I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all. >> Miss Ipsson >> she is currently on a community engagement and hopes to get here later. Miss Pritchard >> here. >> Mr. Sabzac >> present. >> Mr. Pagney, >> he is uh in North Carolina and a celebration of life or family member. >> Miss Jacobs >> here. >> Miss Dixon >> here. Miss Carol >> here. >> We have five members present. We have a quorum. I'll begin with a statement. Bullying, harassment, racism, sexism, and hate speech have no place in Community High School District 117. Community High School District 117 is committed to creating a rich, equitable, and respectful learning environment for all. We believe in our

mission statement, which is ignite passion and discovery in every student. We will continue to develop ways to extend the thinking, learning, and opportunities for all of our students, our staff, and families. To that end, it is critically important that we are explicit in stating that bullying, harassment, racism, sexism, and hate speech of any of all kinds are not acceptable and have no place in our district. Please work with us to discourage, report and address these hurtful behaviors. Next item on our agenda is public comments. The opportunity to speak to the board is provided for members of the public who have a commit comment to make about the business of the board. The board appreciates hearing from stakeholders and values your thoughts and questions. The board strives to make the best decisions for the district and

public input is very helpful. The board must protect the civility and decorum of this meeting. Please be respectful of the duties of the board and dem and the democratic process in your comments tonight. Please state your name and address and address your comments to the board. Please limit your comments to three minutes and please be factual and courteous and the board requests that you not make statements that are personally disrespectful or condescending to members of the board or to staff to the extent that there may be multiple speakers addressing a single issue. I reserve the right to limit the number of speakers making public comment of repetitive nature andor limit the amount of time for public comment. The board does not respond to comments or attempt to answer any questions during the public comment period.

Would anyone care to make any public comments? None. Okay. So, the next item on our agenda is the consent agenda. All items listed under the consent agenda adopted by one motion unless a member of the board or the superintendent request that an item be removed and voted upon separately. Cons. Agenda items are matters that the board and the superintendent agree are routine and of in nature and should be voted on in one motion to conserve time. The items on tonight's consent agenda include the following. The approval of the regular and close session meeting minutes from June 18, 2025. Under personnel would be the hiring of administrators also certified staff also non-certified staff long-term substitute staff also would be the hiring of increment positions also volunteer positions and substitute teachers. Also on consent agenda would be

resignations, separations of employment. Under the uh business office would be the approval of bills and payroll that are routine under funds 10, 20, 40, 50 and 80. And also under the consent agenda would be foyer requests which there was one and it was responded to would the superintendent or any board members like anything removed from the consent agenda prior to approval? >> I think that yeahirect Thank you. >> Okay. If there is nothing that uh no one wants anything removed, then I will entertain a motion that we approve the consent agenda as presented. >> We have a motion by Miss Dixon. >> Second by Miss Carol. >> I'll go with that. >> Pardon. >> We'll do a roll call vote. Start with Miss Pritchard. >> Yes. Miss Jacobs, yes. >> Miss Dixon, >> yes. >>

Miss Carol, yes. >> Wayne Side, vote yes. That motion passes. >> All right. Now I go to the business office. >> I want to thank Chris Mel who's going to step in and take the business office items on her family trip. So take us away, Chris. >> Yeah, absolutely. The first one uh is the second reading of the uh Witson's food service contract extension. Uh this second reading and recommendation tonight comes after if you remember at the June meeting uh we went over the economic cost outlook that was presented um and they gave some different pricing scenarios of three, four, five and 7% increases. Uh since then Miss Herren went back and she actually spoke with Witson senior VP of operations because she wasn't happy with some of the data that she had received in

the form that she got it. Um and she clarified some discrepancies between those June estimates and what the invoices we received as the fiscal year wrapped up for 2425. Um she then shared those updates and better projections in her uh board update that you received July 3rd. Um our final figures for 2024 25 show a $40,000 deficit. So in order to meet that deficit, a 7% increase would be u needed to break even. However, we are recommending just a modest 3% increase to help offset those costs. um just to limit what the impact on families would be. So there were no uh seeen as there were no questions following that July 3rd update for Miss Heron or Dr. Fo, it is recommended to approve the Witson's food service contract extension uh for the 2526 school

year and approve the food print price increase as presented. With that recommendation from the business office, I would entertain a motion that we approve the Witson's food service contract extension for the 2025 2026 school year and approve the food price increases as presented. >> Motion by Miss Jacobs. >> Second by Miss Pritchard. Any questions or discussion? >> Quick question because I wasn't here. Is this our first new name? >> Yes. >> So all the folks that we deal with in the roles are exactly the same. >> Okay. I was worried that we let a whole bunch of people go. >> No. Okay. >> All the phases and names are the same. >> But but it is a different company, right? >> Uh I don't know exactly what the what the merger or if it was

just a name change, but as far as as far as we know in operations exists, it's the same people doing the same roles. >> Okay. And just another question. >> Yep. >> There was going to be a $40,000 deficit if we went >> there. There was for the end of fiscal year. >> Okay. So the deficit will be approximately what? >> Um, you know, we're we're projecting that that a 3% increase would probably cut that in about half, but it's always tough to tell because of projections over the course of the year for food prices and then what sells as well for the year. Student tastes, you know, tend to vary a little bit. So maybe 18 to 25,000. >> Yeah, that would be my guess. 20 was the number in my head. >> Okay.

Other questions or comments by board members? If not, we'll do a roll call for Miss Jacobs. >> Yes. Dixon. >> Yes. >> Miss Carol, >> yes. >> Miss Pritchard, >> yes. >> Wayne, stop. Sec. That motion passes. >> The uh next item from the business office is just a capital projects update. Uh Arian, but the sheet that you're used to seeing with some of what the amounts that we'll owe over the fiscal year of what's been paid out. Uh being so early in the in the fiscal year, really there's not a ton in there. So, I uh Jeff and I actually walked around with Kennel, our facilities manager today. Just the summer's a fun time seeing kind of all the work that's going on in these buildings as our students are gone. We walked through

lakes. Uh the highlight being Jeff and I were on the roof today. Um taking a look at all the roof work that's been done. They were they're really flying along. We've had some pretty good weather. Ken's doing a great job, I think, managing that. We walked through the first floor. The new deans area is I would say over halfway done. Um, and then where the deans were previously at Lakes High School is going to turn into a walk-in counseling center. So, they've kind of expanded some of those offices, moved some walls around so that that that'll be a better space for students. Um, and then on the lower level, we walked through, we actually saw Ben Tommpkins in there. They where our big printer is that we do a lot of projects on, they put

a wall in there to separate it from the CT classroom so there'll be less noise for kids during during the day if that machine running. Um, so while the numbers aren't, you know, a ton to look at, I think as you as you walk through our buildings or you see the cranes outside, you can tell that there's a lot going in in all the buildings. Even as you walk in here today, you can see the furniture's been moved out, so those crews are cleaning and doing things. Yeah. Yeah. They're flying along. And Ken says everything's going very well. Um, he did mention that there may be a couple change orders coming for some of that roof work, but I think the allotment that was put in there was over 100,000, 115,000 to be exact. And

the the They're going to change on those orders if you repeat out what he's predicting. So well within the range. >> Thank you. >> Yep. Moving on the agenda, we go to governance. We have an approval of a date change for September board meeting. >> Yeah. So this September board meeting is that Thursday is the big Antioch homecoming. So it's the night of the homecoming parade and the bonfire. and we would really love to board meeting a day early on Wednesday if it works schedule. So I would ask that the board take a recommendation to move that board meeting one day. So what we're looking at is instead of the 18th of September to the 17th if that works with everyone scheduled. We've done this before because of the way that the homecoming situation is

scheduled here. There's always a Thursday parade and our board met fell on that same Thursday. >> And I apologize that we didn't have this when we made the calendar on that, but we picked the homecoming game after the football schedule is finalized. >> So with that recommendation, I would entertain a motion that we approve the change of the board of education meeting from September 18th, 2025 to September 17th, 2025 to accommodate all the homecoming festivities. >> Have a motion. Second >> by Miss Carol, second by Miss Pritchard. Questions or discussion? >> Seeing none, we'll do a roll call vote beginning with Miss Dixon. >> Yes. >> Miss Carol. >> Yes. >> M Pritchard. >> Yes. >> Miss Jacobs. >> Yes. >> Wait. Stop. F chest. That motion passes. >> Thank you. I can take this

next one as well. This is the second year in a row we've done this intergovernmental agreement. It's kind of a neat partnership with our partner districts. We received CO uh grant dollars that we used to fund this liaison originally and those grant dollars went away. So now we fund it locally by sharing the cost. So you see in the attachment that we pay a little more because we have more students than all of our K8 center district. So for $2,000 contribution and then the contributions for our K8 centers, we're able to hire a local person part-time to be a direct leazison to our students who are unhoused in our community, which is a really neat service. uh we don't have a lot of students in that situation but we have some every year and the

students in that situation are usually uh pretty tough circumstances and they're not necessarily aware the resources available to them. So that's what this is on. So ask for recommendation for the board to consider approving this IGA between ourselves and our other partner K8 center districts. So with that recommendation, I would attend that I would entertain a motion that we approve the intergovernmental agreement between Antioch Community High School, Antioch Consolidated Grade School District 1 District 34, Community High School District 117, Lake Villa Community Consolidated District 41, Milbour Consolidated District 24, and Emmens uh School District 33. >> Have a motion by Miss Dixie. Second by Miss Jacobs. Questions or comments? >> Nope. Nothing. All right. Do a roll call vote beginning with Miss Carol? >> Yes. >> Miss Pritchard? >> Yes. >> Miss Jacobs? Yes. Miss

Dixon? >> Yes. >> Wayne Southside V. Yes. That motion passes. I can take the next one as well. Is our annual approval of appointment of officers. These are people that we need specific people named uh so the public knows who to contact in these specific situations and see our updates made with some of our new team members that we'll welcome later. So, I would ask for or I recommend that the board approve these updated officers for the upcoming 25 26 school year. With that recommendation, I would entertain a motion that the board approve the appointment of the officers as presented. >> Motion by Miss Prard, second by Miss Jacobs. And questions or comments? >> I don't have a question or comment, but maybe Dr. For can. new members just explain briefly what these appointments are

for. Yes, sir. So, a homeless liaison, we're required to have a homeless liaison at each school uh to advocate and identify students who are in these situations. Suspension appeals are, as you know, when we suspend students, there's a notification process and they have the right to appeal. These are there's multiple people here because depending on which school the students at, we might have someone at their school supervise that first appeal. This would be comes to the school board for a final appeal. Uh sexual harassment, civil rights, discrimination violations. We have a uniform grievance procedure that assigns uh a process where we appoint a complaint manager that writes a report and then they write a decision letter that ultimately comes to me. I make a decision and if the person needs to appeal a complaint or

a harassment complaint, uh that could eventually come to the board. But the first step is we have to assign a complaint manager. So we have mult people that could qualify depending on what school the situation is. The next one is official records custodian. So this is the person when we receive requests for student records. Obviously there's only certain legal circumstances under that we can comply with those requests to give records. So Miss Selfmaker is our person in charge of making those decisions and recommendations and foy person for the public. And then finally I'm sorry not finally foy officers when we receive uh fre from the public or vendors is more common in our situation recently, but these are all people that can reply based on the type of foyer request it is. Concussion oversight team

is going to be led by Chris Malik this year. Thank you, Chris. This is required in school code to meet once per year, make sure we're following our concussion protocols. Obviously, we want to keep our student athletes safe and uh that is all >> good. And the reason I asked Dr. to explain that especially for members because we forget about this and sometimes during the course of the year if something like this occurs sexual harassment or something like that the the group that is looking into it is not just randomly chosen after the complaint they are in place at the beginning of the school year and the same folks in those positions throughout that school year we reappoint every school year so it's not just okay they're going to pick who they want >> because

of who that person is, no matter what it is, right? Just I just want to make sure everybody understood that. >> So with that, if there's no other questions or comments, we'll do a roll call vote beginning with Miss Pritchard. >> Yes. >> Miss Jacobs, Miss Dixon, >> yes. >> Miss Carol, >> stop the chest. That motion passes. Take the next one as well. All right. This is the second reading for press policy 118. Uh once again, thank you to Linda and Sue for helping us do that deep dive and helping me lead that discussion for our first reading which we had in June. So if there's no new discussion after that first reading, I would ask the board to accept my recommendation that we approve press policy 118 policy updates. With that recommendation, I

would entertain a motion that the board approve the second reading of press policy 118, which includes 24 updates to review and um monitoring updates as well. Motion by Miss Dixon. >> Second by Miss Jacobs. Any questions? >> Hearing none. Do a roll call vote beginning with Miss Jacobs? >> Yes. >> Miss Dixon? >> Yes. >> Miss Carol? >> Yes. >> Miss Pritchard? >> Yes. >> Southside for chess. That motion passes. >> I'd like to take the next one and give it to Chris. Yeah. Um this is the first reading of the annual review of our administrative salary and benefits document. Um this is covering our administrators who aren't part of the collective bargain group. Um but we would like to have something in place. This was first written in 1996 and it was re reviewed

periodically after that. Um with our new board calendar, it seems like July is a nice place where we could start to do this annually. Um doing it annually gives us the opportunity to keep up with any administrative title changes um paid holidays and then make sure that uh workday calendars also are accurate as that sometimes adjusts by a day or two. Um the other key update which you probably saw me push out an update through uh diligent email is we never had it memorialized anywhere that the board pays 100% of 12 month administrators employee contributions for TRS or IMRF. So that is now written there. So it a good practice of we we have done these things for years but we we need to have it written down somewhere go forward with that. Um we

also cleaned up some of the formatting so it's a little bit easier and if things were to change obviously we go back and make make sure that we're doing that it's easy to read. Um being a first reading only tonight no action but I would welcome any feedback and then I will bring back next month for a final version. >> Thank you. Any questions today about that from Mr. Okay. The next item is approval of overnight field trips. >> Yes, sir. Uh so since the June board meeting, only one came across my desk. Um and it is a field trip that students go down to ISU with Illinois State. Um our theater production students go to this uh field trip and um as I do a little bit of research, this is one that they

do annually every year. is a very field trip that our uh district 117 students make. So great opportunity for them and uh recommending that the board approve this request. >> So with your first recommendation, I would entertain that the board approve the overnight field trip for the theater protection class students and the Antioch Thespian Society to Illinois State University to participate in the Illinois High School Theater Festival. The dates are January 8th through 10th, 2026. >> Motion by Miss Dixon. >> Second by Miss Pritchard. Questions, comments. Hearing none. We'll do a roll call vote beginning with Miss Dixon. >> Yes. >> Miss Carol. >> Abstain. Miss Pritchard. >> Yes. >> Miss Jacobs? >> Yes. >> Stopside votes. Yes. Four. Yes. extension. Motion passes. >> Okay, great. >> All the way up to the superintendent. All

right, I'll keep it brief. Uh, I did want to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Ellen Walner and uh, Miss Jaclyn Selfridge HBaker, our new members of our leadership team here at the district office. Uh, Alan and Jackie have hit the ground running here in July. We've already learned a ton from them. We had our big work session, our district leadership team summer retreat was really just working all day for two days at the Lakeville Library and we learned a lot from them already. They're already leading a ton of projects. So, if we can give them a quick round of applause uh and then I'd like to kick it to Ellen just briefly because I usually get to let Jory and Mike speak, but since they are not here, somebody should talk really briefly about

this amazing APA we just got. So, >> so I I want to just first of all say uh thank you for the opportunity to partner with all of you and the board at both schools. It's an honor and we've seen just a great foundation that everyone has built and I know Jackie and I have talked we just look forward to kind of helping support the continuation of that work and so president you were talking about providing a rich and equitable experience for all of our students. Um what we're talking about here today is kind of the manifestation of that. And so, you know, the district has a vision to make sure that students regardless of their background have an opportunity to, you know, have a college level course work, rich levels of rigor and experiences.

And um the AP participation has skyrocketed in recent years. And what we've seen is although the numbers have expanded exponentially, we've continued to see students have high rates of success. And so that's kind of what we want to celebrate a little bit tonight. I want to just say before I I mention a couple of numbers, it really does take a village and it's important to recognize first of all our teachers who when they have a um diverse array of learners in front of them who might be having an AP experience for the first time or might be really challenging themselves in particular for a given year, those teachers are working innovatively and strategically to help students be successful. Their counselors are encouraging them, supporting them when they're getting a snag. their parents or guardians are

supporting them as they, you know, follow their ambitions. And then the people they're recognized most is our students because they're doing the heavy lifting and they're having those rigorous experiences. So, I think it's important to acknowledge them. Um, and then, you know, there um it's also worth noting that we've been able to um close many of our achievement gaps. some of our gaps. There are still gaps that exist, but with our board goals, we've narrowed the gaps um by more than 10% for all of our five metrics that we have. And so that was addressed, I believe, in May before I started. And just really briefly, a couple things to mention. So, think about this. From 2324 to 2425, there were 370 more exams taken by all of our district 117 students. So that's incredible

to think that that many more students were accessing that many more exams and courses. And you think about how many students are having that new experience. They went from 66% in 23 24 to 75% in 25 uh 24 25 in terms of their pass rate. So that's exceptional. the idea that more students are taking these classes and they're continuing to have uh success is really really powerful and impressive. And then in conjunction with that, um sometimes students might challenge themselves and get a one or a two. I know I'm new to the district, but my mindset is that doesn't necessarily mean they don't belong there. Maybe they're benefiting from struggling, but we actually saw fewer ones and twos than we ever have and more threes, fours, and fives. And so we increased the passing scores

in three, fours, and fives from 66% in 2324 to 75% 2425. And then the last thing I'll just mentioned is um if any new AP offerings um are available, we want to give our students a chance to have that opportunity and we had AP pre-calc and 54 students took that exam and they had an 80% pass rate. So just a lot to celebrate really wonderful work by all of our staff and our students. >> Thank you, Ellen. Uh, two more quick things. Uh, I as well want to thank Ken for giving Chris and I a tour of our capital projects. Uh, really great work uh, being done at both schools. A lot more at Lakes obviously just because more heavy lifting over there. But just a thank you to Arian who's not here tonight. Like

tons of planning over the last year and Ken and their whole team have doing great bid work and great planning for those projects. And finally, I want to explain to the thousands and thousands of public who are watching streaming online at home uh why we have two closed sessions tonight. You'll see we have two close sessions. One is our typical one where we go over close session items, but we have a second close session because we do this neat thing every year. I'm so grateful to work for a board that invests the time in what working on themselves as a board governance team as long as my as well as myself as part of that team to uh help us learn how we work together as a team. So, we have with us tonight uh

Miss Laura Martinez from the Illinois Association of School Boards and she comes in every year and leads this workshop with us where we talk about our board protocols and our communication expectations and how we continue to work effectively as a team and all these thousands of people. If you want to watch streaming meetings from other school districts around the state, you'll find that not all school districts do this every year. Uh this board does. So, I want to thank the board for that. >> That's all I have. >> Okay. at this point in the meeting. Any board comments? Any members have anything to say? >> Yes, absolutely. Two things. >> Are you going to do it like that? >> Um, first of all, thank you, Jeff, for highlighting the dates when we have board meetings

that are not the third Thursday because I get lost in all the dates that we have to to sign up for. So, those highlights really help when we get asked you want to do something three months from now and I go yeah sure it's not the third Thursday so then I can find that highlighted so thank you for doing that thing I wanted to mention like being out in the community um I was I'm doing a lot of landscaping and I use this nursery that I always go to have for years and I was talking to the gentleman and um as we were talking he mentioned that he did the land there group did the landscaping for Lakes High School. They do the landscaping here. And I said, "Oh, that's really cool." Because it's a

local company. And I want you to know that he actually drives by to make sure that his bushes and all the okay, which is something that you get from a local, you know, he takes pride in his work. >> And I was saying how nice it looks. And he says, "I drive by there to make sure that everybody's looking okay or everything's looking okay." So I appreciate that we it's SNS landscaping and I appreciate that we have a good relationship with them. He spoke highly of our district and Ken and you know so I just it's it's nice to be out in the community and hear that we are working with local people and that they care about us too. >> Shout out to them to Arian. We don't pick them. >> Well, we do.

But >> yeah, I said to him, I said, "I really should know that, but I don't remember." >> So, there's a That was two. >> Excellent. All right. That's both. >> All right. >> Well, where was everybody the other night at that dinner? >> Oh, I I was meant to go and I had this vertigo issue that I was like I couldn't even get out of bed that day. I felt so bad about that. >> I walked in and I thought, three or four there. Thank you for going. Thank you. >> I was in Chicago. >> That's okay. I knew that everybody was busy, but I did I've never walked into a place before and been the only board member. >> Well, that's good that you were there. >> Thank you. >> They're so nice.

They want to put something to they want to put something in our newsletter, our website about who they are, like who won the scholarships and then who they are. >> And he was a very nice man. Very nice. >> Super nice organization. >> Yeah. >> Anything else or any other board member? >> I I had something I was listening to a podcast whatever the other week and it was about AI and and I and I have a concern about it and I thought this was very interesting. What they were saying is that they were like it's a really good tool to use for research and blah blah blah, but then when it comes to testing, and I know this is probably in the weeds and and I'm not supposed to be there, but I thought

this was a very I thought it was a very interesting comment that they made. They said, but then when it comes to testing, there's no computers, there's no phones, and it's a question, and you actually have to write out an so that you actually know if your kids are learning what they're supposed to be learning. I thought that was very interesting because you know you could use AI and not be learning anything. >> I think Dr. Fo and I had didn't we have this discussion a couple months ago >> like with everybody? Everybody's talking. >> Yeah. >> So it it's obviously out there as a concern for some but I think we have fail safes in place. was talking to say August 14th if you're around we our keynote for all staff is Dr. Saba

Quidway she's amazing she's one lead our AI cohort so she's going to be talking to all of our staff here at Annioch and board members are invited be fascinating so I know this isn't my time to talk but if you want to write down that date it's in the morning >> okay >> and we can talk more about your issue offline >> okay what was it August >> August 14th >> or you can you can resend it >> yeah it'll be in all your board updates you'll see >> okay good >> okay so sorry if that was what everybody's talking about. >> Yeah. I mean, and that's a concern because it's like you don't want to raise people who can't even think for themselves. >> That includes going home and writing your messages or your

your homework assignment, but you're not doing it. >> There was an interesting article. A teacher found a way to do this thing. She had the kids write papers using AI >> and then without using AI, they research and annotate and source and it was a great exercise to show how often AI is incorrect. >> So you can use it as a tool to learn how it's not >> well and and it can also be biased in many different ways. So >> it can write its own sources. >> So yeah interesting. >> Anybody else? Julia the next person. >> No. Okay. With that, we'll go to our first closed session. I would entertain a motion that the board enter into close session for the purpose of discussing discussing the following exceptions to the open meetings act.

The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors in a park, recreational, or educational setting, or specific volunteers of the public body, or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves as an independent contractor in a park, recreational, or educational setting, or a volunteer of the public body, or against legal counsel for the public body. to determine its validity. However, a meeting to consider an increase in compensation to a specific employee of a public body that is subject to the local government wage increase transparency act may not be closed and shall be open to the public and posted and held in accordance with this act which is 5CS120C1. also collective negoti negot negotiation

manners between the public body and its employees or the representatives or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees which is covered under five ILCS 120C2 also student disciplinary cases covered under five ILCS 120C9 also discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed which is under five 2C21. I would entertain that motion. >> Motion by Miss Ethixen. >> Second by Miss Jacobs. I don't presume there's any discussion. I will do a roll call vote. We'll begin with Miss Pritchard. >> Yes. >> Miss Jacobs? >> Yes. >> Miss Dixon? >> Yes. >> Miss Carol? >> Yes. >> Wayne stops votes yes. We will go into our first close session. at 7:30. We're back in open session and we have two action items. The first one, uh, I would entertain a motion that the board

approve the close session minutes from December 5th, 2024 through May 15, 2025 to remain closed as recommended by the superintendent because of need for confidentiality. >> So motion by Miss Dixon, >> second by Miss Carol. Any questions? Roll call vote. Miss Pritchard, >> yes. >> Miss Jacobs, >> yes. >> Miss Dixon, >> yes. >> Miss Carol, >> yes. >> Wayne stops votes. That motion passes. >> Second item. I would recommend I would entertain motion that we approve the recommendation of uh administration to approve the hourly wage adjustment for noncertified support personnel as presented. >> Motion. Motion by Miss Pritchard. >> I'll take the second. >> Okay. >> Miss Jacobs and Miss Pritchard. Motion in a second. Discussion >> hearing none. We'll do a roll call. Miss Jacobs. >> Yes. >> Miss Dixon? >> Yes. >>

Miss Carol? >> Yes. >> Miss Pritchard? >> Yes. >> Wayne Stops Flest. That motion passes. Now, a brief >> governance. >> Uh, yeah. I'll just make an announcement here real quick. You have a paper packet that was in your pile. It's probably already in your bag. It looked like this. >> It's also in your board update digitally. So you can look on the online version as well. If you turn past the letter we got this is for our try eye presentation, Laura. So we have you get to see the beginning of our fun presentations. This is how the magic happens. So we have three script ideas uh that they're very rough and very basic right now. I just kind of fleshed three out with my AI friend. So don't worry Jill, if we pick these

topics, we will make the scripts much longer and much more fun. >> Uh so when our director Pagney returns from his travels, we'll do some script writer meetings while v uh following openings act with two board members at a time and all that. So our three ideas we have right now is the $5 million decision which is about the outsourcing scenario. We got a new one on portrait of a graduate like a radical new idea for how we can support portrait of a graduate that defy tradition and then the landfill deal. So my question for you as you read through these is do you like these topics to flesh out or you like are some of these topics met and you want to go back to the drawing board and pick out new topics. You

don't have to tell me right now but you can look at that over the next couple weeks and then we'll schedule a call to start working on it and we'll talk about it every board meeting now until November. So uh in open session at the end of the meeting we time to talk with the team in August and September and October and November, right? >> And two of the three are real, one is not. >> Yes. >> So, that can be a prize, too. Audience can guess which one. >> We're hoping that they get the wrong answer on all three of them. >> Yes. >> I like them all. >> So, that's it. That's it for that governance. At this point, we are going to go into our second close session. So therefore, I would

entertain a motion that the board enter into close session for the purpose of discussing the following exception to the open meetings act, which is self evaluation of the board of education falls under 5CS120C. >> motion by Miss Jacobs. >> Second by Miss Dixon. Questions? If not, we'll do a roll call beginning with Miss Carol. >> Yes. >> Miss Pritchard. >> Yes. >> Miss Jacobs. Miss Dixon. >> Yes. >> Rain stop. Yes. Motion passes and there will be no action after that close session. Thank you.
