001looks like everyone will have their own microphone today just remember to unmute that so our folks online are able to hear you green on here having so few members I'm a little concerned about digging too deep into things H had IDE I was support everything Hilda comes up with so whatever gonna say I'm gonna say yes you suggesting have and I can share the redline ones oh yeah because we we had a and James I don't know if you want to call the meeting to order J I'm sorry my saes I got distracted there's so many to choose from like which one do I want a if you want to call the me oh oh right sorry go I'm ready we're ready everybody ready all right uh calling this uh meeting to order this is

002the governing board advisory committee to review policies um and uh welcome and uh so call in the meeting to work order and uh can I get a an approval of the agenda please oh wait do I have to do that approve the agenda can I get a motion to approve the agenda please all right motion and second I second all those in favor say I hi hi motion passes and then next agenda item is the call to the audience are there any calls to the audience people want to speak or anything from that no work Okie do so nothing for that the next agenda item is agenda item number four which is discussion on the policies and um we have that and then um agenda item number five afterwards possible discussion on board policy change

003and then meeting schedule and then obviously the motion to adjourn um so um I Mr Man you said that you had a recommendation on how to proceed yeah I mean I think you had mentioned um you know we it would be nice as we start to dig into more of the policies to to kind of have more of our team present um and so um I know one of the things that we have coming up and this was Miss Suarez's suggestion is that tomorrow night at the board meeting um the board will be reviewing the policies that have been recommended thus far so we may want to have a conversation about anyone who is planning to be in attendance at the board meeting in support of that um conversation tomorrow night and anything that any

004information they may want to bring with them in case there's questions um to the committee related to those items um and then the other piece would be to maybe do a little bit of the planning work for the up policies we're working with um so that way it would help U Miss Gibson mlan um and myself if there's any informational resource um requirements that the team has like if there's um policies that um Miss Gibson McLean needs to be reviewing for the statutory alignment like we've done in the past um and so maybe have a conversation about um which ones because I can't remember from our last meeting if we sort of ordered our next sequence of items that we're going to look at yeah so the the last meeting on the 16th uh we

005briefly reviewed uh jii we edited jic yeah um but there's a whole uh there there really was like a whole list of things that we were uh kind of lined up in the queue uh there's j k d a j i c c um jicg and jic those were the things I I mean we can I I we can add to that list or we can modify that list I guess um I don't know I guess it depends on how people want to perceive yeah but I think it would be it would just be because then that would allow us to kind of continue on that process that um Allen had originally kind of established for us where um you know we we get the feedback on what's statutorily required in the policy and then

006work with the portions that we have the ability to make adjustments too yeah that makes sense to me and I wanted to make a suggestion just because we weren't live at the time but just to introduce um our new member and that he's replacing right yeah okay um well let's start with that first should we like go around and introduce ourselves just to make sure that everybody's on the same page okay um so I'm J name is Das I'm the assistant principal of Gateway School and I'm the chair of the committee I'm Jay man I'm superintendent here at kraton school district and I'm not technically a member of the committee but I'm ex officio um here to support the committee my name is jez putam new member parent and volunteer at uh kraton Academy have

007two daughters that attend there my name is Johnson I'm the assistant principal at larcy Kennedy School to meet you and Tim canor substitute in the district and former teacher and parents as well oh no babe no homeowner homeowner homeowner got it okay we have online hi I'm Katie I'm on the school board and I'm also an ex officio member so I don't vote um and uh yeah that's it I don't know what else to say thank you and welcome I'm usually there in person I'm not always online Okay um so uh how does everybody feel about those suggestions that Mr Man came up with just kind of going over like stuff that reviewing for tomorrow's governing board meeting and uh uh uh possibly editing things for reviews so we can follow in the the the

008pattern that we've established with um with Allen before in the past and then what I would like to do is like if and I don't know maybe it's maybe it's too soon but at least schedule obviously the next meeting maybe the next two meetings just to give people an idea I'm a little apprehensive about doing that though if people aren't here to give their feedback but I don't know it's a suggestion we could um if the those present could determine some dates that work and maybe some alternates than if for some reason the folks who aren't present it doesn't work for them we can always adjust in between meetings so is everybody okay with that we only have one not present which is okay so we're really not got it okay um so I guess

009we can start off with the like uh do we have the presentation for the board tomorrow do we need that there's not a presentation it's just the um the policies and redlined with um the changes so one of the challenges we ran into is normally when we receive policies whoever is recommending the policy provides them to us in a format where we can see what's been removed what's been added and that's typically done either with um red text for the added items um or a black line through the removed items as this committee was doing its work initially um we weren't preparing the documents that way it appears like as we got towards the ladder stuff that we were doing we did start you know tracking it a little bit better um doing the revision

010tracking and so we owe a Deb of gratitude to miss Warez because she went in and did her best to reconstruct that um in those documents um we weren't really able to capture what had been removed as well because it was gone but we were able to identify what some of the new text was at least to make a little easier for the board to review you um so as we move forward you know it'd be helpful as we get into those new policies that we kind of keep track of what's being removed what's being added um what's being changed um so that way the the final document when we're done we can just go ahead and hand that off to the governing board um but it might not be a bad idea for us

011to take a look through it because as we've been looking at it um and Nicole actually had some feedback for us today you know we've noticed a few things where there's some Oddities that may have been either misses by the committee or misses in Translation as we've been you know kind of going through iterations of because we had multiple versions of these documents as we were making changes and the best example I can think of and I don't remember the policy number off the top of my head but there's a policy that also has a regulation and it looks like the committee recommended a change to the policy title but the regulation still has the old policy title on it so that that be a good example of where there may be like a hiccup

012um in the system and I was going to show it but you know my laptop it's hit or miss and it's not projecting so I'm gonna have to close everything down and restart it yeah because it's not letting me yeah so I think another big part of these J if I might add is um there were quite a few of these ones early on where we added um a lot of language that you know obviously viously didn't exist before and it had to be created and it was created a lot of it by um by us and so then that a lot of it had to be added after the fact I guess with some word smithing from what I remember and and it wasn't necessarily all agreed upon by the committee at the time

013it was just you know what I mean I don't know how to put it eloquently I think that makes sense Katie um there in our process changed a few times you know in the middle too like we we didn't have the open share drive and initially right so that kind of change we moved everything to the new share drive so there was a lot of adjustments that we were making as we went do I mean I'm I'm looking at the agenda for tomorrow do uh I guess my question is um what should we expect in terms of like the meeting I mean are they I'm assuming I mean I guess you never really know what questions will be asked um so you can't really plan for everything but is there I mean can you provide

014us guidance on what we can expect yeah I mean normally when we deal with policy um you know the the structure for policy work is that a recommendation comes in for a policy change through whatever the sources in this case the sources this committee which the board has asked for so what's a little bit unusual about this is typically we get get notified by some support body that there's been a change in legislation and we're recommending you make a change to your policies so like the most recent example of that that I can think of is there was um and this one's kind of been a yo-yo because there was a there was a change in Title 9 policy in the Biden Administration That was supposed to take effect and so we had received recommendations

015for policy changes that we needed to get in place in order to be federally compliant before they took effect but then there was like a a court Challenge and all these other things going on so because of all of that um you know the recommendations came forward they had been vetted by legal the board asked a few questions and that was and then they voted to implement the new policy in this case what's unusual is the board made a determination that they wanted changes to these policies and they had a committee convened to make the recommendations for those changes so I suspect there will be a little more conversation than there typically is because you know it's sort of like when trying to think of a good example when I think oh well I need

016to get a team working on how should we handle AI in our classrooms right and you you say hey this group's going to go off and be a working group and they're going to work on that and they come back to you sometimes you look at it and you go that's not exactly what I had in mind or yeah this is it you guys nailed it or somewhere in between right so I don't I don't we don't pull the board on vote so I don't I haven't heard anything from any board members that there were big concerns around the policies but as they're recommended but I don't know for sure whether there will be you know questions or concerns that come up um it feels to me like what's being recommended is very much in

017alignment with you know sort of what the the culture and and the the values of our community are that we're trying to make our conduct policies more restorative in nature more you know sort of student supportive in nature so I mean I I don't see any disconnects that I would expect there's gonna be a big firefight over policy on um there could I I agree I was just going to add to that like I also think that aside from just um making them more connected there was a lot of updating that needed to be done because some of these things were very outdated as well yes um and just from my sense I haven't had any conversations with actually anyone about any of this but um if I did I wouldn't break open meeting law

018but um in general I think that they at least two of the other board members are probably uh kind of kept up a little bit with what's been going on in the committee and would have voiced their concerns a long time ago if they thought we were going in a completely different direction than they had anticipated and so I'm confident that things should be pretty successful in terms of getting what we presented past and I'm happy to answer all of my colleagues questions and defend our work tomorrow when we have the chance yeah and that that helps a lot too having a having a board member and in our case we technically have two board members who were present for most of the work so I mean Katie's been with us since the beginning and

019I think I think Nicole joined us just a couple of meetings in so um so so I don't I don't anticipate any surprises typically it's it's more of a conversation than anything else like the the items are presented so they're they're in the documentation for the board meeting and then the board members you know will ask any questions they have raise any concerns they have if they have recommendations for changing anything they'll posit those recommendations to the board members present um and then usually what we try to seek is if there's any consensus around any adjustments or changes that need to be made in the intervening time period between the first read and the second raate so in this case we're very fortunate because we have one board meeting in January one in February so

020we have nearly a full month if there's anything that does need to be adjusted or changed or that the committee needs to look at again between the first and the second grade but if there's um you know substantive changes that may push us back to first read if there's just questions and you know considerations chances are we'll be in a position to make whatever minor adjustments and bring it back for second second read and typically second read comes back on the consent agenda unless a board member chooses to pull it because you know we theoretically between first and second read we've ironed out any issues or concerns that there are so it it just moves forward on the consent agenda and if I misrepresented any of that as far as please correct me so I

021mean my understanding from past agenda items is they're they're either like here it is thank you very much let's move on or there's some sort of slide deck that a companies H so you can give you know information on process and historical background and stuff like that but I mean and this committee did an update slide Deck with the board last spring if you'll recall right so you know just to update on the work since there wasn't policy to bring back for consideration yet so so I think most of what we might present in a slide Decker a presentation and the other thing that's important to remember is um we've also gone out to the community with most of the policies that are being recommended because it was brought to community council um there was

022a couple of other venues where where the work was shared so so it's not just the committee in a vacuum doing the work um there's been you know several sort of Outreach opportunities to get to different stakeholder groups to get feedback and input as well so I think I mean we should be in pretty good shape I think if committee members were present there really isn't a need for a presentation it may just be you know if for some reason the board wanted to ask committee members any question and as Miss gipson mlan so kindly offered since she's been here ex officio she probably can answer most of those questions okay um I mean seems like it's a pretty easy thing I mean is there anything else that we should be covering or looking at

023with this seems like um Jay um Nicole is watching live and she just wanted to say that j i and J i-r are the ones that the titles don't match oh perfect perfect yeah so that so that that's an example of where there may be some conversation around that tomorrow night because um what I couldn't recall was why the one I'm sure there was a reason why the one was changed and the other one probably should have been changed to match it um could you repeat which ones don't ji Says student wrs and EXP expectations so expectations is the new word I guess I should have put that one in red um and J is the original that said students rights and responsibilities oh and what's the concern behind that that they don't match and

024they they need a match so jir is the regulation for policy ji oh so typically the titles would be the same got it so my assumption would be that there would be conversation and then we would have to make a correction right got it and whether that correction would be to go back to responsibilities for the policy or whether it would be to correct the regulation to expectations and so someone might ask of the committee like because I think the original was student rights and responsibilities like what was the committee's rationale for the change from responsibilities expectation trying to remember that I don't think any of you were on the committee when we did that and I tried hard to remember and I failed so I'm try I I don't remember what sorry can you

025remind me the committee's rationale for changing rights and responsibilities to what now changing UH responsibilities to expectations do you recall was it just like a we were finding a lot of the language harsh or that's that sound right to me I just clear I can't remember if that was an Adriana or Alan thing or yeah and I unfortunately I know there were two meetings where I one I was remote and watching and one where I couldn't watch at all so um I not not making an excuse that it was the one I wasn't here it may have been one I was very much present for and don't recall anyway but um well I'm sure we were both there yeah H I don't really remember the rationale but I I would imagine if we just want

026to keep things consistent the only other thing I could think of was that Mr Lopez was pretty good at bringing up reasons why we used particular language if I recall so that might be another person but um yeah just like off the top of my head looking at the word responsibilities versus expectations I would guess the one thing I could say in an argument for that is that like no kid is like having to sign an agreement for this right simply by enrolling in the district these are going to be their expectations and so I would assume then responsibility probably connotates a little bit more of an agreement so maybe that's a good rationale doesn't ji have an exhibit that gets signed off I it should I think it does because I think it's in

027this I think it's in the um student parent hand look well something we can just discuss and whatever people feel we can just go do as whatever people wish and you know I think if it is really important Jessica probably would have made a note okay maybe within the language within the policy leaned more towards the word expectation than responsibility I don't know I feels like a messaging thing and you guys used it right here yeah I think that was where it was changed in the body and that's probably why it was changed in the title maybe make it more in alignment with the the body of the policy at Katon uh students and parents do actually sign policy agreements at the beginning of each school year yeah we um I believe the kraton academy

028and I think bmore Preparatory Academy as well well I think all the handbooks have some type of but isn't there an additional I thought there was like an additional agreement at those two schools no I don't know but I do I do know when we were um re I to describe it not I I'll call it reconstituting because I don't have a better word right now the kraton school as the kraton academy one of the things that was kind of part of the process because of the uniqueness of the school was that there would be an agreement that was signed off on I think it ties to like parent volunteer hours and a bunch of other things as well so um so and I I could I believe there's a similar thing at builtmore B

029but I can't remember 100% for certain so okay well I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow yep yeah at this point we can't make a change because we're past the 24hour window but the but the board can certainly make change or recommend it a change and then ask for that adjustment to be made prior to secondary so and a reg is easy change because it doesn't require second reading yes that actually is a good point because regulations so just an interesting distinction board policy requires first and second read unless the board suspends the second read um the regulations and Exhibits only require that the board be notified of the change and so um that could be done in a board meeting or even through a board update so um so if regulation is misaligned it

030doesn't create any problems for correction because we can just correct it and notify the board that the title's been corrected okay anything else question she's just like what do you mean all right I just want allow space for it uh at some point could I have the document shared with me it doesn't need to be right now but I need to add you to the Google Drive yeah yeah sorry about that um we need to make sure you have editor rights on the Google Drive so that will help immensely okay um so then the second part was uh to uh try to see if we wanted to uh alter or add to the order of policies uh so uh Miss Gibson McAn can go and look at it and make sure that we're ready to

031review and just so everybody's aware here I know that some of us are new here uh essentially our process has been we uh look for policies that are related to our our mission prioritize them and then uh we uh we have uh we try to look ahead to things so miss Gibson McAn can kind of look at the the legality of things put in notes and when she shares the drive with you she you can see how it works and then you just kind of look through the policy uh see after Miss Gibson McLean adds her notes and comments and stuff and then uh essentially you look through it and see what uh if you have questions about a policy or the wording of it or something that you feel needs to be highlighted or

032changed in some capacity and then uh when we come back to the next meeting we'll go through the policy and then one by one we kind of go through the comments and talk about you know what is this question that I have what is this change that I'm proposing and then as a committee we decide talk it out if that's something that we want to support as a committee or if we want to modify it or things like that that's kind of what we've been doing for past year and a half now um on that on those kind and throughout that process we've identified other policies that have popped up in that conversation um just to kind of um because they they in one way or another they've connected with different things too so that's

033just been kind of our our process for that and Mr putam I'm no um education law expert but what we found is that with very good one moment please um what we found is that a lot of these policies are heavily um near the criminal code and I'm a public defender at the county and so um that's kind of where my analysis is coming from obviously have like General legal analysis as well but then when we've gotten done with all of these we' we've had our um our legal council for the district sign off on them before we send them to the board yeah thank you for that clarification I appreciate it um there was something else I was going to mention and I can't think of it off the top of my head you'll

034come back to me okay um so the the the ones that we've review that we were the intention was to review was in 129 we had JK d a j i c c j i jic g and jic h e um uh we can keep that same list we can add to it the only thing that we kind of briefly went over was uh ji and we edited jic but I don't know did we actually I don't think we completed jic right or did we does anybody remember that that wasn't I wasn't here at the last meeting so I'm not sure were you here I don't remember wasn't here oh you weren't here me well you guys aren't going to be helpful James where's your where's that your priority list because is that different than

035the completed policy checklist that you're looking at um it was just notes that I took uh and Miss Warz emailed them out to you uh after that it looks like Adriana is the only one who went into it and said vitals check Clarity on it that's what she wrote oh okay and there's something that's has a strike through Under the Influence has a strike through is this GIC this is GIC drug and alcohol use by students seems like an important one yeah I would agree after today um yeah so we can we can kind of keep the same order it I I don't I mean I don't feel like we made a lot of progress with that anyway I just um shared the link with you thank you is is there a way to note

036on because I like that the completed policy checklist is there a way to note which ones are currently either currently being reviewed because I mean it's just either yes or pulled or Oh you mean like an in progress thing yeah or in progress or maybe maybe just kind of note the priority there so that's kind of where I can go and be like oh you know for example I don't want to look at JKD because we need the first read for JK to happen before I before we're moving on did create a 2425 policy edits folder in that folder yeah you're talking about like I see yeah I see the edits and that that one's good you're talking about having it all in one place I just just you know because you're Jame you're reading

037a priority list that you wrote yourself and I think it would just be helpful to have maybe the priority list somewhere that's shared between everybody yeah okay I don't know what the formatting would look like but if it could be included in this completed policy checklist page that would be very helpful maybe we could make it orange that seems to be the only color that's not represented or it could be you know it could be a separate thing just kind of down below where we just kind of keep track of the priority oh I see what you're saying it doesn't yeah we don't have to like keep adding more colors to this or anything but it would just be helpful because you keep rattling off J followed by letters and no I hear you say

038yeah I think we used to have a list somewhere but it was like in the middle of a policy or something so I think yeah something on that Central document would probably be helpful even if it's down at the bottom and I mean I can even type it out if you want to go back over that priority list yeah we can do that might as well you ready sure okay j k d a j i c e e c hold on give me one second I gotta take it down a page J okay read so JK d a j i c e c j i c h j i c g uh and uh j i c h e and then wait there's one more um jii because we reviewed ji but we didn't do

039much with it and then there's also ji R are we including that one we probably should see if it's under the I don't think it's on this list specifically but we yeah and it's not in that 20 2425 policy edit folder either but it's on it's on it's on this oh that means we we already did it it's it's showing where okay so I'll add ji and j i r okay so I mean me personally I feel like that's a lot right there and since we uh didn't really make a whole lot of progress on the last meeting um I don't I mean I don't really see any point in adding more to it do you no okay so um I I mean I guess I feel like the recommendation is just let's just keep

040what we got and uh that could give uh Miss Gibson and McLean an opportunity to kind of go through those and um provide her perspectives on it and then at the next meeting we can go and um uh be ready to uh with the comments that are on the these policies to go over it as a committee does that sound that sound okay okay um and uh just a reminder uh the edits that you make um because this is a uh governing board committee uh the public does have access to them um so anybody can go in and see and view those edits so just so you're aware of that um and um sorry James are we doing edits or just notes or comments well the what we've been doing is comments so like you

041highlight something and you have a comment about it either a question or a difference in a wording something some form of edit or review or observation on it basically the uh Google Docs are just viewable view only mode so they can see comments notes edits anything that's being done they just can't do anything themselves to the documents right and then that streamlines the conversation we come back so we can be work smarter not harder um okay um I feel like we're rushing through it but that's okay with me um the the next piece after this is to uh go and talk about um what is this possible discussion on board policy change recommendations oh that's we already talked about that right or did we I'm looking at the next agenda item discuss the policy change

042recommendations that the governing board will be given first reading at the January so we we we I think I think we flipped the sequence so okay I just want to make sure we didn't miss anything okay so then the the last one is uh item number six which is the meeting schedule um I I think it would be a good idea if we I my recommendation is that we can just for a convenience sake for scheduling at least schedule out the next two meetings and then maybe come up with some backups in case um they uh the that uh Miss abadaka is not able to attend that okay all right uh so we have looking at calendars um we usually try to do uh uh meeting uh twice in a month so the 13th and

043then the next logical one could be doesn't have to be but could be the week of the 27th um which would put it at I mean if we were if we were to stay consistent with the Mondays it would be January 27th or if people think that's too soon um we can push it into February too I'm okay January 27th Monday's work really good for me perfect that works for me oh okay all right well that's okay so January 27th is our is our uh and and Miss Wars will send out calendar invites too for people uh January 27th and then we have uh moving into the month of February um the next logical one would be on the 10th or the 17th 17th is the President's Day holiday oh so definitely not that um

044so the 17th the 10th you mean oh sorry I keep saying that and you keep reminding me the 10th I'm looking at the wrong one thank you the 10th oh do I have a basketball game oh man I probably have a basketball game too um that reminds me I should bring up that schedule too we have basketball season anybody want to throw one out sorry did you say the 10th I'm confused uh we suggested the 10th but uh uh uh not everybody's available for the 10th okay so we have a governing board meeting on the 18th and then um obviously the 17th is a holiday so other than that what February 11th or yeah I was going to say the not to mess up the theme of the uh Mondays but what about the 11th

045oh Monday tues do you have a basketball game that whole every day that week I don't know uh so the 13th is community council Council so we can't do it then well James do you have a basketball game on the 10th uh on the 10th you might not not all schools have games that's kind of the problem is that's true doesn't look like it no I mean if the majority of us could make it on the 10th then I think we should just go with majority most of the time it's going to be difficult yeah as long as uh madaka can make it totally if we have two out that would be no Quorum right no it looks like no it would still be Quorum because you only need three oh two were out we're

046still good okay and Adriana has been pretty good she's been pretty consistent about so she just had something come up today so she can probably make the 10 yeah and typically APS are the ones that supervise uh Sports yeah so and if she can't we can deal with it on January 27th okay so do we want to uh keep the 10th then okay so February 10th and then the next one is uh the 24th doesn't look like there's any basketball games unless somebody wins that works for me I hope somebody wins besides my school no just kidding just kidding oh no wait that's for makeup games never mind yeah so the 24th is available anybody have of the 24 look at that we're rocking and rolling so that's the 24 so that's like what how

047many is that that's four right there right no that's three three yes let's try one more well the only thing is now we're into March and then we have spring break and we're on a roll that other good stuff the last time we did this everybody had all these conflicts I think because of the holidays okay so let's try one more what was the next one after so March 3rd is the week after but then March 10th is the first day of spring break and then the following Monday is St Patrick's Day obviously that might only mean something to some people I have no idea are there religious connotations to St Patrick's Day I guess it depends on your religion I would like to I would like to join that religion if you end at

0486:30 you can still go celebrate I mean you have a lot of time to celebrate if so that would be March 17th yes right um oh I'm looking at February wow okay March 17th all yeah that works sorry thank you okay I'm a little nervous about going further than that feel like it's GNA fall apart after that okay and so I'll send the calendar invites tomorrow morning perfect awesome okay um did you want to prioritize the priority list at all we've tried that before yeah I know I know you say that in Jess but we've tried that once or twice before in the past and it's or assign I mean a Committee Member to at least go through and add some comments just so that there's something there when we come back well the whole

049idea is that we collectively do it yeah yeah I we the only thing we usually wait for is uh for Miss Gibson McLean to do the legal stuff that from her perspective um and then uh then after that it's everybody yeah so yeah please feel free to because I mean that's the beauty of Google docs right you everybody can be going and editing on it and adding to it and it definitely when when you when we come back and we see and it's actually very helpful too for people because you'll see people editing it and it it always helps me out when I see the uh the comments off to the side because it starts to get me to think about oh okay I didn't think about that or like go back over another paragraph

050that I might have skipped over because I see two or three people making a comment on it so I would definitely uh uh recommend that as soon as Miss gipson McLean is um is done with her process that get in there as soon as possible and be brave you know you can always delete right I mean if there's something on there that you're like should I put this in there put it in there anyway um because it's just you know it's part of the brainstorming process and it really helps spark conversation um so no no there there are no no no stupid things so I don't know if that's the right way to say that that doesn't sound very nice there's no there's no ridiculous things that you can come up with so anything that

051anything that you think is like ah I'll throw that in there throw it in there anyway was Adriana the one that was making these the policy edits um she kind of was like the uh the the person who was I especially for this policy my understanding is she was the one that was like really kind of taking lead on it but it it's I I don't think that was her intention I think she's just like she's just awesome and going in and trying all these different things and stuff and because there's three on here J KDA j i CC and jic C G which do not have a Google doc created to make comments on oh okay I put little asteris in front of the ones that do not have anything to comment on at

052the moment okay so who did that before in the was that Adriana either Allan or Adriana yeah I think it was originally Allen and then Adriana took over after Allan pass so can I just get some clarification on exactly what I'm doing for the next meeting or have I already accomplished that you're you're doing all the work for us no I'm just kidding um no the uh the the policies that uh Mr canor put in the in the document that the completed policies checklist uh down at the bottom he added the policies the priority lists and if you uh take a look at that um and go through those and add your perspective on that that'll uh make it easier for us to follow suit okay great and are those in the order that we're

053going to address them in the meetings well that was Mr canor suggestion is do we sorry I had a little meltdown here not me my guess is for your sanity um that would probably be helpful for you right so you don't have you don't have to worry about like going through all of [Music] them yes that would be really helpful if we could just put them in order or or notate what we anticipate with the possible date of the meeting we anticipate to address it out and Katie currently there's only three of them which have a will doc to even put comments on right now oh yeah I usually make them myself so that's why oh so you're been been creating the Google Docs yeah it's me I'm the culprit that messes things up no

054not messes things up Oh I thought I put I always end up putting it in the wrong folder or something like that that's usually the the issue that's okay Katie the three in that priority list at the bottom of that completed policy checklist the ones that have asteris do not have a Google doc so if you okay okay I will take a look at all this then thank you so much I appreciate it is it in a folder yeah it's in the folder it's it's called completed policies checklist and so in the folder though because I don't see it I found it in the rout of the folder I thought no did you find it in the folder I thought I did hold it but then the folder disappeared on me so I'm gonna tell

055you I found it in your it is it's under archive it's in it's in the archive yeah if you go to if you go to the folder archive and then governing board policy and then it's the first file that at least pops up for me oh that should probably be moved out of the archive right because that's kind of a working document I had it bookmarked so it probably got moved into the archive when we went to like the final policy versions for the original set I'm not able to move it so maybe I'm gonna try to move it because maybe if somebody who has access can move it I was like I found it in an email from Hilda that was very helpful to be like oh here that's why I said I go

056I can't see it and I have power than you all the completed policies I don't have to look at anymore should I put it into the 2425 policy edits can you just put it into the the main governing board policy yeah just so it's a standalone document when you open is it called governing board the drive just because I'm already like in the thing where I can't see the the main folder is called governing board policy committee or is it a shared Drive might be a shared Drive I think it's a folder oh okay hold on current location it does say I think if you put it in that main folder governing board uh policy committee like right there along the folders um that would probably be the best place because it it's that's a

057working document that we'll use for that's kind of our Guiding Light in my opinion okay I'm going to move it for right now into the editing folder because it's not letting me move it anywhere else okay but let me see if it went in yeah if you put it in the 2425 policy edit yeah so it's now there I see it there and then the we sort of had a an order I mean because in 129 we were supposed to do ji and we only reviewed jii briefly so to me the priority moving forward is ji put it at the top of the priority list and then uh we edited jic but it definitely wasn't finished so I would say that would be second or first or one of those is first and one of

058those is second I feel like those two should be up at the top and then after that you know I feel like it's dealer's Choice there you go I reedited the priority list to mat your priority does any we prioritize the priority does anybody have a burning passion for the rest of the I could see moving the jicg because it's also related to the drug alcohol toac put that under the and the g is just is that a separate policy or is that a I think it should be dashy I think it's the exhibit it's the exhibit right because there's Dash e and then there is one more exhibit HR but I think when I was looking at the actual policy there's jic and Jr so do we not need to look at jic e

059we probably should look at both- e and r- r because jic is just in order to comply with Federal funding requirements the district shall and it's oh okay so maybe we don't need to look at uh we probably should it may be that Miss gipson mlan tells us we can't make any changes because it's a federal requirement but I think it's worth bringing back to the board so we at least acknowledge we're not changing it and the reason whyle mle M M M M she's on speaker you can ask I pronounced it like two or three different ways okay it's mlan like mlan Virginia oh I grew up in grew up in Temple Texas and there was mlan Industries but I think it's spelled differently yeah there's a lot of different ways to spell it

060but um what was I gonna say I don't on the tobacco is are we talking about the tobacco and alcohol one say tobacco use by students jicg oh yes I don't know that I read that through that yet but I may have I may have actually looked through it and thought what Mr Man said which was that there's really not much we can do here but I'll take one more look before the next meeting yeah the well uh Mr gor that don't have Google Docs so my guess is you probably reviewed all the other ones except for those bottom three no that makes sense okay yeah I know that makes sense yes okay that's probably a great assumption and I'm just and I think it's it's probably one we can't change because it's okay you're

061talking about the g e no that's GIC G oh gcg yeah and is it is it I'll ask the question this way is it inappropriate for like when she finishes her edits to like maybe she emails what she email you like is there a way that we can be notified hey she's done get in there do your thing that kind because that's what I'll be waiting for yeah I think if if she lets me know I I can let you guys know okay usually in the past she uh Hilda has definitely helped with doing that the problem has been me is usually the problem so um so I will try to make sure I get this D in a timely fashion you okay all right I think that's it unless there's anything else anybody else

062has okay all right look at that uh can I get a motion to adjourn motion to adjourn a second a second all those in favor I hi right meeting adjourned thanks everybody thanks y have a good night good night see some of you tomorrow three of us
