Okay. All right. We'll go ahead and get started and I'll call our meeting to order. Um and at this time I will turn it over to um Miss or for consider awarding bids for the Muenberg County High School Auxiliary Gym. >> Right. And I'm actually going to turn it over to Lewis with Kodell. Um I think you all met him a couple of months ago at a board meeting. So he's going to take it from here with with these bids. Thank you all for uh allowing me to be here today. Uh so on the 24th we uh held the bid opening here at the board office for the uh flex lab and auxiliary gym. Uh had pretty good participation across the board. Um but after review and lots of discussion um then code construction uh
would like to make the recommendation to the board uh to approve the base bid uh on the sheet I believe you all have seen and then the alternates uh one addition to that. So, I would recommend that we approve alternate number one, which is the owner approved uh or owner preferred HVAC and controls. Uh and that is a no cost item. The mechanical contractor had included your preferred controls in their base bid. Um but that just formally accepts uh your preferred HBAC controls that you're used to uh which is train. And then alternate number two uh would be replace the telescoping bleachers in the existing competition gym. Um, so the base bit amount would be uh, and this is just construction costs, does not factor in everything else that Miss Or's uh, sheet does, but
just construction costs would be 8,674,732.13. And alternate number one would be a $0 um addition. And alternate number two would be a $487,929 ad. >> What is that? $489. >> 487. That's the >> So that's uh replacing all the uh bleachers. >> Okay. >> In the existing gymnasium. >> So basically 487 is the cost of the equipment the FFE in here. I would say >> uh roughly. So there's some minor electrical work of uh $5,100. Uh there's a little bit of uh miscellaneous demolitions, things of that nature, but you're the bleachers themselves are the biggest cost there. >> And if you all would like, we can go through line by line uh as far as the contractors that were um the the biders we are recommending or uh if not that's that's fine, too. So
on that um that bid package form that you got the amount we have is um has 15 cents on the end but it's actually 13 cents on the end. Right. >> Yes, that's correct. So, it does show 15 cents. Uh, but if you notice for bid package number 12, food service equipment, and bid package number 14, elevator, uh, I have to input a penny on those lines in order for the spreadsheet to to do its work calculating. Um, so it should be 13 cents. But then you also have the correct um amount and the correct information on the um total cost sheet that um is what one of your attachments as well. So then we just um if you don't have any questions, we just need a motion to accept um the bid package in
the amount of um for just the construction cost. >> Yes. >> Correct. Um is 8,674,732.13. I'll make the motion, Stephanie. >> All right. I have a motion by Mr. Porter. >> Second by Miss Bard. All in favor of considering awarding the bids um for the high school gym, please say I. >> I. All opposed. I hear none. Uh we're down now to approval of field trip request and that was an addition on for today and I'll make a motion to approve that. >> Second by Mr. Johar. All in favor of approving the field trip request, please say I. >> I. >> All opposed. I hear none. Um is there anything else before we adjourn? I've received the football schedule. If we want to do the cookout again this year like we did last year for
the staff, I'll send out the dates of the games and y'all can look at it and see if it's something we want to do and go ahead and get it on the calendar. >> Okay, that sounds good. >> Yep. Right there. >> Yes. >> You don't need no more for that. >> No, we don't. We're just we're just discussing right now if there's anything else that we need to talk about. All right. And um I'll just need a motion to adjurnn if there's nothing else. Oh, >> hold on. So what about the bleachers? Do we they're in that cost? So they're in that >> they are in that. Okay. All right. Okay. >> I just saw a hand. I couldn't see >> a but >> Oh, there's Okay, there you are. Jan >> the bleachers
were part of that cost and they are in that cost. >> Okay. Is there anything else? >> And we do have a time limit restriction fork construction. Correct. >> Time frame. >> Yes. So the uh the the easy way to say it is prior to school starting back next year. Uh we are quicker than that. Anticipating losing some days to weather. Um but our utility tie-ins are over fall break. So, as minimal as possible impact as far as construction, uh, clashing with with any school um, activities, anything like that. >> And what's the, um, what was the estimated time on the auxiliary gym completion? I know you're going to start. How soon? And what was the proposed time frame for that project? Uh >> I know I won't be on there on here by then,
but >> uh July 13th, I believe, is the the schedule start and that's just due to uh getting contracts out uh shop drawing process. Uh the first thing we have to do is get the utilities move before we can start the actual building construction. Um, so prior to school starting, we will have fences up, uh, uh, temporary bus loop, um, everything we need to do with that, barricades, what have you. Uh, that that will all be in place. So when students come back, everything that's their new normal. Uh, as soon as those utilities are in, we will make the tie-ins that we need to over fall break. And uh then the goal is immediately following fall break, we give back your uh your current bus loop. Um and then from that point, building construction, we're
full steam ahead. Uh looking to finish u mid July right now, but as I said, we will lose some days due to weather and miscellaneous things. So allowing ourselves some time to slip and still u complete prior to to school starting back in August. All right. Anything else? >> Yeah, just just a time restriction on ank just having a bad experience with high school project. Uh just make sure somebody's pushing them on timing. >> Yes, absolutely. Uh I've had a lot of conversation with them uh over the last uh um few days and uh they're looking to uh repair their image and then uh we are already you know looking on Kodell's side as as your construction manager you know how how best to monitor each activity they're doing making sure they're staying on task.
will know, you know, within the first two to three days of each activity, uh, whether they're going to meet the completion date. Um, so really, you know, not looking at the big picture, really drilling down, uh, when it comes to that. >> All right, sounds good. If there's nothing else, I'll just need a motion to adjurnn. >> A motion by Mr. Johar, >> Second by Miss Bard. All in favor of adjourning, please say I. >> I. All opposed? I hear none. We are adjourned. Thank you all. Thank you, Chris. Thank you.
