about 300 kids here as well and uh kids design robots for a few months then they come out here to battle them together I think there's four major four or five major robots so there's a Pneumatic flipper then there's a horizontal or vertical spinner which is just a piece of metal that spins really fast or there's a pusher or there's a fast metal or you flip people oh my favorite part is the competition day here it doesn't matter if you spend like $11,000 on your robot or 3,000 anything can go wrong like right now we just lost our batteries came off and we lost the whole round because of that but you know we get that we're going to put it better and we're going to win the next one so even though the competition
is only 2 days there's probably about four or five months of a building process that goes into it and we manufacture everything ourselves so we cut all the metal all the poly whatever else do all the electronics it's pretty labor intensive but at the end you learn a lot and it's really [Applause] fun so when I began I didn't know how to use any power tools I didn't know how to use any of the machines there but now I know a lot more than from what I knew in the beginning I think even if you think it might not be for you give it a shot just go in for a couple meetings and see if you like it or not spatula driving foot long into the corner My Hope Is that along with robotics
from what I learn and what I can use for future applic that can help me get into a good school and get a good education I think my favorite part is really the beginning of robots and just seeing all the kids excitement and this so jacked to be here and U you know seeing all their hard work come to poition well I always wanted to be a teacher I've had fantastic teachers throughout my entire education career which kind of just persuaded me to become a teacher feel like the support throughout all the schools I've been at has been fantastic and just led me to where I am now especially with being a culinary teacher I always loved to bake and cook and it took you know my passions and then me also wanting to work
with kids and combined it into two and just been fantastic someone did the TR measure um you can add a little bit more if you would like growing up I went to prospect um coming back here has been fantastic I feel all the support from everyone in the building students and staff overall um it's just been great it's been a great experience especially being so young 10 seconds turn it off and it down 10 seconds yeah cuz you don't want to over mix it being a culinary teacher is so fun um the kids are so Lively it's a very unique experience obviously cuz the kids are always up and moving the kids cook every day I think it's a nice break too for them um because obviously they're not sitting down for the full 80
minutes they're up doing things they're learning life skills so I switched my major during my college Years I switch from elementary Ed to secondary Ed um dual credit allowed me to do that I did multiple dual credit classes in high school throughout a whole range of different things they helped a ton they saved me a bunch of time and money if I didn't have those dual credit classes I would still be in college right now rather than teaching because I would have been in college col an extra year but the Dual credit classes saved me and in the long run they helped me so much and helped me jump start my career I encourage all students to take any of these dual credit class e e e board at the table here um we could
we could spend three four meetings talking about whether we ought to have an if or the uh in a in a sentence one of the greatest things was uh going uh with press through ISB and that was probably 15 years ago probably at least maybe 20 and all the policies had to be reviewed at that time uh and uh brought up to speed uh with IB the interesting thing about the policies if you've never seen a policy book we have three binders and there are three big ring binders this thick and the the policies that were mentioned here today many of those reflect and have additional pages that came with this packages where there used to be two pages are now three pages um everything we do everything we do uh is in the policy
uh you can't do anything uh without following some policy or violating some policy so uh it's it's really a process to go through these understand what it is uh Mrs Keys has to know what it is so she can eyes the superintendent of course uh the president but it's a very very detailed process and I've always been uh uh excited about the fact that we're now into a situation where we don't have to develop the policies because we didn't do a very good job of it thank you we're back to live streaming okay um thank you Mr dling anyone else this uh this um admin procedures is a new initiative of the association and and uh the association only took a few uh member districts to embark on this mission of um reviewing procedures and
uh I think Miss keys I know it's been a lot of work but uh it seemed like you were excited to do it so yeah um and uh important work isn't always fun work yeah well so um I did talk to the uh Association ex executive director about this and uh since it's the first year of doing this and kind of tweak a few things with the program but um yeah gr I think we have press plus is is the one that we uh subscribed to okay appreciate it thank you um teaching and learning Dr Lopez yes thank you so much uh president uh kitzer I wanted to start with an acknowledgement first so this is the first annual Department of Labor youth apprenticeship week and in celebration earlier this evening we recognized 44 youth
apprentices who have completed their experience we've also hosted visitors from Montgomery County School District facilitated and participated in several webinars and most importantly our hery high school student Emily sa who's a manufacturing Apprentice with Demi a plastic injection molder manufacturer in elro Village was a featured speaker at a youth apprenti Summit in Washington DC that was hosted by the US Department of Labor so Emily had taken Project Lead theway classes manufacturing classes with us and she was also on the track on Monday in Joliet uh with her high mileage vehicle that she helped build with with the other students on her team and during her partnership Emily worked all aspects of the operation of the business including earning a forklift operator license when she turned 18 during the year and researched and implemented a new
lighting design system that they actually used um so she's now been hired full-time at denji after she graduates while she continues her studies so we're very proud of her and I wanted to mention that so this evening on the agenda is the Student Services report the purpose of the student services presentation uh to the board of education is to share the data and provide an overview of the services initiatives and accomplishments that have occurred throughout the year within student services and special ed so at this time I'd like to invite our director for special education Megan mold Brown and director of student services Dr Jessica Herman to share this year's report good evening thank you very much for the opportunity to present tonight about the amazing work happening in student services and special education my
name is Jessica Herman I'm the director for student services and I'm Megan Mal Brown I'm the director for special ed so as you know in student services we support many elements of the student experience um secondary post-secondary counseling counseling discipline health services and services for students with disabilities and tonight uh we'll share some of the highlights and as you have read in our board report you can see a lot of data and some updates in there as well as well as answer any questions you might have so first of all we are excited to extend our gratitude for our additional staff that we were able to welcome this year um thanks to the uh addition of in each building we have a new school psychologist social worker and division head for Student Success safety and
wellness this Edition has really made a significant impact on the services where able to provide in both quantity and quality our staff are really expressing gratitude for being able to team consult um increase prevention work increase restorative practices and really enhance the relationships they're able to build with students and families um this has also led to continue building uh academic and social emotional supports um every building is being really creative with using time using space um creatively to meet the needs of students uh We've also been grateful to partner with like Omni and uh Ascension and linked together to continue having more wraparound and more intensive supports for students uh another new partnership is our student advocacy aot program through North cook uh which is housed at both Rolling Meadows and Wheeling this year and
that's been uh an opportunity for two full-time student Advocates that are hired through North cook but staffed at our buildings to carry a case load of 25 to 30 students for whom they provide mentorship and advocacy and really just onetoone support on the students meeting the students goals and we've been really excited about the The increased capacity through this program and we're excited to continue expanding to more buildings next year hopefully um we've also been busy with technology uh we have two new platforms School links and embrace School links is our new College and Career exploratory platform where students can learn about colleges learn about careers take assessments to learn more about their own interests and their own skills and kind of Pathways and um potential careers would be a good fit for them and
then we'll be able to um apply and and connect with opportunities through the platform as well and so far we've heard really positive feedback about schoolinks and Megan will talk a little bit more about Embrace um and we've also been excited to uh continue with our professional development uh on our next slide we have just a handful of some of the oh we we switched it um at the end of this there's some uh a handful of some of the opportunities we've um been able to provide staff staff have also sought a lot of opportunities outside of the district um one of the most exciting uh ones that we've been most excited about is our early career student services opportunities where our veteran staff have gotten together and provided training for our new staff around
trauma and restorative practice practices um and we've really leveraged the expertise we already have within the district to welcome our new staff and then we also wanted to share U our caralis uh data which is a a new partnership which we're really excited about and we've seen really great results about um so caralis is a care coordination resource that we our staff can make a referral for a student or a family or a staff member who is looking for some kind of therapy or student or uh substance abuse treat treatment and Care Salis kind of does the the work for us they help uh search they find a good match with that matches with insurance with language with student needs um they can even help make the appointment for our students and our families and
this is used almost daily within our district and so we have um we have the data on one of our yes this one um as you can see we've steadily increased the use of caralis um since we started with it in March of 2023 um we have over 355 students or family members that have been connected 186 appointments the the point I really like is the hours of communication that's 444 hours spent on our students behalf or families or staff members um and that's 400 plus hours that prior to care Solus our staff might have been doing making phone calls trying to help families connect with a care with a provider that meet meets their needs um and so this has been really uh and now we have that time back to work directly with
students this has been a really um beneficial program and really grateful for that I I think the only thing I would add for care Solace is that prior to care Solace it was taking three to six months to find a care provider for a family with car Solace that time has been reduced to days or weeks yes good point can I can I ask I hate to interrupt but I'm going to touch upon it anyways can you kind of go into why there was a 400 % increase in a number of cases over one year for caralis if you do the math from 72 to 355 it's 400 times yeah yeah I think people just were starting to use it the six June 1st was very new with with the program we continued to provide
a lot of trainings um over the summer and in the fall and I think that helped with a lot of Refreshers we also had additional staff using it um so I think as we continue to make everybody aware of it um they they started to use it more also as you can see our Anonymous searches go into that um and as we continue to let the our staff and our community know about it like it's on our website um information goes out in Publications that those also go into the cases so the more people know about it the more they're using it and then our next slide is just um a few testimonials that from our community itself t talking about um how their use of Calis and and um their experience thus far so
we'll turn now we'll turn it over to Megan for some highlights about special education sorry just getting the microphone right uh so thank you again for the opportunity to present tonight and all the hard work and accomplishments that have occurred in our student services and special ed departments it's been a wonderful year in special ed and our programs are flourishing highlight a few different initiatives that our teams have focused on throughout the school year um in order to address the increasingly complex needs of our students um first off I'd like to highlight um I know Jessica mentioned earlier embrace our new IEP platform at first glance this would not seem like a significant accomplishment but the work that goes into a successful transition um the work has been extensive the IEP platform not only stores
our paperwork but ensures compliance with federal and state law and we look forward to a more streamlined platform to also include our Medicaid funding information and tracking as well as Section 504 paperwork our Building Division heads really spearheaded this training and implementation especially Katie druger from hery Christine pascazi from CLS who pitched in with their expertise to help the other buildings transition and then monthly training sessions addressing issues and legal compliance for special education and student services further supported this initiative uh next I'd like to highlight the focus on vocational experiences for our students in special ed our special ed div heads and transition Specialists have been partnering with career Discovery and getting creative with the infusion of vocational activities in course curriculum field trips micro businesses and even within related Services delivery in order
to create exposure throughout the high school experience our coffee carts and delivery services continue to flourish from the new cafeteria Kiosk for bison grounds to the mus machine delivery services for brood Awakenings at hery and onward to the ever developing expansion of forest Brew in the specialized schools additional micro businesses and pop-up shops have included H Coco and a jar from mly Meadows amped on algebra class and strawberry plants grown and sold by CLS students our life teams have hosted a variety of pop-up shops and Cafe experiences and um I hope some of you were able to enjoy I know I could not have been more delighted by the teamwork I witnessed during The Breakfast Cafe popup during the fall The Pride our students took in their roles whether that was hosting serving um cooking
cleaning and the communication and teamwork demonstrated to execute a successful dining experience and the pancakes of course were delicious um students also explore their career Pathways by working in the community at a variety of sites supported by the career Discovery program students learn about various post-secondary options through working with their counselors case managers transition special and attending a variety of field trips geared towards their interests and Pathways this year our students visited Elmhurst University and the Elsa program a variety of programs at Harper an exploration of various trades including a visit to the m America carpenters union and Triton's Autos programs just to name a few our teams have placed immense priority on a targeted postsecondary planning process with the understanding that their need for exploration and development Starts Now uh next I'm going to
discuss the Continuum of services within each of our buildings our population of specialed students requiring significant Services continues to grow in both intensity and complexity so across December of 2022 to December of 2023 we have seen an a uh a 5% increase overall in the number of students with IEPs in our district and this includes slight growth in the eligibility categories of Health impairment and emotional disability which I believe is likely reflective of the national adolescent Mental Health crisis we've also observed a slight decrease in our least restrictive setting so meaning students taking mostly general education classes and slight increase in more restrictive settings so mostly special ed classes this shift has consistently occurred over the last five years reflecting the adjustments we've been making within our buildings to support students with more significant needs
um we've also seen and an increase in the number of students requiring off-site placements in therapeutic day school and residential settings due to the intensity of safety and mental health needs in order to address the growing needs of students in our district we've worked to build our Continuum of services so three of our Comprehensive High School sites currently host programming that provides increased structure supervision social emotional learning support and uh limited transitions within the building and the purpose of these programs is to increase consistency predictability in students environments provide therapeutic milu and to promote the use of coping skills healthy problem solving and progress towards graduation requirements our other three buildings continue to gather data for intentional program development to Target specific specific student needs of this nature students who've participated in these programs for
example at wheeling and Broly Meadows sites have earned more credits increased School engagement and remained within their home school setting which is crucial to their sense of community and belonging our CLS urise and life programs also continue to expand with growing student populations and we've seen increased Partnerships with students in General Ed programming through electives extracurriculars and events within our school communities uh strengthening students sense of belonging and connection has been a significant initiative this year across our programs improving engagement in classrooms and school communities at Buffalo Grove case managers and student services staff reached out individually to connect students with various after school activities Lindsay rapinchuk our speech pathologist at Elk grov spearheaded elk Groves neurodiversity week in order to celebrate all kinds of minds and to coincide with autism acceptance month and this
included theme days like Heart of Gold and wearing yellow to promote inclusion and belonging the Wheeling High School staff if we go back a slide we can see the pictures of our on the left of our uh Wheeling High School staff um rock their socks for a world down synd day um to raise awareness for Down syndrome uh Academy students regularly participate in various events and field trips for example team building activities at Sunrise Lake Outdoor Education Center in order to build community and camaraderie among students and staff our CLS students have participated in a variety of events to Pro commun promote Community as well including the big game a co-organized prom with SOS students and celebrating athletes on both ihsa and Special Olympics teams our Special Olympics athletes have celebrated medals in floor hockey
skiing snowshoeing and two athletes have qualified for summer track and field competitions I know I had the pleasure of helping out at one of our basketball practices in the winter and it was this amazing site to behold um witnessing the communication organization and hard work of 50 plus athletes with special needs along with their highly committed coaches led by Nicole McCormack it was joyful and inspiring to to say the least um if we go to the next Slide the last initiative I'd like to highlight is this intensive reading skill development work of our special ed literacy learning committee this initiative to build targeted reading intervention for students with significant reading skill needs has been led by El grve special ed division head Adam Clayton and reading specialist Katie winad and includes special ed representatives from
every building teams piloted Lexia power up at the beginning of the school year in three different buildings with n9th and 10th grade students as you can see by the charts students demonstrated significant rates of growth for example in the area of reading comprehension 23% of freshmen and 33% of sophomores demonstrated growth from their starting skill band indicating anywhere from two to four grade levels worth of growth within the school year our students themselves also identified the impact that they felt from the intervention these students reported feeling motivated to keep working and immense Pride in their progress there's no greater feeling as an educator than senior students internalize the impact of their own hard work and the success the results from it and I'm told this brought some of their teachers to tears this momentum continues
to carry them through the program and their gains have continued through second semester all building sites will continue with Lexia power up intervention in the fall the literacy committee determined that it was not just imperative to find an evidence-based reading intervention that would meet students immediate needs but it Al is also critical to create long-term planning for the infusion of Reading Best Practices through throughout all curriculum and instruction particularly for those students with significant reading deficits in order to address this need a committed set of educ Educators in each building is engaging in coursework through Lexia Aspire a professional development literacy platform that's grounded in the science of reading this group of Educators has engaged in monthly professional development sessions and completed four courses within the sequence the work has centered around discussion of how
to apply this knowledge of literacy instruction to daily lesson design and implementation strategies these teachers also report greater confidence in applying these strategies in their classrooms while we celebrate wrapping up the school year and all the wonderful work our buildings have been engaging in we look forward to the next year in building Upon Our progress and enhancing and innovating with our amazing building and District teams we're so thankful for the board and Dr Rose support Dr Lopez for providing the resources we need to continue with this meaningful work and as a token of our Department's appreciation please enjoy coffee mugs with the updated bison grounds logo sent by Buffalo Grove which was designed in collaboration with our special ed students as well as individualized friendship bracelets made by students in the EG creates lab um
from elgrove high school as a promotion during neurodiversity week our students enjoy connecting with their classmates and school communities and we wanted to share these tokens with you as an example of the amazing hard work from our students and their supporting staff members and to thank you all for your support and we are now happy to take any questions thank you appreciate it uh board members I got a question okay so um reading through the individual uh passages for each of the high schools um I thought they were they were incredible it was very uplifting um I like the fact that they focused a lot on social emotional uh skills self-sufficiency all that but and I apologize because um I don't want this to be intended as a gacha question but the one thing I
thought it was lacking is that I felt in the six schools that you guys were missing data objective data there really wasn't any numbers like there was so some examples so in the academy you said there was a 10% growth in in the ABS and C's that were achieved by students in Vanguard you said they completed 50 more courses than they did the previous year and in the um career center over 100 college credits compared to last year so those are things that I feel are measurable but when I looked at the six schools other than that reading development skills that you kind of showed on the screen for Al grou High School there wasn't really anything there that was measurable it was just kind of increase or it didn't really say much so that's
that's my only suggestion for next year's presentation thank you thank board members go ahead Mr dling I remember back in uh 2022 when we were coming out of Co and we recognized that we had some mental health issues and I remember uh Dr Lopez coming to me and we talked about uh what we needed at each School six counselors six psychologists six morines or that position and I remember being involved with Kate to get to get those people uh it's wonderful to see that there's been some positive results from that obviously it was not uh inexpensive to do that but the positive results we seem to be getting from it is uh is certainly gratifying thank you thank you anyone else thank you good report appreciate it look forward to it every year thank you
thank you l board member updates who would like to start Mr dling would you like to start uh yes I do I was at the uh njrc Awards night last night which was uh which was marvelous up at Wheeling High School we uh we probably have very close to 150 Cadets in the program unfortunately uh or fortunately whichever way you look at it we'll be losing about 40 plus seniors this year and they'll and that was a very very active group for uh for them the commander commander buer and Senior Chief cell um did a marvelous job with the with the ceremony over 40 medals were given um there were candidates I think there were three or four candidates selected forem a couple for the Air Force Academy um and um then we got to
see the change of command ceremony which if you've ever been in the military is uh is very interesting and it's very formal uh because you're losing a commander but you're G ging you're gaining a new one so that was very interesting ceremony very well done and uh they should be complimented on that the other thing I did is last Sunday I went over to uh went over to hery to their Auto Show uh which was put together by Jim Van blad who's the uh Automotive instructor at hery this the second year they did it they probably had a 100 plus cars there and all the donations and the service over self SOS group from uh hery was helping them out but but All the Monies that they make from that goes to uh special organizations
in the area lemons of Love uh Jerry's cafe they did last year so they really donated really and they had probably probably 20 of the students from service over s that were involved it was very very interesting a lot of people there thank you thank you Mr dling Mr Walker I'll start by talking about the culinary competition that was held out on um why are you laughing I just love eating that's all on April 26 it was my first time being there i' I've attended things at Buffalo Grove for the culinary arts before but this was such an amazing uh tradition that's been started by uh Senator an Gillespie and the Educators that are there and all the students looking at them and just they wanted to win so badly and but they were proud
of everybody that was in the group so it was it was an amazing day for me and um just looking at you know one of the winners um rolling medals won for carrot cake rollup and then the young lady from Wheeling won for a traditional uh garlic bread cheesy garlic bread that she it was a biscuit that she turned into garlic bread but the amazing thing is the community of it is it was her grandfather mother's father's recipe and watching The Joy on the grandparents face when she was selected was just out of this world I mean they they were very humble very U taken back and everybody that I talked to at that thing was just very engaged and very thankful that they got the opportunity and like I said um in my comments
there you know everybody's a winner there there's there's no bad thing that comes out of baking so I was happy to be included in that and you know just support everything there in addition to that I have a couple announcements um we have the Community Education summer registration that opened on May 7th classes begin on June 10th for info and to register go to c214 I'm sorry c. d214.org and then uh Frank I know you're on the foundation but I had to make mention that the top golf event mark your calendars for September 5th registration will be open next week go to 214f foundation.org and remember it's going to be hopefully a part T and we want to see everybody there and as we suggested last year might want to bring two pairs of pants
in case you get a hole in one so mark your calendars for that and that concludes my report thank you okay then Mr I got to top that okay uh the I the district 214 African-American Teen Summit I know Nicole you were there I think it was Dr Bryson did I get that right yes so uh he was the the speaker and uh his presentation was amazing especially the message that still resonates with me today to the young adults that were present and that is the front row philosophy that he talked about and it was really very engaging and uh his message was spot on uh I have two things um just going to talk about the state compan competitions I want to give a shout out to miss farza from hery as she's leading
her bad mitton team to the state championships at the Cel along with three or four of our other schools have Representatives as well and I also want to wish good luck to all the boys and girls water polo teams from our district 214 schools that are competing this week in the ihsa sectionals the other sports will be uh starting up probably in the next couple weeks softball soccer girl soccer track and field and uh the boys and girls lacrosse as well as boys baseball but those teams are competing now wish them all good luck thank you thank you Mr Heyman money you mentioned uh no bad things come out of baking you haven't been in my kitchen um I have had fun with njrc Awards last night uh the high mileage event that was on
Monday um the apprenticeship week which was a presentation just prior to this meeting and of course the culinary Bake Off was uh a great lunch for me of course it did okay oh good thank you um thank you board members um just one thing that uh senator gespi of course is no longer Senator she's got a new jab at at the state and uh representative KY will be taking over uh the the competition in the next few years so glad to hear that yeah my first time out at the high mileage was unbelievable watching all the students work together it was it was great quier drive but it it uh I'm glad I went njrc wonderful ceremony love it um and um I was at startup showcase each School presents uh they're pitched to four
judges so um Buffalo Grove presented they weren't the winner but they presented this uh um golf cover that's either magnetic and they had a cute little video where he just threw it on the cart and carts are a magnetic so you're not losing your um head covers which happens all the time or this neat little hook that you if you're a walker you can just put it on your uh golf bag but the winner was um pickle ball this is their uh um one of their uh uh P paddles that they showed all the JS what did you say Dr Bros pickle Bros was name right here pickle Bros and uh they won the competition you can get a um custom pickle ball paddle if you like they're taking orders but it was a it
was a nice presentation all the schools did a did a wonderful job um appreciate that so we're moving on now let's see we have some action items this evening uh Mr key you're you're up first certainly this is the oh I'm sorry can I have a motion and a second for 10.1.1 so moved second a motion in a second Mr key thank you um Madam president so this is the uh for the waste uh disposal and recycling bid um this is a bid that was done five years ago was a 5-year contract with our current vendor and uh that is up and so we did Issue it uh we had uh ample time for vendors to um ask questions we issued an addendum based on those questions and then on uh bid day we open
bids and receed CE two bids from two strong candidates with um a remarkably long list of exceptions which is very atypical for these processes um this from what we understand from our peers is more typical in this industry now uh they're trying to take the power back from the uh from the clients and uh most of them were uh material in nature these exceptions they were looking for uh including liability language um reduction of negligence and other items um so Mr host our interim uh purchasing uh person and our department worked with legal counsel to redraft the bid documents and uh we've put it back out on the street um scrimp our uh liability insurance carrier uh accepted all of those uh revisions uh it does not uh diminish our rights um in a in
a material manner it's more just aligning with where that industry is these days um again this is a bid that we're doing with Mount Prospect District 57 as well where the administrative board for that and uh their board and their csbo is aware as well so um we did send a bid to eight uh vendors we received two and they were non-conforming therefore we do uh respectfully recommend that the Board of Education reject uh all bids uh board members discussion comment go ahead do you anticipate that July 1st we're not going to be picking up our own garbage we have a contingency plan we will be fine uh we've worked with our current provider uh Mr Hoster has to ensure that we have continuity of service regardless of the the timing of the bid award
thank you thank you for that Mr dling anyone else Colwell Frank Freo yes Mr Walker yes dling yes Hinman I inqu sir I motion carries 5 Z thank you next on the agenda is approval Health trainer bid Motion in a second please so moved second it's been a motion in a second Mr key certainly I believe we had brought this to the board uh previously this for the athletic trainer supplies um Mr Hoster and the procurement Department uh Miss Walther they worked with uh the various building based folks um to account for all of the uh various products that are needed as you can see the award before you is to the lowest responsive responsible bidder for each of those items so you have multiple biders in a total amount of $4,160 39 for our
estimated annual usage therefore we do respectfully request the board approve as presented discussion board members you know what amazes me is is we've got a number of companies in Illinois I just don't understand why why they're not bidding on these things we're getting you know from from all over the country but uh just doesn't make sense to me and and I understand the bid process yes yeah and there you know even though they're based not locally they do have local warehouses some of these companies um Medco does have a Cooperative purchasing contract as well so we're we're kind of teasing that out as well for the next time um because in all honesty for uh the the size of a budget that we have um to be awarding to you know five different vendors of
of $40,000 worth while every penny does matter there's also the the administrative cost of of putting this together so so our team is certainly looking for some efficiency there as well thank you thank you col dling yes hinaman hi fito yes Walker yes and crater I motion carries 5 Z thank you next on the agenda approval of benefit platform business solver Mr Keeley oh Motion in a second I'm sorry so moved second thank you go ahead certainly we had discussed this uh at the last meeting as well Mr dling as uh the board member on the insurance committee has been actively involved in this process so I I do think we had a nice discussion uh last time um at the last board meeting since that time we've been working with several sets of legal
counsel because believe it or not our legal counsel does not do Hippa so they have a separate Council for that but um we've checked every nook and crane to make sure that uh the contract aligns with our needs and our plans and we feel very confident with the contract that we have before you this evening um with benefit solver uh it is a uh a strong product that is very user friendly that's used in quite a few school districts uh in the state of Illinois especially and I personally used them in a in in a former District I'm happy to say I was no part of the procurement process although I'm happy to see their their name here I do know they're a competent vendor so um do respectfully request that uh the board approve
