003all kinds of things um and looking at people specifically in preparation for HR to put out work agreements and contracts uh I found some erors and uh so the first part of this is for you to approve Corrections and changes in the current classified salary schedule to move some positions uh and rename a couple of positions so you can see in red um the things that um I wanted to move over and then on the left you see where it says sped clerk uh somehow or other this position never got put on the salary schedule so uh these are corrections to the current salary schedule any questions no I need a motion to to adopt this new resolution the the revision excuse me I I make a motion we adopt the revision to the uh
00420 2023 24 Bullhead City School District classified salary schedule I'll second that motion I'll second that motion all those in favor I Melinda sabraski I Charlene Diaz I Fred rushon I Barb Zari moving on to the classified salary this is the one this is the one for next year and so having made those changes to the current salary schedule then I felt like we ought to do it for the new one as well uh and I will also mention to you that um uh payroll coordinator uh has moved over to the uh Lane 8 um uh we've been advertising that position for quite a while uh and uh on reflection realized that we're not not getting applicants because we're not anywhere near competitive um so we uh we would like to move it over so
005that we can be more competitive with the real world uh in this case and U the other thought in this is we have somebody to back up just about every position in our district we have nobody to back up payroll and uh so that means a lot of responsibility on that person um you know so if the person happens to be out sick or family situation uh chances are they're going to have to spend some time outside of uh normal work hours to catch that up so um we just recognized that we needed to uh do something a little different there and I probably should have said that on the other one but it applies to both any questions can I have a motion to to accept the changes I make a motion that we

007it's kind of like the flip side that oh I'll buy it if it's $19.99 but I'm going to think twice if it's $20 so you know it's the flip of that that there's um uh that there's there's just something about that that that makes some sense so um and it and it will work and it's sustainable thank you uh do I have a motion to accept the school year 25 or the fiscal year I guess it's fiscal year 25 2025 uh certified teacher salary schedule I make a motion we adopt the 20242 uh certified salary schedule for teachers and I'll second that motion all those in favor I Melinda saski I Charlene di I Fred rushon I bar zi okay moving on to another revision uh Madam president and board members uh column p on
008this salary schedule is tied to the uh pH D Lane on the schedule you just approved so while you had approved the schedule uh at the last meeting I needed to revise column p uh to be consistent with the other salary schedule I make go ahead I'm sorry Fred I make a motion that we adopt a certified specialist salary schedule for 2425 as presented I'll second to that motion all those in favor I Melinda saski I Charlene di I Fred rushon i b ziki we've discussed this Turf thing before we have and all the rest of the campuses have it well the other two Elementary campuses have turf fields uh and Desert Valley does not okay um you approved uh my request a couple of months ago to go out for bid uh and uh
009you approved up to $150,000 uh of which 50,000 will be reimbursed by the city through a grant that we've that they've told us you know that they will uh give us the bids came in at uh the lowest of the three bids was 176 570 uh and there needed needs to be at $6,500 worth of underlayment uh for that field so it's um about $183,000 um $183,700 and uh my thought is this is not going to get any less expensive um the other two bids one was 200 thou over 200,000 and the other one was over 300,000 uh so it made 176 or 183 look pretty decent so I'm asking your approval to uh go ahead and and approve um this bid and get that Turf installed is this similar to what's down at the
010community park that kind of probably it's you know it's the artificial turf like an artificial it's G to last longer than 10 years supposed to they have um I think it's been at sunrise for 10 years or more yeah and it's in good shape at Sunrise so perfect should be should be pretty good do I have a motion to put Turf in at Desert Valley I make a motion that we put Turf in uh at the field at Desert Valley I'll second that motion all those in favor I'm Melinda saski I Charlene Diaz hi Fred rushon I barari and we're into new business a job description for the business coordin facilities Clerk and Grant clerk are they all the same it's the same person it's the same person this has been uh in the past
011the job description included business coordinator and grants clerk um but since we took back facilities um the person in this position has taken over uh additional procurement and and responsibilities relative to our facilities um they don't have a clerk they don't have you know they don't have their own secretary or anything so we absorbed it into uh this position um lots of responsibility here and additional responsibility um you approved just now in the salary schedule moving this position over a lane um because we because we have so many things going on here uh so we needed the job description to match uh what the person really does this person's going to be very busy yeah she is very busy all 21 steps of it yeah okay no 20 23 22 yeah yeah oh my goodness

013that in October of 22 we were rushing and doing all kinds of things and then hiring people um um but I won't use that as an excuse so one of the things I found um and it was it's my handwriting it's purple pen so I know I did this when we hired Mark King who has about 40 years of experience as a plumber I should have put him on Step 11 I put him on step one and um so I'm trying to correct that um I can't go back and correct for fiscal year 23 but I can correct it for this year and I think that's only fair for us to do um so to bring him uh to pay him what I owe him for this year and um uh continue correctly um uh
014both J James Gaston and Jesse Hartwick um Jesse Hartwick was on the wrong line also not as bad as Mr King but um uh I'm not asking to go backwards for him just for the remainder of this year and then James Gaston I had in the wrong lane uh the position in the wrong lane and you've approved moving that lane over so uh once again it would be moving him uh to a different Lane and a different step uh and correcting that for the remainder of this year not going backwards but remainder of this year um these gentlemen have been very gracious uh about um this whole thing and are appreciative of the fact that I'm correcting the air and the same with Jennifer uh Jennifer Beck yes hers well because hers is moved over
