see that all right I called to order the workshop for Bullhead City Elementary School Board on Thursday November 17th at 5 30 p.m roll call Corey Burgess here Amanda Eamon here Charlene Diaz here anna Boyd here Melinda sabrowski here all president accounted for uh item 1.3 presentation from Kate Hall about Life Academy this Hall I'm excited I don't have a monitor to look at do I all right do you have my presentation I shared with you pause pause it's okay hey it has been a long week hey Will is there any way to get this one brought down for her that works it's not anymore that's okay you could just look at the good side of my face over there we're waiting for the humongous monitor okay Thanks Gloria okay it is actually it is
and I brought my my staff came tonight so that you guys could meet the staff that worked there introduce them while we wait then you guys want to stand up so we're missing one the young one she's not here tonight um and that's Logan Evans she lives out in Topock so like she needed to drive home before it got to go to River Valley yes graduated River Valley we love her she's amazing um this is Sydney Johnson um she joined our team most recently um and we have Mr art Schnabel he actually was a para and is going to school to become a teacher and so we asked him to become a long-term sub and join the Dark Side and he is now teaching one of the classrooms um we have Miss Medea down there
in the back um she's our special education teacher for the Life Academy so she takes care of all of the special education needs for the department and then we have Miss theme um we were lucky to finally get her we tried last year to get her in the district and um she just couldn't make it work and then this year she applied again and we swooped her up as quick as we could um and so we're really happy to have her with us as well so they work um all day long morning shift afternoon session with the kiddos in the Life Academy and they're doing amazing things with them awesome and Miss Hall if I may interject and for the board don't be fooled by the fact that miss bedia is the smallest of the
group and looks like she's 12 years old yeah she is mighty and is a wonderful teacher yes very much so okay well thank you thanks for being here yes we love them all foreign okay so in my free time I put together a PowerPoint for you to see because thank you that explains things really well um so at the Life Academy um I've completely revamped it from what it was in the past um and we started with some clear expectations um we're a place where kids can come to get that second chance they it can be a short-term placement so I have some students that are getting ready to go back to school in January and some that just started two weeks ago so you know just for a couple of weeks coming to the
academy to get their life together and be able to go back and be successful over at their home campus and then we have long-term placement we have students that are there for the entire school year so um depending on what comes out of the hearing officer the hearings that they go to with the hearing officer or if they are special education placements it all depends on how long they'll be at the Life Academy we provide academic support the students learn positive social skills as well as positive behaviors and how to care for themselves and others inappropriate and productive ways they also we thankfully have Southwest Behavior that's working very closely with us right now at the Life Academy and they're providing services to multiple students that we have there and they're providing those Services free
of charge to the students as well as to the school district the therapist will come to Coyote Canyon and meet with the students either before their session starts or after they're done for the day and the therapists that we're working with she is not afraid to go meet the teacher or meet the parents at their place of work to get the documentation signed to do the intake at their work or whatever whatever place is most convenient for the parents so that we can get these students into a therapy program that will help them to build their confidence and give them some positive skills to use when they're frustrated or having a difficult time in life and then we are working on goals they have to set goals when they're getting ready to return to their
school so starting the week after we come back from Thanksgiving break the students will be meeting with me to come up with their individual goals as to what they will need to do when they return to their home campus or we're setting goals for the long-term students as to what they need to do now in their life to make changes so that when they leave us my two long-term students two of them go to the high school next year so what are their goals once they leave us what do they want to do from now until May in order to be able to go to high school and be successful in high school So currently right now um we have one Desert Valley student that's there for the lre the least restrictive environment so they're
placed there because of their special education needs we have one student from Diamondback that student actually hasn't stepped foot on Diamondback he came from residential treatment and we brought him right into the Life Academy to set him up for success and give him that smaller setting before working on transitioning to Diamondback for his academic Services there and then we have four special education students from Bullhead Middle School that are with us right now and for Fox Creek none of the students are lre placed at this time for the hearing officer side of it we have none for Diamondback sunrise or Desert Valley that are hearing officer placed we have one from Bullhead middle and 11 from Fox Creek eight students are expected to return to their home school come January and the lre they can
return once they start making progress towards their social emotional goals and making sure that they have the skills and the that they need to be able to cope within the general curriculum and the general population at you know their home schools so one thing I wanted to do with Life Academy when I started the new position of special ed director and administrator over Life Academy I met with the staff that was that works at Coyote Canyon so miss Kathy Cherry Miss Kathleen rosenketter and Jamie Cottrell and then Miss Tammy Alvarez and I asked them what was working with Life Academy previously and what was not working with Life Academy previously and so we went through a bunch of the problems they were seeing things that they liked things that they didn't like and I came
up with expectations for the Life Academy every student who is sent to the Life Academy through a hearing their parents have to schedule a meeting with me and with the student present and we go over the expectations of the Life Academy and I let them know that these are the guidelines this is these are the rules the expectations you have to follow and any deviation from these will and can result in removal from the program immediately and being sent back to the hearing officer for further disciplinary action um the students go nowhere unescorted everywhere they go they have a teacher with them so that means if they have to run to the office to grab something or their parents there to pick them up a teacher escorts them to the office the bathrooms are within
the Life Academy classroom so they're not leaving the classroom at all just to go mess around in a bathroom right they're in the classroom the teachers are monitoring it at all times um they sit separated at their meal times um so they're not sitting right next to one another we you know as the the number of students from Fox Creek increased it was difficult to kind of keep them away their the friend groups away from one another and so we did our best like summer in the morning summer in the afternoon but the ones that we couldn't get separated we did they're at separate sides of the table um and there are staff members sitting in between all of the kids monitoring their conversations and um modeling for them how to be appropriate at a
table okay their cell phones are not allowed to go to the classrooms with them their air pods do not go with them they must be left in my office every day and their backpacks do not go as well they bring their backpack to carry their folder their paper and their pencil and the folder paper and pencil is all they get to take with them to the classroom they are searched every day we have the magnetic wand that you know we search them with um and so before they leave my office every day they have to go through that search before they can enter any further onto the campus they are expected to do homework so right now they're writing essays on gratitude and what gratitude means and who they are grateful for so each day
they're giving and given a homework assignment or each week they're given a homework assignment and it's typically either like the math they didn't get finished or math they need to practice or or it's a writing assignment so for a couple of weeks they were having a difficult time with manners somebody would open the door and they'd just Barrel on through well if we didn't say thank you for holding the door or we entered the room inappropriately that was a paragraph as to how we use our manners and how we enter a classroom appropriately I do walk through the classroom I try to do it at least once for each session as long as I'm on campus you know just going in checking on the kids making sure things are okay and holding them to the
expectations that need to be held in the classroom when they're in there working so the way our days look our morning session is eight to noon the students come to the office and they began they begin their day with me and we do our first our morning check-in with one another that's when we if they get there early we talk about their evening what they did just kind of building those relationships with the students um and then we I begin the searches um nobody has had a problem with the searches the parents are made aware that when they come and they fill out their contract with me that they will be searched every day even the students that are there because it's their least restrictive environment we don't single out kids depend you know that
because of why they're there um and so after that's done they then go to the cafeteria and eat breakfast in the cafeteria previously they ate in the classrooms um and I wanted them to I didn't want the classrooms destroyed and we have a perfectly good cafeteria that's just sitting there so they needed to be in there so that they can learn how to be appropriate in the cafeteria setting because when they go back to their schools they will be eating in the cafeteria um then they go to class and they start working we have the the PLP program the personal learning platform that they work on as well as um other activities and assignments and stuff that the teachers in the classroom see fit because the numbers right now are lower or smaller and I
have almost a full staff I need one more person they do get a lot of one-on-one two-on-one help in the classroom and one thing that we are noticing is that the students have a deficit in their learning there's a lot of students that we're seeing right now in the Life Academy that are struggling academically and so we're working on taking it and being able to identify where their holes and gaps are and work with them in that area and then there are a couple that we're going to start met ones on to see if they would qualify for special education testing and if they to see if they can get more services when they return to their home school that can support them in this in their academics um then they leave before they are
allowed to leave the school they have to come back to my office and we debrief we talk about the day how was your day were there any problems do you have any concerns do you have any homework what are your plans after school what are your plans this weekend again just building relationships and letting them see and know that I'm holding them accountable as well as their teachers and that we do care and we want to know about them so um they cannot leave it's done one by one they're all they're all in my office it looks like a hot mess at 12 o'clock when the morning's leaving but they're all in there and we're talking and I'm asking how are you getting home oh I'm walking okay please be safe we'll see you tomorrow
you know just giving them that last little like pep talk do the right thing before they walk out the door then the afternoon session comes in and we do it all over again the afternoon session does only get lunch because well they're only there for lunch time and we don't provide dinner yet at the school district so um they just get that one meal session in the cafeteria while the morning group gets more it gets breakfast and lunch so the student expectations are they're going to abide by all district and school policies My Fox Creek students they all have a copy of the Fox Creek handbook when they come back from Thanksgiving break they're all going to have a quiz as to what is in that Fox Creek handbook and they have to pass the
quiz before I'll sign off on them going back to Fox Creek they tell me oh it's in my backpack or I already have one of those well now here's one to study because they need to know when they came to me and I said well why did you do this well I didn't know or when I told them you can't have a nose ring in well I didn't know well it's in your handbook and so they all have one now that they can read and study and take their little quiz um they there's a zero tolerance policy for any nicotine Alcohol Tobacco weapons anything like that any of that comes on my campus they're gone immediately um there's no damaging school property um in the previous years there was a lot of damage done to
Coyote Canyon in the cafeteria as well as in the classrooms and other areas of the campus it is not tolerated and they know that before they step foot on the campus that there is to be no damage done they have to wear their school uniform every day um and they all did just get school jackets um Fox Creek Bullhead middle and Desert Valley were really good about providing me with as many jackets as they could for the students so that they didn't have to wear their Nike jacket in class or whatnot so because of what the Legacy Foundation gave them we were able to get some jackets for them and then they're going to work on those individual goals so these are the expectations I go over with the students and their parents when we
meet before they come into the academy consequences we call the parents a talk to the parents referral back to the hearing officer and then they're gone it's not you know oh well let's try it again tomorrow or you know let's do this all over again it's not like that there are a few students that we give leeway to but those are the sped play students and I have to treat those instances in cases a little bit different because of federal law if you're there because you've come to me from a hearing officer you have no you have no leeway these are the expectations you're going to meet the expectations or you don't have a place with our program so the behaviors that we have had at Life Academy so far this year we've had four
Defiance write-ups two for Destruction that wasn't of like School light switches or ceiling tiles or anything like that it was a classroom stuff on the wall papers torn up and then one for inappropriate language and all of these behaviors have been lre placed students none of them have been students that have come to us from the hearings they do get rewards they love it if we call home and talk to their parents or if we send a note home to their to parents to let them know that they're doing a great job they actually can earn a ticket for a perfect score Miss Padilla and and Mr are using Class Dojo to keep track of their points for when they're doing um positive things in the classroom making good choices getting their work done and
when they receive so many points they get that perfect score ticket so in their personal learning platform if they bomb a test or a bomb not a test but the quiz or one of the assignments that perfect score ticket can replace that and they can get that hundred percent as you know trying to motivate 13 year olds is really difficult and and not as easy as elementary students right and so we had to be creative with what our reward system would be because they do they are still kids and they like positive praise and they need rewards when they're doing things well so they they're a big fan of that perfect score ticket they then can have a free they can earn a free dress Day within the school book or the school handbook parameters
they're really looking forward to the week before Christmas I told them if they can make it that far with no discipline issues or anything like that that we could do a spirit week that last week before they go back and so it's giving them something to work for look forward to and work towards and then ultimately the the main goal and the main reward is getting to go back to their home campus so one of the big projects projects we've been working on is vision boards wanting them to look and think about what their future is going to look like being junior high students going into high school next year for most of the ones that we have you know it's a quick four years and then they're in the real world and we're trying
to instill in them that the decisions they make from high school on are going to impact them the rest of their life so they um they worked really hard on these vision boards they were given time every day after they completed their assignments to do work within their vision boards they gave me permission to put them up I didn't do it without their permission so they told me that I could because they were so proud of them and then here's some more students that are you know that are working really hard on those and I was surprised that the two where their faces are showing they said yeah don't cover my face like they're really proud of what they've done and what they've accomplished since they've been at the Life Academy are there any questions
how long has you is has this program been in place well I'm not sure about the Life Academy itself this is the first year I've taken over and it's been since September then you've been since August since August yeah okay um because we had our first student come within two or three weeks of school starting so it's been can you can you describe your best um your best success oh gosh they're they're so we were just talking about this in my office today like we have students asking not to go back to their home campus in January they don't want to go um though our first our first Life Academy student um she came to us and she had zero self-esteem she had no ability to decide what was a good choice what was a
bad choice um she was closed off didn't trust anybody wouldn't really engage in much of anything and now she's one of the ones asking to stay at Life Academy for the remainder of the year because she's recognizing that she still isn't quite sure if put back at her home school if she could maintain the positive progression that she's made she doesn't feel that she's had enough time with the support that's been provided to her and so her and her mom have both requested that she stay for the remainder of the school year uh it was a success yeah yeah and and our one student I'm they're just each one of them is so individual and we see like little things from each one um are one one of our guys you know he's in and
out of treatment centers all the time and um he's been able to for the first time in his life make friends and the other kids are looking out for him and supporting him and caring for him um one of my eighth grade kids they the one of my third my third grader was talking about bullying and how you know how it would upset him when he would be bullied at school and the eighth grader sat there next to him in the office and just had this Heart to Heart like it's not it's not you that the bully hates it's themself that they hate and you know just had this conversation this eighth grader with this you know third grader you know and supporting him and so we have these conversations every day with the kids
we and my staff is really good about getting them to think inside and about themselves and how they would want to be treated in the situations and things like that and they're now starting to use that with the younger kids that are coming to the academy if you had uh if you had a could have we could Grant you any wish that you wanted what would what would be your best wish for the Academy I just want to keep it going where it is to see where they go and just I would love to be able to have more students there that need it with the support that was my question on here is what do you need to support those programs to keep it going the way it is I don't know we're pretty
resourceful they're like I need this I'm like I'll get it for you um so we just I mean it just having Southwest Behavior helping us now has been huge and getting her there you know a full-time counselor would be amazing but Southwest coming in and providing those Services has been amazing for us um we do and would like to Branch out some and be able to set the students up and get them alongside some of the Civic groups within the schools out volunteering alongside some of these students that are already making positive impacts in the community and getting them next to them and buddied up with somebody going to events and helping to volunteer so that they can see that there's greater things in this world besides just themselves and their video games and and
all of that but I wasn't too sure if that was allowed with students who came from hearings if they're allowed to go and let's say my eighth grader is wanting to go to Desert Valley to help at their craft night or you know things like that so just to be able to provide those opportunities for them another big thing we're seeing especially right now with my Wellness One young lady that wants to stay um their her transportation is going to become a problem in January because there's going to be some changes in the family Dynamic and if they're not in special education I haven't been providing Transportation because our transportation is very thin right now and so just to be able to have the ability to make those decisions of you know for your success
and for your future yes you can come here and we'll provide some transportation for you to do so um they want to be in school I asked one of my young ladies like what do you like about Life Academy and she's like I love Life Academy it's the first time I've been able to actually learn math it's the first time I can come and be myself and not have to show up for other people you know and I want those kids to be able to find that love and be able to continue with their education I just have to have the means to be able to do so thank you I will I just interject if I may I'm I paid a visit to the Life Academy right after our last meeting um it is
um it is very structured but it's there's such a positive atmosphere and you know the the kids were smiling and even though they were they were all working and um but they were they were happy to be there and it was it was well done and I'm very impressed thank you bye I don't like when they come to me I I don't hide the fact for the you know the reasons why they're there you're here because you brought a vape pen and you were smoking marijuana on campus that's why you're here you know and we talk about that and so we don't hide it we don't shelter it we don't minimize what they did like you did this so when they get when they do try and get because they're Junior High kids and I've
had to learn Junior High kids because I'm so Elementary but when they start to get sassy and stuff well why can't I well you did this and so that's why you know not letting them forget why they're there um I do have not my kid coming but don't tell the kids it's a secret they're coming the week we get back from Thanksgiving break for a presentation on marijuana use and tobacco use um so just I'm trying to build some community relations I've been in touch with the probation department in Kingman um to set to try and get some things set up and you know work with them to help kind of curb their desire to partake in this recreational use of drugs so um I I like the idea of getting out to the Civic
clubs I don't know if that's possible maybe we can look into seeing that being a reward system that we put into place and bring that back and we'll see what we have to do to but yeah whatever we got to do let's make this girl fighting this is great quantities yeah and what not in would probably make and bridge that connection too yeah the Lions Club has um coming up in December we have a vendor fair event at Coyote Canyon that we're putting on so seeing if the kids want to come on that Saturday and help to like clean up and pick up trash or you know do those things you know just so that they can see what it's like to give back and how fulfilling it can be and gratifying you know within
yourself to do that I want to give them those opportunities that they might not have otherwise awesome I like it yeah thank you so let us know what you think okay thank you yeah thank you guys all for being here yes appreciate you guys coming [Applause] um you're gonna have to do your other part during the meeting yeah we do have another item for our Workshop but we don't have that as an agenda yeah we'll come back to you later uh we have a public hearing that we are supposed to hold so we have to down to item two point 2.1 I've called to order the public hearing pursuant to ARS Workshop first yes I move that we adjourn the workshop Amanda amen all stuck in that motion Charlene Diaz all in favor aye Corey
Burgess hi Amanda amen hi Charlene Diaz hi Anna Boyd I'm Melinda sabrowski so moved uh pursuant to ars-15 938 C and D 15 905 15 15962 D 15 1103c for review of the proposed fiscal year 2023 expenditure budget Dr Stewart Mr President and board members after the 40th Day of School when enrollments and ADM and all of those things are calculated the Ade finance department determines whether or not we need to review a revision of our budget turns out that this year yes we did but we also had reason to do so because of our ending of the contract with ABM and needing to reassign funds around in the budget so this revision reflects both the um recommendations from Ade finance department and the changes we need to make needed to make to run our
own facilities Department you will notice that we've had a very slight drop in enrollment doesn't seem like it I think our principals would tell you it feels like we have more kids this year but it's about nine kids so that didn't result in a big change in the budget but a bit of one so this is the time that the public that has questions about our budget or statements of concerning the budget can address the board yes it is and I would also remind the board that this is the budget built on the funding that was authorized by the state legislature in June for our district based on in ADM we had at the end of last year and folks may have heard about the aggregate expenditure limit which is still in effect which could
in fact mean that we would not be able to spend the entire budget that we have been authorized to have for this year so if that's a question that somebody wants to ask about too that you know that's open for some discussion for us that would mean that we would have about 3.5 million dollars of this 18 million dollars that we could not spend so um and that can be uh that can be changed by the legislature they can have they can vote to override the aggregate expenditure limit uh one year at a time because it is established in the state constitution but that change in aggregate spending is not our district that's a Statewide that is Statewide every single School District in a public school district Public School District No it might it be
in this situation thanks for pointing that out Corey um every single Public School District in the state would be affected by that cut um and uh and it's not even really a cut it is just here you have the money but you cannot spend it and uh so that's 17.5 percent for every public school budget in the state foreign mm-hmm all right with uh no questions from the public at this time we're going to move forward with item 2.3 I need a motion to adjourn our public hearing I'll make a motion that we adjourn the public hearing I'll second that all in favor aye Corey Burgess hi Amanda amen aye Charlene Diaz aye Anna Boyd I'm Melinda sabrowski so I moved all right City Elementary School Board on Thursday November 17th at 6 PM roll
call Corey Burgess here Amanda amen here Charlene Diaz here Hannah Boyd here Melinda sabreski here all present if you would join me for the Pledge of Allegiance I pledge of the United States thank you citizens president if you please sign in in the back call to the public uh this is the time the public may speak to the governing board regarding issues in the within the jurisdiction of the governing board and subject to reasonable time space and Mana restrictions as a governing board May establish comments will be limited to three minutes per individual unless specifically waived by the governing board at the conclusion of the call the public individual board individual members of the governing board May respond to criticism made by those who've addressed the board may ask staff to review a matter or
may ask that a matter be placed on a future agenda however the governing board cannot take action on matters that have not been noticed in advance as part of the agenda uh we have two calls the public three all right I think that person's pretty Siege okay right um I believe two of them are here one is just for a read to the call to the public so we'll start with those that are here Fred Russian thank you president versus board members Dr Stewart Mr Blue Soul I just wanted to share something that I experienced with my wife last week we were on a Couple's Retreat and it was hosted by a Christian Camp who used young people from their Church to help provide services for us during the weekend and one of the things
that they did is they had some little competitive games everybody got points and at the end you got this wonderful new coffee cup that was uh you could refill it all weekend long for free well they had free coffee all weekend and long so it didn't matter but this uh this one Levant that that caught my attention and made me realize how important what it's done here is we were uh all the contests had to do with rubber bands you had to shoot them through various things at different targets and my wife and I did two shots each at this one particular vet where he had to shoot a little paper Target and if you hit it and it spun around the string it was suspended on then you got those points well I hit
one for 80. and I hit one for 30 and my wife hit one for five and the young lady who was there who was helping to record the scores apologized as she got on her phone to add 80 and 30. and five and I that that moment right there it just struck me that that young lady had been uh not provided the opportunity to learn how to do that and I like I said it just made me realize even more than I already have how important to work with this sport is so thank you I just wanted to share that thank you all right next we have Brock and Leanne Cameron are you here I mean you're also in the agenda this is the this is the agenda okay um just what Dr Stewart's making
me were you I guess you are the parents of an agenda I am um just so you are aware what is said here is public yeah on that agenda United item is not so but we'll have a chance to speak to the board but this is something to the public okay all right so we're just going for her original talking about her son and his yeah but what I'm getting at is what you say here is public yes since you're discussing your child that's your choice I can't tell you what but you are needing a chance to talk to the board only later just I wanted to make you aware of that gotcha because we did have another item to kind of discuss because we should bring that up later or bring that up it's
your okay Choice okay um a few weeks ago yeah or uh again thank you for letting us you know get up here and tell you what we're here to talk about but a few weeks ago our son was unenrolled because of eight absences he's a kindergartner um he's got very ill a few times and I'm assuming he got that from school because he literally goes no place else it's school and home and he got a couple pretty bad upper respiratory infections we had to take him to doctor he got a nebulizer 102 fever projectile vomit I'm not taking him to school I'm sure you guys wouldn't appreciate if I did that but eight absences unenrolled nothing we can do about it basically just told sorry try again next year I know it's policy but he
doesn't understand that he's just a little kid and I guess we're here about that and um trying to get the attendance policy changed I know that you know you guys are here to listen to policy and when attitudes of the public and the parents don't don't fit the policy anything assembled policy but I think we'll look at the attendance policy we looked at policies from surrounding school districts we have much more lenient as far as at least having excuse absences like I come back with a doctor's note we're like ah sorry you know doctors note no doctor's note doesn't matter so I guess we would just like the policy to be looked at and revised as something a little more current you know stay home when you're sick but we got some information from the
CDC and also the Arizona Department of Health and they all recommend I got a little something here staying home when sick but school should provide excused absences for students who are sick avoid policies that incentivize coming to school while sick and support children who are learning at home if they are sick schools and early childhood education programs should ensure that employees and families are aware of and understand these policies and avoid language that penalizes or stigmatizes staying home when sick and I guess that's pretty much all I have you got anything like so he has no idea what he is supposed to learn from this and that's something that was really hard for me to explain because I don't quite understand the policy myself is this teaching him to lie when he's sick is it
teaching him to be afraid of touching other people at school because he's afraid he's going to get sick all he knows is that he he got sick over and over and that he got in trouble and kicked out of school and there's plenty of other parents who are really worried about this especially the part of unexcused absences we understand people may be taking advantage but we don't believe that's the case and we want our child to succeed he thrives in that school he loves everyone there his teachers his friends that is his this is his first real Social Development with anyone else we've gone through covid 2020 I had our two and a half year old she was born in 2020 it was we couldn't hand we couldn't talk to anyone we have a multi-generational
household so it was very difficult for us to you know you can't be around this person because they're sick and they work at the casino or this person works here we thought we were through with that we're ready to let them out into the world but we feel like we're being backed into a corner we don't really understand what we're trying to do here and that's what we want to bring up we don't expect you to overturn his enrollment we understand that's the policy we signed in the Havoc we understand well we do have a two and a half year old who we don't want to be doing the same thing with her in a couple years I want to be able to keep her home if she is sick and dead wheel and not
be worried about oh my God if I don't send you to school you're kicked out we got to figure something out okay thank you for your time thank you very much Mr President I can we review the the attendance policy we can please do that uh the next one was a sentence call to the public this was from Lenore Nelson I will read it to the public I'm asking that you not Place Bill Earnest on the board now or ever this a man who sends an email to college announcing he had covid and then two days later posted pictures of himself on Facebook at a Kid Rock concert this endangered the safety of everyone at the concert then while telling colleagues we weren't I'm sorry I wasn't on I'm going to start back over I'm
asking that you not placed Bill Earnest on the board now or ever this a man who sent an email to colleagues announcing that he had covid and then two days later posted pictures of himself on Facebook a kid wrote at a Kid Rock concert this endangered the safety of everyone at this concert then while telling colleagues that he had no symptoms and felt well enough because he was vaccinated proceeded to take two weeks off and provided no lesson plans for a sub he took two weeks off because he claimed he was quarantined I know of no quarantine that took place at the Kid Rock concert I do not think this guy did his job while he was there and we don't need somebody like we don't we don't need somebody not doing their job on
the board this a man who burned so many bridges while at bcsd that all he did while he was there was tear down morale he undermined administration every chance he got and he did much of this publicly on Facebook shortly after he got his new job he made a public comment on Facebook comparing Pete BS bcsd to slave masters and making comments that he will no longer be treated like a slave comments like this were made repeatedly both at school and public forums like Facebook this a man who spent the summer trying to poach teachers from our school and we are facing a teacher shortage was still working in August and September after school had started to steal teachers away that had already committed to pcsd for the year I personally know of one sped
teacher and two gen Ed teachers who are contract who are contacted by Bill after the school had started and asked to quit and come to work at the new school this man is openly trying to sabotage pcsd and now wants to be on the board he tried to hurt bcsd and now claims he wants to help them does this make sense this man who was who when caught who when caught leaving early by Administration blamed everyone but himself this is a man that became so obsessed with a colleague that he went to the school secretary and asked the school secretary for personal information on this colleague luckily the school secretary turned him into Administration I think Bill Ernest is PR is petty child lit childish and vindictive I think billion Ernest has some kind of
petty child and vindictive agenda please wash your hands of this man and never let him be involved at bcsd number 15. now we're in the future respectfully Lenore Nelson that's our last call to the public all right okay at this time we're moving on to item 3.6 adoption of the agenda do we have a motion to adopt the agenda I think motion that we adopt the agenda as presented I'll second that motion and a boy all in favor aye Corey Burgess I'm into amen aye Charlene Diaz the zabroski cell moved item 3.7 donations um we'd like to think at this time all the people who have donated to our district Bullhead City Middle School received portable metal signs a portable metal sign base from Michael Jerry an estimated value of 200 Sunrise Elementary coloring contest
prizes which include 280 fires 280 frisbees 13 Dairy Queen gift cards uh three Walmart gift cards from Mohave County Airport Authority at an estimated amount of 325 dollars and five gift bags from the Mohave County Department of Public Health at an estimated value of fifty dollars we get so many donations that come in from this community we greatly appreciate all of those people who step up and help us thank you so much item 3.8 superintendent reports Dr Stewart Mr President and board members you see the excuse me you see the reports we will show them for the Public's benefit um uh Cass if you'll just start with the first one we're talking here about our student count for the school year so you see we're down a bit from but up from our coveted year
and of course this fluctuates as the year goes along foreign and once again just the first day count and the 40th Day Count this is a little surprising we usually wear up on the 40th Day from the first day but things happen so okay um let's not do those individual ones let's do the no that's okay let's do the collective one if you would and over here where it says cumulative report so last month one of the things that you asked us to do was to do the discipline reports in such a way that you can see changes from month to month and so these are the data from those other attached reports but also for August September and October and you'll be able to see each month where we're going with this so we're
hopeful that we can start seeing some changes in uh in some of our numbers as we move along um oh if you would go back to that one please Cass IE yes please um I did make note at the bottom that you noticed that Diamondback has zeros and that's because of some misunderstanding about how we report things so Mr Bolin and Miss emland are working on getting that all updated so next month when we have this report we'll have all the back data in there as well and be able to share with you you know what's been going on up there it's a matter of what gets reported in Synergy that needs to get reported to the state and those kinds of things so with two new administrators it's understandable that some things maybe weren't
reported correctly and that's okay we fix it thank you um you also asked last month that I give you some reports on what's happening with our new facilities department and so this is the ticket report we have an automated system so if there is a um there is a toilet not working at one of the sites the lead custodian puts in a work order at there's a specific email address in our system that they put that in the information goes into the system Mr Scott sees oh we have a work order that needs to be taken care of he assigns it to one of the now the plumber and um and then the plumber goes and works on it and then the when it's been inspected it's closed um I had to do a little
extrapolating here because we had some information from before ABM left so if you look at the dates on July 1st through September 30th during that time 1250 new reports were opened now there were a whole lot of reports um work requests that were already in the system so this was 1250 additional ones I can't tell you exactly how many there were because on October 7th 4 500 work orders were deleted from the system so we don't know how many there were before that we have that 1250. so during the month 1744 were assigned and or during those months that number is larger than the 1250 because some of the ones that were assigned were those that disappeared um so and the system determines what is overdue we haven't figured out yet what formula or algorithm
it uses we're going to try to figure that out so that we know what that means 694 were closed 48 were reopened one was deleted and then you can see how many were left open at the end of the month and that becomes the starting number for the next month the service time in the response time are in hours and those are really pretty concerning for July to September the time between when a request was put in and the time it was immediate was initially addressed averaged 417.9 hours and the time between it when it was put in and the ticket was closed averaged 3624.1 hours yeah so that simply means that a lot of things were not closed and so the hours just keep accumulating well I can I I mean I know from
my side like when I've put work orders and requests in um when I was up at the high school they sometimes they would actually address the issue but never go in and close the ticket was that something that happened here as well we knew that some of those things happened we also know but you can determine really how many no but the other thing we know is that the number of Open tickets is also misleading because when a ticket did not get addressed people would frequently put in the same request again multiple times so sometimes we had multiple requests for one for one thing so that inflated the tickets yes but it also said that the response time was not there the other thing that we did learn from um uh from from the records
uh is that there were times when uh tickets were closed and in fact nothing had happened so these data are a little suspect I will give you as close to the you know accurate data as I can but what I think we will start seeing is accuracy in terms of as we go we'll start seeing some things change those times change for service time because I I know that but the system gave me a zero all I'm doing is going by the data that's reported in the in this and that was only over eight days seven years they got done immediately because if that's the service times yeah when it got done it's zero time change what what I'm going to say to you Corey is that during that time nothing was done [Laughter] those
were the last nine days of the ABM contract okay but even going down to the next line here we are a month in and somehow or otherwise somehow rather it recalculated it we're talking two and a half three months here one month there yes it's it's the same so we're not improving they're very minimal well I don't think it's accurate I just think it's not accurate at this point you just take the number of of work orders that we have you have 603 carryover right and then those seven days 603 carryover we actually gained some more get to get to 627. now that we go in we did close 464. so if I'm reading this correctly we had 600 I'm going to forget about the open because we don't know what that mean that what
that actually was so we we they closed 694 so let's just go to the 603 on the first line item right um then they had eight days if I'm reading this correctly right and those eight days uh 603 opened and signed again we end up at 627 so nothing it actually got worse during those days yes however what we're seeing in in one month we dropped 464 of those that have been rolling over all the way back from September yeah and part of that part of those 464 were duplicates and 300 of them so 160 well not 164. 65 365 were open and 65 were assigned and those were all taken care of okay the 464 about 300 of those were actually work tickets for the high school district so Mark just closed them out
because they didn't have to do with us so then we had 99. so that left so if that was 300 then that left 164. well about 65 of them were open and close right so there are 99 that from the past I know that it's really confusing Corey and all I can do is go by the data that's presented a way to reset this so we can I can have when James gets back from vacation I can have him reset it so that we can see and just start from sure from the list that he had of all this stuff that needed to be done that was my concern yes is the whole reason we made this change is he told us that there was yes I make the number up because I don't remember
what it was 500 right things that need to be done and they did three right so I wanted to know now here we are a month in yes doing this what'd you get those 500 done yeah and we couldn't do that we did 65 did 65 but now you're telling us follows that got dropped so do we need to make a dent yes they did well and here's what I will tell you no that's those those drop numbers for the high school so yes this is way confusing it is very confusing Corey and here's what I will tell you that Marcus told me and we have thank goodness we hired a plumber um is that um we're just we are keeping up with the current orders yeah not not making much of a dent in
the previous ones but we got it and we're going to but we've got that and part of it is well and part of these current or part of these current work orders that are coming in are really repeats of things that did not get fixed before and we don't have a really good way of knowing if that's the case I like what Jordan said let's we can zero it out we can zero it out and start it over but I still want to know where we're at with that list that we created because yes created a list yes we did I don't remember what the number of those tickets were but I just remember it was about 900. it was like single digit percentage of what got touched yeah um yeah and so that's that's
where the problem was but now we know these 900 problems are we making any ground way or any Headway on this because yes we were mad that it's not getting done and now are we not taking care of it ourselves yeah well I I and you need data to back it up I'm going to say to you it is happening but I ca I will have to give you the data yes because where he was originally looking on service time and response time we really haven't made much yeah is that what he's talking about well in part that doesn't change we rolled it over it was in a system where you emailed it into ABM it's too skewed yeah we made a list on yes and start this Anew I love that idea here it
shows 900 things we can do that we're working on this 900 things shouldn't be repeat because we created that list well a lot of those oh but a lot of those were things that should have been done before no no I'm saying they're not repeat tickets because that's the list we made of 900 things that weren't done so that's not repeat that stuff that we said you're not doing your job on are we making a debt in that because we said hey you didn't do it and I don't yeah I'm not comfortable with us not doing it now that we're in charge absolutely it's an even bigger problem it is a bigger problem so um we'll fix the reports and we'll make it after it all right I appreciate it okay do you like the
format if it's if it no no no no okay so I love the visuals so I do appreciate the visual and the only reason as long as the visual makes sense exactly the only the only reason I did it this way is this is the way it comes out of the system so I can work with James on how that system is set up because it I think it's one that he created so we'll we'll make it work James's fault he's not here we can't blame him and we can't trust will not to tell him [Laughter] okay we'll take care of the report I appreciate it okay all right um the project tracker that you all liked last month um I've updated it a little bit I added some items in that I have not
yet been approved by you but at least you can see how they get added to the system and and where we are so you'll be able to see all of our projects um yeah I wish I could I wish I could take credit for this one but this is this is actually a template right out of Excel and I'm not even sure how they do all the formulas and stuff but I think it's a pretty slick system so if I could figure it out I would do this with the facilities report but I don't know how to do that okay uh Cass the next one please oh and this was just simply my written report to you about about facilities and uh and the little visual there so you would understand how it is that
we figured out that the irrigation bill at Fox Creek has been very high for a long time for the football field so enough said about that so unless you have questions about it okay I have one one item that I'd like to add when I came back to work this afternoon I'm looking at my mail and I had in the mail address to the school district from a Mr Carl zickler in St Louis Missouri this nice card and he said Dr Stewart Miss obrique Miss Cuevas Miss Bravo and Miss Feliciano those other ladies are our Filipino teachers at Fox Creek who were featured in The Washington Post news article and he said I read your story in the week so I think this must be some local paper in the St Louis area November 11
0742022 issue after reading I needed to write and say thank you for answering the call to Arizona thank you for the efforts and sacrifices you've made to become teachers I'm married an elementary school teacher she's now retired I would get angry about the amount of time her life went to her classroom and her students it gives me a small understanding of what you are working to accomplish thank you for teaching our children and I will be sharing this with those four ladies at Fox Creek Carl zickler Missouri P.S but it's a dry heat ask Dr Stewart [Laughter] and I thought you would appreciate hearing a positive positive feedback for our Filipino teachers from somebody not in our area can we make sure to send them a response absolutely thank you that'd be great and unless
you have other questions I do have a question if I may sure um on the discipline report I think I know but just for the sake of everybody else what exactly what reports are going into that is it dress code violations is it aggression what it's it's more serious offenses so dress code violation is not likely to go into the state report any aggression any abusive drugs or alcohol disruptive behavior those kinds of things and then one of the things that we figured out in having some discussions about the about how the numbers get reported and the principal's looking at looking at each other's numbers and recognizing that in in Synergy in the student information system when you put in a discipline report you have whatever the offense is but let's say that two students
have been in a fight okay well that fight might have been some name-calling and some other things might have led up to that fight well name calling can fall under harassment it can fall under bullying that kind of thing Defiance disrespect yeah Defiance disrespect so if you put into the system those three things let's say you put in defiance bullying and fighting the system records that as three incidents well it isn't really it's one incident with two ancillary things and so they all got they all came to an understanding then of oh okay it really is only one incident I don't need three incidents reported for one but I still need to record these other things so there are ways to do that in the system so we're refining we're refining how we report okay
okay thank you yeah thank you any other questions for Dr Stewart at this time all right moving on to 3.9 board member updates uh do we have any updates for the board no okay item four consent agenda do we have a motion to adopt the consent agenda as submitted I'll make a motion to adopt the agenda as submitted annaboid wait a second I'll second Melinda sabrowski all in favor aye Corey Burgess I'm Amanda amen aye Charlene Diaz hi Anna Boyd I'm Melinda sabraski so I'm out item 5.1 jlcb immunization of students second reading is there any questions or concerns with this policy if not at this time I would move that we adopt uh policy jlcb immunization of students I'll second that motion oh excuse me excuse me Charlene so that was the second by
Charlene Diaz correct all in favor aye Corey Burgess oh I'm Melinda sobrowski thank you Amanda welcome oh wait I am a Boyd hi Charlene Diaz hi Amanda Heyman yeah he's starting item 5.2 uh jldab referral to other agencies this is also a second reading do we have any questions no no okay then I move we adopt JL DBA well second Amanda Eamon sorry sorry I'll still second Amanda thank you all in favor aye Corey Burgess I'm Melinda sabrowski hi Anna Boyd hi Charlene Diaz I Amanda amen so moved uh item 6.1 revised budget Dr Stewart Mr President and board members I would like for you to approve please uh revision number one of the fiscal year mno and Capital budgets if you have any questions no then I would move that we adopt our revised
budget I'll second that motion Charlene Diaz all in favor aye Corey Burgess I'm Melinda sabrowski hi Anna Boyd hi Charlene Diaz hi Amanda amen so I'm out our next item is consideration of re-enrollment for student number 40680 into kindergarten at Desert Valley this is an item that can go into executive sessions we just need a motion to convey to to move into executive session I'll make a motion that we moved to Executive session oh second that motion all in favor aye Corey Burgess I am and amen aye Charlene Diaz hi Anna Boyd I'm Melinda we are an executive session motion to close executive session and re-enter into our item 7.2 discussion and consideration for the re-enrollment of student 40680 into kindergarten at Desert Valley Mr Burgess I I think that we should reinstate this child
um out of his eight absences four of them were with doctors notes um I think the parents were taking care of their child and at that time and I think that he needs to be reinstated all right um any other comments I would like to add to that in that same exact mannerism this is a situation where the student reached that goal due to an illness that was documented um so I I agree any other comments just a big thing on the doctor's notes okay they've got a doctor's note so with that do we have uh was that a motion that was a motion I was second I will second that motion Corey Burgess all in favor aye Corey Burgess aye Amanda Ayman aye Charlene Diaz aye Anna Boyd I'm Melinda sobrowski okay moving on
to item 8.1 there's something no 8.2 oh okay yeah sorry 8.2 uh consideration of candidates to complete the term of an avoid Dr Stewart um Mr President and board members we have two individuals who have indicated interest in filling the vacant soon to be vacant position Barb zarzicki and Bill Ernest and um you certainly are allowed to have conversations with these folks since that particularly since that didn't happen in uh we didn't have we ran out of time in the workshop for you to do so yes unfortunately we did are both candidates here Miss arzicki is here all right so let's go I do not see Mr Ernest a chance to address the board thank you it's strange to be on this side uh I put my letter of interest in to run to fill
Anna's seat uh having been a teacher for 25 years in the junior high uh 20 of it in Bullhead five of it Mojave Valley um I've always been interested in what's best for the students and best for the kids in the in the area and stuff I've been involved with the community since 1978 I've been out here so it's not something that I'm just lightly coming into and I'm always for the betterment of the kids and the betterment of the district and the school and stuff any questions thank you all right sorry do we have Mr President do we have anybody who would like to speak instead on his behalf uh do we have anybody in the audience who would like to speak on his behalf no okay um with that let's discussion I'd like
to start um I'd like to start with uh I've known Miss sarziki for a very very long time um and I can say that uh being one who has served many years on this board and I'm about to sign off um I would feel very very comfortable knowing that it would be in good hands um amazing lady who's given lots of time and energy and effort to our community um that that's my personal opinion um I I really don't know quite where I'm at with this because miss sarzicki or Barbara in my case is one of my best friends um and so I'm not I'm not sure I'm not sure that I should not just recuse myself from the vote understandable but I I firmly agree with you I've been with her as as an
educator and as a friend and as a community member and she is definitely somebody who's out there working on behalf of not only kids but adults too she works works well with everybody we couldn't ask for a better candidate in my opinion I just appreciate that once again I mean we're a board of Educators up here and it's nice to see two Educators on the list again I mean that's really nice to see regardless of whatever is going on but I do have to say that uh Miss isaki was one of my teachers at Bullhead City Junior High also and I I thoroughly I learned how to make oven mitts I learned how to cook I learned how to do a lot of things um but I know that she's here she's got the best
interest of the community and the students at heart I mean that's why she's here and and that's what she's been doing for her years anyone else like that I would be comfortable with her taking my seat yeah since I'm sad to go but life happens so any other comments can I make a motion absolutely okay I move that we recommend is that how okay so we recommend um to the County Superintendent yeah Mike file's office um that barb um field vacancy yeah feel the vacancy of Anna Boyd I'll second that Amanda all in favor aye Corey Burgess hi Amanda Eamon uh Charlene Diaz hi Anna Boyd I'm Melinda sabreski so we'll get that sent off welcome Mr ziki we'll get that taken care of thank you for your willingness okay item 8.3 proposed calendar for
the school year 2023-24 Dr Stewart Mr President and board members you have a proposed calendar that has been discussed and uh recommended by the superintendent's advisory employee advisory committee as you know this year we combined that committee with the meet and confer committee and it allowed us to get on this what we thought was pretty early although the high school kind of beat us to it so um they took it to their staffs and we had a meeting last week and they they recommend this and I also recommend this is our calendar for the next school year the only real well the only real difference is that we start on July 21st I mean I'm sorry 31st oh my goodness no well we have done that in the past unfortunately but you know the 31st
two days earlier than the high school for the simple reason that on when the high school does parent conferences they also have students present that day this year the current school year when we had parent conference in the fall we did not have students on campus we didn't do the half day students and then the evening and then the following morning we did a long day a 12-hour day and and consistently our teachers and parents liked that schedule so we will not have students on campus the two parent conference days on this calendar which meant we needed to start two days earlier so that really is the only difference from the high school calendar there are differences from the current calendar primarily that the professional development professional development day has moved to in most cases
the Third Friday and each month once again to match the high school's calendar because that is the one Friday each month that tiny T-Birds will be open and so many of our staff depend on Tiny T-Birds for for child care and so uh Flex Fridays still we have we will have Flex Fridays yes so high school won't have fun okay and the high school does not but that's that really doesn't affect much of you know relative to the two districts otherwise they're the same calendar all right any other questions no then I move we adopt the proposed calendar I'll second that motion all in favor aye Corey Burgess hi Amanda amen aye Charlene Diaz hi Anna Boyd I'm Melinda sabreski so moved item 8.4 and restricted capital outlay projects Dr Stewart uh Mr President and
board members um yeah if you would bring that up please thank you um if you noticed in the revised budget that you just approved that I increased the amount of money in the unrestricted Capital because like those are the only two budgets where we can kind of move money back and forth and we have a number of things that need to happen uh in our district one is a nice to happen and but really should happen and that has to do with the playground for life skills students at Desert Valley that is a woefully under underappropriate playground for those students and Mrs Lott and special ed people work to get equipment with idea Grant so we're going to have about a hundred thousand dollars worth of new equipment some of which has already arrived that
we need to place because of the nature of the students we really need that rubber that poured rubber surfacing that runs about 15 to 20 dollars a square foot or a yeah a square foot so it's pretty expensive and the idea will not pay for any kind of surfacing nor will it pay for appropriate fencing so I'm asking for approval to use our unrestricted capital for we need to move some fencing around and on that playground and we need to change some of it from four feet to six feet we'd like to have a sidewalk inside the fence that would serve two purposes one it gives a race track if you will tricycle race track for the kids but the other thing is it forms the it becomes the boundary for that Ford surface so
instead of just a curb we would have a sidewalk in there and it reduces the amount of the poured surface that we would have to have um that's a very expensive the port surface is very expensive I'd like us to use up to twenty five thousand dollars of our unrestricted capital and seek grant funding perhaps from Legacy perhaps from some other uh Grant fund to cover the other half for us so that's a big piece of this request the second part has to do with security and I won't read it all to you because I know you've read it um but in in doing some security inventory of our campuses our weakest and most vulnerable vulnerable places are our kitchen and custodial entrances and only two of our sites have those fenced and gated and
one of those coyote was just done this year so um we need we need to do some fencing we know we've got doors and locks and those kinds of things that need to happen but they're hugely expensive um and we will need to plan for that much more seriously to get those things done so this seemed like a pretty good step so Cass if you would scroll down to page two please so all of these projects together with taxes and whatever would be about a hundred and sixty thousand dollars of our Capital it is built into the budget that you just approved uh if you approve this and I'll answer any questions you might have any questions no I'm just shocked that that rubber is more expensive than than cement it's just mind-boggling to me
how expensive that is and it has to be about it has to be at least six inches deep um and it literally comes as a liquid and they use something that looks almost like a cement truck you know with the nozzle and the you know to put it in or cake frosting or whatever but I mean it's it's a it's a liquid that gets poured and and then it sets up as rubber okay do we have a motion I'll make a motion that we um approve the expenditures to the help me out here unrestricted capital outlay projects go for it I'll second that motion all in favor aye Corey Burgess I Amanda Ayman hi Charlene Diaz hi Anna Boyd I'm Melinda sabreski so I moved um 8.5 revised regulation gccara professional support staff paid time
off Dr Stewart Mr President and board members you see the recommended change in this regulation for a number of years for many years now PTO remuneration has been after an employee has been here five years at fifty dollars a day way back in the day when Doug Lutz was superintendent one of the things that he taught to some of us who were administrators at the time was that you look for you look for ways that um respect people who stay and incentivize longevity and uh and that at the same time allows you to plan your budgets well in advance and so at the time he presented to that board a similar change to this regulation and it was approved somewhere several years later it disappeared and so I discussed this idea with the superintendent's employee
advisory committee last year and then just didn't get it to you all but they like the idea of you know us figuring out a way to make it you know make it more palatable to stay good we settled on 4 8 and 12 years and the amounts that you see here so you know it's it's not a huge expense to the district and yet at the same time it's a good morale Builder and an incentive for people to stay uh you know one more year any questions I like this change as well all right so with that I would like to uh since it is a regulation we can approve it on a first reading uh so I'd like to move that we approve revised regulation gcca r a I second that motion all in
favor aye Corey Burgess I am into amen aye Charlene Diaz aye Anna poit I'm Melinda sabrowski so moved uh item 8.6 exhibit ije instructional resource and material parental objection to learning materials and activities Dr shorty Mr President and board members a change in the policy that came out as a result of the legal changes over you know from the last legislature but it also resulted in the need for a forum for folks to fill out regarding observation of materials so we borrowed this and modified it slightly borrowed it from another district and modified it slightly to fit our needs and so simply an exhibit of a form that we would Implement for folks who want to question some of the things going on all right do we have a motion to adopt I move we

Boyd I'm Melinda sabrowski so I'm out uh item 15 won uh future topics do we we have one that we have one with the attendance attendance policy uh anything else that we'd like to see on the next meeting if anything does come up please let us know and we will get that put on the agenda for us um 15-2 upcoming board events nothing scheduled I know that Mr Rushton who's left and Melinda are going to asba next month yes we are for the new board member training and so I think that's that's good news and then um that's upcoming stuff one one of the things that I would well yeah on the agenda next month is your evaluation of me a superintendent but you were sent the current form that's not the current form that's
the one I asked you to consider for next year unless you want to consider it for this year but the one you received from Cass I think you sent it out already yeah the one you received from Cass is the one that is currently an exhibit in the board policy book so that's what we need that's the one you probably should use this time and then I I wanted to give you lots of time to look at the other document because one of the things that we can do with that is we can get an asba person to come do some training on on using the new superintendent tool awesome that might be cool and I think that would be I think that would be a good thing for all of us me you everybody
involved absolutely before we actually have to do it when I was over at Desert Valley this is just a an upcoming event and I'm not sure it's a board event but that she was talking um the principal or was talking about a meeting about how to how to feed your family during the during Christmas break or in Thanksgiving break it might be something that one of us or two of us should attend so that we can confirm that we are concerned about this you know that we do have kids that will probably not be eating Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas dinner okay we can find out about that event and and share the information with all of you would you please do that yes um I will piggyback on that Mr brosky that um Cherie Norris
our homeless coordinator uh has been working with all kinds of agencies in the community I know that um Lance went did a photo op this week at the Aquarius for meals for our some of our families and those kinds of things so um she works really hard to make sure that there are fewer of those children who don't have meals than there might be otherwise and and I also learned that we're no longer and I don't know when it stopped sending uh weekend meals home didn't we used to send backpack meals home that stopped about eight or nine years ago really that long ago okay yeah it was oh didn't stop I thought it did just ran out of funding yeah yeah okay I knew it had cut back some when when I was still
working in the district before and then but it was all Grant funded so I think there were issues with that okay yeah so um those are the only things I know coming up anything else next meeting okay number eight uh next meeting December 8th I am not available on that day neither am I and neither am I so let's pick a new one let's pick a new date nope we're not letting you out too bad the Thursday after that um I'm out of town with Mr Rushton oh yeah so uh Lance you forgot the winner on December 10th you forgot the Winter Fest on December 10th right um so how about putting it the first of first of December December you can do the first that's like the last Thursday that I have available for
the month of December yeah exactly that's only that's two weeks that's only two weeks are you guys I'm good with that it's two weeks from now or we moved can we move it to like December to a different day different you could move to a different way like December 6th that same week can't do the sixth City councils yeah um is anything happening how about Monday the 12th is the crushed governing board oh is it okay that solves that is anything going on Monday the 5th I I will be here but you guys are welcome I'm I'm teaching math at that time okay well you know me I'm not the one screwing this is it the past that we don't have time to do by by the first yeah I don't have a problem of
okay I mean it is without any budget constraints or anything no time frame no we're we're covered on that because the approval you made tonight of that revision well beats the December 15th deadline the state has so sounds good and I don't know about you but I'm okay with getting that December meeting maybe we might need an executive an emergency meeting right now after that for him 20 sessions later 25 more I get to read we can we can make it work for the first time I'm okay with that December do it let's do that and then that frees everybody's December up and yes if there's anything that's emergency and pressing we'll figure it out okay it works for me well that was you need a motion to adjourn I'll make a motion to adjourn
one second I'm sorry um we had our call to the public earlier okay contact Dr Stewart the only reason is there's a certain time during our meeting for call to the public which we've already held so and with your call to the public just so you're aware I don't know if you if you caught it I didn't see when you did come in that item is actually the top of our meeting that we're having on the first is addressing our attendance policy um so that is something that we are discussing um you need to get a hold of Dr Stewart and then she can get a hold of the process of what you need to do to get it on the agenda because we can't even we can't even discuss that without it being on
the agenda yeah so it has to be on the agenda did you have conversations with Cass and and she indicated that you needed to let her know if you wanted it on the agenda I talked to her the day I left the meeting with Cassandra the principal but did you talk with this Cassandra about getting on the agenda right but you suggested that he has to be on the agenda I'm available next week if we needed to so we can have him speak with you guys so we're not in any violations speak with you guys and get it scheduled we can I'm available to come in if need be just to put that out there um okay available in the daytime if you'd rather have a quick one in the daytime are you available in
the daytime folks that way you guys can work that out so we're not in any and all right I'm fine we'll figure it out um we'll figure it out yeah okay so yeah Cass will contact you and set it up okay okay um reach out again just in case or just stay after and speak with her and that way she can get it thank you for like a Monday Tuesday or a Wednesday yeah I'd be early in the week because we don't want to be absolutely absolutely so yeah the earlier I'm okay with that too everybody okay with that is that a possibility the only day I can do it on is would be Monday night Monday night I'm I'm fine with that too so yeah that's that works that works for me too I
apologize we just have procedures we have to follow so yeah but we'll we'll have hold another meeting so we'll get in here and get that done all right so with that I just need a motion to adjourn I'll move we adjourn I second that motion all in favor aye Corey Burgess I'm in Eamon aye Charlene Diaz hi Anna Boyd I'm Melinda sabrowski hey so I'm out thank you
