so uh rece See rece for the expenses. Uh kind of the same deal. Uh this is more what it should look like. Uh as far as a normal month uh more or less construction will probably be around 51 52%. Thank you. Down now to our public participation. All right. So, we'll move down now to our superintendent report. Um, our personal action. Um, I just wanted to show you all we received some pictures the end of last week of the fieldhouse um, completed. So, I just wanted to share few pictures here. That's the house that will be in the concession stand. This is in the middle school. Um

outside the where the concession stand is and then bathroom and the locker room. So I just wanted to share that with you all so yes. I think we haven't like finished all the paperwork and everything but the the email that I got said everything. So, I feel like I'll have to do like one more. All right. And um moving to the next instruction. I'll turn this over to Just kind of want to give you a snapshot of where we are. This will be an update as the process. So this is for the jam. So we're here tonight understand we start getting a little more engaged on a daily basis So the construction documents here early May come back construction start to kind of help construction biggest ideals come in June approval in regard to district

facilities plans. We continue to go back and forth. We have sensible here. We think this number is this or this value this calculation says, you know, your population is this. We got to go through that kind of stuff there. How best connected to the elementary school building that's also challenging schoolident has this kind of stuff on that right We have ongoing conversations that process because of that really came down week aware of we took that through processility study we don't Easy one. Yes, we did at some point. We can't do one until we're kind of doing as much work as we can. We all our student representative is going to to share. Grooms and we're going to talk about our trip to New York about building future education. um expands the perspectives beyond our community,

bigger realities, bigger projects, bigger. So this gives us the program for public research and leadership focuses on improving public education systems. We talk about things like 20 years. How we see how we want our future. We use conversations and bring students together to discuss real education issues. We did work outside. Here's some pictures. I was at the bar with my name tag my desk there with all of the kids who were all all the kids like 10 other kids from New York and we were just talking about our experiences here and things that we don't have things that we're very >> I love how that's Jessica in front of university and The kids with the yellow tax are the group and that's our leader and I actually decided to do this one. We're going to

talk about how it brings the profile to life. So we don't see a lot of that and being basious and we discuss rural education issues across communities there and then effective collaborator we work with New York City and other districts which collaboration um and skilled communicator we work with just ideas too and creative problem solver we develop ideas and strategies these things in our school and we made power. And then uh our results we developed like a spreadsheet like a paper and we're also launching a website with Columbia University which is going to like share our thoughts. Hey, do you have any questions about that? >> How are how are parents involved in those areas like in the communities with education? How are >> the parents involved in? >> We actually didn't have a lot

of parent. >> How are those kids like the schools? >> How did we get there? >> Like they we was student based. So they're really worried about like what our thoughts are. We we like develop. >> Yeah. But for the kids you all met, are their parents involved in education? >> Oh. Oh. their team like their teachers and stuff like me. Any other questions? I'm going to talk about my trip that I took with his and his going for spring break. Um, here's some pictures from Churchill Downs where the Kentucky Derby is on the left and then on the right is go Dolphin and that is the winner of last year's derby and see trophy from last year and I thought it was really fun to be there. There's Missing that really just um there

they are swimming and like 20 ft deep water for tomorrow. And then there's one of the on treadmill in the water. And then on the other side is us at the races at this last day. We're at the horse park and fun fact, the second picture is a real horse, but it had been taxed. We um shown how we used to move horses onto ships to get them places. And then there's saw a huge draft force. And then that is where bury the body right there. tonight. Um, Kate and I did not talk, so our presentations might overlap just a little. Um, just want to share it's been a a busy last month and a half. Um the last time we were here for a board meeting, I told you about the group that was

going to Texas. Um and this is just a few pictures with that designing the future of education in Texas. Um we got to tour the facility that serves as their career and technical center, but it is kind of like a mall with a lot of shops and different opportunities there. Um community can come in. So, it was really neat to take a tour of that and hear how that worked out. Um, listen to the superintendent talk about how um, you know, he looking for answers for ways to be able to to build this uh, CTC for their district and, you know, how he kept going and kept trying and, you know, was um, persevered to be able to figure it out. So, it was neat to hear him. I said that um that gentleman has

more energy in his kinky than I have in my whole it was just a ball of energy. He said it's lots of fun to listen to. Um we of course when I talked to you all last month we were able to present on our pract room um and this was one part of that facility. So they have rooms that are sectioned off for presentations like this. Um and then they had a big arena. Do we remember how many seats were in that arena? Over 7,000. Over 7,000. So they bring in like big time shows um which helped to fund um part of that. But it was a it was an amazing facility to be able to see. And then um we broke into groups kind of like what Kate Skyler talked about with the future

of education. We did the same thing. And so I thought it was neat that, you know, they were doing it from a student perspective and the five adults that we had got to do it from an adult perspective. So we were in groups um not with each other. So we were with other people from around the country and got to create what we wanted to see in um a school or an education system and then had an exhibition of learning. So the picture in the corner is um Mr. Blake. I was able to go around it. um we did it in rotation so while one some of us were presenting the others were going around and then we swapped um so I didn't get to see every one of the presentations but um and then

there's a group of the five of us it was an excellent opportunity um what were your thoughts about the street uh it was pretty what a high school could be just the classroom learning scene being I mean this facility had restaurants, bakeries, boutiques, shops, uh all like she said the arena bar and fact that so many students are I just I can't words how amazing. It's a great opportunity. So so glad we were able to participate in that. Um so then the next trip uh was the deeper learning conference. You see up there uh the group that went we had um an array of teachers um who were able to join us administrators um to to go and to learn. So where we are in that picture, we got to visit a farm lab. And

so this is a school system there in um on the outskirts of San Diego that had some land that had been donated to them through um an organization. And the the deal with the land was it had to be used or it went back to um who had donated it. And so they kind of got together and created and dreamed of a farm lab. So, one part of this is an actual farm um where they grow crops and those crops go to the schools. So, they use them in their cafeterias. And then the other piece of it were classrooms um where the students from the schools there's a schedule and they come throughout the year and they learn about um farming, they learn about conservation, economics. Um but there is a uh I forget what

her title was but she was basically the administrator and so she oversaw the farm but then also oversaw the the teaching part on the other side. So it was an excellent we spent that day on Monday seeing that. So it was an excellent um opportunity to do that and then um the deeper learning conference started Monday afternoon. Um, and I put this in here because, you know, we think we were at Hite High in San Diego, which is an amazing campus. There's a an ele elementary, middle, and high school, and an international high school all on this one uh block basically the street. And and so when you're there, you're like, this is an amazing place. Like, if only we could be, you know, in in a setting like that. And then in the hallway

we see that they have the same problems. We stop holding hands and get to class, right? So they deal with a lot of the same things that we do as far as you know when you have students, right? Um so it was neat to see that little bit of um okay, it's reality um here too. So anyway um it was a great opportunity. I had to leave that trip early to get back for the ecoin trip, which was a fast pace from Wednesday to Saturday. Like, we were boom, boom, boom. So, by the time we got to the hotel at the end of the night, we were exhausted. Well, I was. They probably stayed up a whole lot longer than I did, but uh it was an excellent opportunity to see the horse industry and

to know the millions and millions of dollars that are in that industry. And so you see Kate's right. She had one picture of me. It was horrible. So I'm very proud of her for NOT POSTING THAT PICTURE. I was a little scared. Um so that first picture of me and this is a first for me like she said. So, I went from a little scared of the horse to touching the horse to on the final day I rode the horse. So, I'm excited. Um, it was a neat trip. Um, and in the in the bottom there, you see the like greenhouse, you all know the castle as you're going into Lexington. I did not realize, and this is where this trip was was really neat. I did not realize they have a farm behind the

castle that supplies some of their like herbs and vegetables for the castle, but they also do a co-op program where they send out baskets of the produce. Um people sign up to um to get those baskets. But it was neat to see that there was a whole working farm behind that castle that you don't even see. Um and then there's K. We all got to help hold these precious baby goats. Um, and I called my husband that afternoon. I was like, I want to go. And he said no. But anyway, it was a lot of fun. It was an excellent opportunity to spend with the kids um and connect with them and learn a lot in the process. So, I love being able to do that. All right. So, that was my presentation. We'll move

down now to our attendance and report. Oh, sorry. I thought she said that was it. It's okay. We'll roll with it. So, good evening board members and yes, um I'm here to do our Mil School presentation for this school year. I have with me one of our teachers, Miss Lori Chapman. She is a math teacher. Um she's a site based member um she's a union member. She is an intervention um teacher and she's a parent. So she's here to kind of chime in and give you a different perspective on different things. Um so first off we kind of um it was a new year. A lot of new happened this year including me in a new role. Um I kind of took a little tip for my elementary people out there and thought let's let's

do a theme like elementary likes to do. Um so uh collaboratively we came up with the theme level up because we felt like um in years past we had established a very strong foundation particularly with our culture blueprint. We didn't want to change anything but we just wanted to take it up. So we we just challenged staff and students alike just to level up this year. in the first day of school. A lot of those pictures are decorations of the first day of school backdrop stood there took pictures. Um I'm going to shout out my amazing administrative team because I absolutely do nothing what I do without them. Um not going to spend a whole lot of time on that um on this slide, but attendance is up, behavior events are down. Um not going

to give you a whole lot of numbers and all that, but um just wanted to throw just some common pictures of people in the hallway and just some fun we have. I have to say that that picture of myself with a actually taken today. Um cuz they come in and visit at least once a day and he saw my presentation up and so we got to take pictures. So we did. So this is my now one thing one initiative that I started this year at Milbury County High School. We named it the Mustang Union. Um basically we took the principal principal advisory council um student council and an aspect of the spirit club. we do still have a spirit club. Um it kind of meshed them all into one group that we named the Mustang

unit because we felt like those at least two organizations were trying to do the same things but just disjointed. Um so we wanted to just have a comprehensive cohesive unit. We do in Mustang Union have four different areas of you call them subcommittees if you want that we focus on. Each of them is comprised with uh faculty members as well as students. Um, so our four focus areas are faculty morale, academic achievement, culture and relationships, and character development. Um, it's been um a work in progress for sure. We're not exactly where I would love to be for this year, but it is year one. Um, I'm excited for what year two will bring. Um, some of these pictures we two things that we've implemented um are Mustang Mondays. So, the first Monday of school um

of every month, the faculty of the Mustang Union have different colored Mustang Monday shirts, M&M colors. That's actually supposed to be the blue one, but in person it looks purple, but whatever. Um and during her huddle time, um each class gets little packs of so it's just kind of an incentive. It's a Monday, but Mondays don't always have to be negative. So, give them a little incentive about that. And then we also have implemented what we call high five Fridays. Um it's just simply going around and giving people high fives in the hallway during transition time. Some people don't like they like fist bumps and that's okay too. Um but we do that on the last Friday of every month. Kind of like woo we just finished another month to go. Um just another simple

very cheap inexpensive way to culture. part of the Mustang Union um challenge or challenge is to do nineweek rallies. Um we did a first day of school rally. Um the only rally that we missed this year was the second 9 week rally and it was during the two weeks of the ice and the snow and once we got back into school, we really didn't want to make it and stop, you know, classes and take time off for that. Um fourth nine weeks rally is coming up on May the 4th. It's the day before we start ASA testing and so it'll be a a celebration of that too. Our faculty members get involved just like our students. Um that bottom picture of the green sweatshirt is one of our math teachers, Miss Holly Parsons. Very competitive.

She's very um so now just some highlights. Of course, we're very proud that um across the board we did achieve green with last year's KSA testing. Um I was part of that team. Um but that was that was a whole team effort. Obviously one person Kim Carver was here. Um but students, staff, everyone is very proud to be green across the board. Um there are the numbers there. The only thing that dipped a little bit was the postsecondary readiness and that is because 2 years prior we made such a jump that is it's difficult just to kind of maintain that but less than a point decreases. STILL quite impressive in my opinion. Um our main focus in testing this past year was our special education. um we were a TSI school for that um I

think maybe for two years in a row. So we were almost at that point where we were going to be in trouble so to speak. Um so we really kind of focused on that and changed the way we did things and it became an entire building effort. Um it wasn't just you were the testers, you did your proper test and the rest didn't. It was it was a collaborative effort and and it paid off. I mean that that's quite a significant jump. We are no longer TSI. So we're grateful for that. uh hot off the press literally came in this morning. We got our EOP results. This is in the program for our CTE wing. Um you can see there how many pass or how many took it, how many completed u the number enrolled

how many took the test and completed it and then how many passed. Um our pass rate is at 62.6% which is pretty much maintaining and holding steady of what we've done over the last couple of years. So that that's quite impressive. Shout out to our CTE department. Another thing that legit came through my text message at 3:02 p.m. today is we got our SAT scores. Um, we obviously have not had time to really dig in. Um, but I at least wanted to shout this out. You may see the number and think, why is this good news? Well, SAT number one is brand new for everyone. Our staff doesn't know a whole lot about SAT because ACT is the is the standardized test around here. Our students didn't have a clue about SAT. We did a

lot of prep work. Um SAT is scored out of a total of 1,600 and you can see that our school failed overall at an 897, which doesn't sound too impressive. Um however, if you kind of compare that to ACT, we usually fall around the 18 mark. 18 is about half of the 36 total. We're falling a little bit above half of the 1600. If you compare us to the the state, the state, I believe, is at a 909. So, we're really not too far off of how the state did on the SAT. And for it being so brand new and not really knowing, I I'm happy. I would I would have loved higher scores, but but I'm happy. Um, now we know and now we can just love next year. So, interventions. Um, just briefly,

there's there's reading. Um really the nutshell is green is getting bigger, red is getting slower. Um this is a comparative easy to read chart of 2 years um in the winter um from 20 2024 to 2025. Math I'm going to let her briefly talk. Um unfortunately we have switched math programs and there's not been cons consistency there. So we can print out nice easy to read pictures like that um that she can give you that they don't have. So, we use Alex, which is a new program to us. I mean, it's it's different. It gives a percentage, enroll them in a course, and it tells we diagnostic test them at the end of the year. It tells us how much they completed of that course. We just are currently diagnostic testing them again trying to

compare at the end of the year. Um, I can talk for my students that I have in class. Um, all of them are growing. We all have grown. I've not had one child that did not grow over the course of the year. Um I'm seeing some students grow 15 to 20% and some students are growing 30%. Um it's it's like they like that like spent the last two days having individual conversations with them about their girls because they don't is a new program. It's not like anything they've ever seen before. you get this score of 48% and you're like well I failed but you started at 16. So we have to look at where we started and where we are and once we have that conversation the smile comes across today on the back sending

an email to our administrative staff about certain kids I go by and see and just say we are so proud of this one. And so it's you know that's that's the win. You know, I look at the KSA scores from a math perspective and a lot of work went into that game. You know, a lot of individual getting kids to buy into that they are math students and they can be successful. And once they realize they can be successful, then then you see the growth. And so it's just to level up and and just know that they're confident. Um these are just some pictures. I'm really not going to speak a whole lot. I just like to see the kids in action and I'm sure you do too. A lot of this is CTE, our

arts. Um I love that bottom corner welding picture cuz that's an instructor helping. And I know it's hard to see, but those those are two females. And with our max labs, we're really seeing that the females are quite gifted in the welding and so maybe they'll start entering that occupation. Uh I did shout out um the the group that was able to go to New York City. They've already shared plenty about that. We do love our collaborative opportunities um with the other schools in the district. That upper picture is one of our students reading to some elementary students. Um, once again, just a lot of collaborative opportunities in our classes to get out of the four walls of the classroom and do different things. The upper right picture is actually a dissection of a sheet

art um that I think the skills class. I don't think that they missed that one, but it's kind of the kids the kids really like to talk about. Of course, we have a wide variety of clubs and extracurriculars. You've heard all about tonight. Um um our productions that Mustang Drama always puts on fall are outstanding. Um our CTSOs which is this the the competitive clubs with our CTE department they go state level and always compete. Our academic team is the upper right corner. Um they had a successful season. They had several members go on to the state level to compete. Um we had the book frenzy. That picture in the middle is called a book tasting I believe. I did not get to attend that. It was basically kind of a setup where you kind

of just got a taste of the book and went around and it was pretty cool from what I understand. Athletics, ought to shout out a few up there in the upper leftist side tutor. Um he advanced to the state tournament and did actually pretty well at the state tournament. He is a junior. I expect really great things from him next year. Um he's pretty remarkable. Um in the middle, Coach Tanner Robart. She is our girls and boys swimming coach. She won KH best coach of the year for boys swim. So that was quite an impressive honor for her. Uh Ben Mitchell, he made history in Mu County is our very first diver. We have never had a diver park to swim to and he also in his very first year one region competed at esports.

We made the final four uh in the fall and we are headed to make the final four this spring. And of course, folks, your squad's here's just some fun pictures of school spirit. We had an underground spirit. We we played a little game called Sunshine in my pocket. They I think had fun with it anyway. They got a little too sometimes, but that's okay. Miss Brook was happy to be one of the five that won. She was very proud of her her gift card that she and just more school spirit. Um the bottom picture is one of our dances homecoming dance. They loved it. Of course, the bottom right picture is Chief Trader. We like to celebrate all of our students. And so, we had um visit everybody where during day back in October and

then we kind of gave a shout out to cerebral poly awareness in March for one of our students fell here. Recently, we've had six students um named to a governor scholar program. So, Ella Bon Landon Newman in that same year. Now, uh they were accepted into the governor's scholar program GSP. Bill and Merrier was accepted into Governor's Governor's School for Entrepreneurs and Caitlyn Gray and Gabe Thomas. Um what were accepted into the Governor's School for the Arts. We also have an author among us at Milberg County High School and back in the fall we did a book signing for him. This is the first of a a series. So more books will be coming from Mr. This is what we're looking forward to coming ahead. Obviously that auxiliary jump is huge for us. Um and

we cannot wait. Um but those are kind of some goals that we have. We always say that at the end of the show or how how we do our rallies and who we see. And I just want to say um thank you for your support. Um being in the first year of this role has had its ups and downs obviously as it does every year but um board members you guys have always been encouraging and supporting this or can't say enough about your support even the fellow principles out audience um you guys amazing work so I just want to say thank YOU I will say I had the opportunity to visit the school more than any of the other schools with my work with the student bank and this mall and her team does a

great job and I always wish I could just take like a busload of people with me every time to see what all the hospital offers cuz we offer some really cool stuff. I don't like Okay. All right. We're down now to our attendance and enrollment report. >> Good afternoon, chairman, board members. 18 attendance and enrollment. Actually has uh ran us on Monday for you all, but the month does not end until Monday. So, it's 15 days out out of the 20day school month. Uh it's been a good month for us as far as attendance and enrollment. Our attendance as a district 94.6% and our enrollment was 4,61. Uh that's our highest attendance percentage since month one. Uh month one was just 3 or 4 days. So really that's our this has been our best month.

Uh this whole week we've been at 95% across the district. So uh that's really good to see. Uh South Elementary was our elementary division leader. That's for the month at 95%. Middle school also at 95%. So, uh, whatever everybody's doing, keep doing and, uh, doing a great job. So, I know they're doing the principles and staff are doing everything they can do to make school fun. Just make it a place that kids want to be and that's all. >> Thank you. Yeah, I thought it was really close there that 94 point South Elementary. I mean, it was very close by. >> Yes. But I thought I mean great job students just get somebody else sign in. >> All right. Now we are down to our board action items and item A is the approval of

our updated BG1. one really hasn't changed much since the initial still cost everything else right Obviously prices right now much at all since the initial reflect the actual price we Heat. Heat. All in favor of BG1, please say I don't approve the BG2 parts and pieces of the system. So it's like really smashing Heat. motion. All in favor of approving the BG2, please say hi to all. I don't see >> essentially right now. $7,000. Please say I hear it is approval of construction. very detail. This is kind of just a ceremonial snapshot. What we have going on hasn't changed since There exist showers to sink water. Heat. Heat. Heat. figure out maintain lobby space. Interior RS4 right now main floor AJ splash tile here and things like that case He's working. Any other parking lot

Radio So building Heat. construction documents. Please say I approise just All in favor, please say I don't to the term of as a utilities agreement between Milber County Board of Education and the Greater Mild Parks and Recreation System. So, this is just an amendment to the original one which was um dated November 12th um 2012. Um kind of talked through some of these things at the um the board work session. Took out the mower part. um added a cap to utilities uh to be the cap of 110,000 annually. Um there's one more thing. Oh, and then we added the um statement about um in exchange that the for these services and utilities that the schools would get first access whenever possible. and then also added the number 10 which was the termination for cause and

without cause. Um and so kind of talked through this with Miss Manning with um the Martin Foundation and then also um Mr. Brown had communicated with the parks director and so they were in agreement making these changes. We appreciate listening our concerns and then we tabled this a couple of months ago for further discussion. So, we did discuss that earlier this month in our work session. Um, and she's going to be part of this communication back and forth with us with Carson R. So, this was kind of the agreement, the changes that we came up with that over the course of all these years that we've had this agreement in place that um it was kind of time to like nail down some changes. So, um you know, moving forward, I think they have futuristic

plans with parks and to expand. Um, and with that being said, with us being responsible for utilities, you know, that would cost us even more money down the road. So, um, you know, we still have to be conscientious of decreased enrollment, different things like that. You know, money coming in that we have, um, and more money going out on different things. We kind of have to put a capital on her. She was very willing to listen to our concerns. Um, and we appreciate that greatly and we love our working relationship with Foundation. um in person. So, um making it a priority for our kids to be able to use their facilities um first and foremost is very important to us. Um and with that being said, I know they also have things that are already

presum their facilities can be used by our students and that's understandable. So we appreciate everybody for working with us. And with that being said, I'm going to make a motion to maintain Sorry. It happens. Yes. Um so the search committee members um we went um kind of by law as to how those are selected. Two teachers elected by teachers. One board member appointed by the chairman. One principal elected by the principles. Parent elected by the presidents of the PTO's. A classified employee elected by the classified employees. And then one minority member if not selected in the other member group. So the committee members um that were identified through this names uh Quinton Owens and Josh Stewart are the teachers. Logan Porter is the board representative. Scott Blake is the principal or the administrator representative. Lindsay

Kasinger is the parent. And Jarrett Moore is the um classified employee. Mr. All in favor members, please say I. All done. And we are now down now to our consent agenda items. This includes our approval of our board meetings fundraising request and request. Are there any questions? All in favor of approving the board items, please say I. All right. Thank you.
