003provide a little bit more distance between the students but again it will be optional and last night at our meet and greet we did have um a fair amount of kids and parents who did have masks on so we know that two kids and a few staff members will continue to wear masks for precautionary reasons but we're asking at this time that the governing board support our mass to be optional and we'll continue to follow the mitigation plan in terms of hands advertising and cleaning spraying the rooms okay i'll entertain [Music] is the nurse still able to do covet testing yes that's the rapid one right yes the nurse is still able to do testing we are also still pima county health has asked us to continue to put ourselves in a situation where we

007manipulatives and we are working with the vendors right now as well because there were some student licenses digital licenses for students that were left off of the original order so we're working with the vendor to see what they're going to do but they definitely know that they're going to have to cut us a break since bundle did not mean bundle okay entertain a motion on the purpose of it please i'll move to approve the purchase from them that teachers need to teach math so they're the cuisinaire rods they're the base 10 rods they're the counters so the manipulatives are used throughout the curriculum to teach number sense so there's graphs and pie charts and they sometimes have money like coins so that they can practice counting but overall they usually are for when the students
008are going over place value in the primary grades so they have the hundreds blogs the thousands and like she said the tens rats but they're for the teachers to utilize so that they have the hands-on teaching when they're teaching the lessons and each student has has them in front of them so that may answer my question i had a question about um in my mind i was thinking this was digital so this is not sorry because because my question was a 1300 shipping charge and something was digital it didn't jump in my head so apparently that just answered that song and and we needed kids for everybody because prior to um last year we had teachers doing departmentalizing so we had one teacher per grade level teaching math now we have all teachers teaching math

012here boy so jefferson is a registered service animal let's see have a seat good boy and he's a cavalier king charles he is he's been in school since he was like 12 weeks old he is specially trained to work with kids who are elevated in there like they could be very frustrated or upset and they're very vocal he's trained to go up to them to start with and then go back to a safe distance and let the teachers and coaches help de-escalate the child and say that jefferson will come back to you if you will go ahead and have a seat or you know when you come he knows he can come back to you and he'll be safe and a lot of times the kids are able to self-sued and to calm a lot
013quicker because he um helps him and he's like the carrot for them to also calm down and um and he wanders around the school and he all the kids have gotten to know him that came to a meet and greet last night and parents and stuff and he was introduced at the of course at the um presentation last night too and so he um he's got lots of experience he does real well he um hasn't gotten hurt that he does shy away from kids who will like pull on his ears so that's a teachable moment helping kids understand how to care for pets and so that's jefferson so he came as a package with you right he did all right try that to our staff as to our staffing numbers that jefferson will be at
