um what is nice about this report um if you look at the um July, August, September, October for the credits and courses completed that's a better idea and view of what courses our students completed within those months. And we plan to move forward and um count those courses and those credits. Since we are a credit recovery school, we figured that adjustment is a better reflection, a truer reflection of of what our purpose

is. And um the attendance uh formats remain the same. um culture and language uh focus remained also the same with those updates for the month of October moving into November for quarter two and violations and incident reports remain the same um so that template remained and uh if you have any questions please let me know you >> it's a little more wordy so but it's okay >> it's more information that I think will help us uh understand where we're moving forward to with that information and more detailed. >> Do we still have any kind of at least a little snapshot of um possible graduates or am I missing it somewhere in here? >> It was it's in the September um report. Um I believe those numbers are in that one >> or like on track

graduates I guess I should say or or stuff like that. >> Yes. Um so that was asked for se the September report. So I believe that is where it's at. But okay um if you want it monthly I can >> we can um make that first adjustment right there. >> Awesome. Thank you so much. That would be great. >> Ready to go. No. >> Our highlights um for October as we're waiting um our Messa and Hiking Club. They uh have gone to the Sawato National Park. Um some other amazing things that are um going on on our campus is kids went out to biosphere too. So that was um amazing too. We're back in action. There's a September video and an October video report. Oh, comes good. Comes good. Yes. As we waiting for for

the next video, uh, President Mia, if you'll allow me, um, I want to um also acknowledge that accelerated retained and maintain uh the letter grade OC. So, they did not regress and we are going to uh based on a new plan and based on the areas that we're going to be looking uh looking at um is going to be more information that we're going to be able to monitor to ensure that we're taking the necessary steps so we can continue to move forward. Um in addition um even there was not mentioned during her report um her number of students with perfect attendance have increased for the month of October. So I wanted to acknowledge that when I read your report. So thank you for that. Uh back to you Erin. Go ahead and play the

video. Okay, thank you. Uh, any questions, governing board members, or anything else you'd like to see in the report? As Miss Mosan has mentioned, um, just adding the graduations, Miss Stevens. >> Okay. Thank you, Miss Milan. Appreciate it. >> You're welcome. The for >> that. We'll move on with our agenda this evening. Number five is the barbecq governing board member reports. Uh I do not have a report for this month. Miss Stevens, no report. Miss Vance um on October 22nd we did attend the ASBA county director's meeting in the Flowing Wells School District. Um and then on Saturday um November 8th, they did attend the South uh community uh land lease um this their community meeting to uh help with u passing a resolution on the land lease. And I want to thank Ruben um

for being online [laughter] um and also uh for it uh for having that set up so uh Ruben can um be online with us. So thank you and those the only things that we do to attend. I I was just reminded I I did attend the um community day at the primary campus. Uh was able to not only visit with the vendors but also kind of mingle and um um visit the book fair and spend money. [laughter] But other than that, uh I think that as far as being able to support not only the schools and and and and have conversations with Mr. ideas as needed. Um, majority of what we and what I know I was able to participate in. And I guess I'll go back to the discussion about the uh letter grades

for the schools because I know that that was brought to our attention far in advance, but it was also brought to our attention not only that, but some of the some of the um audit reports for the district which are actually uh doing much better. Um, and not that it was ever going to be, not that it was ever a question that it would or would not happen, but I think that there was always instances where the board is is either um, participating and doesn't doesn't think that we are, but you know, there's a lot that I feel like we go through throughout the month, but more or less, I just wanted to share that um, um, we are informed about so much uh, when it comes to the community and or you know those

things that that that are must um that must be addressed. So I just want to thank Mr. Diaz and the whole staff and all the delegates that um are here where Mr. Diaz is not in how you address and what you need to do and how you take care of what needs to happen while while he's out. So thank you so much for that. But that's all I have. But that um we can turn over to you Mr. Diaz for your report. President >> uh President Mia, members of the board, members of the community. Um let me pull out my notes. Right. Um there's a lot I want to celebrate. There's a lot I want to convey. Um as part of the superintendent report, um as I me uh as mentioned earlier, um I want

to once again highlight but most importantly, I want to thank our students. They they've been working. I think they've been open to learn. I want to appreciate all of the departments because without everyone's support, we couldn't have gotten to this point. Um it it's been a journey. Um but nevertheless, it's a journey that the community deserve to to hear about it. Um our staff deserves to hear about it. Um and I want to congratulate the entire team, the governing board, the parents, and the students for this achievement. Um once again I want to put your hands together for the high school for um for achieving a letter B [applause] for the independ uh for the um uh intermediate school campus. Um they also achieve a letter B. Let's put your hands together to celebrate them.

for the um um for the accelerated campus. They maintained the letter C and we're going to continue to work so we can get the B or an A. So, let's put your hands together for them. Middle school, they also they retained the letter C. They were 1.54 to get a B. They were just this far away from earning a B. But definitely, let's give him a round of applause, the staff and the students despite of any challenges. But um the other announcement that I need to make is that Baboku Uni Fire School District as a district was also ranked as a letter B. So we are proud for everyone support. We are officially a letter B. Uh we'll be working with the county superintendent. He wants to come and congratulate the community and the staff

for this achievement. So we will hear more about uh the stay open and and in tune because we will be celebrating as a community. Um I have no words other than to thank all of you for this great achievement uh for Babok Kiri um and for the Toono Auto Nation. This is something to to acknowledge and the community um needs to to celebrate as well uh for this achievement. Um on the same token um to celebrate other departments and and extraordinary work I want to thank operations they have completed um 951 out of 1,65 uh work quarters in this barely by October. So let's give him a round of applause for that. I want to give a shout out to Dr. Marcos at the high school. He started the uh student le enterprise. Uh they're

selling coffee and treats. So if anyone would like to contribute and to acknowledge and allow to be part of the authentic experience for our students, I want to thank the high school leadership and m Dr. Marco for um giving our students this great opportunity. Let's give him a round of applause for that. Um I want uh we I we mentioned it, but I want I want to give once again a shout out to Miss Hart. Um 4,260 pounds of food in just for the month of October. Um that's commendable. Uh 390 students uh were were served. Um and for the extra work on writing the ground in and obtaining $65,000 from from DDC. Let's give him a round of applause. [applause] Transportation. They completed the evacuation drills and this is a preparation um for to

ensure that our staff and students know what to do. Let's give him a round of applause for successful completion of the evacu evacuation drills. Let's give him a round of applause. Um, primary, I give shout out to primary. Um, we have uh just primary alone. Um, 41 students that they move to or they are uh taking advantage of the judum or level two hemod class uh autumn class. Um 41 students again these are our efforts in supporting the nation and I want to thank the nation for supporting us with this program. um students that started in in the uh Kamkood and now we have 41 students already um that have moved to Jodum level. So let's give a round of applause to our hemodak teachers. Um and there's hope at the end of the light

at the end of the tunnel that we will make every effort to recuperate uh the author um curriculum and instruction. Thank you for the work that they do in supporting the schools. uh 35% of the time is spending um supporting and coaching and 30% also supporting the sites um and providing uh professional development and whatever's left getting their additional work done um for um the this is the social emotional learning department. There's three shout outs that I want to give out um to the counselors in every side for their work and effort in the anti-bullying um and and all of the the all the information that they put together during the month of October. Um and for the bully awareness um that they they providing to our students. Um again we also want to announce

to the parents that if you know about it um that gives to the one of the shout outs um if we have released our um anonymous um website uh or link to be able to report uh if you want to report um any bullying please take advantage uh just log on to our website and you'll be able to see that link um number two I want to thank uh the social emotional learning department for the workshops um in how to stop the bullying cycle and also for the substance abuse prevention program that is going to be taking place during the month of November all the way to February. Um so thank you for all the work and thank you for all the prevention. So let's give a round of applause to our social emotional learning

department and counselor. And having said that we have two videos to celebrate um the month of October. One of them is highlighting our an our amazing uh students from the high school. Um special thanks to the high school leadership for allowing us and and supporting us and and making sure the students have what they need so they can go and advocate through Nate. Um and secondly, um all of everything that happened during the month of October. Um Erin, two videos I'm texting Aaron. He cannot hear us. I apologize. Thank you. Awesome. Thank you, Mr. Diaz. Any questions for Mr. Diaz report on the board? If not, we'll move on. Number seven is the coaches and club sponsors for um Frost Condi for assistant boys basketball coach. Again, board members and and for the community's information,

these positions have already been approved. is naming individuals for set positions. Moving on, letter F is our action items. Number one is discussion and possible approval of the resolution of last week of October as Filipino Heritage Month. Mr. Diaz, >> uh, President Mia, members of the board, um, this is a followup from last month. Um, last month we had a a hemodog um acknowledgement um by Mr. White present here tonight. Um, and also um was asking the support from the governing board. October is also um the um national recognition um month um declared by the federal government um but based on on our our our um staff population uh the sacrifices our Filipino teachers are making uh to be able to be here um and and the contributions that they're making for our district. Uh

the following resolution was drafted to acknowledge not only them but also a a symbol of appreciation for all the work that they're doing for our students. Um it is through their work, their sacrifices as well and and combination of the the rest of the staff that we want to also um giving the the credit and the acknowledgement by celebrating the last week of October as u in conjunction to the nation and also celebration. So, at this point, President Modia, you have the resolution in front. If you don't mind sharing it to the community um and if the governing board is in agreement to support um the support and acknowledgement of the Filipino uh heritage, um we can proceed. >> Thank you. Uh before I share the uh resolution, I just want to share I think

a a a message. Um I feel like there has been so many feels like so many years have have passed but I know that for myself specifically um my children have have had um probably the same teachers as they've kind of gone through intermediate each time and and that's for a reason that they themselves have had experiences where they felt and seen not only the passion but the care um not only the care, but the kindness and above all uh feel comfortable and confident. So, I want to say thank you so much to all of our Filipino teachers for everything that they give, everything that they sacrifice. as was mentioned. Um I think that it is truly truly an honor um to observe and see and and support the overall um uh passion and professionalism

that that I have seen across the board. um and been able to not only as a parent but as a board member observe uh con consistently and continuously the the effort just seems to be effortless to to the point where this is this is a new standard that I feel like um many many of us want to be able to to hold within ourselves but even I myself can't see myself being has to that level or degree ever to reach that standard because I feel like that's how high of a bar they've set. And I want to truly say thank you so much again uh as I said um to each of our our our our guests, our honored guest um for being here with us and for giving so much to our our our

campuses, to our students, and to our community. resolution declaring the last week of October as Filipino Heritage Week. Whereas on October 14, 2025, a formal request was submitted to the Barber Unified School District Governing Board to celebrate Filipino heritage and recognize the rich culture, history, and contributions to the Filipino community. And whereas in 2009, the United States Congress officially declared the month of October as Filipino American History Month to honor and recognize the enduring legacy, achievements, and significant contributions the Filipino Americans to the nation's history and progress. Whereas the Babir Unified School District acknowledges the importance of celebrating cultural diversity, fostering inclusion, and honoring the invaluable roles of our Filipino staff, families, and community members. um and our community members play in supporting the district's mission and success of our students. And whereas in alignment

with the United States Congress and its recognition of the Filipino community's history, commitment, and support, BSD seeks to complete sorry to celebrate the and highlight Filipino culture, traditions, and accomplishments within our schools and community. Now therefore, be it resolved that this that the Barbecq Cuba Unified School District hereby declares the last week of October of each year as Filipino Heritage Week. And be it further resolved that during this week the district will commemorate the heritage, contributions, and cultural richness of the Filipino community through educational activities, community engagement, and recognition and recognition events across all barber unified school district schools. If there are no questions, I'll motion to approve. Is there a second? Second by Mrs. Kathleen Vance. >> Motion passes. Thank you so much, Mr. Y. And again, thank you so much to all of

our Filipino [applause] >> Mr. Y and members of the board. If you don't mind, can can we please stand up and give a copy also to um um Mr. White and take a picture here in the front with him to commemorate Smile. [applause] >> [snorts] >> Number two this evening is discussion and possible approval of the second reading of the Arizona school boards association policy advisory committee board members as as noted this was brought forth in the first reading um prior. So, if there are no objections, a motion to approve the second reading of PA917-958. Is there a second? Second by Miss Kathleen >> Vance. Motion passes. Number three is discussion and possible approval of the fiscal year 25 school violence prevention program grant. Mr. Diaz, >> President Media, members of the board and members

of the community. Um, Bubble King Unified School District has been applying for additional funding um through uh what is known um as the cops grant um and that is an abbreviation um and what it does um this grant provides um half a million dollars um in Bubble Unified School District. It needs to u also match the grant with some additional funding. Babok Unified School District um has been awarded um by the third time um the cops grant. Um the purpose of this grant is to increase the the uh the hardware and infrastructure to be able to promote and maintain our schools and students safe. Um for this third grant uh we need uh um the recommendation is to accept it. This this additional grant um is going to be used to be able um to

purchase additional um safety measures including um two-way radios. Um panic buttons um that the panic button it it's going to be part of a um um part of our devices that we can uh lock all all of the uh doors um at once. um we will be able to make um um announcements to all of the team members and it can actually we can also use um the the same software to be able to communicate with community members. Um it will also um create additional um mitigation in the stereo doors uh or control door uh in the front. uh um try new uh two-way radios and handle any handheld weapon detectors. Um a schoolwide communication equipment. Um and what we ask and it is recommended uh that the Bobby Community School uh board approve the

fiscal year 25 school violence prevention program grant as presented. >> Thank you, Mr. Diaz. Um I had some discussion with Mr. years prior and he reminded me that we had had some forums regarding the cops grant and I know this is a different um portion or different um project but I do want to make sure that it's expressly noted um I've always wanted to make sure that and I and and I didn't support the cops grant before and I and I probably still don't but I just want to make sure that there expressly noted that it's not because I don't want our schools to be to be safe. I think when we create schools that are that are this type of environment where you might see or feel like we're creating this military state or

state of of of situation where we're are now highly suspicious of our students. Um then then it doesn't create this environment that I feel like is is ideal. But I'm not that that's what where we're at. What I am saying is that as a former student and as a student not too long ago, um there there were instances where I did feel targeted. I did feel definitely like I was pointed out and that I was made to feel um like the bad person. So I want to be able to say that we have done and will do anything possible to make sure that that our that not only do our students but the schools have all tools and resources possible before we start our students down the path of something of a criminal or some

sort of criminal record. So that being said, I understand as well that that that the cops grants that we have um implemented prior have been very successful in not only um uh providing surveillance that was able to support um situations that may have been may not have been um um captured or or or been been observed to the degree that that the uh incidents were. And I don't I don't mean to say that that that's what happens all the time and that's why we're we're doing it. But I do want to say that the the overall effort um I think needs to be really heavily expressed. um that supporting these types of projects and and um we by by no supporting these types of projects and and regardless of where they come from um I

think it's important for us to to acknowledge that our schools um are very different we do have some very special circumstances when it comes to not only location but also uh the fact that There are a lot of many there are many different factors as to why a student um may feel unsafe or feel or feel confident enough that they will do something so brash or so haphazardly that it will cause harm to others. So whether this project um aids in that I I I I haven't seen anything that would tell me otherwise. meaning I I understand that there has been some very positive outcomes when it comes to what we've done so far with um the previous grants. So I just wanted to express that my my only my only um comment is that

to support this is is definitely where I would say I would much very much want for us to be able to not only as a board look at those mechanisms in which maybe policy need to be very very stringent on how are we addressing some of these these things and what are the steps that we expect as opposed to turning this into some sort of pass through for JDC or for even adult detention centers whatnot so on and so forth because I don't want to penalize people I don't want people to feel like they went to school one day and then then the next day you know they were they were pointed at and something happened and you know there was no other means for them other than to turn it over to the authorities

and so on and so forth and then they'll go their life down a path that that wasn't intended yet it became I'm not saying that that's happening but I do want to say that that is by far what I feel like you know where where we are. So I want to make sure that we're continuing to not only discuss these types of situations and I had did have discussions with Mr. ideas and I did feel a lot better about where I was standing in that and I will fully support the board's decision. Um, but I just wanted to make sure to express that because that's just how I felt as a board member. So, I don't know if there's anything else from the board. Miss Stevens, um, I do understand your concern. Um I have

similar thoughts and feelings toward this especially because um we we are heavily surveillanced here on the nation by border patrol and like dealing with that living in this area. Um and then also just in general we create this like I'm saying this path of this prison mentality which is not something that I want to support but I also do feel like I understand like there is also the need for safety uh especially with recent activities that happened. um I know was a huge concern for family members and we also want to address like how can we pro provide a safe environment or even address those social economic issues that students are dealing with um in their home and how can we trickle some of this money into that instead of sending them to jail or

creating them creating this life where they have to go through the judicial system and be on probation and all that stuff. How how are we going to provide that support for them? Um, so I do understand where one's coming from. It is uh it's not something that, you know, we take lightly. Um, but I also want to say that, you know, I'm just worried about the perception that we're creating for community members. Um, but also I also want to say like it is it does come down to a safety issue. Miss >> um I don't remember um in the first cops grant that was awarded. Was there um as many conditions on that as there is in this one? Because if you look at this um it has like 45 conditions. And when I started

reading all of this, it was really in depth. Um, and I and so I don't know if there's I know it it talks about what can be done and what can be, you know, you can do with the grant, but do is there additional information to share with us on what we are going to actually do with this grant in this next phase? Um, So it's so it's in the letter. Okay. So, it's going to be specifically for the purchase of uh technology including school panic buttons, exterior door access control, two-way radios, handheld weapons detector, uh and schoolwide communications equipment. Um, and then we're also required to match a portion um by using the impact impact a um for part of the project. Okay. I wasn't sure. I didn't see this part. I guess I

just um was looking at the the grant itself. Um so I just wanted to make sure that the understanding of all of those conditions must be met. Um and that um I understand and I and I know and Anna um were against the the comp grant, the comps grant, whereas for me um I was in support of it and I continue to be in support of it because if we don't have if we're giving an opp if we're given an opportunity to help our schools um our students be safe on our campuses, then that's a priority. Um and we all know we all come from different backgrounds. Um, we all know and understand and should at some point relay the information like like Juan was saying being being pointed out or something like that is

not something that we want and those things should be skared on sites because it does take an effect on our students um and those individuals that have the authority to um be in the positions to um monitor or to um move forward in those in in in times when there's need. So, policies um plans, all of those things should really be looked at and and and um making make sure that um our students do feel safe. But um as I said, I continue to support the cops grant. >> President Bundia, members of the board, um and also members of the community. Um first of all, I want to thank you uh uh for all the information and all of the different point of views. Um as you know um our school systems um unfortunately they're

not the same schools that we attended and the issues that we're facing they're completely different that facing uh currently are different than the ones we face. Um when it comes to keeping the school safe um I think it's all of us's responsibility. It's the schools, it is a community, it is the parents, it is the the nation as a whole. um and and to making sure that we going to do everything that we can possibly can. Uh but also we need to keep it uh keep it balanced. Um we do not want to um mil milit milit I cannot say militarize um our our schools. Um and I I will not be in support of that. Um I want to acknowledge that um we will do what we can and we will be more than

happy to answer any ongoing questions to any family members because on cases like this we got we will have both sides and both of them is important to be acknowledged and and heard. Um and and when it comes to our our next steps um this is additional public funding that is free um that is coming our way and and yes they play they they will pay for the hardware. we still need to pay for the installation of of that equipment. Um and and as we continue to make these changes, we'll be more than happy to also provide any additional support. Um just like last time, um I'll be more than happy to you were part of of our meetings that we held in in different parts um the weekend and and and and provided um

in in person and also virtual for any questions that they may have. Um the unfortunately yes we did have um u one incident um that is also giving us the opportunity what else can we do uh to be able to streamline to be able to say are we doing everything we can but also I want to invite the parents u it's uh the same way that we're going to try to do everything we can parents are we are they doing everything they can to ensure that the school the students come ready they come on time but they also didn't bring items that they're not supposed to that the nation is also in support of providing and reminding the community and reinforce um that we our schools is a safe haven for our students and for

our staff and every effort and and we when we combine those effort um at the end we're going to have a much better community a much better school and a much better nation. Is there so this is and sorry this is a question that I feel like maybe and I want to make sure you mentioned that this is just hardware what is the cost for installation do we get to look at that do we get to see what that cost might be and what was it in the past grants because I know the last grants were the same thing weren't they just paying for certain equipment what have we actually expended in order to make this happen that's that's the first question second question um I would feel much better and I don't want this

to turn into a nonapproval. And I I'm only saying that because I'm just just I want this to be fully supported. I'm I'm asking right now if we can table this item and I don't know if there's a timeline on this but if there is then then should have brought it sooner but if not then uh but if we can then I would ask to bring it back in next month but also to see what we've done so far with the cops grant what we've actually can be able to see as far as a report so far and everything that we've done what's been installed where it's at how it looks how it's operating schools operating. But I also want to ask, are these intended as far as weapon handheld weapons detectors for all the

schools? I know there was a comment about, well, there should be metal detectors to all the schools. Now, whether you're going to do that or not, because you wouldn't know whether a student has anything in them or on them at all unless they actually have it. Does that mean each school is going to have someone standing there with the wand waving at all the kids so that we know yes or no? or how is that going to how is that going to lay um pan out? Um so I I mean are we going to be waving handheld weapons detectors at little preschool kids or all the way up to high school or is there a specific actual site that we're looking at when it comes to these types of um uh recommendations or grants? I

know I know the cameras are at every school site. So that's that's where my questions are. So right now my my my um comment I guess is to to table until we can kind of hear some more. >> Good evening board. So we received the notification that we were we got the award in October but uh we have to approve we have to let the government know that we want it by November 14th. since this meeting was moved back and we haven't had a meeting in between. So, it's either I think it's either now or we don't do it and that's up to you. I'm just letting you know that November 14th is the deadline for us. Uh the first the first cop's grant was spent on the cameras and if I mean I can

send you the what we paid. So for that one the second grant has not been spent yet. It is for the control access doors I believe the exterior access which it couldn't pay for the full amount. So, this second grant's going to finish some of the exterior door access and like the two-way radios so that everybody can have a radio that more people on campuses can have radios so they can radio to the office. Um, the schoolwide communications equipment that's like intercoms. I know when I was at secondary, we would call a hold and secure and people in the gym couldn't hear it. So, you had to send some a runner down there to tell them that it's a hold and secure. So, this would get that equipment up and running. Um, as far as

the school panic buttons, that's something that if I have an emergency in my classroom, I can hit the button. I don't have to have run to a phone to try to make a phone call. I can hit a button, it will call the office, and it will call the emergency line. And something because if something happens right away and you don't have any anybody nearby, I mean time is yeah of the essence. So uh this is this this this particular grant isn't about the securities as much as it is about safety and safety measures for teachers and administrators really. So >> thank you. Um, with hearing that the deadline is in a few days, I would like to make a motion to approve the um, 2025 school violence prevention program grant. >> Have a motion

by Miss Kathleen Vance. >> Second by Miss Henry Stevens. >> No. >> Thank you. Thank you. Motion passes. Number four is the discussion and possible approval of the consideration of award for IFB25-11-30 HVAC plumbing, electrical services and supplies. Uh Mr. Dard um this is for a um an award. Um also receive that um we had the bidding u and now we need to award the bid um and this is for um HVAC services, electrical service and plumbing services. The recommendation is for um these vendors and also the alternate vendors in the event that the first uh award is given the second one uh and and not accepted and then we have the alternates for second and third. Um the actual um recommendation is for the governing board uh to award um the IFB251130 um on

call for H5 plumbing, electrical services and plumbing um um as as follow uh which is HPAC for total mechanic uh as a primary uh so electric for second and Marsden uh DBA um sun state for third for electrical services shadow Mountain Electricity for as a primary, Atlantic Standard Pacific for the second uh Sovereign Electric uh for the third, plumbing Atlantic Standard Pacific as a primary. Um Marsden DBA Sun State for second and to authorize the district administration to execute contracts, issue purchases orders and review annual subjects to budget capacity and vendor performance. Questions? recommend that the governing board award if 2530 11:30 on call HVAC plumbing HVAC electrical services and supplies. So this would an approval what I'm I was trying to follow along but to mechanical sovereign electric Marsden sun state shadow mound electric

Atlantic standard Pacific and sovereign electric so as needed it will go shadow mound electric Atlantic standard and then sovereign electric is that what I'm understanding Mr. You are you are [clears throat] correct. So HVAC would be tolling, >> electric would be shadow mountain and plumbing would be Atlantic standard. >> Okay. >> And then those are just backups as in >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> And a lot of this is just to get us better pricing because we're out in the middle. >> Okay. >> Of nowhere. I keep hearing from everybody else, but we're still here. So, [laughter] >> thank you, sir. All right. Motion to approve as recommended. >> Second by Miss Kathleen >> Vance. >> Thank you so much. Motion carries. Uh discussion and possible approval of an additional custodian position at Indian

Oasis Primary Campus. If there are no questions, I'd like to approve. Is there a second? >> Second by Miss Kathleen Vance. >> Thank you. Number six is a discussion and possible approval of the barbecue of vasc 2627 and 2728 school calendars. Mr. D is anything to note quickly otherwise I'll motion to approve. Is there >> the the only note president and and members of the board um is that there is um a note that rodeo will be subject to change depending on when the nation chooses. But alth other other than that we're following up on on the same uh procedure as two years ago. We want to approve two years in advance so we can begin the planning. >> Okay. Anything from the board? If not, a motion to approve. >> Second by Miss Kathleen

>> Vance. Motion carries. Number seven, I believe is to address that spec that very thing. I noted that the U rode on fair move to the actual first weekend in February. So board members, unless there's any uh questions, a motion to approve to move the um date in 2526 school year. Is there a second? >> Second by Miss B. Sorry, Miss Stevens. >> So just to note those days off are now the 6th and the 9th. February. Yes. Okay. Thank you. >> [sighs and gasps] >> Number eight is discussion and possible approval of ratification of the October 26, 2025 regular board meeting in accordance with ARS 38-431- I'm sorry 05B governing board members this is just acknowledging that we need the regular board meeting title to special board meeting right Mr. That is Sabala both.

Okay. A motion to approve. >> Second by Miss Stevens. >> Motion carries. Next item is the discussion and possible approval of board meeting date changes for December, January, and February 2020 20 December 2025. January and February 2026. Was the recommend recommendations? >> Mr. Zabella. Usually Mondays work for me a lot better. Usually don't travel on a Monday. >> Monday. >> That's fine with me. >> Can we move those to Monday? So you want to do >> 9th. >> That's fine. Isn't there something in February? >> No, I don't know. >> The 16th. >> Oh, the 16th. Okay. >> The 16th is president's day. >> Okay, that's fine. Um, if the dates are good with you all, a motion to approve with those dates. >> February, >> the 9th, February 9th. >> Huh? >> February 9th,

0972026, January 12th, 2026, and December 8th, 2025. Uh, President Wendy. Yes, sir. >> Um, I did ask uh Miss Vay Lewis to check our leadership calendar to make sure that we don't have anything else that may conflict in everything else in the operation of the district. Uh, does it look clear? Okay. And then we're good to go. Motion to approve. Is there a second? >> Second by Miss Stevens. >> Motion. >> Thank you. New number 10 is the board goals. Mr. Diaz, >> President Muria, members of the board, um based on the board evaluation, um there was um a survey that evaluation that was completed and based on on the scores. Um it was a task um to develop some goals based on on on the areas that the governing board um need to uh

look into for possible growth. And based on those goals, there were a couple of uh suggestions for the review for the governing board um to be able to add or make changes. Um let me see if I can pull it up. The first goal is that the governing board members uh will make every effort to become acquainted with the personnel of the district. Um the board uh um score was 50%. And this goal is also aligned with our um our goals for the district our uh our district uh improvement plan not improve our strategic plan and a couple of actions um recommended for the governing board is to attend the new teacher induction to attend the Friday's professional development um and and and be part of it attend community days event attend district kickoff event

the second goal um was the governing board makes every effort to keep informed about the instructional program by providing uh for periodic reports as deemed necessary and by periodic visitation in the schools. uh that was also scored by the governing board 50% and by um adopting this goal or working in this goal you'll be also working on our strategic plan goal one performance goal three instructional practices um and some of the recommendations are schedule to attend um and to schedule and attend retreats to schedule and attend classroom visits schedule and attend Friday's professional developments um attend briefings review materials and ask questions questions. Um the next goal is the governing board attempt to gain information from community pertaining to instructional programs needs. Um the current um score was a 75%. By adopting this goal um

you will be also working and supporting our district and strategic plan goal three.9 connecting and and goal four support support and challenge. Some of the activities recommended include attend community days, attend parent workshops, attend parent advisory advisory meetings, attend award assemblies, schedule and attend parent meetings. Uh the next one is um governing board maintains policies necessary to um enable the educational staff to develop the educational program required to meet the needs of the community. Um the score was a 75%. By adopting this goal, you're also supporting the following um goals for the our strategic plan. Goal one, proficiency. Goal two, attendance. Goal three, instructional practices. Goal four, supporting challenge. And this this will include review policy. Make recommendations based on policy. Schedule policy reviews study session and attend ASBA policy workshops. Comments, questions, changes, suggestions

are welcome. I just I wonder I don't think we all really got a chance to sit down and actually look at the survey the report. So I don't know you guys did we really do >> I think I'm pretty upfront about like some my why I can't attend. You know I we all have our own jobs. We all have things going on. And for me, attending a lot of these things is hard because I travel a lot of times, but it also it's I do have to put in leave and I do have to put in I don't um have the flexibility to attend a lot of these things. I would like to um what I do try to make sure that I am available for is what I'm there for. And if I can,

I'm definitely upfront about it. Okay. It's the same. It's the same for me. >> No, I mean I agree. >> We're trying to do what we can to be at places and things come up or you know it just doesn't work out. But it doesn't mean that we don't fully support especially like I really wanted to be at the spooky night um at the intermediate I mean at the primary school and um I I just couldn't be there. So my but I was really looking forward and I was telling my daughter go you need to go because I can't go so >> and um she did and she took the little ones with her. I was glad that they went. I'm glad we did come up with those goals though, so that way we can

kind of try to get to some of these activities and to be a part of it. And >> yeah. Okay. Mas President if you want to table it as well. Um that way you have a chance to review my recommendations and bring it back. Um that way you have the opportunity if there's this is uh thinking to generate more thinking and based on other ways that you might be able to support that you may want to add it. Um they're welcome as well. >> Uh motion to table. Is there a second? >> Nobody wants table. Do you want to approve it? Second by Miss Stevens. >> Number 11 this evening is the action item uh approving extra duty for Miss Rosa Buendia. And of course um due to conflict of interest I will not be

voting for this item. Um I leave it to y'all. >> Motion to approve. Motion by Miss Anime Stevens. Okay. >> Second by Miss >> Kathleen Botath. >> Motion carries. Thank you so much. Uh under letter G is our consent agenda. Without objection, a motion to approve. Is there a second? >> Second by Miss Kathleen >> B. >> Thank you so much. Uh we're probably going to jump into a little bit more. So, if you are done for the evening, thank you all so much for joining us. >> Thank you all. Get some food. >> Get some food. >> It's a Thanksgiving theme, so please get some food. >> I have an item for H that I would like to ask. Um, given the approval of the cops grant, I would like some information presented if

possible. And again, I I fully want to I I will fully support the board's decision. I just want to make sure that we're also um looking at um not only what the benefits have been so far and what we purchased, what's been installed um but also just more or less um you know where it all stands, Mr. Diaz, if you know what I mean. If we can and it doesn't even have to be anything like too detailed. Um, I guess just a generaliz generalized like report. Uh, and >> and go ahead, Miss Stevens. >> I was going to say and also can that like information be sent out to the community so that they have that information available to them. um >> yeah, that's what I was going to um request for the future agenda

items is what you requested that that that information come back in the report on what that first grant was spent on. How has it helped? Um, is there instances where um where is there documentation of um where it was really it really came in handy and and and how much better our schools are because of those cameras and because of everything. um if if there's any kind of um reporting of instances where um >> I think it's important to look at if we didn't have these types of >> Yeah. but also um like was mentioned with um overreacting um or being labeled or things like that if there's any kind of reporting of doc documentation like that too. So, the pros and cons of that first uh grant and then I I know we said

that the second one hasn't been spent yet or they need additional funding to continue with that second grant. um what was actually if there was any spending of that second grant then what it you know so in detail I guess a report because basically we're doing going into the third one and we don't really know how the first and second one is >> also um I think in ask finding out if data is being reported to the agency that's funding this and like what information is being shared >> [cough] >> I think that the board and the community would be very very much um interested in because I know um uh it was presented by our uh or at least discussed a little bit by our grant federal grants director but that there there was

a there was a different way it was it was explained to me how that uh panic button was going to be um was going to operate. which I think is really cool. Uh it's cool to say the least, but but I think it's it's it's it's advantageous and it's innovative. Um, again, I I don't want there to be this misconception that I am trying to be, you know, difficult, but I think it's important that there's there's a representation of things that Miss Anna had brought up and that there is a level of of scrutiny that I feel like we're already under so much that there needs to be at least some some representation of those that, you know, feel differently. Um, but I but I 100% support what the board has has decided to move

forward with and I'm excited to see the information. But I really want to be able to say we we took the time and effort to make sure and we do. We always have. So I don't think that we're not doing anything wrong or right. But I'm excited to hear not only that, but the you be able to have that ready to go should there ever be a question like what what do you guys do? Boom. You know what? We already had this whole presentation and here's what it is so far. Okay. >> Excellent. Also, um Oh, go ahead, Reuben. But I did want to uh add something to the future request, not on this, but something else. >> You know, what do you guys think? >> I think uh we want the information uh to

for we want the public to know. So, um, whether it's at a board meeting, I mean, when we have a lot of, uh, people online, [laughter] but we also want to probably do something to get it out to the like the public like Adam Marie was saying, >> Miss Spence, >> um, for the future uh, agenda items, you know, I really would like to see, and I don't know, maybe it did happen and and we just didn't see it or I didn't see it, but was the celebration of the secondary site being a B school now because when we looked at the video, we saw how much of an impact that B standing was at the intermediate school. I want those students at the secondary site to have the same reaction knowing that their school

is a B school now. And hopefully it'll um you know help them to uh be more motivated and continue to moving forward in that manner because I know with the South District community when I did the presentation I did hear you say that but I wanted them to hear that while I was there that you know we've come from an F schools to a B and C schools and even with the um um Indian oasis that they maintain their sea level. Um so I also would like to see a celebration there that you know they're going to move forward but they maintain that sea and that's good. Um so the primary they don't get a um a letter. >> Great question. Uh we have two schools that they're not rated because uh um the middle

school for the accelerated uh there is statistically insignificant. So they're not rated for that middle school and the primary uh they don't get rated as well because they don't have uh two grade levels to demonstrate the growth. Um we can the the best way that I can describe it is that they don't have two grade levels. Um but it is the growth it intermediate is the foundation and the work that they have done. Um can they go under performance? Absolutely. As you know they they could be a school of improvement or not. Um and but they they don't get a letter grade. >> Okay. Thank you. Yeah. I was I was trying to remember and I was thinking but I remember when they did come out of the um just school improvement. >> Yeah, I

remember when they when they did come out. >> Oh, last year. >> Wait, Miss >> I was going to say I like Kathy's idea of like the celebration. I think even leading up to a celebration, getting students hyped up, sharing like that this is important, why it's important, um like doing something as school spirit to lead up to the celebration would be a really great event. >> Yeah, I think we I think I have my own opinions as well because I saw all of the other schools districts putting up, oh, our schools, you know, like they were doing a lot of really heavy like media and it's impressive. It's good. But I do still I I understand where the feeling may be that it's like it's like um I don't know. You know how when

you're down so long and then you just kind of feel like well you don't really want to put anything on it that you got Yeah. that you're cut up. So you just kind of like roll with it. But I but I but I also feel like this is such a thing for us to stand on to say look it and and be really truly like give it what it deserves and our students above all our staff and everyone else that plays a part as small as just emptying the trash. Contribute to that entire effort. And I would even say like a c a c celebration just for your staff because I feel like they need to be celebrated for all their efforts that they put into it. >> Go ahead. [laughter] >> And I just

want to say that you know with the nation's um rodeo and fair coming up. I think that would be a great opportunity for all sites and uh to get together on one one float or one entry and and show our pride and appreciation and all of that for those >> and and like you said even the um the primary school they're setting that foundation so that when those kids move here they're part of that bee process and then you know moving over while they build them here and moving over to the other site that that's also I I would like to see >> because was mentioned that not only are our sites be but is also at a we know we we started >> um raising the bar >> and our students students have accepted

that challenge and that's where that's why they are >> if they were mad which they were [laughter] >> even parents were mad >> for fairness um I did want to be part of the celebrations um I I do because I was not around um the one school that could not wait any longer for me to return of course was intermediate and then went ahead and and celebrated um but yes we are planning the the the make something um and and um it there will be multiple opportunities. Uh but now that I'm back, yes. Um and I you will be getting the invitations once we solidify what those big plans are going to be. Um there will be u huge signs in front of our schools, in front of our district. Um unfortunately, I wanted that

printed and of course a printer had to break down when I needed it the most. Um but is it going to be celebrated? Absolutely. And um this year we're going to I'm going to start the the visits in all of the districts um to celebrate the highlights of the year. Guess what are some of the things that we're going to be celebrating? We're going to be celebrating not only this our our financial report accomplishments that needs to be celebrated, the attendance that needs to be celebrated, the amount of free funding that we have received in multiple agencies that need to be celebrated. Um there's a lot that we need to celebrate. Um, this is our year. Um, and and and the the community deserve the good news. There's always going to be something going on,

but nevertheless, I don't want to lose track of the accomplishment. I think I I keep informed in the last month of the ongoing celebrations and accomplishments that we have been notified that it's been a great month. Um, um, I I want to acknowledge all the celebrations, make the the recognition um, and you will be part of it as well. um but balance it and also reminded if we can do this, we still have a lot of work to do. Let's work now harder to be able to accomplish. Um but yes, um the now that I'm back, um you can count that we will celebrate this. >> I don't mean to hijack it, but Miraa, Maine is one of the majorly attended places. Amazing to just have, >> you know, real celebration, too. It's coming up.

Oh my gosh. Three weeks. Anyway, awesome. Thank you for for for hearing and and for supporting some of the requests for future gen. Miss Stevens, >> can you also share like when was the last time we any of the schools were beef status? >> Never been >> never >> Yeah, I was looking at the history too. >> How many how >> how long has it been since we've been uh ever achieved being a B status? >> And he said never. >> Um Mr. Zabala, you've been here longer than I have been. What? What were we just F and D? D and F. C. >> We were uh S >> and then F. >> Yeah. School improvement. You know, I think about it, you know, focusing on >> and it's the first time um as a

as an LEA and as a district that we've been a B school. So congratulations >> as a what? >> Huh? >> What's that mean? >> The um as a district, the LEA, the local educational agency, this is the first time that as a district we are a B. So congratulations. >> Go get us that golden bell at ASBA. [laughter] >> In three years. It took us three years. >> It's so cool. I'm so excited. I'm so grateful. Thank you. Um, thank you again board for hearing and and supporting the future agenda items. If there's nothing else, motion to Oh, Mr. Mr. Zabala conference coming up in December. Monday is the HRC attendance meeting. Tuesday 18th is going to start celebrations. We're start off with St. Lucy district, but on top of that, we got make

sure program >> and then Saturday. >> Oh, >> and those are all on the calendar. >> Yes. >> So, it's going to be coming pretty fast. December, >> the 18th would be from [snorts] >> you know they can't leave until after >> you know the the problem with the with the legislative meetings um oversight meetings is that they schedule you for a certain time, but then they're they're never really on time. And and yet, like like Anna Marie had mentioned or Juan mentioned, we have to ask for leave um prior to and it just kind of like it's it's really hard to get to the to the uh oversight committee meetings. So, but that that one is going to be virtually. >> They're all virtually. >> But you still sit there all day and wait.

>> I thought that you were actually going to somewhere. >> Not that all the ones I have had, they've been virtual. >> Okay. So, do you do you are you here when Okay. So maybe that well again they say nine o'clock or two o'clock 10 o'clock whatever but it's never really that time and yet I have to clock out and clock back in. >> I I usually get maybe a 10-minute warning um if you want to be on call to see if that allows you. So you don't ask for the whole day and and the meeting last about an hour um depending on the amount of questions that they may have. Um, but yes, I I have to cancel everything that day. Uh, and and and I'm on call and at that point whenever they

ask me, then that's kind of rushing. >> Yeah, we have to play it by ear then. Just let us know. Uh, what about the vacancy? Do we need to do anything, Ben? I saw something about we can recommend or the board can or is that just going to go through their their process? >> Okay. >> I put the applications contact. >> I just saw in here that it says the board may submit up to three names to the county for consideration. However, superintendent may not is not required to appoint from that list. So, I just I just didn't know if we needed to do anything. If not, then we'll just leave it with him. Uh, which applications are due by Tuesday, December 3rd. Okay. I just wonder just because I know we need support and

and I know with Miss Sylvia not here in >> Okay. Hopefully sooner the better cuz I might get sick. Just kidding. I'm just out. [laughter] >> I'm just teasing. All right. A motion to approve. Is there a second? I mean, sorry. Ajourn. [laughter] >> Second by Miss Vance. >> All those in favor. >> 8:17 p.m. We are journ. Thank you. I know. Let's begin with
