[Music] No [Music] and then the so everybody can see you here and then the rest of us will stand in the hopes of months that will lead us from their seats in the bus [Music] thank you yeah so we have attended as presented or so the approval of the agenda yes yes thanks to the morning mr. go from the listening you have two quick items the first one is back during the state of the district meeting the parent advisory committee was discussed and their role in selecting the principal and at the time there was more information that was promised about that committee and what their role is and I was waiting derp I thought when we get it the first of the school year but today we really don't have any more information about that

committee and I just have three general things about that to be addressed at some point the first would be what is the mission of that parent advisory committee who's on it I understand the makeup or at least I've heard the makeup is one parent per grade just curious how that works and then also how are those members chose and I heard before that it was about teachers recommending a parent I know there's a lot of parents who would like a forum like that but it's kind of opaque we don't really don't have anything what that committee does or how do you get on it the second thing is I think we're all aware we have some bike riders now at school which is awesome my son is one of them then he is friended of

riding since last year most days except when it's brutally hot and it's been fantastic they really enjoy doing it it gets them active they get a little independence which a lot of kids don't get these days however the last couple months both of their bikes have been vandalized and we all kind of I practice my cracks are down here during pickup my son's shifter was wrenched mr. Curtis was kind enough to get him going after school but his friend's bike in the last two weeks same thing with the shifter that this time it was broken causing at least $50 worth of damage to it so I think we want all of our kids to be physically active here are two kids that are doing it we love other kids to see other kids doing it

but not if they don't have a secure place to put their bikes and right now my understanding is there's a camera on those racks but it's blocked by a tree so you can't really see it so my son just turned 10 he's getting bigger he got a brand new bike we almost don't want him riding at the school right now for fear of the damage that might happen injury just bring that out in public and let everybody know that that's happening and and say that we really would like a secure place for not only our kids but every kid who wants to ride their bike to bring the right to school my name's Luis tamson and this morning I was reading online my newspaper and I was reading about the jarasandha state school board and

a speaker there your keynote speaker mr. neo and I have been following this man and he has been around this country D legitimizing our government our traditions and our culture's MLK wanted to change change things with peaceful resistance he wants to change things with active resistance he is part of the no justice no peace that big fists that you see on TV sometimes that is violent he supports an Tifa which is violent that beats up on journalists that stops actual conservatives from going into schools to speak anybody with a red hat they are a target so that's no justice no peace and also when he said justice over civility even in your restroom you have us a sweet little thing that says be kind be responsible be nice that's civil and if we don't have

a civil society we're not going to have any justice there is no justice and it promotes bullies this divisive this promotes bullies and he celebrates bullies and isn't bully something that this board should be concerned about and trying to work again in publicly funded schools we are no longer allowed to use the biblical references about morals and values and what made this country great but yet this man is allowed to speak at a state school board meeting promoting what she's doing and I understand he received quite an applause which makes me wonder where all the critical thinkers are on the school boards across this state so this little taxpayer wasn't real happy when I read this article this morning and I hope no more of my money goes to support people like this thank you

the court and our principal has a lot of other exciting things to share after my report so but interesting for you so first of all just update from frankie lymon training we have a webinar on collections for middle school ages English language arts teacher which is our middle for our teachers for our middle school math teachers to provide additional back coursework per student and the car plan that in the next year or two you will be able to offer geometry for high school credit for our eighth graders so now with some of our seventh graders in hopes that we'll be able to offer that for our students so they enter high school qualify to get such evaluations for you along with mr. Bateman and myself mrs. Fanning and mr. Nathan provided two maids of the

strength training which is teaching paraprofessionals to deescalate behaviors and we have a free plan for their training you know he can talk to your parents about what you're doing with keyboarding and with coding he wanted a pony in which they can also do at home because their gain waist practice the who did are they're insisting we spoke about conflict of interest or for government immigration and school parents and community members on campus website accessibility right so it's really nice to see that we definitely have policies and procedures and rules in place there's times where we try to extract your attorney to be admitted challenge ourselves to see if we have we do but it's just really nice to we also had our keynote speakers and so back then excited into a lot of the local

market that we talked about and want you to raise that bill responsible and slowly tried to ensure that they are ready for the next future and warm engage folders our state superintendent with her and her presentation and her challenge to everyone was to stay enthusiastically hopeful of the progress of education in Arizona and when she presented see and we will continue to do what's best for our students I also attended an intra interactive metronome training thanks to mr. Oscar with one of two in Tucson using the attractive metronome so I went to go observe her working with one of our students and it's a phenomenal program so with our textual reference we were able to purchase the interactive metronome and specialty teachers and a community member who has worked with in other states to work

with our kids community works for developing have some positive completely ADHD they even use it for adults or for adults traumatic brain injury so we're really excited so I have some habits show me how to see that we will have available in the office once we get going we to report that they're adapting while making friends is too easy too hard or just right like their teachers and they were able to be personally for the first time this year too so we understand that it can be difficult to come to be - okay so we will be happy 15:33 the concerns are of the changes for more to fifth grade so we really want to so we really want to be proactive and kind of have this meeting so that and there's a little cult

there that it's not the little that breaks you down it's the way you carry it so we're all working at making sure that were enforcing our four lap needs the love and belonging the achievement that's truly the Bluebird attendance but national thank-you letter they have condensable as you know last year we did of the largest person and so this year we want to produce the largest animal attractions at that letter mailed out so so we are going to be doing some extra efforts between now and November for students to write letters to their grandparents we just had ground early last weekend so we want kids to write better led to their family members to the community members to teachers national West driver gays so we want kids to write letters to the drivers so that

we can prepare for another you bet so forth - service that they mentioned before that we would do report on what our climate surveys to the play so for this year this past school year weekend staff members respond we had parents 1600 students who have 81 responses I'm sorry and we had a hundred students and 32 staff response so 85% of the staff indicated that teachers have to say 46% of staff indicated students are not motivated to get good grades or that they work harder to receive good grades 81% indicated they fit all our school states and the golden ones were things that we spoke about as a leadership team and at and it provided energy and money so as an administrative team we're really making a conscious effort to undo a better job so

obviously we definitely want to be a 90% student climate surveys 82% of the students indicated that they're satisfied with their teachers to learn how high expectations and celebrate their success 73% indicate they work hard to get good grades or challenge themselves so the end user discrepancy between perception so we're going to be having some conversations a 2% of the students indicate very mean is a high priority in our school 74% that stop and that there were many adults to go to for help also all that we need percent everybody that we dealt with it and 78% Kazuki on the parent Climate Survey they're children to learn 42% indicate teachers contact them if their child is having academic problems because we're going to really work at as respected by administration and office staff 75% indicate they

are respected by ministration and administration 7% of their child for future and that technology is like today corner so that information continuation and transcendency recently two percent if you take their child lotion 83% indicate those welcome to volunteers with full and Dovie importance of volunteering at 73% indicate above average to average quality of education so we talked about the time our theme this year is getting the game team together everyone achieves more but it's getting the game and how do we encourage everyone get'em also have a game plan so administration is committed to conducting walkthroughs regularly and providing feedback two eight three lesson plans and standards are being posted some feedback with regular conversations so teachers are not posting their lesson plan inside their door so that walking that what 250 GM was done and

we're he first to understand life step includes curriculum implementation that we've also had teachers support them into to get your partner support their child so we don't want it to be a surprise at the end of the corner so at the party half weeks you'll know what the other benchmark assessment reports will already to them we are working [Music] I betcha so the server we did talk about that at length at our board retreat how do we get more parents to respond we try to offer incentives to kids if your parents billing out my Suri opendoc colony for parents to waste concerns in a tiny matter we really do not want parents to bill that they have to wait till the end of the school year to fill out a survey to give us feedback

and to come questions our school meeting minutes we'll share them to do with all staff late attorney that's something that we're doing in-house because we have different for me and in teachers are sitting on that community sometimes they're not really sure a Child Support Committee we have a Technology Committee so we're doing a better job at all our school counselor will be addressing bullying concerns and teaching particular to problem solving Oh we do have a binder in the optics that had last year and this year's kind of surveys so you like [Music] there's a lot of questions but you're welcome to come to school the binder and the responses for parents students and staff are about all right good evening everybody I don't know if I've met everyone but I'm Deanna Blas the principal this

year I look forward to getting to know you and working with all of you that school you so I'm gonna start with testing benchmark testing miss recoded already discussed a little bit about it right now the students are in the process of taking Galileo testing it began last Wednesday and Thursday for our middle school students is we can have testing for second through fifth graders and it's taking place throughout this whole beam it's a pretest so this first benchmark test is a pretest which is a baseline test it is an end-of-the-year test with all of the standards for the grade level so it's a progression that where you be able to study and speed throughout the year each time they take it it is it serves up that baseline but what's very important about this

test is that it gives us data that will help us provide interventions to individual students and enrichment as being they're progressing so we can catch regression and we can can support progression and we are getting ready to get the IDS for you guys to login for the prints to login so that you can also see it throughout the school here as well we have meetings and I'd love to stay and chat with you about it if you have any questions throughout the year publish reports were sent home on Friday and this year as Miss Reiko mentioned the publish reports will be sent home every four and a half weeks each quarter teacher conferences will take place this month on September 19th and 20th this is a time for teachers to go over grades assignments and

important data it's a time really though for everybody to come in and not so much as conference but see the success and the work that the students have accomplished to come and celebrate their successes see their words see everything that's up on the walls you know check out the area that they sitting that agrees and the assignments are things that have already taken place as you have as as you're starting to see the partnership courts but that's the time for you to have that important those important discussions with the teachers an open house will be taking place on October 24th for elementary students case you fit the middle school open also will take place on October 30th so this is a time where you know we're all done going to walk through the classroom and

your children will be able to show you everything that they're learning and introduce you to their teachers and their friends and their campus cult activities so we're very excited because we had our first post of the month assembly for the year or kindergarten all the way through eighth grade we also have the pope bookstore for the first time of the year we were very very appreciative for the third of all in tears that came out if any of you are in the room we want to thank you we have birthday books so you want to give thanks to the rotary members for running this event every every month those students who had birthdays are able to come into this community room and there's tables full of get choose the Pope and the rotary give them

little bookmarks as well so they're very excited to do that for us and we're very grateful to the rodier rotary for or coming out important news I want to let all of you know that I was here if you have questions if you have concerns if there's things that you want to share to celebrate I'm I'm always open my doors open this is my number this is my email and I'm here this [Music] did all of you chicken with me Selena if you checked in you have a little strip of paper okay so we're doing something a little bit different today what we get really we usually read what the teacher has written but the parent or the child never gets to keep the little slip of paper so this year we've decided we're gonna

give them the slip and they'll hand it to miss with us you can read it and then she'll give it back to them so that you can take it and put it on the refrigerator or in the scrapbook wherever you want to put it so they'll have it and they'll come up and they're going to say their name and their teacher right so Harlem worked hard to be kind and fair with his classmates he helps keep a tiny classroom and playground he listens to his teachers and does what he's asked meditations miss help Dennis out Swayze is a role model student she comes prepared and ready to learn me daily she's helpful to those around her and offers encouragement to keep the classroom running smoothly she's kind and friendly to all her peers and she

set a wonderful example to start this Kinsley is kind to kids and adults she's very responsible and always is always willing to help she's not afraid to make mistakes she shows empathy towards others and if everyone if anyone is ever struggling works that she gives them a fantastic pep talk I look forward to her sweet smile and hug every my head is always there to help people when they need for she follows the rules in and outside the classroom on my head it's on tasks most of the time and turns in homework on time good job sophia is honest respectful responsible and fair she goes out of her way to ensure that what needs to get done in class gets done she takes the time to ask questions when she does not understand his feelings

helps fellow classmates in Scituate to have her in Eve is helpful he follows directions he works well with others and he does his best in all she is always ready and prepared to learn if he comes into class with this great attitude and help when he needs to wait and go to Jesus Gabriela is respectful she's an extremely positive attitude and Jennifer sets a wonderful example for appearance she behaves responsibly she's kind to her classmates and she would safely in the lab her smile is infectious and I'm just and we have two special awards all right so we're very honored to have an amazing staff that we get to work with every day last year towards the end of the year the administration team trying to think of what we could do to recognize that

on a more regular basis we constantly are trying to tell our staff how great they are but sometimes we think that it would be unique to recognize them individually and so to that note after several conversations we have developed what is going to be from this point on known as the Golden Horseshoe award and so each month because we're the Colts right pull the horse so each month we're gonna pick one certified staff important classified staff and so at this time as he walks up here we'll go ahead and talk great things about him for the Golden Horseshoe Award for August is mr. Steven Lane and took on the task of trying to reorganize completely top to bottom trans finder which is our system that organizes it as well as redoing routes the entire routing

system all of our buses took a ton of ton of work he were the extremely hard as well as doing many many other things that we haven't seen in the past like apparently letters with the rules for transportation going out at meet greet and many many other things that he's constantly doing this when we called him Friday to let him know that he needed me here at the school board meeting he wanted me to know that it's not him it's his blood-covered it's his team behind that and so that's the type of leadership that he did that he immediately once he got the recognition put all of the credit activities must divert so once again our very first all right and for our teacher for August our Golden Horse award is given to mrs. windy

fanny she learned everything that she does this year she has taken a teacher that's just now moved into sixth and seventh math and so she's been mentored her and making sure she's on the right track as well as she's always won getting our tutorial program for middle schoolers up and running and so she got that going very quickly which is I know a great help to many of our middle school students who rely on that to get their home more completed and keep their grades up and one spectacular thing that she has helped us do this year as mentioned in one of the presentation is the nonviolent life nonviolent restraint training which really focuses more on how do we get to the point so that we don't have to restrain which she does really great

where we teach different things that we can do as co-workers and staff to instead of escalate deescalate situations so restraint is not needed and so that's kind of a goal and so we've done that for two days and she worked really really hard I know she was then teach the first time we had to go get trained up in Phoenix for four days to be certified trainers the two of us and so she's helped with that and tremendous program were really excited on para pros are extremely excited to have that knowledge that she was willing to share with them so this is man [Music] Oh yes unfinished business is policies is seven green boxes so it's time to lock them are there any questions comments and concerns about about any policies yes policy hiding where

it has indicated with without the passes yes I agree I remember I figured he would any other discussion yes and then the audiovisual Club sponsors so we have yes and a new choir club which I also been this exciting so mr. bananas proposed to the front to the choir Club thank you very much is there a motion well we need to try out yeah [Music] some clubs yes and a fine arts club sponsor so we so tuples emotions approval of a gonna mark feet is the sponsor for the Fine Arts yes our teachers working far beyond the call of duty when they will need to be creative and said additional type in finding and preparing to offer students opportunity but not the sponsor or in amen amen so the next item is long terms to

teacher pay increase so this yeah is your fellowship young move that we increase the pain why are we doing that effective July 1 and why aren't we just starting it January 1st so we had we had spoken first so technically you do not have to yes but this is for the launcher club with the admit bird for long term so we we don't have any current long-term so because we increase the yes the next item is ready Lucas and preschool yes I'll reduce 4 hours increase for history receptionist so yes so this was what we originally thought that we couldn't touch you with just seven hours but because of schedules or and after school I how much so again she is going to be careful that will work our nurses not here and so she

won't work two days in the nurse I'll move that we approve [Music] yes Oh yes proposed to the board to have better teachers for our new teachers and so this year being assigned our mentor teachers for new teachers very excited for that second first tiered man so so we they will meet with their 1906 series yes so they are going to be submitting their three minutes to me quarterly so they have to have 60 mean telephone via lunch email yes yeah that's but $2,000 reachny access our our social studies so that's open if I like to kill math yes so our teachers are not until now Ocean City standard truck shifted now there's publishers who are protecting us to adopt because that's what we get yes yes all about one day we approve the yes

oh right and so we didn't balance all that at all alright x-ray report yes Oh yes which is exciting or teaching throughout there's a nice dated yeah [Music] okay then no exception [Music]
