001uh so all right we appreciate everybody coming in for this afternoon or evening session we'll be starting with the boundary discussions and we'll call this meeting to order let the record reflect that all boardroom members are present tracy sawyer sink bell is here via the telephone and everybody is present so appreciate you all being here um let's go ahead and start with you want to just start with rules um yes thank you members of the board and members of cabinet whenever they're this is a and allowing the public to provide comments on the topic of the of the special hearing given the nature of the safety protocols for covid and we do have limited seating but we have received other comments and we will continue to forward those comments to the governing board that you

002will have access to anybody's comments even though they're not here this evening and the night for making the decision there will be an agenda item in december for the board to take action on a recommendation for boundary changes this evening at this special hearing we are presenting recommendations for several boundary changes as some of them are related to middle schools administration will present information a middle school plan and associated boundary changes there are also a few other recommended boundary changes that are not related to middle schools and administration will present information about those as well so with no further ado i will turn the time over to mr jim dean who will present information about the middle school plan good afternoon mr president members of the governing board dr kellis and members of cabinet thank

003you for a few minutes this afternoon to provide brief information related to the middle schools the board has received information in the past related to the middle school framework that was established by the committee the board has received information related to rationale related to the middle school pairings and this evening just as a quick recap the middle school proposals include boundary changes to eight schools that provide pairings of both a pre-k four school and a fifth through eighth grade school each proposed middle school pairing is substantially a feeder to one of the high schools and those pairings include ashton ranch as a middle school paired with countryside cimarron springs as a middle school and by the way i should point out that those schools feed valley vista high school cimarron springs as a middle school

004paired with western peaks elementary school as a primary school those schools feed willow canyon high school dysert elementary school will we are recommending to revert back to a middle school from years and years past and el mirage would become the primary school those schools feed at dysart high school and sonoran high school would become a middle school and the paired primary school would be rancho gabriella sonoran heights is a feeder to shadow ridge high school rancho gabriela is a feeder to dysart high school however there are a large number of students that open and roll from rancho gabriela's neighborhood to shadowridge high school and so those are paired there what the administration is proposing is to combine the boundaries of each of those schools to make one boundary with two schools in them a pre-k-4

005school and a 5-8 school and so those are the middle school proposals the middle school proposed boundaries transportation would be provided to students either that is identified directly or to students who qualify through our distance our distance requirements i will tell you that in some of the schools we will be bussing all students due to a lack of a safe walking route to school so in in the case of sonoran heights and rancho gabriella those schools are separated by rheem's road choya is the connecting street and there is not a crosswalk a light or a safe walking route across those neighborhoods as a result we would be bussing all students from both schools to the opposite school to assure a safe route to school and with the other schools we have transportation plans that are

006continuing to be developed and once again those students in all situations that live within the transportation boundary would be provided transportation so that's just a brief update or a brief reminder to the board related to the middle school proposals and the boundaries that are involved therein i'll now turn it over to kevin shipman who will very quickly go over the other boundary changes that are not related to middle schools thank you mr dean good evening president leonard members of the board dr kell's cabinet and members of the public i'll provide a brief overview of additional boundary changes the first one that we have is a small change there's a square mile that is east of cortesa neighborhood and that's currently in the sonoran heights attendance area boundary and that area we're proposing to move to

007the closest school mountain view elementary school it's mostly horse property and there's just a very small number of students at dysart there the second change is the mountainside or formerly known as sarah anne ranch neighborhood that's on the west side of 175th that area is currently in the western peaks attendance area boundary that has proposed to move to the closest school to the north sunset hills then we also have the area that's further to the west there that's really just a formality out to the white tanks that's also included in that change additionally we have the area that's uh east of 175th in the same area that's being developed currently right now the only students we have is just a handful from heritage farms development but that area is in the sonoran heights boundary and

008is proposed also to move to the closest school to the north which is sunset hills elementary school then we have an area that's currently in the marley park attendance area boundary it's the southeast portion of the sierra verde neighborhood and that area is proposed to move to ashton ranch which then becomes part of the countryside k4 ashton ranch middle school attendance area we also have an area that's just west of el mirage and dysart elementary attendance areas it's just an industrial area it's two square miles currently we don't see any students in there but it's a formality and i guess to avoid any confusion on the attendance area boundaries so that would move to the el mirage and dysart middle school under this proposal and then the last area is sundial four it's an area

009just east of the pueblo el mirage golf course and those students currently attend luke approximately four and a half five miles to the south and the proposed change is to include that area in riverview elementary's attendance area boundary which is approximately a quarter mile or less from the school so those are the other proposed boundary changes thank you so at this time i would like to invite the board to ask any questions of administration regarding either the middle school boundaries or the other non-middle school boundaries i did have one question it was just about the kids who are like in special programs like the cambridge program will they continue to stay where they are that will middle school will not affect those programs um mr president leonard miss tanner a question has come up about

010if a family enrolled into a school that's going to be affected by boundary changes do they lose their current open enrollment status the answer is no so if they are currently for example in seventh grade at rancho gabriella on open enrollment maybe their home school is um canyon ridge but they're open enrolled to rancho gabriella in seventh grade but the new seventh grade is going to be at sonoran heights they still move with the whole body of students of middle school students to sonoran heights so they don't have to reapply but if there are students who um are not comfortable being in a middle school they can open and roll to any of the k schools so if they want to be in the cambridge program as you mentioned at marley park which marley park

011is not been affected by the middle school discussion they could open and roll if there's capacity and as a reminder to the board open enrollment now has three criteria that we also look at in addition to capacity we look at grades attendance and discipline to make sure that the students who are open enrolling criteria if a student for example you brought up cambridge is in that that south east corner of sierra verde right behind fry's which is now going to be reassigned to ashton ranch with the rest of their community they can open and roll to marley to continue to be in the cambridge so in those cases they're not automatically going to stay at marley they need to open and roll to the school it's same with the the families in sundial four that

012will no longer be attending luke elementary if they want to continue to attend luke they would need to open enroll to luke thank you um just uh one comment a question so i i am thankful that we're going to look at busing for especially with rancho and sonoran because i received a lot of concern about children crossing reams so i'm glad that that safety has been put first and we've eliminated that concern and just curious after listening to some of the other boundary uh proposed changes for the one for the areas where you're saying there's like a small amount of students in those particular areas is there a reason why we're not considering just continuing to absorb those students just to prevent the disruption to those students and families if it's a small number anyway

013just wanted to know a little bit about the thought behind why we'd want to move forward with that if we're just talking about a few thank you president leonard miss pritchard right now because the numbers are small it's a lot easier to make a boundary change when they're very less than five families impacted rather than after it's all built out if you take the example of the industrial areas that are east that are west of dysert elementary that's where our bus yard is that's where there's a lumber yard but there's one house there you may remember a former war member used to live there so because there's that one house there we want to make sure that it's connected to the school closest to that neighborhood in the case over by heritage farms near the

014mountain view or sunset hills area again very few families there and if they want to continue attending the school that they're currently attending they can open and roll but eventually those neighborhoods are going to be that land is going to be built out and we want to be prepared so that they're going to the school closest to their house um i see i didn't really so there's a lot of room for expansion in those areas there's going to be a lot okay and there's going to be well in the past there are a lot of boundary changes made and we created islands so that there's a for example mountainside they actually went past sunset hills to get to western peaks with this change they will go to the school closest to their neighborhood which is

015sunset hills and so that was one of the big motivators for those other changes is to bring them closer together and also to anticipate growth and be ready for capacity where those unbuilt neighborhoods eventually will be built out that part makes sense um do you think you'd consider though i think i've asked this in previous changes when we've changed schools that if we have students who are going to be entering the eighth grade next year would they be given priorities so they wouldn't have to be disrupted and not complete their their schooling in their same school for their eighth grade promotion for the non-um middle school boundary changes yes that is absolutely the the priority okay um for the middle school changes there won't be any eighth grade right at a school if that's the

016school that's being impacted but yes okay thank you um the only question i had was around their transportation so how how would that i mean there's going to be a lot of changes with transportation obviously so how are we going to manage that how how are we looking at that capacity uh president leonard miss dennis barney let mr hicks respond to the transportation question mr president members of the board uh great question and so uh kevin shipman works with our transportation looking at all the data and projections and where they are and starts working with our routers and start building it out so we're already building this out to see how and where it is it does have an impact it will require probably about 10 new routes in total for this because there's some

017commitments that we're making going across reams and others that we need to honor and create safe routes so if we don't have safe routes we are so it does have a impact that will increase our transportation okay ms densmar just add that we don't have all the routes finalized um we don't have the regular routes finalized for next year those are things that happen during the spring and summer but as soon as that information is available it will be posted for all schools and all routes okay so when you see mr president if i could just reiterate that we actually don't get them done until almost the end of summer so we put projections in just to give us an estimated uh guide of where we're going but because of we like to be the

018most accurate with where our bus stops are and everything those that's not actually finished until july the end of july so just to highlight dr kelly's point that um they're not finalized until july and i imagine you know if we'd moved to a middle school model we would have three different start times is that ms densmore that's correct um there would be the same start times but different schools would be assigned to those different start times so mr dean can share the start times for the middle and the primary schools and then as far as the other schools that are not affected by the middle school primary school question that question has been asked are they going to change times well every year that's a question and as much as it's a hard thing to

019say that transportation drives the decisions in the district no pun intended with that but the intent is that we are most efficient um we can't add a bunch of of additional routes it would be great if everybody start at the same time we just don't have enough bus drivers to cover every single route so they go out they do one one um segment then they go out again and do another that's just because primarily the number of buses and bus drivers that we have that mandate those three different start times mr president ms densmore um we'll continue to start our high schools at the same time um there's no proposal to change those um the middle schools will start at 8 15 they'll be on the on the what we call our second tier of

020transportation but the first tier of our of schools that are kindergarten through eighth grade and the primary schools that are paired with those middle schools will start at nine o'clock in the morning part of the rationale involved there is that some of the older students are responsible for their younger students after school you know for after school supervision what have you and by starting at 8 15 with the middle schools we're able to return them back to their homes prior to the the primary schools um dismissing and therefore they're still able to provide that supervision for the younger students and in some cases if need be they'd even have time to walk to the school to pick their their siblings up if that need to be as well so but that was the intent of

021the the earlier start for the middle schools than the primary schools okay so so with those time changes potentially we might also have more need for you know before after school care is that being looked at as well trying to project what that might look like mr president miss densmore we would be running den club in all of our schools as we do now we would continue to run that our den club for our primary schools our pre-k through four schools would look very similar to our den club programs now um in fifth or eighth grade we would be looking to or for the middle schools we would be looking to reimagine a bit of what the structure of that den club looks like we would still provide it for parents but it would look

022more it would be geared more towards fifth or eighth grade students than our current program which is geared towards k-6 students so we would be providing that opportunity up through eighth grade um but the structure of what that looks like during that time would be just a little bit different than it is for our for our other den club sites additionally we plan to have multiple opportunities for our middle school students to participate in um in many activities after school um and so um you know through a combination of that and the den club program that would be really modeled after um more of a parks and recreation type program with with study hall components built in um we would have still have opportunity for parents to utilize those services at the middle schools as

023well thank you very much [Music] any other questions all right we can go ahead and open it up to the general public we just want to give you a reminder that because we want to give everybody here an opportunity to discuss we are going to limit the conversations to three minutes um so we'll go ahead and open that that's and it's yeah we we want to keep everything just specific to this actual hearing so that's what we'll be focused on and we'll go ahead and open that up if you want to approach the dice and just state your name for the record we'll open that up i'm going to reference my phone so i can stick with three minutes hopefully that's okay with you guys but good evening um my name is shannon standert my

024family and i have lived in this district and are huge supporters of public education um both of my kids my son and my daughter attend sonoran heights and they open and roll to sonoran heights and they've both gone there since kindergarten we consider sonoran heights our school family mr mcfrazer miss mcknight the teachers and staff there are amazing and they're our home school we also vote for public education we've voted for both overrides and dysart both times they've passed we voted for prop 208 we're a public school family to say that our family is disappointed and how the district is handling this change is an understatement you stated dr kellows last night that you've sought parent input you held one meeting on facebook live in april of this year right in the middle of crisis

025schooling right in the middle of this pandemic to say that you got our attention and knew that we this was something that we knew would impact our families is not an accurate statement um you had a meeting last night you opened it up for q a for one hour you guys could have held focus groups at our schools to ask how this is going to impact us but instead we're here tonight do you realize that most staff and families that i know in just the past few weeks are realizing the impact that this is going to have to them many of us chose to send our kids to a k-8 so that they could go to school together siblings who walk each other to class my 12-year-old son takes his little sister to and from

026class every day in this change that won't happen anymore do you know that most people buy their homes in these neighborhoods so that they can send their kids to a neighborhood school for our k-8 they've invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in their homes to be able to go to these schools last night you stated that parents would have a choice i'm not sure what you mean by choice in this regard you're you're forcing this on us if by choice you mean that i have to move both of my kids to a different k through eight where they'll know no one they won't have any friends so that they can still be together and have a same start time which would be feasible then for our two working parent family to get them to and

027from school that's not a choice you're using the idea of school choice in a situation that you're forcing on us if you really wanted to offer school choice you would do what you did with freedom traditional school and you would find a way to offer this option so parents could often to say that my kids are devastated as an understatement my daughter's been in tears all week in a year where uncertainty is at the highest level that any of us have ever experienced so i thank you for your time and i'd urge you to reconsider waiting to do this either in the 2022 school year or in a different way or at least pause and get parent input for a real perspective thank you for your time thank you for the wrecker my name is

028erica and i cannot agree more than with her than anything else i was going to say a lot of things that she mentioned also i have my two kids growing up kids already i have only one daughter at elementary school right now she is nine years old and she's in third grader i don't see this one going to a school with older childs are especially nowadays that things are more freedom and marijuana use i am against that and like she said i have no choice over here i see that you guys already fixed that this is gonna happen and no one in my school knew about this before because for some reason i missed a meeting in april i was in the meeting last night on facebook too and i feel that really we don't

029have no choice in this and not say as a parent and i feel that we should get the swing ball more with meetings at the school side but i don't know that's my opinion and i cannot agree more that i have with this lady okay thank you so much for all your time thank you hello my name is kristen bernsmith and i live in the sierra verde neighborhood i wish i could afford to live in the marley park neighborhood but that's just not my reality and i understand that's not your guys's problem but the reason i did buy my house in the sierra verde neighborhood was to send my child to marley park it's one of the best schools out here in this neighborhood and we really love that school so i just wanted to

030to speak for my son and for my neighborhood please don't please don't let us change we love marley park and we just want to stay there so thank you thank you my name is alexandra ewit i am also from the sonoran community and it is devastating it's really hard to face dividing the community but we have amazing parents you guys are amazing you're so great out there and you do so many great things and this is a change that i think will be great for our kids it's a different kind of vision for middle school i know everybody is really concerned about putting fifth and eighth grade together right but it's an opportunity for that middle school to kind of forge bonds over four years right i remember middle school it was miserable you know

031it's two years of awkward hormones and you're all together and it's really stressful and it's just kind of a passing time you're going to get to high school and you're just oh i'm so glad i'm out of middle school right so i'm really excited that dysert has taken on this new kind of model or idea for us and i know i hear a saying that we don't have a choice but we do have the ability to bring the community together right and the ability to work with the other schools to make sure that our kids still have an opportunity to have a memorable experience at each sites right so we're strong parents we can come together we can join our ptas we can look for other ways to support this change that in the long

032run is going to be better for our kids so i love snoring i think it's amazing it is so great i don't want to leave it but i want to support our kids and i want to make i want to make sure that we as parents don't lose sight that we don't have options or choices in that but we do have the ability to support make things better thank you hi my name is melissa howard i am opposed to changing sonoran heights elementary school into a middle school and combining sonoran heights and rancho gabriela school boundaries this change would impact our children's stability and security impact their academic progress require children to either be driven or bus to a completely new neighborhood rather than simply walk increasing school traffic for both schools and negatively impact

033our property values first if the district changes sonoran heights into a middle school my children will be uprooted from sonoran heights where they have gone to school since preschool we love that both of our children would attend this school from preschool all the way up to eighth grade giving them a stable and secure foundation and it was the primary reason we bought our home if sonoran heights is made into a middle school both of my children would need to adjust to a brand new school rancho gabriella then the following year after that my daughter would switch schools yet again back to sonoran heights leaving my son alone at rancho gabriella until he reaches fifth grade at which time he would transfer schools again back to sonoran heights a peer-reviewed article printed in the journal of

034early adolescence in 2019 evaluated the academic and psychosocial outcomes for students that attend a k through 8th grade school compared to a middle school and found that students who attend middle school experienced declines in academic competence and academic motivation additionally the studies found that compared with elementary schools middle schools often have more students per grade more competition more behavioral disruption and drops in self-esteem let me drive this point home through all my research one common thread is that transferring schools correlates with increased student instability and stress reduced academic progress and a decrease in psychosocial development with multiple school transfers leading to worse effects secondly if the district changes sonoran heights into a middle school this will increase the time it takes away from work for us to commute our children to school we live across

035the street from sonoran heights and walk to and from school every day if this change is approved our children will need to be bused or driven to school furthermore when my daughter is back at sonoran heights and my son at rancho gabriella their start times will be different and we will lose even more time getting our children to where they need to be additionally this will increase school traffic for both sonoran heights and rancho gabriello which will pose a hazard for both schools and neighborhoods finally my family and i bought the house we live in largely due to having such a lovely elementary school close by that our children could attend from preschool all the way up to 8th grade this was a huge attraction for us having a pre-k to 8th grade school gives

036families a sense of security and stability having the ability to walk to school is very appealing it's good for the environment physical health etc i foresee this change having a negative impact in our neighborhood appeal and therefore property values in closing please do not change sonoran heights into a middle school my children love going to sonoran heights elementary school and do not want to have to switch schools please vote no on the proposed middle schools and boundary changes thank you have anybody else all right we appreciate your comments and i will definitely take those to heart appreciate everybody that came out at this time we'll go ahead and call for a recess and we'll be in recess until our regularly scheduled meeting starts in 30 minutes we appreciate your attendance [Music] all right we're going

037to go ahead and call the meeting to order thanks for everybody to come out please let the record reflect that we have all board members present except for ms sawyer sink bell and she is available via the phone we're going to go ahead and start with the pledge of allegiance i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all all right we'll go ahead and move on to agenda form c1 i'll make a motion to approve the agenda form consent with the governing board policy the temporarily suspend any policy with which the agenda may be inconsistent second a motion made by jay leonard seconded by jen tenner we'll go ahead and vote motion passes

038thank you all right we're going to go ahead and move down to d1 american heart association workplace health achievement dr kellis thank you president leonard members of the board and members of cabinet this evening ken hicks will present this item good evening mr president members of the board superintendent dr kellis colleagues and community members thank you for allowing me to present on this achievement first let me thank the american heart association and miss janice peel our benefits and wellness manager to and to our staff for their willingness to engage in our wellness program the american heart association has defined best practices for employers to use to build a culture of health for their employees in the workplace the american heart association's workplace health achievement index measures the extent to which a company has implemented those

039workplace health best practices companies recognize that the gold level have achieved an index score between 175 and 217 out of a maximum of 217 points and i'm proud to say very proud to save our continued success two years ago we were bronze we moved up last year to gold and this year we maintained our gold status so thank you very much to our wellness team and to all of our employees for their active engagement and for our healthy and productive workplace that we're creating so um here is no no photo opportunities but here is the achievement and thank you for everybody's efforts awesome thank you so much i'm sure we can photoshop something together and you without slides i'm impressed all right we're going to go ahead and move on we're going to go to

040e1 audience with individuals miss densmore this is the time for the public to comment members of the board may not discuss items that are not specifically identified on the agenda pursuant to ars 38431 action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter responding to any criticism or scheduling the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date in order to facilitate accomplishing the business of the district in a timely manner a limit of three minutes will be imposed for each individual or group addressing the board when you approach the podium please state your name for the record and the first one we have is mr juan ceja good evening president leonard members of the governing board um congratulations on the award and congratulations on the

041continuation of the override by the way can your nameplates flip today i felt an obligation to address you this evening because i'm worried for the well-being of my two sons who attend our schools i'm worried for the dysart staff members and i'm worried for our community on november 5th 2020 the maricopa county department of health listed the dysart unified school district as being at the highest level of risk with regards to cover 19 spread for the very first time i contacted superintendent's office to find out what the district was going to do in response to this news to protect our students staff and our community members the response i received stated that the district looks at multiple data points to make decisions on the learning models for students on november 2nd 2020 the maricopa county

042department of health reported dysart at the highest level of risk yet again with regard to cover 19 spread and recommends the district begin to plan for online learning model to my dismay the first us parents heard from our superintendent was this morning after i requested to address the board and made a records request associated with this administration's response to the rising cases spread and deaths associated with covet 19 by the way in our nation we just surpassed a quarter of a million deaths today this novel coronavirus is spreading in our country our state and now in our community and it spreading at an exponential rate recent reports of educators succumbing to this disease must not be ignored the loss of a beloved teacher and football coach in the district that i serve as a professional

043brought to life very clearly to me the risk associated with covet 19. superintendent kelly's former district madison elementary school district recently lost three staff members to cover 19 before returning to an online learning model if you're not adhering to the recommendations by the maricopa county department of health then please share with us parents the metrics you are using to make decisions on the learning models for our children what are the thresholds you need to reach to take additional precautions to protect our students staff and community members and move to an online learning model how many cases or deaths need to happen in our district before you can take action are you waiting for us to lose a student support staff member a teacher a school administrator a district administrator a board member if so i

044wonder how many dysart family members you're willing to lose before taking action if you're not being valued by the health professionals or the well-being of our community then hopefully you can consider the financial impacts of failing to take action i recognize that our state provides financial incentives for schools to remain open for in-person learning but please check with ken hicks and ask what protections dysart has against the wonder a wrongful death lawsuit you will have you will find that you have little protections and that a single lawsuit of this magnitude can cost the district millions of dollars i hate to interrupt you but you are over on time thank you i appreciate the time today thank you very much thank you okay thank you we're gonna go ahead and move on i'm gonna skip the

045student all right so we do not have a student update so we'll go ahead and move down to superintendent update and we'll turn the time over to dr kellis thank you president leonard members of the board and members of cabinet this evening i would like to extend congratulations to ms pritchard mrs grant and mrs chafin who are newly elected board members for the dicer school district thank you for your service previous and up and coming looking forward to working with all of you um as we look ahead into our thanksgiving time i don't know if we can say it's thanksgiving day because we should be giving thanks all the time but it certainly is a reminder of things that we are thankful for and i want to share publicly i am thankful for the things

046that are most important in my life being my family my peers and my relationships with those that i work with with um my my beliefs and with with others that are influential in my life i am thankful for the dicer school district and for every single person who takes extraordinary efforts to do their jobs particularly in this difficult time this evening i want to extend special thanks to one group and that is to our health professionals in each of the school sites they've been tasked with enormous work to do they are doing a great job of screening students of whenever there's a possible direct connect of doing the contact tracing they do that in addition to all the other things with medications and emergencies that happen so i am thankful for health professionals within the

047district as well as the many health professionals throughout our community and throughout the country i know that nobody knows better than they the enormity of the pandemic and they experience it every single day and i'm thankful for them for keeping us all healthy and well and that's all i have to report thank you dr kels appreciate it we'll go ahead and move on to f3 governing board updates i'll start definitely congratulations to ms prichard and joe grant and miss schafen on a race well run and we're excited to have you as part of the dysart family and continue your legacy i'm excited for you to to get to continue that and i look forward to when you get to hand your your daughter her certificate that'll be amazing so definitely praying for that day to

048actually happen because it's an amazing experience and i know you've gotten to do that before so i'm excited for you as well as your continued service um i'm excited for um what what the rest of the time brings although my time is short with only one more meeting and one more diet coke i appreciate having the opportunity to serve for the last four years and love what dice heart has offered and look forward to what the next opportunity is for myself go ahead and hand it over to the best the rest of the board i just want to say thank you for all those who worked um tireless many hours on behalf of um getting this override passed and it was so i was so excited watching election results come in on on dysart's behalf

049and um i'm just so grateful for all the hard work that goes into that because i know it's always a challenge every time we we attempt and know that many hours of work go into that and so just so grateful for all those who are an advocate of public education and and those who support the override also congratulations to those who won board seats um grateful for a great leadership that will continue on in dysart and also want to say thank you to those who even ran and campaigned because from even the moment of filing paperwork and gaining signatures it is not an easy process and for those who have a desire to even want to be able to serve this district i'm so grateful for those who who put their name in the hat

050and that i'm grateful that we have choices for the board so i'm grateful for them so thank you so much just thank you all for dr kellis and my fellow board members for the kind words of congratulations i appreciate it and just also wanted to thank you for to the dysart community for your continued confidence and support of me i can't even tell you how blessed i feel to have people that i didn't even know prior to this election come forward and and have that faith and confidence in me and uh i just i'm appreciative beyond words and um i'm very thankful to be in a position to be able to advocate for positive change in our district it's it's what i love and i'll continue to do so and do my best work for

051dysart also wanted to just ask everyone to have a beautiful peaceful but very safe thanksgiving with the family gatherings and with covid the way that it is i mean family is important but just please do so in a very safe way as we've heard i mean it's just um you know it's concerning that our numbers are rising and i just hope everybody has a very blessed peaceful and safe thanksgiving thank you just want to echo everyone else's comments already um congratulations mrs grant mrs pritchard and to mrs chaffin as well and you know and thank you to everyone who had any interest in running whether you officially ran whether you thought about running and and didn't quite um fully decide to do it but you know it's um it's definitely a challenge it's a journey

052and it's very much appreciated so thank you tracy do you have anything to add right um i had the opportunity to share [Music] 8th grade cambridge class at marley and they were looking to ask board members what what we liked about our role as a board member and um what type of things we did as a board member and these kiddos were pretty sharp and the questions that they had for me and it was just an awesome day so i thank miss k smith for the invitation and the kids just did an awesome job at marley bay congrats to dr kellis i believe he was voted in as a.s aspra superintendent of the year so congratulations dr kellis i know you will of course represent dysart well and continue to do so congratulations to ms

053pritchard for retaining her seat on the board still looking forward to working with you and also welcoming joe grant and crystal chafin looking forward to working with them as well congratulations i started on the override i am really excited um the community and the support we have done a lot of work and i know we will continue to do the right work and that just automatically leads into being thankful for the little things that we sometimes take for granted such as the chillers that are up on um on top of the roofs or the or the buildings and the roofs and um just so many different things that uh we all need to be thankful for so i am hoping that everyone in the district and the community has a great thanksgiving holiday and um

054if you don't know what to do with those turkey wings you can send them to my address and that's it thank you thank you tour everybody we'll go ahead and move on to um item g1 motion approve the consent agenda item and i'll make a motion to approve the uh agenda items as presented second motion made by jay leonard seconded by don densmore christine pritchard oh sorry chrissy pritchard i saw her move those darn masks oh the suspense and that motion passes thank you that's a long list all right we'll go ahead and move on to uh i1 information item uh policy governance board monitoring adopted policy section six facilities development dr kellis thank you president leonard members of the board and members of cabinet this evening as we continue our regular policy governance monitoring

055we took a closer look at section six and uh would like to make some recommended changes to that policy and mr john crotto will introduce this item thank you dr kellis president leonard members of the board superintendent kellison cabinet tonight as dr kellis has said we are bringing to you section six we do have a change we are requesting for 6.2 naming of facilities the current policy restricts the naming to an individual that is deceased and obviously we as dr keller said have expanded that a little bit so tonight we bring to you um a policy where we're expanding the options to name name the naming rights in recognition still of an individual living or deceased and also um [Music] the option for naming it in consideration when we talk about consideration that's monetary value

056so expands it for those two pieces in the policy as you can see the added part that we brought to you for awarding naming rights and recognition advisory committees shall weigh the contribution or achievement in terms of significance and importance for awarding naming rights and consideration the advisory committee shall evaluate the final financial value of the naming rights based on a review of market for the naming rights um we have taken out the part obviously for doing consideration and naming rights the part that the individual has to be deceased we also have uh added in the green on the bottom as you can see that the person company group product name must have and maintain an exemplary record in positive public image at all times and the important piece is that the governing board reserves

057the right to revoke the name grant should they discover a person or entity is convicted of a crime or otherwise falls into disgrace or dishonor that they would dishonor the school district the it asked ads that the administration works with this committee which we've always had and that the governing board has the final authority to approve or reject any naming proposals or naming rights so that is the um topic that we've to bring into you for a little expansion of our naming rights policy 6.2 and mr president if i could just uh add a couple comments to that currently we don't have any major sponsors who are in the wings waiting to rename one of our football fields or one of our our theaters what this does is it opens the pathway so that if

058delta airlines wanted to co-sponsor one of our facilities that in consideration is the correct term there that mr um credo used we would be able to bring that recommendation for naming to the board for approval and it would allow for that naming rights in consideration as far as in recognition we completely absolutely want to respect the dicer name and the dicer facilities but recognize that there are some individuals that may at some point be worth and worthy of having their name associated with one of our facilities so for these reasons we are making this recommendation this is for first read only first read and we'll be uh bringing it back but i'm happy to answer any questions for the board well i appreciate that dr kellis thank you so much um yeah when i was

059reading this over and saw it on the agenda i was excited um i have a brother that lives in texas and there's nothing in texas that has loved more i think it's even more than their first religion is their football stadiums and it's uh it's amazing to see the sponsorship and the the camaraderie that is brought through um the different namings and things like that i look forward to the the day that dysart is is in the situation where um we have so many uh different members of our community and and sponsors that are looking forward to putting their name on something that is as valuable as the dysart resources and i also think that you know with the recent override um this is something that that we've needed to do is we need to

060look for the alternative sources of revenue and i i applaud you for looking at uh this is an opportunity um to not only honor people of the past but possibly people that we want to honor in the future as well as to create some of those partnerships that's something that i've respected about you and really wanted to say thank you for your willingness to to look outside of the the box and and for your staff as well in creating these opportunities to bring in additional revenue that will help dysart get to where we want it to be i think it's vital to to get those partnerships and to bring in that pride that pride of ownership and putting your name on you know a school or one of our venues i think will be advantageous

061as we move forward and we we build our brand so i appreciate you doing that do we have anything else from the board all right we'll go ahead and go ahead real quick this is tracy um thank you for putting in the area about the board reserving the right to revoke the name grant because discovering the person or the entity convicted of a crime and the rest of that i appreciate that line i don't want to look ahead but it something bad may come about and so just to have that little caveat in there i am appreciative of this particular policy thank you all right we'll go ahead and move on to information item i2 update on athletics and arts programs dr kellis thank you president leonard members of the board and members of cabinet

062each month administration brings to the board regular updates about the operations of the district and including academics arts and athletics our three a's this evening jim dean will present this item good evening mr president members of the governing board dr kelson members of cabinet it's my pleasure this evening to present information on two of the three um a's that we have and that is athletics and arts so this presentation will include information from both me and our director of arts danae marinelli and we're going to start with athletics just a quick update on the high school fall sports season which is rapidly coming to a close as a matter of fact um the only sports that uh dysart currently has still operating is football and football is in its last week this week and then

063the playoffs begin so we'll just very quickly go through each of the fall sports seasons and provide a brief update in relation to golf this year valley vista's girls golf team was the sectional champions and we had a total of five athletes that qualified for the state championship golf match which is absolutely fantastic in compared comparison to the past and i will tell you that valley vista girls golf team has a couple of freshmen that i'm not sure i want to play golf against they're pretty doggone good as well as willow canyons female golfers outstanding as well in badminton we had a unified badminton state champion and that was a doubles team and we look forward to bringing them to the board meeting on december the 9th for recognition we just found out that information

064we're very excited about that from swim and dive perspective we had 25 athletes that qualified for the state championship meet in swim and dive willow canyons high school's girls swim team finished 12th overall in state their highest finish ever and they qualified a girl in every event at the state meet for the first time in school history in cross country we had many many individual athletes qualify for the state championship meet and three of our teams qualified as teams which is very difficult to do for the state championship meet those teams were shadow ridge's boys and girls team i'm sorry four teams and willow canyon high school's boys and girls teams qualified for state shadow ridge high school girls cross country team finished 11th overall at the state meet with the fastest team in school

065history and shadow ridge high school's boys team finished eighth overall at the state meet again with the fastest team in school history in volleyball both willow canyon high school and shadow ridge high school made it to the round of 24 playoffs unfortunately suffering losses in each valley vista high school one in the round of 24 and lost in the round of 16 in the playoffs so we're very excited about the their progress there and in football as i stated we still have this is the last week of regular season competition but to this point already we have the best combined records of all of our high schools together in many years with our football programs dysert high school has made the 3a football playoffs for the first time in many many years shadow ridge high

066school is awaiting playoff news if in the 6a and the 5a this year the playoff teams were were reduced from 16 teams to eight teams due to covid if this was a regular year where there were 16 teams in the playoffs shadow ridge would be firmly in the playoffs they're right on the cusp of the eight right now and so we're waiting to awaiting their game this week and to see where they fly uh where they fall and i would also indicate that willow canyon high school also would have qualified for the playoffs had we had the normal 16 team bracket so we're very excited about the fall athletic season and the progress and and success of our athletes we look forward to our winter sports season beginning in the next few weeks and the

067success that that will bring as well and now we'll turn it over to look at the arts and deny marinelli miss marinelli turn on your microphone you think you know microphones president leonard governing board members dr kelson cabinet thank you for allowing me to update you on the extraordinary happenings in the arts and dice are this evening despite being in the middle of a pandemic dice art teachers and students in the arts disciplines are still growing in their artistry performances and shows may look a bit different precautions and procedures have been put into place to help students staff and audiences remain safe but is in these times that we're reminded of the important role that the arts play in our students lives giving them a positive outlook to express themselves with that being said here's

068a brief update on where the arts are currently at beginning with the arizona state seal of arts proficiency we received approval in august to administer the seal and we currently have 70 students that have completed the first steps of the application process this means that they have met the gpa and course credit criteria as well have submitted their capstone project proposals in addition six of these students are eligible to double seal meaning that they have eight credit hours instead of four in two different arts disciplines and we'll be completing the process twice we actually have a few more but those are six right now that we know for sure this year we have students participating from all four of our high schools and also including our high school students students will be notified on may

0691st as to whether or not they have earned their seal our performance season is about to begin there are too many to list this evening so i'm going to just focus on our district performances and festivals the festival of arts will be held on march 27 2021 on the valley vista campus from 10 a.m to 2 p.m we'll be making adjustments to the festival to align with cdc guidelines as well as the arizona department of health and safety protocols i'm also excited to share a few new performance opportunities that our students are going to have this year in addition to our typical district honor choir festival and honor band festival where students from around the district are able to audition and participate we're going to be adding a district high school theater performance so students

070from all four high schools will have the opportunity to audition for a role in the musical it was selected to be guys and dolls this year under the direction of mr steve walgren the final performance will take place the first week of march and if you miss it there you'll have an opportunity to see some scenes at the festival but we look forward to making this a new dice art tradition due to the pandemic all state and regional music competitions have either been cancelled or moved to virtual forums um in order to give our students a real life experience we're going to be holding our own district solo and ensemble festival that will give the kids an opportunity to perform live as well as be adjudicated live which is a much different experience than the

071virtual experience so what are we doing to grow the arts the arts department has been working closely with kathy hill and federal projects to utilize title 4a funding to support professional growth for the arts staff as well as fund supplemental classroom materials over the last two years we have been able to increase our band and orchestra inventory by 500 instruments across all 24 of our schools we began an arts peer mentor program which pairs first through third year arts teachers with arts mentors these mentors focus on arts curriculum classroom management building and retention of our programs and assisting with the performance process the goal of this program is to support and retain our new teachers lastly we're continuing to work to build our community partnerships with both the city of surprise and el mirage as

072well as the local arts programs throughout the west valley thank you very much for your time this evening as you can tell the athletics and the arts are alive and well um and thriving in our school district we look forward to continued success not only throughout the rest of this year but to additional years as well i just want to say thank you to the governing board for recognizing and assisting in the vision of academics athletics and the arts and just the great work that's being done in all three areas um we're absolutely appreciative of the opportunity to serve our students in these in these areas and provide them extraordinary opportunities in in and out of school excellent thank you as a as a former parent of somebody who is on the swim team and

073a few athletics i definitely appreciate that and i applaud you for the the work that you've done with the arts i love to see the progress and the growth there so thank you for that and for your time and dedication in that and i'm also impressed that you had more slides than mr hicks tonight just pointing that out ken giving you a little kudos all right let's go ahead and move on sorry go ahead um i just want to thank um the district for being accommodating to our students with the athletics and arts specifically you know lots of schools have cancelled their athletics or eliminated spectators from being present and dysert has found a way to make that work for our families and our students and our athletes so i really appreciate that with limiting

074numbers of people coming out to our outdoor activities as opposed to just eliminating spectators in general and i'm starting to see that a little bit with the arts only because things are just kind of starting to get going right now but from what i'm hearing um the same type thing rather than just canceling concerts we're limiting spectators and guests and so any time i guess i would just ask that we continue to do that and be mindful of our students and i mean they've lost so much already i would much rather we continue to be flexible and innovative in finding ways to continue to make these things work just maybe in a modified way as opposed to canceling altogether and like i said i've seen bits and pieces of that happening and i just appreciate

075all the work that everyone has done to make that happen for our students and family so thank you and i would add mr leonard and miss miss pritchard thank you we worked really hard to make sure that we continue to provide opportunities for our students we've been able to get to through the fall athletic season um we're as as miss marinelli stated we're just ramping up performance season for the arts and we have our winter season upcoming athletically with basketball soccer wrestling and our spirit line programs competing as well and so we continue to look for opportunities for our students to be able to find some normalcy in things that they do and to accommodate for parents as well thank you else one other thing one other thing i'll give just before you start tracy

076i just want to give a shout out to mr yoder and the dsb live crew as well uh putting putting our uh events online has been an amazing accomplishment in the dedication and the time that they put in this being their first year i just have a lot of respect for that program and what they've done that's a awesome accomplishment go ahead tracy um no i just wanted to echo what miss uh pritchard had said um and you know these these kiddos work really hard um in doing what they do so um with athletics and arts um it's a lot of determination and a lot of inspiration and everything that they do um but just one quick thing that miss marinelli said um excited about the opportunity to have solo and ensemble here at district

077wide um that you know for those kiddos that are into um music and everything that is that is something very very special to them and um so i'm i'm glad that we are looking at that avenue of doing it so thank you very much for all you've done oh i thought of an extra thing i'm sorry go ahead um just because i'm not aware that it's happening at any other high school and i just want to give a shout out to interim principal shelly assai at valley vista they have created a a section in their stands for guests who are vulnerable populations older population or health health risks issues that don't that would otherwise maybe not be able to come and support their athlete or their student because of being around too many people and

078so they actually took the time to go out of the way and set up a special area there's kind of off the side they've they've you know distanced out some some seating and again i know for a fact that there are some community members that otherwise had not come to watch the students and support students because of their health concerns and because of that it's possible so again just another innovative way that we're meeting the needs of our students and community members so i just want to thank her and the valley vista team for making that happen awesome thank you all right we'll go ahead and move on to action discussion item j1 the recommendation to approve the interim certificated employee contract language and benefits package for the 2020 2021 and 20 sorry 2020 2021

079and 21 22 school years dr kellis thank you president leonard members of the board and members of cabinet for the next five items mr croto will present the information thank you dr kellis president leonard members of the board superintendent kelly's cabinet and guests as dr kelly said the next five items are yearly items that come to you around this time and it is to prove the contract language um for contracts the interim contracts that we will use starting in january as well as all of our contracts for the 2021-22 school year i'm gonna kind of outline the changes in all the contracts ahead of time and won't go through each piece there are no major changes uh as you look through it you will see date changes and a couple attorney ease language with mays

080and shalls the major part or the portion that was added to all of the contracts i bring to unite is the language in the contract if the district assigns teacher or whatever contract it is in this case i'm reading the teacher contract if the district assigns teacher to work from home teacher is subject to all contractual terms and conditions and or work assignment expectations and applicable governing board policies while working at home and agrees to adhere to all directives of the district regarding such assignment that was added to all the contracts per our attorney all the language i bring to you tonight is developed in concert with jennifer mclennan from gus and rosenfeld our our district attorney and has been approved um to bring to the governing board tonight so with that said the first

081one i bring to you number one is administration we recommend the approval of contract language for interim certificate employees for the and 2020 122 school years interim contracts are issued for those employees hired or certificated employees hired after the 92nd day in the school year so we're asking you to approve this language and i'll stand for any questions thank you i have any discussion okay i'll go ahead and make a motion to approve the interim certificated employee contract language and benefit package for the 2020 2021 2021 2022 school years second second motion made by jay leonard seconded by jen tanner we'll go ahead and vote motion passes thank you we're going to move on to action discussion item j2 recommendation to approve the certificated and licensed employee contract lineage and benefit packages for the 2021

0822022 school year dr kellis president thank you president leonard members of the board members of cabinet i would defer to the president to just go ahead and make a motion for each of these items through number five okay i'll go ahead and make a motion to approve their certificated and licensed employee contract language for benefit package for the 2021-2022 school year second second motion made by jen leonard seconded by christine christie pritchard let's go ahead and vote motion passes thank you go ahead and move on to action item j3 recommendation for renewal of eligible certificated and licensed staff and authorization to issue employment contracts for the 2021-2022 school year i'll make a motion to approve the eligible the eligible certificated and licensed staff for re-employment and authorize the issuance of employment contracts for the 2021-2022

083school year okay motion made by jay leonard seconded by tracy shorter sink belt let's go ahead and vote motion passes thank you we'll go ahead and move on to action dive and discussion uh j4 the recommendation to approve administrative employee compensation and benefit contract language for the 2021-2022 school year i'll go ahead and motion to approve the administrative employee compensation and benefits contract language for the 2021-2022 school year a second but i have a question about that really quick um i remember the last time we kind of changed the wording a bit just to make sure we were accommodating our administrators that were grandfathered in because of the as far as the insurance benefit piece did these contracts continue to address that mr president madam pritchard i will defer to mr credo on that question

084thank you dr kellis president leonard member pritchard that grandfather has taken place so the wording if you remember last year we um had the attorneys um switch the wording so the grandfathers were taking out of the contracts and that those grandfather stipes were granted to all employees eligible and that was put into their base salary so all those employees that are eligible still receive that grandfather stipend there are no stipend packages in the contracts per the direction of the governing board last year those have all been taken out those employees are still eligible it's in their salaries the ones that i think there were nine off the top of my head that were eligible they still receive that that's been taken care of so that doesn't need to be in writing like in a contract

085wasn't that like an insurance thing uh yes um member preacher yes it was and that we included the agreement for the board was to include that um and then vote the board voted on to include that in their base salary so that has been done and stays with those employees as long as they're current employees of dysart unified school district okay i i remember i definitely remember doing i just don't remember exactly if we still had the language in there the same but let me ask you this so if it's in in their base salary if there is a increase in the cost just through the insurance carrier just in time is that something that would continue to be adjusted to make sure that that benefits paid in full i will defer to mr hicks

086about the adjustments i believe that's in the percent raise as we get but i'll defer to the money guy mr president members of the board no it was a frozen amount that once it got moved into the base it's fixed at that point so this is no longer a stipend that's tied to a benefit that could go up or down is that something that i mean how do we feel about that dr keller miss pritchard the the it's a mixed bag um it does incur the pay raise increase associated with the rest of their salary so while it's not separated out and this is a pay raise increase and this is a insurance cost increase now it all increases or not if there's a pay increase if there were no um insurance cost increases they

087would not have benefited from any salary increase with that stipend amount so with it being included with their salaries they will always benefit from a salary increase regardless of what happens with the insurance is there usually much of a difference that i mean that much either way if the insurance costs did go up is it going to negatively impact those employees that's a big question um are they good with it i mean have they um you know i would again defer to mr croto who had those conversations with employees on their response to those changes president leonard member pritchard i believe they understand that and um they they understand that it will fluctuate and it's included in the raises the conversations i had with people they are happy with if if through the process the

088iba process it determines that there are two percent raises four percent raises that that stipend goes up by that amount each year so they are happy with that and and realize that um i think they are grateful for what the governing board agreed to do last year for them um and they recognize that okay okay thank you any other questions just a a comment maybe i don't know if it's a question but um you know i i vaguely remembering you know going over these contracts the last time and it seemed like we got something called a redline version where it was actually bolded in red you know that the things that were changing and these are just you know like the simple strikethroughs is that a decision that was made and we're moving towards or

089are we going to have more redline versions of things going forward um president leonard miss densmore it is always the intent of administration to provide the cabinet with the most easily identifiable changes whether it's in policy or contractual language so thank you for that feedback okay thank you and to add i can add to that they come that way from the attorney so they i think they switch to black line or using black i can definitely request if we want to use red that we use red okay it's just a little bit easier to identify what is changing and what's the same no thank you duly noted thank you for that any other discussion okay i'll go ahead and motion to approve the administrative employee compensation and benefit contract language for the 2021-2022 school year

090sorry motion made by jay leonard seconded by don densmore i did i thought we already had it on the record that christine was the second oh oh either way i did it again so it's christine sorry about that i blame my old timers or short timers one of the two all right sorry talking all right motion passes moving right along we're gonna go ahead and go to item number five recommendation for renewal but eligible administrative staff and authorization to issue employment contracts for the 2021-2022 school year i'll make a motion to approve the eligible administrative staff for the re-employment and authorization the ish issuance of employment contract for the 2021-2022 school year with the benefit uh cons commiserated with the position second motion made by jay leonard seconded by don densmore let's go ahead and

091vote we're ready to vote i just want to make sure it wasn't me again motion passes thank you we'll go and move down to item number six the revision of the 2020 2021 governing board meeting schedule and other related calendar items dr kellis you want to take this one thank you president leonard members of the board members of cabinet um administration would like to get the board's input on next year's board meeting calendar currently it has been approved already with the the calendar that exists but administration would like to recommend that once a quarter we have a study session and the that study session take the place of one of the regular board meetings the recommendation is the first board meeting of whichever month that falls within so it would not be an additional meeting

092but that study session would allow some more fluid conversation and collaboration between the administration and the governing board so it's a point of discussion for the board to uh to decide if that's something you would be interested want to do or just keep the calendar as is i don't think there's enough meetings on here yeah i think we should double the number of meetings maybe go to every wednesday maybe wednesday thursday friday we could all hang out together what do you guys think we could almost get this to pass couldn't we [Laughter] tracy how's your fever i like the idea of um having study sessions because i think it's very collaborative and i think it builds relationships with the board and superintendent um but kind of what mr leonard i think was joking at but

093in all seriousness i i do i wonder if they should be extra only because um you know looking at february march may only having one board meeting i'm just thinking like with the pandemic and then middle school discussions everything else i'm wondering if it's the time to cut back on board meetings i wonder if we should stick with our regular schedule and then adding in you know the study sessions whether it be before a meeting or on an off meeting week but i just feel like with everything going on this year i don't know that removing board meetings is is the best idea but that's just my my initial feedback what everybody else thinks i'm torn i don't know i mean i i think that it's really important to have them a little bit more

094frequently um you know twice a month you know for the community to be able to get have an outlet for their feedback um but the study sessions i see value on that too so i don't know can do both right tracy you want to jump in on this one i'm still processing this the only thing that i would be concerned with is that that we as the board still conduct the business that still needs to be conducted as far as um anything that mr hicks needs to um get our approval on and so we're not late to any other or any type of filings or anything i just want to make sure that if we can still conduct the business of the district that's fine we may end up adding more board meetings or more

095study sessions we really don't know this year has been an interesting one we don't know what next year is going to look like but i just want to make sure that we still are able to conduct the business of the district um without having to jump through any um special meetings or anything like that that's basically what i was saying and has anyone asked you know michelle caruso what her schedule is michelle would you like a microphone well given the feedback that we have heard this evening administration will move to keep the regular meeting schedule as it has already been approved and look for opportunities to add in some additional dates i i think to mr sinkbell's point uh mr hicks will definitely be adding additional meanings to the calendar throughout the year i think

096that's something you can count on and next year i approve you using twice as many slides no um so thank you for your your discussion on that and this is not something that you need to vote to approve as we're not changing the calendar but as those months come up we will bring it back to the board for scheduling of the work study sessions are we are we still doing an action though on the the february and may meeting are we doing that tonight we're not changing we're not changing anything um so the the calendar to make that action we would eliminate a board meeting in i believe it was february february and may and may so with um the discussion we would not eliminate those regular board meetings we would just look for weeks

097in between where we could schedule the work stay sessions any other discussion you sure you don't want to double it all right we'll go ahead and move on then uh we'll go down to request for future gen items k1 anybody have anything for future agenda items other than my going away party on the next meeting mr leonard to that point we are going to be scheduling a brief reception at our next regular scheduled meeting at 5 30 would we are inviting several special guests as a farewell to two of our board members and we will also that's at 5 30 and at 5 45 we will be doing a swearing-in ceremony for a couple of our new board members so um instead of squaring in or swearing at swearing in and we will do those

098before the regular schedule board meeting just as a point of information awesome thank you for that any other requests for future agenda items all right let's go ahead and move down to l1 i'll make the motion to adjourn the meeting second second motion made by jay leonard and you were still late tracy you really need to work on that trigger made by jay leonard and uh seconded by jen tanner we'll go ahead and vote yeah don't forget to vote and we are adjourned thank you everybody have a wonderful evening
