All right, we'll call the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. Roll call. >> Yes. >> Espinosa, >> Trader, >> yes. >> Landers >> Reynolds, >> yes. >> Stand for the pledge. >> I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Have a motion for approval of the regular meeting agenda. >> I'll make a motion to approve the regular meeting agenda as presented. >> Second. >> Trader. >> Yes. >> Reynolds. >> Yes. >> Rap. >> Yes. >> All right. Cool. Moving on. Could we have consent agenda? >> I'll make a motion to approve the consent agenda including 5.1 disposition of minutes for March 2026, 5.2 payment of bills, 5.3 district treasures report, 5.4 inerson
activity fund report, cafeteria report, and 5.5 the personnel report. >> And and before roll call, I just wanted to add it's it's an updated report that you have in front of you. It has the uh three uh Lincoln uh teaching partners and so we're full staff over there. Ready to roll. >> Question. >> Yes. >> Reynolds. >> Yes. >> Trader. >> Yes. >> Okay. Foyas. Uh yeah, we did have a foyer um from somebody on all correspond internal correspondence with respect to Steve Lefco, whoever that is, which we had none. And then we had a normal one on last year's expenditures. >> Okie dokie. Let's move on to our admin reports. >> Yeah, before we um before we get on to the Blackstone presentation, um just a couple of notes. Um we are going to
have kind of our our part two of our big presentation um from Teach Train Thrive. Um that'll be happening in October with the full staff. So we'll need a a waiver for that. Um we'll start that process this month. We'll have that approval in May and so then we'll be able to finalize uh next year's calendar on that. It's already it's already in the calendar. Um but we can't put it in ISB until that's all done. with departmentalization down to fourth grade. All those uh conversations uh have been done and decided. Fourth grade is going to departmentalize and um everybody has their assignments and excited about uh you know digging in and moving forward. >> Is that where the lowest you're going for now? >> It is. Yeah. Fourth grade is the lowest conversation right
now. Um definitely want to sit in uh let that settle for a year or two and see what that looks like and see if we want to do anything else. And then the only other thing I had uh if it's not on your calendars already this month on the 30th which I believe is a Thursday the quarterly semianual division dinner meeting uh which is hosted around the region at different times is being hosted by Modota High School. So, if you can, >> please attend. >> Uh, I think we're going to try to host the fall one actually. >> Yeah. And so, it's the first time in quite a while that one of those division meetings has been hosted uh in Menota. And like I just said, um I think that there's a good chance that
we'll host the following. So, if you can be there on that evening um and support our sister district, uh I apprec I would appreciate uh you doing so. You want to do you want to do introduction first? >> Sure. >> All right. So, tonight we have we have some extras as well, but tonight we're here to um recognize three of our staff members. Um Tia Musgrove is in her first year here in the district and she's the steam teacher um between Blackstone and Lincoln and she's doing a fantastic job. She's um jumped right in. She works great with teachers. Um she's so flexible, willing to do whatever. And we had a conversation this morning about something coming up. She's like, "Yep, I got it. I'll take care of it." and um it's great to walk
by and see kids engaged in um all the different areas of steam and getting that instruction. So Tina's been a great addition. She's a great team player and and here for the kids and very supportive of staff as well. So um we have Gina Parks who is retire I apologize I don't have her years. I don't know how many years. Gina >> 35 years >> 26 here. Um from Modota. Yay. >> Gina was in preschool over at Northwork in special ed and then came over to Blackstone and has been a a great resource as well for our staff and and does a lot to support our students and her job has gotten harder and harder over the years and um so appreciative of all her years here and best of luck in retirement. >> Thank
you. >> Not counting the days, but every day I hear I hear the number come out of her mouth every day. It does. >> Um Michelle Nerburgg is also retiring this year. Michelle, your years >> 35. >> Um started Michelle started at Ofer. >> Yes, I did. >> Yep. And have taught fourth, second, >> first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eth. I've done all except for kindergarten down there. her last couple years, um she's been the intervention teacher here and she's done a really great job of um educating our staff, supporting our staff, helping kids. Um she's always online looking for new theories and research and all that kind of stuff. So, she's greatly going to be missed as well. So, thank you Gina and Michelle for all of your years and support.
You're going to be greatly missed. And Tina, you have a lot of years to come. I'm sorry. >> You >> Thank you. >> Do you want to introduce your extras table? >> The best CK14. >> Oh, that's Yeah. Carrie Klein, first grade teacher. Julie Wixon, kindergarten teacher. Amy Lyn, kindergarten teacher. >> And we didn't get the memo. >> I just switched mine out. different answer. >> They're here to support their colleagues, which um the staff does a great job of doing. So, >> for sure. >> We're not going to miss you because you're going to be back to >> sub. Those 120 days, >> 120 days. >> Can't wait. >> You know, I want to I want to take the opportunity. could not be more appreciative of the time and commitment that you've had u
you know Michelle especially in her instructional leadership and and really digging in and taking care of kids on an individual basis. Can't tell you the number of times where I've walked through the building and something's been off the rails and there's Gina putting it right back together and so um you'll be missed. Very much appreciate all all your time and effort. >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I I mean you don't have to if you don't want to. Hey Michelle a little bit please. >> I mean they can see around it that's fine but >> Okay. So, in the fall when I came and presented, I presented to you our new um attendance plan and what the school improvement team had been working on, which Amy and Julie sitting here are part of that
committee as well. So, in the spring, I was asked to put together some fun things and just kind of highlight some stuff we've been doing throughout the year. And, um, Brad will be happy to know it was narrowed down to about 15, 13 slides. It was really hard to pick and choose what to put in. So, just some highlights of things we've done. Um, just some outside fun. The, you know, the recess equipment, the new big piece that that you all supported a couple years ago is greatly used every day and we're appreciative of that. But, um, lots of fun outside. We had um, this ties into our school improvement plan that we had talked about. I believe I shared with you I found this bear when I walked into the dollar store one day.
He's only going to make it a year, I think, because he's really getting slumped over in this couch. The kids are having fun. So, the bear is rotated throughout classrooms. Um, he's been in all but a couple, and he'll get there yet this year. Uh, so here are a couple of, um, classrooms that pose him with pictures of him. We have kids reading with him. Um, Mason and Quinn there at the top decided to give the bear a crown during free choice time. Um, we got a group in the bottom right corner who are reading and writing with them as well. So, it's been up to each teacher how much they uh let the students interact with the bear because we don't want it to be disruptive in the classroom. Um, but I think a
lot of teachers have, you know, used that free choice time at the end of the day, which is reward for good behavior to let them interact. And I've seen kids reading to the bear and things like that. So, it's been pretty cool. That's what jump. Did you two want to add anything about the attendance stuff? >> My students loved it. We had it over in our uh library area and um fidget area and they just they interacted with it every day. We had to make a little list to make sure that everybody got their moment with the attendance tarot and um they had a lot of fun. >> They get super excited when I walk out um on the playground when we're ready to hand it out. They see me walk out with the bear
and they all just know now they come running over and they get this big circle and you know we're like, "Oh, who's going to get it this week?" So, it's been super fun. The kids love it. Not sure if the dollar store will have another one next year that big, but it's been fun. Um, Paul Pride assemblies is something we've continued this year as well. These are the monthly assemblies. We usually have them on the half days and we meet down in the gym about 10:45 and that's how we wrap up our day. I have a paw pride committee. Gan is actually on that committee. Um, so we plan monthly games and we buy prizes and Five Below has been my new best friend for our prizes. They have great stuff that's much more reasonable
than um some of my Amazon shopping I was doing before. Um, but their kids can all or earn their golden tickets if they keep their three paws each day. They dump them in the bucket. Um, we had Cam there up at the the top. Our first one we were outside. Um, we did a um on the left over there in the middle we did a at Christmas time we did run Run Rudolph. We kind of try to tie it into the um holidays or the times of year the monk and that was they wore reindeer antlers and um we we see a lot of this stuff on Tik Tok, don't we, Gina? And they had to sit in a chair and run in place and pull that paper under their chair. And um for here
for kindergarten and first grade like they're very simple games. We try to keep them short games, but they're fun and they always love to earn the prizes. And in March, we just had a um March Madness, we did a little basketball thing. So, there's just a couple of pictures of their prizes that they won. Uh we still continue with our kindness program. Kindness begins with me every month. You probably see them. Um if you're on social media, we post pictures of our kind kid winners for the month. The teachers nominate one student every month. Um, we do a kindness project carries on this committee. Um, we do and I got to back up because Michelle's on school improvement and I forgot that. I'm sorry. I recognize quite all right. So, sorry for another month. >>
What's that? >> Only for another month. She's been on that one for a long time. >> 27 days. >> Yeah. No one's counting. >> No one's counting. >> Um so we pick this committee picks a kind deed to do every month and we try to do things for others like in the community. We've done a variety of things. Um the top left picture up there, we did a Kleenex and mitten drive in January. Um the bottom left, we just did that one down there is we made bookmarks. next um week, no two weeks from now it or ne next week is National Library Week and so I reached out to Graves Team Library could we make bookmarks about kindness and then you hand out to your patrons when they come in and check out books.
So all the kids made a bookmark and they'll be passing those out. At Christmas time we did a food drive for the food pantry. Um, we've done the the bottom one towards the right. We did uh we colored pictures for Red Ribbon Week and we put them in grocery bags at Sullivan. So, they got pictures um with their groceries. The top with the um boy with the umbrella. Every month we have a different bulletin board. You probably saw it when you walked in. And students caught being kind can earn a cutout. They put their name on it. It goes on the bulletin board out there. And um it's pretty full by the end of the month. It's pretty cool to see. And a lot of kids walk by, look for their name. Um when parents
are in, they're always looking for their name and things like that, too. So um we're trying hard to promote kindness um here within our school community and also to get it out and to give to others. In May, um Tina's going to help us. They're going to make May baskets in steam that last week of April. And then we're going to have um make have the kids make May baskets and give them to somebody else to show kindness. We learned last time we did this a few years ago that the kids wanted to keep them themselves >> because they're treats. So, the kids are going to get to make themselves a little goodie bag this time, too, to take home. So, um, lots of cool kind projects going around at the school. Um, this is
new this year. We have Will. She's a therapy dog and Linda Swanson brings Will about once every six weeks. And uh she she does that because she also goes to Lincoln. She goes to Northbrook. She goes to Holy Cross. She goes to Peru. I believe it's North View. She goes to she has a grandchild there. And she brings Will during the lunch hour. Will's coming tomorrow. The kids love Will. They get to come. They all get to come visit her in the gym during lunch and love to pet her. And um we've used her too for some of our um like our kids with more challenging behaviors. And we're doing that tomorrow for our last time. Our kids that get tier two or tier three social work with Miss Diaz or Miss Fischer are going
to get to have lunch with Mil will in the separate room. So that's been super cool. Um she's a diva. Like the kids get so excited to see what holiday outfit she has. Her nails are or her paws are painted. She has earrings. Mrs. Klein might be loving on her every time she's here. >> Um so that's been super cool to have. Uh wish we could have her more often, but we'll take once every six weeks, but the kids love her. Uh first grade field trip to Boios. Uh they did that last year as well. They went to the pumpkin patch, learned about life cycles of pumpkins and all that. So they had hay rides. They got to go out and pick pumpkins. They got to play on the playground equipment. They got um a
doughnut and some apple cider there. So that they have a lot of fun. It's good to get away and have some fun. field trip and they had good weather this year, didn't you, Gary? >> All right, kindergarten did something different this year. Uh, as you might recall, they've gone to Wood Haven the past couple of years, which has been wonderful, but they we years and years ago, we used to go to the Sandwich Opera House and then they stopped doing it for a while and then we saw it's back and then we saw this year they were doing Elf Jr. the musical and we thought what a great opportunity for our kids to go see a musical or to go to like a smaller scale theater. So, they did that. Um, went over in December
to the Sandwich Opera House and saw the show and had a great time. It was a lot of fun and something different. We're not sure what that'll be next year, we'll have it again or if there'll be another show we can go to, but they they took the bus over there and enjoyed the show. We had some great parents go along as well. 100th day school is always fun around here. It's fun seeing the people dress up that kids will ask me, "Are you going to dress up?" Well, yeah. Well, you're already old. Thanks. Thanks. Yeah, we had some great great outfits. But, um, we had a dress up like a 100 year old. There were 100 day activities. There were 100 day snacks and it's just a lot of fun. It's a big celebration.
First grade kind of celebrates 120th day as well a little bit, but we haven't dressed as 120 year olds, have we, Carrie? >> No. So, that's that's another fun day that we look forward to. Uh this was something new we had this year. We had the land of smiles assembly which was um from Delta Dental that came out and they did a an assembly on dental hygiene and brushing your teeth. Uh it was interactive. They got some kids involved up there and it was free and it was um really it was great for our students to be able to see that and um learn a little bit about dental health. We also this year was something new. We had a bike safety assembly. This was also free from the Department of Transportation. They came out
of Rockford and they talked about pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, and um how to cross streets and stop lights and all that kind of stuff. And the they got some interaction from our students there. They students wanted to ride the bike and jump the little ramp they had there, but um they did not let them do that, of course. But that was a fun and educational experience for our kids as well. Dr. Seuss week is always fun around here. We have a a book of the day and we have dress up days every day to kind of correlate with the books. And we had um mustaches in the bottom there. You can see everybody got a mustache and they were I think most of them were off before nine o'clock. They were itchy and they were
hot and um but that went along with one of the books that we read. We um the bottom right corner at the end of the week students vote on what their favorite book was from the week and um we have a great uh staff intervention our intervention paras mostly Michelle Beats did most of the decorating and making things came in and decorated the whole school. It looked beautiful. Um the students enjoy it. We had a reading challenge where the students could participate in from home if they wanted. Things like silly things like read under the table, read in a bathtub, not filled with water, read in the car, just different fun ways to get them to read. And then that we had a I didn't include a picture of that. Um a donut breakfast one
morning for all the students that did the whole board. So that was super fun as well. Each month we have um a goal for our students to earn Paw Pride certificates. Uh students as they move through the building in classes, in the lunchroom, in the hallways, they can earn Paw Pride certificates from other staff members when they're caught being good and making good choices. Um so part of the Paw Pride committee job also other than playing in the monthly assemblies is coming up with trimester rewards. This is what we use a lot of our fundraising money for. This year, um, our trimester one reward was we had a sloth. Her name was Stella. Stella, I saw she was just at Loyal actually a couple weeks ago. Um, Stella the sloth came out from Chicago and
um we had a presentation on sloths and um the kids got to interact with Stella at the end. Every class got to come up. They could pet her if they wanted. We did class pictures. Um I don't think that one's in there. I can't see that far, but Carrie Klein was all over the sloth as well. She's a she's an animal person. So, that was super cool for our um our students to see. Last year, we did the reptile assembly. So, we tried to to do like a science one. She did talk to me about they have a petting zoo. We might be looking at something like that for next year as well to bring more animals in. This might be my favorite one we've done. Um we did this the day before spring break.
This was new to us this year. Uh we did a a carnival and an oldfashioned carnival. Students kept asking um about if we were going to have ponies and a ferris wheel. We were talking about a carnival. No. Um just oldfashioned games like the sucker pole and the ring toss and the bokezo buckets and all that kind of stuff. The duck pond. And the committee did a great job of planning this. We had lots of fun games. We had picture props. We had prizes. Um, they did a great job of organizing this and the students had a blast. We had a lot of parent volunteers and for the first time doing it, I was super proud of of how well it went off and how much fun the kids had. Only a couple classes came
at a time, so it wasn't overly crowded. And they were so well behaved. It was just it was fun. It was a lot of fun. The parents um probably loved the bag of prizes that came home with them. Um, but they had a lot of fun. And then for trimester three, um, we'll be having the inflatable bounce house party again this year. Hopefully it doesn't rain this year. The last two it has and it's had to be inside because we have seven of them coming if it's outside. Uh, if it's inside, we can only have three or four depending on what we get. So, you know, the last three slides of the of the reward parties for the kids, the kids love that stuff. And I always try to be super transparent when we're doing
fundraisers. Like this is what Blackstone's raising money for for the puff pastries. You know, we did bunt cakes. Bunt cakes is going towards this club choice went towards the sloth because the stuff's not cheap and but it's fun and it's educational. I don't know how educational bounce houses are, but the other stuff is and it's it's a lot of fun and they they deserve to have that break and be rewarded as well. So, we're looking forward to that. That is Friday, May 22nd. I believe it's the Friday before Memorial Day. I think it's the 22nd. So, we had so many other great things going on this year, but that's all I have for today. >> Anybody have any questions? Anything. >> Thank you. >> The bounce houses are educational because of the support. >> True.
Tina could probably pull something like that. >> I could have a lesson plan with some No problem. >> I could do an activity and they could build their own. >> And you ladies may all go if you want, right, Mr. C? >> For sure. Thank you so much. >> If you want, you're more than welcome to stay. You're more than welcome to stay. >> Really appreciate being here. >> Yeah. Thank you. Thank you very >> Oh, did you DVR it? >> No. >> It's all right. >> Oh, no. >> Okay. We don't have board committee and reports now. We will talk about one though. Right. >> Correct. >> So, we can move on. 71 is our athletic officials pay. This was discussed in the update. Does anyone have questions in regards to it? >> More
information on it? No. >> Okay. >> We have a motion for item 7.1. >> Um to I'll make a motion to approve a change in athletic official pay. Um officials pay will be raised to $40 a game for basketball and volleyball and $80 a game and $40 for the V game for soccer. >> Sher, >> yes. >> Revisions in the handbook. anyone >> and and like we do with press policy, um a lot of it is stock from the IPA handbook that we subscribe to. So that that incorporates legal updates. >> There's no questions or discussion for motion. >> Make a motion to approve the student handbook revision for 2027. Second, >> yes. >> Trader, >> yes. >> Kus, >> yes. >> Reynolds, >> yes. cost. >> Yes. >> Employee pay. This is following the
president we kind of began several years ago with the um increasing the pay relative to similar to our contracts and then having the hourly wage increase. Started this back when we had to catch up with the minimum wage increase. So we start that five years ago I think it was a dollar But then we didn't want it to be the same for everybody. So then we built in that version of a a step there for the quarter for years of experience on top of that so that we kind of stratify the pay with years of service. Any discussion or questions in regards to it? I'll make a motion to increase all hourly wages for fiscal year 27 by $1 per hour with an additional quarter for another year's experience. All other non-contractual or nonCBA employees
to receive a 4% increase in daily wage. >> Second shder. >> Yes. Yes, >> I'll abstain on this one. >> Yes. >> 7.4. This is something that we bring up. Um, we no longer need to keep the executive session audio recordings this exception from that. >> So, that is the exception of the February through April. Any questions about it? I'll make a motion to delete all executive session audio recordings up to September of 2024 with the exception of February to April of 2024 meeting minutes. >> I'll second. >> Yes. >> Press policy update 121. >> Uh yes. Uh earlier in the week I sent you the summary uh document which is five or six pages. Thank goodness because I think the actual policies that were attached to it were close to 200. Um so again
uh pretty standard stuff. Um things being u updated in response to laws being passed or um old policies being out of date. If you have any if you take a look at any of those and have any questions, uh, let me know. But nothing controversial. >> Joint conference. >> So, as always, it's the weekend before Thanksgiving. I think it's a little bit late in the month this year. I think off top my head, I think it's the 20th through the 23rd is the actual joint conference. Um, so like most years, uh, we'll go ahead and sign everybody up and if for some reason something comes up and you don't think you're going to be able to make it, uh, just reach out and let us know and we'll take care of it. >> Yeah, just
another opportunity. Um, I sub u gave you a copy of the contract that uh, we're going to use uh, moving forward. I just wanted to make sure that everybody had a couple months to look at it. That way in the next uh couple months I do bring a contract, everybody's aware of it and I can put in an update um exactly what the particulars are with that that specific individual. >> bad news 8.4. Um, so yes, so the our district health insurance renewal, the the preliminary renewal came in at 26%. Of course, uh, Wendy who works with Gallagher and Gallagher is the largest broker in the state when it comes to working with Blue Cross Blue Shield. So she will go to bat for us and do a lot of arm twisting. Um but still
right now health insurance renewals across uh the board are very high. The health insurance uh markets in a lot of flux. The our initial came back at 26. The average final uh that Wendy said she's seeing across her uh market is over 25 as the average. And so pretty confident that we can be under 20 and hopefully be in that high teens somewhere. Um but I I want to be super transparent about about where we are with this. Right. So assuming that u it stays at 26. No it it won't. Assuming that it stays in 20 at at 26 um% then the new money, okay, the just the new money to cover that health insurance increase is going to is going to be districtwide is going to be threequarters of a million dollars. That's not
just what the district plays. That's what the employees pay plus what the that's the total premium increase. Okay. And so, um, you put that kind of in the you couple that with the fact that this will be the first year this next year be the first year that I will have ever seen as a district superintendent where our new money costs on benefits will be greater than salaries. And so, we very much need to address this. Um, and again, this is this is full transparency. I'm having this conversation with lots of people, right? Uh, is it is it something that u next year we can we can handle? Of course. Yep. We've been we've been very prudent with our long-term planning. Uh, we have next year we have some projects that are going to fall
off in comparison to this year. um we're going to be able to cycle through and put money in the bank next year kind of just like we planned, right? But I'm being completely transparent with everybody in that when it comes time to address this, this needs to be addressed. >> Um so we're going to have a committee again, correct? >> Correct. But I know we we talk about it kind of every year about like feeling out where people are at with different options whether considering a second plan, third plan, you know, whatever that might look like an incentive to get off the plan. Um any number of things. Is that something we can launch again so we can understand where everybody's at? >> Yep. We'll discuss all those things in the next couple weeks when
we have a committee. You bet. >> Um, so how many I know it kind of relates how many did we are are participating in our initiative with the wellness. >> So the um >> because I know that was one of our like to try to >> Yep. So I I think we have about a 100 lives. Does that sound about right? Um and I think that so the the first wellness piece is our biometric screening. So of the 100 lives um in the pool last year I think we had more than half. I think we had like 55 or 56. We have a our year two of that is here in two weeks and we're already up over 60. So that program continues to grow. So that is a way that people can keep an
eye on their health and track their health. So that's a step in the right direction. Um we rolled out a um a $15 reimbursement on gym memberships. >> Yeah, that's what >> um I think we maybe 10 or 12 so far. Does that sound about right? >> Maybe about Yeah, a little maybe 10. >> And so that's so like most things that'll you know take some time to get some traction. >> When do you anticipate the insurance group coming together? My guess would be not next week but early the following week. >> Um I know last time with them we had some request from Gallagher. >> Could we maybe start with that? So we have that already when the committee the first time like what >> I think they're able to tell us just broadly
things that were causing it. >> Yep. >> Right. Like is it pharmacy? analyst here is like there was a couple of individual situations that were kind of unavoidable. It wasn't like anything that they saw in the data that was something we could address. And how far off are we from that co-op goal still >> so far? So, it's interesting because the uh the cooperative that we would hopefully eventually hope to phase into, they are actually not accepting any new members right now because their renewal was even higher. And so, they're stopping for a minute, reassessing a few things. And so, um, they would, if they were accepting new members, they would actually gladly take us right now because our renewal, even if it came in at 26, is lower than what the cooperative renewal was.
So, >> I think we might be just slightly further along in the conversations where where I'm at, but I know ours is like 18% in the cooperative. It was primarily driven there anyways from pharmacy weight loss medications and stuff really after the cost, but there's still a lot of things that can be looked at and a lot of opportunity to discuss things with staff. But I think before we put too much effort any one place or another, it's a good idea to feel them out if they're interested in high deductible plan or just a savings account or gone through this over and over >> before incentivizing them to get off. If there's a spouse's plan they could get on, could we provide incentive towards that deductible offering like a tedduct situation? I know we've talked
about that for years and why haven't we moved more forward with any of those rollouts >> employ more to have those as well as what we're doing. >> A lot of these things are already available to um the people in our plan at no additional charge. >> It's just incentivizing them to use it >> to use them, >> right? I know we talked about rolling out like a monthly newsletter. Hey, did you know? Is any of that happening? >> A lot of that's already approved. >> Yeah, I don't we don't do a monthly newsletter as much as I'm going to say periodically. Um something will come out of the district office. Just, you know, pay this, you know, here's this piece. You know, Wendy will send us something that, you know, make sure you're taking
a look at this or here's an update on something. But I don't think it's less frequent. >> Maybe there's a conversation that could be had at a once a month meeting just to keep it fresh in people's minds that they're not getting this new bill essentially. >> Yeah. >> And being shocked when they have heard about it over and over again. I hope the committee can meet. I feel like we get the renewal and then we come back and then it's like, well, next year we could do blah blah blah, but then we're out of time because it's too late to do anything. So I do think as much as we can like you said maybe meet more frequently or develop a like a more standing committee that can work to figure out ways to
>> we've been having these conversations for a long >> it always gets to like the last minute where yes we get a lower renewal than what we thought it was going to be but then we don't really like have any >> but over the last what three to five years we've added how much like what it cost something million more dollars >> in the last two or three years alone right >> correct >> so I mean that just needs to be talked about truly in big black numbers to people who don't see those I think >> I don't do do you know does the high school use Gallagher >> they do for sure and and were using them before us >> most most around here do we did in the cell we do >> we
do workshop >> I just wonder as we try to look more like I know we're not in an official cooperative but even just thinking outside of the box of what are things that we potentially could look at cooperatively right >> outside of the cooperative >> can make your own co-op >> you can if everyone's willing to share the same risk yeah absolutely But just wondering even as you you talk like totally out of the box about working with like local healthcare providers to find out like would there be would they would they wave the the cost of so the wellness benefits for people or you know just take the insurance and not charge the co-ay or what you know like are there things that we can do if we're talking about everyone that works at
two districts for example in the same community like Maybe that conversation would be more attractive to local providers or to to meet with our hospital local hospital leaders with our two districts and talk about it. I mean, it's not sustainable. That's ultimately like you said, could we figure it out for a year? We could figure it out for a year. Can we do this for five years? No. >> Correct. And so, do we get to the point where we have to things away. >> Does anybody else have interest in the committee? I would I would be interested in that also being not only as a a board member but being on the side of being one of those users and a school district. >> I know that last year Sarah had some interest in that.
Um so my only request with that would be that um no more than two board members attend any one committee meeting. swap off too. >> Yeah, for sure. >> As soon as you have dates figured out request that data from Gallagher and share with the whole board, I think that would be beneficial. just any other ideas that can come up with great >> and making sure I think I would appreciate in whatever your next like employee update would be to let the staff know >> too that this is where we're at and what the numbers looked like and what we're hoping the numbers get to. But we are building a committee and we would hope that >> maybe even some of our nonertally saying what came out of their paycheck. Yes. It's like for me
that's always an eye openener what you because you don't realize it slowly but three years ago here's what you did have now here's what you are making because of >> anything else we have a motion to adjourn >> I'll make a motion to adjourn at 7:16 Second favor in our cafeteria program. Is it Tuesday that needs to be
