001[Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all [Music] all [Music] [Applause] [Music] signal your guy ready oh there it is I call to order the workshop for Bullhead City School Board on Thursday July 11th 2024 at 5:30 p.m. um I'm going to do a roll call President Melinda sbras Charlene Diaz here Fred rushon here Barb ziki here Sheila Barnett here are we going to talk about our survey tonight yeah you all said you wanted to after you added yours to it yeah I finally did my St did your homework I did so maybe Cass has uh some information for you well there you go get my screen turned oh and right under here okay do everyone else uh I'm sorry right behind where is it it's right behind there you go oh
002I like the two G aren't they cute uhuh okay okay he must like you or something cool okay okay now I printed a copy up before um oh never mind I understand I get it somebody hadn't finished their homework I get it sorry no wait a minute I'm sorry I'm backing up I printed a copy up before uh M contributed and the one that says the board and acts policy supporting the efforts of the administration by helping the people of this community to have the facts about their schools is that what we're looking at that's y well I have a 20% red here and I know that there was a couple of questions that and I can't remember which ones they were specifically intended to print my responses after I responded but when I completed
003it poof it went away oh so I should have been smart enough to uh to do it but the board relationship with the community you were you had it on the one he just read yeah yeah that one right there and school facilities yes oh and it had it showed five responses so I'm not I'm not I'm not quite following this but there was there there is red on the copy I had I printed well there you go that's the 23 that's the old one that's not this [Applause] year's hey that's all right as long as we understand that no that's good though Fred we have improved look at that apparently we have okay yes that's good thank you for helping us out well thank you for correcting me it's going to I'll have to
004learn how to read these things right I have to tell you these are wonderfully boring very keep going we'll get to there's a couple there we go we still wonderfully boring yeah but I think we're working on this one yeah we're working on this one you are too interestingly that's the same as last years yeah and you have been work we have been doing that we've been doing better on that we still need some impr we still need some improvement on it put 80% Improvement on it okay well if we answer needs improvement from four of us didn't ask what degree that's how they get the 80% because four out of five of us say we still need some improvement I think I'm 50% of the way there same as last year is the same
005as last year mhm almost goes with the other one though just going yeah getting back in school and stuff because I know I didn't get like I should have this year that one would have been um because it go down Cassie because it says uh by periodic visit visitation schools I can see this one and the other one that we just had yeah the two of them go together they kind of go together now this one is totally different last year it was uh 40% red 60% blue how come this one's red and it says none of us agreed with it you all so this one is a solid like needs some need to do something attempts to gain information from on your instruction program needs yeah we need to put that one on our
006goals getting information from do like parent meetings or help with that yes because we just got those new surveys yes uhuh oh yeah we just Jen just signed us up for um we've been using Panorama which coales is our various data streams into you know one system one database so that we can have reports and pull things um they just demonstrated for her early in the week and then she has signed uh has purchased another piece that lets us do surveys for students staff parents um and and then um once you collect that data then the program goes okay how do you how what report do you want so you can do things like and and none of it's personally identifiable so keep that in mind but you could say okay I wonder what I
007wonder what the parents of our eel students how they think we're doing and it'll pull the data just from those those parents reports uh what do what do bus drivers think we're doing you know pull that pull those data and um so it's it's a a really new you know a really good way for us to um get some information from our stakeholders that wouldn't be nice to have what good that' be nice to have almost like a on a ctly basis or something to that absolutely for doing that that is that probably will help us out on that way because no parents here so right we don't know if they're right happy with what we're doing or not happy exactly so yeah exactly same as last year same as last year this is different
008I think that was that was my 20 % because I'm really kind of lost when it comes to what what you do well I'd be happy to do a workshop on that yeah yeah yeah I'd be happy to do that good call I don't mind signing your papers because I really believe your heart's in the right spot and you're doing the right thing but I don't get it well it would I mean and it's certainly first of all your responsibility as board members to know how that works M um and so you know and and would be helpful you for you in making decisions but it also keeps your superintendent honest your business manager honest yeah but yeah if you you know if you'd like to do a twoh hour workshop on that sometime I
009mean because it's not the kind of thing we can do in 30 minutes yeah would it be better to take it out of house and let asba do it or do you think they could if you wanted to go out of it I don't care either way whatever you're comfortable with well we pay them to do that that's true we also pay you to do it so that's true um we'll have to talk about it yeah you guys you can decide on that but I mean we can make it happen that's easy yeah this is different and again this is all that budget stuff that mm I'm sure that I'm the ones in green if I may your comments align very well with uh the Strategic plan they do you know and the focus on
010of that plan so y yep there are four goals right there looks good well we've already done the One hiring outside Consultants to improve teaching practices so you know that's that's our IE in and that process so and we've started in you've been working with the den moving it Forward too and I yeah I'll report some of that in my board report cool maybe next year we need to go and see IE working a little bit again like we did this year gives us a absolutely that was that was phenomenal any questions on this you guys no you feel we were honest mhm yeah I don't think it's anything that surprises me we've been vocal about most of this the whole year so yeah I would agree yep okay all right moving on then to
0111.4 asba policy advisory regarding Title Nine so Madam president and board members um uh the current federal Administration has worked on some revision to Title 9 um and uh there's some controversy about some of the changes that had to do with um uh particularly with lgbtq um and we have been advised legally and advised is not really the right word because it's we would still need our own attorney's advice but some information has been shared with us about um uh certain circumstances that have been uh noted by uh a judge a federal judge in Kansas um um putting on hold some of the changes to the title 9 uh regulation or the Title Nine regulations so Cass if you would put up ACA now this is the one that is uh that affects mostly affects
012employer uh employees and that kind of thing um and so you can see the underlined parts that are new and added um so not much of a change in this one at the beginning certainly and and then at the end so there's not much of a change in this one this is not Title 9 this is just a regular policy about sexual harassment and and we've had it for a long time so you can see some changes here um uh some additions and then there are some rather significant changes further down those are not substantive changes they're they're more just word choice I think yeah I don't see that as being no there's nothing there's nothing particularly surprising there I read these except in I didn't see anything yeah and um uh this this one
013just changes some of the way that I as the Coordinator would handle any complaint um and and then any of the other steps in the process um how we would uh how we would handle those um once again not not truly huge changes in what we in what we do and the good news is that with k through eight school um thank goodness this is not a huge issue um you know with this with the age group of students that we deal with and employees this part actually streamlines a bit the process um which I'm fairly grateful for because it was it was rather cumbersome yeah got a lot of it Prett much wiped it out yeah and and and change you know but I mean it simplified it some and that and that's that's
014good because it really was pretty cumbersome it's for there um the other part that's good news is that that anytime we have this kind of a change in a serious procedure you know procedural change uh the trust U provides training for us to make sure that we know that not just what's written in there but how to how to do the things how to do them appropriately and uh and for each person's role so you know the the coordinator the investigator the um uh you know the hearing officer whatever any of the roles that are in the process uh they do training so uh uh otherwise it's it's a bit intimidating to start something that is you know was already a pretty complicated process even though it's simpl streamlined and simplified some it's still pretty
015complex process so it's really nice to know that we can get some training for it you don't want to be chusing somebody inappropriately no or destroying them because of absolutely that information absolutely um and this one is um it's current policy but they've put in uh the the reference so that if there was an alleged sexual discrimination then it gets um you know the process is is slightly uh changed yeah for for so as you can see they're not they're not substantive changes they're more procedural changes so why did the federal judge put this on hold um uh I don't know a huge amount about it I do know that what we got was a notice from uh one of the uh law firms in Arizona that deals with these kinds of things for school
016district and um uh the judge uh there was appe an appeal made to that court from um I think it's mothers for Liberty something like that mothers for whatever and then uh two groups uh two organizations that support students particularly lgbtq students um and so uh the judge wanted the opportunity to review you know all of the all of the elements in the new title 9 regulation uh and then effectively uh for for Kansas because it and it's a federal judge so it's for a number of states um so for those States the the changing of policies in school districts are on hold until that ruling is made it doesn't affect Arizona at this point but the legal advice that we had from uh that law firm was that if any if we had students
017uh whose families were involved in any of those three organizations uh that we would need to be put these on hold and leave the policies that we currently have or and or if we put them in place and then we learned that we had families uh who were uh involved in those three organizations that then we could then we would revert to the current policies um uh until some determination had been made so um right now it does not affect us but I want you to be aware that there could be a bit of dancing with this so um it strikes me that these are just procedural changes more than anything else and um shouldn't affect us at all so later on um when it comes up in the we'll have more discussion on whether
018to if you want yeah and it will be first reading anyway so these are because these other than and we you wouldn't be doing ACA a-r right now anyway but the others are all first reading of policy changes so you'd have time to think about what you wanted to ask about or do you know change consider before the next meeting okay item 1.5 journ the workshop I need a motion to adjourn the workshop please I make a motion we adjourn the workshop I'll second the motion all those in favor I'm Melinda soski I Charlene Diaz I Fred rushon I BB zeri I Sheila Bern okay do I call this back in just you will in about one minute looks like [Music] [Applause] [Music] I call to order the public meeting to discuss or for budget
019hearing uh at uh 5:55 p.m. pursuant to ARS 15948 c and d and 15955 95.1 159 62d and 15 1103c which requires school districts to make all revisions resulting in budget limits either increasing or decreasing conducting a public or conduct a public hearing the purpose of the public hearing is to provide an opportunity for questions and discussion of the expenditure budgets for the 25 2025 fiscal year the time is now 555 2.2 the expenditure budget and Madam president and board members this was uh this was information that I shared with you earlier and uh in the proposed budget so this is uh for you to this is the hearing for folks to ask questions prior to your uh discussion of adopting the budget for the fiscal year 25 so this is the same budget you
020showed us before there aren't any changes in what we saw yeah two weeks ago yeah okay yeah there could not be changes between the proposed and the and the um one that you're adop that you're looking at to adopt okay the federal projects one the 74.2% is that because of all the Esser funds okay yeah because they're wrapping up State projects and all that was because of that uh yeah a little bit State projects like the H isn't hqu one of the state projects yeah hqu that was that huge Grant for the preschool um uh and that that has to all be wrapped up by the end of August um Esser 3 has to be wrapped up by the end of September um sr2 was you know was done a year ago at least in
021September so you know those those federal grants wrap over from in our fiscal year because the federal fiscal year is October 1st to September 30 so that's why there's always this kind of tail end of the tail end of the federal grants uh into the new year but yes that's that's uh huge that's what I thought when I saw it yeah any discussion any additional questions okay item 2.3 oh you can't oh you have to wait the five minutes you have yeah we have to wait until 6 Okie do I'm sorry but yes we have to we have to give anybody the chance in these five minutes to just says pink come ask questions come talk to us so next time I wait for that five minutes yeah what's that this is whose person would
022be there you go saw post on Facebook it is six o' okay I need to I need a motion to adjourn the uh budget me budget hearing please I make a motion that we adour the budget hearing I'll second that motion all those in favor I Melinda saski I Charlene Das I Fred rushon I bariki I Sheila Bernett I don't have to wait five minutes no good to go okay I call to order the regular meeting of Bullhead City B school board on Thursday July 11th 2024 at 6m sharp roll call President Melinda sasy Charlene Diaz here Fred rushon here ziki here Shaya Bernett here would you guys please say the Pledge with me see if we can get the comment in the right spot allegiance to the of the United States of America and
023to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all do you think we just take a breath there and that's why we put a comma it happened because the under God was not originally part of the Pledge so there was a comma there and then when that got added everybody just left the comma and the you know what it is okay so citizens present nobody did we have any citizens present no call to the public no call to the public no okay so I want to skip it right y donations 3.6 um I know the school is not in session so these must have been leftovers from teacher appreciation the yeah the teacher appreciation so we had more and more and more and more huh $800 from
024Community member that's nice wish to thank everybody on this list I just still I have a hard time believing that that they that they aren't here you know they don't don't donate a little bit of time they do the money and is beautiful but we do need them too thank you thank you very much Community for for donating that was beautiful and I'm hoping we're sending letters to we always send letters okay item 3.7 I need a motion to adopt the agenda as presented I'll make a motion that we adopt the agenda as presented I second it all those in favor I'm Melinda subasi I Charlene Diaz I Fred rushon I Barb ziki I Sheila Bernett item 3.8 superintendence reports uh Madam president and board members uh you have my typical reports the financial reports
025um and uh work ticket reports facilities um you don't have the discipline and the ADM and those things because we've not been in school um but I did provide for you the student uh the um oh wait a minute oh yeah the student uh employee ratios that you all asked for from the last meeting because you were looking at that information on that budget summary um so Cass if you would if you would put that up um uh Cass actually did the work for me on this uh to collect the information and so uh I had her collect from our three neighboring schools and then I just kind of at random picked uh Holbrook and Wickenberg um and and then um just out of curiosity Mesa because it is the largest District in the state
026um because I was curious about uh what kind of class you know student teacher ratio that they had so uh in green you see excuse me in green you see the uh the best ratio in each of those lines um uh we actually are the best in one but I think we're pretty darn good in pretty darn good in most of them I think that um there's probably some confusion in terms of superintendent the category that's superintendent principles and other administrators particularly the other administrators part and then managers supervisors and directors across the board there are big differences in those and I think it has to do with how each each district chose to put their you know put their managers or or administrators in those two categories um I think it's pretty clear when
027it's certified or classified but I can also see how people might you know how some districts might have put put the same numbers that we put in the first one in the second one and vice versa so I I want to express my appreciation for doing this in such I I did not expect you to do it because we just had what a meeting a week two a week and a half ago oh you know so I didn't expect anything like this tonight so I appreciate that thank you much and these these things are fun yeah this is you know this is a and I and I show I think it shows us in a relatively good light it does um that we're right there with everybody else and some things we're we're good at
028and some things maybe well there's not even something we really need to look at as far as I'm concerned how about you guys um the question is Mojave Valley's special ed it's very high they've only got what what is it they've only got one special ed teacher down there now for all the special ed kids or no not necessarily so it means that they have one special ed teacher for every 160 students now the thing is the question I have is it is it for 160 sped students or for 160 students overall and so you know once again how the person who's putting the information in the system is how they interpret that um that item on the you know on the on the form that we fill out um I'm guessing that this is
029one to 160 students not special ed otherwise they're saying about 25% of their students are special ed down there yeah and we and we are we get we get all kinds of challenges from the ad because of our percentage I know their percentage is not as high as ours yeah so um but the other thing I would like for you to notice is the secondary tax rate um Mojave valleys is now zero because they're uh they're override you know failed and and so they don't have a secondary tax rate but you notice that all the other schools do uh have that secondary tax rate and so um uh you know that's some dollars that they have available that we do not and that Mojave Valley does not yeah um so that either directly or indirectly
030affects the way these numbers play out um you know sometimes the overrides are for capital projects and and those kinds of things but frequently they are to support salaries yeah and uh and reduce class sizes you know it might not be so much a big increase in this in the salary base or whatever but it reduces their class sizes and so you know there's some relationship between those secondary tax rates and these numbers uh below you know in terms of uh so for instance Holbrook um you know I thought we were pretty good at one teacher one teacher to 12 and a half students well H Brook sitting there with one to 11 and a half yeah um well some of that is because they have that secondary tax rate and it's a high ex
031secondary rate there too so and and they're a fairly comparable siiz District to us um you know fairly close so I I have to tell you though I frankly was surprised that Wickenberg is only 1100 students because uh that's K12 district and it's very large it it extends clear down to Sun City so I was I was a little surprised that that's how few students that they have in their uh you know in their District of course the the the between wienberg and Sun City there's not a lot of population out there except for your farms and noan but the fact that they've got I mean there is actually a school yeah down around Sun City that is part of wienberg school district so um you know so that surprised me a little bit was
032educational to me too MH excellent the other uh information that I would share with you is that uh we have houses being built on our D projects so uh Plumbing is in water is in uh they're ready to pour concrete uh for the foundations um and that's going to happen if it doesn't happen tomorrow it certainly will happen early next week um it is so hot yeah that they're going to have to do it about 3:00 in the morning uh so we probably will have a couple of uh uh neighbors who are a little disgruntled but they're going to pour all three at the same time and uh and then keep them wet and and do the things that they need to do uh for the s days that it it requires for them to
033cure before they can actually start putting things on that concrete but we're making we're making movement and the uh the water lines are um have been uh backfilled uh all 21 of the of the Taps and other words the the lead to all 21 of our 20 house pads and the one uh for eventually for a a clubhouse uh have all been either uh they've all been inspected but several of them have been replaced and uh back fill is happening and the pressure testing is happening uh and they were supposed to complete that backfill uh today and then uh but we're not going to lay asphalt on that road until we're done with the houses so that gives us plenty of time to make sure that those water lines are not leaking and that we
034don't have to dig up the asphalt so at this point it kind of changes the order of of finishing things but we'll wait and do the asphalt last um but we have houses going up so if you drive by one of the things you'll see are the standing pipes for the sewer and and uh those kinds of things but um very shortly we'll see walls going up and things happening great good about time it's about time time pardon any other comments for our superintendent I have yes I do have a question so what uh what has gcon done to come up with a plan to recover are they still projecting completion yes they are they're projecting completion on time um and and uh so they've made some changes in subcontractors um and um uh and
035commitments to what's going on so yeah we had we've had a couple of um very um productive meetings with um the relevant parties so the gcon people the subcontractors the city because we had some issues with uh you know with some things um how some things were last inspection that hadn't even happened yet and some things like that I also had a productive conversation with Toby Cotter uh on Monday about about some of the things that are you know that have been going on so um I I think we we all now are on the same page and and more importantly everything is moving forward good thank you I'm sure I have other things but I will tell you right now I don't remember what they are and I didn't write them down so they
036can wait till the next meeting they can item 3.9 board member updates uh anything going on I went a couple of weeks ago I went to the Arizona literacy um presentation and I was really impressed it was more about uh uh the mechanics of um how how the um the organization is approaching uh educating teachers and providing more support I guess would be a good word it was very interesting and I learned something uh especially about dyslexic students that was uh well worth well worth the time I had no idea I knew dyslexic students had challenges but I had no idea of what they were connect I have one minute one of the things that they had us do as an exercise is they uh on the Whiteboard they put up a a paragraph they
037asked us to uh go ahead and just copy it down and write it down and they gave us about two minutes and I got about maybe maybe 10 or 12 lines on my sheet of paper then they said okay let's do the same thing but use your non-dominant hand my my result was I had maybe a line and a half and most of it was aible and that was a real eyeopener for me about just the the challenge that a dyslexic student faces and uh so that was very very impressive something I'll never forget a lot of empathy for those who have to deal with the situation a lot of respect for the teachers and the Educators that help these kids get through that so I applaud them all thank you thank you FR good
038any others any other guys um consent agenda is there anything that you would like have pulled from the consent agenda before we adopt it okay I need a motion then to adopt the consent agenda Madam president I'll make a motion that we adopt the consent agenda as presented I'll second that motion all those in favor I Melinda saski I Shin Diaz hi Fred Rushton hi Barbara ziki hi Sheila Barnett item 6.1 fiscal year 25 expenditure budget for adoption this is what we just saw right yes that's what you saw in the hearing so uh what I'm recommending is that you adopt the agenda I mean the uh ad adopt the budget for fiscal year 25 as presented I make a motion to adopt the fiscal year 2025 expenditure budget as presented all second that motion
039all those in favor I'm Alinda sabraski I Charlene Dias hi Fred rushon hi B ziki hi Sheila Bernett all your hard work just got a check mark 6.2 preschool students hand and parent handbook for school year 2425 um Madame President and board members um this one was not quite ready when we presented all of the others and so it has been completed and I recommend it for adoption okay do I have a motion to approve I make a motion app approve the preschool student parent handbook for school year 2425 I'll second that motion all those in favor I'm Melinda saski I Charlene Diaz I Fred rushon I bar ziki I Sheila Bernett item 6.3 asva policy advisory regarding Title Nine this is our first reading this is what we just went through um any more
040discussion on this okay it was our first reading we'll see it again yes you will 6.4 election of asba delegate and alternative this is for the September 7th meeting right um I know I'm going I'm going and Barb's going anybody else going I I was delegate last year so I make a motion that you're the delegate this year no thank you so motion I'll second that motion all those in favor uh I I Melinda S I was going to abstain but I thought no I won't hi Charlene Diaz hi Fred Rush iiki hi Sheila Bernett I'll be the alternative or the alternate I'll the alter alternative the alternative I'll be the alternative that's even better Barb thank you item 7.1 future topics um we have any future topics you guys are concerned about I'm sure
041we will be continuing to get reports on the progress of the den project absolutely and I intended to have some photographs for you tonight and didn't so I apologize for that that's that will be proof that it's happening yeah anything else that we'd like to see happen yes okay I have to think about how I want to present this um I I happen to be reading through the ourtown magazine this past whatever it was oh I guess my granddaughter number two was in there but and I was flipping through it and I noticed that um well Chris Mal was in there um what's the one Desert Star was in there MCC was in there the um Builder Academy was in there and they're all in their promoting their District their school but I didn't see
042us in there and I you know we're we're getting a lot of feedback that of negative feedback in regards to middle school and Fox Creek I think we need to do some marketing if that makes sense specifically maybe those two particular schools um because there's a lot of good things happening but we need to share that I don't know that you know the people out there the community really know the good things that are happening and yeah do we have improvements that we need to make absolutely but I think we need to really Market ourselves and say Hey you know public education you know and Charlene are they doing those as ads or are they doing them as articles um they kind of look like ad the way I read them as they were kind
043of like ads say you know come in enroll you know we've got these programs whatever um and I don't know if they're expensive you town I don't expensive are they very expensive you're looking at a minimum of a $400 really Oh I thought it was even more than that I think 650 is the minimum is that what it is now I know well we can certainly get Lance to look into it for us and figure out what we can do would you like to address any of that would you like yes please yes it is a future topic Lance so we're not expecting anything definitive but yeah inform us come on up do now yeah now it's good Madam president members of the board um you are correct but it does need a little bit
044of an explanation our town is what's called an advertorial publication um I have worked very well with um with Bri and Jerry for 20 years um but as an advertorial publication they will run copy if you buy an app that's how our town operates same way that tb2 used to do a lot of that it just so happens we will have an article in the August issue the August issue and we're not having to pay for an app the August issue isue article is going to be um basically about the cell phone and backpack policy and it was written slightly in a slightly different way than the news release when Dr Stewart and I reviewed that article the the one that we were submitting uh was basically the news release that has gone out is
045basically this is what's going to happen on July 29 the August issue comes out after that so it was written in a way sort of a reminder parents um one thing with our town and they will let us run articles without having to buy and ad because we are a school um aobi Mal young scholars have um very large marketing budgets remember it's a different uh it's a different funding structure different clientele different demographics and and um uh just trying to think of how we can say this diplomatically um there is a lot of money that is spent on marketing where if Public Schools if districts our size were to spend the same amount of money marketing uh using taxpayer dollars that they do there would be people who would be asking questions we are
046very lucky that we're able ble to get free media in our town as well as a lot of other Publications one of the other um challenges without Talent is and you've advertised with them have you not you haven't their lead time for a copy is extremely um lengthy almost a month so much of what we send out is information that is being uh it's fast it's uh a quick deadline something happens now we have to get it out there are some things that we can really plan out weeks in advance but I had to get the article in last week for the August issue of our town so there are some areas where we're just not able to do it but we still have got really good luck with other free media I mean if
047I were to sit and calculate the value of the free media that we get whether it's an article you know good news coverage or or Fair news Fair little F Fair um that we get in Mojave Valley Daily News or 3 minutes and 55 seconds on a Major Market U Fox affiliate yesterday in Phoenix there would be so many zeros at the end of it but at the same time I feel you pain um Dr Stewart and I have spoken at length about marketing opportunities but um I think there is a general agreement that we want to see the a product that we can competitively Market do that it doesn't mean we can't be looking at new and we talk about that all the time you know new opportunities to uh to you know to
048promote what we're doing that's positive and it doesn't necessary not necessarily mean that you have to use our town I just it just happened I was looking through that and I noticed that but I I just really think that we need to do a better job yeah of and and I use the term marketing because it's a good term it's a term um to Market our school district um because we do you know yes we have some things we need to work on but I also think we have some lot of positive things that we need to somehow get out to that public we do and in our town and some other Publications we've had some amazing coverage of um positive things at the middle school in Fox Creek over the last couple of years
049so I'm very proud of of some of that and again um it was free Media stuff that we didn't have to pay for that um in an advertorial situation others were be paying for and I don't know who mentioned the 400 bucks um I did but um I don't those contracts are generally there's a rate sheet and I certainly don't want to breach any confidentiality that Bri and Jerry might have but I can tell you for the kind of ads that some of the others are paying for it is a lot more than $400 I was I I was from the Gaya because when we were looking for ads for the Gaya that's what I that's where I came up the 400 when I and I can tell you what I when I was at
050Val I can tell you what I paid for this was 10 to 18 years ago I can tell you what we were paying for for full PID ads that also got me the adoral for out of town and 10 plus years ago it was in the 450 it could be in the 450 yeah okay thank you but we certainly will look at ways and and one of the things we've already talked about um one of the things we do on our Facebook page we initiated last year called a did you know and so it's just this little blurb of did you know this about you know whatever it is about our schools um and so we're trying to calendar out some of those you don't you know you don't want to do those too often
051because you want them to catch people's attention um but um you know trying to calendar out some of those so that we're so that we're doing that and I know that's just one uh One Source out there but it's probably got wider coverage than and I like our toown I love looking at that and seeing what seeing what's going going on in our community but it probably has wider uh wider coverage of the community than you know Facebook probably has wider coverage of the community than than that but we certainly will look at all of them so it's a good suggestion and it has a captive audience if you're sitting the doctors this yeah it's there it's it's for you captive audience but if I may leave you with just one last thing and that
052is the media list which I have developed when we have something that we send out to the med whether it is proactive or reactive the media list that we have now everybody talks about the paper the radio station our media list is three dozen so when we send something out it has very very broad distribution and that is work to our advantage and I will tell you that in that however many there are um because within 20 minutes of the release of our news article the other day Lance was getting calls um you know so I had the interview the same afternoon with the Arizona Republic um the the TV thing yesterday he did a he did an interview today because we were doing leadership uh leadership training and man you know meetings um but
053the response from kind of some big media was immediate um and thankfully presented us in a very positive light so good story was also picked up in other markets across the country too yeah we had one of our teachers reported that uh she saw it in San Antonio oh that is so um not that that helps us much but it's interesting that it got that wider coverage M thank you thank you Lance thank you for all your uh hard work and your your intense effort it's appreciated youf yeah no I just I just feel like we need course we do we always do don't know [Laughter] and when all our schools get a b letter or that would be awesome we can we will do an ad yeah um when our schools get a b
054letter a letter grade upcoming board events 7.2 hot hot and more hot right yeah yeah let's call attention please to the uh welcome back breakfast on the 22nd um uh at and we're doing it next door at Coyote um bigger parking lot and um and then when the folks go back to their own sites nobody has to clean up the mess at their own site to to try to do their job so um that's coming up you can see some back to school nights and Cass you might want to make that [Laughter] bigger for a board member to be at each of the back school night back to school nights um of course it's always appropriate would would anybody like to to go to the back to school night for be uh the middle school
055I would love to but I'll be out of town that whole week oh well then you can't do it no I'll be there in spirit July 22nd that's Monday that's Monday just coming up so July 22nd is a Monday week yeah it's a week from Monday at what time because this might be time for us to get out in the community and and meet and greet yep hottest part of the day five o' yeah no I have a conflict with Mondays yeah I can do it okay on the 22nd yep okay you'll take to Middle School anybody else want to go to Middle School yeah because they have a second night so they do sixth grade one night and fifth grade one night and um Fox Creek does the same I can try and make

058have them so early I got Desert Valley Charlene's got sunrise has Diamond Back has Diamond Back you've got all those covered we' got all of them cover except for coyote can coyote M oh yeah Coyote's at four well it's down in my neighborhood maybe I can just go at four okay got it I would call your attention to on the 24th the iave active shooter and stop the bleed training which will be next door at the middle school um uh that's going to be an all day kind of thing but uh if you want to drop in at any time during that day to kind of see how that goes um uh you're welcome to do that okay but we should be at the breakfast huh yeah it'd be good if some of you were
059at the breakfast when is the breakfast the 22nd Monday the 22nd morning 7:30 7:30 I to give up my water aerobics to go to breakfast it would be good to meet the it would be good to meet the new teachers yeah okay thank you Lance for can okay that Coyote Canyon breakfast was I'm sorry can you back that up a bit please Cass breakfast is on the 22nd the 22nd Coyote Canyon coyote at 7:30 so how many are going to be there so Lance knows to put out a put it out he'll post it he'll post it anyway if you show up that's good if you don't you know but we we do post it okay all right thank you for dividing that up with me because I think it's we that's our step towards
