We want to go back over anything or what we covered. Really, all we're doing tonight is reading into the minutes about public meeting. This is the last installment of legis and the recommendations policy. Thank you very much. Hearing that report from Mr. Young. Do I have a motion that we approve the policy revision? >> I got two. So moved. >> Thank you. Did you get those? Great. Do we have any comments from the audience? Any questions or comments from the board? Hearing none. All in favor of those revisions, please say I. Uh any post say no. Okay, we'll get
into the new business section number seven to grant permission for the board members annual training certificate. The official do >> we're just asking for permission. Everybody completed their uh required trainings for the 25 uh 2025 year and we just need permission to enter those into our official minutes. >> Great. So, do we need to vote on that? >> Yes. Okay. So then we do need a um a motion. Sorry, it just got stuck somewhere in there. A motion certificate official. So moved by Linda and a second by Donald. Do we have any comments from the audience? All in favor say I. Any say no. Mr. Yeah. The following policy revision compiance with secondary education. So our policy family engagement being updated compiance there's no stud and Mr. Young while you're there school calendar. >> Yes
sir. So the 2026 27 school calendar has been completed. uh it meets all of the instructional requirements 63,720. Uh this could be adjusted based on emergency closes or the mandates. One thing about this calendar this year will be closed on 113 for election day. Some of our schools serve. [clears throat] I'm going to ask that the board approve this calendar for 2026 2017. [clears throat] >> Great. Okay. So, we have a request that we approve the calendar that we have been provided for the next school year. Do I have any uh I have a motion that we approve that? >> Thank you. Do I have a second over here? >> Thank you, Mr. Matt. Any comments from the from the audience? Any questions or comments from the board? And can I get all in favor
say I. Any opposed say no. >> Thank you very much. Okay, so we're moving quickly through this, but uh reports Dr. Lewis report [clears throat] Thank you. All right, let's move on to the financial report from Miss. >> Okay, you have our December sales tax report. Apologize this is for January and not September. Um 3 million collected for January with 5.4% over January last year. uh total uh we collect approximately 61% of our tax Ed prior to this school year moving on to our financial segments December 31st 204 the general fund we have revenue approximately 41 42% of the budget and expended approximately 44 and a half% % of time and moving on to our special revenue funds. We have collected budget revenues for our grant reimbursement why that's probably a little bit lower than
what we normally have at this time on a monthly basis. Um expenditures will budget. [clears throat] Moving on to our health plan report. This is the final health plan for the health plan year for the calendar year. So you're thankful for contributions of 7.7 million between the school board and participating members programs that are offered health compared to last year 15 million total administrative costs for the plan year to 1.9 million compared to 1.7 million last We have other fixed calls for our advantage plan, compared to 205,000 previous year increases that put upon us. Our total fixed cost of 4.5 million [clears throat] 4.2 2 million last year. Total PL expenses we did is the improvement this year 11.3 million in total pay nets um compared to 12.8 million in 204 like to point out
the drug finates was 7.1 million compared to 4.8 8 million last year in our medical funds that were paid out total 6.8 million 10 million last year. We kind of had a little reverse expenses on those. However, we do have open dates collected from the year of 2.5 million compared to 1.7 million last year in the month of December premates for the third quarter of $564,50 that added to that all of that the plan for the year was 1.8 All right, Mr. Superintendent. >> Okay. Um, so we were back in school today. Um, tough week last week with the weather and all of that, but uh we had anticipated on going back Monday, but after looking at road department, we didn't feel like it was safe to put those buses back on roads yet. So
we were able to bring our faculty and staff back and planning done and we prepared to start uh this this morning. So everybody got school safely this morning and home. So hopefully the rain has washed most all of the snow and ice off of the roads. We'll be good for the rest of the year. I hope. >> Yeah. Or get it off. Um they have to make up snow. >> I don't think so. Right now, we'll look at the minutes as we get a little bit closer. If we need to add some time to the day, we'll do that rather than um just a reminder, our board meeting um will be at March the 3. That won't be at noon. Um we'll probably need to have a finance meeting. So, committee meeting that will start
at 11:30. Uh but I think elementary was getting the new classrooms that's coming along. We'll be able to look at some of that seeing all of that over there. I just didn't feel like coming back yesterday or today was going to be appropriate to be out there. They were trying to get school. I will say our maintenance staff, Mr. Kevin Gibney started with us worked a lot last week on tractors trying to get ice off. I really was our workplace. We did that. is in Calhoun, but he did that without having power and water at his house. So, I do appreciate the effort Peter did. Mr. Payton came in came in and helped us. So, we had several that came in and helped us get ready this morning. Our job fair is April 14th. That'll
be at the STEM center job fair April 14th from 5 to 7. Um, of course, our training will be next Tuesday starting at 8:00 am to 2 out at the STEM center February the 10th. We'll do a little academic update to begin with and John G will be here for training and Mr. McGee and Twitter will be back uh back with us to discuss um some of the language that might want to put for the um election. And then last but not least, um just want to announce tonight that I am retiring at the end of this year, June 30th, 2026. Uh so just giving board and everybody notice of that so that we can start the process of uh someone else taking over. This is my I've completed 35 years to be 36. I
think it's enough for me and time for me to move on and let someone else leave our district. in a great place. Um, right now we have very good people in our district that will continue what been done before I got here while I was here and going forward. So [cough and clears throat] I am will be involved still in the district. I have grandkids coming up through it. So, uh, Parish is important school system for me and, um, I appreciate the opportunity the board gave me to be superintendent and, um, I know I have one more year on my contract, but I think this will be enough for me and I move on. So, with that, all I have, sir. >> Thank you. >> I do have a couple of things I want to
mention. Um, first off, I want to recognize Dr. Danielle Williams. Um she completed in excess of 20 hours this past year and so she has been awarded u the title of being a certified board member um which again is due to her credit hours. So congratulations have this um certainly thank you for that professional award. Um, I also have the sad duty tonight to say thank you to Miss Linda Henderson and her role of serving her district so well over a number of years. We did officially receive her um her resignation from this board uh document. And so this will be her final meeting with us. And I just wanted to tell her how much she's me. She's been a great inspiration, great shoulder to lay on and thank you for the number of years
that you serve this community in this role. Our school system is a better um you [laughter] >> I'd like to add I appreciate her. She was my vice president for eight years while I was the president and she didn't say very much. She was quiet mouth over there, but she was strong and I appreciate that. >> Thank you. Our students and our um [laughter] >> my hat talk to you. May your days be bright on the next board you serve. Maybe they'll have unity. But I appreciate you supporting all these kids in this system and the education they deserve. And I hope we can keep it up. I' like to say thank you. >> Any other comments from the board about anything? I have a motion to present a second. [clears throat] >> Thank you.
