and a little rain shower. Again. Roots, stem, leaves, flower, sun and air, and a little rain shower. I would like to start by recognizing some of our donors and volunteers who helped to make this greenhouse project come back to life. So, thank you to our many donors and volunteers who have helped with restoring our greenhouse. It's been a goal of our superintendent, a goal of many teachers, a goal of mine, and many of the staff here and students through the years that asked, "What's that? What's that big thing over there?" You know? And now, all of these students are going to have the opportunity to take part and be in the greenhouse throughout the year, learning and growing in there. So, we'd like to thank Green Valley Rotary, Ken Woodward, Via Verde Rotary, Precision Flow

Plumbing, Raul Lopez Electrical, Continental School District Education Foundation, Robert Wulff Architects, Kevin Whiting, Lee's HVAC Service, Edgar Flores, Blossom Farms Arizona, UofA Cooperative Extension and Master Gardeners, Home Depot, Tractor Supply Green Valley, Optimist Club members, the Layton family, and the Dedicating family. You have all been a part of restoring a very beautiful gift to us here at Continental, and we couldn't be more grateful to you for your time, for your service, for your love, and for your passion, and for your commitment to our school community and our Continental Pool. I would now like to call our president from our foundation, Bonnie Clark, who also was a part of helping with getting donations and funding grants for When my kids started here in my teen of '97, uh it was it was very active. We had

this fortune to we would take the kids and and teach them about planting and they took their plants home to their parents. It was just a wonderful community uh place. And then it went into disrepair and now, because of all the people that uh wanted to have it come back, we have the next generation, or actually a couple of later generations, that are going to be able to experience the same things that my children children uh experienced. So, it makes me very happy and on behalf of the foundation, we are just excited to see what's going to happen with this uh greenhouse. Thank you. For special remarks, if we could have Mr. Bill Warheit to come forward just to give a few, maybe a little bit of history. Is he here? Uh he's not here

today. Oh. Sorry. But, he was a big part of the original greenhouse and putting it together. And um we want to give a shout-out to him. And if we could also call up any special remarks from the amazing Green Valley Rotary. Oh, amazing. Uh first I want to recognize one of our our members from the from our club. Um that's Betty Pierce who unfortunately she's not here. She's a snowbird, but she was the one who really drove this initiative working with the school. And a project like this is really in the sweet spot of a couple of areas for Rotary International, regardless of where Rotary is around the world, whether it's in in India or anywhere in Africa, South America, right here in Green Valley. There are two areas of focus that are really relevant.

One is education, basic education, and the second is the environment. So, this project really is right in the heart, the sweet spot for Rotary International. We were really uh very pleased to be working with the school to get this project done. So, today is Earth Day. And I just want to share with you one of my favorite quotes that is really relevant on a day like today. But before I do that, can I ask how many adults here today present? Would you just raise your hand? How many of you had a greenhouse at your elementary school? Ooh, I see I see one hand way way in the back. Way in the back. So, students, what I'm telling you is you are very special. You are very lucky to have a resource like this where you

can learn from, where you can participate in in growing and developing and learning about the environment and learning about plants and those roots and those leaves and how they get sunshine. So, let me share with you uh my favorite quote about about the environment. It says this, "A society grows great when one plants more trees under the shade which they will never have the ability to sit." So, have a good day and congratulations to the school for this great accomplishment. And now, we will be doing the ribbon cutting. So, if we can have students, I think that are going to be holding the ribbon. And if we could have our honorary guest, Sally Fuller, who is the daughter of Dent. She is here today to do the ribbon cutting ceremony. And Woodward and Sue Woodward

who were a huge part of the original greenhouse and were a huge part of getting this greenhouse all put back together. There's a golden one. Golden scissors. There's golden scissors. Ready? 1 2 3 1 2 3 READY? ALL RIGHT. We are super super excited and like Mrs. Wood has said, this This a dream of ours um, to get this greenhouse up and running. I did not have a greenhouse growing up and we're going to be learning alongside all of you because a lot of you know more than we do. So, we know that you are all leaders and we're all going to be leading the charge for our greenhouse efforts. You're all amazing. Thank you so much for all of our donors, for the Nathans, for all the sweat equity in rebuilding this greenhouse, for

Weber, Mr. Schubert, for all of the planning to get this going. Now, the hard part is the real hard part is up to all of us, the exciting part to keep it going, to keep it alive, to use it, and we will be extremely creative in what we grow and what we use what what we are, um, growing for our school and for each other. So, thank you so very, very much. It is Earth Day. So, we you all have a plan of what you're going to do for campus cleanup and projects and we will be very ready for our A+ celebration on Friday morning at 9:00, um, in the gym. So, thank you and I will turn it over to Mr. Nathan. Thank you. Good morning, everybody. Great to see you. Um, just a

few reminders before we go do our service day on the campus. Um, it is that time of year that it's warm enough for snakes to be out. So, make sure that your adults check your areas prior to sending the kiddos into that just to make sure. Um, Barry has already done a sweep, but they are hard to find. So, please sweep. Make sure kiddos pay attention. If you see a snake, what should you do? Move away and go tell an adult, okay? All right? And at this point, we'd ask Sue Woodward to come up and she's going to say a couple words on the final dedication of our amazing greenhouse. Thank you all. I am his granddaughter. And my grandfather started volunteering with the Master Gardeners in Green Valley years ago. Then he started volunteering

up here at the school. And in the mid-90s, he and uh Bill were instrumental in getting this greenhouse built, along with all of the organizations and volunteers you see listed at the other end of the greenhouse. Uh my family and I would like to thank everyone who participated in money to getting this project back up and running 30 years later. I'd like to think my grandfather's looking down. He's very happy that we're honoring him this way. I want to give a special shout-out to my husband, Ken Woodward, who put in tireless hours on this project. Uh the first time he was here in the greenhouse. Thank you all, and I hope you guys really enjoy this. Use it and learn. That's what my grandfather would have wanted. Thank you. For our guests, we do have

light refreshments set up in our community room, so you can make your way that way. And teachers, you all have your locations. You know what you're doing. So, have fun, and we should be wrapping it up by 10:00. Okay? Oh, 10:30. Just make sure to please just check your emails, you have your phones, teachers, so you know what the assignments are for this morning. And I'd also like to give a special thank you to Jenna. Uh, Miss Jenna, let's give her a round of applause. always that I like to mention you. take the background where you always do stuff with, you know, with such humility. And you know, you always do stuff everything with such humility. You always take the background and you watch everybody celebrating, but helped us putting in everything. Thank you for

your time, for your passion, for your company. All right. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday. Happy birthday.
