And so, for sound purposes, the sound is only for the folks

online. It's be a little awkward. They're going to be talking to a microphone and you're not going to hear anything different. Okay? So, I'm going to ask them to kind of And these are our student ambassadors. So, as you all know, this is a highly program and we are so proud of the effort you all make to represent our school in such a prestigious manner. So, I'd like to ask you if you wouldn't mind take a little bit of time here just to introduce yourself, maybe talk about your high school experience a little bit and maybe also your future plans. >> All right. I'm Gabby Melvin and I am a part of the health science pathway. I plan on going to OCTC to get my associates in science and enter the program for diagnostic medical

synography. My name is Allison Day. I'm also in the health science program. I'm also very involved in the Y club. I plan on going to USI and attending the occupational therapy program. Hi, I'm Ava Lucas. Um I'm not in a pathway, but I'm very involved with band. I was the drum major this past year as I also have had the opportunity to co-op at South for their um band class and I plan to attend Western Kentucky University and major in music education. Hi, I'm Abby Davis at Henderson. I'm involved in the Y Club and National Honor Society. And after high school, I plan to attend University of Evansville and major in biology. >> Hi, I'm Cat Single Arington. I am also from Hoken Kai High School. What am I saying? Sorry. Oh my god. Um

I am involved in FBA. I am also in the health science pathway and I will be um attending St. Clone University and majoring in exercise science. >> Congratulations. Give these students a hand. >> Well, we appreciate all the energy and effort you folks do go through to uh support our schools and to uh represent our schools and to uh work in our community as representative of school. Next item on the agenda would be to approve the uh agenda that we've received prior to the meeting. Is there any questions or concerns about the agenda? Then I'd entertain a motion we accept the agenda as presented. >> So moved. >> Have a

motion from Mr. Alvis. >> Second for Mr. Smith. All those in favor signify by saying I. >> I vote unanimous. Next item would be public participation. Uh this would be the time of our meeting that if anybody would wanted to address the board for any matter that is not on the agenda, we would give them time, but it would be after they filled out a form. Miss Robin said nobody's filled out a form, so we'll just keep moving along. Uh we've received the minutes from the November 17th special regular meeting of the Henderson County Board of Education. Is there any comments, changes, or concerns about the minutes as presented? >> Move we accept them as presented. >> I have a motion from Mr. Alvis, second minutes as presented. Second from Mr. McGar. All those in

favor signify by saying I, please. >> I votes unanimous. Miller, I think you're next. Is that correct? >> We're moving pretty good, aren't we? >> We're moving right along. I'll keep >> All righty. So, is this going to I'll just speak. >> Well, yeah, they'll hear you here, but they'll speak into that to the folks online. >> Okay, I got you. So, we had both our progress meetings today for both jobs, East Tits and South Middle. Again, I'll keep this short and sweet. South Middle, we're off to a start there. We've demoed about six sets of classrooms. We're going on to the next three. By the end of the break, we'll probably have about 12 classrooms demoed. Going back with ceiling grid, new fire protection, stuff like that. Had a little issue on site today.

We addressed with some ceiling changes. Nothing major. We got that taken care of. So, that'll open up some more work coming down the line there. East Heights, I know every time I've came in here, I've told you we're behind schedule, behind schedule, behind schedule. And I'm just going to keep prefacing that, but we are fighting to get back. We've made pretty much everything up to get back within a month by the time year turns. And as you can see, what's going on out at the site is trusses are pretty much done. Roof decking is going on as of today. So, you'll be seeing that here shortly. They actually got a decent amount spread out today. And then right at the turn of the year on that one, you'll start seeing the shingle roof system go

on. That's all I really have unless anybody has any questions. >> Anybody have any questions? Mr. Miller? >> No. >> Dr. Lawson, any comments? >> Really appreciate the work uh happening at East Heights and at South Middle. Uh it's exciting times. Uh had a chance to be out in the community a little bit today and a lot of folks are seeing the work that's going on there and they're excited about our students having these opportunities and these kind of facilities. Thank you. >> We appreciate you all. Thank you. >> Thank you, sir. Appreciate the time. Mr. Grace, you're next, please. >> You don't have to run. >> I am trying to get my steps in. Um, good evening, board. Thank you for allowing me to uh have another opportunity to speak. Uh, Dr. Lawson, board,

you have my uh report. I'm just going to hit a few highlights that I wanted to add to it that happened since we submitted that uh last week. Um one of the big things on there, the personnel, we've added some new staff members. And one of the things we're proud about is a lot of these staff members are in our building. So, we're getting some more young teachers on in archery. U Mr. Melton is going to be coaching with us. Again, in basketball, we brought back Jason Lions. And then John Reynolds was a new ad last year to our staff. Uh again, that young man is is helping with baseball, basketball, uh WSON, he's he's phenomenal, uh special ed teacher with us, and we're just loving having him in the building. Uh baseball, we added

Logan Hasslam, uh he's going to be helping with our pitching staff. Then Aaron Hower, who's another local, uh member of our community, uh is going to be working with kind of like player logistics and player development and some field issues that we're trying to uh get better. So, we're already seeing improvements with the field and that's due to him and others, too. So, I want to give a shout out to them. swim. We brought Shannon Thompson back. Shannon's been in our building. She's coached tennis before. She's worked with swim. So, she's going to be helping Melanie Maize with swim. Uh I know they're gone tonight. I know Mr. Thompson was kind enough to help us out because they needed to leave right after school. So, he's driving the bus today like we all we feel

that need, you know, and so again, we appreciate him for doing that. But, uh one of the things they did was they competed over the weekend. Uh and they got first place, I think, in the swim meet in Owensboro. So, a big shout out to the swim team. That's something that happened since the report. And then softball, we've uh added a female coach by the name of Hannah Springfield. Hannah's going to be joining us from over across the river. Uh and so again, we're looking forward to seeing her help our young ladies continue to make another run at a successfully uh season in softball. Uh facility-wise, just want to kind of follow up football, we finalized our speaker installation with the visitor side there toward the very end. we didn't get to have full effect

during the season, but I think we had a great season with the team uh and with the some of the changes that we were fortunate with the board to do. So, again, football is kind of complete there. Fencing is almost done. A couple little tweaks there and we should sign off. Uh basketball, we have um asked several companies to come in to give us a quote uh for our sound system to try to upgrade and get that back up to par and get it to where we're prominent and uh probably the best. we need to be the best in the region and definitely want to get there. And so we have one quote back right now waiting on those other three to come in and then we'll get that information to the peoples that have

the power to make some decisions. Uh and then the other one on facilities was uh scoreboards starting in 2728. We're going to have to have um game clocks, shot clocks. So we've already reached out to some vendors to look at putting those in and try to getting in a year in advance so that we're ahead of the game and we're playing with that a year before they go out and then our staff are trained to use them operate. So again, I will talk with our maintenance department to determine if that's something they want to install or we want to go out with an outside vendor once we uh determine who we're going to purchase from. So again, those are some facility things. Uh again, the winter sports is concluded. We had great sports there. Um

winter is, excuse me, fall's completed. Winter is underway. Uh basketball we're playing tonight up in the gym. I have a young man by the name of Dre Waller up there running the scoreboard right now. So I left the whole thing in his hand. And if you don't know Dre, he's a freshman here with us and has volunteered to work with us in our programs. Uh, tremendous young man. Um, what else? Swim, bowling. Bowling was, uh, very successful the other day against Davis County. I just wanted to kind of bring them to the table. And then our rifle team. Not only are we athletics, we're also activities. And, uh, one of our school board members is is volunteers many hours with us. And so, I wanted to make sure that we recognized him, but also the

team. They were competed this last weekend in Montgomery County, which is uh Clarksville area. Uh they were second place in the advanced shooter with a score of a 108 um against a West Creek Valley team out of Tennessee. And then our new sporter shooters were third place with a score of an 876 with the winning score was a 926. So again, we're seeing huge drum uh jumps. We also host the state meet coming up is it in end of I believe the end of January 1st of February. So thank you for your time Mr. Alvis on that as well. Um >> I'm I'm I'm very much the assistant. Uh there needs to uh the Berie family mainly Johnny Berie is the heart and soul of that program. uh and he has been he has been

involved in teaching marksmanship to the youth in this county for very many years. Very many years. Thank you. Uh the wrestling program will host the regional tournament this year here along with uh I think we have some uh basketball coming this way as well. So again u excited for the year. Any questions? >> Anybody have any questions? Mr. Grace with regards to support. >> No sir. >> Dr. Lawson, any comments? >> Just to comment on Mr. Grace and our whole athletic department. As you see now, oftentimes our coaches are here before the school day begins and our coaches are here long after the school days end. It encompasses many times late nights, weekends. U just always appreciate um the leadership of Mr. Grace and our coaches, all of our sponsors. extra as you saw in

the slides extra and co-curriculars are a pivotal part of the development of the child and so just appreciate all those all that goes into that it is a lot thank you and thank all those we want to make sure I know this board feels that way I'm glad you pointed out Mr. Alvis Mr. Alvis thank you it takes a lot of energy time and effort to coach to sponsor to do all those things >> and I and I'm blessed because I have the leadership of Miss Amber Thomas and Mr. Ryan Rush, they kind of, you know, the hierarchy, that's who I I work under. And uh again, I can't do my job without them and they're very supportive in what I do and my staff as well. So, and I brought some calendars down that

have some of those local sponsors. I left them on the table. So, feel free to help yourself. Take one back to your school, take one home. I got plenty. So, thank you. >> Thank you, sir. Appreciate it. >> Next item would be information with regards to student overnight trips. Dr. Lawson. Yes, sir. So, we moved student overnight trips uh under reports because at the request of Mr. Albus, I reviewed the policy regarding overnight trips. Miss Bird and I reviewed that policy. Mr. Bird, do you mind kind of speaking to this? >> Sure. Sure. Actually, I give Dr. Lawson 100% of the credit for bringing this to to my attention. I think we had changed our practice probably in the past based on maybe a recommendation of a board member or request of a board member

as to how we did things, but our policy didn't necessarily align with what we're doing. According to our policy, any student trip, that is a regular athletic event, tournament or playoff event, or a trip within 250 miles can be approved by the principal. And then the policies goes on to say that if it's an overnight trip, it can be approved by the superintendent. So the board only is required or policy has to require to approve anything that's outside those guidelines. So an overnight trip outside the 250 mile radius. Um, so when we were talking about it, we're like, well, there may be a desire to to do it differently in the future, but right for right now to ensure that we are doing what our policies say, we're taking it back to, you know, just

following the language in the policy so that the instead of requiring approval for all these overnight trips, they're going to be put on the agenda in the report section for the board review. So you don't have to on all of them, only the ones that will be overnight trips outside of a 250 mile radius. And we may revisit that because calculating that 250 miles was trickier than we initially thought. Um, but for now, that's that's kind of our plan moving forward. >> Makes sense. Appreciate that. Thank you so much. No old business to discuss. Next item under new business would be to set the January board of education meeting from uh what would be January 19th a Monday which is Martin Luther King Day to January 20th which is a Tuesday. Any questions or comments

with regards to that? >> I suggest >> so I entertain a motion that we set January 20th Tuesday as the uh regular time for our board of education meeting. >> So move have a motion Mr. Alvis second from Mr. Smith. All those in favor signify by saying I please. That's done. I didn't mean to move on your business, Bob. >> That's good. Perfect. >> Next item would be to approve a change order number nine on BG22-506, the high school renovation project. >> Yes, sir. U speaking of some of our renovation projects, we're doing a CTE renovation project as well. And tonight, I'd like to request board approval for change order number nine, so that we could add sprinkler lines underneath the new duck work uh per per the fire marshals inspection, adding uh that adds

about $1,300 to the charge, new breakers in the existing panel to feed welding booths, adding nearly $2,000. Uh you all can see the specific numbers. 1315 and 95 $1,973 and 72 and a credit for not installing a paging system subtracting $22,000 for $22,400 for a total credit of $19,110.33. So, we're coming out on the right end of this and it's another one of those times while we're in there, we're going to do some other upgrades. So, I'd request the board approve change order number nine for BG22-506. >> You heard the superintendent's recommendation on this change order number nine. >> Entertain a motion. Have motion, Mr. Alvis. >> Second, Mr. Smith. Is that right? >> That was Mr. McGar. I'm sorry. Y'all a lot quicker than my head. Move. All those in favor signify by saying

I please. I vote unanimous. It's approved. >> Thank you. >> Next item is the consent agenda. We have uh five items under the consent agenda. Second reading of the academic calendar for uh 2627. Uh shorten school days for a couple kindergarten students. Bid recommendation for worker comp track, excuse me, trash pickup, mental health counseling, and snow and ice removal. And uh which is not going to be renewed. activity fundraiser request from Jefferson and uh the child nutrition procurement plan that uh mirrors the federal dollar limit. Is there any questions on any item that's under the consent agenda that needs to be pulled or discussed? >> No, sir. >> If not, I'd entertain a motion we accept the consent agenda as presented. Have a motion. Mr. Albus. >> Second from Mr. Smith. All those in favor

signify by saying I please. >> I. >> Mr. Stokes financial end of the business. >> Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Thank you, Dr. Lawson, and members of the board. It's my pleasure to present the treasures report for the month of November 2025. Our total receipts for the month were 22,39,188. Our total expenditures were 8,333,500 which left us with a net change of $13,975. Excuse me. 13,975,688. >> A balance of 90 million. Looking good. Dr. Lawson, >> there are no questions as >> by Mr. Stokes. >> So you've heard the superintendent's recommendation. You've heard the report on the treasures. >> So moved. >> Have a motion, Mr. Alvis. Second, Mr. Gar. All those in favor signify by saying I, please. >> I vote unanimous. >> Thank you. >> Paid warrant report. >> Yes, sir. Thank you again,

Mr. Chairman and Dr. Lawson. Thank you, members of the board. The paid warrant report for payments made between November 18th of 2025 and December 15th of 2025 totals 3,953,469. >> Any questions, Mr. Stokes? On any of the bills under there, Dr. Lawson? >> If there are no questions, I'd request the board approve the paid warrant report as presented by Mr. Stokes. recommend. >> Have a motion. You superintendent recommendation. >> Motion to >> have a motion, Mr. Alvis. >> Second, Mr. Smith. All those in favor signify by saying I, please. I >> I vote unanimous. >> Thank you. >> Mr. Robin, would you let the record reflect we received personnel items conducted since the last meeting and been reviewed by this board? Any other questions or comments? Entertain a motion we adjourn this meeting. So, motion

Mr. Alvis, second Mr. McGar. All those in favor, doesn't matter. We're leaving. Appreciate y'all coming. Thank you all so very much for what you do.
