on stage and take their spots I'll give you some information about this group so just like the fifth grade choir um I meet with them during their specials times for music which is about once a week for 50 minutes and also like choir I'm really impressed with the progress that this group has made it is not easy picking up a new instrument for the first time learning how to hold it let alone Place some notes on it so today they actually prepared three pieces for you the three pieces that we're playing are hot Fross buns Mary hatle little lamb and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star let's give them a warm [Applause] welcome e [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] e [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] all [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] let's give them one more round of applause [Applause]
so for I believe all of those students here on stage that is their very first instrumental concert so really impressed with their progress up next we have our beginning Orchestra directed by Mr Fox coming up so they're going to make their way on stage and I'll hand the mic over to Mr Fox for for for [Music] in [Music] than [Applause] [Music] to [Music] [Applause] [Music] l [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Happ [Music] Happ [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] com yeah [Music] e for for [Music] all right so this is our intermediate Orchestra this year these students have been playing from or between one in four years most of them uh some of which started in fifth grade with me these are my fifth grade from when I first started um we will be playing for you menuette
Lotus dance and first Christmas March [Music] Hal [Music] h [Music] the [Music] [Applause] [Music] h [Music] for for [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so this last one that we have for you is first Christmas March I don't see our so some of our beginning students are supposed to be joining us on this go ahead beginning kids so start making your way onto stage if you're in beginning Orchestra joining us for first Christmas March so as they're joining us a little bit about the program the pro has pretty much tripled in size since 2021 so there are quite a few kids who are now joining the Arts like f like Orchestra and um and Jazz Band band choir and um we're really excited to see this growing program and as we grow we're trying to provide as
many opportunities as possible for these students through aoda festivals like Arizona band and Orchestra Directors Association um festivals last year our Orchestra went and we placed with the excellent which is a very great rating for this group we also went last year with the jazz band and for the first time in Continentals history we placed with a superior with distinction with that group so that was really awesome to see them and to see them grow so you'll see them here in a few minutes after we um play with this group I'm going to help them [Music] e for the [Music] GL [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Happ [Applause] all right so this next group so our next Group performing first is our chamber orchestra this is a
group that meets for zero hour and um they consist of our most advanced string players there are still some that I'm trying to convince that are in intermediate to join um we have quite a few talented kids here at our school that are very capable of of being in the chamber orchestra um but a little bit about what they do so they meet every day at zero hour that means it's really early in the morning it's still dark out right now in the winter time and I'm so proud of them for having the motivation to get up and get out the door especially when chamber orchestra is not a graded class it's just because they have um the love and joy of playing music and they want to get better at their craft so without
without further Ado I give you the chamber orchestra [Music] in for [Music] la [Music] I [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] the [Music] for [Music] d la [Music] h [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] the [Music] la [Music] [Applause] w [Music] for e [Music] so just like the other fifth grade groups this is our fifth grade band they meet once a week for 50 minutes and I am also very impressed with how much they've accomplished in such little time let's give them a warm welcome [Applause] [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] let's give them one more round of applause [Music] so just like the fifth grade orchestra that was their very first instrumental or or instrumental band concert up next we have our concert band directed by Miss hatch coming to join us on stage let's give
them a warm welcome [Music] like Miss Fetti said this is the concert band they're made up of sixth seventh and eighth grade students some of them have been playing their instruments for a while some of them just started this year so we have a little bit of a mixed bag but they've been working really hard and we're excited to show you what we're going to do they're starting with a song called taking it all in then they'll play attack of the slide trombones with our soloist Harper poer [Music] a [Music] [Applause] [Music] a [Music] la [Music] [Applause] [Music] go yeah m [Music] a [Music] a [Music] la [Music] [Applause] our last song is going to be a little bit of Jingle Bells upside down in it you'll notice the melody of Jingle Bells sounds a
little wrong that's because it's upside down we hope you enjoy for [Music] a [Music] la [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] oh e next coming on stage is our wonderful jazz band directed by Miss vti they have a little bit of stuff more stuff to set up so they're on their way [Music] h for hey [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] a [Music] la [Music] go [Music] oh [Music] la [Music] la [Music] [Applause] I [Music] that n [Music] [Applause] [Music] I n [Music] la [Music] of [Music] [Applause] before we close for you tonight I do want to recognize our two soloists that just played Micah cherry on the alto saxophone and a Adams on the tener sack this last tune we have for you is an arrangement of a Bassy classic it's called lose and hoses flat [Music] [Applause]
[Music] he oh [Music] ch [Music] [Applause] h [Music] Happ [Music] [Applause] w [Applause] all right so that is our Continental jazz dance let's give them one more round of [Applause] applause before I forget that last soloist was Adeline Adams on the alra saxophone as they exit the stage just a few reminders if you're interested in supporting our music and Fine Arts here we do have some tax credit forms out in the LOB um if you're interested and then we also have that music drawing happening soon and we'll be pulling the winners tomorrow if you submit for it and you're not here tomorrow at our first grade musical the littlest Christmas tree um we will call you if you put your phone number there and let you know that you've won have a great night everyone
thank you so much for being here last reminder lost and B please check the lost and B before you leave tonight thank you so much again for being here
