002so much it's so nice to be here i'm sorry it was coming from the five o'clock one um so uh the budget few questions i have regarding on the budget number one um i'm a taxpayer i'm a mom i'm a grandmother and i live in this community now and i'm also a teacher for almost 20 years still teaching but looking at this budget was very hard because number one when you guys were up there on the 28th going over the budget it wasn't anywhere that i could find it when it was presented last time so you didn't have copies i even first posted on the website right it's been posted for 10 years okay but what i'm going to get regarding the website i totally get that and so um when i was looking for
003it on the website um i had brought my email that i said to ms ford and basically said hey i'm trying to get the proposed proposed budget that was presented by kim kimberly on 628 i can't find it on the website meaning i didn't know what you have to keep going through okay and or i couldn't find it in your minutes and i had asked her if she could email me the budget so i could have to be prepared for today and all i got back was hi mrs sterner the information you're looking for is posted on our website i looked on the website i had people surrounding me and i said okay guys where's it at so my thing is it was not easy friendly to view at first okay on there and it
004wasn't even on important update i think this is a huge important update because this is tax dollars money that are paying for this beautiful school and for the kids um going on there if you look at your maintenance and operation expenditures so i'm on that page and i believe this is the right one you have your salary and benefits and it starts 100 regular education and it goes down so i understand that i totally get that in budget but my question is an explanation is what is the upper what does the other represent there's a column there after salaries and budget and you guys have other for a taxpayer parent looking at this i don't know what that means what is other you have in do you want us to respond to that because this
005is a form that the state provides we don't create our own but kimberly can give you that answer of what other means this but these are forms the state provides so we use it you want us to answer the one on the other first okay kimberly so other is a um an account code that is prescribed by the auditor general's office so i can read to you if you give me one second exactly what that definition is um so that you know what 6800 is and it's just labeled other like dr wright explained these forms are directly from the auditor's general's office and so we don't have we can't change or modify anything that is on their um [Music] in that title page where it says other but let me tell you what 6800 but
006the definition of 6800 is if you just give me one second so 6800 is um debt services so that is our bond and our things like that and dues and fees okay and i appreciate thank you um but one thing i guess a key would be nice you know like a legend because a lot of people don't know what that is i mean it's coming from state i understand that but there's one that i just was going to ask for 100 students yeah and it's 222 900. i'm just kind of curious what is that sure so 2100 um is for student support services so let me just give you like an example that would be like a school psychologist that would be people that um do our attendance records things like that okay but that's
007all i'm saying i get you get this from the state i totally understand that i'm just saying for easy friendly for parents community members helping us out with a little bit more detail of what that code is that's going to help parents on the were you here at the budget presentation meeting but it was really quick okay well that that meeting was that's the purpose of that meeting to answer those questions that anybody has we propose the budget there's a breaks it down to a pie chart the different accounts we provide an opportunity for that back and forth but once that's done that that's you know we have to follow the prescribed requirements but that's why you have the hearing now so if there are questions we answer them but i bet to take it
008to address it it is a complicated process and no matter how much time we take it's still hard i'm not saying i'm not being patronizing but it's really difficult for anybody has a financial background to accept what we have to do in the school finance because many times it's different there are a lot of codes and there are a lot of um there's just there's a lot of there are a lot of codes that are used that aren't aren't you can't just read it and understand what that means i i i agree with what you're saying is very nice i just couldn't find it i couldn't find the presentation find it anywhere on your website okay so that's also another thing that would have benefited yes because it's nowhere right and then we are we're
009changing our website we're updating our website because the current one isn't super user friendly but what i'll make in a note is about this time we'll make sure that that information is prominently displayed both the presentation and then once the budget is posted for sure that's good feedback it's just information it helps parents and taxpayers it helps the community understand what you just said the other thing is you guys have your english language learner so on your budget um is it 35 000 that you guys have [Music] i got to pull the budget up so just give me one second i had to quote something else which one are you looking at um i'm in the total expenditure it's by fund the fund and it's under it's just fun and it says maintenance instruction improvement
010english language learner and it says your budgeted was 34 678 but the budget uh that was prior sorry this is budget um for this year are you still on the same page um no you're on a different page i'm on the second page yeah thank you yeah total expense yes okay yeah sure so i was just curious with the 35 000 can you um do you have numbers of how many children how many english language learners do we have enrolled in this school i could take us i could take a stab as a percentage do you have a percentage mr pico that you could offer of our roughly 1800 we have 79 students [Music] that's radiant 79.97 thank you and the other one was it it's a little bit above that it's still part of
