[Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right i call this uh workshop to order uh roll call amanda amen here charlene diaz here anna boyd here melinda sabrasky here all right dr stewart capital and other projects board members um we have a number of projects underway right now and so i thought you would appreciate an update so next door at the middle school the sewer project we are at the stage where they have been putting the tile in the restrooms the last few days we expect the fixtures to be put in the toilets and them and the urinals and the sinks and all of those things by early finish up with that early next week and then early next week they'll be putting the tile in the music room so that project will be

wrapped up should be wrapped up by the middle of next week total cost with everything so if you recall the bid for doing the plumbing part the big bid for that was 115 000 with the tile and the other work that we had to do in there to finish up the total cost for that whole project is 168 and so that's parts labor tile new sinks new toilets all of those things and if you have any questions i'll try to answer them as we go along otherwise i'll just keep talking it's all set ready to go it'll be ready to go it'll be ready to go yeah okay and it looks very nice it looks very nice okay an esser project now keep in mind that middle school project is it was out of our

budget because of the time that we needed to get on it we could not wait for a june or july meeting of the sfb so that's out of our budget and it's out of last year's budget okay okay one of the esser projects is the entrance for diamondback and if you recall last month i showed you kind of how that's going to look that bid was awarded to redmond construction for a total of thirty six thousand two hundred thirty five dollars and they have ordered some things and they are awaiting the permits okay awesome the fox creek project the elevator uh for the entrance we did put out bids on that we did not get any bids so we we have uh reissued those and and the the vendors said that they're just swamped they're

swamped with work so we've reissued the bids uh with a timeline of having the project done by by december so we thought if we gave a little longer work timeline on those bids that we would probably get some more bids from people and and as you know we have we really have bad carpet throughout the district a couple of classrooms at fox creek were so bad that they were actually dangerous and so in june i had the lead custodian i said just pull the carpet out when we selected the tile for the music room at the middle school i said let's also put out a corresponding bid for this using the same tile at those two rooms at fox creek and these kind of become our test rooms at this point for the product to

see if that's the product that we want so so they will be doing that before school starts the cover for the fuel tanks we only had maybe we had more than one bid we might have had two bids on that i'm sorry i don't quite remember uh but again redmond got that bid uh 94 178 dollars considerably higher than what we thought it would be however um what we wanted what we knew we wanted was more than a carport and so in my head i hadn't calculated enough money for something that's a little more structurally sound than a carport they have ordered parts and and the things for it but they are also waiting for the permits for it okay okay um hvac you have on the agenda tonight and even though you all said

that for any of the projects that we had approved or that you had approved the whole project stress structure for us or three uh this is such a huge project we felt we needed to bring the bid to you and talk a minute about that in the uh you know in the meeting and have you approved the bid there were seven bids which was very nice to have the lowest being six hundred thousand and the highest being a hero over a million seven okay uh mark scott is as i've told you before extremely experienced in these kinds of things and uh he and jenny beck and i were the ones and kim was here too when when we opened the bids and put all the information down but then you don't say right then on

a project that big you don't announce who gets the award right then because you need to look to see if the awards have all the pieces you need and so mark followed up starting with the lowest bidder and said are you sure you included whatever whatever and they had not the lowest bidder had not the next uh the next bidder up had almost all of the things but was missing a couple and so this bid that we're recommending to you was the third lowest bid and actually was only about forty thousand dollars less than the fourth bid so the bids came in most of the seven came in below i think five of the seven came in below a million dollars um or right at a million and then there were the two that were

quite a bit higher um the bid is that we're recommending to you is from a company in lake havasu that's been in hvac business for over 70 years and meets all the requirements so we're pretty excited about that we also had as an esser project what we thought would be just the fire alarm panels at a number of our sites and the bids started coming in and we're stunned by them because we're thinking the panel so we're thinking ten to fifteen thousand dollars perhaps per panel what we've learned is the panels in all of our sites are so old that uh the only way we could replace a panel in any of those sites would be to find one similar that's been rebuilt because the fire systems are no longer the same so what we're

all used to of the old pull you know of the pull stations where you pull the station and then it makes two wires connect and that sets off the alarm that is obsolete no system is like that anymore all the systems have uh have digital integration and so when you pull the alarm there's a sensor that then notifies notifies the panel of exactly the location of the fire and then the horns instead of just blaring a noise say fire in room 306 or fire alarm in 306 or fire alarm in cafeteria or whatever it's very specific so it means that in our sites we can't just replace the panels we'll have to replace the entire system so the bids are in the neighborhood of 90 to 100 000 each and we had a total in

the grant of 90 000. so um we were rethinking some of those things okay uh friday before independence day i'm on my way to gilbert and jen calls and she says you can't leave town [Laughter] i said i'm at wakey up and uh the panel or the alarm went off at coyote mark went over alarm tech person came over that panel is dead not repairable it is dead okay yeah it has so the system has to be replaced so we know we're going to be in the neighborhood of ninety thousand to replace that one um we did check uh on tuesday when on tuesday when i came back we checked with fire marshall because that site is sprinkled has sprinklers we don't have to have 24-hour fire watch okay that was my question about fireworks

well we thought we were going to and we had it set up and we'd caught and we'd contracted with abm workers to to do the you know the 18 hours that we don't have people there um but then i talked specifically with barbie the fire marshal and she said since it's sprinkled you do not have to have the fire watch but even and we have put that bid out by itself because it has to be done and so they'll have to come in make estimates and then the system has to be designed and created so we're looking at we're looking at six to eight weeks we're going to have to work with the department of health and other agencies because the preschool is there and of course they require that we have a fire system

so we're going to have to work with them to to get us through the time that it will take to get that replaced we then are looking at not doing four other sites like we originally planned but in my conversation with barbie middle school is not sprinkled and that panel is very old that will be our priority second one to replace because if if that one goes down we would have to close the school or have 24-hour firewatch firewatch which is expensive and yeah yeah yeah so i just kind of wanted you to know that you know sometimes the emergencies it's a good thing that we were already thinking about fire panels but sometimes the realities are you know change the priorities a little bit okay all right and then we're going to talk i'll

talk in a minute about the bus bus thing the housing project uh we have put out two requests for uh proposals to engineers to engineer the groundwork and get us started on that zero responses mark has talked to some of them and it's because they are and we and i'm talking about bullhead area mohave county and the state contracts no one responds they are so slammed so we'll do a third one i think we're going to try to reach out to las vegas somebody you know in the las vegas area at this point to see if there's somebody who's interested in doing it so that's kind of on hold it's bad that's bad news the good news is that we got the letter from the ade la last week i think last week that the

process for that september 30 of 2023 deadline and then having to reapply and start the process to extend that one year they've changed that so we don't have to reapply so we have another year that took a little of anxiety away jen and i constantly hear clocks ticking in our heads but at least the clock is not quite as loud on that project as it was okay the um and then so those other than the first one which was next door the rest of those are all esser projects last month i provided for you some information about the situation at transportation and the deplorable deplorable restroom situation we have over there we did put out bids requests for bids and we split it into three pieces as you all asked us to do so one

piece was to do what work needs to be done in the big building okay and and get a good restroom in there one was to add a restroom repair the floors and do what needs to be done in the trailer and then the third one was the foam for the roof so that we could have better insulation and reduce our energy use we only got one bid for each of those two two of them were from redmond construction and the roof one was from mojave roofing and the prices were much more than i anticipated even much more than mark anticipated so when we get to the business part of the meeting i'm going to want you to talk about where you want us to go with this but i do want to share some information

with you so the the building itself the big building that bid is 57 876 dollars probably 50 percent higher than we thought it would be the uh to do what we wanted done in the trailer the bid is 59 800. five nine wow yeah because that would be adding a restroom fixing the floors those kinds of things and then the foam for the roof actually is the one that came in pretty close to what we thought it would be it's 5733 so the cost for the any work to the trailer uh is is right at 65 000 so um you know i'm choking on that and thinking do we want to do we want to think about putting that much money in an old trailer so i did some other research because i know that

there are modular restroom units out there that you know our prefab you bring them in and set them on your slab and you know and you're good to go so i did some research on that i asked for some quotes from some companies and they haven't come in i haven't gotten those yet but mark and i did some because he's pretty knowledgeable and even now that uh all these surprising increases in costs um he's getting closer in his in his estimates so uh cassie if you would um yes that one that you have so this is the floor plans for um one unit that i looked at and you can see it's just two restrooms they're unisex so since we have both men and women it didn't seem to me to make much sense to

have one marked men and one marked women it's just whoever gets there first gets to go in and they both have a toilet and they both have a urinal and they both have a sink they are ada accessible so we would put this flat on the ground you know flat on it on a concrete slab and uh and it would be accessible and this would be prefab and it would just come in and they would just bring it in on a truck and we'd offload it and put it and connect it to our plumbing and electricity okay the the other one that's marked the same that's easy yes and so this is what it would look like okay so this would be in place of the trailer we could we could sell the trailer at

auction and we could include in specifications that whoever purchases it is responsible for removing it and then we would not have to pay for removing it so if we were to do that uh you know that would be that would be one of the stipulations okay okay so that's one uh cassie would you put up one of the others please okay and then there are this is from a different company uh and essentially the floor plan looks the same um it's just not quite as attractive perhaps um and that doesn't mean that we couldn't put some other kind of a roof on top of it or whatever but this is what's available and then the third one this is another one and this one actually has another little roof on it um we're guessing uh

estimating that any of these three units would run 35 to 40 000. okay so then yeah so then you put three thousand for the concrete pad because there is no concrete pad under that trailer fifteen hundred dollars for plumbing twenty thousand or not twenty two thousand for electric electrical hookup and whatever and probably 10 000 for ac we're now at 51.5 for a brand new building for a brand new building and we would lose the training room and we would lose the storage so once i went through that because i i was pulling all this together because i really wanted you all to have some good information but it really educated me you know it gave it really showed me that you know maybe the sixty five thousand to fix what we have and keep

a training room and keep a storage area doesn't look quite so bad to me as it did 48 hours ago so i wanted you to be you know and as i say i haven't actually received the quotes from them but i'm i'm thinking that it's probably in that neighborhood and here's another reason that i'm thinking that in looking for those i found one of the trailers one of the units that i found had uh had two restrooms but they had one of them was a women's and it had two stalls and a sink and the other one was men's it had one stall and a urinal and a sink and then the mechanical room in the middle but it was double the length of these 147 000 so that kind of gave me some idea

relative to this 35 to 40 000 for these it was the only one that actually had a price listed on the website yeah they don't they don't do that so anyway i wanted you to have that information uh and you know a little bit of time between now and when we get to it on the agenda for you to think about uh think about the relative advantages or to ask questions so what does that do about the the training center i mean if they're using that for transportation and he actually trains in there well where will the training center well they would if they have big groups they use the big room in the in the big building anyway but if they only have five to ten they can use the the room that's uh

in the trailer and if they've only got three or four there's a smaller room that they can use so it depends on how many people are being trained and when if you're doing training during the school year when we have bus drivers coming and going and all these things going on it's not optimum to have that in the big room so and we we almost never have more than five at a time for training so keeping that training room is is has some real value for us um and and to be able to um to reinsulate that route you know insulate that roof we probably could save 25 percent on utilities on electricity just by doing that six thousand dollar thing on the roof but the other thing is that as we change out the

one window will go away um change and change the one of the other windows you know to be low e and just putting little awnings out on the east side of that build of those windows that remain makes a huge difference so reasonably low cost for big gains in terms of saving on saving on utilities for there and maintaining some storage and some of those kinds of things and i will tell you there's not much space in the big building for additional storage in there so so that gives you some information to be thinking about uh to be thinking about um all of these things the other thing i did want to report to you and i'm glad i've got five or six minutes left mark has been walking every site and listing things that

need to be repaired replaced taken care of this is in addition to walk throughs of all of our sites that i had juan and david do specifically to look at our fresh water lines and where the where the valves are and those kinds of things so they they spent four days walking our sites specifically looking at those things taking photographs and prioritizing which of those uh are in in a dangerous situation right now uh they're corroded because we all know bull head water right they're corroded enough that those valves could just pop at any time so so we have prioritized those that need to be repaired or replaced but mark has been walking looking at all kinds of things as of this morning he had put in 242 work requests to abm uh of these

this needs to be fixed this needs to be fixed this needs to be fixed anywhere from something small to something large yes okay some of them can be very small kinds of things but most of them are you know noticeable things okay and 19 have been completed uh this week um and so he and i met this morning because he showed me some more things and i will tell you that some of the things that we're seeing are concerning enough that i look at mark and i go okay you've seen them and taken pictures of them and now you've shown me the pictures of them we cannot unsee these things so it means that some of these things have to be taken care of and we have to set priorities so i wanted you to

know that he and i are meeting next thursday that should give him time to finish walking the rest of the sites and i mean to tell you that when mark walks he automatically sees things that you and i would go oh i never noticed that because that's been his job in the past he that's his that's his expertise so we're going to prioritize and i will tell you the order of priority will be this we are going to push very quickly on anything that is a safety issue i'm not going to put our kids and our employees in any more risk relative to fire safety or any other safety and trespass safety so we're going to address those things first and then we will look at mechanical and electrical kinds of things like i just

talked about those water lines we have prioritized those and and so there i'm guessing because i never added actually added it up there are probably 200 water valve situations in the district and there are probably 20 that are critical so those 20 are going to get addressed first okay there are electrical issues i'm sure there are some of those that are critical and others less so we'll prioritize those but safety is going to be our number one thing and a mechanical plan so next month one of the things that i will bring to the board uh is a plan for so you have some real details of what it is we're going to be addressing and how we're going to do that uh to take care of to take care of things to keep our

people our students and our employees safe well thank you right um so yeah and it's pretty amazing oh and one last thing i'm sorry one of the things that mark found two things that mark found at desert valley that actually have been taking care of this well one has been taken care of and the other one is scheduled for next week a big asphalt playground has a big crack in it and in some places it's five or six inches wide other places it's narrow but it's across the whole thing because it's this humongous piece of asphalt and in the heat it you know it spreads and contracts and spreads and contracts so we're going to trim it not take a big swath but trim it and then there is asphalt filler that can be put

in those thank you that can be put in those and taken care of and then there's a it was another strip next to the basketball court where the asphalt had has had expanded and then made a ridge along the basketball court so that's dangerous so uh yesterday today that was about one foot was cut out hauled off and then we'll fill in between the asphalt and the concrete with pea gravel uh to make that work so perfect some things are happening immediately all right okay all right if i can get a motion to adjourn the workshop i'll make a motion to adjourn the workshop anna boyd i'll second that motion all in favor aye amanda amen aye charlene diaz hi anna boyd i'm melinda sobreski all right moving on to the budget hearing uh budget

hearing uh when i'll need to go call to order okay call the order amanda eamon here charlene diaz here anna boyd here melinda sabreski here okay all right cass if you would pull up from the regular agenda the second item in new business the attachment where it says the fiscal year budget if you pull up that attachment so people can look at it and if you can make it bigger that would be really good okay so this is the summary that you all received this is the summary that was posted with the state and um and gives you the relevant information so if we had people here who had questions about it or if you have questions about it and the it should be today's date oh i didn't change it sorry we will get

it corrected to be that's weird because i have the right right there okay well um two things for you to notice on this is that our adm is up which is nice um perhaps not as much as we would like but it's up the other thing uh second thing you would notice is that our primary tax rate is down by a nickel approximately a nickel and and then when you see the budget i see some errors there because the budget expenditures for prior year 22 2022 is that's not accurate right because it says exactly the same thing they're identical okay i think when we get to this on the agenda you probably could approve it or adopt it with your changes with the changes when we get to that if you choose but you'll notice

that the budget limit is over 18 million almost 19 million dollars that is up by just over that's up by uh over a million dollars and the m o or the uh capital budget is up over a million dollars and that's because of the changes that the legislature made in the in allocations per pupil for students in their budget we are the budget it shows a hair over 800 additional dollars per pupil than what we had last year wow and that is very very nice very nice i have in the line item budget i have put a lot of those extra dollars i've padded some things so that we have reserves because as you know the legislature did not address the aggregate expenditure limit and we don't want to be caught looking this year like

last year so we will hold some things in reserve in case the uh that doesn't go well okay cass when you scroll down a little bit so that here at least in the fist prior fiscal year those numbers are correct and so you can see our salaries for instruction the money allocated for that and this includes some of those reserves but it's up 20 uh because that's where i put a lot of those reserves and the same in special ed whoops come back up please right there yeah thank you um and you'll see uh special ed instruction is up 13 because once again that's where i put those reserves many of them okay now you could go on down and this page shows you the capital budget okay i could have given bill a chance

to ask questions if he wanted but all right can i have a motion to adjourn the budget hearing i move we during the budget hearing melinda sabrowski i'll second that motion and avoid all in favor aye amanda amen aye charlene diaz hi anna boyd i'm melinda sabrowski all right ready to go right in i think so all right i call to order the regular board meeting um roll call once again it's on your on the one next to you that one yes oh there we go i called to order the regular me hey i was pretty much on it you were the bullet city elementary school district thursday july 14 20 42 at 6 pm roll call uh here amanda aymond charlene diaz here adam boyd here melinda sabreski here all right please join me

in the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all all right citizens present please print your name on the attendance sheet in the back of the entrance call to the public call to the police do we have any did anyone bring you you don't have to read it if we have none okay so we'll go ahead and and we'll skip 3.5 then um with the call to the public and we'll wait for mr ross to come back and we'll go to 3.6 adoption of the agenda can i have a motion i'll make a motion to adopt the agenda anna boyd i'll second melinda swarovski all in favor aye amanda amen aye cherlene

diaz aye anna boyd hi melinda sabrosky awesome perfect thank you um 3.7 donations thank you to all who donate to our schools it's amazing we say it each and every time but our community does a lot for our schools and we really appreciate it we have excuse me two donations on the agenda that we'd like to recognize at this time sunrise elementary school district we have 50 water bottles and 100 pencils from andolin i don't know if i'm saying that right i hope i don't mess it up too bad at an estimated amount of 35 dollars and mckinney vento clothes and hygiene products from brandy bates at realty 1 group mountain desert bhc at an estimated amount of one thousand dollars we appreciate you thank you okay so uh 3.5 called it public seeing and

hearing no call to the public mr ross confirmed there was nothing emailed in we just move on from 3.5 sure all right 3.8 superintendents reports dr stewart well you'll notice it's a little slim this term this time in terms of written ones there would not be any enrollment ones there would not be any disciplined ones the work on the budget as far as i'm concerned was the financial report for this month and and we've talked about the building things so i kind of felt like we covered some of those things already a couple of miscellaneous updates that i would like to give to you if you recall we used two grant funds to purchase order a bus a new bus about three weeks ago the representative from canyon state bus from whom we were purchasing

that bus came to meet with us in person uh to share with us that uh bluebird who's the manufacturer of the bus have incr huge increases in costs for their materials and they would have to raise the price of the bus excuse me and with the high gas prices fuel prices they would also need to increase the uh the delivery amount because the bus is being built in on the east coast okay so um but the the good news was that both bluebird and canyon state are eating the cost of that increase most of it it would be 25 to 30 thousand dollar increase and they asked us if we could possibly accept a 9200 an increase of 9 220 i said yes i thought they were doing good business to come in person and

present the issues to us and we had 28 000 in capital outlay that was left over from the savings i paid off the vw loan early saving we saved about i think about seventy five thousand dollars in interest and so we purchased a small bus with it and um and we still had twenty eight thousand so truthfully i would have been as willing to go to 28 000 so i really appreciated the 9220. so i wanted you to know that i went ahead and authorized that the bus should be here in november they also helped us figure out how to because one of the grants expired at the end of june i know expires at the end of september and so we figured out how to uh how to cover the difference from our own

budget so and they helped us with that so it was a very collaborative effort to get this taken care of secondly we had i told you earlier that we've gone through a number of audits this year an excessive number in my opinion but we had food service audit for our regular food service program in april and then in june we had a food service audit of our summer program we came through both of those audits in very very good shape uh the um the young man who came and did that audit was very pleased with uh with how we we did we had just a couple of things that we needed to fix and no findings so absolutely no cost to us for you know penalties or any of those things so i was very

happy about that and then i also wanted to make you aware and because it's something that you might get phone calls about it has been our practice for several years and we will we will continue this to not have visitors on our campuses the first two weeks of school as educators you probably understand this but we want the public to understand it's really important during our first two weeks of school that teachers and students be able to establish their routines and all of the procedures that they do and get into the swing of doing school without having lots of visitors or any visitors on campus we will be very happy to have parents and other visitors after those first two weeks of school it's in our handbook and we will be putting out notice to

let parents know and of course we have back to school nights at all of our sites and that's an opportunity for parents and kids particularly parents of kindergarteners to go visit those classrooms to see how we get from from bus drop off or parent drop off to because that's the anxiety thing i think for parents is you know how's my child going to get to the place where he or she needs to be so we're not trying to be rude or ugly or anything we just want a chance to help kids and everybody establish routines and unless you have other questions that's the end of my report any questions for dr stewart no all right 3.9 board member updates do we have any updates um yeah i was at the leadership conference in june um

kind of disappointed with the turnout from the rural schools i think that there were like four of us from mohave county who were there i did bring back a couple cards for dr stewart one was possible financing for additional housing and the other one was a presenter that might be appropriate so it was it was basically a good conference um i was just a little disappointed that we were not well represented okay anybody else anything thank you if i could add to that um uh the law conference is coming up so i'm you know i know that it's difficult for those of you who are working full-time but our other two board members might consider the law conference it's always very good um i don't plan to attend this year because i do plan to

take a little vacation that long weekend but i am going for the first time to the arizona rural schools association conference in mid-september so um you know we do have another opportunity for some participation of board members and and folks at that one and and that's a good one too so i would be glad to to attend the law conference oh awesome excellent you can arrange that with cass we'd love to have you go okay when is the law conference it is september wednesday thursday friday right after labor day so september yeah september september 7 8 9. okay well if you work with cass on that either tomorrow or next week so she can get hotel and get all those things set up for you i'm not sure that i don't think i've seen the

the information from asba yet that they've that they have that registration ready but we can check we can check on that i think registration is open it's open yeah yeah for some reason july 7th sticks in my mind as maybe the date that it opens so cass can check on that uh for you and get you signed up for that i'm really glad if you're going i'll look into it i don't know thanks mrs browski for going and then already volunteering to represent us again and hopefully someone else can accompany you this time as well um four-point uh consent agenda can i get a motion to approve the consent agenda i'll move that we accept the um approve the consent agenda as presented charlene diaz i'll second that motion adam boyd all in favor aye

amanda amen aye charlene diaz hi anna boyd no melinda sabrasky 4.2 4.2 and 4.7 just for information for me 4.7 point two four 4.7 two four point seven you could amend your um yeah i can mend my motion to accept the consent agenda as presented except for four point seven and four point two and four point two yes and 4.2 and no second i'll second that okay all in favor i am in amen hi charlene diaz hi anna boyd i'm melinda sabroski all right 4.2 administrative reports yes my question on this was for dr stewart and it's because i have not been on the board and i'm i i'm questioning what is the stanford academy um stanford academy or sanford harmony heart stand for harmony excuse me sanford harmony is a program that we use

to help students um make better choices about behavior about relationships with each other it kind of formalizes the things that most of us recall good teachers doing building good relationships uh knowing how to disagree without being disagreeable or fighting is it done all the high points jen so it's done in the classroom and not necessarily by an administrator no it is not done by an administrator is it is it a specific program that it is the teach did the teachers get the information yes they have tools to use you know for the lessons um and and we're we just actually we've spoke we talked about that this week and last week both with our administrators and about the idea of you know the teachers not just giving the students an activity to the activities to

do but participating in them and modeling modeling those kinds of things it is it is a curriculum but the idea that we really want is for uh teachers and students to embed it in all of the things that they do in the classroom including home it's including it's supposed to be it's supposed to carry over yeah um but you know you start it with with the classroom and and uh we have we have uh we have a number of teachers who do it well but we have one teacher who's really good enough at it that she's been teaching other new teachers a couple of years now um and and um was it her classroom jen that she turned around from being a really really difficult group of students yeah so she happened to get a

class that was really difficult and so she started using this and it and it changed the dynamics of the classroom in terms of behavior but then it also impacted their academic progress because they because of you know the culture in the room and what is second step second step was uh we're not doing that yeah we are doing that at the upper grades it's like the next step okay so it it attaches on the end of that and our counselors it does okay i would should just defer to jen to tell you about this stuff second step is like a tier 2 intervention that our counselors use it is a whole program now it's digital we used to have physical materials but it's you know but a classroom is having trouble with a specific thing

behavior or something in the classroom there are lessons the counselor can go on in and do a step in like a tier 2 intervention with the group is it done every week or is it done just as needs happen school or has been they go in a couple schools once a week others once every other week and they they plan it so it's a regular occurrence but they go into the classrooms and sanford harmony is part of the daily plan and the reason why i'm asking about these is because my concern i have a real concern over what what i was seeing at uh as discipline for the young children for k-3 because once they get past three they get up to junior high and then all hell breaks loose right so basically you know

i'm looking to see what we are doing to try and alleviate part of that and these obviously are two programs that we are doing so like is there a chance that sometime i can walk into a classroom and observe this happening sure okay sure absolutely and we're uh melinda so and the rest of you we're we're also working on some things that we did training our administrators did two half days of training this week on some things to help us move into a slightly different approach to how we're doing building discipline and those kinds of things and and we're just learning it will be a two to three year process for us to roll this out but the idea is to address issues early with kids young kids and in in ways that will help

them you know not just consequences for behaviors every every opportunity every time that a student misbehaves is an opportunity to teach and so to really focus on what can we do to help students change those behaviors and and learn different behaviors lots of lots of kids we talked about this you know i worked with littles for a long time jen worked with littlest for a long time lots of times little children don't know they have other options you know they they emulate the behaviors that they've seen at home or among other kids or you know wherever and and don't recognize oh i i had another choice and to start teaching those alternatives so and you do a whole lot of that by just building relationships so we're really pushing the idea of build relationships with

your kids that's another reason for not having lots of extra people in classrooms those first two weeks we're really encouraging our teachers to build relationships with their kids because we all know you know you all know you're all educators kids who like you who respect you are going to learn more they're going to do more and learn more so and that's all based on relationships trust and relationships so yes melinda we're really working on that so we're looking into additional programs yes as as yeah or or better ways to implement what we have yeah okay um the other the flip side of that is is that um and it's and these all think these things all kind of happen together it's not necessarily a cause and effect but you know the laws that were passed

in the state last year forbid us from suspending any child under the age of seven unless there is physical harm or danger so some of the things that we might have sent a student home even for the afternoon we have to figure out different ways of dealing with that and and so all of these things kind of happened at the same time it wasn't like the law made us change what we're doing but it did it did push us a little bit in the direction of doing it faster than we were doing so not a bad thing um are we doing any professional development for our new teachers that are coming in from puerto rico or no the philippines the philippines or for for our long-term subs are we doing any additional training for that

many of our filipinos are not here yet and jen can give you details but i will tell you many of them are not here and they may not actually be here by the first day of school we have a very extensive plan this year we've been very proactive at our sites to plan what are we going to do for those for the what how are we going to arrange our campuses for those classrooms where we know we have teachers coming but we don't know when or for classrooms for for which we have not hired teachers and our and our administrators we tasked them over a week ago with setting up those plans but we also know that some of those positions are going to be filled with long-term subs and so we are in fact

including them in new teacher workshop and returning teacher workshop we would be paying teachers anyway or we would be paying substitutes what they certainly would be paying teachers for those positions so we're we're willing to pay them to come do that and they will be better prepared as well in terms of specifics jen if you're going if you have some things come up to the mic please and share and i actually did meet with our instructional coaches this morning it was their first day back and that is one of our concerns since we do have quite a few coming from overseas so we are recording all of our meetings that we're doing the new teacher the three days of new teacher induction we are recording so we will have all of those ready to go

and james has helped worked with diana verley to know how to do that and um some of it kind of depends on when they get here but our thought is to in mid-september do another training and just pull all of them in on one of our fridays and knowing that a lot of them are from out of the country so part of our training will be the differences between probably their education and our education and the difference in our kids and some of the cultural things that we probably yeah that's what i'm concerned about so but yeah the question is i've already started thinking and planning about when we can do that and it may be we have to do it two different times depending on how the teachers roll in so how many teachers

have not shown up that are supposed to show up so far well we haven't started with teachers yet so you don't know how many are not oh fun yes you don't have any idea on when they're going to show up or how many you're going to show up for we know that we will have about 13 for sure for new teacher induction um but not not all of those are filipinos no probably only about two of them are how many should you have it need to be teacher this year in the neighborhood of 50. we have about 36 total hired and 13 are going to show up for suresies yeah the issue is the issue is them getting a visa approved in the philippines and and they have to that to get that they have

to have a hearing at the embassy in the philippines lance is working to help us expedite that with some communication with our senators our u.s senators because they can speed up that process for us they did last year and so we're working on that as well and i know part of the problem is is if if you don't start hiring a filipino teacher in april and you wait till may june because you're like okay well i have two spots open i need to fill them it's not like they can come in six weeks like they can't just tidy up everything and come on over it's a long it's it's it's a process six to eight weeks easy process to even get them approved before they can get everything to get over here and it's and

it's why we kind of cut off that about the middle of june um mr eastman and other principals were on it early and doing you know doing some early hiring so we know that some will be here but even even they don't know and you know they might be told okay you've got they give they're given a hearing date so say the hearing date is on july 5th um but then they don't and then they might be told well yes we're going to approve but they don't necessarily know if they're going to get the approval on july 6th or july 16th or july 26th and so they can't even arrange their flight to come until they know exactly when they have that so it's it's kind of a it's kind of like rolling the dice

we do have one that had her interview yesterday and she hopes to be on a plane by sunday um i have another that has hers on the i think it's the 25th so she hopes to be here i mean i mean not ideal but she hopes to be here by the first day of school or hopefully a couple days before so we can get her keys and get her working i know there's a couple that have moved their date up we have another one who was supposed to be mid-august and got clearance to have her embassy interview on the 25th as well so it sounds like it's pretty quick once they have their interview you know it's within days that they can fly out our principals have been very creative about you know we we

hire our regular subs through esi but we have also asked some of our paraprofessionals if they would be willing to get an emergency substitute certificate so that we could have them for instance one of them cover a classroom where we know that the teacher we have we know we have a teacher hired they're just not here yet and we're offering to pay for that sub-certificate that emergency certificate um but it also helps us out later in the year if we have several people ill then we know that we have somebody on staff who can go in and you know into a classroom for a period or a day or whatever it is we need to do so we've been very proactive this year as opposed to reactive we were a little reactive last year very

proactive this year in planning how we're going to manage those situations and and if it's a position where there's not a teacher hired right now and there's not a long term sub hired right now the the principals then have split those clas that class for the time being but we will continue to look for teachers and this is not just our problem it's everybody's problem but uh but we're trying to be in front of it okay okay my last question is 4.7 all right let's move to 4.7 the alliance coverage acceptance form sorry i just um you're good that's good what is the a lot what is the alliance the alliance covers our workers comp okay and and injuries so this is the other wing of the trust so the trust is our insurance company

for liability property insurance that side of things and this is the workers comp side uh for if people are injured and and those kinds of things okay okay thank you absolutely um and and we have um this was in the consent agenda but you notice that there is a revised thing for the trust in the actual agenda and so in the rest of the agenda so i'll explain to you why we brought that back to you thank you okay 5.1 update to the trust agreement to add no no yeah you need to approve oh now we need to that's right we need to prove four point two and four point seven since we moved that we approved 4.2 and 4.7 i'll second that motion all in favor i amanda amen hi i'm charlene diaz hi

anna boyd i'm melinda sabrasky all right now 5.1 update to the trust agreement to add course of construction so the trust agreement which you actually approved last last month covers our liability insurance our property insurance those kinds of things it occurred to me after that meeting that i was looking down through that list of things that are on that document cass if you'll if you'll put that document up please so i was looking down there and the one that says oh where is it well now i can't see it no i thought it was on page one it is the item that has to do with us uh ensuring uh uh construction it is the construction one where is that why can i not see it is it on a different page is this page

let's look at the second page maybe it's on page two of course i've considered corset construction yeah there you go course of construction so i was looking through these items and i saw that one and i thought oh we're doing the housing project which is our big construction thing and it occurred to me that i needed to know what this covered and if we should have it so at the time i had kim call and talk with our rep at the trust and what this covers is okay so we have we have a vendor or a contractor in doing things on that property or any of our projects the hvac prop project any of our projects we have a vendor in doing that and and some of the materials so say an hvac unit or

whatever it is we might be putting on on the housing project is damaged in pro you know coming in delivery or is stolen or those kinds of things this would cover that kind of situation for us the the only thing we have to be sure is we don't want to double cover so when we put out our bids for various you know these various projects one of the items that we would ask the vendor is do you have this kind of coverage so if they do then we're not we would not be using this but if they don't this protects us and protects protects everybody so um they gave me a price and i thought this is pretty reasonable uh for the number of projects that we have going on and so i wanted to

bring it back to you and and recommend that we add this coverage to what was already approved okay any other questions no all right can i get a motion i move that we add the course of construction to our current trust agreement i'll second that motion anna boyd all right all in favor aye amanda ayman aye charlene diaz aye anna boyd i'm melinda sabrowski 5.2 restroom renovation for the transportation department dr stewart we discussed this in the workshop and um so we have three pieces to it for your consideration the one one piece is uh the excuse me the renovation or remodel of the restroom situation in the transportation building the second is the renovation of the trailer to include an additional restroom floor floor remodel and associated kinds of things to make that have

two ada accessible restrooms and a suitable training area and the third one is the foam for the roof you could deal with these individually if you want so my thoughts and questions after the workshop would be i understand that the renovation of the restroom and the transportation building is a priority because the conditions that they're in yes and i understand that we also talked about that the cost is almost double what we thought originally that it might fall into i think you said it was 50 it's 50 percent higher than i thought it would be so that's kind of the that's that's kind of what we're finding these days um however though if if you are able to do some if we upgrade those and we get those restrooms up and running then transportation can

use those restrooms while we work on only one it's one i mean i and i'm not i'm not trying to make a point other than the fact that it's only one restroom but yes but it can do these simultaneously yes but it could give us a little bit of time to look into your other options of using either a module or finding something because if we can save 15 to twenty thousand dollars doing one of those modules for the extras then that would offset some of the costs right for that increase and that's why i wanted to give you some other options you know because i thought we needed options so the trailer though if we lose the trailer then we lose the training room and the storage is or is that we do we

do lose and that was the concern that you had as well though is like you wanted that training room in storage of course the transportation people would like to retain that okay um yes and for me you know i mean i can argue it both ways i'm in favor both way i mean either way my big concern is making sure we have appropriate restrooms for our for our uh for our employees can we can we make do can we do whatever with without a training room but the other thing i could do if you would want because i did notice in some of those things that i was looking at that there are those prefab units that have two restrooms and have a small training i was going to ask is there an extension piece

that you can yeah and it's all a one unit thing so i mean it you know this is why it's a good idea to have these as separate i'm really glad you all decided last month to separate these because it gives us some options to look at and um uh and some time to look at them because we would not do these two things simultaneously we have to have we have to have a restaurant we could never do these separated yeah we could not do these simultaneously anyway but then it helps if you give me some directions so if you want me to find out more information about modular units and whatever you can say okay bring us back some that are just restrooms bring us back one that has restrooms and a training room

you know that gives me some options and some direction from you all of how you would like to handle this yeah i definitely think looking at a possible replacement because i mean how old is that trailing old it's been there i i don't even remember when it was put there it's been so it's been a while it's been a while yeah i'm at least 25 years if you're gonna invest i would say really close to 25 years because it was right after they oh man they moved they moved that trailer from someplace else i think oh i didn't even know that that's what it's hit in the back it's been there in the back of my mind so it's time to take a look at it yeah i'm sure i would like to see additional

um yeah for that outside for different different units other than that i would definitely want to take the time okay yeah because if we can sell that trailer we have a little extra money to pay for the pad get a little yes we would yep yeah yes we would and i think it's definitely important to maintain that that space for them even if it's four or five and they're sitting in a small room to do that training like you said to go into a big room that everybody's going through or they're they're a part of that's going to be very difficult to train and and and get what we need done so i think it would be advantageous to have that on there yeah and and the roof is for the for the trailer it's

just a trailer so we would totally if we're yeah we just wouldn't do that and the only thing we're concerned about right now is and that has to be done the big building regardless renovate the restroom in the transportation building with the vendor that we received for the 57876 and i would like to see that the additional restroom related area pertaining to the trailer you dr stewart go back and seek some more information for modules and with the addition of a training area for them okay that's mine storage bringing this can always buy an extra shed for that can i get a second i'll second that motion all in favor aye amanda amen aye charlene diaz aye anna boyd i'm melinda sabrasky thank you i appreciate the direction all right 6.1 proposed budget dr stewart

you'll notice that you have both a proposed budget and a fiscal year budget for adoption the superintendent failed to put the proposed budget on the june agenda and so i'll get my hands slapped but nothing more serious than that but we still have to approve it so you'll see that it is identical to the fiscal budget um just out of curiosity cass would you pull up the attachment to 6.1 it still has the same date it still has that okay well no it has the correct numbers it has the correct the proposed is is correct that's correct for date but it doesn't have the correct number for numbers for expenditures budget expenditures yes yeah they're the same but at least the date is there the date's correct the date's correct on the proposed but the

budget for adoption is is the right i think right so um so we do need to i do need you to approve this with corrections please all right give me a motion nope i'll make a motion that we approve the proposed budget with the corrections i'll second amanda amen all in favor aye amanda amen aye charlene diaz hi anna boyd hi i'm melinda sabrasky all right 6.2 fiscal year 23 budget for adoption and again this is the this is the document that you looked at during the hearing so um there obviously are several corrections on this one that will be made yes and if you would in your in your motion please state that what needs to be corrected is the date and the fiscal 22 um expenditures expenditures okay yeah so we have it

specific in the in the minutes date and okay so i'll make a motion that we approve the fiscal year 23 budget with the correction on the date and correction on the i don't have in front of me fiscal expenditures excellent all second that amanda amen all in favor aye amanda amen aye charlene diaz aye anna boyd i'm melinda sapraski perfect all right 6.3 bid for replacement of 61 hvac units in the sr3 funding dr stewart this is 61 units most of them are at fox creek and a number are at coyote in the areas that we actually use at coyote and several at desert valley that gets us the 61 oldest units in the district replaced and as i reported earlier and as you uh that the bid is 760 163 from air control home

services in lake havasu city and that included you said earlier all the things that we want for those 61 hvac units yes and there are different tonnages depending on the location they actually had to come and walk the site with mark the sites with mark and look at all the units and consider all of the things that had to be put in you know had to be for each of those installations awesome what was the amount again 163 dollars any questions nope all right well i'll move to accept the bid from air control home services to for the replacement of the 61 hvac units i'll second that motion charlene diaz all in favor i'm ed amen aye charlene diaz aye anna boyd i'm melinda sabrasky okay 6.4 bid for fuel for school year 22-23 members

we put this out as we do every year to multiple multiple companies for our fuel bids and uh once again we had only one bidder from rebel i will tell you that these amounts are up from a year ago i think that's not probably a surprise to anybody so for unleaded fuel for our white fleet and a few of our gas buses 30 0540 unleaded fuel for the food service delivery 20 0360 and diesel fuel 458 100. i will tell you that all any bid whether it was from rubble or anybody else they give us these numbers but there is built into the contract that if fuel prices increase um they built it's in the contract that there will be an increase so we we actually went well over our budget for fuel uh for

this past year so i had to move money around to to cover those expenses because the prices went up during the school year so it's not like these are locked in numbers these are numbers that are good right now and and for you know for as long as they can possibly do them so if by weird chance that the fuel goes down that's my question they would adjust it down i'm not sure that they would adjust the cost down per gallon we might end up paying less than this amount if we didn't you know if we were let's say we used exactly you know we used exactly the number of gallons that we've used like last year so we might end up paying less because we would be paying less per gallon but uh or

yeah but i don't think it would go down much okay it doesn't work that way yeah unfortunately lots and i will tell you that this is these are expenses that we share with the high school uh because that's part of our shared services so every bus driver has what amounts to a credit card a card that they use at the pumps out there and so excuse me quarterly james reads the reads the numbers and we bill the high school for the fuel that they have used but it doesn't change the fact that we're paying the bills and and so one of the things that we have learned this past year in working with the accountant that we've been working with to help us with payroll and some other things is that the money that the

high school pays us for these things goes into a whole separate budget but then we uh we journal entry because then that fund zeroes out at the end of the year so um so you know ultimately this 458 000 say for diesel fuel will not all be paid for by our district part of it is paid for by the high school by reimbursing us okay that's one of the advantages of having the iga is because we get a better price by doing a huge volume for two districts as opposed to two smaller volumes so okay all right i'll move to approve the bid for fuel for school year 2223 amanda amen i'll second that motion anna boyd uh all in favor aye amanda amen aye charlene diaz aye anna boyd i'm melinda sabrasky 6.5 line

of credit with wells fargo governing board members there are occasions when the state finance department does not send their payments to us in a timely manner we've been fortunate to have had nice balances in our account with the county and have not had to draw on a line of credit i can say for sure in the past three years but there might be times when you know they they just don't get it sent in time for us to make payroll or to make payment vouchers and so having a line of credit means that when we if we were to hit that kind of a situation that we could go ahead and pay our bills and pay our payroll and draw on that line of credit until those funds came and so uh so we're asking

for you to approve uh to authorize us to have a line of credit with wells fargo which is our main bank uh for a million five uh in case we would have to do that um and the interest rate would be 4.75 right now my understanding is for this kind of thing that's the prime rate uh percent and so that would only that would only occur for the length of time between the time we had to pay our bills and the money came in so it's usually less than a month so it's not a huge expense if we have to do it is 1.5 million usually what our line of credit is what the district has had for a number of years yes the same line and as i say i as far as i

mean i have no idea i'm thinking it's not even been drawn on probably in the last seven or eight years uh at all but it's nice to have that fallback position awesome questions nope all right can i get a motion i'll move that we approve the line of credit with wells fargo for 1.5 million all second amanda amen all in favor aye amanda amen aye charlene diaz aye ayanna boyd i'm melinda sobrowski all right 6.6 audit report um i you all should have received that directly in an email from the auditors when that came out and if you have questions i'll be happy to answer them but we do have to the board does have to accept that audit report officially but if you have some questions i'll i'll try to answer them i can

answer questions from the three-page document that they sent you i frankly probably can't tell you much from the 101-page document because it's a lot of numbers um dr stewart the i think in your comments you had put that you'd already started to make corrections on some of the definitions how much is how much is already done how much more do we have to go to because there's like 10 different deficiencies right and several of them were payroll and um and you and anna probably were not on well no you might have been on the board but melinda and anna might not have been on the board when i asked the board um uh a year ago uh next month for permission to work with uh with the usually recognized as the premier why can i

not think of the word accountant in the state for school accounting and are you all authorized to do that we have since we still continued to work with uh heinfeld meech we're working with one of the other uh accountants at this time but it but because things kept you know they we did some extensive training with the new payroll clerk right away and then we we worked with the accountant to straighten things out but as each month has gone on we still find things you know the big things got dealt with actually last august and september the big things got dealt with uh but each month each month there were a few other things now we're down to maybe one a month at this point and we're now at a year in so we should

have everything cleaned up at this point relative to that uh um on in that in those statements there is the one item that has to do with not using correct procurement for the hundred and eighty thousand or 150 000 for books that is that has been and i will tell you for one more year it will be in the audit because the person who wrote and managed the grant the ial grant which was the early learning early reading grant that gave books to our four and five-year-olds and that was such a fine program but she absolutely never could understand why we had to have procurement she thought we made that up and that we were trying to hold her to do something so she never would put it out for bids and and do those

things and it's been a great cause of angst for for jen and and chuck because chuck was actually our local manager of that grant every year we would have the conversation with her and she would blow it off and frankly i would have withdrawn from the grant two years ago because of this kind of irresponsible behavior except that the program was so good for our our students and the students in two or three other districts in the state four other districts in the state we were it was one big package and so you know our kids got a hundred kids got 100 books you know and and so for kids that particularly kids who might not have any library at home you know it was just such a good program for kids that we just

kind of bit our tongues and put up with it so it will be in the next audit because that grant now has ended or ends the end of september and uh but it will be in the audit next year for this year and then we're done with that so and we will not work with that person again um uh so and then there was one that was on us that we didn't have uh didn't do some of the paperwork we should have done uh we're we've put procedures in place to make sure that we're doing the things we are supposed to do and and i will frankly tell you that auditors are always going to find something that's okay that's why we have them um and if we're if we're doing some procedures wrong we

need to fix them so we learn all the time and thank you for the questions but yeah all of those payroll things have been addressed okay any other questions all right can we get a motion to accept the submitted audit report i move that we accept the audit report melinda zabraski second that motion adam boyd all in favor aye amanda amen aye charlene diaz hi anna boyd i'm melinda sabrowski all right 6.7 policy bridge board members one of the things that kim noticed after our last board meeting and approval of our new logo uh is as she was looking through um policy bridge that there are numerous places in policies where the word elementary is still in our name and there are numerous places in some of the exhibits and those things that have our

old logo so what we're asking for from you is blanket approval for us to have casts start going through removing the word elementary where it should not be in there and if there is a logo in there our old logo that we replace it so that we do not have to bring every regulation every exhibit and every policy to you to to make those kinds of editorial changes thank you and there's a comment with ken burleson's name if applicable did she find her name somewhere uh yeah i think so because there are places that have um some individual names and and and one of the things we want to do is just put the position title in there as opposed to somebody's name okay yeah makes sense okay any other questions nope nope okay yep

okay um i'll make the motion to remove the word elementary and kim burlson's name throughout our and the old logos uh throughout our policy regulations and regulation books exhibits and exhibits yep thank you all right i'll second that amanda ayman all in favor aye amanda amen hi charlene diaz hi anna boyd i'm melinda sabrasky all right 6.8 student and parent handbooks for school year 2223 dr stewart governing board members i've presented to you all six of our handbooks i will tell you that our principals have done an exemplary job this year of working together to have real consistent presentations of things that really are the way things we want to be district-wide and still have the things in their individual handbooks that apply specifically to their school sites these are probably the most consistent handbooks

that i can remember and you know i've been in the district a long time so and and we're very pleased about uh about what they've done um if you approve them then they will be posted on our website um and uh we we will print we will publish some copies not enough for everybody but because they're available digitally but if there are folks who want actual printed copies we will we will provide those if you have questions about those or anything let me know any questions no all right somebody wants to make a motion uh i'll make a motion to approve the handbooks as given and avoided i will second that motion melinda sabrasky okay all in favor aye amanda amen i'm charlene diaz hi anna boyd i'm melinda sabrowski 6.9 bullhead city school district

employee handbook governing board members last year was the first year that we had created a consistent employee handbook for the whole district and this is the updated version for the school year and so i would ask that you approve it and we do provide a printed copy of this for each employee and for each new employee and then it is also on the website and this is with all the changes from the committee because i know the committee did a great job and yes so we thank them for their time and effort absolutely you know their input because that's valuable because they're with the employees all the time you know and so it's good to get everyone's feedback so we appreciate that anybody have any questions all right can i get a motion i move

that we approved the bullhead city school district employee handbook for 2022-2023 i'll second that motion charlene diaz all right all in favor aye amanda ayman aye charlene diaz hi anna boyd i'm melinda sabroski all right 7.1 future topics anybody have any future topics to add or want to discuss all right well you can send them to corey burgess or dr stewart if you do get them i think of them i was just going to say if you would like to uh we could start resuming we could resume some uh review of policies as well as you know as we go along oh yeah i think that would be good getting back in it that year yeah all right okay nevermind mr sprouse did you have something no no i was i was already moving to

the next topic all right 7.2 upcoming board events the the new teacher breakfast on the 25th yes are we no new teacher we have a new teacher lunch on the 20th and returning teacher breakfast on the 25th okay so the new teacher is on the 20th at noon it's a lunch right jen yeah and where's that going to be it's here and the returning teacher breakfast is at desert valley board members invited absolutely are you going you're going to post then that will be there if an invite we can send a name to the calendar invite yeah we can send a calendar yeah that would help you yes and i will tell you that um with discussion with our leadership team and we've decided it's going to be very informal there will be some of

those representatives like from river fund and legal legal shield and a couple of those but they're not going to make presentations they will just have tables and and have things to hand out to people um our employees have said that they really would like an opportunity just to socialize with each other and you know and welcome back and those kinds of things and so there there won't be any presentations or anything it's just all of us circulating and thanking them and welcoming them back or welcoming them here as the fir you know as newbies and those kinds of things and um uh so we're going to try that will lance be there with a tax credit table and so they can sign up for payroll deductions that's a good idea or somebody doesn't have to

actually be reliant we can get jenny to do that that's part of jenny's job too yeah yeah but he's going to take pictures he's going to take there'll pictures a new tax credit form just the back page updated the payroll deduction form for employees has already been updated so yeah so that everything should be ready for that right and then i would like to remind you because you've got this long list i really want to remind you that next thursday night is a special workshop for you all to have mutual link here to talk about the safety program you know the uh that that you all had asked about more detail um uh and how it works and so we have uh invited after the discussion i didn't remember the date right i didn't get

an invite for that so i was a little confused is that i thought we sent invites to everybody lance well i looked and i didn't get one for next week i don't remember that one to be honest okay so we'll send another one i don't have it online it's at 5 30 on the 21st that was the yes and that was the date you all had picked we have invited the governing boards and the administrators from the high school district from malc from mohave valley bridge to bridge okay and then law enforcement and of course the county folks will be here the county sheriff's office folks will be here um and uh and then james is on vacation next week but he's uh he's um uh asking um a week before ethan to come so

we can also stream so if there are folks that can't actually be here we will post it as you know the board being here but that it is a workshop only there's no business conducted did our district did the high school district um like did they say they would come because i think they already approved it they did approve it i saw that and from their meeting minutes like shortly like the meeting they had right after your last meeting and apparently they have um i had lunch today with dr richard and he was sort of aware of that and he of course he's new so he also had not seen an invitation so he has it on his schedule to come because he's he's interested in seeing the demonstration and whatever they already approved it

right they did approve it and apparently based on the conversation i had with the folks from the county sheriff's office they're pretty much approving you know mojave crushed for being involved in that sadly at least sadly to me they indicated that they were going to give priority to the high school districts before they would consider junior highs and elementaries and i kind of understand that i mean i do understand it but given that nobody else seems to be interested i'm hopeful that you all especially well especially as our board can say to them uh we really really want to be involved in this but you know that's something for you to decide after you've seen the demonstration and of course it would be on our next agenda since no decision would be made that night

okay all right 7.3 date time location future meeting we just went over our next one next thursday for the workshop right um so regular scheduled meeting august 11 it would be august 11th all right so yeah workshop 5 30 board meeting start at six everybody go with that okay all right so let's just go ahead and unless we hear something else we'll stick with that yeah all right i'm good can i get a motion to adjourn the meeting i'll make a motion that we adjourn the meeting and avoid i'll second that motion all in favor aye amanda amen aye charlene diaz hi anna boyd i'm melinda subraski we're adjourned thank you all [Music] you
