001uh let the minutes reflect that uh all board members are present and then next we'll have uh public comments on the agenda items only. So we've got an agenda that's been provided. If you have questions or comments on the agenda, now would be the time to speak to those. Okay. So, what we'll do now is is we'll approve the agenda or or disapprove the agenda. >> Yep. There's no changes. >> Uh then I move we approve the agenda. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Uh next we will uh ask for approval for the minutes of the regular session last month which is actually on October 20th. I move that we approve the minutes of the October 20th meeting. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Uh next we have the

002routine uh consent items which involves uh reports and travel and personnel bill list numbers, payroll claims and donations as well as field trip requests. Do we have any uh questions on that? What we will need to do is pull out the uh eighth grade assistant girls basketball coach, sixth grade girls assistant ba basketball coach, and the sixth grade uh head basketball coach uh for the girls. Uh which is Josh Esle. Uh myself and and Britney Lee have been >> Who are these people? >> Has been never was people. I will make a motion to approve subject to the removal of those three individuals. >> Second. >> Okay. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Uh now, uh we will vote on those three. Uh >> I'll make a motion to accept the Le and Esto

003as volunteer coaches in one. >> I'll second. Uh Josh and I will >> I'll abstain. >> Abstain. I'll abstain as well. So all in favor >> I >> that would be three to zero. And then next we will go to the uh submission of monthly. Well actually we will hold and we'll let uh introductions take place since we just went through personnel. So thank you. Um so it's exciting when you get to promote um people that you know and that you've worked with. Um and so we've got two such people. One is um as you know Dr. Blake, she's not here tonight but she served the corporation. She's online. Okay. Y we see her heart you're floating her. She served the corporation and we will we will be able to recognize her when we have

004um retirey recognitions. We're not at that point yet for for Dr. late, but she helped us um in um come up with the questions and actually sat in um on the interviews, which is not typically what what you see, but she's uh so highly regarded by all of the co-op superintendents that they we all wanted her on that interview committee. So, we did interview on on October 29th. We had some good quality quality candidates. Uh by far the clear choice was Steven Sullivan. Stevens, our assistant principal at the middle school. Um he's here tonight. Wanted to introduce him and congratulate him. So well done. Uh and um it was unanimous. So So welcome. Now his his term will start um July 1. He may do a little bit of work before then on Yellow Claim

005and um during the summer or Yeah. during the summertime. He the reason we did this early like this is because Stephen does have a background in special ed. He was assistant director previously. So um it'll be uh great for the the corporation and great for the co-op as well. But we've got such a valuable asset in Dr. Blake that we wanted to make sure that there was ample transition time and a lot of learning opportunities for him, you know, putting budgets together and personnel and whatnot. So uh we do have a great staff. uh special ed staff, but um he'll have that opportunity to do that transition work. So that will start um July 1 of uh his position and as I said there'll probably be some new claim before then. Um but that opens

006up the assistant principal um position and you know in discussing uh Mr. White uh with Mr. right um uh the candidate that that he would like for that um to fill that role. She was already right there in the wings and and um as the dean and that is Sandy Alish Peek and um I know some of you know her. She's come and speak to the Al Optimus Club and um Sandy I'm going to embarrass her just for a second um um but that's okay. Uh Sandy had the opportunity, I won't say what corporation, but to go to another corporation as as principal, elementary principal, and she turned that down to stay here. I think it says a lot about Mr. White, about the middle school, about Mr. Sullivan, about the team that they had

007and and the opportunity of for growth that she saw here. And she's got her voice here, too. Um and so, uh it speaks highly of of her experience here. Uh and we're flattered. We were flattered that that occurred. And so, um, you know, we're we're excited that you're going to be the assistant principal. Again, that will be July, uh, 1st, 2026. So, a lot of lot of great talent here. And let's give him a round of applause. Uh, >> yeah. And well, and what we've we've had a lot of movement. Um, and so I will say, uh, I want to thank Molly uh, Bates for stepping in. She's now the dean at the high school and um last week it was something different. The week before that it was something different. So we we thank

008you for your flexibility and we appreciate your leadership um as well as we previously said. >> So yeah. >> Um all right. Thank you. >> You guys have anything you want to say or you don't have to. >> You Dr. shoemaker usually does that. So, it's a little disappointed that you didn't win my spot. >> You've learned everything. >> I just want to say thank you so much. Um, these last year and a half have been absolutely the best um my entire career in education and it's because of the people here um and in the school corporation. So, I thank you for this opportunity and I'm excited to continue this journey with you. >> Oh, yeah. Sweet. Thank you. >> Well, uh personally, I appreciate you guys especially. I've had a daughter who just went

009through uh middle school and you guys have all been there for part of that. Now I have another one uh going through um and their experiences have been very good and you know obviously you guys contribute heavily to to what that is about >> and they got to stay until your son goes. >> Yeah, he's only 54 though. So we'll see. >> Hey, no pressure. So, all right. Next, we'll uh we'll move on to the submission of uh monthly corporation uh extracurricular sheets and dispersements as well as the funds reports. This is not something that we have to vote on. It's just a time where we can ask any questions uh if we have any uh to to Megan. So, does anybody have any and we get all this stuff in our our monthly packets

010to review. So, >> there's a lot of it. So, thank you. I have a good team. So, it's not all that's going to do without them. >> I do a lot of her spreadsheets for >> Oh my god. You see the spreadsheet? >> Couldn't be further from just the joke in itself. >> So, next we will move on to new business and uh retiree recognition, which we don't have any this. >> We don't. We don't. So what we will do is we'll move on to item B and that is the uh NCAA 202526 master contract. I'll let Dr. Shoemaker uh take that over. All right. Well um before we get to that um if you uh want you you can leave at any point um because you've already been approved and uh so we we

011always say that with people that can speak or whatever once that happens you're you're welcome to leave. So don't feel um um like you have to stay. So some good uh um uh conversation occurred and and I want to thank the negotiation team. Uh Molly was the chief um Mrs. Bates was the chief negotiator and and I think sometimes they're they're contentious um events out there in the world and and it's not that way here. Um, and you know, they know that there's a tremendous amount of mutual respect. Um, and we get along and we want to do everything that we can because it's a competitive market and we want to be able to pay our teachers well. And and we talked earlier, you know, uh, I think this year was the best year ever

012in terms of uh, filling our vacancy uh, vacancies for for teachers. you know, we three weeks before the start of school, we had one or two that that left um within that period of time, but but we had them all filled within about three weeks. And that happens um because um we've got the salaries that are competitive enough to to retain um teachers and to recruit teachers. So, that's our goal. Our goal and we have a mutual that's our mutual goal. Um and so um uh if you look at our our starting salary um with the the highest in in Henry County and uh a a brag point is that we're higher our salary at $50,000 now is higher than anybody in in Hamilton County and that includes Carmel um Noblesville um Westfield or um

013HSSE. So that's that's good company right there. So, we we're proud of that and we got to we got to stay um ahead of the pack. So, I will send out a couple of of just summarized things. And this this contract includes a $500 base salary increase bringing the the starting salary to 50,000, a $500 step for returning teachers for a year of experience in 2425. Um it include and those are are retroactive for teachers. um uh increases the the pay for teaching a dual credit course from 500 to 750. Um the literacy endorsement um was differentiated. Those in kindergarten through fifth grade will get $500 and um outside of K through five will will receive $100. Um and um the um we did make some adjustments um from the current four day personal and

014eight days sick to 5 days personal and 7 days sick. Um and then we had um an additional three $3,000 for hard to find for EMT and fire rescue. So, um, pretty comprehensive and again, I want to thank the the teachers for all of their, um, collegiality and their their hard work and their trust. Um, we will send something out this week because there were some on the the personnel agenda, there were additional non-certified staff that received raises as well um, to the base. So, we because of that um, we've really prioritized um, base pay raises for our non-certified. So, those will start in um January one on January 1 and we will not have um uh the stipens that that we typically had. We had those uh for several years through ESSER funds. We

015we don't have ESRE funds anymore and we haven't given some of the um individuals base pay raises. So, we're we're glad that we can now do that. Um and we have um yeah, so I'll get an email out um explaining all of that. Um and I think that's it. anything from the teachers? >> No, just want to thank you for another good year. I mean, obviously, like you said, it's nice to be able to come in here and have a cordial conversation and not have any contention there. And we have a really good team and so I'm just I'm thankful for them, too, because uh there's a lot of strengths there, and I feel like um everybody kind of knows their role and and finds out the things we need. So, thank you. >> Yeah.

016Yeah. Our pleasure. One one other comment that I left out was it's kind of um been all over the place what's happening with insurance, you know, health insurance, and you know, we're we're we're very fortunate that we're in a position where ours only went up 4%. I that might be like a low around here. I'm not sure, but it's it's something that's we're very I'm very grateful for. And I know that, you know, I've been reading in some of the other uh contract negotiations, I've seen some corporations where it's going up either premiums are going up 10 to 16%. Um, and I'm not going to mention corporations, but you can just watch the ISBA news and see what what they're battling because there's some corporations that gave no raise and their insurance is going up

01710 to 16%. Um, so and and were higher. So, we're fortunate that we've um got Mr. Estole and we're we're in a a good place insurance-wise. So, >> it's really kind of phenomenal given that we have, you know, property tax caps and and the state budget. It's we just do so much with what we have and it takes it surely does take a team and it's just kudos to everybody involved. >> Well, there we we really there's and I I've had these conversations with the board. Um and I'm glad you mentioned that because there were really two areas that we were able to capitalize on. Um and that was CTE reimbursement and Mr. McDaniel did a great job with the the leaders at the high school because that's largely high school, not all high school,

018but largely first first semester high school um reimbursement and um Grant Fulton uh we have a lot more students in HIA this year. So those two things really did help because it it when we have so many non-certified it it does make it so that it takes a lot of money to do a little bit. So we were able to do something for just about everybody. I move to ratify the 2526 master contract with the NCAA association. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I >> uh next we'll move on to the uh final reading of new schoolboard policies batch number eight. So that we're just and I mentioned this um last month. Uh I I will be pulling um or I'm requesting to pull G 375 which is use of school facilities and all

019related policies um under G375. So that would be G375, G375-E1, G375-E2 and G375-R. All of those deal with the the um the use and leasing of of uh school facilities. And Mrs. Edwards and Mr. McDaniel um really put a great policy together about two years ago, put a lot of time into it. And so we're going to take that policy, use it as our core, and embed um this information um into the our current existing policy because it's got all of the costs. Those really haven't changed. You know, you know, how much is Bundy to lease? How much is an average classroom? How much is the fieldhouse? How much is Joe Petty? All of that. You know, how much is it? if you have a piano, not a p, there's there's a lot that that

020went into that and we're going to use that policy. So, I would ask that we pull so we vote on batch 8 with the exception of all of the G375 items >> and then they'll be in >> they'll be in I would I would imagine. Yeah. >> Okay. Um, I've got a couple of questions and I maybe asked this before. If I did, I've forgotten so bear with me. Um, who is our person that monitors all of our hazardous material and air quality and all those kinds of things? Is that you? >> Thank you. That sounds awful. >> The good the good thing is Sherry does all my spreadsheets. >> MSDS in your office. You guys don't have this because it's so riveting, but there's there's even a policy on how long a vehicle can

021idle. >> I mean, it's um >> Let's see. >> We talked about that one. >> Um Sherry's favorite. >> It's just for clarification, it's it's nearby and intake, you know. So, if there's a if there's intaking for HVAC system, >> a certain distance. >> Yes. A certain distance. We've got to provide notice >> and maybe I missed this in in previous years. We have a moment of silence every day as well as the pledge. >> We do. >> I didn't realize that. Okay. So, just um the intellectual property protocol is that based on is that similar to other school districts? >> Okay. I just I just wondered if >> based on statute. >> Oh, it's based on stat. So, okay, there you go. Okay. And um the board policy and and maybe we a little

022clarification allows for public comments before any board action and we allow for public comments on agenda on our agenda but actually our public comment section is at the very end. So is that >> no because they they see they can see the agenda and see what we're going to take board action on. So they have the opportunity to take to to make comment before that's why About 3 years ago, we opened that up and put it before and after. >> Okay. >> Because many times people would come in and talk, but it's not it's not anything to do with our agenda >> for the evening, but it's it's a a topic that they want to discuss. >> Gotcha. Thank you. >> Yep. >> So, I'll move that we approve that date as presented. >> As

023amended. This is how it was presented. >> Excellent. Have a second. >> Second. >> All in favor? I I >> uh next we'll have uh item D here and that's the first reading of the new school board policy uh batch number nine. So this is an assortment. It's kind of a sample platter of of u policies here. Um, it deals with salaries, uh, debt management, cash balance and liquidity, drones, uh, and unmanned air, uh, aircraft, uh, special interest groups and how to deal with them. So, it's kind of a catchall. Um, so, uh, it's just, um, that's just first reading. Uh, a lot of them are not required, so if you feel like one is not necessary, then let me know and we can pull that one. Uh, if you feel like it's necessary, then

024we'll go ahead and pass it. Um, I will say batch 10 will be the final batch, so we should be done in January. So, that's good news. >> Okay. Uh, any questions or comments about that? Okay. So, we'll move on to the, uh, item E, and that's the food support families. So, this one, as you know, we we we're trying to highlight um things that we're doing um that are new uh this year, and this one kind of emerged uh because of the SNAP program, suspension, government shutdown. Um and you would be surprised, you know, we even considered things like this um for today. You know, uh we wanted to make sure that kids are coming off of a weekend. They may there may be food food insecurity at home. they may not have um

025great heat or they may have to make choices. The parents parents may have to make choices based upon um limited funds. So, it's always good to get the kids into the brick and mortar um where it's warm and where we can feed them. So, that kind of plays into, you know, certainly we're not going to, you know, um um because I it's always a question when it snows like this and you get an inch or so, what do you do? because it could be slick, it might not be slick, and those are are tough judgment calls. Um, but you also factor in things like the food insecurity and and getting kids into a warm place. So, >> we have been working on that um in terms of with with the the community. So, Sherry's going

026to um talk a little bit about that and I know Gail's been helping out this cause as well. >> Sure. I just wanted to inform the board and the public of kind of some things that we're going to put into place a little above and beyond what we maybe normally do which obviously we have so many wraparound and supports and wonderful staff in our schools counselors and of course the principles and and that sort of thing but we just felt like there was a need that kind of came out of what's going on in the country right now but also through our wellness committee which Nan came perfect timing Nan you probably wish you hadn't now because I just put you right to work um but I oversee the wellness committee, which is a corporationwide

027policymandated committee for our school corporation. And there are teachers and admin and parents and students and community members all represented. And this came out of that last meeting where we said we probably need to do some things a little bit above and beyond what we normally do for our kids for this winter. So through many different discussions, um we also pulled in some other people into this to the table, no pun intended. um like the hospital uh the foundation uh people like that that we thought could you know kind of help guide us on on the best thing to do. So through all these discussions Kelly Cox has been very active with this. She's taken this on as a passion. Her sister Corey at the hospital has also been very much connected. So what we're

028going to do to start and this can you know change and we can add to it but we just wanted to get started is we are going to put in some smaller type pantries into each of our school for as needed. basis. Uh we're sending a form home this week from every school just asking parents what they foresee a need might be over the winter. And we didn't just put food. Uh we wanted to cover other things like, you know, clothing, electric, utilities, um household essentials, shelter, holiday support, anything they just could foresee maybe having a need with. So once we get that back and we have a little bit of like we all love an education data to know what our needs are in the buildings or what needs could be um then we're

029going to go from there to providing some things with pantries uh the foundation there's financial um opportunities out there with the uh foundation at the hospital that Corey is very much willing to um connect us to. I've talked to God's green bin. He's very willing to um support. I really just have put forth the idea to our administrators that we want it to be the four C's this winter. Collaboration, connection, care, and community. We want to make sure families, we connect them to what they might need. We want to make it, you know, purposeful to them. Um, we also have already started collecting. We're partnering schools. So, Nan's been great to help us make connections with a lot community groups, and we're still very much willing and open to taking some more. We really want

030to partner a community group in the school so that Jacob White or whomever the administrator might know this is my go-to community partner. We're obviously going to be doing what we can too, but we want every school to know they have a group out there that's willing to support their needs, whether it be the food or financial or whatever it might be. Um D is very nicely uh been willing to be the collection. Um, and so just from what we've put out into the world so far, we already have over 500 items collected and she's inventorying that and she and I are working now to say what is the best way to get some of these things out to the schools to start their pantries um things like that. So between uh finding out what

031our uh parents needs and families needs are specifically making sure our counselors are very and they're amazing obviously already, but making sure they're aware of what resources are out there. We're posting things on the website. Thank you, Dustin. Uh there's a lot of lists being circulated uh these days of, you know, where you can get certain things and help. We want to make sure that connection is there. Um and then we'll we'll kind of go from there and we just want to kind of live it through the winter and and meet the need specifically. We talked about, you know, standardized weekend food bags. Um I don't know that we're there yet, but it might get there. So, we just don't want to turn anyone down. You know, whatever they say their need is. I don't

032care what school. I don't care um you know what their lunch status is. Uh when they go through the lunch line, we want to help whoever needs the help. So that's where we're starting. We have a good team that's kind of gotten that ball rolling and we're building up the community partnerships and um I think we're we're going to be able to provide what our families need this winter. Um a little above and beyond what we normally do. And Nan, would you want to add I missed I mean the basics of it. Does that sound about right? >> No, I I think Yeah, it does. I I've kind of been contacting community partners and I just want to give >> perfect timing that you came to that wellness community. Everything happens for a reason because

033she has really taken the ball for us on that. >> It's uh it's just awfully it's heartening. Our community is a family. >> I mean we just started collecting what not even a week ago and >> oh I've got some stuff in the back of my car. >> He has created an inventory so we know what we have and where it can go. Oh say I already have student groups. Um Harley Walls reached out. Um Junior Optimist, FFA, National Honor Society, they want to help in any way, whether it's getting the food to the schools for the pantries, bagging food for families, whatever. So, we have really students stepping up as well. And that's all within the last week. This really took off. Gail, did I miss anything else? You would add it. Okay. >>

034So, open to other suggestions or ideas, but I think we have a good start and we just want to we want to be meet the specific needs of families. Oh, I did forget there is a flyer back here because Corey Bennett is also going to >> he thought that the J County boys basketball game will be well attended he feels like and so if whoever brings uh three items for our pantries can get in free to that basketball game. So we're also promoting that. So grab a flyer and I'll put that on social media and all that good stuff too. So thank you Corey for that. And Rama, I'll get it to you to help get that out too. >> Thank you. Yeah, sounds like some awesome stuff we got going on there. So, thank

035you for that update. >> Yeah. >> And uh now we will move on to uh Senate Enrolled Act One update. >> Thank you. So, um the general assembly this last uh spring approved Senate Bill one, which is the property tax reform and um the impact will be far reaching. We don't have a great deal of it right now that we're um that's impacting us, but it's progressively um going to um impact us through through 2031. Uh and as as you'll recall, Matt Shoemaker, the other Matt Shoemaker from Steeple came and actually provided the report. Um it was in the spring right after that um general assembly and he had mentioned that you know uh the board if if you know the information that they were looking at was accurate which it is um because we

036got confirmation from policy analytics our current tax combined tax rate is $118 that would need to move by a dollar to $1.51 by 2031 just to maintain the same level of dollars coming in. So, um, >> and that's across the city and county, correct? >> Yeah. Yeah. So, >> not just for schools. >> No, no. Right. Yeah. Um, well, that that's our tax rate, that $151, school's tax rate. >> Um, so it's the debt service and the operations combined. Um, >> so there's going to be some changes uh coming up and um I just wanted to provide an update. We we have I met with the custodians right after that um sometime probably I'm going to say June and let them know that that we would not be um replacing the night custodians. We only

037have three night custodians. One's at the middle school, one's at the high school and ones at at Wilbur Wright. And the reason we have Wilbur Wright is because the configuration of that school. There is a restroom between every two classrooms. So, we have so many more restrooms that we need to sanitize on a daily basis that um we felt like we we couldn't um you know uh move away from that. But we have eliminated and not not nobody's lost a job, but we've eliminated 12 custodians and one central office uh um staff person here. Um and so um we're we're doing our our part um to prepare for the impact of this. Um, currently 61% of our residents in in the city were actually in our um taxing authority area um hit the property tax

038caps. So that's a pretty high number. Um, and just, you know, quick math, um, it's about $2 million a year that we lose just in property tax caps, not counting the the the current, um, um, decreases. So I believe that what will um decreases in revenue I believe what we'll see throughout the state is we'll have an increase in the number of referendums um of corporations uh and the projections are as many as a hundred next year um and I think what did we have four or five um at this last voting cycle so um that's going to change and I think that's going to be interesting I you know Megan and I were talking I think it might be good for policy analytics to come in and provide a board report sometime in the

039spring, uh maybe early summer, so that we can take a look at where the what some of those forecasts are and where where we're going. Uh but one of the things that I I you know, I may not have it on the agenda every month to talk about Senate and World Act One. Um but um we'll need to be thinking of outside the box and how how can we generate um uh funds and and we we've just talked about, you know, CTE reimbursement. We had $291,000 more in CTE reimbursement this year than than the year past. And we had a good increase in in our HIKA. So we have been resourceful in in um in making sure that we can u provide for for salaries but also wraparound services that are really important to our

040kids and and families. So, I would I I'm going to plant the seed that we need to think outside the box for um uh facilities and naming of of um some of our our uh buildings. We've got Bundy, we've got that hasn't been renamed since 1971. We've got the Natiatorium, the Fieldhouse, the PL Court, and the list goes on and on. So, I think those corporations that are resourceful and um uh um come up with other ways to fund projects uh are going to be the ones that have things and the ones that that don't, they're going to have to have referendums. Um and but that comes at a usually a pretty high tax rate uh on top of what we already have. So I am not proposing that just for clear you know to

041be clear not proposing a referendum but for us to just get creative with um the resources that we do have. So um just putting it on the radar. >> Okay. So next we'll move on to the uh roof replacement uh project bid. Mr. McDaniel will handle that. >> Yes. In your board packet you have uh the letter from management uh the desires of the project. they have recommended based on the bids that we br we took brought in. We had six bids come in. So it was really well bid project and uh we ended up uh the the bid that we are accepting is through quality roofing services. A company that moisture man management is familiar with we have not worked with them but they know them and uh they were confident in providing this

042as a recommendation. $679,873 for that project project after we take out um the the one alternate um that uh the deduction that they offered as well. So u that is significantly lower than we were anticipating for the project. So we're really thankful for that. Um and uh we were just requesting from the board approval to move forward with this project and it will take place uh in late spring early summer of 2026. >> Which roofs are those? >> The sawtooth roofs. the ones that are like super jagged. >> Okay. I move to accept the uh roof replacement for the career center. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I uh next we'll move on to buildings, grounds, transportation, support services, which is Mr. McDaniel again. There we go. So, uh multi-purpose restrooms. You've seen that

043uh construction going on out by the football field. Moving along really well. Pridemark is doing a wonderful job for us and they have been including the building trade students uh specifically Mr. Chriswell and Mrs. Jackson have been joining those meetings to learn more about the project and how they're they can support. Uh we are working with a couple different engineers right now and we're doing it a study of the fieldhouse roof uh to determine what those trusses can handle, what weight they can handle as we look to potential of a new scoreboard in the fieldhouse. Um the track project, we're waiting on those final numbers still. Uh but it's been a little bit um tricky uh as they redesigned that for us in order to make it just the resurfacing. So we should have that

044very soon. Um and what reminder for transportation at last time we met I mentioned that it's going to be getting darker and it has. I did not mention that we would have snow anticipating that I could mention that today uh ahead of any issues that we could be having. So, um, as we we just all need to be aware in the public as well that the with the snow and ice that could be coming and has come, uh, to be cautious as you're driving around, especially in the mornings and the evenings. and in particular if we could get some support to from uh homeowners with sidewalks in the front of your houses when it comes time to move that snow because all of our students use those sidewalks to get to their bus stops and

045the more clear areas we have the easier will be for them to do that. So, if uh folks in the public could uh keep an eye on that, that'd be much appreciated for our students. Um if you haven't had a chance to see Pasman, uh it looks wonderful. They've the the team did a wonderful job, Mr. White, and did a great job uh helping with figuring out everything we needed to have in there to make that space even more um welcoming and something to be proud of as a as a corporation. So thankful for that uh the work that was done there. And then also with the start of new seasons for athletics, um we also have new programming that's going to be coming in Christmas time for Bundy. So keep an eye on all

046those new opportunities to go and support our students as well. It for me. All right. So next we'll move on to the superintendence report. So um one comment about the the potential scoreboard and that would be we were talking about um how can we in um raise revenue. Uh that would be an LED scoreboard that we would be able to advertise on and um that's that's something that would be extremely beneficial in terms of tight budgets. Um and so the return on investment would be pretty short. Um and that is if we don't have a donor and we could have some donor support down the line. So um that would be exciting as well. So just wanted to throw that out there. Um so um October 21st we had an event called Stand Up for

047Children. It was well attended I thought u we had board members there. We had Senator Ross was there. Uh Representative Chris Well was there just talking about um the status of uh child care in Henry County. Um and so I I felt like really good dialogue and good support from um the community. It was it was a good starting point to to have those further conversations. Um I want to brag on on Dr. Blake and uh Megan Bell. We had an audit and as as the board knows uh public might not know but every two years we have a comprehensive audit. Um the first part of that audit done and that was uh the federal special education audit uh through our co-op. that is not easy to get uh an audit that says that has

048no findings and no comments. Uh so um great kudos and that's a great way for Dr. Blake to um you know stick the landing on the last on the last one. That's that's it's very proud of her >> actually. >> Um so uh and let's go into the slides here. So this I can't do. Um, and I just look at that thinking, whoa, there's no way. Um, obviously they're they're kind of passing uh through that or or working their way through the hula hoop there. But those are students at Wilbur Wright um having a fun activity and work there. >> Is that a leader in leader in leader in energizing? >> So, I just I love this picture because it really shows the spirit. Um it's hard, you know, that's probably almost the entire staff

049and that's just fantastic that you get people to um come out and be goofy like that and sign, you know, uh dress up like superheroes. So that's the Westwood staff during spirit week and a lot of happy kids there. Um uh went to semiate and performed really well. Um Mr. Edward said, "Our journey sadly ends today, but we had had a great journey and what a great fall it's been." To all the students, congratulations on a successful season. To our volunteers, thank you for the countless smiles and hour or selfless selfless hours put in to make the season possible. To all the fans in the stands and well-wishers uh and those that made the group feel special through the cheering and um enjoyed the journey with us. So, um says thank you all. Um, eyes

050with pride. >> There you go. >> Those are all the right and little delay here. I don't want to double click. Okay. So, this one we should have had up last week. Dr. Krider called us out on it. We got it up there. So, if you would, Joel, make sure that it's it's it was in the slide presentation. >> Um, and so, uh, great group of young men right there. we we did win the sectional champion and actually we played uh Bishopard very close um you know for for them being such a great team so they a lot of great teamwork and we're very very proud of them great picture there house party and that is another leader in me activity um talking about the seven habits that are instilled into the curriculum uh so

051great job then that's Parker uh Elementary. And we've got the next one is uh the fall fun school crossover. And that was Riley Elementary in the career center join forces. Um and um that's Mrs. Robinson's high school students locked her up until she could pay for the fundraiser. [Music] All right. So this one is uh the middle school sent four students to the first science, math and uh humanities invitational. We had three competitions echo instruction, English analogy and canoodle. Uh the team got first place in the English um anal analogy and uh fourth place overall. So great day to stretch uh the brains and have a little bit of fun at the same time. and they're a hoot just coincidentally. Um so this is a bunch of kids that are from Eastwood that are headed

052over to the Halloween um uh um activity at the fieldhouse before they get loaded up with candy. >> Um leadership um open house. This one is the career center leadership openhouse. brought together the community partners, local leaders, and school administrators for look inside our programs um and action in action. Grateful for their time and continued collaboration. Mrs. Fox looks um like she's following something. I'm not sure what that is. All right, Keystone, that is an amazing uh event right there. That's from all 50 states. the national um uh FFA convention was in Indianapolis. So, really cool that that's in our backyard and we are establishing some really good um connections with Keystone just right out there um on North three North three. Um it's a it's a big um ordeal. So, um, Better Futures Day

053was, um, a great success and I want to thank, um, Kaylee Brown and and Abraham Haylor for their leadership on this. Uh, had a lot of great people, a lot of super comments as well. I think it's, um, the best quality that we've had um, probably since we've started that. So, a lot of and we develop so many great relationships with the the community partners through this process. So, we want to thank all of them for investing uh their time and in um their talent here. So, good people. Uh the Lady Trojans uh as I mentioned earlier, they took a victory um the other night and beat Rushville in in their first game. So, we'll see tomorrow night we take on Pendleton, who's really good. So, but it was nice to beat Rush because they

054got us last year. >> There you go. >> Yeah. All right, collaboration choirs. So, um I need my leaders on uh so the swing street Jazz Festival entertained numerous students from the Newcastle Blue River Tri and Northeastern schools. Um the workshop was stacked with national judges Tim Bmer, Scott Buchanan, and composer Greg Gilpin. The Ball State University singers finished this show with a dazzling performance. Bundy Auditorium is returning to its former glory as the friends of Bundy and music directors collaborate with bigname artists and guests. Very cool. Okay, there we go. This should be the last one. And um just you can see the the sheer joy winning state for the out their out of time or timeout um competition. Congratulations to all involved. Uh Amy Bell does a phenomenal job and I've told her

055that many times. Uh and uh we should be proud. But I love that picture where they're all jumping up and down screaming. Uh just got their results. So super proud of those kids. >> That's it. >> Okay. Okay. So, now we'll move on to the budget and this will be an item uh where we do the transfer from the education fund to the operation fund. >> So, actually this month we're going to do um the transfer for October expenses and then we're anticipated amounts for November and December. And the reason why we do that is in early December, DLGF will look at our budget that the board approved, but they also want to know actual expenditures or um um a good estimated amount for our expenditures. So that we want them to include the transfers.

056So by by doing all these resolutions, we can give that and that can be factored into our 2026 budget. But in November, um I'm sorry, in December and then in January, I will come back and let you know the exact amount that was transferred for both of those months. So, we'll start with the first one. Um this is a transfer from the education fund to the operation fund in the amount of $350,000 and that covers the October 2025 expenses. >> I move to accept the transfer from education to operations. >> Second. All in favor? Uh next we'll move on to the November uh transfer. >> Again, um this is anticipated and an amount not to exceed $350,000 for expenditures in the month of November. Um and again, just needing your permission to u make that

057transfer and again I will report that back um in December to uh to the board. >> I'll move to approve the transfer of funds for no for November. >> Second. All in favor? I. >> And lastly, uh the December transfer, >> the same for December, an amount not to exceed $350,000 from the education fund to operations fund. I >> move that we approve the transfer from education to operations for the month of December. >> I'll second. >> All in favor? I. >> And then next, we'll have public questions or comments. Okay, meeting journal I'm sorry I have to step out. So >> what I'm but I I wanted to thank Dr. shoe maker and the race negotiations team for the successful contract this year. And um just the whole history that we have together has

058been always positive and um has been a really successful relationship for both admin and teachers I believe. So thank you. >> Thank you. All righty.
