agenda, uh, I would like to thank the board for approving the appointment of Craig Reich for the position of assistant superintendent of operations and human resources. Effective after winter break, Craig brings 25 years of dedicated service to North McGomery as our director of technology. Throughout his tenure, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional responsibilities. I'm sorry, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, ad adaptability, and commitment to our students and staff. In recent years, Craig's responsibilities have expanded significantly to include title N coordinator, student enrollment, as well as many other duties as assigned. His proven ability to manage complex multifaceted roles make him ideally suited for this expanded position. As assistant superintendent, Craig will oversee the daily operations of facilities and finance management, human resources, and our central office. With three members of our central office retiring this year,

Craig provides the institutional knowledge to assist Dr. Tharp as he begins serving the district as superintendent July 1st. Craig's expanded responsibilities will ensure greater coordination and efficiency across these critical areas. Please join me in congratulating Craig on his well-deserved promotion. We look forward to his continued leadership and contributions to North Montgomery as the district moves forward with this new chapter. Craig, [applause] wave so that the students can know. You've seen Mr. Reich in your building before, I'm sure. Super. Thank you for that. Next up, I get to introduce our honorary board member this evening. So, to my right, she's waving. She wants you to know where she is. This is Miss Haley Maxi. She's a fifth grader at Smer Elementary. And at summer she's involved in art club, spellbowl, battle of the books, or ensemble,

and mcgomery county choir. They've got quite a list of things there. Haley has been elected into student council for her fourth and fifth grade years by her peers. Her favorite subject in school is writing because she gets to be creative. Out of school, she participates at a modern and ballet dance at the Crawford'sville Academy of Dance. Haley's favorite hobby is reading, and she most she most like she most likes to read realistic fiction. When she grows up, she wants to be an author. She has wonderful attributes and sets a great example for all students. She happens to have two special parents who are teachers at North Montgomery at the high school and at summer. So, help me uh welcome Miss Haley Maxi. [applause] All right, she's she's pulling double duty tonight. >> Triple duty. >>

She's got lots going on. So, Mrs. Gart, am I turning over the spotlight to you or to Mrs. Hardesty? I'm going to stand up class of 1982. So the class is a small version. She'll tell you I believe she presented to our students and our community. I think most importantly leading up to middle school and high school watch extra music above and beyond. So this year we brought 10 If the crowd didn't hear that, they are performing Azie Osborne's Crazy Train in his honor this evening. So, let's see what you got. >> [music] >> I I I [music] [music] >> [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] [music] >> [music] >> Heat. Heat. 006Hey, [music] Heat. Heat. N. [music] >> [music] [music] [applause] >> I like your version better. >> I do. Those chimies. That is beautiful. You guys are so intense. You did such a good job. Let's give them another round of applause. [applause] We want to share too, I don't know if you were able to see the Adams family. I know they came to the schools, but I think two of our Let's see, let me think about that. At least two of our leads in that show were summer students. They sang really well. They were tremendous dancers. They did a super job. So you may have musical in your not only band but also the choir piece. So great job tonight. Parents, thank you so much for bringing them. This was this was special. This was really

great. And before um Haley might or Ka Haley might sneak out of here, I want you to tell them about what how summer did at Spellball last week. >> Um we won again. I believe that Mr. said that this was the 11th year now that we've won. Um I think we won we had like 32 words spelled right and then second place was 28 words. So we did pretty good and um they rocked the spell too. So let's clap for [applause] that. >> All right. Next up we have Mrs. Hardy. Did you have anything else? >> I don't think so. They did awesome. Right. >> They did great. Awesome. >> Absolutely. Next up, I don't know if you know this, but North McGomery Middle School had a special honor recently, too. They earned the distinction

of being a Purple Star School. So, I would like for Mrs. Webster to please come up here and tell us what the hard work they had to put in to do to earn that distinction. So, come right up to this mic. Mrs. Webster. Good evening. Um we were one of about a hundred other schools who have applied for the Purple Star distinction. Um this kind of started post pandemic. Um with kind of an idea to better have our kids understand Veterans Day and understand the importance of service. And it has turned up to it has turned into um us applying for the purple star designation. And what our school has to has have is they have to have a point of contact for a military family. Um they have to have a dedicated web page,

an annual military program, a public military display, and um submit a schoolboard resolution publicizing support for military students and families. And we accomplished that. and we were able to get a purple star award for our school and I think that's really a great thing. Oops. Sorry, we have game things going on this evening [laughter] that can stay there. But um no, I just I really feel I'm very very proud that we can serve veterans in this way and our Veterans Day display and our veterans program for our middle schoolers really bring it home to them instead of just being something they walked through and just see this pomp and circumstance. They're really getting um to know people and also know people in their community. >> Thank you, Mrs. Webster. Middle school. [applause] All right. Uh,

up next is a little business, not much. Um, I'm going to ask the board tonight to see if we can go ahead and approve bus driver training at the hourly rate at $17 an hour. Right now, we pay our the our bus drivers who are going through training, but after the fact. Right now, current market rates are paying them in lifetime, and that's a practice we would like to change to upon your approval. >> Mr. President. >> It has been moved and seconded. Any discussion? [clears throat] Hearing none. All those in favor to approve agenda item 6.2 as presented signify by saying I. >> I. Those opposed same. Motion carries. >> Mr. President, we have in our presence that just walked through the door. Former school board member Gerald Hull and his son Dr. Michael

Hull who was just recently named as executive vice president and provost of Butler University, >> a proud graduate of North Montgomery High School. Welcome Mr. and Dr. [applause] You have anything else you'd like to add? >> I've talked way too much tonight. >> Mr. Thart? >> No, no news. Everything's great. >> Well, if it's not going to make anybody upset, I'll make some remarks here and then we'll just be done. Um, I want to thank the Mrs. Webster again for uh all she does for that veterans program at that middle school. I think she's already stepped out, I'm sure. But I think it is it's awesome what she does and she's kind of taken lead on that and that is it's time consuming and take some work and it's just a very nice and neat

thing that she does. Um, Som Elementary want to thank you again for your or ensemble. That was pretty awesome. And I'm sure that our music and choir, teachers at the high school and middle school can't wait for you to get there. And with that folks, I would entertain a motion to adjourn this evening's meeting. >> So move. Thank you all for coming and thank you to the class of 73. All right, you guys. Oh yeah. >> Black Oh, it's
