Okay. 71. >> Yeah. Good evening everyone. We're glad to have you this evening for our reorganization meeting. And uh it's customary at this time if you would like to uh participate in a voluntary prayer, we would do so. And that will be followed by our pledge of allegiance. And uh uh Mr. Speltzer, would you like to lead us in a pledge or a prayer this evening? >> Okay. >> Dear Lord, we thank you again for this another day and and again also another year. Dear Lord, we thank you for many wonderful blessings. Now dear Lord, guide us in this meeting and keep us safe in Jesus name. Amen. Mrs. Green, would you like to introduce our two young >> leaders? Mr. Jordan is a first grader at Spencer Elementary as well. Mr. House, would you
like to introduce them? >> I'll let them do it. doubling up because they were not able to be here in December because of the flag. face and put your hands over your heart and then you want to start the pledge. All follow the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> All right. Thank you. Thank you both. Stay right here. Appreciate that very much. Taking your time out of your busy schedule. back sames and ice coopering. I want to give each of you a cookie for your big app. Appreciate very much. I think Mrs. Green and Mrs. Congratulations. So, let's turn around. Thank you for know. go home and study. >> Thank you. >> Gonna call this meeting to order. Um I'm the attorney for Spencer
Community Schools and once a year I get to lead a small portion of the meeting, the organizational meeting. Going to start with roll call. Mark Rogers >> here. >> Chad Cooper >> here. >> Dina Stickles >> here. Derek Morgan >> here. >> Rick Smeltzer >> here. >> Liz Bixler >> here. >> Jack White. >> All right, let the minutes show that Jack White is not present. All other board members are present in person. Next item is our 2026 reorganization. And the first item is election of a temporary chairperson. We can forgo that item if no one objects and move on to just the election of the president as opposed to doing vote. Everyone okay with that? >> No objection. So the next item, item 3B is election of officers. So at this time, I would
take nominations or a motion for the president or an entire slate of officers. >> I'd like to put in an entire slate, >> okay, >> of officers. Um Derek Morgan for president, Dena Stickles for vice president, me Liz Bixler for secretary, and uh Rick for secretary proin. >> Is there a second to that motion? >> I second that. >> Okay, it's been moved and seconded. Are there any other nominations for a slate of officers? All right, hearing none, then we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor of the motion, which would have the president as Derek Morgan, Vice President Dena Stickles, Secretary Liz Bixler, and Secretary Proim Rick Smelter, please raise your right hand. All right, motion carries. 6 and I will pass the baton. >> Thank you very much. All right. Uh again, thank
you to the board um for being here for another year of service. Uh we're going to move on now to um letter C, consider approval of re resolution for board member compensation. Uh before the board was the recommend or the the state statute allows for you to set your re your compensation uh based on the updates uh and would ask for uh a recommendation from the board for for that amount to be set with again your PDMs remaining at the $150 for regular meetings and your $75 for other meetings such as special meetings, executive sessions, and committee meetings. >> Okay. Uh you've heard the request. Uh do we have a motion and uh specifically a motion for uh I guess setting the amount for the uh per or for the annual compensation. >> I move
that we set the compensation 4650. Okay. Okay. Is there a second on that motion >> second? >> Okay. Liz is seconded. >> Uh do we have any discussion on that? >> Okay. Um >> just talked to a couple other board members and I just would like to make the comment that Oh, sorry. Um, I don't think they've raised the the compensation for board members in over 20 years. >> Yeah. >> So, I just want to make a note of that. >> Okay. Yeah. I I just want to comment that um I increasing board pay. We've had three election cycles that have been totally uh no nobody has ran for office other than the people holding these seats. While I appreciate all of you and nothing wrong with our current board, uh we do need to
help elevate this position and uh elevate the um the incentives for folks to want to run for and and hold these offices. Uh and so I'm um glad that the state legislature has allowed us a little more flexibility on pay here. Okay. Any other discussion? Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Okay, next up, item D. >> Uh item D is a request for the consideration to reappoint school legal council. And uh the recommendation I've given you is to continue with Ferguson Law uh with the attached notice on their rate uh minimal increase for 2026 as well. >> Okay, you've heard the request. I have a motion on that request. >> Thank you, Chad. Do I have a second? Was that
Dena? >> Second. >> Okay, thank you, Dena. Any discussion? Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Next item E. >> Uh item E, I would again request the board to appoint Annette Brown as our corporation treasurer and Toby Slicer uh to remain in the position of deputy treasurer for the 2026 calendar year. Uh again, both of these uh uh individuals have held those positions in the previous calendar year. >> You've heard the request. I have a motion on that request. to approve this. >> Okay. Thank you very much, Mark. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Thank you, Liz. All right. Any discussion? All right. Hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand.
Motion passes six to zero. Okay. Item F. >> Item F. Again, I would ask the board to approve the uh bonds for the corporation treasurer, our deputy treasurer, and building level ECA treasurers. Those amounts are listed in your memo, and they do not change from previous years with corporation treasurer and deputy treasur being bonded at uh $100,000, excuse me, as as well as the high school treasurer, the middle school treasurer at 50,000, and the four elementary treasurers bonded at 25,000. >> All right, further request. Do I have a motion on that request? >> Thank you, Chad. I got Rick is a second. Uh, any discussion? All right, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. >> Item G. Item G, I would ask
you ask you to approve rather Mrs. is April Walker as our executive secretary for the 2026 calendar and meeting sessions. And again, she has held that position previously. >> All right. Further request, I have a motion on that request. >> Move to approve. >> All right, Rick. And do I have a second, Dina? Uh been properly moved and seconded. Is there any discussion? Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Uh, next item H. Uh, under item H, I would ask the board to uh, select and approve uh, letter A, a representative to be an delegate to the Indiana School Board Association as a legislative liaison. And then letter B, Owen County redevelopment commission, a representative. And under letter C, if it's
the pleasure of the board, I will continue as the exeicio member of the town of Spencer redevelopment commission. >> Okay. Do I have uh do we want to take these? >> Remember how we take? >> Yeah, let's take uh each sub bullet individually here. Uh does would anybody like to make a motion of nomination for our legislative liaison for the board? >> I couldn't Are you still able to do that? >> Yes, I uh am as a ISBA staff member now. Uh I have been given the okay by my boss to continue to be an ISBA member. So >> I would nominate Derek for >> Okay. Is there a second? Liz, thank you. Any discussion? Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to
zero. Okay, next up is uh the Owen County Redevelopment Commission uh exeicio position on that. Would anybody like to make a nomination for that? >> Who is that? Right. >> That's me. That's me. Um the redevelopment commission has not met all that much. Um I think only a handful of times this year if somebody else is willing to do that and sit on that. Okay. So uh anybody like to make that motion? >> Okay. Chad Liz have nominated Mark Is there any uh discussion on that? Okay. Hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. And then um sub bullet uh C there uh town of Spencer Redevelopment Commission. Uh would anybody like to make a motion on Superintendent Klein's request on that? >>
Okay, Dina and Rick uh to appoint Andy as in that position uh and then any discussion. Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Okay. Uh, next on the agenda is item I. >> Uh, under letter I, I would ask you to approve the attached recommended meeting dates for 2026. I would also ask you to, uh, designate a start time. And, uh, please take note that we did adjust the July board meeting so it would not conflict with the county fair, moving it to the 16th. Uh we've also requested uh for you to consider holding the meetings here uh throughout the course of the meeting calendar. Okay. Uh do we want to take uh the meeting calendar separately from discussion on on
the time or would anybody like to make a motion for the combined motion? >> I would move that schedule. Okay. Uh, Chad has made that motion. Is there a second on that motion? >> Second. >> Okay. Thank you, Mark. Okay. Is there any discussion? >> So, are we um >> do we have a time? Uh seven >> was the motion >> and the motion is also to keep the meetings here with the new video system. >> Okay. >> And we're not moving school to school on occasion >> as as in our packet. Uh the calendar that we we looked at that you're referencing to uh has all of the meeting locations set uh at central office. Um and or comment for me is is I support the calendar. I I think um to me when
we have the electronic equipment here in in our in this facility to make our meetings sharable on social media uh or on on YouTube uh for members of the public to take six months or six meetings out of the year that we are not live I think is is not utilizing our technology. But then, Superintendent Klene, if you want to speak to the presentation schedule that's also on that calendar. >> This also includes a presentation schedule which we've talked with the building principles and some of the directors about bringing the schools here to celebrate what they're doing and also presenting data to you uh to acknowledge what's going on in each of the buildings. Um it also uh will or may include uh some extended work from food services to provide some samples of food
items that we are providing in the school cafeterias. Uh and I have not talked with Mr. Bolting House, but I'm looking at you that uh we may talk to Hooser Hills to talk to some of our culinary students uh that they would be able to provide some food samples as well. uh coming into the into here as an example what our students are doing out and about with all of the uh different activities. >> Thank you, Superintendent Klein. Is there any further discussion? >> Okay. >> I would just say that this motion here given up going to the schools, you know, several of those meetings and it gives us the opportunity tour those schools in a work session that we can decide at a later point if something comes up or there's something that is
relevant at the that time gives us that flexibility to do it as opposed to holding to that set schedule. Yeah. >> No, I I I echo that sentiment as well of uh I hope that we'll have a um work session at some point here in the near future with the transportation facility and and um you know as things uh come up. I I would like that like for this board to consider you know putting some extra dates on that count on our calendar uh to do that. So okay, any further discussion? Okay. Hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Okay. Next on the agenda is item J. Item J is the request, excuse me, to approve acceptance of your 2026 conflict of
interest forms. Uh, and Mrs. Walker had provided those to you to complete. uh if you do have a conflict of interest in any capacity that we would accept those and then have them recorded with the proper uh public or Department of Local Government Finance public access. >> Okay, you've heard the request. You have a motion on that request. >> Thank you, Mark. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Thank you, Dina. >> Any discussion? Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Okay. Next up, um recognition of visitor patron comments uh at every board meeting, members of the public are afforded two opportunities to address the board. The first is as it pertains to any specific agenda item and the second
is after we adjourn on any item. Uh, does anybody wish to make any uh comments on any agenda items this evening? None were heard. All right. At this time, do we have any additions to the agenda? >> There are no additions to our agenda. >> Okay. Next on the agenda is our consent agenda. >> I would again ask the board to approve the consent agenda as presented, which includes your financial reports, claims, and your minutes from the December 11th board meeting. >> Right. All right, you've heard the request. We have a motion on that request. >> Move to approve. >> Thank you, Dina. Was that Chad >> has a second? Chad, there any discussion? Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero.
Right. Next on our agenda is our legislative update. And I I will uh briefly give you uh an update. The session has just be uh started. Well, technically it started on on Monday. Uh it of course started last month with the uh debate on redistricting. Uh but they did have some committee hearings that started in December. Uh so legislation is starting to move through uh committees but they because of their early start uh the Indiana legisl legislature is giving themselves a very short turnaround to do business in uh they are likely to uh be done um in February. uh they could be done it's a short session year so they could be done um maximum in in March but they are trying to get done very quickly uh there are uh a number of education
issues that uh they are looking at um and in the next board uh meeting uh I'll have some of those for uh that are making their way through uh the state house uh for everybody to see. Um, but we have only two legislative breakfasts coming up where members of the public have an opportunity to address our local uh representation. Uh, Senator Vassler, Senator Bray, and Representative Heaton. Uh, the next legislative breakfast will be up uh coming up on the 24th um at the Owen Valley Christian Fellowship Hall at 7:30 in the morning. So, uh, that's all I have for you today. And then next on our agenda is the you make a difference award. >> All right. We had asked Mr. Jeff Mdd, our director of maintenance and grounds if he would to come forward
to present uh an award for one of our employees. This was uh again got snowed out uh in early December and we were able to convince her to be here tonight. That was a job. She says it takes a team to do what they do and I agree with that. I agree with that. But is one of the nicest workers I ever worked since day one as 11 for 12 years before that. I bet most of the staff would agree this person. I want to thank Melissa for everything she does. She hardly ever when she does it's bad. Thank you. >> Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you everybody. Have a good night. >> Thank you. >> All right. Next on our agenda is old business. Number one, the old policy updates. Uh under
old business, I would ask for you to approve uh second readings uh and final approval of the policies that have been presented that we did first reading on in the pre previous month. >> Remind me the readings to approve the >> Yeah. At this time, would anybody like to make a motion to wave the reading of the policy? moved away. >> Okay, Liz. And do I have a second? >> Second. >> Thank you, Rick. Any discussion? Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor of waving the reading, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. All right. At this time, would anybody like to make a motion on the uh approval of these uh policy updates? Thank you very much, Mark. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Thank
you, Chad. Uh, is there any discussion? Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes. Six to. All right. Next on the agenda, uh, new business item one. >> Uh, under item one of new business, I would ask you to approve the request for the out the overnight field trips, uh, for first item, the girls team wrestling who travel for sectional competition who travel to Mount Vernon High School, January 1st and 2nd. Uh, and then upcoming January 9th and 10th, the boys team state wrestling finals. They will be traveling and spending the night at overnight rather at Brownsburg High School. Right. You've heard the request. Uh, do I have a motion on that request? >> Move to approve. >> Thank you, Rick. Do I have a
second? >> Second. >> I'll give that to Dena. All right. Uh, properly moved and seconded. Is there any discussion? Okay. Hearing done, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. All right. Right. Next on the agenda, item two. >> Uh item two, I would ask you to approve the uh renewal of our current agreement with HFI for our HVAC maintenance uh across the corporation. As I pointed out in our memo, uh this would be for calendar year 26 and also calendar year 27. Uh where in our first year of uh the uh agreement, we had um considerable savings uh with the the re-evaluation of the agreement. and we would continue to move forward with that as well. Excuse me. Continue to move forward with that
as well. >> Okay, you've heard the request. Do I have a motion on that request? >> Thank you very much, Mark. Do I have a second? >> Thank you, Chad. Is there any discussion? Okay, hearing done, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Okay, next on the agenda, item three. >> Item three is a request from our deputy treasur, Mrs. Slicer, to uh uh request approval to implement automated clearing house for transfers for additional payments uh to our vendors. Uh I would ask for your approval to do so. >> Okay, you've heard the request. I have a motion on that request. >> Thank you, Dina. Do I have a second? Thank you, Mark. Is there any discussion? Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote.
All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Item four. Uh item four is a request before the board to approve a master affiliation agreement with the trustees of Indiana University and Spencer Own Schools. uh in particular or specifically this agreement will allow the university and the school to provide clinical experience for students in enroll enrolled in university programs. Uh to pinpoint that even more uh this request would circle around speech language pathologist students to be able to come over and complete practicum work. >> Okay, you've heard the request. Do I have a motion on that request? >> Move to approve. >> Thank you, Liz. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Thank you, Dina. Is there any discussion? Hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor,
please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Okay. Item five. >> Item five is a request before the board to purchase a John Deere 452R tractor. Again, this would be purchased using bond proceeds for the improvement of uh the school corporation and would be used for uh work at the transportation facility as well as other areas uh in that vicinity and and during discussion I'll let Mr. M add to that or if you have further questions. >> Okay, you've heard the request. A motion on that request. >> Move to approve. >> Thank you, Rick. Do I have a second? >> Second. Thank you, Liz. All right. Uh, is there any discussion? Is there any other discussion? >> Okay, hearing none, we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand.
Motion passes six to zero. Next on the agenda is donations. Item six. >> Uh under item six, I would ask the board to accept two monetary donations this evening. Uh, under letter A, the first donation is a $1,000 donation from Whitetails Unlimited to the high school archery team. And then under letter B is a $4,500 donation from Jefferson Baptist Church uh for Backpack Buddies. >> Okay. Is there any objection taking them together? >> No objection. >> No. No objection. All right. Uh, you've heard the request. Do I have a motion on that request? >> Move to approve. >> Thank you, Rick. Do I have a second? Thank you, Chad. >> Okay. Uh, any discussion? >> What was the donation amount uh from the Whitetails Unlimited? >> Uh, $1,000. >> Any further discussion? Okay. Hearing none,
we'll proceed to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes six to zero. Uh, next on the agenda is personnel. >> Uh, under personnel, as I've always asked the board, if it's the pleasure of the board, I would ask you to accept letters A, B, and C, recommendations for resignations, leaves, and employment. Or if there's an item that you'd like to vote on individually, we would we may do so as well. >> Are there any objections to taking them all together? >> No objections. >> Okay. All right. Uh, see further requests for items A, B, and C under personnel. Uh, do I have a motion on that request? We got Rick and is that Mark? >> Yeah. >> Mark and Mark. And is there any discussion? Okay. Hearing none, we'll proceed
to vote. All those in favor, please raise your right hand. Motion passes. Six to zero. All right, we are now to board comments. We will start down with Mark tonight. >> Well, first thing I want to say to >> thank you Mark Chad. recovery. I want to thank >> you. Okay, thank you very much. Uh Dina, >> same thing. Sorry for Well, seems like everything started out smoothly for second semester. Let's go on. >> Thank you very much. Nina Rick, >> I too I wish uh Jack a free recovery. I have no further comments. >> Okay. Thank you, Liz. >> Um Melissa is always smiling. She's amazing. Like I it just someone that cleans and has that good of an attitude. It's just she's such a trooper. She's amazing. And every time with the JPBL,
we would see her sometimes in there and everything. And there'd be kids that were pretty horrible with what they put on that floor. And the patience that woman has is just incredible. So you picked a good person to receive that award for sure. Um thank you for the um donations for the Backpack Buddies program. Um, and I just hope Jack is getting better every minute. That'd be great. Um, kicking off basketball season with all of our kids. It's amazing just to see all the kids and how much they've just gotten better every year. And I'm just hopeful and thankful for our sports programs. I like it. >> Thank you very much, Liz. Yeah. Um, I thank you for the vote of the board to keep me as president for another year here. Appreciate the um
vote of confidence there. I um look forward to the year ahead here and and to the second half of the school year here. Um I know the second half uh especially that part right before spring break and right after spring break can drag through, but the end of the school year will be here before you know it. I promise. I promise. um and wish everybody uh the best of luck as we get through winter here. Hopefully we can keep illnesses at bay in our buildings and keep kids in in our buildings and and uh with the teachers who care for them so much and all the other staff members. At this time we will move on to administrator comments. Start with Britney tonight. >> Yeah, go to the mic actually. Yeah, go to the mic.
I don't have a lot to say. Um so it feels funny coming to the mic but um we had a great start back. So a few days in kids woke up today so that was you know good. So it'll be a great great rest of um of the term. I want to congratulate Melissa. You know what what Michael said about her is is 100% true. Um, but I know that the team that she works with and the rooms that she she cleans and the teachers that she works um in their hallway, if I ever moved her, there would be a mutiny on my hands. Like they they love her and I love her. She, you know, it takes um a special person and special kind of trust to to have someone in your building in
the evening, you know, safeguarding everything when you're not there. and and Melissa is definitely one that I can trust to take care of the building, make sure that doors are locked, people are where they need to be, and um the work is getting done. So, yeah, she's an awesome person. Um happy for her, and then yeah, prayers and thoughts to Jack. >> Thank you very much, Jeff. >> Okay, Jim. Robert, nothing. Okay, Chris. woke up today. >> Is that a Is this Is that a good thing? >> Okay. Okay. Some ways good, some ways bad. Okay. Okay. >> Okay. Thank you very much. >> Mr. Taylor. >> Um, just want to share our appreciation to all of the schools and our principles for the hard work and all of the different student events they had
at the end of the first semester. Um there was so many great things for our community to attend, whether it was sporting events, choir, band concerts, um you know, all all types of activities and family engagement activities uh with Santa um you know, at the elementary. So fantastic uh for our community. Our teachers had a great um PDworkday on Monday. Um all of the elementary teachers were gathered at McCormick's Creek. Um and we had elementary principles and Mrs. Breedlove and I facilitating different uh professional development sessions for our teachers at the middle school. Um teachers got to go around um and check in and learn about uh some uh classroom engagement um strategies and activities. some things that Mr. Arthur had pinpointed um and so teachers had an opportunity to do that at the high
school. I know they were working in um professional learning community collaboration. Mr. Bolting House uh was worked with staff to talk about um the high school's mission and vision and reviewing data from the first semester. So, it's a great way for teachers to get back um and be able to collaborate with each other, get in some professional development before we started the second semester. So, um and as you've heard, the the week has started off well, and we've had good weather this week, which has been great. So, >> don't jinx us. Don't jinx us, Mr. Daily. >> All right. Next on the agenda is the super superintendent report comments. >> Now uh a few items to present to the board and make the public aware of of uh on the screen in front of you.
You're seeing the roll out of our updated website. So that is migrating forward and we're beginning to get that information fully populated uh as we go to parentsquare uh as that provider uh with functionality and having a single point of source of a single source point of information. Uh so that is now live. Um I give kudos to Mrs. Samik also uh Jennifer Schmidter who's not here this evening for a great deal of the work that they've done behind the scenes to have this migration take place of data from the old system to the new system. And uh we'll continue to fine-tune that and clean it up and make it as robust as uh parent square has been for our families as well as a a single point of communication. Uh where the goal was
to have uh the information in front of you just two clicks away at the most and on our previous website we were seeing four or five clicks away and uh people lost interest. So we're again this is a marketing tool and an information tool and we're trying to push that information to our families. So that piece let me switch here my let's start with this uh the document in front of the board and what's on the screen for the audience is the annual mobility report that has been printed by the or provided by the department of education. Um, and this information shows our mobility for the fall semester. Uh, it is get this on that first page. what the board can see with the pie charts and what everyone in the the room can see
is uh the the pie chart on the left shows that for Owen County for Spencer Owen schools we have 1,960 enrolled resident enrolly students uh we also have 495 students who have gone to public schools outside of the school district and 39 students who have gone to choice scholarship uh uh opportunities. So when you look at those transfer outs in the chart on the my or the chart on the other side, uh 355 of those students are going to another public school setting. Uh the 39 choice scholarships and then 139 students going to a charter school some way and then one going to some other public school that is another maybe a placement. Um and I give you on the second page the the information which when you compare this to last year we are
very similar in our movement of children to other schools um throughout who who their parents choose to go somewhere else. Um you will see on this the the blue bars represent students who have left the district and then a little further down here um the orange uh represents students who are transferring into the district. So I present that uh for your review. Oops. For your review, uh I take from this right now, this chart, this bar graph is very similar to last year's bar graph, which means in my mind, we have some stability in children moving and coming and going from the district. Uh so we're not um for lack of a better way to say it, we're not bleeding children away. uh but we continue to work on promoting a reason for them and
their families to return or to come to us in the first in the first place. So um we'll share that and then the last chart there is just the overall demographic uh um enrollment population over the last several years uh with the blue uh line representing the fall count and then the spring being represented by the the orange line. So, I will say uh Mr. Bolting House and Mrs. Green can attest to this. We have had kids this first week of school enroll. So, um really at the high school, we've had quite a few students enroll compared to uh the other five buildings. So, we're we're getting movement again and families are settling in, whether it be changes in housing or changes in uh um jobs, whatever it may be. But, uh, we're still we're
still seeing families come to us, uh, for their education. Is there any questions on that? Let me get out of this one. The other item I gave to you and we I shared this and I want to brag on the high school here a little bit because the graduation cohort information has been released for uh the previous year. You're going to notice um similar to comparing compensation and similar to uh comparing enrollment uh I looked at our closest neighbors and when you see Spencer Owen Community Schools uh our high school staff uh and our students obtained a 97.7% graduation rate uh which is the highest it has been correct Robert since uh Robert's time as principal and my time here. Um, you will notice there are 133 students in the count and there are 133
graduates. So, you would think, well, we should be at 100%. Uh, and I I'll let Robert just explain real briefly the why that's not true. >> They will only count only students that take us. Obviously, we have some special needs class. So, we had three students take an alternative assessment. That's count. So, yes, 100% of our kids have no business. That's why you see that number. >> And thank you. And I I ran this chart for you to to see this because um one of the things that I find important in this when when we talk about school size, uh Spencer Owen is over 2,100 students. and the exceptions above us of Bloomfield or North Putinham or Linton Stockton with 79 students at 97 students, 53 students in those graduating cohorts, we are by far
performing as a large school corporation as best as anyone. Uh you can see some of our neighbors that are below us and um what their what their schools are doing as well. So I I give kudos to the high school.
