001Good evening everyone. >> I have five. So we call ourselves I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic which stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all. >> Please be seated our role. Dr. O'Neal >> present. Mrs. Barnes Griffin >> present. Dr. Washford >> present. >> Mr. Irvin >> present. >> Mr. Low >> present. >> So Mr. Heater is traveling I believe. So we will proceed at this point in his absence. Dr. Reynolds, your report. >> All right. Thank you so much. I uh uh busy summer already. Uh plenty of things going on across the district. Um certainly uh excited about all of our projects. We we have uh many big happenings across the entire district. Lots of work occurring at Southside, um North

002Side, the Muny Central Campus, uh Westview, Longfellow. We have one more roof someplace else, Brad. So, a busy busy uh busy coordination for Brad and his team, but um much much needed upgrades and some attention given to uh a number of our campuses, but that that is well underway. Had a great update today from um Paul Dipmier on a on a number of items. So, appreciate appreciate his work too as he as he helps coordinate all that. Um I read three continues to look very positive. um for for our district and and look forward to sharing those official numbers. Again, um ahead of last year's tallies and and certainly the um uh the results of some hard work from a lot of people. So, thank you so much. On your place on your place mats

003today, I I put the official summer band schedule um for our contest times and performance times. You can take a look at when we perform and where we perform. um really um really excited about those opportunities for our students and the um and the summer work that they're putting in. I'm going to head out there tonight after rehearsal and check them out or after school board meeting to check them out. Um they they have sounded fantastic and they have looked just terrific. Uh well ahead of where I think they would have been in the years past, but um very very good. We, as you will approve hopefully in a little bit, we have um found us a new band director at the high school. I'm going to do some internal switches as well. And um

004just really appreciative of of all of the hard work of our of our teachers and our leadership team to make that happen and of course your approval. And um finally, I I I wanted to follow up just on our last meeting. I we talked about commencement and how wonderful it was. I I I found the numbers I was looking for. I didn't have in front of me at our last meeting. We had 162 students earn 4,992 credits in that senior class. Um resulting in about $83,000 um in realized savings if um if they if all those classes came from IvyTech. We awarded 50 associates degrees. that was the most associate degrees awarded from um since our since the early college in inception at at Muny Central and we had an additional 20 Indiana college core

005one-year degrees awarded at um at at that at commencement. So 70, you know, degrees from IvyTech that we were able to award. Again, another record number for our senior class um at Muny Central. Just can't say enough about the um tremendous opportunities that my central my central offers our students and uh just just a small slice of of of that there with with the uh college credits. And and finally, I know it's way too early to talk about, but we we have set our uh back to school um enrollment nights, kind of that those those days that we have folks targeted in the buildings to help parents to that want to come in one to see the building, but maybe help with enrollment forms, online enrollment forms. Uh that'd be July 28th from 10 to

0064 and July 29th from 1 to 6. Again, really early to think about, but um those those dates have been set and we'll look forward to welcoming families uh on those days. >> Uh Dr. Reynolds, what do we have a sense of what our graduation I know it can go up tick up a little bit, but what is our graduation rate? >> Uh Mr. Walker is projecting it to be above 93%. >> Okay. >> And our his >> So another high um that's over last year. We'll have till September. It's end of September to finalize that. >> Um and then the state will review it. But um he's projecting to be higher than last year. >> Okay. And we were 90 last year. So >> 90.3 I believe is the official number. >> Yeah. So

007he's projecting it to be >> 93. And his projections were accurate last year is my memory. >> Uh anything any questions for Dr. Reynolds? Dr. Reynolds did share with me which then has to be shared with the board. Uh Delaware County Redevelopment Commission is notifying us uh that there is no excess assessed value that may be allocated uh to the overlapping tax units which includes Muny Community Schools and I think this is consistent with our prior notifications. >> Never received any. >> Yeah. And so this statute has been in place really I think the entire eight years. So every June I'll just say none >> I used to >> I understand. So um we have been you've been duly noticed by Dr. Reynolds. Uh any public participation? No. Okay agenda and I think we have

008some folks here who are joining us. uh this fall perhaps. So, uh how many who all are new hires? >> Okay, come on up. Come on up. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All of you. This is >> I'm sorry. I usually warn the candidates and I got talking and forgot to do that. >> So, somebody start and introduce yourself and tell us what you're going to do. >> Uh my name is Garren Sims Jones. Um, I'm gonna be the permanent preschool sub and I spent about four years already doing um, early childhood. So, I'm really excited. >> So, is it Garen or Karen? >> Garen with the G. >> Garen. >> Yes. >> Garen Sims Jones. And you're going to be our permanent preschool sub. >> Yes. >> So, you're going to be rotating around some

009buildings, I suppose. That's fantastic. Where'd you work before? >> Um, Destiny Christian Academy in Yorktown. >> Okay. Dr. So, do you know Dr. O'Neal? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Well, we're sorry about that. >> Yeah. I attended all my schools. So, >> Okay. Excellent. >> Welcome. Congratulations. And you're doing really important work in our preschool. So, thank you so much for joining us. >> Who's up next? >> I'm good. >> Hi, I'm Satie Williams. I will be doing the seventh grade science position at Northside Middle School. Where are you from? >> I'm from Lawrenburg, Indiana originally. Okay. So, high school girl. Yes. >> Okay. So, you're a Tiger? >> Yes, I am. >> And you grew up in Lawrenceburg proper or Bright or >> uh Lawrenburg. >> Okay. And where'd you go to college? >>

010I went to college at Ball State University for elementary education. >> Okay. And now you're going to do middle school science. >> Yes. >> Well, we're excited to have you there. >> Thank you. I'm really excited. Awesome. >> Welcome. Thank you. >> Hi, my name is Abigail Hartman. Um, I will be the instructional assistant at Southside Middle School. Um, I don't know what class yet, uh, but I believe I will be working in applied skills. So, >> Well, Abigail, welcome. Where are you from? >> Um, I'm originally from like the Chicago area in Illinois. Um, and then I moved to West Lafayette, uh, my junior year of high school. Um, and I am currently in the process of getting enrolled at, uh, IvyTech for their education program. >> Well, welcome and we're really excited to

011have you. >> All three of you, welcome. Uh we're just really pleased that you're going to be joining us and we'll look forward to hearing from you later in the year when you're deep into it and enjoying yourselves. >> Thank you. Welcome. >> Okay. So, um, the other item that I do feel the need to at least reference in our consent agenda, uh, we have three conflict of interest forms that have been completed by doc, one by Dr. Reynolds, one by Mr. Derome, and one by Mr. Grim. Those are all in your packets. Uh, would show that disclosure pursuant to the applicable uh, statute. Um any questions regarding those conflict disclosures? Okay, with that uh would entertain a motion to approve the consent agenda. >> So move. >> Any second? >> Second. >> Moved and

012second. And all in favor signify by I. >> I. >> Both same sign. Okay, we'll show those approved. Um, Cindy, I gave you the conflict forms and it's my memory that and this is a unique provision in that statute that I'm not sure always gets picked up that those have to be deposited with the court or or >> they go through our finance office and I know they >> okay the state. >> Okay. Okay. I just want to make certain because there's a frequent practice that where they get done here not not up but done at the board level and end up in a file and don't get moved on. There is another step to that I believe under the statute. >> I think we also upload those into our gateway system with the state

013of Indiana. So, okay, >> state board of accounts has access to that. >> Okay, that that's that was my concern. Um, and I wasn't pointing at us, believe me. It was other >> other entities. Okay, we are on to new business financial report. >> Thank you. Included in your monthly packet, just our update on the uh re financial results for the month of May. Uh we're always happy to report when we do receive our state state revenue and just where that compares uh right now uh our estimate for the year for 2026 about 47.9 million of uh state basic grant revenue which is slightly more than the 47.7 million we received last year. That's not much more because that also included the uh textbook rental money as enclosed as revenue in there. So basically fairly

014flat. Um that's is pretty much what we expected. Uh that is still inclusive or that still includes basically the estimate for whatever our enrollment may be at the October count when we say 47.9 million is estimated. That could go up or down depending upon our enrollment in the fall. Um so in any event, those things those numbers can change. Um, we're still uh getting ready to go towards the uh budget season this this this summer, which will bring back a full financial report over the next 18 months when we present the budget at our first board meeting. As far as the financial information, um, still always happy to report 36.8 million in the overall checkbook balance. Uh, that did include obviously some bond proceeds when we sold bonds in November. And as Dr. Reynolds mentioned

015earlier, we're in the midst of um the $19 million construction project right now in a variety of buildings. Um we sold bonds um back in November for about half of that, a little over 9 million. We'll sell bonds again for the other 9 million uh in a few months. Um that will occur and that'll be closed on in this year 2026. Our state loan outstanding um down below 5 million now down to the 4.8 $28 million level. Um obviously the um the uh meeting that we had with the DOWAB board uh it successfully passed the DOWAB board and it has to still go on to the state board of finance meeting um in June which is later I think it's June 30th is their next meeting. Uh that occurs they do approve that it will

016extend our loan another two years from June of 2028 to June of 2030. So that we'll just await word from Dan Schmidt on that from from DAT. Um that um that includes most of the highlights we have for the financial report for the month of May. >> Okay. Um any questions for Mr. Dum >> entertain a motion >> approved. Moved and second. All in favor signify by I. >> I same sign. It will show that approved. Um my memory was that Mr. Schmidt did not need anything from us for that board of finance meeting. >> He has not uh he did not need anything else as he was going to >> okay >> carry that information for us. >> We will hope that that goes through in late June. Um the there's one other item

017that on my list of questions. >> I've got one more thing. >> Go ahead. >> On the agenda. Yeah. The um the next thing on our board agenda was the internal control document. >> We put that in the uh >> Oh, is that okay? >> That in the consent agenda. >> Well, good. I won't have to comment. >> It's already done. >> Yeah. Unless uh I mean, if you want to pull it out and talk about it, that's fine. But we've already approved it, >> which I would assume everybody has read it is comfortable with it. Um which may be a dangerous assumption. >> Um >> read it. I read it. >> Read it. Okay, I appreciate you guys. >> Uh the Dr. Reynolds, um how are we looking on enrollment? >> I was going

018to You took that out of my head. I was going to ask that. >> Yeah. Um still pretty flat. We um our um our K numbers were down a little bit as I've shared previously. Um, we've had uh had our principles in even I think I heard one one principal was driving around the neighborhood with uh popsicles and a and a cart and a speaker I think trying to just to get folks in. So our elementary numbers everyone else is is pretty consistent from where we we are. Elementary numbers are still a little low. >> Any sense of where they're going or is it just late? >> I'm hoping it is just late. birth rates five years ago are down a little bit. Um, which could could impact that obviously, but um, just talking to

019my my other colleagues, the other superintendents, nobody is seeing a a windfall of students. I um I just don't think they're going to hold yet. >> Okay. Well, um, I think that's a relatively common refrain across the board. Any sense of how many referenda are running this? Do you hear? Boy, it it uh estimates are going to be um >> 60. >> Yeah, 60 or 70. And I believe that they they are close to being on track with that. It is it is daily that I get a a feed um of a news feed that has just somebody else going for a referendum and um I I think that they will hit or exceed that number. Certainly do. >> Is there anything at all that you and the leadership and faculty building principles need from

020the board heading into the year. >> Um I I don't think so yet. I mean we're still gathering information. Um I certainly we have we have set the tone to be very mindful of of spending and staffing and all those things. Um but still want to provide the high quality programming and and provide the resources that they need to be successful at at the building level. Um >> does the comp committee know? Uh, no. Uh, Brad is working on uh final numbers to plan on meeting in July. >> Good to know. If there's anything that we need to tend to, please >> Absolutely. >> Um, and then I'm assuming we'll take up com perhaps that meeting in July, if not the first meeting in August. >> Yes, that's that's the goal. And there is still

021I assume a sense that we can do something though not perhaps as aggressive as predators. >> That's safe to say Brad. Yeah. >> So are >> Yeah. No, I I understand it's you know it's an economically uncertain time. I it's a there are parts of the economy that are pretty rugged um in spite of parts of the economy seem to be doing pretty well but I know that we have foreclosures that come into the office and our foreclosure numbers first half the year are very high so I know that that's usually not usually it is an indicator there's some struggle out there pricing and everything else. Now, that haven't been said. Um, I know the Panther Pantry got a new space. Uh, everybody's satisfied with that. >> Yeah. Lots of volunteers have been working. I

022think it'll make it a little more accessible. Really, have its own dedicated entrance, not having to travel through the building. >> Any word on our nurses? >> Uh, no update yet. >> Okay. Okay. Any other questions? At this stage, we're what, eight weeks? Sorry. Eight weeks away from starting school again. >> How many vacancies do we have? Are we filled? >> You still >> We have possible two, but it's just a possible at this point. >> We We're tremendous. >> Is our staff headcount going to be compared to this year? How much down? >> 30 to be determined. I mean, it's all all in one bucket. I It's really a handful. Now, it's because some folks that we had were permanent subs and not necessarily a higher permanent hire may not be in that count,

023but it would just be down handful. >> And we've added a couple through a grant that are here during the duration of that grant. >> Okay. Everybody who's not here next year has received notice, right? >> Anything further? >> Okay. >> With that, I don't think there's any media inquiry. Any media? >> Motion to move. >> Moved and second. All in favor signify by I >> I post same sign. We'll consider ourselves journ. Good evening. still working on the draft.
