Good afternoon everyone. Today is uh July 23rd special session meeting at 1:30. It is 1:30 p.m. We're going to ask that you please stand for the pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence >> to the flag of the United States of America. to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Thank you. You may be seated. The purpose of today's uh special school board meeting is uh to be compliant with state statute that requires that travel outside of the county by any member of the school board or the school board in general uh be approved prior to the travel and so this is the reason why we have called this meeting. Um next item on the agenda oh let me introduce my colleagues who

are here. We will start on the left hand side and though you can't see her, she is on the phone. We have Miss Donna Brosmer. Miss Brosmer, are you here? >> I am here. >> Wonderful. I see you waving. Very good. Next to Miss Bromer, we have our schoolboard attorney, Dr. Evans. >> Yes. >> Uh next to over to our right, we have our amazing agency clerk, Celeste. Uh next to Miss Celeste, we have Miss Jesse Thompson. uh said to be the mayor of the school board today according to a Christmas card that she received. Uh we have next to her is Jamie Haynes uh who is here and standing in for Dr. Balgabin we have Dr. Cash. Mr. Cash. Just Mr. Cash. Very good. Uh Miss Christa Goodwitch uh is traveling and was unable

to make the meeting today. Uh first item on the agenda is 2.01 agenda changes. Superintendent or Mr. Mr. Cash, do you have any uh changes on the agenda? >> Chair, I have no changes. >> Wonderful. Board, we need a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Item 2.01. >> I make the motion. I'll second the motion. >> Motion's been properly made by Miss Haynes, seconded by Miss Thompson. All those in favor, please say I. >> I. I. >> I. >> All those opposed, say name. Motion passes unanimously. Next item on the agenda is approval of board travel item 3.01, 01 which is going to include travel to the 39th annual day in the legislature which will happen in Tallahassee uh next week. And so um is there any member of the public that would like

to speak on this item? Ma'am, are you here to speak on that one? No. All right. Very good. Seeing as there is no public comment, we will go ahead and uh I will entertain a motion to approve travel board. Just to let you know, we will have on our next agenda the full slate of travel uh for approval next time around. Otherwise, I'll entertain a motion. >> I make a motion to approve the travel. >> Wonderful. Do we have a second? >> I'll second that motion. >> Motion's been properly made by Miss Hayne, seconded by Miss Thompson. Uh any further discussion hearing? None. All those in favor say I. >> I. All those opposed say nay. >> Motion passes. Uh seeing as we are having a impromptu special meeting um we do have the opportunity

to uh see Mr. Todd Cissoff on his last day which is uh very good for him uh challenging for us to say the least. Uh however uh if you can just come up we'll just take advantage. I know you weren't you were just here to answer any questions should we have any, but I just want to thank you for your service here in Valuchia County. You have uh brought stability. You have brought process. You have brought transparency. Uh you have left it better than you found it. And you know, a lot of times in service, that's what we aim to do is we want it to be better than we found it. And so I just want to say thank you. Thank you for everything because you went through some of the hardest times with

us COVID when money abounded and then in times when money was not abounded. uh like a typ wonderful typical CEO, no is your go-to answer and then we figure out how to get to yes. Uh and so uh I appreciate that. I appreciate that about you and I always appreciate your uh candandor, your honesty, and your willingness to uh break it down in a way that I can understand it. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And board, if anybody else wants to chime in, please feel free. Um, I am very much still going to miss you for a lot of the same reasons that Mr. Cologne said. Uh, I love that you can break it down. You can talk about it while you're up here and bring it down to here if need be

and everywhere in between and the processes you brought and how easy you made it to understand a very large complex budget. So, you will be missed. Um, if you ever get bored, you know where to find us on a Tuesday night in the month and just, you know, tune in and say hi. But thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart for everything that you've done for this district. So I think you're probably if not the best one of the top CFOs we've ever had in Valuchia County and you did walk in at a very difficult time and yet you knew the rules. You knew the laws and you knew what needed to happen and I supported what you did. I didn't try to twist your arm to do things that we could not

financially do. and you're going to be missed and all the knowledge that you have because I even learned some things I didn't know. Um, and when I came back from finance three training and talked to you, I had even some more insight on so people don't understand there's so many steps and parts in order to run a district this size with that kind of budget, but also to keep the money safe, you know, so that, you know, someone can't hack us and take it or commit fraud and all that. And you did an excellent job with that. Congratulations on being able to move on. But I will say this, you know, a year from now if you are bored. >> Six months, isn't it now? >> Six months. They've changed it to six months. >>

If in six months you think, "Oh, I'm missing on some of this, you know, even if you only want part-time, like come back and see us because really we need the knowledge that you have." And so, thank you so very much. >> Thank you, Miss Brosmer. Mr. CE uh already knows that I am deeply sorry that he's leaving. We had a chat at Christmas time. But I just want to say thank you for always being willing to answer my questions since um what you do is very much not what I do and I needed your help and you were always willing to give it and I am very grateful. I will miss you and I hope you enjoy retirement uh and have a great time. Thank you for stopping by here and lending us your

talent. >> Wonderful. Thank you. Anybody else for that matter? >> If I could, I'm I know the superintendent has said this to you privately and publicly, but on behalf of her and the entire cabinet, it's been our pleasure to work with such a skilled school finance person. uh you are head and shoulders above anybody that I've ever had the pleasure to work with and you've taught me a lot in the world of school finance and I genuinely will miss you as a colleague and a friend and I know I speak for everybody that has had the opportunity to work with you and on a personal note thanks for the socks and I'm still wearing them. >> Awesome. And so you don't have to say anything unless you want to. Otherwise, we're thankful. Uh you do

want to say something. >> I have some good news. >> Oh, we'll take good news. All right. anytime the CFO has good news. That's wonderful. >> Well, I just I just wanted to share with you. First of all, thank you so much. I I really appreciate it. And um um it was exciting. I mean, being a part of the team that actually turned the school district from a B to an A. That was the most exciting for me. Um streamlining. I love streamlining. You know, I do that. Um I did it in the private sector. I did it in school districts. So, I really appreciate that. The good news I really want to share is that we they're finally um finishing the audit. So, um as of today, we got a a a clean audit.

>> Awesome. >> With no audit findings. >> So, and that should they should that they should be releasing that audit hopefully today. Okay. That's really what I wanted to share. >> That is a way to go. So, thank you again for your service. Thank you for serving our students, our families, and our community. Uh if nobody has anything else, this meeting is adjourned. Thank you everyone. >> Thank you.
