All of these are >> like to welcome everybody to McQuary County Board of Education special board meeting March 23rd 2026 5:30 p.m. office call to order and roll call. Braxton >> here. >> Drew >> here. >> Cody here >> chairs. Before we approve the the agenda, >> guys, what we need is a motion to amend the agenda and approve the amended agenda. What we're amending is removing item 4F because the contract did not get in time. So, if you can make a motion to approve the agenda after removal of item 4, that'll cover us. But we don't have the agreement yet for that grant to approve it. I'll make a motion we approve the agenda with the removal of 4F. >> I'll second. >> Chairman, >> Drew, >> the communications at this time. Prayer by

Mr. Brad. Lord, we come before you now. We speak over the students, our staff, our community. We just speak your blessings over them that the Lord would bless them, keep them, that Lord, you would make your face to shine upon them and be gracious unto them. Lord, that you would lift up your countenance upon them and give them peace. And Lord, we thank you for that now in the name of Jesus. Amen. This time to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Superintendent Communications, Dr. Taylor. Um, since our last meeting, we've had some student athletes that participated and we have one that done really well and I'm sure we'll have them at our April

board meeting. It's a regular meeting. We've had several students that participate in various competitions. So, really proud of those guys, girls. And then we have the report on personnel employment authorization. We just need a treasure report in general fund. We have our state payments and revenue from tax payments and special revenue. We had grant reimbursements. Our district activity funds we had operational expenses from our D accounts. Um construction fund we had some activity related debt service. We made some bond payments. Food service reimbursements totaling 199,000 bringing us to a general fund ending balance of 11.674 million. >> Any questions? Mr. >> Thank you. No public comment. Need a motion and second for actions by consent with FB 4 being removed. >> Which one removed, John? >> It was 4F. >> Okay. I'll make a motion

for removal of F. I'll second chair vote sign. >> Drew I >> Cody >> I actions with discussion discuss or take action on FY27 staffing location. So to sum up our staffing plan for all the schools and the district combined, we have a decrease of free enrollment driven positions tied to SBDM allocations and special education case loads. Uh we have three positions um that were down. Those were positions that were just one year only positions that the principles chose to do positions instead of supplies. So they knew those were going to be one year only anyway. And on our title one funding, we don't have that grant allocation just yet. And and that's a pretty good size grant that we employ a lot of teachers out of. So to kind of save and give us

a little bit of cushion to make sure that we are covered with all of our expenses. We're currently holding back on four of those positions. We anticipate that we we're optimistic that we might get that funding back. If we do, that's positions we can restore. So all of that together, we're down a total of 10 positions. Seven of those are grant related and we have the potential to bring four of those back. So we also been notified that we have eight upcoming retirements. So if you combine all that together, the 10 that we're down and eight is retiring, we're down public, too. How many of those? >> Potentially four. >> We have to wait for our grant funding to come in though. >> So technically >> possibly. >> What grants were those? >> Um the

the three positions that were for one year, those were five and the four that we're holding on. >> Thank you. motion that make a motion we approve the FY27 staffing allocations. >> Hi, >> Drew. >> Hi, >> Cody. >> Hi, Es. Uh, next meeting and the journ next meeting of the Quick County Board of Education will be Tuesday, April 28th, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. the board central office and to a journ. Thank you.
