001awesome yep College order all right Lindsay I'm going to call this meeting to order all right so I'm going to start with the land acknowledgment Creighton School District understands that our community of schools are located on the ancestral land of the oatham Druid and akamal Ultram people who descended from the hohokom and have it inhabited these lands since time immemorial the oatham whose name translates literally to people or a vibrant culture in community spending countless Generations into the past continuing to thrive in the present and carrying a powerful Legacy for Generations into the future with this acknowledgment the Creighton School District formally recognizes that the traditional care in keeping of these lands by indigenous people is an aspirational model of community stewardship that we are committed to honor with practices policies and human relations um
002Nexus Pledge of Allegiance um pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it should dance okay so we have Miss Lindsay McCaleb on the phone Miss trevory and myself oh roll call I did roll call okay we would like to welcome everyone tonight to the meeting we are open to the public and in any individual Desiring to address the board shall complete the appropriate card and submit to board assistant board members are not allowed to address items that are not on the agenda if you are in need of special accommodations please call the superintendent's office um so let's go to number two number two approval of the agenda so I'm going to move since we only have Lindsay for a couple minutes I want to move
0039A to be heard first consent items and then we will lose Quorum so we will hear those two items in your second yeah I need a second second all those in favor Lindsay aye Ms Nick Jeffrey hi hi all right public comments we have one um from Katie Gibson McLean and because we are short time we're going to keep it to two minutes tonight my other public comment that I had planned because I was going to discuss something regarding the last meeting however I'll wait until the rest of the board is here for that um I'm trying to I love I try my best to be patient and maybe it's because it's the second time in the last week and a half where I've gone to a public meeting and had my time wasted I
004sat for two and a half hours at a city council meeting last week for them the last minute change an agenda item that I was trying to comment on and be sent home um so and here I am tonight I had like prepared reading a bunch of stuff before this meeting while trying to feed my kids and show up and that's just me and it's not about me there are all these families and kids here and I know I'm preaching to the choir because you all are here um but at the same time I think I know it's there's open meeting law requirements however there should be some way for coordination to happen and know ahead of time if people are going to make it or not especially when you have people here that are
005ready to get presentations that have taken time off work that have brought their kids that are cutting into dinner time all that and I know crap happens but like there has to be some way to coordinate ahead of time and also honestly and I'm not I'm this is not coming from anything personal but if somebody's not checked in and they're checked out then maybe it's time for for them to move on and if somebody's in a position of leadership then they need to take responsibility and figure out what their schedule is and where they need to be and who they need to talk to in one so those are my comments I'll save my other ones for the next meeting thank you thank you all right so we are going to move straight to 9A
006Madam president members of the board Dr Lewis and executive team mistina doolian who would normally do this report is is ill this evening so you're stuck with me but I will give you the use of bond and override proceeds report for fiscal year 21 and 22. I'm going to move fairly quickly so if there's anything you need to go back and go back over please let me know so Bond overview we did have an 85 million dollar Bond we have completed all three sales and we must reasonably expect to spend 85 percent of all those sales within a three-year window of time I've got a chart here that has Bond expenditures if everyone with anyone would like a paper chart I brought back because I know there's a a lot of actually it's the next
007chart that the paper chart is for because it's even bigger but um this was for fiscal year 22 you'll notice there's a lot more empty spaces we are working our way towards the end of our bond program there were a lot more expenditures earlier in the program here you can see the historical Bond expenditures by site so we do track them by individual School site and you can see that historically over time going all the way back to fiscal year 11 we like to keep that extended time frame so that way we're kind of able to see it along Capital investments in each of the sites the larger numbers that you'll note are those sites that have had rebuilds within the last decade plan projects if you if you note this slide a lot of
008these things will look familiar they were actually this year sorry last year's projects there really weren't a lot of new projects for this year but a lot of last year's projects due to supply issues will forward to this year in addition to these projects there is a server room project that we're working on to upgrade our server capacity throughout the district and then for fiscal year 23 most of the new work is related to the project with the Canada with the new sport we built on the Kennedy campus for Capital override you'll see here about 6.5 million dollars in capital override expenditures you can see the distribution and you'll note that a lot of it was Central in the curriculum Arena that's that map adoption that we did and then the other large portion was
009in technology with the feature laptop refreshes and the iPads that were expended it's not noted on here but it's important to know that about set nearly 700 000 right around six hundred and eighty thousand dollars was also brought in from school facility boards funds which um helped offset our Capital expenditures cr223 expenditures and for maintenance and override this is important last year it funded 4.7 million dollars it is on the ballot November 8th for reauthorization the same items that have been since it was originally authorized in 2014 are prioritized and then the auditor general does give us a report every year where they look at the dollars in the classroom this is in arrears this is for fiscal year 21 and March time frame will get fiscal year 22. and you'll see it's relatively flat
010compared to the prior year as far as the categories and then this shows the percentage changes and that's where you can see that it's pretty flat and per pupil spending per year by our peers and by our district and the last thing is the bond and override cycle this is important because on November 8 we have our next meeting it's an operations override and we saw we're at the tail end of that Bond and 2024 may be a sweet spot for that next Bond authorization to continue maintenance of our facilities that happy to answer any questions Lindsay do you have any questions no thank you I'm good hey Mr Jeffrey um we besides the like we've done some Community meetings on the override that is on the ballot now right correct okay how many of
011those have we done um probably only about three so far this year normally there's um I think the big struggle has been not all of the groups that I've met with them the pastor back in the in-person swing again there's some were trapped between the old virtual swing and the new inverses thank you I have no questions thank you Mr Man now we're going to move to consent items I have a motion for consent so I move approval of consent items there it is um a through K in accordance with policy bedb Dash e wait a second all those in favor aye Lindsay and can I just make a comment that I'm about one of them that I'm really excited that we're sending our staff to the is T conference because it is an absolutely
012incredible experience and I'm extra excited that we're sending teachers not just District administrators so aye thank you Lindsay and I motion passes so Lindsay you will be leaving us now correct um if there was there anything else we need to vote on there's no additional action items there were some reports that uh we'll we'll defer to another meeting perfect thanks sorry guys I did plan on being out tonight thank you so much Lindsay all right because because we do not have Forum anymore um we will be adjourning this meeting we need to make a motion just adjourn
